Sokkla AU

As punishment for hunting down dragons to near extinction, the spirits curse Sozin's female descendants to transform into dragons. A hundred years later, the first Fire Princess is born. Firelord Ozai hides her in a remote castle and hired guards to protect her from hunters. Over time, guards go missing due to Azula not being able to control her powers. People are catching on and fewer volunteer. Low on options and desperate to keep the secret Ozai hires someone expendable. Master Piandao’s newest student from the Southern Water Tribe.

Katara: you go from kitty-owl sized to larger than Appa in the blink of an eye, that's cheating.

Hi ATLA tumblr, I made an ATLA au recently called “May the Spirits Guide You” the main idea is the same, however Aang is given a vision that benders given blessings by the first benders will assist him in learning the elements and defeating the fire lord.

These are my designs for Zuko and Azula, who are blessed by the dragons Ran and Shaw after a failed poisoning attempt in order to save their life.

(I should clarify, they still support Ozai at the start of this AU)

Have four;

She and Momo have this mild feud going on. No one knows what started it but it is a thing. Momo is winning.

Speaking of pets; Azula does this thing;

Azula and children work surprisingly well. Both are very blunt and say the rudest things for no reason. She has, for this reason, gotten into some heated debates with Izumi and Kiyi where they just said the most sou lcrushing but super petty things to each other.

Since I’m reading the amazing Dragon!Azula AU story Skin & Scales by the wonderful @bellatrixobsessed1 a thought overcame me. So, we know that Fang, the Dragon of Roku could communicate with his whiskers and set images in to peoples heads when touched by one (iirc) and well I can totally see Azula communicating like that when she’s to lazy to speak or give people trippy/gory visions if she feels like it. 🐉

I fear that "fire bending didn't come easy to zuko" and "zuko isn't a prodigy" (both true) has somehow snowballed into "zuko is a bad or at best average fire bender".... which simply isn't true, especially by the end of book 3

Zuko: Don’t worry. I know how to handle this.

Zuko: Azula?

[ Azula looks over at Zuko and he flicks her on the face. ]

Zuko: See?

Dragon AU where Azula turns into a dragon for the first time and panics. Thinking she's a monster, Azula runs off but Ursa finds her hiding behind an old lighthouse. Azula tells Ursa to go away but Ursa doesn't and sits with her until Azula calms down enough to turn back human.

Ursa then tells Azula about her great grandfather Roku, the original dragon shifter.

Inspired by the lighthouse scene from Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken

fic idea: y'know how some fics where Azula ends up in the south pole, she lives in the abandoned ship? so Katara goes to explore it – by herself like a curious child or when Aang shows up – and finds her there. but because I like dragon!Azula, of course she's in dragon form.
