Fanfic you ve been reading recently? Love your tastes btw!
:) You sent this months ago, but here are the fics that I've been reading recently, like this August/September:
"The Mission" by Lunawrayth - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It wasn't that Hinata never expected to work with Naruto, just never on a mission quite like this.
-I check this one for updates so often. at least once a week, but more like multiple times a week.
"thus a silenced memory" by @keroppri - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Eight years flown on by and Naruto makes his return to the city where he once fell in love, only for him to leave hollow and broken after she was persuaded to leave him. Plagued by her memory at every corner, a chance meeting changes fates, minds, and hearts. Thus he tries to silence the memories. Inspired and based on Jane Austen's Persuasion.
-ahhh loving the yearning angst of unrequited love (but it's actually requited) in this fic.
"Amaranthine" by @opttagoyeo - Rated T, Various AU, Series of unrelated one-shots. A few drabbles/ideas ranging from fluff, confusing, humor, and angst regarding the most iconic and popular canon couple of Konohagakure, Naruhina.
-just started reading this! Full of cuteness.
"After Office Hours" by Pandora_Imperatrix - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Complete. Naruto is lonely after Sakura and Sasuke left the village to travel together, he keeps leaving the office later and later, things start to change after one night when his secretary Hinata and him share a couple of vending machine beers. In this AU Naruto becomes Hokage a lot earlier than in the manga and The Last never happened.
-It's been years since this was updated, and recently Pandora updated and just finished it!!!!!!
"Friends with benefits" by @pastillesch - Rated T, Modern AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. "I'm dumping you" --Naruto blinked once. Twice. "But we're not even together". It was more a stress relief than anything romantic, really. A hobby one would say. And now it was time to search for a new hobby. Or at least a new partner for this kind of hobby.
-Another one that I was super excited to see updated again!!!!
"Casual Touches" by Lunawrayth - Rated M, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. It's the casual touches that do it.
-Since I'm really feeling Luna's style, I checked out this story, too, and it's super cute. Love it.
"Fairy Tale" from "NaruHina Erotica Oneshots" by @makuro767 - Rated E, Fantasy AU, Two-shot. Naruto moved to an old family home to start anew and found an unlikely existence in his backyard...
-I am a total sucker for this type of size difference au. Like, it's just such a weird trope. It's just so weird. I love it. Makuro767 does a wonderful job with it!
"Love Is Not A Cage" by @nightowl27-writer - Rated E, Canon-Divergent AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. When Naruto comes back to his senses after the battle with Pein, the first thing he remembers are those baffling words she said just before she nearly died for him, and he NEEDS to hear them again. Will the truth set them free? Or are some confessions too much for the soul?
-that recent update killed me. In a good way. but oh man.
"Hinata (Mirror, Mirror)" from "Chicken Ramen for the Pervert's Soul" by @wickermayne - Rated E, Canon-Compliant, One-shot. Naruto rolled his eyes at the purchase asking why she needed it and complained about how much room it took up, but Hinata enjoyed modeling different dresses in front of it, loved how it let her see all the many different angles. And that seemed to keep Naruto quiet enough about the mirror.
-🙊🙈🔥
So, I guess it's been months since I worked on this list. Because it's nearing the end of March 2024 now. And up at the top, apparently I was last working on this list in September 2023. And at that time, it had been "months" since the asker sent this. Well, here's the ones I've been reading recently:
"clash of possession - naruhina" by @powerful-niya - Rated E, Yakuza AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. In the heart of the yakuza underworld of Tokyo, the passing of Hiashi, the leader of the Hyūga clan, does more than just break Hinata's heart, but it exposes her to vulnerability. Seizing the opportunity, the ruthless Naruto, Uzumaki clan leader, targets not only the conquest of the Hyūga clan but also wishes to claim Hinata as his most prized possession, no matter the cost.
-It's been awhile since I read an irredeemable Naruto, and Niya's not lying when she calls the characterization ruthless!!
"Prey" by @sessakag - Rated E, Modern/Gangs AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Following a midnight chance encounter with Hinata Hyuuga, a smitten sociopath, Naruto Uzumaki, tries his hand at romance, determined to make her fall in love with him the only way he knows how.
-it's the mystery of Hinata's background that really fuels this piece for me. Icing on the cake is Naruto as a wonderfully sexy and dangerous stranger and the sexual tension between them that is absolutely exquisite.
"Paper Rings" by Its_Levioooosaa - Rated E, College/Soulmates AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. In a world where soulmates are found after a touch and after a brief moment of pain, resulting in a red loop circling the first knuckle of each person's pinky finger. Fating the two people together and leaving it up to them to decide what their relationship will be. Hinata had just stopped at her friends for a piece of pizza, little did she know that she'd be leaving with a soulmate.
-It's a cute premise and I can't wait to see what happens next! I love a good soulmate AU!
"Wanting More Than A Poolside View" by @bunny-hoodlum - Rated E, High School AU, Multi-chapter, Ongoing. Just a Sukumizu fetish scenario where Hinata is the target of a panty thief and recruits Naruto to investigate himself.
-I've been loving all of Bunny's updates this year, but I'm really hoping for an update on this one....or Narutoland haha, but I dunno what it is about High School NaruHina and their immaturity, it's just so fun!
Kay, that's all. If I don't post this now, I never will lol.

A sneak peek
Fandom: Naruto Pairing/starring: Uchiha Itachi x fem!reader Word count: 1006 Content: Smut without plot, kind of voyeurism, getting off in public, maybe out-of-character behaviour, probably something I’ve forgotten. A/N: Drabble-esque. Inspired by a random thought from Maladaptive-Ninja-Returns so blame her.
A sneak peek
... Itachi ...
He knows that he ought to stay away from Konohagakure. Anytime he shows up, it’s a risk to him and in extension to the Akatsuki. But he has too many arguments for why he must come and why no one else can do what he does in Konoha and so he has returned “home” once more.
Idly wandering through the city, Itachi adjusts the simple disguise while ticking off his accomplishments on a mental list:
- Get in through the hidden path that none of the other Akatsuki know about. Check. - Confirm that Danzo is still up to his usual business. Check. - Listen in on assignment distribution with the Hokage. Check.
