choose your professor: selection of naruto men in stem academia au
Zabuza: Astrophysics (cosmology). Swears he'll quit academia tomorrow but never does.
Kakashi: Theoretical Physics (not sure what's his expertise but leaning towards statistical physics). Can't function without coffee, brings his dog to the office.
Sasori: Forensic Chemistry. Researches the perfect crime. Probably commited one.
Itachi: Mathematics (Number Theory). Quit academia, works in a hedge fund.
Shisui: Bioinformatics. Comes from academia family. Doesn't care, just there to have fun.

Loooove your takes on the Uchihas. Could you please do some hcs of the men being jealous or even possessive? 🥺🥺
Love me some yandere dummies
Tumblr media
Madara
Madara Uchiha does not get jealous. Or at least, that’s the lie he tells himself. The truth is far uglier, simmering beneath the surface like an earthquake waiting to crack the earth open.
The moment he senses another man getting too close, his entire demeanor shifts—his usual arrogance sharpened to something more lethal. His hand finds the small of (Y/N)’s back, firm, claiming.
He doesn’t ask her to stay away from certain people. He expects it. "-You belong to me. You know this, don’t you?"- It’s not a question; it’s a reminder.
If anyone dares flirt with her in his presence, he doesn’t need to say anything. One look—cold, dark, absolute—is enough to make them reconsider their life choices.
But when it’s just the two of them, his possessiveness is quieter. It’s in the way his fingers tighten when she tries to move from his lap, in the way he pulls her closer at night, whispering, "-Mine.-" against her skin.
Izuna
Izuna doesn’t get insecure jealous—he gets petty jealous. He won’t say anything outright, but his actions are impossible to ignore.
If someone flirts with (Y/N), suddenly, he’s the most affectionate man alive. An arm draped lazily around her shoulders, a hand tracing the curve of her waist, a smirk that dares anyone to challenge him.
"-Oh, were you talking to her? My mistake—I thought you had a death wish.-" His words are light, teasing, but the underlying threat is real.
The moment they’re alone, though, the teasing vanishes. He pins her with a look that’s all heat and frustration, fingers gripping her chin as he murmurs, "-Tell me you don’t want anyone else, and I’ll let this go.-"
Of course, she always reassures him, but he likes making her say it. Making her prove that she belongs to him.
Obito
Obito is bad with jealousy. He has lost too much, and the thought of losing (Y/N) too? It’s enough to make his blood boil.
He doesn’t even realize how menacing he looks when he gets possessive—shoulders squared, Sharingan flashing, jaw tight with barely restrained anger.
If anyone dares look at her the wrong way, he gets uncharacteristically quiet, dangerous. "-You should leave.-" It’s not advice. It’s a warning.
With (Y/N), he’s not much better. He doesn’t know how to handle the fear of losing her, so sometimes it comes out in sharp words, in desperate kisses that linger too long, in the way he holds her so tight she can barely breathe.
But later, when the anger fades, all that’s left is raw vulnerability. "-I just… I need you to be mine. Only mine.-" He buries his face in her neck, voice low, almost broken. And she always soothes him, because she understands.
Shisui
Shisui is the type to laugh when he’s jealous, like it’s all a joke. But there’s something dangerous in his eyes, in the way his smile never quite reaches them.
He doesn’t believe in making a scene—he just makes sure the other guy knows exactly who (Y/N) belongs to. "-Oh, you think you have a chance? That’s cute.-"
If someone gets too close, he doesn’t lash out—he outsmarts them. Twisting words, making subtle threats with a friendly grin, ensuring they never try again.
But when he and (Y/N) are alone, he drops the act. His fingers curl around her wrist, tugging her close. "-I don’t like sharing. And I never will.-" His voice is soft, almost pleading. "-So don’t make me.-
Itachi
Itachi is not the type to be openly jealous. He doesn’t scowl, doesn’t make threats—he simply watches. Cold, calculating, utterly unreadable.
But make no mistake—just because he’s quiet doesn’t mean he isn’t feeling it. If another man gets too close, his presence alone is enough to send a chill down their spine.
The way he lingers at (Y/N)’s side, the way his fingers ghost over her wrist, the way his eyes darken when she laughs at someone else’s joke—it’s all subtle, but unmistakable.
