L: How many times do you usually revise your fic/chapter before posting?

Usually as I'm writing it (assuming I don't just do it all in one sitting), I'll come back and give it a read over and edit before I start back to work, and then I read over it once more before I post it. that's usually it though. I'm lazy when it comes to editing lol. pretty much all my fics are first drafts.

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

well, I do still want to write the fic about Splinter's son (that he didn't know he had) stumbling into their lives post-movie. I have a post about it on here somewhere.

the fic I MEANT to write after I was done with IMBI (before a different AU plagued my brain, which I've been actively working on) is a fic whose working title is "Mikey and Donnie's Step-by-Step Guide for Saving Your Doomed Family," which is the obligatory peepaw fic. It follows Mikey and Donnie, post-movie, building a cross-dimensional time machine to try and save the bad future Hamatos and bring them to the saved present. It's told from Mikey and Donnie's POVs and has a heavy focus on their relationship, both pre- and post-Krang invasion.

I do still really want to write it, it's just that this other thing completely consumed my creative energy. oops.

N: Is there a fic you wish someone else would write (or finish) for you?

uhhh idk. I have lots of ideas all the time that I'll probably never write just because, you know, time and labor lol, but not really any I can think of to put here.

T: Any fandom tropes you can’t stand?

uhhhh I think my biggest thing that is Popular In Fandom but I Don't Like is AUs that bring fantastical canons into our reality and like, have the characters going to college or working office jobs or whatever. so "modern AUs," except it bums me out that that's the name we settled on because actual modern times in the setting of a fantasy canon could be really fun! Like, I don't want the "modern AU" Dragon Age to have Hawke working at a coffee shop and taking writing classes at the local uni, I want it to have them fighting darkspawn on top of a skyscraper. or like, you can have the Gaang going to college, but why can't they bend anymore! just let them have it!

FFXV is one of my favorite canons purely because it actually shows some of the thought behind like, what if a world had normal modern technology (they're driving around in modern cars and using smartphones) but also monsters and gods and magic. but so many fantasy settings in fiction are either medieval or do the bullshit where you have the "magic world" hidden from the "normal world". no! boring! I want to know how legislative proceedings are affected when congressmen can challenge each other to wizard duels. expand your mind!

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

this is list is not in any particular order:

taizi is an amazingly talented writer, there are so many lines in their fics that make me go "wow", and they have such a grasp on character and emotion. they also have some great One Piece fics!

MagicalSpaceDragon is another absolutely incredible writer. their "theseus, and" series is particularly good, but I actually have them in my bookmarks for one of my favorite ROTTMNT fics of all time, "i guess we've really been out of touch (but can it really be so serious)"

and reccing my friend Kiaxet, who is also an amazing writer who mixes hilarity, angst, and heartwarming moments with a deft hand. I'm so excited for the rest of her "Siblingquest 20XX" fic, but all her fics are amazing!

and while they aren't a TMNT writer, I wanna shout out Asidian, who has written several of my favorite FFXV fics (including and especially "Running Behind", which is one of the best MT!Prompto fics, right up there with "poor wayfaring stranger"), and also has some amazing Rise of the Guardians fics (I especially love "Bits and Pieces", which has my favorite trope of "hungry character gets fed", but "Every Boy And Girl" also makes me cry everytime).

These are GREAT choices, I feel like I would have more to say if I wasn't so tired but here goes anyway:

Kimberly Garner

First impression: I honestly don't remember much, but one thing that stood out was probably that Artem got his eyes from her! I love finding the resemblances of the NXX team members to their biological family.

What I think now: I like her! Although she's not a perfect mother by any means, I like that she's very casual with Artem. She definitely loves him and wants the best for him, even if she wasn't able to be with him as much as he might have wanted when he was young.

Favorite moment: I'll be honest here, canon and stuff I've read in fic kind of blend together when it comes to Kimberly, but one thing I remember from the game is from the 2023 LNY call. It's where Artem is like, "my mom told me off for not bringing you over for dinner :((" and although it's off screen, it's a fun little interaction. (Non-canon wise, I've written a fic where Kimberly comes over to Artem's place to celebrate his birthday, only to get stuffed into a Trojan horse type thing with the other NXX members to surprise him. Along a similar vein, there's a fic called once more around the sun (i revolve around you) by @samsspambox where Kimberly tries her best to be present for Artem's birthdays after Neil tells her off.)

Vincent Kim

First impression: oh Marius has an assistant! He seems young! Why is he wearing gloves? (<- probably my primary thoughts upon seeing Vincent)

What I think now: I think he's super underrated and underutilized!!! I think there is so much more to Vincent than just being Marius' PA, but the main story almost never goes into these things. I mean, you'd have to be a pretty special person if Marius is going to trust you with research or work for the NXX Investigation Team. I also feel like canon maintains this professional barrier between Marius and Vincent when I think that they should actually be friends outside of work. Because the trust is there, and also because Vincent has canonically walked into Marius trying to flirt with MC. So Vincent has seen things that other people in Marius' life probably wouldn't get to.

Favorite moment: When we learn that Vincent is actually into romance media. It's such a delightful detail to know because it means he's a normal guy, too!!