And the more personal ones:
- Check out the old Uchiha neighbourhood, spending a few minutes in the room where he sealed his brother’s fate. Check. - Follow said revenge-hungry little brother for a while, watching him train with a fury reserved for those fuelled by hate. Check.
Now there’s only one more thing left to do and he’s well on the way to accomplish that too which is visiting a specific little tea house where they make the best jasmine tea. Self-indulgent, maybe, but he thinks he deserves a bit of a treat.
It’s a busy little place but he’s fortunate to get a seat in the corner where he has a nice view of the interior with the comings and goings of patrons. Glancing around, his eyes meet those of a woman sitting in the corner near the entrance but he quickly averts his gaze, knowing better than to risk leaving a lasting impression. He’s seen enough to know that she’s gorgeous, though. If circumstances had been different, he might have tried his luck with this beauty but as things are, he has to be discreet.
That’s why he’s concerned when he glances in her direction again and finds her openly staring at him. Well, not staring at him...more like through him. The pretty mouth slightly agape, her chest is rising and falling faster than would be expected, and Itachi worries that this stranger somehow has recognized him.
Thankfully, a skilled Uchiha can deal with this situation without creating a fuss and he fixes his gaze on hers. Even in the dim light, he can see colours in her eyes that most people would miss and he allows himself to enjoy it before diving deep into her mind.
Dōjutsu.
Under normal circumstances, Itachi would imprint his own visions into the target’s mind, ensnaring them in a world of his creation where they could be trapped for what could seem like days on end. This time, however, he doesn’t get as far as to do anything because he’s taken aback by what he sees:
It’s the tea house...but there are no other patrons left to witness what is going on. Clothes haphazardly pulled aside, the woman is lying on a table with her legs wrapped around the waist of Itachi himself as he rails her – there’s nothing tender about it and so it’s the only appropriate term he can come up with. Each thrust of his hips makes the woman groan and babble. She’s keening and begging fore more. Her hands are scrabbling for purchase and with the power behind Itachi’s trusts, he knows that it’s only the grip on her hips that is preventing her from careening off the table and onto the floor.
Baffled by the display, the real Itachi simply watches, acutely aware of the growing need that he’s true body is starting to feel.
Never once do they use each others’ name, not even as she spasms around her Itachi’s cock, making him stutter in his ministrations and grit his teeth. The real Itachi knows that he must be on the verge of cumming and is surprised to see the dream him pull out and get on his knees to lap at the woman. Slow and careful, he cleans her like this and coaxes her down until her breath evens once more.
“More, please,” she whispers and Itachi sees his own smirk on the figment of imagination.
Merging with her daydream, Itachi’s point of view changes to be looking down at the ruined woman. Breasts spilling out of clothes that are askew. Puffy lips. Eyes that are swallowed by lust.
He wants to feel her, have her.
Leaning down, he plants a languid kiss on her mouth before whispering: “Come with me, when I ask you.”
And with that he enters her in one swift thrust.
... Reader ...
Shaking yourself back to reality, you’re first hit with a wave of satisfaction. Your core is throbbing, so close to the edge like you’ve never been before from a simple daydream. No...this isn’t being on the edge, you realize. This is from coming down! Imagination has made you climax? Oh, but what a daydream.
Blinking, the world is brought into focus once more and you notice the handsome stranger looking right at you, a smirk on his lips. You must have been staring! For how long? It feels like a long time, but you know that time is an illusion when it comes to the games the mind can play and so you try to brush the nagging thought of having stared creepily at a stranger for hours aside.
With shaking hands, you reach for the remainder of your tea only to find that it’s gone cold.
Something makes you look up and there’s the stranger, standing right next to you. Your heart begins to race now that you can pick up his scent and you recognize it from the last half of your daydream.
He bends, lips brushing your ear, to whisper: “Thank you for your lively imagination...how about we go elsewhere so it won’t only be a daydream?”
You’re stunned at the offer but even more so at how perfectly it fits with what you’d imagined might happen and you find yourself putting the teacup down and accepting the stranger’s hand.

Hello, Lemony! I hope you're having a great day.
Here's a soft promt for u: accidentally saying " i love you" too early, but the other pulls them in for a kiss and says it back
I'm always looking forward to your works 😊 Love you ❤️❤️
hello, my dear. thanks so much for your kind words! i hope you're having a wonderful day/night wherever you are, and that this little ficlet brings you some joy. <3
send me a soft prompt and i’ll write a drabble
You are smitten.
Not that it's a surprise, really. Who wouldn't be?
Kakashi Hatake is somehow the perfect combination of everything you've ever wanted in a partner.
Strong and hardworking, smart and thoughtful, silly and a little strange. He can as easily slaughter a powerful enemy as perfectly quote Icha Icha. He spends as much time training hard enough most of your fellow shinobi would pass out as rolling in the mud with his more playful ninken, allowing them to slobber all over his vest and mask.
You've always known these things about him, of course. But it's different when you're so close to him. And even though it's taken years for you to work up the courage, somehow--finally--you have managed to convince him to go out with you.
It's your third date and you're watching him carefully sip tea from the saucer you packed for your picnic, angling your eyes down to offer him the privacy he hasn't asked for, but you're still willing to provide.
When he wants you to see his face in full, you're certain he'll let you know.
The date is sort of a disaster, to be honest. You meant to prepare a homemade bento, but ended up swamped with work and rushing out to the nearest restaurant to snag something for takeout before heading home to change in a flash.
You're fairly certain you still smell like antiseptic, despite your best efforts.
But Kakashi appears content with his onigiri and miso soup, and is especially thankful for the green tea you managed to brew just in time and pour into a canteen, splashing plenty of it along your counter in your haste.
One thing you're glad for is that Kakashi always seems just as nervous and unsure of all this as you do. You notice the hint of a blush on his cheeks when you compliment him on anything, the way he averts his eyes when you meet his gaze unexpectedly.
It's strange, seeing the normally assured Copy Ninja so flustered. But it lets you know you're not alone in your fumbling, at least.
When he finishes his tea, Kakashi situates himself against the trunk of the tree at your backs, gesturing for you to join him. You do, sliding up closer, but with a few millimeters of carefully maintained space between your bodies, so your legs aren't quite touching.
"This was a great idea," he says.