He won’t confront her about it, but he will remind her of who she belongs to. Later, when they’re alone, he’ll press his forehead to hers, voice barely above a whisper. "-I don’t need to say it, do I?"-
And she’ll smile, because no, he doesn’t. She already knows.

Hear me out: Itachi Uchiha reincarnated as Bruce Wayne. Brutachi, if you will
Broke: Itachi or any isekai-ed shinobi would clash with Batman and disdain his no kill rule.
Woke: Bruce Wayne is someone reincarnated!Itachi could grow into
---
Okay okay so if I quickly round up what matches:
black-haired boy, broody loner, man of self-imposed rules, lying to keep people at arm's length, traumatized quiet thinker who then dedicates his whole life to his ideology, striving for goodness, sacrificing themselves by taking on an heavy burden, meticulous planner, genius who masters a truck-ton of martial arts and then create his own blend...
(Itachi’s memories carrying over is as good a reason as any for Bruce’s OP martial arts level when he didn’t even start training from a really young age.)
---
Of course, beyond those relatively surface stuff, Batman and Itachi appear to be at opposite ends of the morality spectrum: the idealist with the no-killing rule / the shinobi with enough grim pragmatism to resolve himself to kill his whole family, AND who managed to out-Talk no Jutsu Naruto.
Still, there are nuances in these two positions that make them potentially a bit closer. Bruce is an optimist but in a 'hope for the better, prepare for the worst' kinda way. he's Bat 'contingency plan' man. Also he’s not quite a blind idealist, he considered the other position (killing) when training under Ra's, and then chose to reject it.
On the other hand, no killing is what Itachi yearned for originally, but he was forced to let it go as an unrealistic dream in the shinobi war world. Also, his words to Sasuke as Edo Tensei show him questioning his deeds, whether there was another way --the right way. We can't know if this change of heart is because of what he learns as Edo Tensei (that Sasuke learned the truth and wants to destroy Konoha and Naruto Talk no Jutsu finally taking effect), or something he's been thinking about for a long time, but kept silence because it was too late (once the Massacre was done, best to at least protect the clan reputation).
Now, I can agree that if you have a dimension-traveling Itachi meet Batman as is, he would think that the no-kill rule is foolish and unrealistic (even Naruto wasn't that naive!), because all he knows is the shinobi worldview.
However, I'm proposing you consider a Bruce Wayne who recalls the memories of his past life as Itachi Uchiha when he sees his parents get killed -- who have already lived ten years of happy childhood in this world, with a completely different education than the shinobi child soldiering.
This world isn't peaceful -- his parents are the proof -- but it's certainly not as dire as the shinobi world. I don't think that no killing would be the first conclusion he jumps to; rather, that brings back his dream of being the one to bring peace (after climbing to the top by any mean necessary) on the table.
On the other hands, his education as Bruce Wayne put perspective on his past life's choices, as in: genocide is always wrong (nazi Germany example -- you can even sprinkle that with Wayne family Jew origins hc). Also, he has access to so many philosophy books. Itachi would 100% read everything that could help answer his existential questions and form his nindo ideology.
So I think that it's clear in his head from the start that he will do something. The question he grapples with throughout his self-finding journey across the world training under all kind of masters and the League of Assassins, is whether he will embrace his way as Itachi once again -- the 'end justify the means' shinobi ruthlessness -- or walk a different path.
Ra's extended hand is the incarnation of the first choice, and his final decision is to reject it, instead returning to Gotham to become Batman.
The Bat roots in Bruce Wayne’s childhood fear, and Gotham aesthetic—it has absolutely no connection to ‘Itachi’, and it’s on purpose: this is a new start, a different path he’s following
he’s a protector, as he always meant to be
he’s Vengeance, too, so those he protects don’t have to lose themselves for revenge (like Sasuke did)
he won’t let anybody die, because he can.
The Rogues
softness and compassion is his natural tendency, respecting an enemy/not judging people forced by necessity to break law and bend morality is a shinobi thing.
Still the shinobi background makes Batachi very good at compartmentalizing the respect and empathy he may feel for an opponent and the nose breaking he’s doing.
however this world can afford to keep the law breakers alive, so there goes all his soft heart’s impulse control
the concept of the rehabilitation system is like the incarnation of all his hopes, or something of a dream come true.
also he surprises himself feeling some sort of nostalgia of the Akatsuki when faced with the Rogue colorful craziness.
the Joker however, Batachi despises, because he does evil for kicks and challenge the very purpose of the rehabilitation system
The love interests
Now this is something of a hitch in my characterization, cuz nothing says ooc like womanizer!Itachi.
can’t picture Brutachi fooling around with models à la Brucie, because kunoichi infiltration and assassination techniques are a thing he’d be extremely wary of.
