The protagonist of this chapter is Levina, a Steadfast Knight with a heart of gold... well, she's not exactly a knight. She wishes for nothing more than to keep those who she cherishes safe, however due to various streaks of 'bad luck' she is unable to become a part of the Knights of her kingdom. She's determined to see to her goals, and who knows. Maybe this time she might actually become a real knight...

Ancient Babylonia - The Curious In ancient times— before the destruction of Babylonia— lives a curious being with eyes full of wonder. He, however, was not exactly what you’d call ‘human’… But that did not stop him from taking in everything he could learn! Especially with the finished construction of Babylonia’s new defender… but the question remains, just who will be the first to become the pilot of the Steel Titan?

The protagonist of this chapter is Meliodas, an angel-like being who is overly curious and looks at the world through a lense of childlike wonder... Is this partially due to him being an amnesiac? Who knows. He lives in Babylon with his best friend, Mystia, who is a researcher into Demons and Emotions and is trying to find the connection between the two.

This is also... the chapter I took the most creative liberties with. At least, in a history wise point of view because I'm pretty sure the Ancient Babylonians didn't actually have giant mechs. but oh well.

Golden Age of Piracy - The Captain A new rumor has taken the world by storm— an Island that hosts the world’s greatest treasure! A young captain sets out with her crew upon their beloved ship inherited from her late father, the Dragon’s Heart, in search of this treasure! But they’re not the only ones seeking this treasure, could an all out war at sea break out because of this rumor? Is it even real? The Captain is determined to find it and the truth!

The protagonist of this chapter is Captain Ashley, a bold and brash pirate captain determined to find the truth about the rumored island of treasure. While she may be cocky as hell, maybe even slightly reckless at times, she holds a deep care for her crew and treats them as if they were family.

Victorian Era - The Inventor An Inventor works day and night to prove herself to the world— to prove she is capable of making something great. When one day, an invitation to an inventing competition winds up at her doorstep! But this competition isn’t all that it seems, as some people are willing to do anything to get to the top. But does she have what it takes to persevere and show off her stuff to the world? Or will she drown under the pressure from her competitors?

The protagonist of this chapter is Evangeline, a young adult with a passion for inventing and mechanics. She goes under the alias of Evan when presenting her inventions however, as it's much easier to get recognition when people see you as a man instead of a woman in this field. She is hard working and determined, and would definitely try to take apart a phone to see how it works.

Pre-Present Day - The Phantom Some time in the future— due to a faulty experiment— One man is sent back through time and space and winds up some day in the past— just exactly when we don’t know. He’s lucky that he knows the local language, but there’s just one problem with that… He can’t speak it! So whilst traversing the land as a mute, he uncovers a secret lying within the countries’ museums, a collection of jewels that can grant one wish if gathered together! Of course, he aims to use them to get home, but it seems that somebody else has their eyes on these jewels. Thus making it a race against the clock to gather them all up!

The protagonist of this chapter is Haruki Tsukano, formerly a japanese scientist now forced into being a Phantom Thief in Europe. He's the oldest out of the cast considering he's in his late thirties, and is constantly tired. But underneath the Phantom Thief persona he's rather cocky, in reality he's a tired old man though(/hj)

He is, one of my favorites due to him essentially being the straight-man of the group despite going on potentially the wackiest of all the adventures the protags go through. My man literally got sent through time.

I will say that post final chapter he quits his job as a scientist and becomes... a biology teacher.

Early 2010’s - The Student Back in the early 2010’s, a young girl sets out to do the most important things on her bucket list after her sister passes away. Yet after that, what remains for her to do within this life? Will she simply jump straight to completing the tasks she has, or take longer and find new things to add onto her list as she gets it done? Who knows, that decision is yours…

The protagonist of this chapter is Riley, and I will not kid you but this is probably the third/second heaviest chapter in terms of theme. Considering that after Riley completes her list she, well, she considers/attempts to kill herself depending on which route you take.

Riley is a quiet girl who tends to keep to herself most of the time. However she is always open to learn new things, to experience something new— as that is the philosophy her sister had, to always keep your mind open to new experiences. She does, however, also carry a sense of righteousness and will berate herself if she simply stands by and lets someone who doesn’t deserve it get hurt.

Riley is definitely one of my more complex protagonists. she's got a bit going on already. Dead sister, dead father, kinda crappy mom, the works y'know? Her chapter doc is also the one that's the most complete.

(SPOILER) The Far Far Future - The Survivor In a distant time— far further than what we’ve seen before— A youth leads their team of elite trained friends into battle with the monsters that plague earth, all in the hopes that their home can be restored to its former glory with the REM project.

The protagonist of this chapter is Hajime, the steadfast determined leader of the SET(Sin Eradication Team), which is comprised of teenagers like themself who are on the cusp of adulthood. They're determined to restore earth to it's former glory, but do they have what it takes?

