Kaio Kincaid’s DreamKeeper: This is K.O. From the CN Cult Favorite: OK K.O. Let’s Be Heroes, a Fantastic Cartoon Network Original whose full TV series lasted only two short years and three seasons from around 2017 to 2019, it’s been about five years now since the show met it’s… surprisingly self aware meta rushed series finale while having shown off Easter Eggs of how many more adventures and crossovers K.O. could’ve had, on account of how much of his whole future, K.O. had so much ahead of him back then, and even K.O.’s Creator: Ian Jones Quartey revealed in 2021 how he and his OK K.O. Crew had originally wanted to make the OK K.O. Full TV Series into a Full Streaming TV series on a Streaming AT&T and WarnerMedia platform that would later become the then HBOmax in 2020 which has nowadays changed it’s name to Max since May 2023 last year, which is a rather surprising retrospective truth that I had no idea that I’d come across since I was only looking around the OK K.O. Fandom Website a month ago to see if there was any hopeful news of whether or not the OK K.O. Media Franchise could be revived in the future someday in the form of a sequel series, a spinoff, an IDW Licensed Comic Sequel Series that could serve as some non canon season 4 in Licensed Comic Form, or maybe even a Direct to Streaming Movie or Streaming TV Special etc, and I honestly didn’t know that IJQ wanted to make the OK K.O. Full TV Show into a Streaming Original, which in hindsight: had HBOmax/Max had launched earlier in 2017 around OK K.O.’s time back then, then the show’s lifespan wouldn’t have ever needed to be held back by Cable TV Ratings which led to their early cancellation in the first place, but enough about that, I wanted to draw K.O. and his Were Puppy form in the DreamKeepers art style while giving his Canine Self his own DK-Halo, because I thought it would be fun to just draw them in that style while staying faithful to their simplistic designs. So I hope you folks like this DreamKeepers style interpretation of the two K.O.'s of course.

Out of Pure curiosity, does anybody know where the piw wow scene in Dreamkeeper was filmed? It looks like they filmed at an actual pow wow (rather than just setting up an existing arbor that wasn't doing a pow wow at the time). It's obviously coded to be the Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque (but it's called the "All Nations), but it can't be that pow wow because the Gathering of Nations happens indoors inside an arena, and the powwow in Dreamkeeper has an old style, outdoor, natural arbor with trees, and it looks much smaller, it's like an average sized pow wow but Gathering of Nations is the biggest powwow & the turnout is insane

"Well, that didn't go as planned," Ed says in lieu of a proper greeting as the two stand on his doorstep once more.

He appears uncertain, and is dressed in his regular attire. 

The walls in the hall were a soupy green and the floor an uncomfortable brown carpet. It looks barren, lost of all decor.

"Don't rush to reassure me or anything," He remarks sarcastically, attempting to goad the formless strands into responding.

They don't. 

Pressing his lips together, Ed guides them inside. They take up residence on the vague couches from their first visit.

On Ed's side, there is a plush cat doll.

Immediately, Sage's eyes lock on to it, and she grimaces.

"I hate that. How does he do that?" she complains, shaking the other until they slowly take the form of Chai.

"He's... using cats as an internal safe word." Chai says, eyes sparkling in awe. "How does he do that?"

"Yeah, I thought that would work." Ed sounds smug as he sits. He's now in his casual clothes, and the room resembles his source media's style, though in an abstract manner.

Chai shakes his head in disbelief. "I can't believe he can do that."

"I wonder if it can be used in lucid dreaming, too." Sage ponders, a hand to her chin.

"So here's where I step in, I guess. It looks like, if you guys feel too emotional, you start to drift out of orbit. If you get too far away, a panic response is induced. During that panic response, Kuro acts as an emergency anchor, tying you both back to reality."

White noise crackles through Sage's headset, and she began to tense as she received an uncommunicatable message.

"Man, that Dreamkeeper is some guy, huh?" Ed says. "I figured that while you were both, y'know, not you, I could use cat imagery to spark you back. Not bad for on the spot thinkin' huh?"

"That's incredible," Chai gushes, immediately taking notes. "I wonder what we can do with that!"

Sage scratches at her cheek. She'd not expected Ed to do that for them. It was a great burden to actively manipulate surroundings, and he had formed something in hopes that it could assist with a task he'd been reluctant to take part in.

She doesn't know what to say, but she feels rather touched.

"Anyway, it looks like I can't go to that office." Ed reports, crossing his ankle onto his knee. "I couldn't even leave this place. I'm working with the theory that you need as little control over the setting as possible."

"How do you figure?" Sage asks, lifting her chin.

"Well, over the sessions, we were more successful in visualising the surroundings, right? It's a rule that you can't do that here. This place just is." Ed points out. "The more confident you felt, the more dynamic this place is. In the office, I think you were both grappling with different ideas, and it was too unstable for me to enter, even though I was right there."

FINALLY GOT THIS OUT!

Here’s going to be my only entry this year for the Dreamkeepers annual Halloween Fanart contest - due to both other obligations and poor time management this is going to be my only piece this year. But I still like how it came out!

I am a BIG FAN of Lore Olympus, the writing, the plot helping to merge both modern traumas and old Greek mythology and the art is to absolutely DIE FOR! I tried yo mimic the style as best as I could and I’m pretty happy with the end result!

