Alright, so I keep having like this dream, or I think it's a dream, but it seems more like a memory.
In this dream or memory I'm reading a comic or a short story about the Avengers and this is how it sorta went.
Peter was in a car with his aunt and uncle, holding his pet tarantula, Karen. It was his 7th birthday and they were driving back home when they suddenly spot something in the middle of the road and swerved, crashing, killing his aunt and uncle. Peter, afraid and alone, leaves the reck and wonder through a forest filled with thick fog.
Peter continues to walk for a bit until a group of monster hunters find him. The leader walks up a knelt down asking "are you alright? What are you doing out here? It's dangerous." The leader was quickly interrupted by one of the others saying "don't fall for the monsters tricks, he must be an illusion." Firing his crossbow, spooking Peter, causing him to run away.
As peter runs through the forest dodging trees through the thick fog as arrows are fired at him. As the hunters chase him, they start to get picked off silently one by one, leaving only three left. Peter climbs up a tree, and the first man that spooked him followed yelling, "Get back here, you little brat!" The other two at the bottom and look around, realizing their group of over 20 people was down to just three.
Yelling up "boss! Come back down!" The man stops his chase in irritated confusion and yells back as he looks down "what!? Why?! We almost got the little-" he didn't see them. He was the last one. "Shit-" as he spoke he's pushed out of the tree by a ghost looking sheild. "Nice hit Steve." Yelled up what looked to be a zombie with a metal arm.
There was a red-haired vampire wiped blood from her chin as a satyr carrying a bow ask her, "You still hungry nat?" To which the vampire response "no thanks, clint." A green looking werewolf walks up alongside a harpy with feathers of a falcon. The harpy asks "what were those guys even chasing anyways?" They all paused and Steve looks back at the tree where peter was only to see a broken branch and a web
As the monsters were talking peter took the chance to jump down a run again. Shooting a web from his wrists to gain speed. He closes his eyes as he runs and bumps into something or someone. Peter lands on the ground and looks up to see a demon with a weird blue glow at his chest, looking down at him with a raised brow, standing next to what looked to another vampire with a sentient red cap that detaches itself and flies close to peter as if it's curious.
"A child?" The demon asks when the vampire says "he's not human, Tony. He's what those hunters were chasing." The demon thinks for a moment and reaches for Peter, who closes his eyes until he feels himself being picked up. "Guess he's one of us now."
And then it ends, like I wanna know if this is actually something that exists or if I made it up, but is so detailed that it's like a memory. Yall help me out I think im going crazy.

MSA X DP: The Ultimate Enemy Chapter 6: Fights for Skulktech 9.9/They going to Clockwork's lair/Watches the destroyed ruin by Dark Danny, Dark Sophie, Midnight Dan
Danny, Sophie, and Dan barely miss getting slammed by a cluster of arms. Going intangible, they snag Tucker, Sam, Monty, Elise, Susan, and Henry and fly them out of the room, then return through the door. Skulktech knocks him around for a bit, then grabs him by the neck and holds him up.
Sophie and Dan: Danny! *grabbed other clusters of arms*
ST (Skulker): Say goodbye,
ST (Technus): Ghost Children!
They lift a claw arm, which begins to spin like a scalesaw. Suddenly their gauntlet starts beeping the tune to Reveille.
ST (Skulker): Someone's hacked into the system? Again?! I thought we fixed that!
ST (Technus): We did! We must have accidentally synced up with somebody else's PDA!
Skulktech goes intangible, and their jets fire off. Dropping Danny, Sophie, and Dan, they take off through the ceiling. The door opens and Tucker, Sam, Monty, Elise, Susan, and Henry come in.
Tucker: Wow. I can still hack into his operating system with my handheld computer. I don't know whether that's exciting or depressing.
Elise: I can hack off his tech.
Henry: I do hack skills.
Danny: [leaping to his feet] Come on, follow me! [Going intangible, he flies up through the ceiling]
Sophie and Dan: Going on! (Going to Danny chase after Skultech)
Tucker: ... We'll walk.
Danny, Sophie and Dan flies after Skulktech across the evening sky. Below, at Casper High, Mighty Falcon, University School, Jazz and Lancer are talking, while Mr. Jerry is thinking of Danny, Sophie or Dan not done yet to answers C.A.T. tests
Jazz: So you're saying Danny stole the C.A.T. test answers? But how?
Arthur: (Mind: Uh oh, not good! I think my Sister has not done yet before ready to answer!)
Jane: Not good...
Mr. Lancer: I don't know. [holding up the briefcase] Unless your two brothers and your one sister suddenly gained the ability to turn invisible and reach through solid objects?
Jazz: [cringing] But Mr. Lancer, you still have no proof Danny took the test answers.
Mr. Lancer: Fair enough. They have up until the test to return the answers. But if they cheat, I won't just fail them. I'll destroy their future.
Back in the air, Danny, Sophie, and Dan are still chasing Skulktech
ST (Skulker): What are you waiting for? Activate the Purpleback Gorilla Override!
ST (Technus): Don't tell me how to do my job!
Danny, Sophie, and Dan zaps them with ectoblasts, and they fall from the sky to crash into the ruin of the Nasty Burger. We see that the heating element is still on, the meter inching higher. They blast off again.
ST (Technus): Activating Phantom Palm Pummeler!
Their hand opens, sending out a bluewhite ray that catches Danny, Sophie, and Dan and knocks them off course, smoking. It hits them again and they reverts to human forms, then falls a short way before going back to ghost forms.
Danny: You're shorting out my powers?!
Sophie: Not take my powers!?
Dan: You take my powers!? Not good!
ST (Skulker): Indeed. Pummeler might not work on you in the future, but we had a feeling it would work on you here.
Danny: The Future?
Sophie and Dan are surprised to hear that the futures
Sophie: Wait, it’s the future?
Dan: ! The Future? Do they have alternate timelines for the Future?
ST (Technus): [laughing] Oh, I love it. You're much less powerful than the other Phantoms we have to deal with!
A third blast hits them, turning them into humans.
Danny: What are you two talking aboooou [falling] aaaagh! [he catches himself one-handed on a flagpole. Danny looks up.] Wow. That flagpole thing works? I thought for sure it would [the flagpole snaps] breeaaaak!! [He falls and bounces off an awning into a pile of trash bags.] Guess I don't have a future as an Olympic gymnast. [An arm snakes through the pile and grabs him around the middle, zapping him.] Aaaaaaaugh! [It slams him to the ground.]
Sophie: AHHH! [she catches herself one-handed on a flagpole. Sophie looks up.] Phew, Huh? [the flagpole snaps] Breeaaaak!! AHHH! [It slams her to the ground.]
Dan: AHHH! [he catches himself one-handed on a flagpole. Dan looks up.] Phew, ?! [the flagpole snaps] AHH!!! [It slams him to the ground.]
ST (Skulker): You don't have a future, period!
ST (Technus): Not anymore!
Tucker VO: I wouldn't bet on that.
Elise VO: Not done yet!
Henry VO: What do you think of this?
Tucker, Sam, Monty, Elise, Susan, and Henry come running up, Tucker running the override on his PDA. A red laser hits Skulktech and they short out, falling. As they fall they catch themselves on a flagpole.
ST (Skulker) and (Technus): Aw poo
ST (Technus): Wow, that flagpole thing-
It snaps and they fall, crashing to land doubled over a lamppost. We see the CW medallion around their neck.
Danny: [still trapped in the cuffed arm] Way to go, guys!
Sophie: [still trapped in the cuffed arm] Not right, guys freed them off!
Dan: [still trapped in the cuffed arm] Not good! They got off!
Sam: Come on, Tucker, let's see if we can get this off!
Sam grabs the cuff and Tucker grabs Sam as they try to wrench it open, Monty and Susan try to free them, and Elise and Henry try to get off. Skulktech's medallion falls off and tinks to the ground, and they start to glow blue-white. The glow races along the arm, enveloping them, and they all vanish.
The scene switches to the inside of Clockwork's Tower. The viewer shows swirls of green, and gears tick and turn everywhere. The viewer blazes, and Skulktech and the trio are thrown through it to land on the floor. The cuff springs open
Tucker: Where are we?
Henry: ??? They are here? Not good...
Elise: Oh my god... Do they have Ghost World?
The three teams wander, looking up into the gear-ridden darkness. They approach a window with a clockface embedded in it.
Danny: I don't know. The Ghost Zone, I think. [We zoom out to see the entire tower, floating in the green haze of the Ghost Zone.] But... no part of the Ghost Zone I've ever seen.
Sophie: Clockwork's time lair home?
Dan: Right, not good what happened to them?
Sam: It happened right after his medallion fell off.
Susan: I noticed that Time Medal? It's the CW logo, the Clockwork short name of CW.
Monty: ??? Clockwork?
Tucker: Then I think I know how to get us back!
Elise: Yes, right! We are trying back to present!
Henry: Right, I think it’s they’re coming back here!
We follow his gaze to a box on the wall, where six more of the medallions hang. Tucker seizes one and puts it around his neck.
Elise and Henry are ideas and get two Time Medals necklaces and put them around their necks.
Tucker: [pumping his arms triumphantly] Haha!
Elise: Got it!
Henry: Right got!
Nothing happens.
Tucker: [Looking around, then dropping his arms.] Nothing, huh.
Elise: Not good happening...
Henry: Not sure, what happened...
Sam: No, but nice bling. [She goes to take a closer look at the viewer.]
Danny: [Looking more closely at Tucker's medallion] I don't like this.
Sophie: I don’t think, used to Time Medalist?
Dan: See it...
Sam: You're going to like this even less.
Monty: Hey guys! I noticed that viewers of the future!
Susan: Not good! Look at the screens!
The Three Teams join Sam, Monty, and Susan at the viewer, where Dark Danny, Dark Sophie, and Midnight Dan are laughing and throwing ectoblasts at screaming people and buildings, then laughing. A label on the screen reads FUTURE: 10 YEARS.

venlumimonth2023 day 3 - national boyfriend day
for #venlumimonth2023 event on twitter
sfw, tooth-rotting fluff
in which lumine makes a shocking-but-not-so-shocking announcement, venti is the happiest guy on earth, aether is in denial.
"apparently today is the national boyfriend day," venti says with a chuckle as he looks up at her from his phone. "must be why you really wanted us to go on a date today."
lumine laughs, scoots closer, and settles herself between his legs. "yes, i want to make it special."
venti's cheeks turn pink and he's grinning from ear to ear. he wraps his hands tight around her waist and kisses her cheek.
"i still can't believe i'm your boyfriend! me! i'm the luckiest guy on earth!"
"it's been three months, love, better start working on believing," lumine cups his cheeks, unable to resist the urge to pinch the soft skin. "are you having trouble cause we're being lowkey?"
"no, I'm happy as long as I'm with you," he says, playfully bumping his nose against hers. "just really amazed that someone as perfect as you are mine."
it's lumine's turn to blush and she momentarily hides her face in the crook of her neck.
"you're so cheesy."
his laugh vibrates in his chest. "that's cause i love you so much, my flower."
her face grows hotter and, to shut him up, lumine decides to kiss him.
venti doesn't protest, only letting out a happy hum as he pulls her down to lie on the soft blanket that's covering the trunk of the SUV. she came to him a few days ago, grinning widely, asking to go have a picnic in her dad's car. he agreed cause he can never say no to her.
now they're making out with the mesmerizing view of falcon coast as their backdrop. he can't stop nipping at her lips and she keeps chasing after his touch, as if to be apart would kill her.
they haven't even touched their meals, but venti can't really find it in him to care.
lumine's face is completely flushed when they finally broke their kiss. her honey eyes are warm, pupils all dilated as she looks at him.
"that expression is sinful," venti groans. "you'll be the death of me."
"cheesy." lumine laughs. "anyway, about being lowkey…"
"mm? what about it?" he asks distractedly, too busy staring at her lips.
"i've been thinking… i don't want to be lowkey anymore."
venti blinks. "you don't? but i thought you're worried about aether."
at the mention of her twin, who's also venti's best friend and bandmate, lumine rolls her eyes.
"well, then it's time for him to accept it."
"you're not worried?" venti ask softly, remembering how aether would always tell his bandmates that his sister is absolutely off limits.
"a bit, but he'll get over it," lumine snuggles into him. "do you want to go public?"
"hell yeah! you know how much i wanted to tell childe to back off. but most importantly—" he quickly adds when she gives him a look "—i want to let the world know how much i love you!"
"oh? and how would you do it?" her voice dips lower, teasing.
"like gush about how cute you are to everyone who would listen, something like 'gosh, look at lumine, she's so perfect and she's mine can you believe it? I could worship the ground she walked on' or something."
"venti!" A playful smack lands on his chest as lumine laughs, her face turns red again. "you're embarrassing me."
"aw, babe, i mean it though," venti's eyes widen innocently. "in fact, i think the entire world should love and worship you!"
"stop!"
lumine's laugh turns into delighted squeals as venti showers her face with kisses. she's just too damn cute and he loves her so much he wants to shout it on top of the world.
"okay, okay, enough, i love you, too." she giggles, placing her hands on his cheeks to stop him.
venti stops, but not without kissing her fingertip first. "okay, so you wanna stop being lowkey," he says, returning back on topic. "how are you planning to do that?"
"well…" lumine turns shy. she picks up her phone. "sit here, i want to take a picture of you."
"social media post? i thought you don't do cheesy stuffs on social medias." venti teases, but still poses for her anyway.
"just this once," she replies. "i know i said that before but i do think it's kind of cute. sometimes."
"well I'm smiling now, babe, take a picture of me."
venti's grinning. he looks a bit disheveled and blurred on camera because the sunset is right behind him, but lumine thinks it's perfect.
biting her lip to stop herself from smiling so widely, she snaps a picture of him.
"perfect," she shows it to him. "you're perfect."
"hey, the word perfect is reserved only for you."
"for the both of us," she rolls her eyes, before sitting beside him and wraps an arm around his shoulders. "now, let's take a picture together."
they're facing the sunset now, cheeks to cheeks, both grinning widely, eyes half-closed because of the bright light. but the picture looks adorable and anyone can tell that they look so happy and in love.
"give me a moment to post," she says, looking at the picture lovingly.
"can't you at least tell me the caption?"
"it's just a heart emoji, venti, sappy captions are more your style, remember?"
"mm, be sure to send the pictures to me. I'll whip you up a fifteen-pages love declaration."
"I don't think the word limit will allow you, love."
"watch me try anyway."
lumine laughs, then puts her phone aside, knowing it'll probably blow up soon, no doubt from aether.
as expected, in no less than two minutes, her brother's name covering the screen.
"mm, should've put it on do not disturb." venti grimaces.
"…you're kinda right," lumine nods as she ignores the call and goes straight to put her phone on do not disturb. "sorry aether, I'll talk to you later at home."
"he'll shave my head off tomorrow, i knew it."
"i won't let him! your hair is so fluffy it must be protected."
"my hero," venti lets out a dramatic sigh as he lies down again on the blanket, holding his hands out. "tomorrow might be full of terror, but i know i can face even the most fearsome monster if my lover gifted me a kiss~"
lumine laughs, her chest feeling light.
she lies on top of him, counting every second of his heart beat. "and a kiss i shall give you, my love."
their lips meet once again and the rest of the world — the sunsets, the muted phones, and everything in between — fades into the background.