Zangr Stewart

First impression: ohh fourth wall break guy!!! :D he's so silly. surely he's a one-off guy and won't return later. (also in the Lost Gold event, I was one of those guilty of assuming the picture of Zangr from behind was just Artem. Their hairstyles are very similar from the back.)

What I think now: I'm so glad you asked about him because I love Zangr's character so much, I'm truly delighted every time he appears in an event. Ever since he showed up in Skadi, every time he's not in a major event, I'm a little disappointed he's not going to join in the hilarity.

Favorite moment: My favorite funny moment(s) is probably in the Skadi event when the game mechanic has you approach Zangr to debate him multiple times, because the idea of MC marching up to Zangr nearly every day during her time at Skadi is such a funny idea to me. No matter what, Zangr's not going to get rid of her, and she's not going to stop bumping into him, either. (Slight tangent to this is how I actually don't mind the idea of MC/Zangr as a ship, but with the caveat that it has to be only under very specific circumstances. Otherwise they're like hilarious nuisances that keep running into each other. "Oh no, it's the protagonist debate lady :|" "OHO, it's ZANGR once again >:D"). My favorite serious moment is probably during the Blizzardous Threads of Red event when Zangr has crucial information, but only reveals it when MC goes along with his line of reasoning instead of her usual "because of truth and justice" answer. I think it goes to show that conceptually, MC and Zangr have opposing mindsets and as stubborn as they are, neither of them are willing to give up their point of view for another reason. Which is completely fair, of course, but also incredibly fascinating to me.

Hi darling, so lovely to hear from you! *HUGS* I do see you around, and it makes me SO HAPPY every single time I do. I hope you're doing good?

Oh, how would I want it to play out... I'll admit, most of the time I think about how I find it likely to play out. I guess the main answer is that I would like it to play out hesitant, with the biggest obstacle being Buck and Eddie's own self-doubts. I don't want them to be in agony over being in love with another guy. Maybe a bit of wondering about how they could have been so oblivious for so long, but I want there to be joy, you know? I want there to be JOY in discovering and embracing all of these warm feelings they have for each other, and to both be in a place in their lives where they've been through enough, have seen enough, know their loved ones well enough to know that the "But he's a man... As are you" part doesn't fucking matter. I want THAT to be the point of this 'slightly older guys fall in love with each other' angle to be. But I still want them to be hesitant over the possibility of losing their friendship.

So I would love for both of them to realize their feelings. Maybe even because of the same event? But they're both too in love and too in need to keep the other one in their lives to risk it, so they both decide to bury it. But step by step, things slip through. They notice things. They're not sure if these things are real or wishful thinking. They start consulting one (!) trusted person. Buck obviously turns to Maddie, the person who knows him the best outside his romantic partner. Eddie turns to Chim, the one friend he has who's more or less in the same place in life as him. Both confidants are sworn to secrecy! Maybe some hilarity ensues. And eventually it's Madney's inability to keep things from each other that brings things to a collision at a family dinner with all four of them there.

And I just... after the comedy bits are done, I just want this silence around the table, and this sense of wonder from both Buck and Eddie when they try to digest that the person that they think is the most incredible one in the world actually feels the same way about them. Like, they're just sitting there, staring at each other, trying to process it. And Madney realize what's going on, so they leave, giving them space to talk. Which they're going to! But when they first try, all awkward, and taking hesitant steps towards each other, they find themselves kissing first, because they have been dying to do that for so long, they're practically parched for it.

TBH, now that I think about it, even though They Played Themselves is a circus AU, and the main catalyst for revelations is Chris, not Madney, the resolution dynamics I described here - that's what I was going for there as well. So yeah, I'd really like that. I don't think the show is likely to give us that, but...

CHARACTERS

Aslan Jade Callenreese - Because of COURSE he is. Plenty of places to read about why that is but just know, he is precious and I know he deserved better.

Shorter Wong - Just a funny lil guy. But to know the walls that would have divided Ash and Shorter which they would have broken down to have such trust and peace between them makes everything that happened that much more devastating.

Eiji Okumura - To paint Eiji as some harmless little cinnamon roll does his character such an injustice. He was gentle but he was fearless and could be fierce and had such a teasing sense of humor. I adore him for who he was to Ash but also because he could be sassy and obstinate.

Jessica Randy - Bad bitch with a gun. Adore her for being just as mean as Ash and not treating him like glass but also being sympathetic in those moments where they really connect.

MOMENTS

Admittedly, I wound up having to stop watching Banana Fish part way through because it was so devastating and I was triggered. ✨ Took a month long break before I finished it and I have not watched it since. It just haunts me. I thought I'd read the manga but haven't brought myself to though I did buy Vol. 19 so I could get some closure.

Ash and Eiji's immediate gravitation toward one another from him just giving Eiji his gun?? and from the way he watched with awe how Eiji pole vaulted over fence and effectively saving them. Such a funny way to set up such an unlikely but perfect pair.

Ash shooting from atop the truck and everyone retreating into the Manhattan? river.. THE WAY SHORTER INSTINCTIVELY GRABBED EIJI?

Ash showing Eiji how to shoot in Connecticut, the way he softened up like they were just kids playing but then immediately had to retreat back to being Ash Lynx when he noticed other people watching.