Your heart flutters at the warm timbre of his voice so close to your ear.
"I'm glad you like it."
In truth, a picnic felt incredibly juvenile when you suggested it, but you'd noticed how uncomfortable Kakashi was during your last date at a busy restaurant. As you thought it might still be too soon to invite him over to your place for a meal, this seemed a good compromise.
You try to stifle a yawn to little avail and hear your companion chuckle.
"You can..." he clears his throat, "you can rest your head on my shoulder, if you like."
You feel a rush of heat through your body as your brain searches desperately for a response.
"Ah-okaythanks," is the best it comes up with and you wince.
As you settle your head against Kakashi's shoulder, though, it feels right, even if it's also unexpectedly intimate. The sun is just beginning to set over Konohagakure and the sky is awash in deep oranges and pinks, a lovely contrast to the dark green of the trees surrounding you.
You close your eyes take a long, slow breath, letting the contentment of the moment seep through you.
You stop thinking and allow yourself to just be.
Which is how you manage to make a complete and utter fool of yourself in the next moment when you close you mutter, "I think I love you."
You feel Kakashi's shoulder tense immediately and your eyes snap open as you sit up and back away, putting as much space between you as you can without literally running away.
It is your third date. And you just--
Oh gods.
"I-I mean! I didn't! That's not--" You fumble for words but all that comes out are garbled sounds that don't mean anything.
You cain't say you love him! What were you thinking?! Sure you've known him a lot longer than you'd been dating him, and probably your feelings are stronger than his because you recognized them a long time ago. It's just taken years to work up the courage to ask him out, but still!
Your brain scrambles, but the incomprehensible word vomit continues, unfiltered and unabated. Kakashi says nothing. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit!
You're still stuttering meaningless nonsense when you feel strong hands frame your face, and soft lips press against your own.
You're frozen. Completely. Because this... this is certainly not what you expected; for your lame and mistimed admission to result in your very first kiss with Kakashi Hatake.
This kiss is quite brief and when he pulls away, you don't avert your eyes, instead drinking in the sight of Kakashi with his mask loosely pooled around his neck.
His cheeks are red, but he's smiling softly.
"I think I might love you, too," he says.
All you can manage in response is a dumbfounded, "Huh?" before he kisses you again. It takes only a second before your fingers find their way into his hair, pulling him forward with a soft grunt as you deepen the kiss.
Because if this is the first time you kiss him, you want him to remember it. You want it to be the best first kiss he's ever had.
The last one, too, hopefully.

An Over-Enthusiastic Beast
Just a short drabble of a reader insert suffering from morning sickness whilst Gai is a good, yet overly-enthusiastic, boyfriend who is just trying his best because DAMNIT this man can do no wrong!
This is the first thing I’ve written for like 3 years, and my first ever reader insert so all criticism is valued! Hope everyone is well and staying safe
(1,216 words)
Strong hands gently caressed your back as you heaved into an empty toilet bowl. Moaning as another wave of nausea hit you, you rested your head on the seat and closed your eyes. You tried to focus on your breathing, concentrating on the muted whisperings of your beloved as he continued to draw circles on your back, his breath occasionally tickling your ear. This had been your morning routine for roughly a week now and you were sick of it, although you deeply appreciated Gai’s dedication as he was always there to offer words of encouragement and support.
Gai placed a soft kiss on the top of your head, “y/n, how are you feeling? Is there anything you need? Water? Something to eat? Maybe a-” he faltered as you retched loudly, returning to dutifully stroking your back.
“Mmmm… Gai” you murmured, turning your back on the toilet to bury your head into his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, holding you in a tight embrace as he peppered your head with soft kisses. You sighed into him, it was these moments with Gai you treasured the most. You felt so safe wrapped in his muscular arms, nothing bad could happen when you were enveloped within his immense warmth. “Can we go back to bed, please?” You asked, your voice sounding much more hoarse than you anticipated.
“Of course my flower” Gai whispered, carefully picking you up and cradling you in his arms as he slowly made his way back to bed. He placed you down gently, climbing in next to you, squeezing you gently as he pulled the duvet up and over your heads. You giggled as you felt his breath tickle the back of your neck.
“Don’t let me stop you from doing your morning training, I’ll still be here by the time you get back” you playfully elbowed his stomach, rolling over to press a gentle kiss on his nose
Gai scrunched his nose in response, “I couldn’t possibly train knowing that my beautiful blossom is suffering!” You winced slightly, Gai had always struggled with maintaining a consistent volume, you didn’t usually mind, in fact, you usually found it adorable. The way he could get passionate about everything still made your heart flutter. Just last week he had excitedly shouted a monologue about the joys of puddles after you had tripped over in one. Unfortunately, your current nauseous state and the beginnings of a headache were not compatible with the sudden increase in volume. Gai noticed your slight reaction and began murmuring apologies as he buried his head into the back of your neck;
“Ah my beautiful y/n I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to- are you okay? I didn’t mean to cause you any discomfort-”
You shushed him, sighing deeply as you felt his arms wrap around you. Closing your eyes you began to slowly drift off.
“y/n?”
“Mmmmph?” You jolted awake, shifting your body so you could face Gai, your hands reached out in the darkness to cup his face, “What is it, love?”
“Well… I was just wondering…” His voice faltered, you frowned. It was very unlike Gai to seem unsure of himself.
“You know you can ask me anything right?” you pulled his face gently towards your own, pressing a soft kiss on his lips as you weaved your hands through his thick hair, gently massaging his scalp. He responded by lightly grabbing your wrists, guiding your hands to his lips so he could plant a delicate kiss on each of your fingers before clasping them in his own much larger (and warmer) hands.
“When was the last time you had your period?”
You jerked into an upright sitting position, throwing off the duvet to stare at the bemused looking man lying next to you.
“What? You don’t think...?” Your voice trailed off and you bit your lip. Thinking about it, your last period was meant to have started two weeks ago. You’d dismissed its absence, telling yourself it was probably due to stress or something. “Well… I mean…” You stuttered, turning your head away from Gai, a deep red blush adorning your cheeks. You felt Gai shift next to you, his arm slowly reached around your shoulders as he pulled you into his chest, giving you a tender squeeze.
“But there’s a chance you could be… Pregnant?” Gai’s voice strained slightly, you could tell he was resisting the urge to shout.