Day 11 of Australia vacation: Wilderness and Waterfalls tour
The second (and final) day of our wildlife tour started off well: we stopped just outside of town and looked in a little dammed-up river pond. We could hear banjo frogs (the sound made me giggle), and then after a few minutes the guide pointed out a thin stream of bubbles. A moment later, a platypus surfaced!
I think it was a little smaller than I had imagined, but admittedly size is hard to estimate, especially when the creature keeps diving underwater. Even Brother-in-law was excited about this sighting, because he'd never seen a platypus outside the zoo before. I think they are endangered in mainland Australia but are actually doing okay in Tasmania? Or at least not as badly.
At most 15 minutes later, we pulled over because our guide had spotted an echidna by the side of the road! It was super cute, but slightly larger than I had imagined. It looked like a large hedgehog with a very long snoot. We were amazed to have seen both of Tasmania's monotremes in an interval of about 10 minutes!
While we were admiring it, I heard some unfamiliar bird sounds and asked the guide about them. He said they were coming from a yellow-tailed black-cockatoo, which is a bird I hadn't seen before. We managed to find it and I got a pretty good look. On the drive that day we also saw a few brown falcons (another new bird for me).
The next stop was in Mount Victoria Forest Reserve, where we took a short walk to the Ralph Falls Overlook. We heard some birds and spotted a gray shrikethrush high up in a tree. The forest was beautiful--lots of exciting moss--and the view of the waterfall was dramatic.
On the way back to the car, the guide did something I don't approve of: he played a recording of the pink robin's song. While I would never have done this myself, I understand that he did it because I had expressed a wish, when we booked the tour, to see a pink robin, and he wanted to fulfill that request. And it did work! After a couple minutes, the guide heard an answering song and turned off the recording. A pink robin had come to investigate and, if necessary, chase off the interloper making the sound in his territory. It was super cute! And even though it stayed on a high branch, I could tell even before getting the binoculars to my face that it was PINK. Such a brightly colored bird, very cute and small and round, and we had a decent look at it in the binoculars before it flew off. I was really pleased to have seen it, even though it was cheating to get it to show itself that way.
The next stop was for a short walk to St. Columba Falls, through a lush, primeval forest with a lot of moss, fungi, and centuries-old tree ferns. This trail was very heavily trafficked, and for good reason.
After that, we went to Pyengana Dairy (again) for lunch, and then did the brief Weldborough Pass Rainforest Walk, which included myrtles and an interesting set of interpretive signs written for children.
The final stop was at the decommissioned Mount Paris Dam, which had some pretty scenery and trees; then the guide took us back to the B&B, dropping us off around 4:30pm.
The rest of the afternoon was very relaxing--the first downtime I'd had in days! I finally had a chance to catch up on Tumblr (I hadn't even looked at it in a week, and I'm a dashboard completist so it took a while to read everything that people had posted in the meantime!) and write emails to my cousin (I normally write to her every day; there was a period of several days around New Year's when I didn't even have time to read my emails).
We also drank some sparkling wine and looked at photos together. Dinner was served at the B&B and included delicious potatoes from their garden, lots of vegetables, quiche, and chicken, plus a tasty dessert of a little pear cake with whipped cream. Afterwards we played a game.

I've seen a lady on FB ask how to get rid of sparrows. SPARROWS!! The adorable, tiny lil birds that are happily chirping everywhere!
Every year, when the crows are nesting and when their fledglings leave the nest, everyone is complaining and asking how to get rid of them.
Saying they kill all the smaller birds (they don't, they occasionally eat eggs but not enough to get rid of whole species of birds), that they attack and eat cats (excuse me??? they're vultures, but what crow is actively hunting down cats??), saying that theres too many of them and this is proof our city is overgrown and not maintained (the opposite is true, crows love short grass, the mowed down lawns of cities are a feasting ground to them), etc.
A baby crow left its nest next to my building this May, the lil guy hid in a big planting pot right next to a crowded walkway! The parents were l flying over peoples heads to chase them away. So many people complained, said we must get rid of them, they're a danger to our children, we have to get falconers to hunt them all down with their birds of prey, we have to shoot them all, so many death threats towards them. Over them protecting their young in its most fragile and dangerous age.
Another suggestion was to call animal control to take the lil one away, but this just reinforces the fear of humans!! This would make them guard their young even more aggressively next year.
So I went to the area they were "terrorising".
I talked to them in a calm, soft voice, I never turned my back to them, if they started getting stressed I'd slowly back up a bit while acknowledging them, only getting closer again when they settled down. I made a sign to warn people that a baby crow was nearby and I talked to anyone who was willing to listen!
(most people were very understanding! They told their children the crows were protecting their baby, they immediately understood why these birds were swooping, some left food and water for the lil guy thinking he was an injured adult crow, one amazing person laminated my sign about how to behave around swooping crows, most people are kind and loving!)
5 hours. For 5 hours, I stood there. I watched them, sat on a bench right under them while creating the sign, I got so close to the fledgling that I could touch it (to check for injuries).
I did not get attacked. In fact, when they attacked the people around me (which only happened a few times btw), I got in between them, simply stared at the crows, and kept talking to them to keep their focus on me.
As I was watching them, I noticed the fledgling climbing the bush it was in. Then I watched as it flew up into the tree next to me! It was now safely in the trees.
They stopped attacking for that day. The swooping over ppls heads decreased and after a few days stopped completely.
These crows were scared of people and protecting their baby. All I had to do was show them respect, show them im not a threat, and use my knowledge of their behaviour (they won't swoop if I'm looking at them).
Not only that, as I stood there for hours, I noticed they ignored 90% of the people (including every single child) and most of their "attacks" were them just loudly cawing at people. When they did swoop it was even more rare for them to make contact and actually hit anyone. These "terrorising attacks" happened rarely, considering how many people got close to their baby! They don't just attack everyone who dares to get near them. They leave most people alone, by far!
(the worst attacks were one poor dude that started running, screaming and flailing his arms, horrible idea, they chased him away and he fell down a couple times, and an old man who decided to take a big stick to try and beat them with it, the people who just walked away after the initial warning caw just got a crow flying over them loudly without touching them. While I understand that that's scary, I've lived through it last year, its even scarier for them to think their fledgling's life is in danger)
Today, they have two young kiddos who are getting better at flying and foraging every day!
How do I know that? Because those two crow parents bring them to my yard. Every day. The crows never ever came to my yard before that day.
We are nature. We can not and should not try to separate ourselves from other living beings. Animals living their lives and protecting themselves and their young aren't evil, they're scared.
Learn to listen to nature, how to stay safe around our fellow earthlings, life is much better, easier, and more wonderful that way!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
heres the lil crow from that day
Tumblr media
here is the lil guy weeks later, who now screams at my windows every day!
Tumblr media
here's one of the parents (middle) with the two fledglings, taking a sip of water from the garden
how to recognise baby birds? You can see the exposed lips around their beaks, their colouration is typically different than an adults (for hooded crows the head and neck aren't as black), they often look a bit ruffled!
If you see a bird like that on the ground it's most likely a fledgling learning to fly and doesn't need help! Unless they're in danger or visibly injured leave them be!

Legacy of Shinra ~ Origins of the Ink Demon Chapter 1 Finale [2/3]
[Combo Cannon Area - Aboard the Halberd]
Ashley : Come on! Something must've aboard the ship!
Penny Crygor : What the--?!
Kimial Diehl : Oh no! That thing again!?
[Red Falcon - Sota Fujimori]
Bendy : I've been looking forward to you see again, all up and running. Still going to believe what you're up against?
Kimial Diehl : Great! It's that demon again! The one that I was at in Tokyo! Bendy!
Bendy : So much for you that is not even a challenge that can handle the great Inky demon! Prepare to be squashed like tiny little bugs!
Ashley : Won't go down without a fight! You're ready for this, partner?
Kimial Diehl : Same to you! Looks like we gotta deal with this inky f**ker!
(the two battles against Bendy)
Kimial Diehl : Haven't I told you something before, you know what the secret ingredient to Black Blood real and why did you targeted against Maka?
Bendy : Do you think that is even necessary that I, the Ink Demon, has gave her that inky blackness to her and became her gifted powers to control it. Once that's become clear and completey soon as possible, she will end up becoming just like me! A demon with the raw powers of Inky Darkness!
Ashley : Typical. Just another way to foil one of Medusa's decisive plans. Can't say I wouldn't ending up becoming a demon made out of something like that! You know that Ink has been a weird substance for a kind of power like that, and I don't get a messy spot on my clothes!
Bendy : [chuckles] Do as you want to do with me! I have no better use than to putting the planet in danger with all my sight! I'm just getting things what I needed to be done! I can dish out any of you beings that would be a real treat to me! I'm gonna make it to the top when I'm done through with you!
Kimial Diehl : I betcha I won't be so lucky when I finally to know who you really are, Bendy! Let's cut to the chase and get it over with!
[during mid-battle]
Kimial Diehl : Man! This is one tough Bastard! Hope this is starting to get a little weary!
Ashley : This is the opportunity to strike this demon down! Focus on your magic! It's gonna be a little on the top!
Kimial Diehl : Alright!
??? : Hello!? Is someone there!? Oh thank goodness, some witches have been hearing my call!
Bendy : Quiet, you! This is my fight! Stay out of my lane!
??? : Please, you've got to get me out of here! This bastard made of ink has tricked me and now he wants me to destroy you!
Ashley : Hold the phone! That voice! That sounded like...[*DBZ SFX : Surprise] The Demon Sword Ragnarok! What the hell is going on here?!
Kimial Diehl : So that voice, It's Ragnarok, but what's it doing inside the demon?! Wait, is demon sword Ragnarok made of ink as well!? So then, this demon is really...
Ashley : Kimial, now's the time! Let's use the power of light and aim towards the demon!
Kimial Diehl : Got it! [uses light magic against the demon, attacking him directly]
[Demon roars]
Kimial Diehl : It worked!
Meta Knight : So the demon was made from Inky Darkness all along, but it's blood is apparently the ink within it's body! What kind of creature that is responsible for the outcome?
Ashley : And now to turn yourself back to what you really are! Demon begone! [uses her wand to cast a magic spell against the demon, causing him to revert to it's demon form] Hm? What?! Hey, this demon is going to revert it's true form! I wonder who could this really be?!
Meta Knight : Wait a sec, that kid with Demon Sword Ragnarok. It's...
[it is revealed that the ink demon is none other than Crona and Ragnarok]
Kimial Diehl : Crona!
Ashley : You mean the Kid of that heartless imposter!
[scene transits]
Sir Kibble : Unbelievable! How did a kid managed to infiltrate our ship?
Meta Knight : The analysis is complete. It turns out that this kid's black blood isn't black at all, it's bodily fluid is 100% made with ink. It's wisely that "Ink" is the secret ingredient for the black blood ability, it also makes a person unleashes it's insanity.
Sailor Waddle Dee : So what does this mean?
Meta Knight : It means someone has given Ink to create a bodily fluid to control both blood and Ink, and has been using it as an abilities such as hemokinesis and Ink manipulation. They are commonly more than meets the eye.
Blade Knight : So the kid named Crona is half human and half ink demon? What a shocking twist. Who knew it was ink that was inside the kid's body this entire time. His brain is still red or pink, but his organs are all black, made out of the ink! [shows X-rays of Crona's body parts except the heart and brain, that are all inky black] X-rays shows that Crona's brain is pink and red, his heart is red as well, but his organs are black as ever!
Sword Knight : What a remarkable display! This snakey witch was using Ink to create the bodily fluid that would engulf the planet in a spiraling world of thick inky darkness.
Blade Knight : We'll be a lucky son of a...