I remember that someone joke the three Frankies are crushing on Lucky, and I immediately thought “Ooooh, the three kinds of enemies to lovers dynamic.” Then I also remember that everyone agrees that the chat is into their relationship, (at least the Real Frankie and Lucky one).

So my newest headcannon is the chat shippers are divided into probably four groups. The toxic yaoi shippers (Real Frankie x Lucky), the doom yaoi shippers (Monster Frankie x Lucky (consider doom because of how they might be “force” to kill each other), the regular enemies to lovers shippers (Cartoon Frankie x Lucky (they have beef and might kill each but they only yap), and the whoever shippers (two or three Frankies x Lucky). They mainly chill with each other but there are a lot of ship wars, so much so that people that never watch the show nor really know the people/characters are starting to get into it, they are also the much more tame shippers. The ones that do watch the show goes absolutely crazy if they see any signs of their ships, (even if it is one-side), being real.

I also imagine Real Frankie not exactly liking the shipping (not because he is being shipped with Lucky but because the other Frankies are involved, they’re his contestant dammit). Monster Frankie does not care, he doesn’t really go on the internet or view chat (but if saw one piece of fan art of the ship and wonder what kissing or holding Lucky is like, that is between him and god). Cartoon Frankie is all for it, it pisses off everyone involved and he is here for it, (he may also like how Lucky and him look in some of fan-works). Lucky, however, is ready to jump out the window and call the deal off (the fingers are practically touching) but is taking so many deep breaths that, they sort of wonder if their lungs are getting any air, so they can not call the deal off and jump out the window. Henry is trying his best to comfort Lucky because he remember the only time he got on the internet saw his own ships, as well as some fan art, and swearing to never go back on there again. His comfort is terrible though and Lucky is considering punching him in the face/phone. Detective Duck has no idea and that is why he is Lucky’s favorite person/thing.

So before I checked out Alien Stage, I asked an irl about it to get a feel for the series. They jokingly described Alien Stage to me as "Hunger Games with doomed yuri and yaoi plus some toxic het on the side", and after catching up with the playlist of hits... yeah, that's pretty accurate. I'm so invested in this now 🤡

I have Ruler of My Heart stuck in my head, specifically this English cover of it! To probably no one's surprise, I'm really gravitating to Luka... WHAT CAN I SAY, I LOVE ANGELIC LOOKING CHARACTERS WITH PRINCELY AND CHARISMATIC PERSONAS THAT ARE ACTUALLY SO MANIPULATIVE AND SCUMMY. AFSLFAYOEFIYFAEEAF; AND HOW CAN I NOT ADORE A GUY THAT PULLS THSI KINDA FACE:

I think part of his charm is that contrast between how he's seen as a "prince" by his fans when he's anything but. The artists outdid themselves with the MV; it perfectly conveys how truly terrible Luka is. I was so uncomfortable watching the video play out. The way he progressively creeps closer and keeps invading Mizi's personal space, taunting her, imitating her dead bestie/crush, putting his hands all over her, AND THAT GROSS WHISTLE HE DOES IN THE BEGINNING???? That made my skin CRAWL. Luka is for real so awful and I love that for him-- MIZI WAS RIGHT TO SWING AT HIM, IT WAS CATHARTIC 💀

I wanna give big props to Mizi's facial expressions too... They're so despair-filled and delicious, even when it's just her widened eyes repeating on the screen. The animation specifically for the line "I don't believe you're a liar" is top tier 👌 It's nothing fancy, but it conveys just how distressed Mizi is and how that's impacting her ability to sing. The way she gulps is so punchy and visceral. THE HATE IN MIZI'S EYES AS SHE'S RESTRAINED FROM COMING AT HIM AGAIN???? Good stuff. The twist at the end where the stage gets smoke bombed (?) and Mizi is rescued by the rebellion was great too. It robs Luka of the satisfaction of seeing his rival gunned down and him being declared as the victor. (P.S. I thought Hyuna was Jamil when I first saw her design; this is proof that Jamil has cool onee-san energy/j) Super looking forward to seeing Luka square off against Till, who is another favorite of mine. The eyebags— Till the End is probably my second favorite song so far; it's so intense in the close-up shots of Till singing his heart out to the audience. (Poor Mob-kun though, bro's getting DESTROYED out here...) I admire Till's fighting spirit but at the same time I feel so bad every time he's subdued 💦 Whereas I want Luka to get knocked down a peg, I want Till to find happiness and safety...

All the jayce defenders saying "actually he did the right thing, act 3 will prove he saw the future / Viktor asked him to / that wasn't Jayce" consider: it doesn't matter whether he was right or wrong. Lbr, it would be incredibly OOC for anyone on this whole damn show to make a good or "right" decision.

