(Malarkey about Speirs) He liked me a lot, but I wasn't quite what he was. Our nickname for Speirs was 'killer Speirs'. It's a fact of life, you know, that his job was to get rid of Germans and he didn't care where they were.
The interviewer asked whether the stories about Speirs are true and Don said that "the stories basically about him are true.".
Also, Don talks about the banquet Speirs threw for the German doctor who operated on Grant, and about his high-school best friend coming to see Don who Speirs invited to have lunch with him and let him take Don to Salzburg. And mentions that senator? "Speirs policy was that nobody could sit down to do a thing until he arrived".

Guide for the recent BoB fandom information explosion
Essentially, the US Army and Heritage Education Center possesses a vast collection of materials related to Dick Winters, which served as the original source for writing the book Band of Brothers and for the production of the TV series. This includes a huge amount of photocopies of Winters' personal papers and personnel documents; photocopies of correspondence, memoirs, news clippings, oral history transcripts, and photographs from the men in Easy Company.
There are a total of 20 boxes, containing 100+ PDF documents that can be read online, involving most of the E Company soldiers whose names we can recognize.
These materials may have been on the internet for many years, but no one paid attention until very recently.
Here are some notable files among these materials: The complete catalog of the Dick Winters collection

The first time I saw Skip Muck’s grave at the Luxembourg American Cemetery and Memorial, I just stood there and felt numb. I was with Dick Winters and Carwood Lipton, on a trip led by Stephen Ambrose. It was 1991. No tears. In fact, there’s a photo of three of us old vets standing at his grave and we’re all looking resolute. Soldiers, you know, posing for a picture taken by a historian who admired the hell out of us. I returned there in 2004 and remembered how when Roe asked if I wanted to see Skip, I’d said no. And when Winters asked if I wanted a break, I’d said no. I realized that since those moments, I’d grieved for everybody I’d lost except for one man, the man whose death I’d tried for decades to run away from, the man whose loss had hit me harder than all the rest. How many times had I looked at that 1942 photo of all of us at Toccoa, the one I’d written all the KIAs and SWAs on for those killed and seriously wounded, and thought, Why not me? Why no initials on my chest? Why not at Brécourt Manor, when I’d stupidly gone after what I thought was a Luger on that dead soldier? Or at Hell’s Corner, when German soldiers had our patrol outnumbered eight to three but wrongly assumed we had more firepower and surrendered to us? Or at Bastogne? If Winters hadn’t split Skip and me up, that would probably have been me, not Penkala, in that foxhole with Skip on January 9, 1944. But even if I’ve played the what-if game often, I know, deep down, that you can never win at it. Better to remember that, for whatever reason—God or fate or reading a Reader’s Digest article about paratroopers on a Greyhound bus heading for Astoria—I was privileged to serve with a company of men who would make me far more than I would have been without them. And that losing one of those men had hurt so badly that I’d buried the thought of him, thinking that somehow that would help me avoid the pain. Better, I’ve since learned, to turn into those waves and dive. So on that day in 2004 when I visited the cemetery where Skip is buried, I looked at that white marble cross and that name—Sgt. Warren H. Muck—and thought of the kid who swam the Niagara. The march to Atlanta. The smile. I knelt, placed flowers at the base of that cross. Prayed. All the things I’d done before when I’d come to see his grave. Only this time I did something different, long overdue, and hard but freeing. I cried sixty years’ worth of tears.

Richard Speight Jr (Skip Muck) Owen Ross Interview: Funny moments/anecdotes.
Boot Camp:
He "spent every waking moment" with Scott Grimes (Malarkey).
Dale Dye chewed out the whole battalion for reporting their injuries to production. Richard turned to Scott during this and said "Man Captain Dye is really getting it from the rear." (This was his favourite memory from boot camp) (Dye always referred to the production team as the rear or battalion HQ.)
Still calls Peter Youngblood "Shifty".
Filming:
The actors did all there own stunts. The mortar squad actually set up the morters on set.
The Crossroads scene in Holland, where Skip hits Penkala with a spoon, wasn't scripted. "Me just bugging the living crap out of Tim Matthews." (I don't remember this scene: my sign to rewatched the series)
The celebration after they received their jump wings was originally longer. (They need to release all these deleted scenes).
They dressed in a tent every morning and marched down to set like soliders.
"Nine months into the thing no one knew who the hell they were."
The Parasites
Micheal Cudlitz didn't lie. Richard got a parasite infection TWICE. He described the set as "not the cleanest environment."
Noel Hemmings (Charles Grant) also got the famous parasites.
Richard said he lost so much weight filming that when he returned home his friends assumed he'd developed a "heroin habit."
I paused to laugh at this:
Eion Bailey (Webster) lit his jump boots on fire after filming. (This has to be the most David Webster thing I have ever heard. The Dramatics.)
Since the show:
He still meets up with Scott Grimes and Tim Matthews.
He got to keep his whole costume. (I think he deserved it)
He's only ever watched the series once. "Was so emotionally intense."
Honestly, I feel like all the actors are mildly traumatised. It honestly sounds so intense and then the pressure of portraying an actual person as well.

Forever Young
Alex Penkala and Warren "Skip" Muck, died today (10 January 1945)
You have to understand that it took me nearly forty years before I could look at our 1942 company picture and not break into tears, particularly if it was December or January. Donald Malarkey in remembering Skip Muck (from Easy Company Soldier : The Legendary Battles of Sergeant From World War II's "Band of Brothers")
Referenced Deltapork's art, but they deleted their Twitter. So if you know it you know