Sailor Waddle Dee : Captain! There's another unknown passenger that has aboarded on the ship, and it's bad news!
Meta Knight : Another intruder? [looks at the screen, showing the Heartless symbol] And it appears to be a "Heartless" at this point. What the hell is it doing something aboard the ship? Unless there's six unknown passengers that are aboard the ship. I wonder who could that be?
Axel : Hey, need a hand, smash fighter? It seems that you're not the only one that is able to handle some mystery solving problems. It's like they're playing some kind of TV Detective that knows how to crack the case.
Meta Knight : Hmm? Who are you? Ahh, I guess you're one of them members of an organization from Kingdom Hearts.
Ventus : Yes, and I am with him. It appears that we came from Square Enix to handle the truth about the world of Soul Eater.

Good day Author-san~ I just noticed in your stories, y/n never introduced herself as Mrs. Zsasz... Why is that?? 🤔
Since I'm back, I'm going to answer as many requests as I can, be it imagines, HC, or questions about Victor and all Gotham cast!
Tumblr media
Ah, I like this question.
Well basically for three main reasons I think.
>> First, because the whole married thing started with Victor's obsession. When he started his fixation on Y/N he wanted to bang her. Then, to date her. But it wasn't enough, even knowing they were exclusive, she's extremely independent, and Victor having a huge fear of being abandoned after his parents' sudden death, he wanted more.
That more being a way to always tied Y/N to him in a way: marriage. At first, she was like: LOL. No way buddy just get lost. But Victor isn't just muscles and guns, he worked for Falcone and knows one thing or two about the advantages of being married when you work in the underworld. So he preparared his arguments like a top of the class college student, ready to take his finals.
She wasn't happy to be honest, but agreed, first, to be his emergency contact under the 'Mrs Zsasz' name, only for GCPD if needed. Next, to wear false wedding bands with trackers inside of it. And after that, to officially signs the papers which will make her officially Mrs Zsasz.
>> Which brings us to our second point. Being Mrs Zsasz is good (maybe not? Probably not) if you're a civil and need to creep thugs going to rob or abduct you. But Y/N started her rogue carrer with her name and made a very good job making it sounds threatening enough to bring her contracts and being known all around the city. She worked hard to get out of the Narrows' mud by herself and was not going to change her name or correct people when they still call her by her last name.
Zsasz's name is a bonus, added to her own, it's enough to make most of the gangs and rogues pee in their pants. Like, she's the no2 assassin in town, she worked for Carmine Falcone for years, was respected by even Fish and Maroni before Oswald's debuts and was responsible of a few slaughters in the Narrows in her youth. With this, she gained the "Don't mess with me" title.
After her marriage, she also unlocked the - as Harvey likes to call it - "Zsasz trump card" title, making Victor immediately chase you if you dare messing with his wife. And we all know he's not the kind to stop or fail when he goes after someone. So yeah, good bonus.
Tumblr media
>> Finally, because she knows how it annoys Victor. Is it petty? Of course it is, but she can be as petty as a 5yo when it comes to him and ways to push his buttons. It also helps her to sometimes manipulate Victor in two ways.
Tumblr media
1) As she refuses to use it on a day to day basis, it plays on Victor's insecurities and keeps him on the edge, one of the things he loves about her, and maintains his obsession. Even married she doesn't see herself as his and it drives him crazy.
2) The very few times she calls herself her wife or calls him husband, Victor is 100% sure to melt like ice under the July's sun or, if he's mad, to soften him enough to guarantee her survival.
Don't get her wrong, she's deeply attached to him, even loves him in an absolute non-healthy way, but she also knows she has to keep a few tricks in store just in case he goes berserk. For Carmine's sake, Victor is a maniac, perfectly able to pull a bullet between her eyes the very second his obsession stops. So she feels as she has to feed it.

I hope my nonsense actually made sense and you liked it 😅 have a beautiful day and read you soon my dear, take care ♥️💐

Slow dancing! Slow dancing! \(*^o^*)/
Soooo this ended up being about Aymeric, and also 2.8k XD. Takes place right after the Falcon's Rest portion. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
"And you're sure you're still up for the ball later this week? You were poisoned," Aymeric asked.
"I think I can manage a ball after a sleeping draught, Aymeric," Rowan said. "Besides that, if we act as though we're afraid of every single act of opposition, then Ishgard will be bullied into a much poorer state than it started in."
"I just know how draining social engagements can be on you, especially after..." he trailed off when he saw her expression change. He shook his head. "I'll pick you up at the Fortemps manor at the agreed time, then."
*   *   *   *
Rowan couldn't get how concerned Aymeric was for her out of her head. Yes, social engagements were draining for her. They had been since she was old enough to attend them in any real capacity. But she was always able to shoulder that burden. She'd need to retire and recharge and reclaim herself, sure, but she could do it.
So why did it bother her that Aymeric wanted to shield her from that burden?
It was enough that she actually called her mother about it.
"You were never one to back down from a challenge, darling," Mama said when she reached the surface. "Even when it was at a great cost to yourself. You've been that way since you were young. Since you regained your ability to speak, honestly."
Rowan couldn't find any words to dispute that. That... sounded like her.
"It worried me to see you go into those hard things you felt obligated to do, whether or not you actually were obligated to do them," Mama continued. "But your Papa always saw the determination in your eyes. The way he saw it, twas always best to bolster you in the things you chose to do than to fret over how hard it would be on you. Obviously, he stopped you when he felt there was true danger..."
"And most of the time he'd offer aught else for me to do," Rowan said. "Like teaching me how to use a lance if he didn't want me in the Lancer's guild."
"Exactly. Just remember that not everyone can treat you like your Papa did. There are many ways to love, darling," Mama said. "Don't chase off Aymeric because of it."
Rowan sighed. "I'll try not to, Mama."
*   *   *   *
Despite moving the majority of her things back to the Rising Stones, there were a few odds and ends she kept in the Fortemps Manor. Well, it was just all of her formal wear. She hadn't worn anything that would pass as formal since she had her growth spurt. Not until she became a ward of House Fortemps. She had even forgone wearing a gown to the ill-fated banquet in Ul'dah, going for her most formal polished armor instead. Which actually served her well, thinking back on it.
Rowan looked between her gown that she bought with Haucherfant, and the suits she had made for other formal events she had to attend. She remembered the warnings that Lord Edmont had given her - that she was sending a message and possibly alienating herself more if she didn't conform to tradition. She would always have his support, of course, and he even hired the tailor to get them cut to her measurements.
But she wasn't attending this particular ball for her sake. She likely wouldn't ever attend a ball for her own sake if she was being honest... Rowan was going to support Aymeric and Ishgard's future. And sometimes, that meant conforming to tradition. She called for the maidservant to help get into the gown properly.
She decided it was all worth it when a genuine smile broke out on Aymeric's face. She smiled and gave a curtsy before taking his arm.
"I do hope I get to express the dragon's share of compliments tonight," he said. "Because you look ravishing in that dress tonight."
"Ha. Most of House Fortemps have seen me in this dress, so they know to scoop their jaws off the floor. And I suspect that the other houses are trying to court your favor more than mine tonight," Rowan said.
"They might find that courting your favor would have a better effect."
Rowan gave a groan at that. Aymeric patted her hand.
"I can easily whisk you away at your first sign of distress, Rowan. Just say the word and we'll rush to the dance floor."
She sighed, trying to order her conflicted thoughts on that. She gave into the idea of him comforting her. "Promise?"
"Upon my office in the House of Lords."
*   *   *   *
Talking to the various lords and ladies at the ball was about as terrible as Rowan had expected it. That is to say, she was able to keep her foot out of her mouth but it was exhausting to do so. Aymeric would usually catch on to her fading fairly quickly and deftly move the conversation so they could conclude and move on. Or, at the very least, give her hand a squeeze as various lords droned on about this land claim or that order of knights.
Eventually the musicians started to warm up their instruments and actual dancing was to begin in earnest.
"Ready to open the dance floor for everyone?" Aymeric asked as he lead Rowan to said dance floor.
She sighed. "Right. You're head of the House of Lords; you get that - ah - 'privilege'."
"Mayhap one day you'll see it as one," Aymeric said, lifting her arm into position.
Rowan caught her breath as if to reply, but found that she didn't have one at the ready. Before she could say aught, Aymeric nodded to the maestro and started to lead her in the waltz. It was at a steady tempo and she found herself enjoying the smooth movements of the dance. Down, up, up. Down, up, up. Aymeric lead her around in large circles across the entirety of the floor. He held his proper tension and Rowan could always feel his intention without him ever saying aught of it aloud.
It was about all she could ask for in a partner. A dance partner, that is. Well - Rowan felt a genuine smile come across her face as Aymeric spun her - she had to admit that there was a lot of overlap between a welcome dance partner and a welcome romantic partner.
Aymeric finished the waltz with a dip and the look in his eyes made Rowan's heart flutter. There was applause - hopefully more for the band's expert playing - and other couples started to fill the dance floor.
"I think we may be afforded one more dance together before others can cut in," Aymeric said.
"Gods, I sure hope so," Rowan said.
If Rowan wasn't as persistently aware of all around her at all times she would have said this second dance was just as special and intimate as the first. Alas, the crowd with their sounds and heat and presence rubbed at her patience. Still, having Aymeric as her partner made it all worthwhile.
He was right, of course, about having only one dance before others felt it was appropriate to ask for their time. At least it was Artoriel who asked first, and not some one trying to curry favor with the Prime Minister of the House of Lords or the Warrior of Light.
"Does it get easier to attend balls as you go to more of them?" she asked as Aymeric whisked away a forward thinking lady.
"Some of the politics are easier to navigate if you get familiar with them," Artoriel mused. "Of course, if you get more familiar with the politics you also get more involved with them and lines get drawn then."
Rowan sighed. "No neutral parties in Ishgardian politics then?"
"No, I'm afraid not," Artoriel said. "Aymeric is one of the better men in all of Ishgard, so I wouldn't fear about getting on the wrong side of politics by being with him."
Rowan was caught trying to make a reply to her dance partner again that night. She could only sigh and shake her head as she was given an emphatic push to be spun.
Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. Aymeric would always come to rescue her after a few too many strangers wanted her attention and they would dance at least one dance together before he parted with her again. She wished she could be left in a corner and read for a while, but being Aymeric's date for the night placed a target on her. If she sat, she'd have to lend her ear to a number of people. And if she wanted to dance, she'd only get a few turns with someone familiar before a stranger decided it was all well and good to have their first conversation be one where they were literally holding her close.
Rowan had to bite her tongue as an older gentleman came and took a chair next to her. She was tired enough that she needed to rest her feet from dancing, but the timber of his voice grated against her ears that she considered finding Artoriel for another dance to escape it. The man didn't have very long to ramble before Aymeric strode up and took her hand.
"Weren't you dancing with someone else just now?" Rowan asked after Aymeric quickly dismissed the man.
"I was. But I glanced over to where you were and saw how miserable you looked. Laniaitte insisted I come save you when she saw," he said. "We should get you back to the Fortemps Manor."
"Oh, no, it's not that bad. I just need to be left alone for a while, that's all."
"I insist. You were poisoned earlier this week, after all." Aymeric's eyes gave Rowan a look she couldn't refuse.
Rowan sighed. "At least let me apologize to the host. Else my mother would never let me hear the end of it."
Their host was gracious and gave the two of them well wishes as they snuck through the back door, surprising a number of servants. Aymeric gave them all a smile and thanked them for their service while Rowan tried her best to not appear cross at them.
Finally, they exited the estate and found themselves on a well light street. Even bundled in her coat, Rowan felt the instant relief of the bracing Ishgardian night.
"And now I regret not taking a carriage," Aymeric sighed. "Lucia will kill me herself if we get accosted by anyone in the streets."
"Ishgard has a working aethernet, doesn't it?" Rowan asked, a little bemused.
Aymeric pinched his nose. "Why, yes, of course it does. There's one right there, isn't there?"
They shared a small laugh together as they walked across the street to the closest shard. With a woosh and a whistle, they were at the Last Vigil, and only a few yalms away from the Fortemps' home. Aymeric was ready to take her to the door, but Rowan lead him to the small outdoor sitting area next to the manor.
"I'm not ready to say good night yet, Aymeric," Rowan said.
He nodded and sat next to her. They sat in silence for a while, admiring the stars above the Holy See. It was nice to not have to speak, even if her speaking partner was someone she liked.
"We should get you inside before you catch a chill," Aymeric said after a few extra moments. "We can't have you getting ill."
She took his offered hand. "I suppose not. Thank you for sitting out with me."
"My pleasure. I needed the time to unwind myself. And you always have a calming presence. One I am ever grateful to be in."
Rowan hummed and looked away bashfully. If her cheeks weren't flushed from the night, they were now. She found the key in her skirt pocket and turned back to him.
"Despite my need to escape the ball early, I am glad that I was with you," Rowan said.
"I feel the same way. Mayhap when you are more hale we'll enjoy the next one together as well," Aymeric said.
Rowan gave a weary small nod to that. The thought of another ball at this moment was enough to make her feel ill.
"Ah, I shan't keep you out any longer. Good night."
"Good night."
Aymeric took her free hand and kissed it, a smile in his eyes. Rowan was definitely blushing then and struggled to keep her mouth closed until he turned and left. After fumbling with the key a few times, she finally got through the door. She locked it behind her and pressed up flat against it. She had to give a silent scream of sorts before she could peel herself off and go to her chambers.
Even after undressing, she found herself too wound up from the night and the kiss to even consider sleeping. She wandered into the kitchen to find Edmont with a mug of cocoa, chatting to one of the staff.
"Lord Edmont? Shouldn't you still be at the party?" Rowan asked.
"My leg started acting up and Artoriel bade me to return home before it got too bad," the former count said. "I felt it right to reward my responsible son by following his wishes. But I could ask the same of you. Shouldn't you and Aymeric still be at the ball?"
"Similar to you and your son, Aymeric saw fit to take me home before I faded entirely." She took a chair next to him, and thanked the maid who gave her a mug of the same drink.
"Tis a good sign for his fitness in leadership - being able to see the problems of the one without disrupting the needs or wishes of the rest," Edmont mused.
Rowan nodded, swirling her cocoa. "I just wish that I wasn't the one with the problems."
He gave her a sigh of exasperation. "None of us do, child. But problems can and do arise. Even with the strongest of all of us. Even in you."
She nodded and took another sip of cocoa. "I also don't want him to have to chose between me and Ishgard every time a need of mine arises."
"What do you mean by that?" Edmont asked. "Politicians have wives. Wives they take care of and cherish."
Rowan turned to watch a candle flame. "Ishgard needs him, Edmont. So many people at the ball vied for his attention. Some where just sycophants as far as I could tell, but there were others who really needed to express to him their problems and issues. And... I would get tired of listening to them both. You can't tell them apart until you listen to them, so you have to listen to them all."
Edmont leaned back in his chair and Rowan could feel him plan his next words carefully. "Are you certain you cannot learn to tolerate it? Even for Aymeric's sake?"
Rowan sighed. "I couldn't ever learn to tolerate it for my mother's sake. And the parties she had me attend as a youth were smaller and far less noisy."
"He could, of course, retire from politics once Ishgard is stable," he said. "And you two would be free to live an adventurer's life together."
"I... I don't know if I want him to. Part of why I admire him is his dedication to this place."
Edmont's brow furrowed in thought. "You two haven't made anything official, as I can recall. A gentleman may take a lady to a ball or two without declaring any sort of intentions with her past friendship."
Rowan nodded, keeping Aymeric's kiss on her hand to herself for the moment.
"And while I am fond of the idea of you two being together, I am more fond of the idea of the two of you being happy," he said. "It may serve the two of you to avoid courting any farther than this."
The words stung Rowan like a vilekin's bite. She just stared into the light brown of her drink as her tired mind tried to pull itself together.
Edmont sighed. "You shouldn't make any decision right now, tired as you are. Believe you me, it's brought me more troubles than not to make a decision before the morrow. But pray give it some thought. I don't want you resenting Aymeric for doing what he loves, for doing what  you admire him for doing."
"Thank you," Rowan said quietly. "I'll keep that in mind."
"Pray get some rest if you can. I'll be here in the morning, and if you have choice words for me then, I'll be more than willing to hear them."
She nodded again and took her mug of cocoa to her room. She was so tired, but her mind was buzzing. Aymeric had intent with that kiss, as chaste as a kiss on the hand is. But she didn't know if she had it in her to attend more balls.
But she didn't know if she had it in her to refuse him, either.

