A little context with this one, so I'm part of a discord server with art, and something that often happens there it's art themes, and this theme is drawing yourself as SSBU characters, and I may not have the game, but I went for characters I can play with or I wish to main when I get the chance (this is up to Byleth).
Honestly, I like this a lot, I might pick this up and do all of the roster to make it a series, maybe when I get the game in like... who knows lol
And as a little bonus, one I did for my friend @krizeros as Hero Eleven/Luminary. go check him out and like his art and tell him he's cool. :D

y'ever just get way too invested into thinking about a needlessly complex and thorough potential story mode for smash bros? Cause I do, all the time. I chucked in some assist trophies cause they'd either make great characters or they're just fun to consider and that's kinda what this is

Independent Miniature Multimuse RP/Ask blog for a handful of characters from a few different media, including (but not entirely limited to) --
Nero Sparda from Devil May Cry
Bakugou Katsuki from My Hero Academia
Erik from Dragon Quest XI
Uchiha Sasuke from Naruto
Trevor Belmont from Castlevania
WARNING: Characters will have swearing and this blog will include dark topics, so if you don't like it, leave now.
Blog is somewhat of a work in progress (mainly because it takes me forever to get to pages and whatnot).
Beloved by Roxy.
Added note below!
Note: Most of my icons with borders and images are commissions I had for other blogs that I'm reusing, most of which were done by Loke, @lokesroleplaymulti. If you want to believe the shit revolving around her, fine, but if you do, hard block me. The ones harassing her are bullies with no life and I don't want to be associated with their bullshit.
If you have no problem with that, welcome to my blog and I look forward to RPing with you!

Why do you think the scions are the 'scions of Erdrick' and not the 'scions of Alef'? They're more closely related to Alef.
You can call them what you like. Like, Alef is a name only used in adaptations like the CD drama and the novelisations so I don't refer to his game incarnation as that, i call him the hero of Alefgard, the hero of Tantegel, or just the first hero.
In fact, Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road Victory, which mostly uses the names the heroes are known as, calls the first hero ロトの血を引く者参 (Roto no chi o hiku monosan) which is like 'Roto's (Erdrick's) descendant' or if you'd like you could use the word 'scion' you could also translate it as 'scion of Erdrick.'
youtube
I'm not actually sure where the name 'scions of Erdrick' for the DQ2 party is used.
If we look at DQMBRV again, they're just individually named as ローレシアの王子 (Rōreshia no ōji) or prince of Midenhall, サマルトリアの王子 (Samarutoria no ōji) or prince of Cannock, and ムーンブルクの王女 (Mūnburuku no ōjo) or princess of Moonbrooke. Then it refers to them collectively as 勇者たち (yūsha-tachi) or 'heroes.'
youtube
Meanwhile, some appearances of the hero of DQ2, such as the clip from DQ2 seen in the true credits of DQ11, use the name ろらん (Roran) which some think comes from the Japanese name for Midenhall, ローレシア (Rōreshia).
Tumblr media
But, if you want to use the CD drama and novelisation names like Alef, the hero of DQ2 gets called アレン (Aren) or Allen there.
Point is, the names used officially get changed up sometimes so really call them whatever you want. I think Dragon Quest fans will probably know who you mean if you say 'scions of Alef'.
ANYWAY, sorry for that tangent. To answer your actual question, I think it's probably because Erdrick is the big iconic figure in the first three games. I mean those games are called the Erdrick trilogy after all. It's like yeah they're descended from the first hero but more importantly they're descended from Erdrick the legendary hero. The game is even called Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line in reference to the bloodline of Erdrick.
(Hey! There's another thing you could call them: 'luminaries of the legendary line.' Yeah that's a mouthful but technically it's an official English name.)

