if there's one [1] thing i will be forever grateful for in the internet era it's the vast variety and availability of pose / anatomy references supplied by photographers and models

i can go online and find PERFECT references for how fat folds crease the skin or how muscles wrap around the body and as someone who habitually draws most of his OCs ~modestly lean~ and wants to hone his skill in other body types, it is literally a godsend to have those refs so readily available

Hairstyle meme featuring the clown with the with the best locs in the kingdom, Leo! (And a Claudette cameo)

Since we're here, I'll write a bit about Leo's hair:

Dreadlocks (locs) are a very important part of Leo's father's (Aries) culture/side of the family. It is believed that their locs hold memories and give them strength. Leo started his locs when he was about 10 years old because he wanted to be like his cool big sister and hasn't cut them since. Though, he once accidentally cut one off and Freaked. The. Honk. Out.

Leo doesn't really care about his father's culture and wouldn't consider himself "spiritual" but he is still very careful with his hair. It's rare that he even lets someone else touch it.

Trying to cheer myself up because of tomorrow (DND party probably finally getting back together to continue the campaign in which my absolute sweet baby girl character whom I love as if she were my own child and is an extension of myself is on death saving throws alone with a guy almost half dead himself and two idiots down the hall that set off a booby trap and blew up a gremlin robot and pissed off his dozen friends in the room with him(we only just got a cleric and she has about six turns to get to me in time)) and so decided to take a shot at digitally drawing Fontaine with goddess braids!!…but only for half of her head

I also finally made a watermark

It’s a little more stylized than I usually do, and it was purely to distract myself from the potential of my character maybe or maybe not dying tomorrow (if the cleric even has time to show up, which is fine cause she’s got a toddler and a busy schedule). This is actually a design of Fontaine in one of my au’s, where she originally had a sort of undercut, but then I saw and fell in love with all the fanart of Fontaine with braids and thought….what if I implemented braids? It’ll definitely be tweaked as I go, but this is what I have for now. I’ve never drawn braids digitally before so it’s probably not great

Miraculous Ladybug, Marinette Dupain-Cheng Drawings

I drew a lot of Marinette Dupain-Cheng from Miraculous Ladybug. I have the same love hate relationship with this show that most of the active fandom has. I may repurpose the time lapse from this drawing to use as visual while I rant about it and turn that into a YouTube video.

This is technically a redesign of Marinette, except I mostly like her canon design, so it’s actually just putting her in a bunch of different outfits to fit the occasion.

I started by tracing a picture of her and starting to adapt it to my style, thence freeform drawing her canon design in my style, then went from there.

Imagined context for each one:

Canonette Trace: Marinette at a regular school day.

Canonette Freeform: Marinette attempting to greet Adrien like a normal human being and mostly succeeding.

Girlboss Marinette: She had a big presentation that she wanted to look professional for.

Bakinette: It’s 2 a.m. and she’s making brownies for some reason.

Dancinette: She’s ballet dancing alone in her room, cuz she’s not confident enough to dance in any public capacity.

Grouchinette: She hasn’t slept in 3 days and someone just asked her a really dumb question.

Fashionette: Showcasing her newest design

Pridenette: It’s a pride parade and she’s having a little too much fun.

i legit love when a character's gender is so integral to their personality (and perception obviously.) like so concrete that if genderbent their whole shtick would just be absolute dookie. anyways i'm just writing this text so i can talk in the tags (My beautiful safe haven)