It's the bad decision show. That's what we love about it.

I don't need act 3 to justify or condemn his actions, I need it to finally give the emotional context that has frankly been lacking their whole arc so far. Going from resurrecting your dead partner with evil magic and promising him your undying devotion to blasting a hole through his chest without a word requires some uhh. Elaboration. And Viktor's dispassionate "it's time to say goodbye now" (I know he's already hexbrained but come on) and just looking placidly at Jayce the whole time? There's been no in-text acknowledgment of where his expressiveness has gone, his anger and desperation and betrayal. Like we can all infer it's the hexcore but not even mentioning it on-screen feels empty imo.

And to all the people saying "you're not ready for toxic doomed yaoi if you can't handle them killing each other, this is peak romance" well, for now that reads a bit hollow to me. Don't get me wrong, I'll take my favorite characters elbow deep in each other's blood and guts over a chaste kiss and a 'nice' romance any day. But that's just the thing: being splattered in your partner's viscera means being connected at an intrinsic level, means being closer to another person than should ever be possible. Jayce punched through Viktor's chest from a distance. Viktor took it like there was no heart in there to break.

I need the heartbreak, dammit. Make it mean something, that's all I ask.

My favorite ships are Sunstalker, Glacierwinner and Cherrylime (Vermillion x Chameleon).

I never ship anything canon, because it's boring.

Sunstalker and Glacierwinner are actually from my AUs (Sillydark and Lightgiver). They are both thematic: villain and a hero. Only in the case of Glacier and Battlewinner in this story they work on the same side, but compete to get their way.

And in Sunstalker, Darkstalker is trying to be the ultra emperor of the whole world, and Sunstalker just wants to be friends with everyone and prevent the apocalypse.

And Cherrylime... well, it's the aesthetics of how a serious loser and a playful handsome man came together.

Short answer, I love this duo and they’re one of my favorite toxic yaois in this fandom however comma during DL they’re definitely unethical and I’ve already gone through all the the intricacies of how DL went badly

Long answer

I think they’re fascinating because they both tend to idolize the other while both using the other as an excuse to avoid their problems and dooming the both of them in the process. When they’re around each other they’re usually only Positive and any Negativity is very jarring (especially from Grian’s perspective, who sees B as a safe person). Introducing negativity there is like being tagged when you’re on base- it shouldn’t be allowed they don’t know what to do with it

Except it’s somewhat unbalanced

BigB keeps finding himself in situations where he’s the failsafe for Grian’s poor decisions. In 3L the Blue Sword Boys were all but planning a rescue mission for Grian midway through the war. In DL obviously Grian ran away to BigB when Scar was his soulmate, then again in LimL Grian ran to him when the other two Bad Boys died

In all three of these seasons, you can argue having this connection got BigB killed! In 3L BigB was still reaching out to Grian as Scar and Bdubs cornered him (then he turned on Grian but shhh), in DL Grian killed Ren, BigB’s soulmate, and in LimL Grian got the Nosey Neighbors into SEVERAL scenarios that cost them time

Again, they idolize each other but BigB has the understanding that Grian brings danger into his life. Yet he still ultimately views Him as a positive thing. In fact, I’d even argue that the added danger is what BigB idolizes him FOR

And that’s because BigB is scared of getting into dangerous scenarios. He usually bases alone, he develops an alter ego to run from the consequences of killing Cleo, he has to psyche himself up for Any type of physical attack on someone and when he does strike he’s screaming “AAAAAAA” the whole time!

Grian doesn’t need to do that, it comes naturally to him

Then on Grian’s side of things- he’s a coward too! Except he’s constantly masking it with his thrill seeking, trying to be the scariest thing in the room not just to feel strong but so that everyone else Leaves Him Alone. In fact, Grian ALSO tends to base alone! Or at least he tries to, until some group comes along and tosses him over their shoulder like a sack of potatoes. He makes secret alliances to save his own skin (yes, alliances plural, there were Several), and is usually the first to run when trouble comes his way

And all that running is Tiring.. it’s so, so tiring

So him idolizing BigB is him idolizing that “safety” he sees BigB having. Grian has never had a direct interaction with one of BigB’s risks, nor does he have any reason to see BigB as a threat in the same way other people are “threats.” He runs off to BigB over and over again because he sees BigB as someone that can save him, maybe even the Only person that can save him

Except again, what ends up happening is Grian gets BigB killed

Also couldn’t find a way to fit it in here but iirc BigB is the first person Grian actually built a grave for and I’m so normal about that

The power dynamic, their interactions, the TENSION between them is so hot, and the fact that chuuya went insane after dazai's death makes me feel things 👀

It sucks that their relationship isn't explored much in beast but I can imagine how interesting it would've been
