sorry, still no new art, work has me tired af and I can't keep posting rushed sketches that I'm gonna end up hating (I'm SSSO tempted to delete some stuff lmao) but I have lots of wips and I'll be patient with myself and concentrate on those !! anyway-

Today I'm here to blabber about one thing that I've basically already storyboarded but Idk if it will ever see the light of day: a Sambastian coming of age(?) comic. I'm just going to put this idea into the world..

Mind you, it's really nothing crazy, but it's long enough to require a lot of commitment - that would mean not drawing anything else for a while, and idk if I'm able to do that while having the attention span of a goldfish when it comes to drawing only one thing at a time.

I could post page by page as I finish them, but my original (maybe too ambitious) idea was to make a Sambastian-centric fanzine to publish all at once, with the various chapters interspersed by some miscellaneous content. I looove the idea of creating an old-style printable zine, I'm just a big nerd for these things and I like printed paper. Realistically thought, the single-page posts are more accessible.

Technically it's an AU because it diverges slightly from the canon SDV universe, mostly in the timeline of the various families moving to Pelican Town. Also it adds to the relationships that all characters have with each other, to what school/uni they attended and stuff like that - which aren't as in-depth within the game.

The story per se is very simple: it follows Sebastian and Sam going from teenagers to adults, their struggles, the ups and downs in their friendship and eventually their romantic relationship. Basically it's the lead-up to Older!Sambastian. It also features other SDV characters such as Alex and Abigail (I would love to have them all if I ever expand on it). It's obviously SFW until they are adults, even if their experiences get mentioned and questioned...just know there is some Seb/Alex and Sam/Penny action lol. It's also quite different from what I've done up until now because this story it's angsty, like, very much so. TW worthy. Uncharted territory fr.

By the way I know I said it's long but it's not actually THAT long for now (15 pages?). The story is made up of snippets from different moments, like little windows in their life (for example there are a couple of scenes set in their first year of high school, but the following one it's set in their third year - some jumps are longer than others). At the same time this type of narration allows me to go back and add missing moments very easily if I ever actually finish this comic and wish to further expand on it.

I don't even know if anyone would be interested in this - except for me and like three darling mutuals who tolerate my ideas - but it would be such a cool thing to dooo ughh 😩😩😩 anyone who volunteers to be my benefactor so I can focus on fictional characters like god intended?? Maybe on a beach with a Campari?? I don't ask of much tbh

I would prefer it if you didn’t. If you’d like to share WIPs or previews of your piece, you may provide me with images, and I can post them — Tagging your blog(s) and promoting the zine.

Does my art NEED to be Summer themed?

Yes, but how your squids enjoy the Summertime is wholly unique to them — If they like to stay inside and play video games as the sun shines outside, that’s just as valid as hitting the beach or lounging poolside. In the case of the NSFW edition, maybe sunbathing in the nude is more their speed.

Will my contribution be guaranteed to appear in the book?

If you want your artwork featured in the book, it needs to be completed and submitted by the deadline. If you feel you cannot meet the deadline, seriously consider if you want to be a part of this project.

Can I draw official characters instead of OCs?

Yes! While the initial idea was to showcase OCs, you’re welcome to draw original characters as well.

Can I commission someone to provide art for the book?

Yes! If the artist can submit it by the deadline.

Can I collaborate with another artist?

Yes! If you can submit it by the deadline.

Is this SFW?

Yes, the fanzine is predominantly SFW. If there are enough submissions, there will be a NSFW edition as well.

Can my contribution be NSFW?

Tbh I'm not really alright, barely there- I am still working on my art though, and lately I've been doing a couple of private commissions (thankfully), on some Genshin Impact fanarts and fanzines (so I can't share WIPs) and I'm a bit more active on Instagram. I don't really like to post on tumblr that much anymore because if I post Queen art it barely gets noticed bc the fandom is small, if I post non-Queen art it's as if I didn't post it at all, and that makes me unhappy. I'm also a bit stuck irl, I can't find a job and I really think I should get checked for ADHD because "I'm going slightly mad". Sooo yeah this is the update and I'm really sorry if you miss my art 🙏🏻💕 I'm trying my best right now even if my best is not that much 😅

Fish Soup - The White Wolf's Pack | A Witcher Fanzine

The leftover sales for the @witcher-fanzine I'm in have begun so I can finally show the piece I did for this zine! If you would like to get anything, please head to the shop here!! Leftover sales end August 16! Some ramblings about this piece because I worked VERY hard on it (lol): This illustration was based off a scene in one of the books where Geralt and his nakama gather and bond whilst preparing and cooking fish soup. I was always taken with that scene so I wanted to have a hand in drawing that scene out. I'm actually proud of this illustration! There were a few speed bumps along the way but managed to figure it out one way or another... which I guess is one main reason why I have such an affection for this piece even tho there are a few mistakes here and there like the perspective...

Surprisingly, I actually like how I rendered/painted this piece! However, I wouldn't do it again because it was so damn tedious... ( I was experimenting with a brush I haven't used before) I especially like how I painted the cauldron LOL

To simplify things, I based the characters off the Netflix series. For characters that haven't yet been revealed, like Regis and Milva, I referenced other Witcher medias like the game, trading card art, etc... I had the most liberty with Milva since I wanted to use her future actress representing her as reference. Hence the asian inspiration for her outfit. For Cahir, its a mix of the Netflix series and the trading card art. I think I wanted him to look slightly different from his Netflix counterpart because he is portrayed differently in the books.

Due to the fact I worked SO hard on this piece, you get to see the many progress shots behind it. Please check out the WIPs and at the end I have included the other initial ideas I had for this piece!

2023 Fic Masterlist

Happy New Year, everyone! I thought I'd do another yearly round-up of everything I wrote for M*A*S*H this year. It was, admittedly, a quieter year this year, but I still have some stories I'm pretty proud of. Enjoy!

Works in Progress (WIPs)

Close to the Heart (6/12 chapters posted) - “Anything close to the heart is risky.” One spring morning in 1952, Peg Hunnicutt walks into Hawkeye Pierce's office with one simple request: kill her husband. Noir AU (well, subverted noir AU), triad-ish. 23.5k so far.

into a gold and crimson graciousness of October (1/5 chapters posted) - A chance meeting in a Hannaford parking lot in the fall of 1955 leads to Donna being invited to spend Thanksgiving in Crabapple Cove. What she isn't expecting is that Charles will be there too. Sort-of sequel to 'younger in October than in all the months of spring; Charleshawk, Charles/Donna, Charles/Donna/Hawkeye. 5k so far.

the best thing going - It looks like any other beach. Sun, sand, ocean... the only thing missing is the clothes. Written for the "M*A*S*H Fic Olympics", 1960s AU set at a nude beach. 5k.