“We won’t know for certain until I take a test but… Yes, I could be pregnant” you mumbled, withdrawing slightly from his embrace as you placed your hands on his shoulders and raised your head so your eyes could meet his own. Even in the darkness, you could see the light blush which adorned his face, you felt his hands gently stroke your sides, they slowly moved upwards until they reached your face. He gently traced your jawline before he cupped your cheeks and pulled you into an intense, yet soft kiss. You returned the gesture, wrapping your hands around the back of his head and pulling him towards yourself, deepening the kiss. You felt his lips twitch in a smile before he gently pulled away, caressing your lower lip with his thumb.
Suddenly, in one swift movement, Gai launched himself out of bed, landing heavily on his feet. You looked at him, a bemused smile appearing on your face.
“Gai sweetheart, what the Hell are you doing?”
Gai laughed heartily, grinning he stuck his thumb up at you performing his signature ‘nice guy’ pose.
“Why my blossom! I’m going to get you a pregnancy test of course!” He laughed again. Before you even had the chance to respond he’d exited the room, pausing for a second as he pulled his dressing gown from its hanger. You sighed, glancing at your alarm clock you saw the time. 5:47 am. Pulling the duvet around yourself you slowly trailed behind your boyfriend who was in the process of unlocking the front door.
“Gai! It’s too early! The shops won’t be open!” you protested weakly, “come back to bed, we can go later.”
“Nonsense y/n! The day is in the prime of its youth!” Gai bellowed as he opened the front door, turning back to wave at you as he began a fast sprint in the direction of the Konohagakure market. You shuffled as quickly as you could to the open door, “At least put some shoes on!” You shouted. Alas! Your pleas fell on deaf ears, all you could do was stand there helplessly and watch as the Green beast of the Hidden Leaf ran wildly into the sunrise, his dark green dressing gown billowing out behind him as he slowly faded into the horizon.

The Daughter of Sound Emerges
It’s quiet. Calm. The sun shines brightly and a lazy breeze ruffles the trees above, waking several leaves from an afternoon nap. They flutter to the ground in a lazy spiral, landing silently by her feet. She might not have noticed them, but leaves tend to tug at her heart in the way painful memories do; they remind her of the only place that’s ever felt like home.
She sucks in a small breath and stills her trembling nerves. All these years later, and her lineage still weighs on her as it did when she was a child. Sometimes even more so; the ifs, ands or buts that used hang over her head like a dark cloud have since sprung up around her like gangly weeds: her mission is over. There is no one left to report to (no one who matters, anyway.) Her past and present have spiraled towards the only path ahead: the future.
She exhales, surprised yet not by the burn in her lungs; she must have held her breath longer than intended. Her dark hair tickles her cheek and a bittersweet smile pulls at her lip as she steps out of the shadows.
"Hey,” she says, her voice louder in her ears than expected (when was the last time she’d held a real conversation?) Her hands feel lost and restless at her sides. She tucks them behind her back.
“It’s been a while,” she continues. “But I’m still here. Still figuring all of this out.” She wonders, as she often does, just how brightly her eyes shine in the sunlight; gold and slit like a snake’s, they’re predator and alien to anyone who didn’t spend their youth in Konohagakure. Sometimes she wishes she could return to those days; hide behind a mask and take in the world through a sea-green haze. Alas, wishing is for children and she’s not a child anymore. They know who she is now. She can never go back.
“I know what you’re thinking,” she says, speaking slowly, combing through any loose nerves. “I look familiar, but something’s not right. You're right.” She bites her thumb until it bleeds, a trick she’d learned from a traitor many years ago. Her hands come together effortlessly; signs so ingrained in her memory she could do them in her sleep (she’s sure she has, at some point.)
The air around her ripples for a moment, and like night yielding to dawn, her reptilian features disappear: in their place, a healthy flush, pink hair and aqua-green eyes.
"Transformation jutsu,” Sakura says and if there’s a note of bitterness, it can’t be helped. She’d worn her second skin so long, it had almost become her truth. Almost.
“My father knew better than to leave a snake-eyed girl at Konoha’s gate. He’d have Anbu knocking down his door in a heartbeat.” It occurs to her, as it often does the rare times she’s graced with conversation, that she’s speaking in riddles. Her chest tightens. She hadn’t learned that from Orochimaru.
Sakura’s hands separate long enough to smear blood across her left palm. She brings them back together - in a different seal, this time - and the mask falls away once again.
“There’s more to my story than what you’ve been told. I did grow up in the Hidden Leaf village, and I was trained by Tsunade for awhile...but my father’s death took my allegiance with it.” She pauses, and her expression darkens. “I don’t belong there, anymore.”
She drops her arms and steps away; her brown dress, styled with a purple Ouroboros on the back, sways in the wind along with her black hair.
“That’s all I can tell you right now,” she says, scanning her surroundings carefully (you never know who might be listening.) “If you want to hear the rest, keep an ear to the ground. I’ll be in touch.”
Shadows fall over her pale form as she steps back into the trees. Before she turns, she pauses and a warning look flashes across her face. “Don’t try to find me. I might have a history here, but Sound Country is mine to protect. Remember that,” Sakura adds, before she turns on her heel, and disappears into the forest.
[[kind of a drabble, kind of a starter, kind of a revival post. No matter how old I get, I keep coming back to this AU, even though it long ago stopped aligning with canon. I want to bring this blog back in some form, maybe with a greater focus on writing than role playing (although you are more than welcome to RP with me.) I’ve got a lot going on right now, but Sakura just won’t leave me alone. If you’re unhappy with her canon story, or wished her life had a little more depth and darkness, stay tuned for updates~

Mayhaps a MinaKushiTazz drabble?
Every Secret Has An Expiration Date
It was complex, trying to be in a relationship that society frowned upon. Especially when one of your lovers was the Hokage of Konohagakure and the other was the Jinchūriki of a giant chakra beast. It was akin to a complex dance, avoiding prying eyes and curious questions about the nature of their friendship while maintaining a functioning relationship. Oddly, though, none would change it for the world.
They lived for the quiet moments, the peace between stressful days where they can just curl up on the couch together and complain about their day without the worry of judgement from their lovers. At home, their public personas were stripped away. There was no need for them here.