How, even in his betrayal, Shorter did what he could to protect Eiji while in the mansion.

When they busted Ash out of the mansion, that moment of clarity when he realized Eiji was there for him.

Jack-o-Lanterns.

Every single father son moment Ash had with Max.

The moment Max burned Ash's photos. I could actually bawl right now thinking about it?

Yut Lung's revenge on his brothers.

Ash's triumph over Rick Fox.

CHARACTERS (have a funny way of not making it to the end of the series, huh?)

Levi Ackerman - I think I just like people who are burdened and damned.

Hange Zoe - Their personality did not fit the confines of life behind the walls and yet.. there they were. Brilliant, quirky, compassionate and curious. But eventually carried the weight of the whole world which blotted out their smile.

Sasha Braus, Connie Springer, Jean Kirstein - My favorite trio. From Jean's artistry, to Connie's horrible comedic timing and Sasha's insatiable hunger. Just a recipe for hilarity.

Mikasa Ackerman - Admittedly, she lost her edge and appeal later in the series which is such a shame. I mean, they brought it back for the ending but just feel like her being this OP bad ass could have had a personality consistently to match.

MOMENTS

Attack on Titan had such exquisite exposition. This is definitely a series I always wish I could watch and read for the first time again. From the world building to the fact that, just when you get settled into understanding everything, your perspective on that world is completely rearranged. Now as a veteran watcher, crazy to find all the easter eggs that were hidden in plain sight.

The reveal at Utgard tower + their success in the box - As their first line of defense is fighting against dwindling stamina and dulling blades. Offset by the impossible odds of the newbie squads' success. Devastating.

Flegel Reeves' takes on the MP's - THE REVEAL. Also, what a way to emphasize their corruption in front of those shitty run down buildings. It was such a heart swelling moment.

Levi vs. Kenny in the city - their backstory and the animation of him flitting around and dodging bullets.

Battle at Shinganshina - From Erwin's incredible speech, Connie's awful joke and the difficult decision Levi had to make. SO MUCH. Such a phenomenal succession of chaos, honestly.

THE MARLEYAN REVEAL. Bro, are you kidding me??? With a whole new understanding of oppression and classism within the world.

The scouts experiencing life outside of the walls - Especially the clowns, the cars and the ice cream.

Massacre in Marley - The chaos of the attack on Willy Tybur's play to recapture Eren but also showcase the growth of the Scouts in Paradis and the fact that their freedom still came at the cost of other people who also weren't free.

Sasha Braus' Murderer's reveal - Gabi and Falco finding their way to the Braus' was one thing. But to be turned upon by someone who wanted to help them get back home and the only Maryleyan they met because of Sasha while being spared by her father? What a turning point.

Ymir's origin story and how that devolved into the world her descendants suffer in now.

FINDING OUT EREN WAS BEHIND EVERYTHING!? Even the death of his own mother and the slaughter of the royal family perpetrated by his father. All to engineer a future where he, too, knowingly would be killed. Knowing this and rewatching it just... it was there all along.

ALSO Levi Ackerman's back story from the OVA - man has been suffering since birth.

Recalling all of this makes me want to rewatch AOT again, TBH.

It struck me how funny and strange it would be from the outside looking in that Blair’s best friend and likeliest maid of honor pick and Dan’s best guy friend and likeliest best man pick are each other’s first loves and publicly significant exes, and that just made me wonder what the rest of their wedding party would end up looking like and what sort of bizarro wedding events would be born out of that lol

i guess the dair wedding for me depends on the context and shape of how they get together/what they want their wedding to be. so like, if we're going with canon (up to s5 because I am who I am), where blair had the big blowout white wedding that became a total disaster, I don't see blair much wanting to repeat that pageantry, especially since to her, she really frames her relationship with dan as Different. ("done with fairytales...time to be real again etc") which is why I really just envision them eloping. because they are also very aware of the...ouroboros that is their family & friends & exes so I foresee them choosing just not to fuck with that at all and elope in private.

but, that does open up its own potentials for drama and/or hilarity. Maybe they do ask a couple people. Maybe the only person they feel cool having witness is Nate and/or Dorota. what happens when they have to tell everybody else? I bet Rufus and Eleanor go nuclear. Alison & Harold & Roman are happy/relieved they don't have to worry about a Wedding. Lily's bummed to miss out planning an Event. Serena is amused but also grateful to be spared the mixed feelings of that particular wedding. Jenny and Eric sit in a corner and watch it all go down with popcorn.

but if we're doing a canon divergence that happens prior to Blair's royal wedding.......I don't know. I still think they might avoid the attendants question --- or maybe dan's would be vanessa & jenny and blair's would be serena & nate. I've explored a little of these possibilities in the wedding fic of the miloverse

L3sh, Scybe of Technology.

He's still stoic and very immersed in his world, However now with a new technological theming. He makes sure to have the player learn about the intricate details of the tech they use. He's kinda like a happy old I.T. guy, Using all of his tech to its max potential. Its very early and traditional 60's and 70's era stuff, Whereas P03's was futuristic 80's. He tries to make sure that it can be easily grasped for most however most 60-70's tech is just a mess no matter what. He made all his limbs wires that can extend and compress, Expand and slim. So yes he is tall and muscly but also no bro is bobot he aint got shit. This also applies to his hair that flows all the way down his back but he usually doesn't mess with it, In fact the wires there probably aren't even connected to anything he just thinks they look neat. apart from occasionally oh you know. Tearing people apart to try and 'give them a fair playing ground.' he's normal i swear you guys.

