its suprisingly accurate to how it feels to be an athlete training in a big school.... like yeah, you do become friends with people just by training in each others vicinity for a few days. at least one of your peers will get really into acupuncture and or herbal remedies in order to try and treat a repetitive strain injury. you do develop rivalries and yes they do get kinda gay

they need to add an event to career where you and the horsegirls youre training go out for drinks to celebrate after a competition and then they all drunkenly tried to get you laid. and they also need to make a horse girl thats incredibly good at racing but only when shes high as fuck. for accuracy.

my current theory is that tracen academy is just one of those all-ages training schools... their non-training classes are just to teach the girls about technique and how to train without injuring themselves. which is how you get maruzensky, who is old enough to be able to drive and buy herself a car, and nishino flower, who is in elementary school (i think?) going to the same classes.

its like signing up for summer swimming classes at your local public pool, and suddenly youre rivals with a 9 year old who signed up to the same classes as you.... lots of places here are like that, i wonder if its the same in the uma musume world?

the horse girl on the left is an incredibly talented researcher with extensive knowledge of chemistry and medicine, to the point where she regularly synthesizes weird drugs in her dorm and makes you take them. she has dialogue where she talks about how she was "when she was a child", and is old enough to be regularly buying dangerous chemical compounds on the internet.

the horse girl on the right still thinks santa claus is real.