Maybe if you portray him a bit on the Battinson end of the Bruce-spectrum? Wearing closed-off goth weirdo on his sleeve
Talia makes senses, still. They meet when Brutachi is training in the League under Ra’s and pondering one existential crisis or three. The League in a way is an incarnation of the shinobi path to Itachi, and so is Talia: she’s strong, sharp, dangerous, a cunning liar but true to her word with a warrior’s sense of honor, and earnestly fights for a greater cause—even if Brutachi comes to realize that it’s a cause he can’t endorse and tainted with Ra’s megalomania.
Even after he rejects the LoA, there’s a nobleness in the way Talia is torn between love for him and the duty her father dictates—a dilemma that resonates with the one he had, once.
as for Selina, I can see Catwoman playfully flirting at Batachi in an attempt to get his guard down—which backfires into raising his guard instead, because of his trained wariness of seduction specialists.
still the BatCat chase puts Batachi at ease, in that the Cat is a pleasant opponent to fight with—her mastery of stealth and balance is shinobi-like, but she doesn’t try for lethal, so it’s a bit like a spar?
on the other hand, as far as Talia felt like a kindred spirit in shinobi philosophy, Selina is the polar opposite. Discipline, duty, sacrifice—none of that. She’s a Free Spirit, refuses to bow to anyone, and that’s it’s own brand of fascinating—along with the heart of gold she hides under her feisty impulsiveness.
grudging fondness and trust builds up.
so in short, Brutalia is kindred spirit and BatCat opposites attract.
Robin
The reason our favorite broody loner chooses to take in Dick Grayson is not that he sees himself so much as he sees Sasuke in him.
(cute and pure and then losing his family to a murder and burning in revenge)
However because he vowed that Batman would do different, different than Itachi, he lets DG in. No lying, no pushing him away, instead be by his side to help him through things, treat him seriously like an equal and most of all let him take part in the action
it so happens that shinobi conditioning skew a tiny bit his perception of acceptable occupation for a child—no qualms with child solider training (bar the conditioning to kill) because it’s useful skills that will better his survival chances, and Robin is the one asking for it, right? (A biiit too much of respect of the child’s agency.)
cue the unclear relationship between Bruce and Dick, in which Bruce is a mentor and a parent and an older sibling all rolled in one.
and then the Boy Wonder influences Bruce, slowly eroding him further away from ‘Itachi’.
Brutachi adopting Jason, when originally he would never has thought himself worthy/good enough/adapted to the caring of a child, is something only possible because the evolution Dick Grayson caused in him.
(and then Jason’s death is a wake up call, but then Tim barges in his life, and so the circle of Batkids go on, I leave it to your imagination…)
Now picture this: Edotensei!Itachi is Batachi who was sucked back into this world. Picture his words to Sasuke (that he should have involved him from the beginning and stuff) with ‘father of six to ten who has made some emotional progress’ Brutachi subtext.
Feeling the angst? Here comes the crack: the Bats send Jason with a dimension traveling device of some kind to retrieve their Batdad.
Jason ‘Daddy Issue’ Todd meets Sasuke ‘Avenger’ Uchiha.
Jason ‘why didn’t you kill the Joker’ Todd meets Sasuke ‘I will kill all those who forced my brother to kill (our clan)’ Uchiha.
They get along like a house on fire.
I will probably do a dedicate prompt on that last part.
(Masterlist)

When Itachi threatened Danzo that he would destroy Konoha if Sasuke was harmed or killed, would he really destroy it if Sasuke was killed?
Itachi did threaten Danzo, and according to Obito, he stated that he would leak Konoha's secret if Danzo harmed Sasuke. Which could result in the wars everyone was trying to avoid. Or it would damage Konoha's reputation as a political superpower in the Shinobi world.
Itachi is the only character in the story who doesn't use his pain as an excuse to hurt others. He doesn't make excuses for his pain and then inflict the same thing on other characters.
