You were meeting his friends for dinner, you actually suggested it, a dinner party at your house to get to know them. You were at the point of the relationship where you’d been dating for a few months and were ready to get more serious. You were so anxious the whole day, you remember showering and feeling so anxious you felt like you were going to throw up.

You got out of the shower and made your way into the bedroom where Draco was getting ready. “I’m so nervous” you say coming up behind him and wrapping your arms around him. “Don’t be they are great you’ll love them” he spins you around and pulls you close to him pressing a longing kiss on your head. “Im not worried about me liking them, I want them to like me” “they will, I like you there’s no reason they won’t.”

Draco is 9 years older than you, which means his friends are older too, although you and Draco got along well you felt intimidated as they were approaching 30 you were just coming to terms with turning 21 shortly. You thought you wouldn’t have much to relate about.

The long awaited moment came and once you’d been introduced you served dinner. They were talking about their times at Hogwarts, it was nice to hear but you didn’t have much to add but you did your best.

“Draco was the best at Potions despite what everyone thought of Potter” Pansy says “Really? I didn’t know that! I was also top of my class in Potions” you say taking Draco’s hand “but Hogwarts changed changed a lot since we left, really it went downhill. You didn’t experience Snape the best potions master of the century” he avoided your hand placing it on the table. Your heart sunk to your stomach, no one noticed and the conversation kept flowing but you weren’t able to get over it.

You kept quiet the rest of the night. You cleaned up after they left and Draco was helping you. “You’re awfully quiet, what’s going on? Didn’t like my friends?” “No they were great” “what is it?” “You, why did you treat me like that? You just dismissed me the whole night, you dropped my hand.” “I can’t even remember that” “Well you did it” “It was probably an unconscious action” “it was full of thought and intention.” “Well I didn’t mean anything by it” “you definitely meant to make me feel like a child when you told me that after you guys left Hogwarts every year went downhill.” “You’re making a night about me and my friends about you! That’s so fucking selfish, I didn’t expect that from you” “it’s not about me it’s about you and how you are being a shitty boyfriend” “don’t put your insecurities on me! This is you, you’re being so selfish!” He spat.

Your eyes welled up and a the painful lump in your throat was about to be released. You turn away from him and continue cleaning to let out your tears. “Hey, I don’t want to fight” he turns you around and wipes your tears “I’m sorry, I was a terrible boyfriend” he knew how to guilt you “no, you’re not” you said trying to catch your breath. He pressed his lips to yours and made you feel like you were overreacting.

Things had changed, fights would start over small things until one day it hit the breaking point.

Draco was in his study working when you came in after not talking all day. You didn’t get into an argument you were just in a rough spot. “Hey baby” you say sitting on his lap, he didn’t wrap his arms around you and just let you sit there.

“I’ve been thinking for a long time and I can’t get it off my mind” “talk to me” you take his hand and he lets you. “I’m not feeling this anymore, us. We are disconnected. It’s not the same” you get up and gave him “are you about to break up with me?” “Yes, it’s done” “we are going through a normal tough situation it’s no excuse to break up.” “I know you’re trying to make this work but I’m over it, I’ve been through this at your age. If we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine.” You weren’t even sad just mad. “Fuck this. Fuck you! You knew what you were getting into” “I don’t know what I was thinking, you’re too young.”

You just left and never came back. Never saw him again.

Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass. a perfect pair, really. they're destined to end up in each other's arms by the time they finish Hogwarts, they're destined to spend the rest of their lives together and no one was to get in between them.

I stared at the top of my four-poster bed, nights like this always had me wondering, why am I doing this? why did I even get into this relationship, if you can call it one, that was bound to end within the next few years? why am I risking everything for someone who would end up in someone else's arms? why am I making promises with someone who will fulfill those with someone else?

my head always spiraled with a list of why's. why am I doing this to myself?

the only time I'd stop is when he finally knocks on the door and I'll quietly slip out of my blankets, making sure not to wake my roommates up, slip on my robes and take his hand to spend the rest of the night giggling and trying not to get caught by Filch or Mrs. Norris.

I had fun dancing and laughing with Harry Potter, so much fun that I had nearly forgotten about the fact that Draco and Astoria came to the ball as each other's date.

if Draco and Astoria weren't dancing so close to us, I might've completely forgotten about it.