ON P0LRIOD/L3SH X phoe

Yes they are still divorced. The same reasons, L3sh is neglectful at times and Phoe can be an asshole. L3sh can be too logical as well and has a rule of 'If you can, So can I. If I can't, then you'll never.' Which can be really degrading sometimes. He would even consider himself better than Peo at times, If not barely an equal. Leshys capability mixed with P03's cockiness makes an occasional asshole. They probably got divorced bc of L3sh's murder experimentation problems and also going weeks on end ignoring Phoe. Bro just check on your husband please.

Unsure of how he makes cards yet, So heres a few options!

-He makes his cards by taking parts of you and tech-ifying you. Your mind isn't necessarily required, As long as he's got like an eyeball and a leg you're fucked. You get transferred once he's finished by 'rewiring and applyinh new hardware upgrades.'

-He still takes a picture, however. its a literal copier. like a fucking business copier but bigger. You know the ones, that are all chunky and shit and have like only 3 buttons and are barely hanging onto life. then you get sucked into the card. This one might be my favorite out of pure hilarity.

-He consumes you with those wires that act as his hair, And then meticulously rips out the most important/cherished parts of yourself out before turning into a card that exits out of his chest plate. This is the most personal out of the options here. and possibly sexual now that i think about it? Have fun dying i guess

(tennis players often come from wealth, much like f1 drivers — they can also be sponsored, sometimes by their country, but usually only if & while they're successful!!)

if you do well, you start to win, maybe you make money, more likely you're breaking even for a while (or even still losing). if you do REALLY well, then you're looking at more prize money and maybe sponsors, so then you can start making some real money out of this. but yeah it's CRAaaaaaazy how much money tennis players pay to play tennis lol!! it is 10000% a problem for getting underprivileged kids into tennis, there's a reason tennis is so white!

What episode got you invested in the show? Why?

I was pretty interested in the show from the first episode, but I think I was officially invested when I saw Agony of a Witch. I know it's much later, but that was the series' first major turning point, as many major stuff in the season had been building up to this and the next episode and it absolutely delivered. With Lilith's attempts to capture Eda, Eda's curse, Belos' introduction and of course the whole familial relationship between Luz and Eda. The driving force and heart of this episode. Pushing Luz to steal the healing hat and Eda to fight Lilith in one of the most awesome fight scenes I've ever seen, despite the curse flaring up. And those last moments after it takes over, with her saying goodbye to Luz and Luz having to back alone only to find out Eda had prepared with King a whole surprise for her... Titan, that's good angst.

2. Ramble about your favorite character of all time as much as you want. We're listening

Mmmmm, that's a bit tough. This show has a lot of characters I love, but the favorite of all time is a constant change between Luz and Hunter. Luz gets a bit of a bonus though, for also being my highest kin, so let's talk about her!

Luz is amazing! Absolutely amazing! She's an eccentric, wonderful girl who starts out treating the Boiling Isles as her dream magical playground but then grows to actually understand and love it for what it is, along with all the wonderful people she meets there, who she helps grow just as much as they help her. Also, in that firt regard, and combined with the fact that she gets in over her head sometimes, Luz makes mistakes over the course of the show, but isn't afraid to take responsibility for them (sometimes more than she has to) and try to fix them. And watching her grow, with every mistake and every act of kindness, was a truly wonderful journey.

I've mentioned in some other posts, that I have been in her shoes, spending a good chunk of my life in an environment that wasn't kind to me, but then leaving and finding my place somewhere else, so watching her flourish in the Boiling Isles really resonated with me, as did her whole personality. Apart from that, Luz also reminded me of the girl I used to be: an outspoken, loud little weirdo that wouldn't give up until she was sure she and others like her were heard and understood. A part of me that got beaten out before I found my Boiling Isles, and I still sometimes struggle to hold onto. But then I remember Luz and her story. I remember that it's okay to embrace and celebrate being a weirdo, that I don't have to beat myself up and punish myself for making mistakes, that it's okay if I still need time to figure out some stuff about myself and my life. And that there are people who will love me not despite my weirdness, but because of it.

3. Favorite episode? Why? Ramble as much as you'd like.

Thanks to Them! Without a doubt! (I gave in another ask a brief explanation, but since here I have a free pass to ramble, ramble I shall!)

In all honesty I was expecting this episode to feel small and maybe too fast and lacking, wondering how they would fit so much in one episode (screw you disney again!). But everything in it just fit so well! The opening segment was just amazing, giving us a charming montage of the Hexsquad's time in the human realm and I was sure the crew had fun putting it together.

Speaking of the Hexsquad, they were all so so great. Every little interaction they had with each other was an absolute hit, with moments of absolute hilarity like the exploration of Gravesfield, and also lot of heart like Luz and Hunter's moment in the basement of the shack.