In the novel, he says he will destroy Danzo, and that is more detailed and is also in-character for him to say and do. If Danzo tried to harm Sasuke in his absence, he would harm Danzo rather than drag everybody else with him.
From the kind of person he is, self-destructive, mostly, he would kill Danzo, and then end himself if Sasuke was killed, because without Sasuke, he literally has no reason to live.
If Danzo harmed Sasuke without killing him, Itachi would still target Danzo, just to be careful. But in that case too, he wouldn't try to hurt other, uninvolved people, especially when he already did that with his clan.
I used to think he would go fully berserk if Sasuke was hurt or killed by Konoha, but over time I realised it's not in his nature to do that. He feels way too guilty for something like this.

I came across an old ask of yours pertaining to Itachi and the times he resorted to punishing Sasuke with tsukiyomi and I wanted to thank you for being one of the only pro Itachi fans that I've seen who don't mince Itachi's actions towards Sasuke. Itachi is my favorite character but I'm fed up with pro Itachi fans coddling him as this perfect angel who never did wrong, intentionally or unintentionally. Yes he loves Sasuke. He also did torture him into a coma. The portion of his supporters that don't want to admit this don't seem to have a firm grasp on his character at all. Thanks for admitting plainly that Sasuke was brutally tortured by Itachi because it affected every detail of Sasuke's existence.
You don't have to reply to this or post it if you do not want to I'm just done with the fandom and needed to vent. Thanks.
(( this is perfectly valid though, and you should say it! Even if people argue about the numbers (it's apparently a heated debate about the raw number of times Itachi forced Sasuke to relive the death of his parents), the fact remains Itachi tortured him to reignite/reinforce his hate. And again, it was enough to put him into a coma that Tsunade had to break him out of.
It wasn't meant to be a nice walk in the park, Itachi specifically wanted Sasuke to hate him because he wanted to die an irredeemable villain in his eyes. (And if it weren't for Obito, he would've had what he wanted lol)
Was it unfortunate timing? Of course. Itachi didn't come to Konoha specifically seeking Sasuke out. But now Sasuke's infront of him, and was he going to risk breaking the facade of himself for Sasuke randomly? Of course not.
Imo it also served to reinforce to the audience (Naruto and Jiraiya who were physically present), that Itachi is someone who deserves to be hated, so ideally they would support Sasuke in his goal of killing Itachi, because they have seen, in person, that Itachi would torture someone who is not on an equal playing field and is already incapacitated. ))

How would the Uchihas propose to their girlfriends?
Tumblr media
Indra
Indra is not a man of grand gestures. He sees emotions as distractions, vulnerabilities that could be exploited—except when it comes to her. With her, he has already lost the battle, already surrendered long before he was even aware of it.
His proposal is silent yet absolute. He does not ask; he declares.
One night, after a particularly brutal battle, he finds her in their shared space, waiting for him. She reaches for him as she always does, her touch an unspoken reminder that he is still here, still himself.
And he simply slides a ring onto her finger. No words, no hesitation. A binding act, just like the contracts he oversees, but this one is different.
This one is hers.
-You are mine.- His voice is low, firm, final. -And I am yours.-
Because Indra does not ask for things he has already decided belong to him.
Madara
Madara is a man of control, of power, of certainty. But love? Love is the one thing that has always unsettled him—because it is the only thing he cannot fully command.
When he proposes, it is not because he fears losing her, nor because he wants to secure her presence. It is because, for the first time in his life, he wants something beyond war and conquest.
And so, one night, when the world is quiet, he kneels before her—not in submission, but in a rare display of vulnerability.
-If you stay by my side, you will never be free of me.- His voice is a whisper, rough at the edges. -I do not know how to love gently, nor do I wish to. But I will love you for as long as I draw breath.-
And then, he presents the ring.
Not a command. Not a plea.
A choice.
One of the few he will ever give.
Izuna
Izuna is reckless, passionate, and utterly incapable of hiding his emotions—especially when it comes to her. His proposal is impulsive, raw, and so him that it almost feels like an inevitable conclusion rather than a planned event.
It happens in the midst of laughter, of heated arguments, of teasing words that turn into something softer. One moment, they are bickering over something utterly trivial, and the next—
-Marry me.-
It slips out, unfiltered, full of urgency.