"Do you ever think we'll be allowed to go public as... us?" Came an uncertain question one night, from who though was undetermined. Their voice had been quiet though they were afraid their question would offend the other two. They lapsed into silence again as they all mulled over the question. It was a complex one. Their relationship type is frowned upon and was considered borderline illegal. They could truly never go public with their relationship. It brought a collective twinge of sadness to the group, knowing that they could never be truly together.

Day 16 Pairing: Izuna/Itama Word count: 954 Word: Verklempt - completely and utterly overcome with emotion
Follow the link or read it under the cut!
KO-FI and commission info in the header!
Verklempt - Izuna/Itama
Something in him screamed for it all to stop but it was so hard to hear when his mind was filled with static, when his eyes saw the world around him tainted red with fury – or maybe that was just the blood. Izuna ground his teeth together and snarled like an animal as he spun his body to avoid the blade aiming for his heart, taking immense please in slamming his hand down to snap his opponent’s forearm. The sharp crack of shattered bone was a balm to his raging soul.
“You’re going to regret the day you were born,” he told the other man in a low voice.
A whimper would have been appropriate right then because honestly he meant that but instead his opponent sneered at him and that was certainly the wrong move to make. Izuna took great pleasure in smashing the idiot forward against the closest tree and listening to yet another bone snap, this time in his face.
“Tell me where he is and I stop,” he said. “It’s simple enough, even for someone with as little brains as you so clearly have left.”
“Go to hell.” The man spat blood at his feet and Izuna slammed him face first in to the tree a second time just to hear him yowl. Interrogation had never been his thing, he’d never really had the patience for it, but this was one occasion where he was willing to make an exception.
“I don’t think you understand the position you’re in. You will tell me where he is or I will remove your teeth one by one. And then your fingernails. Maybe when I’m done with your toenails I’ll feed every one of them back to you with a hot iron.” Torture, on the other hand, that was something he’d helped with a time or too. Not something he took a particular joy in but this was a special case.
Finally the man in his clutches seemed to grasp his own situation and swallowed around the blood trickling down his throat. “So I-I tell you where he is and you’ll let me go, right?”
“Why don’t we see what happens,” Izuna purred.
“It wasn’t my idea! Tetsuo said if we captured someone from one of the main families then the rest of them would pay handsomely to get them back and I need the money! My kid’s sick and I can’t afford to take her to the capital for a healer or get medicine or anything! We didn’t mean to hurt him–”
Any sympathy that might have been gathering was blown away in another explosion of rage. “If you hurt a fucking hair on his head then I will have yours!”
Extracting the information he wanted took no more than activating his Sharingan, although he did take the time to make it a painful experience for the man who thought kidnapping a high profile resident of Konohagakure was a great way to make some quick cash. What a stupid idea. Out of all the people they could have possibly chosen to kidnap they had definitely picked the wrong one.
Of course, any high profile member from either the Senju or the Uchiha would have been the wrong choice.
Figuring that allowing him to live was as much mercy as could be expected of him, Izuna left the pathetic sack of idiocy broken and bleeding on the forest floor when he turned and bolted towards the hills to the east. With every step he urged his body faster and faster, wishing more than ever that he could match his old rival’s infamous speed, and by the time he found traces of the targets he was looking for his legs were burning from the effort.
As soon as he stepped in to the clearing that burning faded in to the back of his mind in favor of a different type of flames. The flames of anger. A burning hatred for the men and women staring back at him as though they didn’t understand the doom they were facing.
“You hurt him.” His voice was a low snarl, barely a whisper, but from the way they all shivered with fear it was clear they had heard him. “You won’t live to regret that.”
“Tad dramatic,” a weak voice told him from several feet away.
“I thought you said you enjoyed my dramatics,” Izuna replied, not taking his eyes off of the scum circling around him even as his heart soared in his chest. Just hearing that voice was everything. It was the sun after rainfall, the break in the clouds, water after days in the desert.
“Could you hurry things along maybe? I’d like to enjoy your dramatics at home.”
With a feral grin, Izuna nodded once. “Anything for you, love.”
Itama nodded and sank back in to the pile of shackles and seals keeping him tethered. What it must have taken to get him in there was a mystery Izuna couldn’t wait to hear about but for now he had other things to do. The moment he had his lover back in his arms he knew the rest of the world would cease to exist and he had some rather important things to take care of first, things like peeling fingernails and exacting revenge against the people that had hurt his most precious person.
“Now,” he purred. “If you could all die quickly and very painfully that would be a great help.”
The men and women facing him looked much more worried than before, he noted. Which was good. They should be worried. If they were going to take what was his then they should have been prepared to deal with his anger.

OC Asks - 2,14,27,33,48 (for Yoshino Nara )
@sennenryuu || meme (accepting!!)
YOSHINO. 愛
Does your OC collect anything? What do they collect?
I stated this various times in replies here and over at @cervamater, but I think it’s time to make it official in a headcanon. So yes, Yoshino does collect something: she is a passionate swords collector. In her personal dojo, that Shikaku had built specifically for her needs somewhere close to the Nara compound, she has a collection of over 70 pieces coming from every angle of the Ninja World (I described one in a reply here). Even if I call it “swords collection”, it includes all the kinds of cold steel (it does, anyway, focus more on Asian-fashioned blades). Her collection, by the time of her canonical death, is estimated to be worth 50 million ryo, a ridiculously high price. This being said, there are very few pieces Yoshino has bought herself: a lot, if not most of them, are gifts from devoted Nara members or other clan heads, seeking first Shikaku’s benevolence (when he was still alive), then his spouse’s when she took over the Nara leadership.
A dear headcanon of mine in this regard is connected to Yoshino’s canon what-if?, her ShibiYosh what if?, where she has a secret affair with the Aburame head Aburame Shibi that, for political reasons, has to remain secret. According to this headcanon, the most prized piece of Yoshino’s collection, worth alone more than 100 thousands ryo, is a cerimonial dagger coming from the Land of Iron, ancient home to Yukinohana Kazoku, Yoshino’s tribe.
What foods does your OC like to eat? What are their least favorite foods?