"you look gorgeous" Draco whispers the words that were meant for Astoria, only for her to hear.

I ended up spending most of my time at the yule ball with Harry and his friends as I tried to avoid Draco and Astoria at all costs.

but my attempts of avoiding him was soon washed down the drain because a graze of Draco's hand against my waist was all it took for me to excuse myself, "hey, uh, I had so much fun with you guys but I'll just go get some air. it's getting kind of cramped here"

when we returned, even if I was back with the trio who was by the way asking why I looked flushed, I see the smirks Pansy and Daphne sent in my direction when they saw Draco's flushed cheeks and lipstick stain on his lips.

yeah, probably. he's bound to marry someone else but he's here with me, in the restricted section of the library where we'd cost at least a hundred points off of our house if we get caught.

"i love you" Draco whispered against my nape, arms wrapping around my body to pull me into a back hug as he pressed my back against his chest.

I turned around, leaving the dusty potions book I was holding on the table beside us, "i love you too" I whispered back, our lips inches away before he finally closed the gap.

yes, I consider this an illicit affair. because if it isn't, why would I catch Draco's longing stares whenever his father requested for him to spend more time with his future wife?

my year in fic: 2024!

Thank you so much for tagging me @sitp-recs! I loved putting this little roundup together. I struggled a bit this year, creatively - I think because I had such a massive output in 2023 (226k words 😱) I was going through burnout and also feeling like I couldn't quite live up to the longfics I had posted the previous year. But putting this together, and realising I've written 120k words, I'm actually really surprised - and happy! I've done a real mix of pairings, too.

I look forward to 2025 - I'm planning to take part in Kinkuary again, and I have a few other projects up my sleeve including my first Drarry (long) 8th year fic, a collab, and a follow-up fic to a Drarry I've already published. I'm determined to go into next year with a clear and positive head and continue to stick to writing (and sharing!) what I love!

Harry Potter: I’m gonna be honest I project on this man far too unhealthily to NOT be biased (I’ve been going by the name Harry in IRLfor 3 and a half years now I think? Bc of this man /srs) but that man’s bi with a capital B 💕💜💙 personally I enjoy seeing trans man Harry as well but unfortunately I don’t see as many fanfics of him as such :,) shoutout to all the fanfic creators I see making Harry a trans woman tho!!! I’d also love to see a genderfluid/nonbinary Harry or two!!!

Hermione Granger: trans woman!!! 🏳️‍⚧️ *crowd cheers* as for sexuality wise? I’ve seen her depicted as straight, bisexual and lesbian- and honestly I think I can see her fitting all of these!!!

Ronald Weasley: I always struggle to pinpoint what I headcanon Ron to be. I have seen a couple of people headcannoning him as a trans man 🏳️‍⚧️- referencing Molly continuing to have children until she had a girl creates perfect levels of angst for this- but I wouldn’t say it’s a permanent aspect of him inside my head. Now that I think about him a little more- I think I might headcanon him as unlabeled more than anything sexuality wise. I think he’s into women but he wouldn’t be opposed or too surprised if he developed a crush on a guy.

Luna Lovegood: She’s a lesbian 🏳️‍🌈💕 (I will occasionally accept fanfics where she is pan and is with Neville but her being a lesbian is the main headcanon) also a little gender queer in whichever way you choose 🏳️‍⚧️ sometimes I see her as genderfluid, bigender and just generally nonbinary

Ginny Weasley: bi- so so bi 💕💜💙

Draco Malfoy: Gayest motherfucker in town I’m sorry- Mr. Tells his father literally everything about Harry 💚🤍💙

Tonks: (She/they) Lesbian and Intersex 🏳️‍🌈💕💛🟣. I’m sorry but the age gap between Remus and her in the original books make me uncomfortable- as for being intersex, I think most ppl believe being a metamorphmagus means she is automatically genderfluid, while I like seeing genderfluid representation, I think ppl often fail to acknowledge the difference between sex and gender. As a metamorphmagus, she transforms her body, her gender doesn’t seem to change w it in the books. While I like the headcanons of them being genderfluid I wish more people explored that specific idea.