As a matter of fact, much like my other favorite episodes in the show, Luz and Hunter were both in a very interesting place in this story, with the first being the worst she's ever been and the second standing in the middle of the best and the worst, constantly going back and forth. It was a great character exploration for them both, seeing them both trying to deal with the aftermath of S2's final events and how the others tried to help them, before...

Before the final act happened and all hell broke loose once again. No matter how many times I watch it, this part of the episode always hits me like a truck. The amazing build up, the creepy atmosphere, the fight scene, Hunter finally standing up to Belos, Flapjack's sacrifice, Luz opening up and the return to the Boiling Isles with Mama Camila this time... If Agony of a Witch is good angst, this is the best angst! (Flapjack's death crushed me tho. I was nearly catatonic after I first watched the episode)

10. What's something you wished would happen? Can be as nonsensical as you'd like.

There are lots of things I could put here (again screw you and your shortening, disney!), but the first thing that came to mind was having the hexsquad be a bit more involved in the finale. I loved the final battle with the owl fam and having Raine there was also great, but I wish the others could be there too. In my opinion, Hunter deserved to give at least a punch in Belos' face. And Amity deserved to see Luz in her Titan form.

15. Favorite antagonist? Why?

The man, the bitch, the legend, Emperor Belos himself. This guy has got to be one of the best villains to ever come out of a work of fiction, and one of my favorite characters in the show.

Now, Belos is a lot of things: a liar, a necromancer, a murderer, an absolutely terrible person, but above all, he's a tragedy. A tragedy of circumstance, but also most of all, of choice. There are parts of his story that explain (big emphasis on that word) why and how he got where he is, like growing up to be a witch hunter and then Caleb, his only family, leaving him for a witch, but he still had multiple chances to get better, like his brother did. And he just made wrong choice after wrong choice, digging himself deeper and deeper, until the little boy that liked playing with his brother was gone and all that was left was a monster made of mud.

Also, backstory aside, Belos is also so good at being a villain. Every time he is on screen, it feels like everything goes still and everyone's on edge. His scenes as Emperor establish how much of a threat he is, not just because he's a powerful magic user, but also because he is in control. Especially in scenes in S2, like the last scene in "Follies at the Coven Day Parade", where the audience and the heroes know he's up to no good and yet everyone else is cheering for him, completely unaware. And that's the thing. Lots of other villains, when in positions of power, use fear to control the people, but Belos aside of that, also uses and twists good things, like unity, to trick them into falling in line.

Which is why I found his last moments so satisfying. When he tries to pull that shit again and trick Luz and give himself some sense of control again and she is just not having it. Not saying him a word and ignoring him completely, thus taking away any power he could have. (The moment needed some more haunting tho, ngl)

Steve/Thor getting together fic where neither of them realized they were into men until they met each other, so Steve goes to Sam and Bucky for help because they're in a happy relationship and maybe they could give him advice/help him out, and Thor goes to Loki and Valkyrie because they're both queer and maybe they can give him advice/help him out, and hilarity ensues because of all the "helpful advice." I would love to write this fic, but I have so much trouble writing Steve, and humor really isn't my strong suit. I have the whole thing plotted out, but I just don't think I'm the right author for it. Alas.

Another SamBucky fake dating fic. Look, the fake dating trope is one of my all time favorites, and SamBucky is my favorite ship. I just want more of these fics because I love them so much.

This is kind of maybe self-indulgent or whatever, but I remember seeing a post somewhere where someone (I cannot for the life of me remember who) said they wanted to write a sequel to "The Promise of Cheesecake and a Decent Wine." I want to read that sequel. I want to know where they would take the story next if they ever did write it. But also I think this is maybe a little bit of a cheap answer because I think if that author wanted to try to co-write a sequel to that fic, I might be willing to give co-writing a shot? Idk, that story feels done to me, but maybe they have a really compelling idea. I'm just really curious about it.

I could keep going for a long long time, but I feel like this is probably a good stopping point before I just start listing every fic in this file lmao.

Takes a moment, but then also figures, that, well... Sun mentioned talking to the landlord more often and a lot about Eclipse, and given the situation, it probably was only a matter of time anyway. This might as well happen style.

"... Half the rent is coming from me."

Now it's on Robin to freeze.

"Sun and I are one animatronic. Little bird, did you ever see me during the day? Or him during the night?"

Robin buffers for a moment, thinking. Comes up blank.

Robin closes their eyes, taking a deep breath and mentally counting to ten.

They take some time, maybe chilling on a roof somewhere, sitting down at some point and Robin kicks at his leg out of spite before sitting back and taking off their mask.

Neither of them are scared, because they also grew closer thanks to how much Dusk shared. They are friends, not just rivals, and no matter what they have that.

Sun gets a very casual reveal too - Moon simply tells him about last night's conversation during the next switch, Y/N already passed out in bed, so it's not a 2 vs 1 situation. Some teasing for sure, but also just amused reminiscing once Sun's shock wears off, and then a seamless transition into "We all know, and we're okay" <3

Just my two cents as an aro, I love gen fic and theres never enough! But relationships that are open to interpretation as qpps, besties, or as romantic can be fun too 😌 especially if the other characters can not figure out whats going on 😆

Honestly, most of the ships I wanna do just because it's cute, I'm focusing on relationships between a community of people and well... romance can happen in the background sometimes, and also adds bits of hilarity here and there

Elesa/Skyla: Elesa pining despite dating still, getting egged on by Emmet (and now Ingo) to just PROPOSE ALREADY YOU BIDOOFUS, getting one-up'ed by Tiny the gianty birdy stealing her GF's attention, etc. Elesa trying to figure is Dawn would mind her stealing her bird. That kind of thing!

