A Tim Box Production: A Dream Logo Animatic Idea of Mine

Now, to round up the year 2024 before 2025 begins in the next five days from now....

Yes, it's only just an idea of mine as well as being, a primitively rough animatic for an animated dream logo for my very own dream production company, sure, and yes, I haven't even set it all up yet in the foreseeable future, and yes, sure, the name "Tim Box" may actually referred to a container made out of tinplate metal, but anyway...

If An American Tail's very popular Fievel Mousekewitz mouse character had once graced the closing logo for legendary Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg's short-lived London, England, UK-based Amblimation studio (active between 1989 (a full year after the success of Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and 1997 (leaving behind three completed movies and an unrealized animated musical version of Cats (not to be confused with the notorious 2019 film of the same name), and being the ancestor of today's DreamWorks, the studio behind the Shrek movies) at the very end of 1991's An American Tail: Fievel Goes West as well as at the very end of two other films called We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story and Balto (1993 and 1995, respectively)…

Then why not have the Fievel Goes West iterations of Fievel's mouse sisters, Tanya and Yasha, also from the American Tail movies, possibly grace the animated logo for my dream production company "TIM BOX Productions" to help open any of my movie ideas, especially my epic of the Planet of the Toons or perhaps even something else based on and inspired by my early childhood experiences?

Well, here are all 25 panels of my dream logo idea for my dream production company, "TIM BOX Productions" with the Fievel Goes West versions of Tanya and Yasha, the sisters of Fievel Mousekewitz:

Now, the music starts out very circus-like before moving on to vaguely sexy music when Tanya comes out of the dressing room scene in her the Girl You Left Behind saloon show girl gown and makeup before segueing into a heartwarming orchestral instrumental from James Newton Howard's expanded Disney Dinosaur music (i.e., the Playing Monster cue).

What ACTUALLY happens when you ask a crewmate to watch the coilhead

Not enough people are talking about Donqui trolling the other sinners in the April Fools event.

Exhibit A:

She could've immediately yelled "MANAGER ESQUIRE!!!" as soon as she saw Dante, but no, she decided to let them get some words in before yelling. There was NO reason for her to pause like that. She was fucking with Dante and its great.

Exhibit B:

Obviously the body swap makes them confused on which name they should respond to, but Donqui responded to both "Faust" and "Don Quixote". She 100% knew who Outis (Ousang?) was referring to, she just wanted to fuck around.

This entire situation is so much better since its post-canto VII. This was Don Quixote, who regained all her memories and is continuing to reach for the dream alongside her family of 12, waking up in a foreign body, realising everyone on the bus is stuck in the same situation, and her first thought is "Won't it be funny if I fuck around with them in this already confusing situation?". And she was absolutely correct.

(I shall ignore the fact this is a dream and thus this event might not be 100% canon. Troll Quixote is forever real to me.)

lucanis is a 'I could sit in our quiet kitchen on a grey tuesday afternoon drinking coffee and talking with you about nothing much in particular forever and be the happiest man who ever lived' romantic, not a 'classic tropes and grand gestures' romantic. this is a distinction and conceptual gap I personally feel is crucial to understanding what's going on with him when romanced. for all his almost painful sincerity and clear depth of feeling he's not a very effusive guy by nature, but in the history of time no one has ever, with their whole soul, chest and being, been so genuinely and openly happy to just do laundry and taxes with you.

One thing I love about orv is that it initially bait and switches you by convincing you early on that the constellations are the "big bad" of the story - voyeuristic beings that gain enjoyment off the suffering of others - until the reveal that they are also going through their own scenarios. This mirrors how us as the readers are going through our own lives and our own struggles yet we consume media highlighting the experiences of others. We root for these characters, we follow their journeys, we see ourselves in them. And yet we're not villains - we're just surviving. We're escaping the struggles of our own lives by indulging in these worlds created by human imagination. Similarly, many of the constellations in orv do not have malicious intentions despite living off stories - uriel cares greatly for the incarnations she supports (as the "fangirl" archetype) and sun wukong and abfd also greatly support kimcom throughout their journey.

This is further solidified in the reveal of the oldest dream. Despite unintentionally creating worldlines through his imagination, the younger kim dokja was never a villain or "monster". He was simply a child who sook to escape the tragedies of his life through a webnovel. He depended on that novel to survive. And that was in no way the sin he thought it was - not even secretive plotter who had gone through countless regressions and witnessed the despair of the universe could hold it against him. Nor han sooyoung, nor yoo joonghyuk of the 1864th round, nor yoo sangah, nor anyone else in kimcom. No one thought dokja needed to atone for anything - they loved him and cared for him even when he couldn't love himself.

Just like kim dokja and just like the constellations, we are readers seeking an escape from the struggles of reality. And we too are loved - regardless of whether we know it or understand why.

Beginning with posture, Don Quixote is crossing her legs, which is unusual for both our LCB Sinner and other IDs. Indeed, the interviewer in her uptie story comments on how her leg bounces restlessly as a rather one-sided brawl whirls around them. With crossed legs and bowl in hand instead of on the table where one may set their idle forearms, Don Quixote awaits the moment she and her would-be client lock eyes and speak the magic words: “Please accept my contract.”

Food, costuming, and other comments under the cut:

Her noodles of choice in this image appears to be 河粉(héfěn), a type of wide, flat rice noodle often seen in Southern Chinese cooking such as Cantonese stir-fry. Her particular bowl reminds me of beef brisket noodles, especially with the crunching noises in the uptie story bringing to mind the juicy stalks of choy sum!

Though the exact name escapes me, Don Quixote’s clothing resembles this type of robe and trousers combination often worn by martial artists in Hong Kong and Taiwanese movies and dramas set in the 民国(míngúo) or Republic of China era. Her oval-crowned, miniature fedora, Western-style suit jacket, and circular lenses are also indicative of that time period, where war and resistance against Japanese invaders are often major plot points. Within the resistance also brewed rising conflict between the Communist party and the incumbent Nationalist party, whose handling of the Japanese invasion will fuel the fire of a national schism decades in the making.

These are notably masculine styles in both dress and accessorizing. As a good friend put it, this is the visage of a woman where everyone’s business is her business so long as she is present.

Her jade bracelets and charm earring bring to mind Hong Kong in particular, where the people are more spiritual than most on the mainland. I cannot wait to see what the Eastern City has in store for us. I cannot stress enough how excited I am as the child of Chinese immigrants to see Western audiences so excited over this ID and the promise of entering District 8 in the upcoming Canto VIII amidst the rampant sinophobia of the past decade.