Severus Snape: queer? Queer. In every sense of the word. I think most people view him as bi 💕🟣💙 which I agree with (Lily and Mulciber, also absolutely headcanon him having a crush on both Lucius AND Narcissa) but also I think he’s a little bit gender funky- I mean just look at him- no one who stands like that isn’t just cis /ref. Sev absolutely painted his nails and did eyeliner, he absolutely wore a floor length black skirt and absolutely had days where mister hit wrong in all the right places and everyone in her group helped by doing tiny things like braiding her hair and putting bat clips in it for fun 🏳️‍⚧️

Anger burned in Lucius’ chest for the first time in years as he stared into the flames of his stone fireplace in his room. The tumbler of fire whiskey swirled in its glass as he took another long draw, shooting the rest of it in a single pull before nearly slamming the glass on to the solid wood of the table.

It'd been years since he felt anything other than melancholy, and yet, this Mudblood managed to stoke his ire in just one moment. Despite how long it had been, the anguish of Narcissa’s death remained fresh. Some nights, it felt as if it was a lifetime ago that she was taken, while pain practically tricked him into believing that it just happened earlier that day.

How dare she bring up Narcissa. She had no right to mention her, or what happened to her. How could she possibly make such an assumption without even knowing the kind of woman his wife was? Narcissa was the light in Lucius’ dark days, the person that saw the world the same as Lucius. The person who also understood the severity of the new trajectory of their lives once Voldemort took residence in the Manor that year.

When the Dark Lord had Draco take his vow as a Death Eater in his place while he rotted in Azkaban, it was like the world suddenly flipped upside down. Never did he think that his son would take the vow so soon, and all because of his failure at the Ministry. With his son pulled into the fold, no longer did he care about what their cause was. They only cared to see that their son lived, by any means necessary.

A strange thought passed over Lucius, freezing him. What reason would his son have to not tell him about his personal interactions with his former professor? Was it because he was simply embarrassed that he was failing Astronomy, and that he was offered assistance by a Muggle-born? Lucius feared that it may be something more, but it was only a whisper of a conclusion. He needed to see more before he assumed anything worse.

The sudden chime from the grandfather clock in the corner of the room pulled him from his thoughts, chiming six times before stopping. A long sigh left him as he stared back into the fire, contemplating all that he had done in his life to lead up to the one that he had now. He set the glass tumbler on to one of the wooden coasters before standing, foregoing his usual overcoat to leave him in just his black silk blended button down and back trousers. He’d found himself letting go a bit more at home than when he had Narcissa around. In the back of his mind, he knew that it was because he didn’t see a reason to be put together when there is no one around to appear as such.

Draco was already sitting at the dining table when Lucius walked in, wearing a similar outfit to his him. Silence encased the room as Lucius took his seat at the head of the table like always, the pair rarely ever having anything to say to each other anymore. But knowing now what he knew about his son’s connection with the witch in the basement, Lucius was curious to what his son actually felt about her.

His eyes flitted up to study his son as he stared at the table, unmoving. Draco’s eyes distantly stared holes into the wood, his mind elsewhere.

“Draco,” Lucius started, his pointer finger tapping rhythmically on the solid wood of the table, “there was a rather odd memory that I extracted from the witch. Do you recall your midterm examination for her Astronomy class?”

Silence stretched once again through the room as Draco continued to stare at the table before he finally glanced over at his father, almost bored. He sighed, shifting his weight in his chair to appear nonchalant as he rolled his eyes.

“I know what you’re asking about; it wasn’t anything of importance. She was a Hufflepuff with a savior complex who felt that she could help and befriend everyone. It was just her nature,” Draco answered, letting his eyes wander to the ceiling, staring into the intricate painting spread across it.

The pair went back to ignoring each other, well, more so Draco ignored Lucius, focusing on his dinner before he excused himself to his rooms, leaving the older man with his thoughts once again. Lucius sighed, reclining into his chair and rested his head in his hand, rubbing his eyes. It was in moments like these where he couldn’t help but achingly wish for his wife to be here. Draco had been so distant from him in the years since her death, disregarding his presence almost entirely, and only speaking to him unless spoken to. There was also a sinking feeling in his gut that he was closer with the witch in his cellar than he was letting on, and he feared that because of what he would have to do, it may just be the tipping point for his son.

Mimsy took care in bathing you in the claw foot tub, gently washing and combing through your tangled hair, leaving no traces of what your life had consisted of before. Since leaving the cellar, your anger had cooled away into stone, leaving you in limbo, like nothing was real. You were numb to feeling anything, and honestly, you didn’t mind it.