Yoshino’s favourite food is ABSOLUTELY chocolate. Chocolate wins over anything, hands down. At first, I thought of this just as a little internal joke, because as much as I don’t dislike chocolate, I can go for months without eating even a little bite of it; recently though, I have been told that chocolate contains some substance that stimulates serotonin production, the “molecule of happiness”. Thinking that Yoshino eats chocolate just to be a little bit more happy is extremely sad on one side, yet extra-IC. Anyways, she likes sweet food in general, so she is a natural appreciator of sweet-and-sour.
I would say that her least favorite food would be raw food, raw fish at top. As much as this can be regarded as somewhat of a silly headcanon, I want to dig in a little bit deeper and say that the reason why she dislikes raw food is because it lacks the love that home hearth should deliver through cooked food.
What kind of childhood did your character have?
Traumatic, loveless and very sad. She lost her parents when she was 11 because of the Mokuren Tribe attack during what “is known” as Yukinohana no Gyakusatsu (The Yukinohana Massacre), but even before that, Yoshino had a troubled childhood; her genetic illness made it hard for her to conduct a normal life and on top of that, after Kenshin killed his elder brother Chi You and became Yukinohana leader, his efforts went to train Yoshino in order that the child would have been able to fight her older sister in the Gods Clash (the fratricidal battle that takes place at the death of the current Yukinohana leader to establish who is to guide the tribe among their offspring). Most of the time, Kenshin pushed Yoshino too hard, often punishing her for what he considered ‘a weakness of the spirit’ when in all actuality, she was just simply too frail to endure such a hard training. Yoshino’s mother, Chihana, was on the other way, too resigned and dulled out by the years of servitude she had accumulated to really be of any help, standing for the sanity of her child. Eventually, Yoshino created a cocoon of apathy, harshness and nervousness to keep everyone at bay.
Her general quality of life did, tragicomic to say, improve when she moved to Konoha to stay with her aunt Nuwa (Nuwa was Kenshin’s younger daughter and the only survivor of the Gods Clash, because she refused to take part in it and instead fled to Konoha with her soon-to-be husband, Akio, a shinobi she had saved). Nuwa has been for Yoshino the closest thing to a motherly figure, filling the girl with confidence in her abilities and giving Yoshino an impression of what a doting mother should be for her children. Also, befriending Tsume [Inuzuka Tsume] and Hyuuga Haru was also a big step for Yoshino in her early journey to learn compassion and affection; however, Haru’s premature death on the battlefield was a huge shock for Yoshino.
Ok, this is already long enough, so I am gonna stop here. This covers more or less Yoshino’s childhood to her early teens (11-12), so it’s mostly pertinent to the question without me going too deep and too detailed on the subsequent matters!
Would they ever kill someone? What would someone have to do to push them to kill someone? If they would kill someone, why?
I am gonna divide this in two small sections if you are okay with it, it’s gonna be easier to deal with it like this!
Pre-Shikaku: Pre-Shikaku is the time of Yoshino’s life before she would be indirectly rescued by Shikaku and the feelings she starts having for him. This includes baby Yoshino, pre-teen Yoshino, teen Yoshino to the age of 18. In these temporal arcs, I have no doubts say: yes, she would. Yoshino starts basking in the idea of killing as a relief from her personal emotional baggage since after The Yukinohana Massacre, when she kills for the first time as self defense. After that, Yoshino will just kill for the sake of killing, of robbing life, of feeling purposeful, of fulfilling her personal revenge against life who has stolen all the good things from her and also a more literal revenge, for her fellow tribesmen who died during the Yukinohana Massacre.
After-Shikaku: after-Shikaku is the period of time extending from Konohagakure War Operation High Quarter’s foundation (Konoha HQ) to her current default verse (post Shikaku’s death). In this timeframe and ESPECIALLY after Shikamaru’s birth, Yoshino is a lot more hesitant in killing matters (aside, of course, to defend herself and/or her fawn). In her canon, after marrying with Shikaku, she only killed one person: her aunt and cousins’ assassin, a still nameless assassin. An extract from a veeery old drabble I wrote years ago about it:“She spitted on the body laying on the prison floor. The sensation was so fucking refreshing; vendetta. Vendetta. VENDETTA.She cleansed the blade of her dao on her victim’s vest. A simple thief that robbed the wrong house; he had found her aunt plus her cousins still inside and, maybe too afraid of them calling out on him, decided the best choice was to break their neck.“I owe you,” she greeted the KMPF chief behind her back, his shoulders in contact with the wall.“Do you?” he wondered, Yoshino was already making her way out of that hellish place.Last one, she decided. This is the last one…”Killing, for her, is a thing of the past. She wants to become a better person. Also, after experiencing just how generous and kind life can turn out to be when one decides to let it be, she feels genuinely bad at the thought of killing someone. She has started perceiving it as a sin.
What were their parents like? How has that affected how they are as an adult?
I have talked about them a bit in the childhood question, but I guess I can add something else here.
Kenshin’s idea of parenting, although extremely poor executed, had some pure roots. He genuinely loved both Ainai (Yoshino’s older sister, in some older headcanons her name is stated as Aishino) and Yoshino, but his treatment of both his daughter was heartless to say the least; while Ainai was denied any form of approval or affection, for Kenshin was convinced Ainai had to focus on her future role of tribe leader, Yoshino was also denied any kindness and gentleness that she genuinely deserved for her condition. Both Ainai and Yoshino remember their father as an unfair man that war and loss had scarred too deep for him to recover; anyways, what Yoshino doesn’t know and that Ainai keeps as the only good memory of Kenshin, is that was Kenshin himself who told Ainai to send Yoshino off to Konoha to disrupt the Gods Clash tradition and give her a chance to survive.
