Hojo had the dumbest idea to test his hypothesis for his Reunion theory. Key word on test. Like it's one thing to inject a baby from the womb with alien cells, thus leading that baby with enough psychological trauma to go bonkers. But for that baby to end up bringing upon the end of the world and dragging randos along with him is like a step down in scientific inquiry.

Ever heard of other research methods Hojo? Bet your piss poor baby science delicacies never heard of a null hypothesis either. In fact, with his ego, he wouldn't have written one down. And talk about research biases, he took every risk he shouldn't have done. Let's make a checklist shall we: ✅ sampling bias, ✅ selection bias, ✅ ommited variables. Definitely has information bias. Maybe I'm missing more but I conclude, Hojo realistically would make a horrible scientist.

What were you going to do when the world ended Hojo? You wouldn't have time to finish that poor excuse of a research paper once the planet's BLOWN to smithereens. Gonna finish that paper in the lifestream? Oh wait- looks like that paper disintegrated into it and it seems to be your time as well.

I'm almost finished with Throne of Glass series (on the end of KOA).

I've read all of CC 1-3.

And all of ACOTAR 1-5.

I have a lot of thoughts blooming.

But, the one that is lingering the most with me...is the idea of Rhys being Valg, much like Maeve.

Since the end of TOG was written &/or published around the same time as ACOTAR/MAF/WAR, I wonder if a thread of thought presented in TOG expanded into MAF.

There is a whisper of the concept of: bad guys actually being the good guys. Maeve paints a picture of the utopian world that she is creating and that she's not really the villain (so be it if she has to use torture/ mind control to achieve it). Maeve also says not all valg are bad. Indicated by her spiders loyalty.

This aligns a lot with how Rhys is presented. He's a dreamer, not a villain. So what if he keeps a 3rd of his court under ground. So what if he stole from Tarquin. So what if barges onto Tamlins land and has secret meetings there. It's for the greater good.

You can see this line of thought toyed with in TOG and see how it could be played out in MAF/WAR.

Also, the fact that his mom and sister were beheaded. 🤯 The only way to kill Valg, other than with fire or healing magic. Why do you think he hates Lucien so much? The guy has both. Keeping his mate under IC control is the ultimate trick up the sleeve if Lucien were to ever use those powers against them. In the meantime, threatening and belittling him seems to be the answer.