Once clean, the elf disappeared and returned with a folded black towel in one hand and a midnight blue silk night dress in the other, to which she draped over the back of the vanity chair while you dried off. You remained quiet during her visit with you. While you dressed, Mimsy Apparated only for a minute before she came back with a tray of food in her hands, containing roasted chicken, green beans, potatoes, and a dinner roll. Although it all looked delicious, your stomach rolled at the sight of it. Mimsy sat it down in the guest room at the table before coming back.

“Is Miss needin’ anything else?” she asked, her large green eyes staring up at you.

You softly shook your head, your still-wet tendrils of hair swaying with the motion. “No, thank you, Mimsy. I’m fine.”

The elf looked up at you, unbelieving, but nodded, nonetheless.

“Just call if you be needin’ anything.”

She disappeared with a pop, leaving you with an empty room and your thoughts to keep you company.

Standing in the large and ornately decorated room in a silk shift made you long for a simple large worn cotton shirt and shorts something bad, for the simple comfort of something familiar. You still felt as if all of this was a dream. Perhaps you were in a magically induced coma since the end of the war, and Harry won against Voldemort, and you were only in St. Mungo’s where everyone was just waiting for you to wake.

The fantasy made your heart ache, and your lower lip trembled as tears burned in your eyes. But this was reality, one where you were now magically bound to Lucius Malfoy, where you would be defiled for his own enjoyment, and your mind would be flayed away day by day in search of the answers that he was looking for. Your body was no longer your own, and every memory and thought would be splayed open for him to sneer at.

A dark, ugly feeling began to fester in your chest. It made your hands shake and mouth go dry. You rushed into the bathroom, flipping open the faucet and grabbing a crystal tumbler from the tray next to you, letting it fill with water. Once filled, you threw your head back, chugging the cool water until it was empty, and you sat the glass back down, staring at the white counter. Then, after avoiding it all night, you finally looked up into the mirror.

You could hardly recognize the woman that peered back; her hair considerably duller than what you remembered, eyes sunken, and covered in bruises and old and scabbing cuts. Then, on her arm, you caught the scar that you tried so hard to forget about.

MUDBLOOD.

With a raging bellow, you picked up the glass from the countertop and chucked it at the mirror, shattering them into hundreds of pieces, spilling over onto the marble floors of the bathroom. Rage and agony bubbled up inside and spilled over as heaving sobs, leaving your face sweaty and slick, your hair sticking to the surface of it. As your feet moved to steady you, the shards bit through the skin of your heels in tiny, sharp flicks of fire.

How were you supposed to keep hopeful in such a hopeless situation? You had no autonomy, no magic, no help. Was this all it was going to take to break you? Just a simple glance in the mirror at a reflection of a scar that you had seen for years now? There were others out there being tortured every waking second, and you were here collapsing in on yourself.

Be brave, Sunny, Tonks’ voice whispered in your head, bringing a new wave of tears, but this time, in grief. The memory of her body crumpling to the ground next to you in that field at Hogwarts was burned into your mind, the shrieking laughs from Bellatrix bouncing around.

Your godson’s sweet face looking up at you morphed from his mother’s, as you remembered the last day you spent with him in Edinburgh. You left him with Luna before you went to Belfast nearly three months ago, and it wasn’t long after that you were chased to Germany.

Grief bubbled up deep in your chest, festering until it spilled over. Your face twisted in agony, the dam bursting as streams poured from your eyes, and a wail ripping from your lips. Your body shook with the force of the sobs, and your fingers threaded through the roots of your hair, tugging painfully. You screamed again, but this time in shock as someone popped into your room.

Through the doorway, Lucius stood in your room, looking around frantically. It took only moments for him to find you with your hands raised around your face. He froze as he saw the smudges of bloody footprints from the shattered mirror. Ten thousand assumptions came to mind, but the thought that you might be trying to kill yourself stood out the most.

Like a switch had been flipped, his face pinched in anger. In great strides, he stalked into the bathroom, his eyes set on you. Panic filled you, and your heart raced as you stumbled away from him, wincing as shards of glass dug into the soles of your feet. He reached you quickly, both of his hands wrapping around your forearms, effectively trapping you.

“Are you mad, or just simply stupid? Did you think I wouldn’t know if you took an attempt on your life?” he seethed, his face mere inches from your own.

