STANDARD PRECAUTIONS OF DISINFECTING YOUR DENTAL X-RAY MACHINE
Dental X Ray Machine
Many of us get question from our customers about how to properly clean and disinfect their pan-ceph or cone beam dental X-ray machine. ardent x ray machine price
STANDARD PRECAUTIONS
Standard precautions also known as universal precautions, are practices used to control infection. They are designed to protect dental professionals, their staff, and their patients from disease exposure through blood and certain bodily fluids such as saliva.
When you use standard precautions, you essentially presume that all human blood and saliva are known to be infectious. This means that everything you do to protect against cross-contamination is performed for all patients.
STEPS OF STANDARD PRECAUTIONS
FOR DENTAL X-RAY MACHINES
Tumblr media
Wearing gloves is the best way to prevent contamination between a patient and dental staff member. All dentists and clinical team members should remove their disposable gloves and wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds between different patients. Put on new gloves in front of the patient, if possible, so they are aware of the steps you take to protect their health.
Tumblr media
Any surface that might be touched by gloves, hands, or instruments that go into the mouth are clinical contact surfaces. For example: dental X-ray machine control panel, touch screens, exposure buttons, acquisition computer, patient positioning tools and lead apron. These are non-critical items because they are objects that might come in contact with saliva, blood, or intact skin, but not oral or mucous membranes.

Extraoral dental X-ray machines such as panoramic, cephalometric, and cone beam systems, should use the same standard precautions for decontamination and disinfection as the other equipment in your practice. Be sure to switch the X-ray unit off before cleaning or disinfecting. Never apply sprays or liquids directly on the surfaces of the X-ray machine. Instead, apply a small amount of cleaner to a clean paper towel and use it to wipe the surface of the machine. Alternatively, you may use an alcohol-based wipe that is safe for electronics. We do not recommend any Cavicide products for dental X-ray machines because they are extremely corrosive and can cause irreparable damage to X-ray machine covers or electrical components.

Cephalometric ear post, ear post brackets, and forehead supports and/or nation pointers should all be cleaned and disinfected with an iodine-detergent disinfectant. These devices should also be covered in plastic for patient and changed after each use.
After all patient exposures are complete, the barriers should be removed and any contaminated surfaces should be re-disinfected. The lead apron should be sprayed with disinfectant and wiped as described above.
It’s important for the entire community that infectious diseases are not spread. Healthcare environments are a primary source of contamination but following standard precautions allows us to minimize the spread of bacteria and viruses and keep our staff, patients, and community safe and healthy.

Steph's Year of Recovery
So! Danny noticed that a new face had made it's way into town. Two new faces actually, an older lady known as Dr Leslie, and a girl about his age called Steph.
He first met them when he was at the hospital for one of his parents. They had stood too close to an explosion again, and he met them while he was in the waiting Area.
Dr Leslie was a strict but obviously caring older woman, who seemed to be the one taking care of Steph as a kind of maternal figure, or maybe more like an Aunt. She greeted him simply and then walked away to talk with the Secretary, leaving him to talk to Steph.
Steph was a blond girl in a Wheelchair, and he could see bandages piking out of her clothes as he talked to her. She explained that she had been in an Accident a few weeks ago that left her wheelchair bound for a while, and that she had come to Amity for their surprisingly good Medical Centers.
He and Steph got along really well, and by the end of it he asked her for her Number so they could continue talking later. They stayed in touch, and when she was finally permitted to leave the Hospital, he introduced her to his friends. They all got along like a House on Fire, both figuratively and in one memorable case very literally (Vlad had pissed them off okay!)
Eventually Steph recovered enough that she moved from a Wheelchair to Crutches, and their shenanigans got even more chaotic (Vlad hadn't even pissed them off, this time was just for fun)
The only thing Danny could complain about was the fact that Steph was hiding something from them.
She said that she had been in an Accident a while ago, which was why they had come to Amity in the first place. But Danny knew it was more than that.
He could sense lingering traces of Death coming from her after all.
...
Steph honestly loved her current life.
Sure she had lost everything, her home, her health, her friends, her life, but she had gained new things too! Like Danny and the Gang! They were honestly some of the best friends she had ever had, and for some reason they just clicked with her instantly.
Danny was interesting and funny, Sam was vegan and a badass, Tucker was smart and witty, they all fit with her personality perfectly! It almost felt like she bad been friends with them for years. (She ignored the way her heart skipped a beat when she saw them)
But she still couldn't shake the sense that they were hiding something from her.
She knew it had something to do with the Ghost Problem in the town. And wasn't that a kicker, there was a whole Supernatural Ghost Outbreak in this Town and nobody knew about it. Dr Leslie had said that Amity was off the map enough to hide from Bruce, but she hadn't mentioned it was hidden from the Justice League itself!
Danny, Sam, and Tucker definitely knew more about it than they let on however. Whenever a Ghost Attack would happen, at least one of them would rush off with some practiced excuse and return after the Ghost Attack was over all dirty. She could guess what was going on, and she really didn't like it.
(This had killed her, she had died doing what they were doing, she didn't want to lose them)
Eventually she had to confront them, coincidentally on the same day they decided to confront her.
"Are you Vigilantes?" / "Did you die?"
"..."
"What?" / "What?"

