1. Are you named after anyone?

Yeah actually! I'm named after my mother's sister who passed away when she was 10. (My mom named me that for a bad reason though. It was to spite her siblings when she got more inheritance when her mom dues. Some whole mess. Don't care for my given name)

2. When was the last time you cried?

It was from me being too frustrated from a family interaction where for 2 hours I don't think I got a single sentence out that wasn't interrupted or spoken over. That was 2 weeks ago roughly?

3. Do you have kids?

Nope! Don't think I want them anymore either! I have my beautiful child spoons 🐈.

4. What sports do you play or did you play in the past?

I play tennis when I have someone to join me 🤷‍♂️ I used to play basketball in highschool

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Genuinely I only seem to use sarcasm when I'm actually being mean. Lately anyway.

6. What's the first thing you notice about people?

The way they talk maybe? Or maybe how good their hygiene appears to be? (I've been in social circles with a LOT of individuals who neglect themselves in that aspect)

Green!!

I like scary movies more!

It's time for another very important annoucement-

When engaging with media on any kind, it is totally ok to not like it!! It is totally ok to express not liking it!! Other people also have a right to express that they do not like something you might like!! Also! You're allowed to just not talk about it with those people!!!

I think social media has convinced us that we all have to have a take on everything and that it has to be said out loud when it really doesn't. If you are engaging in fandom for fun and you see something that makes you feel bad, you don't have to say anything about it. You don't even have to look at it. And I'm not talking about stuff that's like, people/media being bigoted and stuff like that, I mean totally harmless opinions like "I don't like this season of a show because I don't find the narrative fulfilling".

When you're looking to interact with people around something that brings you a lot of joy, negative opinions and criticism can sometimes feel very personal. They're not personal, I promise. Just let it slide off, and move past it. You don't have to defend your thing or argue your case. It's totally fine, just let it be. I fell into this trap for a long time and honestly it just made me waste a lot of time being upset when I could've just been enjoying my thing that I like. Yes it's important to reflect on the media you enjoy and to analyze it and think critically about it, I feel very strongly about that. But at the same time, the primary purpose of entertainment is to be entertained. If it's making you miserable when you engage with other people about it then it's worth changing how you engage.

in other news! it turns out if you want to draw a comic about the strage di senigallia, you have to figure out designs for all the people in the room, but if you draw vitellozzo, you also have to draw his brother because he's like. there. in a dead way. something something vitellozzo's desire to avenge his brother manifesting in his desire to brutalize florence for their role in his brother's death.

that said, I did not want to draw military armor for an illustration that was partially designed to test out some splatter brushes. in the future though….I will have to revisit that visual…..

My pig drama

So my neighbors acquired a miniature pig. I am unsure how exactly they acquired this pig. I was told the pig would die otherwise if our neighbors did not take in this pig. Notably, we live in the suburbs. Not particularly wealthy suburbs. This pig does not have much space.

But the pig was fed and watered, so we didn't snitch. The pig was happy enough. They had a sort of shelter for her from the heat (it gets over 100⁰ regularly in the summer)(we also get tornadoes and hail and misery).

Anyway, my neighbors moved. They had been planning on moving for a few years and had been getting ready to move for over a year.

The mother in the house is a self-described "animal lover" and abandoned this fucking pig. They took the little shelter and left the pig. There's an extra fence panel leaning against the fence line that the pig has been sheltering in. I'm so pissed.

Anyway, my mom and I have been feeding and watering this pig. We're limited by the fence between our yards, so we've been feeding the pig apples, oranges, carrots, etc. We've been trying to find a home for this pig and have been unsuccessful.

Now, one day she did get out. Another neighbor saw her wandering the streets and called animal control. Animals over 200lbs are illegal in my city (which would include a pig). The city said they have two weeks to get rid of the pig or they will take her. That was three months ago.

Today was my breaking point. It was absolutely pissing rain. Wind gusts blowing in the streets, flood warnings, we probably got well over 10" of rain. It's still raining out there. The pig was trying to shelter under this shitty fence panel from the rain. I was out there feeding her, knowing that what I was feeding her wasn't enough. But we can't exactly throw pig feed over the fence and oranges are expensive. She's been losing weight. She just can't stay there.

So if somebody can take a pig or knows somebody that can take a pig (that does not live in the fucking suburbs. we're not doing this again), please let me know. Or if you have any tips about how I can find her a good home. Her name is Mavis. She's a miniature pig. I don't really have any good pictures of her because of the fence, but I can try. She's very sweet. She comes running when you call for her. I don't know how she does with other pigs, but my neighbors did have dogs (and mean dogs too)(actually those dogs were probably neglected too but that's for another time). She did well with the dogs, is the point.

I just don't get how someone can claim to love animals and then abandon them when they become inconvenient. They had plenty of time to find her a home. My mom has been thinking about just taking Mavis, but I don't think we can give her a much better life.

The husband comes over every now and then. I'm not really sure what he does with the house. I imagine he's getting it ready to sell, but it's been over a year and it's still a mess. He's not feeding her or filling her water bowl. I feel like I'm going fucking crazy.

All this post is saying is that animals are not infallible judges of character and some of them make really stupid vibe checks and that people should try not to take it personally. Unless youre a terf in which case they know and they hate you and you should take it personally

re that one post tbh i do want to stress i dont think animals are like magically psychic at knowing your True Gender tbh i think ppl definitely get way too weird about Animal's judgement of ppl.

Sometimes a dog will vibe check a man and the dog will be right and you should listen. but sometimes the dog will vibe check someone for no good reason. sometimes dogs have wack judgement. sometimes dogs have biases influenced by their owners or previous owners. like. there are Racist Dogs. its not the dogs fault, but that doesnt make the bias theyve developed less real, or less potentially hurtful. i dont think we need to like, Cancel Dogs Bc Sometimes Ppl Can Train Them To Be Racist, but we do need to stop perpetuating the idea that a dog's judgement of someone is infallible. theyre not responsible for it and its not their fault its developed, theyre just dogs, they didnt choose it, but that doesnt mean theyre RIGHT lmao. i think its important to stress this for many reasons but in regard to that last post specifically, if youve ever been vibe checked as a gender you arent by a judgy dog its literally not your fault. might not even be the owners fault. not the dogs fault cos like. its a fucking dog. you do kinda have to be the bigger person in that scenario cos the other person is. A Dog.