His silver eyes had turned into molten metal with the heat of his anger, and you couldn’t do anything except stare back, your own wide in fear and disbelief.

“What?” you whispered.

“Do you take me as an idiot, is that it?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

“I forbid you to kill yourself!”

The effect was immediate. Your eyes widened as the feeling washed over you, your anger morphing into horror at he can just simply bark a command that can alter you forever. It felt as if a cold chain wrapped around your insides and squeezed until it couldn’t anymore before the sensation faded away. Though, once it did, your anger returned tenfold.

“I wasn’t trying to kill myself, you fucking moron! Had I wanted a quick death, I would have slit my wrists before you even knew.”

Lucius’ hands were still wrapped around your wrists, holding them up and to his chest, and his face remained ever so close, his eyes staring intently into your own. You both breathed heavily, angrily staring into the eyes of the other. It wasn’t for another heartbeat that you realized that Lucius’ bare fingers were wrapped around the very scar that sent you to the edge of hysteria. You stiffened immediately before wrenching your arms from his grasp, twisting the one to where he wouldn’t be able to see the maimed side of it.

Now set apart from each other, Lucius regathered himself, holding himself tall amongst the destruction caused by the witch in front of him.

“Mimsy!” he shouted, and the House Elf appeared less than a breath later, looking up at her master in fear. Your eyes dropped down to the cowering creature, and your heart sank in guilt, realizing that your moment of coming unhinged caused this for her.

“Please see that this room is spotless, and see to it that this women doesn’t cause anymore messes,” he seethed, before turning on his heels, stalking out of your chambers.

Those dreadful Deatheater meetings always sent a pit to your stomach and your mind into a frenzy.

You were at Malfoy Manor for the summer (Draco had insisted). But every time they had one of those damned meetings, you scurried upstairs, slamming the door to your room and collapsing on the floor, hyperventilating and tears running down your face.

This time it was so bad, you couldn’t keep your hands still, they were so shaky. And the next thing you knew, you were lightly scratching your arm in circular patterns. It felt slightly soothing, like a calming second in the chaos. But soon, the overwhelming feeling came back, so you scratched harder. Again and again this cycle repeated, until both of your arms were all scratched up and bloody. You began to panic again and reached for your available thighs. But just as you got to scratching those, a knock came from behind you.

Your eyes widened and your breath hitched. You quickly got up and scurried over to your bed, making sure to cover your arms with the covers. The person knocked again.

“Darlin’…? It’s me, Aunty Cissy (Mrs. Malfoy had insisted you call her ‘Cissy’)” her soft, southern voice spoke.

“Would it be alright’ if I come in…?”

“Yea sorry come in…!” You croaked, your voice rough from your crying.

Cissy entered the room, with her hips swaying a bit faster than usual and concern written all over her face. You were embarrassed and ashamed and you couldn’t meet her gaze. Everything immediately clicked for the blonde.

“Darlin’… Are you alright’…?” She gently asked, approaching the bed slowly.

You shook your head, trying to keep the tears from starting to fall again but failing. Instinctually, you went to rub the tears from your face, and that’s when she saw them. You immediately realized what you’d done and scurried your arms back under the covers.

“Don’t do that... Let me see you.” Cissy concerningly tutted, coming quickly over to the bed.

You gulped and pulled your arms out. Cissy’s eyes widened and she was quick to pull the rest of the cover away to also reveal your partially scratched up thighs.

“Oh Darlin’…”

Cissy looked at you with caring and distraught eyes. She then left to go into the bathroom and came back with some medical supplies.

“Let me clean you up…” she mumbled, like caring for you was her second nature.

You let the southern woman clean off your wounds and bandage them up until she was satisfied. Then she went to put the supplies away, coming soon back and standing by the bed.

“Scooch.”

You did as you were told, scooching over without another word. Cissy promptly joined you on your bed, opening her arms for you to fall into, which you did so instinctually. The two of you passed time with Cissy caressing you in her hold, while your breathing slowly evened out. Eventually Cissy broke the silence.

“I’m here if you wanna talk about it, sweet thing…” her sultry yet gentle tone reassured you.

You nodded and recognition of her words, and simply nuzzled even further into her frame. Cissy took your gesture and lovingly kissed your forehead.

“Get some rest, Darlin’. I’ll be here when you wake up…” She gently spoke, as you drifted off into a calm, undisturbed sleep.