Iris/Cilan: SIBLING OWNING. Ingo and Emmet teasing her playfully, her an Cilan turning around to be either sickly cute or bickering like an old married couple, constant jokes after they start dating about if he's dating her or Ingo and Emmet because hero worship and general train-nerding (*giving her shit*"Wait, that was an option?" "....." "...I am dating you.")

Drayden/Clay: FUCKING. HILARIOUS. DADS MARRIED AND NO ONE FUCKING KNOWS IN OVER 30 YEARS. THEY WORK IN THE SAME LEAGUE, RUN IN THE SAME CIRCLES, HAVE SIMILAR INTERESTS, BUT NO. ONE. KNEW. HOW, FATHER?!?!?!? HOW?!?!?! Also, congrats Clay! (Ingo, Emmet, and Iris IMMEDIATELY turning on the parent/child dynamic with Clay, calling him things like 'Pappy', 'Pop-pop', 'New favorite father', etc. and Clay's just staring them down with a blank-to-unamused face but inside he's all sparkles and happiness)

Dawn/Lucas/Barry: 1000000x funnier if Lucas and Barry started dating after Dawn disappeared, now she's back and they have NO CLUE how to tell her, but then also realizing, OH NO OH FUCK they have a crush on her too! And they both think they're like. Betraying the other until they crack and just stare at each other like 😯😯Now they're like OK CAN WE WORK WITH THIS??? but OH NO WHAT IF SHE DOESN'T LIKE US! OR WORSE!!! ONLY LIKES *ONE* OF US!!! So you've got this pair of dramatic boys trying to figure out how to get their BFF into their polycule and Dawn is over here not noticing a DAMN THING.

Until they bungle it and tell her they're dating but forget to like. Ask if she ALSO wants to date them? So now she's over here crying into her Castillacone because her BFFs are dating and she's happy for them but also sad because she missed it and uhhhh oh is she jealous??? All the while Ingo is just like 'Thank the sweet dragons I'm not a teen anymore'. Emmet - 'Cheers to that!' But like, most of it happens in the background while Ingo, Emmet, and Elesa are like ???????? Are the kids okay?????? Why is Dawn texting me sad Skitty pictures??????? Why is Lucas laying down in that puddle????? Barry... Barry's as frantic as usual but it adds up!

Irida and Adaman is funny in that it explains EVERYTHING about Barry in one fell swoop. And Dawn's over here like 'Man, it really was all just courting rituals!' Ingo - 'Let's not go there please'

And really, do I have to explain why the one-sided Melli/Ingo is hilarious in this context?

And if we add in the Pokemon (I'M GETTING TO GALVANTULA AND GLISCOR) it's even worse-slash-better. You've got Lady Sneasler polycule-ing it up with Excadrill and Chandelure in a weird way that works for them while ALSO winning with her horde of Weavile-himbos. And Archeops/Tiny because BIIIIIRDS and boy is Emmet not ready for THAT ONE. Willow and one of the twins Klinklang, forever destroying Dawn's peace because she DOESN'T UNDERSTAND HOW! CALL HER A DAYCARE LADY CUZ IT DON'T MAKE SENSE! The oddity that is Cress and his Basculin/Quilfish combo...

Pokemon breeding is SO FUNNY when you add in trainers that are utterly baffled.

We traveled on for another day, riding from dawn till dusk. Luckily enough I was able to doze off for a couple hours during the second night. Thorin still has yet to assign me or Bilbo to watch duty, but I kind of figured he wouldn't just yet. It is hard to trust a stranger, a faceless one even more so than that.

Gandalf had pulled me aside early on the 2nd morning,

"Do you ever plan on telling the rest of our company your identity?" He spoke softly even though we were far enough away from the others.

I shook my head. "I do not know." I spoke softly in a small whisper. Gandalf let out a big sigh, " Do you ever get tired of it? Of hiding."

" I am not hiding myself." Tightening Hithui's saddle straps. "I am merely trying to avoid the inevitable."

"No one could possibly blamed you for wh-."

"I know that." I turned harshly towards him, " but it doesn't help the way people stare at me either." I lowered my head glancing at the ground between us.. "Besides, I don't care what they think of that, it has more to do with the fact of me, being a woman, I want to prolong them knowing."

Gandalf sighed again as he made his way over to stand by his horse, who was resting near us. "I do agree with the fact that dwarfs might not handle the knowledge of you, being a woman very well, but it has to do more with the fact that there are not many dwarf women around. They have been taught to be protective of them."

"That's not helpful." I let out a small laugh and Gandalf smiled softly.

"However, they are also taught to respect them.” Mounting his horse, he moved closer, speaking softer. “They are fast learners of change ‘L.D’. I say at least give them a chance to react."

