You know, i swore off of watching any more marvel movies for a few years, but I did watch DP 3 because well, i used to know what deadpool used to be, and it used to be GOOD. it used to be not just funny, but it had heart too.
But well, it was very silly to expect anything like that when all marvel seems to be doing now is treating characters not as characters, but as conduits for one liners and jokes. Its the death of sincerity. The death of art, really. And the writing laughs at you for expecting anything more. Its laughing at you for ever having connected to these characters... because theyre NOT characters anymore.
And I guess thats why ive fully lost my passion for this stuff as of late.
And I cant even take it as brainless slop, because this brainless slop tells you with no pretense that this is a souless cashgrab that you fell for. And an expectation for a film... well that was your own mistake. Fork over the cash, waste your time, and move on.

My problem is that i get really nervous when people younger than me do certain things and i want to help but i tend to overstep and keep adding more and more and become kinda. Overwhelming. So instead i dont say anything at all. He was SO RUDE as well. He said that it was only about being gay and had no other messages or plotlines to it.
I think the worst thing about people like this is that they KNOW that it's just not for them and they still vocalise their opinions like they're the only people who matter in terms of deciding whether a show is 'good' or 'bad'. Which, of course, is mostly arbitrary. A guy who likes action movies with sci-fi undertones is never going to look at a romance coming of age series with any interest. (Random example, idc what sort of stuff he likes.)
Like, I don't want to read ur horseshit opinion with hints of homophobia in the comments of a post on a show that was made to celebrate being queer and queer people's experiences.
Learn when to not comment the stuff you think of!!!! It's not that hard!!!!

the greatest thing homestuck ever did for us was invent tricksters, thus letting us all design cute candy themed outfits for any and all characters even though the actual canonical designs looked like complete total fucking garbage

#this is just soaps/daytime television#its actually insane to expect all TV to conform to it#especially these days#but the genre has been around since the beginning. theyre just scrambling bc streaming doesnt have a dedicated viewing timeslot#for when people would be most likely watching while doing chores. tv as a medium was built around and for Bored Housewives#bc thats whod be there to watch it#so theyre feeling the pressure to make All of it fit the format lest they lose potential viewers#this is what they get for overextending to fill a niche they were never in#now that they gotta make their money back theyre just Original Thing But Bad At It#and labor and viewers both suffer for it#edit: looking at the notes#it is NOT 'tv for stupid people' dont be fucking snobs#it /is/ tv for people who would be equally well served listening to audio dramas bc it is streaming's attempt to poach that market#and animation /is/ getting the short end of the stick. again.