Chihana (born Kokuyoseki no Chihana, Chihana of Obsidian, later known as Chihana of Iwagakure) was Yoshino’s mother. Chihana was the sole survivor of her clan, the Obsidian Clan, carrier of both the fabulous kekkei genkai Skin of Granite and the cursing genetic illness chakra virus. After her family was extermined by Kenshin (at that time known as Xuanyuan) and Chi You, she was kept as a prisoner of war and given to Xuanyuan as his spouse, to enrich the Yukinohana Tribe with her family’s kekkei genkai. I will just copy here what I have already written about her and Yoshino’s relationship:
“Yoshino’s mother consoled her during her worst moments, when she felt too inpain to get out of the house or when Kenshino reprimanded her too strictly.Yoshino remembers her as a loving figure, although her way to show affectionwas very peculiar. Chihana was always veiled with melancholy and the words sheoffered Yoshino were obscure and difficult to understand for a child;nonetheless, she loved listening to her mother talking. She often stroke herhair too. Chihana never challenged her husband for the decisions he made andYoshino is sure she would never allow herself that far, being her little morethan a freed slave. Chihana taught Yoshino Ninja villagers language, which isvery different from the one she used to speak within Yukinohana fellows. DuringMokuren’s raid, Chihana saved Yoshino’s life, shielding her against her chestto fake her death alongside her mother.
Curious fact: Chihana taught Yoshino how to playshakuhachi when she was little to help her younger daughter to meditate after aparticularly hard training session.”
For how this has affected Yoshino as an adult… well, the most obvious thing is that Yoshino was set not to act like her parents with her own child, that she would have given him all the love, the affection and the encouragement he needed in his life in order for him to succeed and not feel alone in the world. Even though her parents proved to be ineffective to grant her what she truly needed in life, thanks to her basically surviving off alone, she was reinforced against life’s heartaches. This, among her naturally strong character and her combative soul, allowed her to get over Shikaku’s demise and embrace his inheritance, proving to be an effective and efficient leader for the Nara.
#this is so fucking long i understand if you want to give up n#holy shit i think i wrote like 2 thousand words???#thank you though it was so good to talk about my babe!!!#yoshino yukinohana/nara.#yoshino (headcanon)#naruto content#answered ask#long post

stiffshoulders#14 –> bitter starter
Kakashi’s gaze rests upon the village below. It’s far different from Konohagakure–perhaps even the air is a little different, something he notes when a gust of wind rushes in through the open window. The Hokage sleeps comfortably in the room next door.
The Five Kage Summit is being held in Kumogakure this year. The alliances between the nations are technically there, but fragile at best. Each Kage has brought their escort for protection; they say that the bodyguards are to protect them from nukenin, but Kakashi’s certain that everyone else has caught on to the underlying message. They’re there to protect them from each other.
Kakashi takes a sip of water from his glass before setting it on the window sill. A heavy sigh escapes his lips as fingers tighten into a fist. The journey here hadn’t been without casualties. It’s a trap, this whole thing. It’s not coincidence that the Raikage had suddenly requested that the summit be held in his own village.
They were pawns in a game, carefully maneuvered into place. An ambush on the way here had been blamed on nukenin; Kakashi thinks differently. A bitter taste fills his mouth as he delves deeper in his thoughts. Each village was no above using any opportunity to one up the other, even Konohagakure. The rest of them be damned. Pieces of a game could only move when the player desired.
The Hatake pulls his mask back over his face as a knock on his door notifies him of a presence. Though Kumogakure provided housing over night before the meeting tomorrow, he’s sure that no one would be resting peacefully tonight. Leaving his glass on the window sill, he makes his way across the room to open the door.
“Can I help you?” Kakashi asks politely, his characteristic nonchalance back in full swing. A Kumogakure shinobi, he recognizes her out of his Bingo Book. Out of the corner of his eye, he can see the Konoha jounin positioned outside the Hokage’s door glance over.

[Naruto HashiObi drabble] Mission
'Ello lovely readers!
This fic is a spin off of my story - "Exchanging sadness for tree sap"
(which at the time of this posting is not complete).
Anyway, this is mostly self-indulgent crack but I hope you all enjoy!
THE ORIGINALS ARE POSTED ON FF.NET AND AO3 - LADYKG. PLEASE DO NOT REPOST WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Obito!" Hashirama practically jumps him as he comes through the window into the Hokage office. It's only been a week since they got themselves up and running as a village - truly running, with an academy under Tobirama's supervision, a council, an official Hokage, and the ability to accept missions. Even the Uchiha police force is starting to properly be organized.
He has visited his husband every day since he took post in the newly built administration tower. But he hasn't seen the man this excited since the final signing of the treaty to create Konohagakure. Not since they started getting requests from other clans to join the growing hidden village.
"Hashirama," he replies, and it comes out warm as he takes the tackling hug with ease and a welcome expectation to feel strong arms holding him. He's picked up, and spun as Hashirama smiles up at him, all bright eyes and captivating energy.
"We got our first mission!" The man is vibrating with his excitement, clearly unable to even sit still long enough to sign off on the scroll, let alone assign anyone to take it. "And it's from the Daimyo himself!"
Hashirama sets him down only to shove a plain looking scroll into his face - clearly they haven't quiet set up the ranking of missions yet. He makes a mental note to talk with Tobirama about it later.
"I still have to decide who it should go to," his husband continues as Obito unrolls the scroll. "It's important that none of the newer clans feel left out, but the older may take it as favoritism. I've been thinking Mito's-"
"Madara."
"Madara?"
Obito hums, letting himself scan over the scroll just once more with the satisfaction of knowing exactly what he is putting the clan head through, "It's only right that one of the two founding clans take on the responsibility of the first mission. With a Senju as Hokage it's only fair that the Uchiha receive the first mission."
"But does this really require a clan head?" Hashirama comes to read the scroll over his shoulder. "It seems very straight forward. I'm sure one of the new Uchiha genin could complete it."
"Which means Madara will have it done in no time," Obito smiles - and if it's leaning towards the wicked side? Well, no one can really blame him. "It'll show that we are capable and efficient, bringing in more missions."
"I don't think-"
"You know, our garden is starting to look a bit sad," Obito deliberately takes the man's Hokage hat off before moving to the desk and placing it on the edge. "But if you're too busy deciding who this mission goes to," he leaves the scroll, unrolled, beside the hat, "I'll just liven it up myself."
The look on Hashirama's face is priceless - really, he wishes he had his sharingan activated right then. "You…"
Obito raises an eyebrow, handing his husband a brush, "Madara."
"Madara," he parrots, the Uchiha's name appearing starkly on the scroll with the stamped Hokage seal following soon after. A shinobi - not ANBU yet, but soon - appears and takes the scroll with a bow.
"Now," Obito's smirk grows, "about our garden."