Draco Malfoy/Harry Potter (aka Drarry); enemies/rivals to lovers, blond x ravenette, they basically set the precedent for every ship I pick up like a stray cat these days.

Bakugou Katsuki/Midoriya Izuku (Bakudeku): Enemies to lovers, plus constantly on each other's mind as a motivation in one way or the other. I love them so much.

Mikage Reo/Nagi Seishiro (NagiReo): one of my current hyperfixations, mainly cuz they're one of the few ships I have that wasn't introduced as rivals from the start as well as being extremely close canonically. They click so well despite their miscommunication (more like no communication but I'll probably get to that another day).

Gojo Saturou/Itadori Yuuji (GoYuu): Most of my blog will you a clue already lol.

Sukuna/Itadori Yuuji (SukuIta): Number one toxic ship rn, but would you believe I prefer their siblings falling in forbidden love trope?

Mikaela Hyakuya/Yuuichiro Hyakuya (MikaYuu): Found family lovers that will give anything for each other? Sign me up.

Hideyoshi Nagachika/Ken Kaneki (Hidekane): Receiving Tokyo ghoul spoilers of how things ended kept from finishing the show or starting the manga, what even is the point .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·.

Draken/Mikey/Takemichi & Draken/Mikey: DraMiTake is something I'd consume if I find it cuz I read this one precious fic I will forever cherise but DraMikey has way too much angst potential on its own. Tugs my heart to know Draken keeps Mikey grounded.

Imo, there’s a real deficit of male characters to ship with Harry and considering that he’s clearly bisexual, that just won’t do.

And then I heard about Rolf Scamander’s initial involvement in the plot of Deathly Hallows. Some people theorise that he fulfilled what was eventually Xenophilius’s role, ie, telling the trio about the Hallows.

So… he’s an eligible bachelor (sorry Luna! I just headcanon you as aroace like me), he’s got a cool wolf-coded name… Imo, he must’ve been older than the trio and personally I think it makes sense for Harry to date someone with a slight age gap? It just seems like something he’d do. Anyways, I imagine him as being both very serious and very whimsical, adventure-seeking, compassionate, principled…

So let’s all collectively agree to retroactively put him in the Malfoy Manor dungeons and have him join the trio while robbing Gringotts. I feel like Rolf helps him bury Dobby and this earns him a kind of awkward soft spot. Then he like leads the dragon to safety… etc etc. He shows up at the Battle of Hogwarts. Kicks ass etc etc.

Then, after everything goes down, Harry and Ginny’s relationship collapses (huzzah! Sorry Hinny shippers) and Romione conviently piss off to Australia, Harry finds himself escaping away with Rolf.

Just picture the pleasant surprise for Portrait Albus Dumbledore! I hate Fantastic Beasts and imo that Newt Scamander was just a lazy combination of Harry and Hagrid, but I do imagine Newt as being one of Dumbledore’s favourites, just beneath Minerva and above idk Alastor Moody?

I just think that a name like Rolf Scamander should be put to good use and I want Harry to have a boyfriend that he doesn’t have to leave in the past!

That's a pretty neat idea! I have to commend you for doing something with one of the many characters that JKR kind of pulled out of nowhere to ship with her most prominent canon characters (Draco, Luna, etc.). Not that the fandom isn't guilty of that sin too. (hi, Daphne Greengrass!)

Hard agree that Harry is bisexual (his lack of real chemistry with Ginny doesn't make him immune to women imo), hard agree that he needs to be shipped with more of his contemporaries besides Draco and time-travel!Tom (Ron, Neville, Cedric, Dean and Seamus are all right there), hard agree that h*nny doesn't work at all, annnd hard agree that Albus probably had a soft spot for Newt Scamander back in the day... but so do I! I can't disparage him. I adore that little nerd.

Although I won't post much about it here since this is mainly a Harry-and-Albus centric blog, I did want to give this ship a shout-out and post! It's been a while since I've seen a new ship pop up in HP. (And tbh, I haven't given Rolf a single thought since that time I read him in a Luna/Hermione/Rolf fic that was really good.)

Portrait Albus would definitely be thrilled at a Harry/Rolf match, though. I personally enjoy the angst involved in mismatched temporal partners, but we know anything that makes Harry happy makes Albus happy, even if it's dead-remnant-on-canvas Albus.
