how are you feeling today on John Deacon’s birthday?

Lol this comes perfectly timed with a story I just made on Instagram about this, so I'll share what I wrote:

Mandatory apology post because this year, for the first time in 7 years, I didn't draw anything for John Deacon's birthday. I was really torn because I had no ideas for it and while I tried to find some inspiration because I DID want to make him another drawing, my creativity was shifted somewhere else and I didn't want this to feel like a chore I *had* to complete rather than a genuine tribute like it should've been. You know at this point my relationship with Queen and the fandom is a bit rusty so that didn't help, and I'm in a bit of an art crisis lately, so drawing in general is hard, and it's even harder for me to like something I've drawn, plus I couldn't come up with any good idea for John's birthday. I have a few unfinished Deaky artworks I want to retouch and post, sooner or later.

John's birthday art has always been an important event for me as an artist and a fan of him, because I've always insisted on pushing my boundaries further and dreaming of doing the best thing I could do, putting even bigger expectations on myself every year, knowing what I did previously was good and I had to do *better* and come up with something more. But you know, keep pulling a rope and it'll eventually break. Less fandom interactions + expectations that were too big led me to find no good ideas and no reason to push myself so much for such little reward.

I'm really sorry, I hope I haven't let anyone down. Just know that I'm not happy about it either.

If anyone has any idea that would really want to see drawn by me, my commissions are open so just DM me. My brain refuses to get any ideas.