Oh this is cool! Thanks for adding me @piece-of-hweat this should be fun. 1. How many works do you have on Ao3? / 2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
I have a total of 3 works if we go by AO3. Before AO3 I wrote on fanfic dot net but i never posted it to AO3. In total word count I have 129,248! 3. What fandoms do you write for? My main fandom is Little Nightmares. Probably will be for the foreseeable future but its not where I started. Little Nightmares Moon Knight Miraculous Ladybug My Hero Academia 4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? This I will not say. Mostly because I am very shy I guess about my work. I just don't like advertising it, err that's not what I should call it. But basically if someone finds my work and likes it then that's good enough for me. I don't really mention any of my stories at all anywhere. 5. Do you respond to comments? After a couple days, I have anxiety problems. I see the notification, I just can't bring myself to read them and even when I do get to them it's hard for me to read them. But I do try to respond when I can. 6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? / 7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? N/A because I've never finished one sob
8. Do you get hate on fics? About my story? No. I did get some in the beginning when I first joined AO3 because I didn't know how the site worked, as dumb as that is. All my chapters were a wall of texts with no spacing. About format, yes. My story as a whole, no.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No, the genre's I stick to is mainly associated with either revenge, adventure, angst. Yeah that's pretty much it. I love adventure! It's either revenge or adventure. 10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? Ok so it was the My Hero Academia one. I won't elaborate but it was basically My Hero x Dexter's Lab. 11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Nah, I'm not that well known or good. 12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope. 13. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase- while I do not write for the fandom of Percy Jackson I read a great deal from there. No shade to anyone in the fandoms I write for. Like Six and Mono for example, now I'm am not in the Six is evil camp, I'm not. But she dropped Mono, and the fics that write events that follow, that if Mono somehow escapes. I still read them, I still love them, but in my mind there is no recovering or saving from that. So I won't write that. I did read a story where Mono escaped, they worked together, the story ended, and they parted ways. I LOVED THAT. Listen if a pairing is not logically possible, I will not write it. Is why I love the way Percy Jackson did it. 14. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Moon Knight and Miraculous Ladybug crossover. I promise you one day I will return. Part of the greater MCU, but basically if every civilization had a miracle box associated with them. Like Egypt. And Marvel has a plethora of different types of gods, they all work differently, but it was essentially a "What if Khonshu raised a Kwami as his son" A Kwami that was not bound to a miraculous, that was made in his image. So the Kwami had a falcon head like his father. Adrien died to an Akuma. Khonshu already has his own two fists. So he would become the Fist of his Son. There was going to be other Kwami's of Destruction like Plagg, or more of Creation, because each Planet in the MCU would have Kwami's, like from Xandar. Because each civilization has a different perspective of these abstract ideas. Say a planet covered in water, How would a Kwami of Destruction work there? One day. 15. What are your writing strengths? / 16. What are your writing weaknesses?
I've been told I am very great at writing suspense by a reader, they were very nice!
Weakness? I have none/j . But seriously, I suck at character description, but I have a helper for that now, thank the lord. 17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Maybe one day? 18. First fandom you wrote for?
My Hero 19. Favorite fic you've written?
My Little Nightmares fic that makes up the bulk of my word count. About 120,000 words so literally 95% or more of my total lol. I can literally not find the 20th question guys. I am not proficient in tumblr my amigos. I guess I have to make some sacrifices to the great thread now right? I shall pick from my mutuals that I know write!!! @paodocinh, @queen0fm0nsterz, @avimaka, each one of them has written stellar stories that I enjoy reading, so grade A thread sacrifices. No need to do this if you don't want to. Just writing this was mega fun for me. I must now go back to over analyzing LORE for Little Nightmares!!!!!!!!!! Also I've said this once already, I don't know tumblr that well, I am assuming this is gonna post correctly, if not I will go to sleep in shame.
20 Q's for Fic Writers
I got tagged by @dp-marvel94! Thank you!
1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
I've just posted my 22nd work a few days ago!
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
37,763
3. What fandoms do you write for?
So far, all my published fics are for Danny Phantom. It's a fandom that's near and dear to my heart and my favorite to write for. I've written fanfiction for myself in a lot of different fandoms over the years. Miraculous Ladybug, Mega Man (Star Force, Battle Network) and Fire Emblem are a few. (Will these ever see the light of day? Probs not, lol)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?  5. Frayed Ends - 37 kudos - Jazz and Maddie are fighting more often. Jack wants to reach out and help his family. 4. The Same Blood - 45 kudos - Maddie and Jack try to help a sick girl that collapsed in front of their house. They don't know what to make of her condition. Danny wants to help.
3. Returned Home - 49 kudos - Maddie finds Danny at home after he disappeared ten months ago.
2. The Broken Pieces Left Behind - 66 kudos (tie) - Maddie knew what the portal did to Danny. If she could create something that essentially turned him into a ghost, she could figure out a way to fix all of it. Even if she hasn't made any progress in the past two months, she'll keep trying. She didn't account for what Danny wanted. 1 . What's Out of Out Control - 66 kudos (tie) - Danny thought he had it under control. He thought he could finally hang out like they used to always do. Tucker could feel the rift between them widening. It wasn't getting smaller anytime soon.
5. Do you respond to comments?
I try to! There were a few comments from my two earlier fics that I never responded to and it's already been so long and I feel like I ended up putting it off too long to say anything now 😓But I'm so so thankful for all the comments I receive! I never thought anyone would read my work, let alone comment on it. I'm always between two modes of 'author commentary' and 'screaming thank you and running away'.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Lol, I love my angsty stuff and there are so many different flavors of angst, so it's hard to pick just one. I'd say the piece I aimed to write for Angst Fest, The Broken Pieces Left Behind, might be it. It ends on a rather hopeless note for the Fenton family that even I don't know how to make everything better for them
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably Home for a Cat. It was for a Ectoberhaunt prompt that I was absolutely stumped on. So I decided someone was going to adopt a cat by the end of the fic.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Ahh, so I actually posted a fic on FFN wayyy back when I was in high school. I remember it being received pretty well but I got a really rude comment on a simple spelling mistake. Back then, I was just told I had dyslexia a few years prior and I had some really bad self-esteem issues tied in with that. So, yeah, that comment basically made me terrified to ever show my work to anyone ever.
It's been over ten years since then and I wanted to actually get over that fear. I impulsively decided to do Angst Fest with the mindset that no one would even look at what I posted. Not only did people look, everyone has been so kind!!!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
lkdajldkf, nope. I get flustered trying to write basic romance and having two characters hold hands, lmao. Major props to those that can, it's definitely a skill that takes time to master just like any other genre.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I haven't.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Also haven't had this either.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope, but it seems like a lot of fun.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Back when the show was airing, Amethyst Ocean (Danny/Sam) was my go to. I'm a sucker for friends to lovers tropes and it's really nostalgic for me. But, I don't really read a lot of shippy things for Danny Phantom, so ships don't make or break a fic for me.
If I'm looking to read romance, the whole Love Square (MariChat my beloved) with Miraculous Ladybug will always be great. Even if I jumped ship on the show around season 2 or 3 and I have no clue what they're doing now, lol.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I honestly have so many WIPs that are unfinished on my computer from over the years. Maybe a super old one that I titled 'Phantoms in the Daylight'. Angst once more with Character Death as the main pain point. I like the beginning but oh boy, does it get sloppy and confusing real quick. I'd need serious outlining energy put into it if I'd ever want to salvage it and I just don't have it in me.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue! Give me two blorbos and I'll make them talk forever.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Scenery and description. I love the dialogue portion so much that I end up running into the floating heads in an empty room problem in the first drafts of my fics. My first round of edits are dedicated to making sure I have a scene and grounding characters into it. And then I have to go back later to make it not feel so robotic sounding.
(Also a weakness but more as in fic than writing. Summaries and Titles. I stare at my drafts on AO3's editor for at least half an hour trying to pull something together, lol)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I can probably talk about this for hours, lol. I absolutely love foreign languages, especially when it comes to linguistics. So, I'll try to be brief, lmao. Short answer: depends on the fic but normally no. I already spend so much time fussing over the word choice/slang/formality/dialect characters use in my native language. I don't have a good enough grasp on another language for it to sound natural to the reader. ("They would not fucking say that" is my internal monologue during dialogue edits, lol)
19. First fandom you wrote for?
It's a toss up between Pokemon and Danny Phantom. I first learned about fanfiction from a friend who showed me FFN for the Pokemon fics. I looked around the site and found all of the Danny Phantom fics soon after and got hooked on those. I started writing around then and it would have been for one of those two.
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Hard to chose one! Writing technicality wise, I'm proud of how What Remains on the Table turned out. I consider description my weak point, so the original draft was 0 dialogue with very stiff descriptions. I was able to edit it to really practice my environmental storytelling. (Although, please mind the tags if you click the link as it does deal with the dissection topic)
I'm not sure who's been tagged and I'm not sure who writes fanfic, so @lavendarlily, @fangirlwriting-stories, @grub-xd, @nanaarchy and anyone else that wants to join!