~~~~~~~~~~~
"You knew," Hashirama says once Madara has stormed back out of their house - hopefully to bath off all the grim.
Obito doesn't bother holding in the laughter that bursts like an explosion tag from his chest. The sight of Madara covered head to toe in what Obito hopes isn't just mud, his hair a mess and a distinctly charred smell to him is something he never wants to forget. (It's not nearly enough, he doesn't think it ever will be, but Obito is willing to collect these small victories for the rest of his life if it means peace).
"It was a d-rank in my time," he finally gets out, breathless and near incomprehensible. "In my defense, I didn't know it was the same cat."
"Liar," Hashirama tells him, but Obito can see the laughter in his eyes, and hear the fondness in his voice and knows his husband approves.
But really what kind of cat lives that long. Unless…
"We always did call Tora a demon," he murmurs, heart speeding up as he reels his husband closer.
"What was that?" The words ghost over his lips.
"Nothing as interesting as this," Obito says low, voice husky and eyes half-lidded. His hands skim over a bare chest. They haven't bothered to get fully dressed since making it home.
(There are reports all over the village the next day about how the flowers are blooming out of season again, and that flower shop the Yamanaka are setting up must be ecstatic about it).

Drabble | Akiyama Chiyoko & @persiciflorebellator‘s Senju Toka | Army of Amazons | Founders Era Verse
Chiyoko was in Konohagakure for a routine mission, namely clan meetings between Iwagakure’s clans and the village she was visiting. She was acting both as an escort for the clan heads and as a moderator for the meetings. It was the most common job she had as an ambassador, as she was considered one of the Iwa nin with the most experience dealing with these meetings. She just got done with one between her own Akiyama Clan and the Senju, still in the compound. As she was on her way out, Senju Toka was walking back into the mini-village. “Toka-san!” Chiyoko called out to her friend. “It’s nice to see you. I just had to deal with six hours of back and forth from clan elders.” “I don’t know how you deal with it so well,” Toka snorted. “I grew up as an heiress, I’m not sure how you gained the experience.” “Simple: ‘miracle child’,” she said with airquotes. “Enough about clan politics,” she waved a hand. “Why don’t we catch up some?” “Understandable, why don’t we hang out at home? I’m sure you’re exhausted.” Chiyoko just let Toka lead the way. Once inside the home, the Iwa nin was once again taken aback from her friend’s elegant house. It was adorned with paintings and hanged calligraphy, bamboo floors and walls. “I’ll bring some tea out for us,” Toka called out, walking towards the kitchen. “You want some peach tea today?”
“Always!”
“You should work on not being so predictable, Chiyoko-san.”
The two were soon drinking tea and talking of missions and ridiculous clients to escort. The topic changed with a clang of Toka’s cup on the table. The action caused Chiyoko to quirk a brow.
“I want to create a secret army, and I want you, Chiyoko-san,” she announced with clear seriousness. “To be my second-in-command. You’re the strongest kunoichi I know, other than myself.”
“A secret army?” she replied with a tilt of her head. “I’ll gladly take the position, but who will comprise of it?”
“Simple,” Toka said, a smirk upon her face. “The strongest kunoichi from each nation. I’ve got the appointed commanders for them, and you are the one for Iwagakure, naturally. I am the one for Konohagakure. I need to find the ones for the other nations, will you assist me on my search?”
“Of course! I’ll do whatever I can!”
The two shook hands on the agreement. Only for Chiyoko to again tilt her head and raise her hand.
“Wait, do we have permission from the Kage?” she asked.
“You forget who I’m related to, Chiyoko-san?”
The two burst into laughter, glad to have a plan underway. They’d prove how powerful kunoichi are. How they’re just as strong as their fellow male shinobi. Even if it was kept a secret, their names would be recorded as the toughest kunoichi of their era.

AO3 Writer Meme
Tagged by/Stealing from @ao3commentoftheday
Ao3 name: Rowena_Bensel
Fandoms: Transformers (mainly Prime and Bayverse), The Cat Returns, and a couple scattered other fics, plus tons of unpublished WIPs.
1. Fic you spent the most time on: The AllSpark Changed My Life. Been working on it since about November 2015, through three drafts, high school, and 3 jobs.
2. Fic you spent the least time on: As Beautiful, which was jotted out in about a half hour after percolating in my brain all through the school day.
3. Longest fic: AllSpark again, at… 203K+ words posted, and another at least 20-30K written but not yet posted. And still not done!
4. Shortest fic: Not my shortest work cause I have a 140 word poem, but my shortest fic is Things She Said While She Thought He Was Asleep, which was written based on a drabble prompt on one of my Tumblr rp blogs.
5. Most Hits: AllSpark again, at 9,297 hits!
6. Most kudos: AllSpark again, 233 kudos
7. Most comment threads: AllSpark again! At 58! Guess that’s what happens when your writing portfolio is one long fic and a bunch of one shots, half of which are for a very small fandom.
8. Fave fic you wrote: Finally something different than AllSpark! My fave fic that I’ve written is Father of the Spark. While not my idea originally, the story just really flowed and I like the AU I’m building off of it.
9. A fic you want to rewrite or expand on: I want to rewrite and finish Arrival of the Elite, as I’ve changed headcanons since I last worked on it, and so I want to reflect that. As well, my writing skills themselves have improved since 2016, so I want to show that too.
10. Share a bit of your WIP or share a story idea you’re planning: Since it’s been taking up valuable brain space, I’ll share about Little Kinzoku AU
Little Kinzoku is a Transformers Prime/Naruto fusion, where the Transformers characters were all originally from a village called Kinzokugaure. The village was destroyed at the same time and for the same reasons as Uzushiogakure, and the survivors split into two groups, the Unmakers, who want revenge, and the Protectors who wish to move on. The Unmakers become a clan of missing-nin, while the Protectors move to Konohagakure.
The main story follows the members of Team 11, Jack, Miko, and Raf, starting in their academy years when they befriend Naruto, and how this friendship and the connections it gives him causes all the little ripples of the past to collide and make waves in the present.
I think I’ve made a couple posts about it before, so just follow the link to the tag.
This was a fun game, I now tag @crazyfanatic97, @catsafarithewriter, @sindysugar, @galpalaven, @kuno-chan and anyone else who wants to play.