Still thinking Dragon Quest thoughts but DQ11 is running out of steam for me so I'm switching to DQ3's remake properly lol
And that game is making me think of a different noms oriented DQ inspired idea track I've had, with a bunny preyboy protagonist instead >3> Name of Mudison, because his dad would be name Muda.
Thinking of basically like, he was taken in as an orphan by a foxeh who used to be an devil demon king overlord final boss dude who was in charge of a nation of monsters (predators), but that was a long time ago and now he's just living in seclusion. Found the bunny infant after his home was destroyed during a storm and his family was gobbled up by preds, so he took the child in and raised him to be a 勇者 "yuusha" (the "hero" title in japanese in Dragon Quest) because he thought that'd be funny.
was basically ruling the world being a walking natural disaster and kingdom devourer, then one day was like "okay this is boring I'm done" and just up and disappeared. Various stories about what happened to him, but no one really knows the truth. That he just dipped lol. Found prey protag boy alone and was like "this might be fun for a while I guess" and adopted him raised him to be RPG protagonist OP busted O-o
Finally once he turns 16 his dad boots him out to go become an adventuring hero dude, and the bunny is all like " c= " cuz he's a real boy scout paragon type who wants to help everyone and solve problems.
Dressed up like this cuz I DO love the Erdrick costume lol
Tumblr media
Heads into the closest castle town to get his start, first person he runs into literally runs into him because she's a thief-y mouse girl. She yoinks his coinpurse but he snatches her hand. And while she's like >.>'' he's just like " =3 hi, speaking of my money, know where I can get some more? Don't think I have enough to buy some proper adventuring gear with." And she's like =x well you can always go gamble it at the town Arena.
And he's like oh cool an Arena, I can fight in that and get prize money maybe, good suggestion ^^
And mouse girl is like =/ yeah no, I said you should try betting on the fights, not actually JOIN the fights. Little bunny boy like you would get gobbled up instantly.
But he's already heading towards the fight pits and she's like >.> and follows along. He enters to fight despite all skeptism, and uses the Arena provided sword and shield gear. Gets sent out to fight some "Monsters"
In this setting I'm basically imagining it just being furries. Prey species furries as the "civilized" ones with towns and castles and whatnot. Pred animals just being overworld and dungeon dwelling random encounter dudes. In place of the typical fantasy monster races, you'd just have carnivore furries. like going through the monster manual and just making them lions and tigers and bears instead lol. Instead of harpies, you'd have raptors like eagles and hawks. Instead of orcs, you'd have boars. Ect. Probably still would be dragons though cuz dragons HAVE been pretty much coopted by furries lol.
So he goes out in the Arena to fight the Arena preds, like beefy tiger dude and wolf dude and bear dude. And long story short he totally wins in a darkhorse victory. Using unique Yuusha magic like Zap to pull out the win. Gets the prize money for beating the Arena. And as he leaves the mouse thief girl is like hey wow good job not getting eaten, and it turns out she bet on him and made BANK because he was the underdog. Her name is Hazel. He wants to start an adventuring party which he invites her to join. She says she'll think about it, but the next day after he buys some Adventure gear she meets up with him at the pub where they go to recruit two more Party members.
First recruited party member to join is a black mage squirrel boy, big hat logan sized wizard hat and he casts from a spell book. He's a squeaky book worm type. He joins up because the news about a bunny boy winning at the arena was making waves in the city so he figured he should tag along with a strong adventurer and go out and get some practical experience.
Last to join the party is a white mage dog girl. Canines are predators, but dogs are domesticated and it's a whole world building thing. Dogs are the only carnivores accepted in prey society, because they can be trusted to at least ask prey permission before eating them and know that No means No. But the mousie and squirrelly would still be a little nervous about her asking to join them, because she's have MASSIVE fat voluptuous knockers. Just huge boobs. And preds having weight on them like that is an overt indication that they've eaten people - like her tits are obviously that big because she ate some dudes and they went to being padding on her breasts. But she promises that they were willing prey and in fact she has offered to let them out, but they like being a part of her, she's a good girl she promises. Bunny boy has no scruples about letting her join since he was raised by a predator anyway so he's nonplussed about it anyway (he does not reveal this information naturally.)
So we got Yuusha (hero) bunny boy, thief mouse girl, black mage squirrel, and white mage doggy. Going on QUESTS

What was your first exposure to the Dragon Quest series and which installment was the first one you played?
It was probably an advertisement for Dragon Quest 8 of some kind, or seeing the game on display somewhere. DQ8 was the first really big hit the franchise made in the west, so I must have been exposed to it on one of my many trips to Game Stop back in the day.
Truthfully the exposure that really sticks out in my memory are the Seth Green commercials for Dragon Quest 9
youtube
These commercials were all over TV when I was around seventeen. They must have worked cuz my brother got a copy of the game for his DS. I remember popping into it once or twice but it bounced right off of me.
To be honest I only really started getting into Dragon Quest pretty recently in my adult life. Probably mostly because of my boyfriend if I think about it. He played the original Dragon Warrior on the NES as a kid, so the series has some nostalgia for him. Something at some point maybe a video I watched maybe the trailer for Your Story made me wanna start playing Dragon Quest 5 on the DS. And THAT game REALLY got its hooks in me, I fucking loved every second of it. After that I downloaded the original NES games and their SNES remakes and played them, beaten the 1st game in particular a handful of times now I find it a very zen experience.
I was always much much more into Final Fantasy while growing up. But I'm very happy to have given time to the DQ series, I think it's a franchise with so much personality and I kind of adore that it's a series that never rested on its laurels. Dragon Quest INVENTED the Japanese RPG, but it strove to subvert the conventions that it more or less created every step along the way. Dragon Quest 4 and 5 in particular are games that challenge and flip standard fantasy epic formulas in such a delightful way. In DQ4 you spend the first half of the game playing as the PARTY MEMBERS that eventually join up as the Chosen Heroes traveling companions, and it is tens of hours before you ever even start playing as the Main Character (in the original NES game at least, the DS remake adds a prologue where you play as the hero first). And Dragon Quest 5 is quite simply one of the best RPGs I have ever played in my life, I don't even know where to start and I'd be loath to spoil anything about it.
I intend to absolutely devour the Dragon Quest 3 remake when it comes out this month. I'm very much a late comer to this series but I heckin dig it and cannot recommend it highly enough. I would genuinely suggest starting with Dragon Quest 1 because I think it lays the best foundation for the series and is a very simple basic and charming game and it's not very long only about a dozen hours or so. After that the DQ3 remake is probably going to be the one stop shop for anyone wanting to break into the series when it comes out. After playing those I'd say the DS and mobile ports of DQ 4 and 5 would be worth playing because you'd get the most out of them with that experience of the standard that those games gleefully subvert. Personally I find 6 and 7 pretty meh but tastes vary. 9 is worth playing if DQ3 really hit for you because 9 has the most in common with 3.
If all of those games are a bit too retro for you, I don't think it'd be wrong to start with Dragon Quest 8 because it's a bit more of a modern experience with full english voice acting, which might be more what people would expect and find tolerable from a long RPG. DQ11 is the most recent game and is an incredible experience but I personally feel it benefits the most from having experience with previous games in the series rather than just jumping right in with that title, but hey all of the games are designed to be accessible as someone's first so there's no wrong choice.
I haven't touched the spin off games like Heroes and Builders personally but they all look pretty fun too.