Bucky Barnes x Autistic Teen Daughter
Tumblr media
Summary:
Inspired by the ending of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and also a continuation of Type of Love (you dont need to read it to understand this though). Bucky is a good dad pretty much
Word count: 1,091
Note: Not every autistic person experiences autism the same. I'm autistic and I am writing from my perspective of how I personally experience autism, but not everyone feels the same as me or has the same perspective as I do.
- the reader is adopted, they are not biologically related. I want my writing to be inclusive to everyone, which is why i am specifying this incase it isn't directly said in the fic
.oOo.
I hold onto my dad's metal arm tightly as I follow him out to the dock, his other hand holding a store bought cake. There's a feeling of vibrant energy coming off of everyone, which does make me relax a little.
Although the fight is far from over, Sam, Bucky, and pretty much everyone are just glad to have a break for a bit. Bucky has been noticeably more relaxed, relived that at least part of the fight is done with.
I've been anxious about this get together since I first heard about it, even though I know I have my dad with me and he wouldn't let anything happen to me. I mean, he's barely left my side since getting back anyways, I think he just needs the reassurance of having me around as much as I need him.
"If you want to leave that's perfectly fine, just let me know before you head back inside so I know where you are, yeah?" Bucky looks down at me as we walk along the dock. I give him a nervous smile and nod.
As we start nearing where all of the others are gathered, Sam's nephews run up to Bucky and start play fighting with him. I let go of his arm and step back, laughing at the scene unfolding before me. I chase after them and grab the cake from Bucky while laughing, not wanting him to drop it.
I shake my head and giggle at Bucky as he pushes his way to the front and runs ahead of the boys. I follow, but choose to walk instead so I don't drop the cake. The boys run off somewhere else as Bucky waits for me to catch up.
He takes the cake from me and sets it on one of the tables as I stay a step behind him, not wanting to bring attention to myself. A couple kids come running to the table at the sight of the cake and Bucky laughs before stepping back.
He wraps an arm over my shoulder and I lean into his side. "Burger or hot dog?" My head snaps up as I hear a voice, which came from a man, holding a spatula and wearing an apron. Bucky smiles and looks down at me, I hold up the number two and his gaze goes back to the man. "Two hotdogs please."
The man nods and leaves to get the food from the grill. I can tell just by the tone of his voice that Bucky is relaxed and happy. It's rare to see him like that anywhere besides our apartment or when we're in private. He has an almost calming effect on me and I slowly feel my nerves easing as well.
Bucky thanks the man and grabs both of our hotdogs for us, I keep my head down but still give a shy smile in thanks. I follow Bucky as he goes to one of the tables, and sits down. The table is empty aside from the two of us and is the furtherest away from where the cake is, wanting to avoid the loud children since loud noises always bother me.
As I put my hand down on the bench to sit down, I freeze and stand up. I've always hated how these wooden benches feel, they're a sensory nightmare for me, and of course I wore shorts today.
Before I can say anything Bucky scoots down closer to me at the end of the table and gently pulls me into his lap. I wasn't really expecting that, and the shock sent me into a fit of laughter for a moment as I hold onto the table, thinking I might fall.
He shifts me on his lap so it's more comfortable. I'm sitting on his lap sideways, trapped between Bucky and the table. The feeling of his soft jeans are much better than the scratchy wooden bench.
Bucky launches into a conversation with me, going on about something that happened with Sam. He knows that I'm most likely nonverbal right now, I am around most people that I am not close to, and even some that I am, like Sarah for example. It's nothing against the people, talking is just hard sometimes.
.oOo
I smile as I watch the kids hang onto Bucky's metal arm. Bucky somehow turned into the kids jungle gym, but he doesn't seem to mind. He just stands there, acting like it's no big deal that he's holding two children with one arm.
I spot Sam a little ways away from everyone, staring out into the ocean. I glance back at my dad and catch his eye, pointing over to where Sam is to let him know where I'm going. He nods discretely and so I wander off from the group.
I slowly walk up next to sam on the dock. He looks down at me once he notices me and smiles. "Hey, you having a good time?" I nod in response, smiling back. We both look back into the ocean, admiring the pink and orange sky from the setting sun.
He wraps his arm around my shoulder and I lean into his side, both of us keeping our eyes on the view but appreciating the gesture. I can tell that Sam has a lot on his mind and he just needs this moment. We stand in comfortable silence, aside from the water in the ocean and the faint sounds of talking from the others.
I look over when I feel another body join my other side. I look up to be met with my dad, smiling down at me. I wrap my other arm around his waist, which makes him smile even wider. As he leans into me he hits Sam on the shoulder and pushes him away.
"Alright, can I have my daughter back now?" I'm thrown into a fit of laughter as Bucky gently pulls me into him. "Hey, now you see why I like your daughter more than you, cyborg." Sam snarks back playfully. They both laugh before dropping the act, deciding to leave the banter for another time, not wanting to ruin the moment.
Bucky pulls away and I wrap my arms around one of his and follow him as he walks off. He nudges Sam's shoulder on the way and Sam follows us with a smile after taking one last glance out at the ocean. We all walk back to the others, gentle and content smiles on all of our faces.

Poe Dameron is Always Right
Pretty frequently in the sequel Trilogy of Star Wars we see that he is framed as being the one that's in the wrong or at least the one who's always argued about being in the wrong a by other characters.
But when you actually examine what's going on you can kind of see that for the most part he's normally right about things. Let me explain.
In the force awakens we don't really see enough of his character to really establish this character trait. We see enough to know he's a very confident commander and an even more confident pilot. He is a magician behind the stick of an X-Wing and in fact most ships you can pilot
In the last jedi, we start to see that him being wrong is very much an informed trait. Those bombers that got destroyed in the start of the movie? They had already set up their attack. Turning back probably would have caused all of them to be destroyed anyway without them actually doing anything to the enemy. He made a Command Decision and not only was it the right tactical decision but given that it gave them one less massive Star Destroyer to worry about in the upcoming Chase sequence of the movie he was also Vindicated on a strategic level.
But the movie framesman is being wrong. He's demoted from Commander to Captain (which is bullshit because captain is a higher naval rank and commander doesn't exist as a rank in a branch where he'd have been promoted to general but Star Wars is bad at military ranks ik ik) by Leia for pressing the attack. But the only way he's in the wrong here isn't because it was the wrong tactical or strategic decision. It wasn't. It was because of insubordination which is kind of fair
The next we see him clash with authority is with vice admiral holdo and she opens up hostilities like a turbo laser. The first thing he does is ask for Direction on what they're doing next because even if he is just a captain he is still one of the senior officers on board and that is a very fair thing to ask the now acting Commander of the fleet that's being torn apart. So she tells him to just follow orders which he just asked for and didn't get
The movie frames him is being a hot head and just wanting to fight. But that's not really how it's framed for most of the movie. Because strategically and tactically he was right to press the attack against the dreadnaught. And he only expresses his need to engage the enemy and fight when he sees that they are refueling the transports which is a very dumb character decision tbh. Like obviously there's no way they could fight against the ships chasing them at that point and the first time he's actually wrong in the movie it feels like a forced wrongness rather than an informed rockness. Him being wrong never feels both natural and accurate
Then we come to the rise of Skywalker where the real fun begins. I just rolled my eyes by the way. Because we see him open up with hyperspace skipping which is bad for the falcon, which makes sense because it's an older ship and I have no idea how it's still active at this point other than faith and duct tape, and he immediately gets lambasted by the main character. But he was still right to do it because those were hyperspace capable Tie fighters which is kind of a typical. So he gets points for being right or being prepared for a hyperspace Pursuit after what happened last movie when the basic premise of his side of it was being pursued through hyperspace
And then you have him leading the resistance fleet to exogol for final stand against a new empire. This was after Rey decided to just rush headfirst into a problem she had no idea how to handle (standard Star Wars mc flaw, not an indictment of her character to be fair). And honestly? He didn't really have much of a choice because there was almost no better opportunity because the opportunities to do this were only getting worse
All this to say. Very rarely is p
Poe Dameron in the wrong. He might be annoying about it sometimes. But Poe is almost always right on a strategic or tactical level but he only ever gets black or push back on it.
Anyways stan Poe Dameron