Sorry, but I no longer support Dreamkeepers and won't be drawing the characters again. There are likely people on the DK Discord server who are open to requests, though.

Everyone's favorite movies or story?

Isaac: Rocky Horror Picture Show -- it was his gay awakening and he drags people out to midnight shadow casts all the time.

Pasq: Enchanted -- he's the type to watch it up to the ball and then stop it because of the makeover.

Phoebe: My Little Pony and Warriors -- She loved these series when she was a kid and continues to enjoy them as an adult, because she doesn’t believe in cringe culture.

Cass: Kiki's Delivery Service -- it was her go-to movie as a child and she was obsolutely obsessed with it.

Euria: Dreamkeeper -- it's one of those films you end up watching because of your parents and end up loving. It also connects at a personal level.

Rhode: Interview with the Vampire -- another gay awakening movie. Louis and Lestat are attractive edgy Victorian vampires, what's not to love?

Suzuo: Treasure Planet -- absolute favorite movie as a child and it probably still is. Definitely took a lot of inspiration from it style-wise.

Alanta: Bumblebee -- Bumblebee was always her favorite Transformer, and having a sentient transforming car is literally her dream.

BAR’s PS5 Screenshots 3-16-2024: Here are my 10 new Screenshots from Street Fighter 6 I actually forgot to post on some of my social media platforms almost a week ago now, due to working an Oddworld + Steven Universe Fan Art illustration of Lapis Lazuli and Abe, and working on my 10 yr milestone remake illustration of my Grandma getting peddled around in her red wheelchair by a Dolphin DreamKeeper Avatar I created for her back in 2014 as I remade it this year (as of 3-16-2024 of writing this post’s description of course), and visiting my grandma to make sure she’s doing well, I just lost track of the time, but on the bright side, I got back to playing Street Fighter 6 on my PS5 since I might as well try to finish playing through my Street Fighter Avatar’s world tour storyline, my SF6 Avatar used to go by the full name of Brisk Tintor, but after seeing the in game-mobile text msgs on how my avatar was being addressed by his full name like it was a first name basis, I went to the in game settings, removed the surname: Tintor, so now my SF6 Avatar is plainly addressed as just: Brisk nowadays in my SF6 World Tour PlayThrough of course, any this is what my SF6 Avatar’s full body appearance looks like in my Real Life Likeness with just my face, stomach, height, and skin tone etc, but with some exaggerated mashup design choices of Frank Miller, Rob Liefeld, and the Elven People of my longtime favorite Cult Video Game Series: Jak & Daxter, just for fun. I’m aware that there are some people who have a lot of mixed feelings about the Street Fighter character customization features being weird, but to me: that’s no surprise because longtime street fighter fans should know as well as I do that most of the character design styles for Street Fighter Characters have always had this marvelous mix of Frank Miller, Rob Liefeld, Kevin Eastman, Mark Bagley, and Antarctic Press AmeriManga imho, so I hope you folks like these screenshots of my SF6 Avatar: Brisk, as I’m proud of how I designed him for fun anyway of course.

SEED Ensemble - Driftglass - another new LP from the burgeoning UK jazz scene

jazz re:freshed are proud to present the long-awaited debut album from emerging London-based collective SEED Ensemble. Formed in 2016, SEED Ensemble is a ten-piece project led by composer, arranger and alto saxophonist Cassie Kinoshi. Already a giant on the UK jazz scene, she is known for her work with all-female jazz septet, Nerija, and afrobeat jazz group, Kokoroko. Combining jazz with inner-city London, West African and Caribbean influenced groove, Cassie Kinoshi’s SEED Ensemble explores a blend of genres through both original compositions and arrangements. “SEED Ensemble is my way of celebrating the vibrant and distinctive diversity that has significantly influenced what British culture has become over the centuries.” Across ‘Driftglass’, Kinoshi embraces styles both past and present to create something that we can call modern. CCA Shock Trooper Bust - Dreamkeepers

Tools Used - Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, UE4

A follow-up of sorts to my “Gatling Recoil Cannon” post, where I attempt to mimic the Dreamkeepers art style in real-time 3D, in Unreal Engine 4.  This time, I created a custom Shock Trooper, in order to test my shaders over a wider variety of materials, both organic and synthetic.  My goal was to keep the in-engine end result as close to the look of the graphic novel as possible.  The final image also shows off some simple preliminary sketches that I did to finalize the character’s design and fur patterns.  All of the renders above are pulled directly from UE4, with no additional touch-up work done after the render.

BOOM!!! Double prize! I know this took me a while to finish. I just got too caught up in the animation stuff! 😸💦 Speaking of, I want to go over everything up and coming! 🐱 Let's start with the animation. I've been doing a LOT of research, only to come up empty. Thankfully, I know someone who can help! Unfortunately, my phone isn't working anymore... I am going to get that resolved, just not right now... 🙀 Point is, phone first, then animation. No two ways about it. 🐱 On a more immediate note, I have a lot of fresh, new digital art I'm going to be working on! 😸 -It's about time I FINALLY got to work on Delphox! So that will be next. -Also, I noticed earlier today that I am no longer cream of the crop when you search for "Dreamkeepers" on Tumblr! That just won't do. I liked being the first thing on that list! Luckily, I have Nainso, Bill and Igrath, all queued up as well! -Lastly, I want to feature Erik and Bridget in more comic style stuff. These will come out a lot slower, but I'll be working on them alongside everything else.
