they also forget that lrb&r took place in the 90s where making something like that was like the coolest shit. ‘holy fuck that girls got a camera let’s go wild’ was a majority of their joy in making something all together
anyways love the game and love this post
The idea that people will take the cringy lyrics or singing as a point against Lost Records is just... baffling to me. These are TEENAGERS. Making things they enjoy. Of course adults will look at those things and think they're not good. That's the point! They're doing things for themselves, and getting carried away with their passion for it. They make a shoddy music video and it's the coolest thing to them because it's something they made. They're loud and obnoxious and chaotic because that's what being a teenager is about. They don't have proper technique or whatever, they're just making music to scream all the confusing feelings and frustrations they hold inside them. The music being "bad" or "cringy" IS the point.

If the girls played D&D! Technically they’d be playing 2nd edition and classes and races were different, but I also didn’t want to limit them 🤷‍♀️
God, I feel like I can hear them at the table. (Mostly Nora asking if she can roll with advantage every time she rolls anything…)

Bruh, can I just say how nice it is to see teenage game characters with like actual acne and blemished skin? Because damn, I hate living in the era of skin smoothing filters on everything.

💜I got a theory about lost records bloom and rage💜
So I think something maybe happens to swann’s face that leaves a scar! That’s maybe why we have yet to see adult swanns face as of tape 1
Tumblr media
When they are playing the music video they made and the power goes crazy everyone’s face gets hit with the light but swann only has a part of her face hit
Tumblr media
(Sorry for the bad photo it happens quick)
But that’s my theory on why we haven’t see adult swann because something is gonna happen in the next few tapes that will physically scar her
What do you think? 🤔

Illustration below the cut.
I have a couple more Lost Records pieces planned too. All of which will be spoiler tagged as and when needed.

The “Witching Hour in the Woods” / moonlit moths scene heavily inspired this piece.

Felice Kuan, the Deck Nine narrative director put out her thoughts on the layoffs that just happened at D9. And I think a lot of people owe the narrative team an apology because it sounds like a lot of DE’s story was dictated by above, not by the narrative team. Felice Kuan and her team never deserved your anger.
Her full thoughts below:
“After the bittersweetness of launching #LifeisStrangeDoubleExposure without most of the narrative team, it feels fitting that we are finally united on the other side. (1/9)
I adore LiS: Double Exposure and the opportunity it gave us to tell stories we hadn’t seen before.
For me, LiS: DE is encapsulated by one moment in particular that came from no other source but us. (2/9)
<SPOILERS for DE>
It’s at the beginning of Chapter 5, when Max realizes she’s being put through the same fate again, being asked once again to either take the life of a marginalized woman or feel guilty for letting her live.
And she says no.
</SPOILERS> (3/9)
LiS:DE is about marginalized creatives fighting to keep their jobs within an institution that cares more about covering up scandal and finding scapegoats.
If you take one message from our game, let it be that you may need supernatural powers to change the status quo. (4/9)
In LiS: DE, we gave a queer woman the ability to refuse an untenable situation and shape it into a better one.
May Max be an inspiration to all of us. (5/9)
When I look back at the moments in the LiS franchise I’ve been most proud to write, I notice they’re all about the meaning two people can bring to each others’ lives. I am so grateful for the people who have been with me on this journey, that I still have today. (6/9)
The most brilliant and principled narrative leads in the world: Deandra Warrick, Mallory Littleton, and Aysha U. Farah.
My incredible writers and narrative designers: Andy Auseon, Elizabeth Ballou, Giselle Francis, Zipporah Smith, and James F. Wright. (7/9)
Philip Lawrence and Izzy Jagan, who fought for us on the other side of the world, and the folks still at D9 giving their all to the next project.
But most especially Jonathan Stauder, who will undoubtedly ascend to a higher plane for all the hits he has taken for others. (8/9)
Thank you, #LifeisStrange fans, for all of your love, support, and passion these last eight years. I believe games can change lives, and I know you do, too. 💙
73 days until @PlayLostRecords! (9/9)”