Afterglow (A Bucky Barnes AU fan fiction) - Chapter 13
Tumblr media
Afterglow chapters
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader
A/N: Future you, r u okkkk
CHAPTER THIRTEEN
You stared at Bucky and the gentleman who was with him named Sam Wilson, completely dumbfounded; as if they both had three heads. They were seated across from you, Bucky with a glass of water, and Sam with a bottle of beer in his hand. Sam was just finishing his beer, as well as his speech about his business proposal which had to do with you taking photos of his new products, and models.
Bucky introduced Sam as a long-time friend and an owner of a sporting fit apparel named The Falcons. The name did ring a bell as soon as you heard it. You suddenly remembered passing through it while you and Bucky were strolling down Fifth Street, vaguely telling you about a friend who owned it and six other stores scattered in California, Chicago, London, and Australia (and was planning to branch out more in Asian countries); and here he was right in front of you, hiring you as a photographer for his big-time business.
Sam didn't give you a sliver of time to intervene with his flawless little speech he had committed to memory, as he spoke so fast. Some words were even incomprehensible to you — or perhaps it was just because the world was still whirling around you, given the prior event that just took place.
And now this.
You tried to give Bucky some kind of signal by giving him a look but he encouraged Sam further and urged you to listen to his proposal.
"So, y/n..." Sam rested his hands on the wooden table, his attention solely focused on you. "What do you think?"
If only you could tell him the truth that your mind was completely blank, you would. But you didn't want to embarrass yourself or Bucky for that matter, so you just gave him a smile and did the first thing you could think of. "Mr. Wilson — "
"Oh, you can just call me Sam. There's no need for formalities."
You nodded. "Sam... Do you mind if I have a little discussion with Bucky? It will just take a moment."
Sam leaned back on the cushioned couch of the booth and nodded. "Of course. Take all the time you need."
You didn't give Bucky the time to question why so you immediately stood up, grabbed Bucky's hand from across the booth and dragged his body towards one of the closets the bar rarely used. You closed the door behind you, and switched the light on. Even with the small lightbulb hanging from the ceiling, the inside of the closet still looked dingy, and the dust crawling on the walls and flying in the tight air space were clearly evident.
"Bucky, what the hell is going on?"
"Isn't it great?"
You smacked his arm. "Steve just told me he's getting me fired so that I can focus on my career as a photographer."
"That's even greater!"
You smacked his arm harder this time. "I'm not done." You hissed. "He's giving me one week to figure things out and then I'm fired. If I don't have shit figured out in that one week, I'm not gonna be able to pay for bills. Did you say something to Steve when you came here this morning? Don't lie to me, James."
He was rubbing his arm, brows furrowed. "I told him nothing."
"You showed him the photos I took last night. What was that all about?"
He sighed in defeat. "I just made him realize that you needed to be out there and not stuck here. You said it yourself, y/n, you're stuck in a rut and the only way to get yourself moving is to break from that routine. To go out there and explore the world."
"And then you just swoop in and bring your friend?"
"Yes."
"So, Steve just happens to realize that I needed to go out there and explore the world, and then it just so happens that your friend needs someone to photograph for his business?" You scoffed. "Bucky, do you expect me to believe that this is just one big coincidence? That you're not the one pulling all the strings in this little weird puppet show?"
"Yes, okay, I may have done something about those, said something, but — "
"Oh my god, you can't do that." You had the urge to get some air, and to pace back and forth as you tried to put your thoughts into words, but the space felt tighter the more you spoke. "You can't just walk into people's lives and, and... control everything! This is not just about chasing a dream, this is also about survival. I'm not rich like you. I don't have a safety net when things fall apart. You... You can't put all your trust in me."
"Well, someone needs to." Bucky sternly answered. "And if that someone should be me then so be it."
"I don't even know why you're going to great lengths for me." You looked down on the floor. "I... I don't get it, Bucky. I don't get you at all."
"Hey, hey, hey, listen to me, doll." His hands made contact with your skin, lifting your face to look at his blue eyes. "I apologize for taking things too far, I guess I could act so rash as well but I just wanted to do what I know is right and what would make you happy. Seeing you last night was... heartbreaking."
"So, you pity me." You sighed. "Everybody does."
"Call it what you want, y/n. But people who pity you won't ever believe in you and in what you do. But here I am putting all my trust in you. Your boss Steve does too. And Sam." A smile formed on his lips, making the insides of you flip.
"Your friend Sam sounds like a big deal and he hasn't even seen my photos. How can he trust me to do all this for him?"
"I put my word in for you. I told him if I was wrong, then to hell with me. And if you're worried about people assisting you during the shoot, don't. Sam has people all over and he just needs your beautiful eyes and hands and brain." He laughed. "Sam's a good guy and you're not going to be working for some big corporation. I know you hate those. This is perfect for you, trust me. And right now, all I need you to do is say yes to Sam, say yes to me, and most especially say yes to yourself. Please?"
The atmosphere became lighter, and the room didn't feel that tight any longer. His flattering words forever engraved in your mind. His warm hands stayed on both sides of your face, his face pleading.
You sighed and nodded your head slowly, finally convinced. "Okay, yes."
A grin started to crawl to his face and for a moment, his face drew closer to yours. "Okay, good. Now let's get out of here and tell Sam the good news."
You nodded but a touch of disappointment came, as Bucky's hands left your face. You never knew the presence of Bucky's skin against yours was one thing you could miss. You didn't even know if you should.
As soon as you sat down, you told Sam the good news and quickly ordered a bottle of champagne. You were supposed to get it for them but Bucky told you to sit down and let loose for a while, so you did.
Nat approached the booth with the cold champagne, and some glasses. She bent down and whispered to you, "You better tell me what's going on here. I wanna hear everything."
Sure, she did. Nat always wanted to. When it comes to water cooler gossip or any kind of gossip for that matter, Nat always wanted to dig her nose into other people's stuff. With a wink and a slight sway on the hips, she retreated to the counter and took more of people's orders. Beside her, you noticed Nick steal a glance in your direction but was averted away by people trying to get their drinks.
"Alright, let's toast." Sam declared. Bucky was just finishing filling yours when you focused your attention back at the two gentlemen in front of you. You thanked Bucky and mirrored Sam as he raised his glass. Bucky followed, his eyes with a luster glaze on you. "To new partners, beginnings, and to y/n."
"Thank you, Sam." You laughed, clinking your glasses. "And to Bucky, for trusting me enough to do this."
"To Bucky who wouldn't leave me alone until I said yes." Sam replied, emptying his glass.
You gave Bucky a look and shook your head. Being the cheeky man he was, the ends of his lips curved slightly which triggered the beat of your heart. The sudden changes you have been feeling when it came to Bucky have been scaring you but it wasn't a "bad scary"; it was the kind that excited everything inside you. A thrilling feeling that left you wanting more.
At the taste of the sprinkling cold champagne, for a moment, you were brought back to last night's events. A montage-like of red, blue and white lights illuminating the street, Howard waiting in the limousine, Wandavision, and then Bucky. After that, it was just Bucky's presence beside you and as you looked back at him, all you could think about was his soft warm lips pressed on your forehead. The entirety of it felt like you were living a dream — there were parts you couldn't remember and parts that you could, and the latter were just the ones you kept replaying in mind (even with Bucky in front of you), trying to imbue this dream-like memory and convince yourself that it was a memory.
Nat's voice pulled you out of your thoughts (and boy, were you thankful for it). "Hey, your shift's almost ending." She reminded you, passing by the booth, then turned to face Bucky and Sam. "Anything you want from the menu, boys?"
"No, thank you." Bucky replied then turned to you. "We should also be heading up."
"Oh." Nat's change in voice was so evident that you wanted to pull her out of here as soon as possible. "You guys are heading up, huh?" She teased, her eyes now on you.
"It's not what you think." You said. "He's just looking after me. Parker's gone to some corporate retreat for a week."
"Man, you're a babysitter!" Sam butted in, punching Bucky's arm lightly. "Oh, I can't believe this."
"No, I'm not."
"You can't even take care of your damn self, how are you gonna take care of her?"
"Shut up, Sam!"
"He's actually taking good care of me." You said, looking at Bucky.
"I'm sure he is." Nat chuckled which made you step on her foot. She cleared her throat in response.
"Anyway, I gotta go say goodbye to Steve." You said, standing up. "Hey Nat, do you want me to say hi to him for you?"
With her mouth slightly open, and eyes furrowed, she replied very slowly. "No."
You smirked. "Okay then."
You headed towards Steve's office, leaving Nat stunned in her place. Steve's office was slightly open so you didn't bother knocking and just went inside. "Hey, Steve. I'm off for tonight."
"Sure." He replied. "Hey, about earlier."
"What about it?"
"I'm doing it because I truly believe in you." He smiled. "And your new friend Bucky does so too."
You smiled at him right back. "Yes, Steve. Thank you."
"Take care, y/n."
"You too, boss!"
And with that, you headed towards the booth where Bucky and Sam were.
Out on the side of the street, the three of you parted ways, Sam hailing a cab and you and Bucky heading towards the apartment building. Once the elevator doors opened, you stepped inside and was greeted by its metallic smell.
"Hey, Bucky?" You said, quickly grabbing his attention. "T-thank you for this and for basically everything you've done for me for the past few days."
"Please, you don't have to thank me for this. I'm just really glad I'll be able to help you."
"And I promise once I get my shit done, have money and everything, I'm gonna pay you back — "
"Hey, hey, hey." He cut you off. "Who said anything about paying me back? You don't have to do that, okay?"
"But I feel like this is all too much, like, there's this thing tying me to you."
"Is that a bad thing?" He asked.
"When it comes to money, yeah kinda. And you've bought me all kinds of stuff — "
"Y/n, just..." He sighed. "You don't have to do or say anything. You don't have to worry about paying me back and even if you will, I won't ever ever accept it. Can we leave it at that?"
You sighed in response, the little ding! right on time. "Yeah, okay."
By the time you got in the apartment, you practically ran towards your room because of how exhausted you were but before you could even open the door, there was one more thing you needed to do.
"Bucky?"
“Yes?”
"I-I'm sorry again about last night and no," he was about to do his face whenever he cuts you off, "please, don't cut me off, let me finish."
Bucky walked towards you, his back facing Peter's room.
"This is about what I said... when I asked you to, uh, kiss me. You were right to stop me. I was drunk, sad and vulnerable and the moment wasn't right. It wasn't right. I would have regretted it the next day and would be so ashamed to face you. I might actually avoid you for a month." You sighed. "I'm really sorry you had to see that side of me. A kiss at that moment would be really inappropriate. When we — if we ever do, um, it wouldn't be like that... just like what you said. You said that right? You said, and I quote, not like this. 'Cause I keep hearing your voice saying that in my head." Bucky nodded, affirming it. "Okay. Um, yeah so in conclusion... I am sorry."
He slowly smiled, nodding his head. "You make a lot of speeches."
"Yeah, I'm the queen when it comes to it."
"And apology accepted, of course."
You warmed up with a smile. "Okay, thank you. Good night."
“Good night, doll."
Once you turned around, you felt a strong force on your arm, spinning your body which then collided with Bucky's, together with his lips crashing on yours.
It was like an impulse you couldn't avoid: for you to close your eyes, to move your lips in his rhythm, and to savor his breath. He tasted like cold champagne, and mint, with a hint of coffee. His lips, luscious, warm and soft; you were afraid of tearing them apart with your teeth. He kissed you with all the fervor of a lover. A lover talked about in books, movies, in fairytales.
Bucky's hands found their way around your hips, pulling you closer towards his body, while you rested yours on the sides of his face, pulling every inch of him, craving more of him. Slowly, you opened your eyes and tore your faces only an inch apart, foreheads touching. Lips empty but still hungry. You stayed right where you were; You never dared move an inch and so did he. You were still like statues. The only movement was the rapid rise and fall of your breathing.
Bucky's hands slid from your waist. You felt his fingers on the nape of your neck, his thumb tracing your lower lip and giving it a small, passionate kiss.
"Just like this, doll." He whispered. "Just like this."