uh hi. i wanted to illustrate one of the introductary scenes for SecUnit's character, since that would go along well with this being kind of my first post here. i... think that makes some sense. i promise more Murderbot diaries fanart after this (calling it content feels icky)). (did I start overusing brackets becouse of these books? possibly).
and i hope i captured SecUnit freaking out while trying to keep its composure at the same time well. as weird as it sounds, i like seeing depictions of it being nervous, becouse this side of it is what got me to relate to it so much in the first place (besides the heavily implied neurodivergence. though i guess the two go hand in hand). examples: in the second panel of the second page i tried showing how Gurathin's words affected it by making the speech bubbles visually "choke" (?) it, though it kept its face straight. oh, and i made it look much shorter than it actually is to mirror the way it is feeling!! figuring out details like that was pretty fun
(i'm sorry for any inconsistencies and the messy colouring and linework, i have ADHD and i get incredibly bored when i spend time trying to make everything "perfect" and looking the same in each panel... )

My favorite part of Network Effect was at the end when Mensah was about to board the Perihelion and ART was frantically cleaning better than Murderbot had ever seen it clean before and making sure all it's humans picked up after themselves. And when ART greeted Mensah, it was the most sincere sounding Murderbot had ever heard it be. Like, ART wanted to impress Mensah, it wanted to make a good first impression to Mensah because it knows how important Mensah is to Murderbot. ART respects Mensah because it trusts Murderbot's opinions of people. It trusted Murderbot with Iris, it's best human friend.

One thing I wish I'd see more of among Ratio fans is some thought about how he views himself as a teacher.
Like yes, of course he refuses to compromise on the quality and rigor of the education he imparts, and he would find it unforgivably unethical to lower his standards in order to pass more students who had not genuinely learned the material. This is core to his character.
However, as someone who is a teacher IRL, I know the absolutely miserable feeling setting that kind of standard can cause. There's the obvious disheartening sense of disappointment ("Are students these days really not capable of doing the work correctly? Is our future in danger, if this is the highest level of understanding our current generation of students can achieve?"), but even worse than that is the self-doubt.
"Is this somehow my fault? Am I not teaching this material in the right ways for the students to learn? Is there something I could have done differently to get through to these students? Would a better teacher have a higher passing rate?"
We know that Ratio does (or at least did) struggle with feeling inferior to the Genius Society, so I think it is also likely, as much as he absolutely will not budge on his academic standards, that he has doubts about his teaching ability as well.
This is the man who wants to educate the entire world to cure the disease of ignorance, and yet only 3% of his actual students are able to get there. How can someone who gets so few of his direct students to a state of enlightenment hope to enlighten the whole universe? If so few students are successfully learning the material of a given class, doesn't that mean the teacher is doing something wrong?Would a better teacher--would a genius, maybe--not be able to impart their knowledge more efficiently and educate even the most challenging of students?
As someone constantly struggling with that balance between keeping academic standards high while also meeting the needs of today's students, I think the passing rates of his courses must affect Dr. Ratio much more deeply than I've seen fans discuss. I think he would question himself harshly over his class success rates, and I think he must be constantly trying to push himself to become the best teacher he possibly can be.
tl;dr: I hope one day the HSR fandom will stop sleeping on the fact that Ratio is an actual practicing professor who probably has astronomical levels of teacher angst. 😂