And….He was right. It was unfair of me to judge the dwarfs and Bilbo on the actions of past others. Yet, How can I know that? And how can I be sure that they'll keep my secret? I needed to let myself get to know them, yet I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to do that? It harder because I know my voice would give it all away. So after some thought I decided that the only way was to watch them all more closely and learn more through observation then verbal exchange.

I started this morning by riding in the middle of the line, putting myself in the pathways of various conversations. Listening as they all talked to one another, and taking mental notes of each dwarf and hobbit behaviors.

Starting with Bofur, I realized that he could probably out last Fili and Kili when it comes to talking for great lengths and his hilarities. Something I did not think at all possible. He talked nearly the whole day, stopping to only to take puffs out of his pipe. He told great tales and silly stories to literally anyone who would listen.

‘‘If I’m not back in 5 minutes, she called, just wait a little longer.” Behind us, I heard Bifur ask him something in Khuzdul. “Oh No, Bifur I’m afraid, they are still waiting on her.”

After a bit, I noticed a small squeaking noise, turning around I noticed Bifur holding a mechanical toy.

“Tinkers, and Toy-makers.” Balin’s word’s that night came rushing back to me at that moment as my jaw drop slightly in awe.

Noticing my stare, Bifur smiled proudly as he lifted up his work for me to see. It was a small, metal bird and even with the distance between us, I could make out all the small details of feathers in the wings and beast. He pulled on the string that hung down the middle of the bird’s body making the same small squeak, the wings began moving in a flapping motion. Bifur only left out a deep grunt at the noise and moved the toy back, murmuring to himself in Khuzdul again.

"Don't mind him." Spoke Bofur, who seemed to have watched the small encounter. **" He's just a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to his work. Now where was I- Oh Yes! Now that it's been 3 years since she left-.”

As the day continued I found myself stuck in another conversation. Oin and Gloin have probably been talking the entire day too but just mainly to each other so I hadn’t noticed till now.

As I listened in I realized their conversation was on the company’s medical supplies, Oin was concerned that he didn’t pack enough bandages for all the members of the company, having not expected 2 extras to join.

Digging through one of my satchels, I hooked it off Hithui’s saddle bag and I gently ushered her closer to the pair. Once in reaching distance I tapped the older dwarf on the shoulder.

He jumped slightly as he turned sharply in his sandals to look out at me, before he opened his mouth. I held out the small bag to him. Confused, he took it and moved around to take a peek inside.

Gasping softly, he looked back at me “Are you sure?” I nodded and held out my hand towards him and back to my chest in a slight bow.

“No no, Thank you L.D” Oin smiled softly before turning to his confused brother. He pulled out one of the many bandages that I had stored anyway over the years of my travels and smiled broadly.

“This should give us plenty.” Gloin’s eyes widened before looking back at me again, they then softened slightly before he began to crack a smile

“Aye, I guess we have to keep you around now.”

When Thorin finally called it for the night, I took a moment while everyone was setting up camp to check around for any wild game. Grabbing my bow and quiver, I made my way through the thick brush surrounding the brush. Turns out there is plenty of game around, and luckily enough I was able to snag a deer and a couple of rabbits.

I stringged up the rabbits through a rope and shrugged the deer over my shoulders and then started the trek back up towards the group.

When I finally made it back up towards the clearing, Ori noticed me immediately and brought me to the attention of the other’s.

“Mahal's Beam!” he jumped up from his spot “Look at all of that!” All eyes fell upon me as I lowered my head again to make sure my face was still hidden.

“By My Beard” gasped Dwalin as he moved to help carry the rabbits, grabbing them from my hand. “Where did ya get all of that?”

I stepped around him to bring the deer to the middle of the camp. I jokingly pointed over my shoulder at the opening into treeline where I came from. Causing laughter to spread through the group.

Bombur looked up at me even more shocked than Dwalin, once I made my way over to him. He then bends down to examine the deer, fingering the hole on the deer’s side.

"Well will you look at that! Now that's a deer." he spoke in a low baritone voice.

"Aye laddie that deer must weigh at least 2 of you!" cheered Bofur. The buck was one of the bigger ones I saw in the herd, a 5 point and from the ache in my back I have to say it was at least 67kgs. To express this I placed a hand down on his shoulder before holding my back with the other.

Now everyone tought that was hilarious, I even caught Bilbo chuckling to himself in the corner next to Gandalf. dipped my head in a shy attempt of brushing off their attention before I went to pull out my dagger to start skinning process for the rabbits.

"Oh, no, no! You have done more than enough for us, we can manage that at the very least." The older dwarf said assuredly while patting the smooth belly of the deer again.

I smiled before I dipped my head again in thanks, before heading back over to I laid some of my stuff out before I left, just on the edge of the camp, I was just close enough and just far enough away from all the others.

And while I watched them all go back to their destinated spots, I realized for the first time since leaving for the Shire, I started to feel relaxed.

Off to the side I heard Gandalf speak proudly to the others. "See! I told you there was more to our dear, L.D than meets the eye" I just happened to look over in time to meet his gaze. Winking at me, I could let out a small smile and shake my head at him.

At dinner, I was shot with even more thank you’s, and compliments. It was nice having them all thank me for such an easy thing. I have hunted plenty for myself and others and none of them have shown me such gratitude before.