The Batman - Review
Tumblr media
So yesterday after coming home from work my dad and I went to watch The Batman on IMAX, a packed crowd awaited the 8pm showing start and enduring the multiple ads of so-so trailers to reach the film, at 11:15pm we left the cinema to discuss what we liked and disliked about the film
and now after a long sleep and some sporadic free time in between other commitments, I'll do it here 24 hours later and dissect my thoughts on the film, the direction and Battinson himself
Spoilers for the movie of course, watch it first then come back
I will start with a set of disclaimers; firstly, these are of course my opinions, and thus they will differ from others, secondly, most negatives I pose are more things that took me out of the film a little, it is of course easier to find negatives than positives, and finally, the enjoyment of a Batman film tends to lean on an individual's perception of Batman.
By that I mean the values Batman has differs from person to person, some people see Batman differently to others, for me, Batman is Kevin Conroy's BTAS version, a crusader of justice who carries the weight of his parents' deaths with him, but also doesn't choose to kill because he wants to help his enemies, given that most are victims of circumstance or system.
But this isn't Conroy, this is Pattinson, so let's dive in.
What I didn't like
It's probably not made for IMAX A small tidbit, but watching this in IMAX made me feel very sensory overload at times. It is so fucking loud sometimes, and the light/dark ratio makes it that when it is light it can easily be blinding. Because of this I can't tell if the film itself was very out of focus at times or if it was just my eyes playing up. It's cinematic for sure, but IMAX may be a bit much.
Vehicular Indulgence I know Batman has the Batmobile and Batcycle, I know Catwoman favours the motorbike too, but I don't think I shared the love of motorbikes that Matt Reeves does. The long-winded POV shots and ride scenes were very gratuitous.
The Batmobile also wasn't a winner for me, I get they wanted to make it realistic and made it a decked out car but at the same time it just felt like a car with a rocket on its butt, the car chase while great would've also ripped that thing apart.
Bruce (and many others) should very much be dead For a film that wanted to ground Batman in realism they really didn't do well in consistency when it came to injuries. Bruce is the biggest culprit of this, because he took a bomb explosion to the face and wasn't mangled, then after regaining consciousness escaped GCPD via a flightsuit which then had its parachute caught on the underside of a bridge (which was a dumbass thing to try) and whiplashed face first into a light fixture, landed onto a moving bus and then to the ground, even with a batsuit the mouth is exposed and should be burned and mangled to death.
And this is not talking about the wildly inconsistent durability of the Batsuit. At the start he would stagger from planks of wood and bludgeoning weapons, then later tank rapid gunfire like it was nothing, only then to be thrown by a Shotgun blast after shrugging off Rifle bolts. He didn't change his kit, so it felt like plot armour demanded which things Bruce could no-sell, even if bullets don't pierce you the impact should still hurt like a motherfucker.
Other characters should've met grisly fates, Penguin did a huge barrel roll in a very small car, escaping a box-in of several large and heavy-duty vehicles in that car chase. Selina likely should've died too from strangulation, because the cuestick should've led to a crushed larynx given Falcone's size advantage. Also several cases of crushing, drowning, blunt force trauma and electrocution from the final act, even if you cut a wire it still carries current for a short while and given how there was a stage with screens, there'd be a lot of waterlogged wires on the floor anyway.
Needs More Alfred Batman films always seem to understand the importance of Alfred Pennyworth given how they always cast a highly respected actor for the role; Michael Gough, Michael Caine, Jeremy Irons and now Andy Serkis. Serkis' Alfred however didn't really have much of a role in the story, a lot of the times he was an observer for exposition between opening someone else's mail and not noticing the red flag of a 'fireproof' sticker on an envelope with clear Riddler font in time. It's a small gripe - begetting to another gripe I'm gonna get to - but I would've loved to have seen Alfred do more for Bruce than mess up on a cipher.
What's Bold, Flat, and Invisible in the Dark? There is definitely praise awaiting the Riddler in the next section, but there were things I felt were a bit off about the iconic Bat-villain. The first has to be the identity struggle, while it was clear that this Riddler is simply an idea of a less fortune-bound and hate filled orphan using the same fear-mongering as Batman, the fact is it didn't feel like the Riddler. This could mainly be because I know other Bat villains that fit this role better, meaning the rebrand of Saw Riddler aka Edward 'Nashton' was a bit unnecessary, we could've easily incorporated Prometheus, Scarecrow or even the hinted Hush (I would've loved it to be Hush actually, since it calls back to the Hush animated movie where Riddler is Hush rather than Thomas Elliot) into the same role.
Nashton is very much Prometheus and Hush having a baby left in a very cruel orphanage and dressed in a Riddler suit (more on that in a moment), where his riddles don't link up either. When you have a character like him it invites the audience to try and figure it out, but The Batman doesn't indulge the audience that way, you get little hints at the greater scheme and never actually see Nashton before his reveal as Riddler which does feel like a missed opportunity. Also we missed a trick with the 'For the Batman' fonts, it really felt like that was gonna come around given how the lettering was different each time.
I didn't like the suit, the mask with glasses fixtures and a boiler suit does make sense given his character but again it doesn't feel like Riddler. The Riddler craves attention and mental superiority - also more on that later - leaving trails to mock those who try to chase him, like Jack the Ripper, so it didn't feel at all flashy. When he was unmasked it did feel a lot worse, a common problem being that the mask is the menace, when you see his face it kills a lot of the fear and the crooning moans did nothing to help.
His plot didn't always make sense either; he decided to attack Bruce because he's a richer orphan who has committed zero* crimes (*publicly known), his endgame to deluge Gotham didn't seem that productive either, like it didn't align with any of his established goals and was much more of a Ra's al Ghul move.
Also the answer to the riddle is a Shadow.
Good Bat, Bad Bruce Pattinson and Reeves did really well with Batman, but when it came to Bruce Wayne they struggled. Pattinson's Bruce is very much a moody teen rather than a 20-something man fighting crime in a suit for 2 years, it makes sense for him to be a workaholic but there was very much a lack of the Bruce aspect, simply being a rich recluse. This does have a lot to do with Reeves' direction though, because most of the Bruce scenes were kinda boring, lots of long stares and moments where it fell to other cast members to carry the story around Bruce, the only really good scenes Bruce had were saving the kid at the memorial and confronting Falcone about his parents.
While Bruce is considered 'early Batman' and been called 'incomplete' it did feel like a lot was lacking in Bruce as well. Changing his origin was a bigger part of that, making it an unsolved case which could have been Sal Maroni but could still be Joe Chill that Bruce wasn't present for really changes the motivating factor for him to become Batman. His relationship with Alfred was lacking too, I understand they wanted to set it up here, but 20 years have passed, Bruce can't be that stubborn to treat Alfred with contempt for 2 decades including 2 years of Batman-ing where Alfred is clued in and compelled to help out. It just didn't land too well for me, the same can be said with the Riddler case, it started strong with him spotting stuff in the crime scene, but then when it came to the biggest stuff he kinda 'fell upwards' with solutions (this also includes the car chase when a ramp conveniently appears at the right time), which upsets the dynamic of Batman and Riddler, the Riddler pushes himself to prove himself Batman's intellectual superior, but in this he's basically vindicated from their face to face encounter.
Unnecessary Side Character Stuff My penultimate gripe is gonna be more generalized. But it covers mostly sideplots and side characters.
The family drama was perhaps a bit much, the Waynes stuff had already been done by Telltale and the Court of Owls, it is a dangerous play given how much his parents motivates Bruce on his crusade, I'm glad they left some doubt for it but it did feel rather contrived, as did Selina Kyle's parentage with Falcone. It didn't feel too necessary for Selina's motivations, and it was very obvious from their first interaction.
Selina calling all of Riddler's victims 'White supremacists' was perhaps a little bit of virtue signaling, it's not lost that half incorruptible major characters of the movie are poc (Gordon and Bella Réal) but it felt a tad unnecessary, the victims' corruption were not a product of their race, it was a product of their greed.
I must apologize to Con O'Neill's portrayal of Chief Bock, but his voice is not at all intimidating, he sounded like a deflating balloon trying to sound serious and it was unwittingly funny.
The final one is the part at the end, Joker is synonymous with Batman yes, but this film did not need him hinted at the end of the movie, which does of course lead to my final criticism.
It didn't know when to end The third act may've been praised by others, but it did feel quite messy at times to me. I think a lot of it comes from the fact that the film felt like it was finished once the Riddler was caught, only to keep going for the deluge scene, and then once that was resolved, we hinted the Joker, and then when that was done we had Bat and Cat departure.
We could've shaved off half an hour of this movie, and perhaps ended on the scene I've used as a gif, that for me was perhaps the picture perfect finish, keeping the good stuff of the final act.
What I Enjoyed
Dynamic Duos While I had my gripes about Alfred's underuse and the strong difference Riddler had from his comic counterpart, I can't deny that the film did really well in the remaining key dynamics between characters. Perhaps the strongest is Batman and Catwoman by design, setting up the conflict of ideology layered in romantic tension, but there is a great dynamic between Batman and Gordon too which never feels overshadowed. Falcone's dynamics with Bruce and Selina as well as Penguin's dynamic with Batman should also get some praise as well, it really sold a lot of the scenes while fleshing out each character's personality. Good chemistry will always improve on a film and each character did get to bounce off of each other very well.
A Strong Supporting Cast Actors aside because damn is there a lot of blockbuster actors in there, there were great showings for several of the characters who had big big shoes to fill.
Jeffery Wright deserves a lot of praise as Gordon, the former Felix Leiter has upgraded to be the future Commissioner, indelible and a damn good cop, he proves himself often as Batman's truest and most trusted ally in the movie, and this is all done with 2 years of unseen origin setup to establish this dynamic.
Also huge praise for John Turturro's portrayal of Carmine Falcone, he is brilliantly cast in looks and mannerisms, which is impressive given how he has spent decades playing comedic roles. But he really sells the aura of an old mobster in control of everything.
As much as I had problems with the Riddler, Paul Dano did really well in selling the intimidation factor of the Riddler, he definitely had a look of being Edward Nygma (or Nashton) when unmasked, making him very believable. Believable is also what I'd use for Colin Farrell's Penguin too, the makeup is perfect and the mannerisms is great, giving off an Al Capone vibe at times too.
Of course our top side character is Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman, she was very much everything Halle Berry's Catwoman film should have been. A femme fatale with a rough background but a kinder core, she performed really well in the role, shining as a near co-main character. One has to expect a spin-off for her in the future.
A Detective Thriller Most Batman movies have often leaned on the hero side of Batman, so it was very refreshing to see Reeves lean more on the Detective Aspect. At least until the third act, it balanced itself well on being a smaller-scale hunt for a serial killer escalating due to the presence of Batman himself. While others could've filled the same role, the use of the Riddler does suit the narrative of a mental battle undergoing in the plot rather than A needs to beat up B.
There was of course a lot of horror vibes too, suiting the dark tones of Batman comics and the Burton movies (and probably Batman Begins as well), the film probably carries tension better than most Batman films except for The Dark Knight, but that is still a great feat to achieve.
Action Comics When it came to the action, the action was good. The close quarters combat of Batman was what you'd expect but they used unique settings and scenarios to keep each scene fresh. From fighting in the club, a pouring with rain drug trade, a pitch black hallway lit only by gunfire, and then the...whatyamacallit the hanging thing in the final fight.
Then of course there was the car chase, which was done really well despite criticisms that everyone there would be dead, it was an exciting chain of action which continued to sell the physical threat Batman can pose.
Hats off to Production Before I get to the final and most important plus of the film I have to give a lot of credit to how the movie was made, that mainly falls to 3 main credits.
Matt Reeves' direction was for the most part concise and solid, showing us the gritty underbelly of Gotham City, there is clear presentation of how each major character is presented and how they are aligned. And of course there's the contrast in reaction, the most clear one is the Iceberg Lounge's Rule of 3; Batman comes to talk and he has to fight his way in, Bruce Wayne comes to talk and he gets straight to the penthouse suite, then the third time he sneaks in as Bruce and gets to walk out as Batman with Falcone in hand.
Greig Fraser's Cinematography is great also, which is no surprise given his repertoire of Rogue One, Mandalorian, and pending an Oscar nomination likely-victory in Dune. Fraser brought Gotham to life with its Noir setting; it's always bleak and raining, with greyish tones against the primary colours when it came to lighting; Red, Yellow and Blue. Wayne Manor's gothic estate exudes Bruce's wealth but also leans on Dracula themes and Bruce's near-vampiric seclusion, while the Iceberg Lounge also acts as a metaphor to Gotham's corruption itself: the club being chaotic, loud and distracting, the 'inner club' is full of the important people but are all corrupt, drunk and drugged up but feeling like they're in control, and then finally there's Falcone's penthouse; quiet, lavish, and free to have privacy, because Falcone is in control.
The final act and the car chase is where the Cinematography shines best, walking through the fire, the deluge, the Iceberg lounge fight, the flare, the helicopter pickup, there is so much great and defining scenes that come thanks to the clear vision of the film.
And the final hat tip I need to give to is Michael Giacchino. The dude is severely underrated as a composer, and the music for this film is incredible. The slow burn orchestral theme for Batman himself is a beautiful combination of gothic horror, intimidation and grandeur. The music is always so impactful, it feels almost operatic and I was all in for it.
He is Vengeance So finally we have to get to Pattinson. Earlier I noted how his Bruce Wayne needs work, but his Batman was excellent. The presence he had was amazingly detailed; from the massive platform boots to add towering height and the sound of heavy steps as an intimidation tactic, the practicality of his gauntlets holding gadgets like his grappling hook, the pop-up flight suit being unready and still a work in progress sold by Bruce's hesitation to jump the building, the cold stares within a crime scene where you can see the wheels in motion, everything about Batman stands out and warrants attention, which was sold perfectly by the fact that forensics and cops followed his observations.
The character journey Bruce undergoes however is most important, because he is forced to confront 3 kinds of enemies relative to himself: Falcone is the enemy of Bruce Wayne, his ties to his parents and the corrupt system of Gotham and challenges his morality, Penguin is the enemy of Batman but only as an alleged culprit, he challenges Batman's physicality, and Riddler ends up being both Batman and Bruce's enemy; the experiences Nashton faced in his orphanage forces Bruce to confront his reclusive nature and his relationship with Alfred, but as Batman he has to confront Nashton's similar methods and how his ideology can also be corrupted in the wrong hands - faltering his unflappable presence as he missed the clue to Riddler's crescendo, almost breaking his code in a heat of desperation, and finally coming to a head when that one Riddler goon (which I think is the same guy who chatted with Bruce at the memorial) echoes his words 'I am vengeance'.
As a result of these confrontations, seeing Batman win over Gotham with his actions was earned and slightly cathartic, because it detailed a coming of age for both Bruce and Batman to be more than what they started out being, and one he has to commit to despite his affections for Catwoman. The journey is by no means complete, which is a good thing than means we have more time to develop on more of the journey, but it also stops at a point that's complete enough to feel like the closing of a chapter.
Conclusion
So considering my perception of Batman, the question lies did I enjoy it? And the answer is yes, I did enjoy it despite tempering my expectations, I left the cinema glad I watched it and feeling like I'd watch it again if it were on TV or if someone offered.
There were bits I didn't like about it, but most of it were either things I could live with or things where I didn't quite share the same enthusiasm that Reeves did, but there was a lot of entertaining parts to enjoy from his vision also.
I don't think it's the best Batman movie ever made, but it's gotta be up there, I think I enjoyed it as much as I did Batman Begins, Mask of the Phantasm and The Dark Knight Rises, and with company like that I'd say that's a pretty big win. I'll be intrigued for what more is to come.