She blinks. -What?-
Izuna groans, running a hand through his hair. -You heard me. Marry me. Now. Before I lose my damn mind.-
And then he is grabbing her hands, pressing them to his chest, as if trying to make her feel the way his heart stumbles whenever she is near.
-Because I love you, because I need you, because... you get it, don't you?-
There is no kneeling, no carefully planned speech—just him, baring his soul the only way he knows how.
And it is perfect.
Obito
Obito has dreamed of this moment for years. Ever since he first realized what she meant to him, ever since the possibility of a future was something he dared to hope for.
But when the moment arrives, he is a nervous wreck.
He practices in front of the mirror. He plans different scenarios. He tries to act cool about it—but the second he actually gets down on one knee, every single word he rehearsed vanishes.
-So, um—yeah. I mean—you—us—I want…- He exhales sharply. Disaster.
And then he looks up at her, truly looks at her, and something in him settles.
-Because I love you.- His voice is steadier now. Softer. -Because you are my happiness. Because I want to wake up every day knowing that you are mine, and I am yours.-
And then he holds up the ring, cheeks burning. -So… will you?-
She laughs—because, of course, this is how Obito proposes. But when she says yes, his joy is so overwhelming that he nearly drops the ring in excitement.
Shisui
Shisui’s proposal is both beautifully simple and deeply meaningful.
He does not take her to a grand location or prepare a long speech—he simply takes her to their place. The spot they always go to, the place that has witnessed laughter, whispered confessions, and quiet companionship.
They sit together as they always do, watching the sunset, when he suddenly takes her hand and presses something cool into her palm.
When she looks down, there’s a ring.
She stares at it, then at him, and he only grins, rubbing the back of his neck. -I figured it was about time, huh?-
No grand gestures, no dramatic declarations—just this. Just them.
Because to Shisui, love is not about extravagance. It is about moments like this, small and perfect, stretching into forever.
Itachi
Itachi’s proposal is careful. Thoughtful. Precise in a way that makes it clear he has been considering this for a long time.
He does not make grand declarations, nor does he overwhelm her with sudden gestures. Instead, one evening, while they sit together in comfortable silence, he simply reaches into his sleeve and pulls out a ring.
He holds it in his palm, watching it catch the candlelight, before speaking.
-I have lived my life making decisions for others.- His voice is quiet, but steady. -For my clan, for my family, for my duty. But this… this is the one decision I make only for myself.-
He lifts his gaze to hers, something raw and vulnerable flickering beneath the surface.
-Will you be mine?
And when she says yes, a rare, small smile touches his lips—the kind that only she ever gets to see.

who do you think was stronger, itachi or jiraya?
Hello anon !
That's an infinite debate. I think it stems from Itachi and Kisame's statement. They both said they couldn't win against Jiraiya. People who advocate for Jiraiya often ask, "But why would Itachi lie ?" On the other hand, Itachi's fans are sure he would win in a fight. The thing is... we will never know! Kishimoto is the only one who can say.
Before I start my analysis, keep in mind that I'm not great at judging these things. Take everything with a grain of salt, as my answer is probably subjective. We've never seen them fight, and they’re both vastly different in terms of strength and weaknesses.
As for me, I think Itachi's strength (genjutsu) is also Jiraiya's weakness. In this sense, he's clearly stronger. (To be honest, he's stronger than everyone in genjutsu.) I don't really know about ninjutsu; they both seem quite versatile. They both use at least two elements. Jiraiya's summons are incredibly powerful, and he works well with them.
The thing is... nobody has a counter for Tsukuyomi, and if Itachi has Jiraiya under it, then that would be the end of any fight.
Do you remember the summoning: toad mouth bind ? It's the technique Jiraiya claimed nobody had ever escaped from. However, Itachi was able to break free using Amaterasu.
If I had to sum it up... in ninjutsu, I think they're "equal" In genjutsu, Itachi is clearly stronger. As for taijutsu... well, Itachi doesn’t seem to use it much, but the few times we've seen him use it, he's quite skilled. Jiraiya must be good at it too; after all, he learned frog kata
Honestly, since Itachi has the sharingan and two abilities with almost no weaknesses, I’d say he’s stronger. But Jiraiya in sage mode, fused with Fukasaku and Shima, should be stronger. But there's more to take into consideration : Itachi's intelligence, Jiraiya's experience, and I think Jiraiya is also more durable.
My answer isn't decisive, is it ? I'm sorry about that.