"You did good, Cloak"

I was so deep in my thoughts and the food, that I didn't even realize who spoke till I saw the small smiles and side eyes from the others. Thorin was standing next to Bombur as the dwarf filled his bowl. He nodded back at me when I looked at him. Giving him a quick nod of acknowledgement, I had to look away.

The next morning, everyone was in a far more cheery mood with all their bellies still full from the night before, and for the rest that got divided up for breakfast. I was surprised that none of them have fallen into a food enhanced deep sleep yet.

Today, I seemed to have been granted the opportunity to ride up closer to the front next to Balin. The old dwarf was clearly a kind one, as he offered up nothing more than caring words and simple small talk as we traveled along. Seeing as I could only nod and shake my head in response he never seemed upset by the silence. Dwalin, who rode out in front of us, even joined in ever so often into our limited conversation.

Even the cheery mood seemed to have reached Thorin, for smiled over his shoulder as he called for an early camp. As I dismounted Hithui, handing her off to a smiling Ori, I noticed a small burned down farmhouse that stood up on the hill. Gandalf noticed to and gestured for me to follow, I followed behind as he entered what seemed to be the doorway.

"A farmer and his family lived here." he whispered softly, I went to move my hand across one of the sooty planks of woods, it was still slightly warm to the touch.

"This place was only burned down yesterday," I whispered to Gandalf, as I showed him the ash on my fingers.

The old wizard turned to the company, who was busy setting up camp. "I think it best if we keep moving. The Hidden Valley is near-" he was quickly cut off by Thorin.

"I refuse to set foot in there," he growled .Frankly I didn’t want to go to Rivendell either but it was a good idea. I was shocked by how quick his reply was to Gandalf’s request.

Gandalf glared back . "I did not give you that map and key to-"

"I did not know they were yours to keep," Thorin snapped, glaring back at the wizard and that was the end of the discussion.

Gandalf huffed angrily to himself and he turned to head back back the path towards his horse. Bilbo looked up as he passed. "What's wrong? Gandalf? Where are you going?"

"To be alone with the only person who has sense in this company." he barked back angrily, Bilbo seeming shocked by Gandalf's harsh tone involuntarily took 2 steps back.

"Who?” the hobbit squeaked

"Myself, Mr. Baggins." With that I watched as my old friend and the only one who knew who I was ride away.

"Gloin, get a fire going," Thorin commanded, still very clearly irritated. I turned to face hi., just in time to see him turn to me. I threw my hands up in mock-surrendhim. I didn't want to be involved and moved to walk back down the hill towards the others. I heard him take a deep breath before he spoke.

“I didn’t mean to run him off.” Turning back to him, I nodded my head in an understanding, his shoulders shagged. Continuing back down the hill I moved to take my spot at the edge of the camp circle. Untucking my bedroll, I went ahead and laid down, looking up toward the sky just as the golden hour began to hit.

Random thoughts on Vice Versa ep 5

I always find it a bit odd to not see the continuation of a dramatic end of a previous ep when a new ep starts, so I was glad we finally got a flashback of what happened after the kiss. And I was glad that Talay pushed Puen away, asking for an explanation. Not that it was a great answer from Puen though. Folks, don't just kiss someone because you 'felt like it' - make sure the other person wants to be kissed too!

But...Puen's FACE after asking if Talay wants to try kissing again. I mean, if he looked at me like that whilst moving closer to my face I would have squished my lips to his without hesitation.

And I loved another moment of Flustered!Puen in the bookshop. And it was great that Talay finally addressed Puen's withholding of his identity and showed his displeasure. Maybe it will be quite a poignant scene when Puen finally reveals it...

I feel slightly pleased that we found out that Talay is somewhat older than Puen...because that's how I'd read them to be (as mentioned in the tags of this post).

During the conversation in the car, I couldn't help thinking about how even though they're getting closer to each other, and having these lingering looks at each other, they're still looking at the wrong bodies/faces. It just feels odd.

I laughed a lot this ep...all in good ways...but the snow? Such hilarity! They did well with it because honestly that must have been so hard in that climate but kudos to the production team to still commit to including it in that universe.

So Talay doesn't like hugging, eh? Well, let's see if that comes back as a thing at the end - maybe he gladly and greedily hugs Puen at the end when they finally find each other again in their home universe...

And then we got a 'reality check' with the older male character - the universe/body swap really does fuck up people's lives. I hope this isn't some kind of foreshadowing of how Tess and Tun are fucking up Talay and Puen's lives in the other universe. It will be so interesting to see what their lives have developed into when they go back.

But honestly, Talay and Puen are so cute together!

I'm so glad I was home alone when I watched this ep because the way I YELLED when Gun came on the screen. I had to pause the video to recover.

The series/storyline seems to be moving quicker than I anticipated - I thought the scriptwriting and film-making would take the whole series but suddenly the film was premiering and it was all done...so we don't really know where the plot is going to go from here. As @thequeenofsastiel also said, there's no real storyline... We know that the group will get back together to write some more/another script from the trailer...and we're getting the roommates/there's-only-one-bed! trope..and there'll be some angsty scenes, a separation of some sorts, and a reconciliation in the home universe...but that's it. A lot is unknown for the next 7 eps and I'm feeling apprehensive about this.