Star Wars (1977); AFI #13
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In honor of May 4th and the original movie that started it all, the group reviewed Star Wars (1977). Nominated for 10 Academy Awards and winning 6 with one extra special achievement award for Sound, this is perhaps the most highly decorated science fiction movie of all time. The special effects and the music were especially moving making the Star Wars experience something amazing to behold. I was lucky enough to see one of the re-releases in the theatre back in the mid 80s. In fact, I might well have seen the film 100 times over my life. The music might be the most well known soundtrack globally. With inflation, this is the 4th highest grossing film of all time. It is truly a fantastic work and I would like to now spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it. Let me start with the usual:
SPOILER WARNING!!! I DON'T THINK THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM, BUT FOR THOSE FEW THAT DON'T KNOW, I AM GOING TO RUIN THE PLOT!!! STOP NOW AND GO WATCH IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amid a galactic civil war, Rebel Alliance spies have stolen plans to the Galactic Empire's Death Star, a massive space station capable of destroying an entire planet. Imperial Senator Princess Leia of Alderaan (Carrie Fisher), secretly one of the Rebellion's leaders, has obtained its schematics (this entire effort was originally a throwaway concept but was completely fleshed out in Rogue One almost 40 years later) , but her starship is intercepted by an Imperial Star Destroyer under the command of the ruthless Darth Vader (acted by David Prowse and voiced by James Earl Jones). The movie is just starting and the odds against the rebels are shown by the scale of the two ships. Before she is captured, Leia hides the plans in the memory of an astromech droid called R2-D2 (Kenny Baker), who flees in an escape pod to the desert planet Tatooine accompanied by protocol droid C-3PO (Anthony Daniels).
The droids are captured by Jawa traders (little shiny eyed beings who are now meme legends), who sell them to moisture farmers Owen and Beru Lars and their nephew Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). While Luke is cleaning R2-D2, part of a holographic recording of Leia starts playing a message for Obi-Wan Kenobi where she requests his help ("Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope!"). Later, after Luke finds R2-D2 missing, he is attacked by scavenging Sand People while searching for him, but is rescued by elderly hermit "Old Ben" Kenobi (Sir Alec Guinness), an acquaintance of Luke's, who reveals that "Obi-Wan" is his true name. Obi-Wan tells Luke of his days as one of the Jedi Knights, the former peacekeepers of the Galactic Republic who drew mystical abilities from a metaphysical energy field known as "the Force", but were ultimately hunted to near-extinction by the Empire. Luke learns that his father fought alongside Obi-Wan as a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars (another throwaway concept that was eventually fleshed out) until Vader, Obi-Wan's former pupil, turned to the dark side of the Force and murdered him. Obi-Wan presents Luke with his father's old lightsaber, the signature weapon of Jedi Knights. The connection between Darth Vader and Luke's father is explored in depth during the next eight films.
R2-D2 plays Leia's full message, in which she begs Obi-Wan to take the Death Star plans to her home planet of Alderaan and give them to her father, a fellow veteran, for analysis. Although Luke initially declines Obi-Wan's offer to accompany him to Alderaan and learn the ways of the Force, he is left with no choice after discovering that Imperial stormtroopers have killed his aunt and uncle and destroyed their farm in their search for the droids (cue the Academy and Grammy Award winning theme music composed by John Williams). Traveling to a cantina in Mos Eisley to search for transport, Luke and Obi-Wan hire Han Solo (Harrison Ford), a smuggler with a price on his head due to his debt to local mobster Jabba the Hutt. Pursued by stormtroopers, Obi-Wan, Luke, R2-D2 and C-3PO flee Tatooine with Han and his Wookiee co-pilot Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) on their ship the Millennium Falcon. As they reach the planet's orbit, two Star Destroyers try to intercept them, but Han is able to jump to hyperspace by reaching lightspeed.
Before the Falcon can reach Alderaan, Death Star commander Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing) interrogates Leia about the location of the Rebels's secret base, with the threat of destroying her home planet, and, when she answers that the base is on Dantooine, he orders Alderaan destroyed simply as a show of force. As the group arrives in the asteroid field that now stands in place of Alderaan, Han spots an Imperial TIE fighter and is taunted into chasing it and shooting it down, allowing the Falcon to be captured by the space station's tractor beam. Inside the Death Star, Obi-Wan attempts to disable the tractor beam, and Luke persuades Han and Chewbacca to help him rescue Leia after discovering that she is scheduled to be executed. After disabling the tractor beam, Obi-Wan sacrifices his life in an epic lightsaber duel with Vader, allowing the rest of the group to escape the Death Star with Leia. Using a tracking device, the Empire tracks the Falcon to the hidden Rebel base.
Leia's schematics reveal a hidden weakness in the Death Star's thermal exhaust port, which could allow the Rebels to trigger a chain reaction in its main reactor with a precise torpedo strike. While Han abandons the Rebels after collecting his reward for rescuing Leia, Luke joins their starfighter squadron in a desperate attack against the approaching Death Star. In the ensuing battle, the Rebels suffer heavy losses as Vader leads a squadron of TIE fighters against them, but Han unexpectedly returns to aid them in the Falcon, narrowly managing to save Luke before Vader can shoot him down. Guided by the disembodied voice of Obi-Wan's spirit, Luke turns off his targeting computer and uses the Force to aim his torpedoes into the exhaust port, destroying the Death Star moments before it fires on the Rebel base. In a triumphant ceremony at the base, Leia awards Luke and Han medals for their heroism.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to explain the connection between this movie and the Joseph Campbell version of the hero's journey that so many people have pointed out. This journey starts out with a call to adventure that is refused and then forced (Luke is given an opportunity to leave, he declines, the death of his family pushes him forward, he leaves with his team). Campbell then predicts an initiation that involves meeting a woman and gaining weapons, a meeting with an incredible power, and an achievement of the hero's power (goes to star destroyer, meets Vader and loses Obi-Wan, gains power over force). The story ends with a refusal, a magic flight, a rescue from without, and a hero's return (Luke goes to attack the Death Star, Han refuses and then eventually saves him, and the day is saved so the heroes are rewarded). It is a story that is called the Monomyth and has been recognized in Greek myths that are thousands of years old. It is a good story that has been proven to work and it makes for one of the most enjoyable movies of all time.
There was some negative opinions of the film because it is such a simple old story that became extremely popular and film goers would no longer be interested in intelligent thinking movies. It is kind of the truth because blockbuster summer films are full of explosions. The highest grossing films since then have tended to be highly explosive action films. Films like Star Wars, Jaws, and Indiana Jones are a lot of fun, but they are not super deep. They are easy to understand at surface level, but they can also be interpreted to mean much more significant things. The choice of the viewer about whether the story has deep inner meaning or is just the Odyssey in space is personal and likely colors opinions about how good it is. Some people think it is stupid fun while others have actually formed religions around the idea of the force.
One thing is for certain, the formula worked amazingly well for a large group of people and this made movie producers want to copy it. This is what is generally called a watershed moment because the look of movies changed significantly. There were so many more space operas and they all had that worn post-apocalyptic look to them. Star Wars and Mad Max combined to give a different look of what futuristic was. There was advanced tech in some cases, but there was a scorched Earth that had run out of resources and people suffered. Think about how many movies and television shows there are that have come out since the 80s and combine industrial tech for space and distressed almost Western appearances for the planets. The movie changed the way many people see the future.
One thing that is inarguably great was the score. I am not going to try and describe it with words, I am just going to put links to the different themes here so you can hear for yourself:
Star Wars Main Theme (Full) - YouTube
Star Wars- The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme) - YouTube
Princess Leia's Theme - YouTube
Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope (1977) Soundtrack 11 Cantina Band - YouTube
This is somewhat strange for the AFI so I went back and checked, but I believe that this is the only film with a ranked villain (Darth Vader), hero (Han Solo), and theme song (Main Theme). Even if it is somewhat simplistic from some perspectives, the story and the songs and the sounds and the characters speak to those who watch it. Seeing the movie is an incredible experience and I envy those who get to see it for the first time.
I am a big fan of the original Star Wars trilogy and I could completely nerd out going over all of the little things throughout the movie, but this is not a deep dive but instead an overall review. So does it belong on the AFI top 100? Maybe more than any other movie. It is an epic tale that changed the way movies were made across multiple genres. We could probably look at all science fiction films and put them as before or after this one. It is an important piece of American film and (no matter what anyone thinks of the other Star Wars films or George Lucas) it is a masterpiece. Would I recommend it? I cannot say yes enough. It is part of my culture as a California movie nerd and understanding this film is understanding some of the basic knowledge I grew up with. All sticks are swung around like light sabers. If I say "Princess Leia hair," everyone around here knows exactly what I mean. If something is impossible but still needs to be done, we tell people to use the force. I have lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and I can still reference a location by how close it is to Skywalker Ranch were George Lucas worked on movies. Please check out this film and you will know why I am such a fan of movies.

The Skywalker Mechanic (Headcanon)
Poe Dameron x Mechanic!Reader
“Could you possibly do a Poe Dameron x mechanic!reader. Were the reader is Leia's daughter but no one really knows that because the reader is quite and only works at night because she just wants to be alone. And her work is amazing that no one really know who does it, so Poe ask Leia who is behind it but she tells him not to bug the reader. But he doesn't really listen so he sets up a stakeout to figure out who it is and he meets the reader. He tries to befriend/slowly falls in love with her, but she has trouble trusting people because of what happened between her and Ben. I really don't know were I'm going with this but basically Poe and the reader end up together.” - @depressed-comics
A/N: so it didn’t save half way through because tumblr is always a b****. BUT thankfully I screenshotted it before it disappeared so the last part is just images.
Ultimate Masterlist
Tumblr media
-Ever since Poe joined the resistance, he was always fascinated by the quality of his aircraft after a mission
-he came back from a mission with a damaged engine and a busted wing yet 19 hours later, the aircraft came back better then it was when it was brand new
-sometimes he’d find the most ideal additions that help him during his missions
-that could range from devices that help him go undetected by the First Order to something as mundane as a cushion to help relieve the stress from his neck
-one day in particular he was fighting three first order members.
-he had hit two, leaving one left.
-turns out he was better than Poe expected, resulting in the ship hurderling down due to a failed engine
-Poe thought he was going to die. But he didn’t. His seat had created a safeguard of hard metal around him before ejecting him out of the plane
-what even amazed him more is that a signal was sent out to the resistance that helped them locate him in a matter of hours
-Poe was amazed by the work of this mechanic he had yet to meet
-in fact, everyone was amazed, yet no one knew who you were
-“Please Commander, I just want to show my gratitude, he has saved my life countless of times with his inventions,” Poe begged Leia who rolled her eyes at him. “It’s the least I could do.”
-“This is final Poe. I don’t want you to interfere with the Mechanic. The Mechanic works better alone and would prefer not to be interrupted,” Leia commanded in a strict tone
-but Poe detected some protectiveness in the Commander’s tone. Did she know this being personally?
-Poe nodded before walking away. Leia sighed, thinking this was final
-but it wasn’t. Poe was determined to meet this mechanic
-so he created a plan.
-he went out with his X-Wing for ‘errands’, before landing and throwing out his engine in a random planet
-he knows. He should have done that. But he was desperate to meet the ‘man’ behind the great inventions.
-“Stupid Jawas took my engine while I was running errands, any chance you can fix it?” Poe asked one of the guys who he normally gave the aircrafts to so he can send it off the the mechanics.
-the male nodded as he waved to the others to take it to be fixed.
-Poe watched, biting his lower lip. “You know, I’ve never asked. Where do you guys take the aircrafts.”
-“Well we just place it in the garage at Sector 6 overnight and it comes back brand new,” The guy explained, throwing the chain over the X-Wing and locking it into the carrier. “Mechanic apparently likes working at night. And alone.”
-“Do you know who he is?”
-“No sir.”
-At 6pm, when the sun begins to set, he sneaks into the garage at Sector six, hiding in the ledge near the ceiling.
-when it hits 11pm, his eyes begin to flutter, tiredness taking its toll
-it isn’t until 1am he hears the sound of footsteps
-look down, his face morphs into shock because the mechanic is a girl
-and not just any girl. The most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on in the entire galaxy
-you stop in your tracks and Poe gets scared. Did you see him?
-Of course you can’t because he’s out of view, it was impossible for you to see him
-but you could. Not in the way Poe thought. You felt a presence within the room, one that you haven’t met.
-“Why are you here?” He heard your tired voice speak. Poe was taken back. He thought you were talking to someone else. “I know you’re up there on the ledger.”
-Poe’s heart started beating. How the hell were you able to see him, he kept thinking
-he slowly made his way down, now embarrassed for having been caught
-you folded your arms, an eyebrow raised. “So? What are you doing here?”
-“I-I wanted to thank you,” Poe stuttered, your beauty making him nervous. “For saving my life numerous times.”
-“You’re welcome,” you spoke quietly, not being a very social person. You just wanted to be left alone.
-You didn’t say anything else. Poe tried to think of something, trying to keep the conversation going
-you were the girl of his dreams. He knew that the moment he saw you, he wanted to marry you
-I mean, where else is he going to find a mechanic who’s this gorgeous?
-“I’m Poe Dameron,” he introduced himself, raising his hand up. You looked at his hand and Poe detected some slight fear in your eyes so he placed it back down.
-“I’m Y/N,” You spoke, not mentioning your last name. Poe rubbed his hands together, looking around the garage.
-“C-can I get you something to eat?” Poe asked. “Since you’re always fixing my aircraft.”
-“No- no it’s fine-“
-“I insist.”
-and ever since then, Poe had been coming into the garage to give you food and sometimes help you out.
-you’d both talk about aircrafts, about flying and everything else related to those topics.
-Poe would stay up all night just to talk to you.
-and bring you two different meals so that you could have first choice and he’d eat whatever was left.
-this happened for almost three months
-Poe felt himself falling for you every passing moment
-and you felt it too
-but you were scared
-this fear stemmed from the fact that your brother, your own blood, had betrayed you
-trust was something that was difficult for you. And although that was a reality, you still felt you could trust him. And that terrified you
-you never spoke about family, even when Poe talked about his parents, his past.
-And he was okay with that
-until one day you let it slip
-“I’m telling you, Han’s Millenium Falcon isn’t even that fast!” Poe laughed as you both argued about what planes are better. “The X-Wings are new, improved even!”
-“My dad will kill you if he ever heard you say that,” you laughed, before you went quiet
-‘fuck, fuck, fuck,’ you kept repeating in your head. Poe’s eyes widened as he realised what you had said.
-“You’re a Solo?” Poe asked slowly.
-You quickly got up, packing your stuff.
-You felt so embarrassed, so ashamed.
-Tears formed in your eyes, remembering the pain you went through, the betrayal you went through
-Remembering how your own brother hurt you
-you shouldn’t have trusted anyone. You shouldn’t have let anyone come so close to you.
-“Wait, where are you going?” Poe asked
-you didn’t speak to him as you quickly ran out the door before Poe could chase after you.
-a week passes and Poe still hasn’t seen you
-he stayed up every night and waited till 7am in the morning at the garage just to get a chance to speak to you
-but you never arrive
-“Please Commander, I need to speak to Y/N,” Poe pleaded Leia, his voice desperate. “Just tell me where she is.”
-“Poe I told you to stay away from her, she’s been through enough and-“
-“-I love her,” Poe cut her off. He nodded himself, taking in the words he had just spoken. “I love her.”
-Leia sighed, closing her eyes as she sensed the urgency in Poe’s words. And plus, you needed someone like Poe in your life.
-“She’s at Bay 5,” Leia spoke, rubbing her eyes.
-“Bay 5?” Poe asked in confusion, hurt laced in his tone. “She- she’s going to leave?”
-“In five minutes if you don’t hurry up.”
-and with that, Poe ran towards bay 5 like his life depended on it.
-he felt like this was it. It was now or never. There will never be anyone quite like you in his life and he knows that.
-“Y/N!” Poe yelled as he finally made it to Bay 5.
-his heart was beating rapidly as he saw a plane about to take off
-“Y/N wait-“ Poe yelled but was cut off by the sound of your plane flying away
-he breathed in heavily as he watched your plane fly away further and further before he couldn’t see it
-he was glad no one else was in bay 5 to notice the pain in his face
-you were gone. You were really gone. And Poe might never see you again
