I think I stopped considering Johann as a selfsona as soon as I began adding lore to him (idk if some people actually add lore to their self-inserts I just don't consider it's like my self-insert anymore because of it lol) some parts of him are still me in a sense but that could be true for all my characters as well. One of the biggest compliments I've received is telling me I actually made dom yans that are appealing to people who aren't really into them. Sometimes I feel it's really hard to make a dom character without making it cringy or saying cringy stuff (Sadly, I have seen my fair share of booktok mafia fics), so I'm glad you think they're good anon.

I have a genuine question being Aroace but I'm afraid to ask and my headcanon will go to waste.

But KMKY's Ford always seemed to be at least in some way the aroace look (being demi or gray that is), did you do it out of want, in the idea of looking, or is it just part of the character and you never thought of yourself in a sexuality for him?

I myself am demisexual so I definitely think some of that perspective leeched into how I write Ford. Because my own experience informed how I wrote him, little things like being kind of oblivious/frustrated when strangers flirt with him (the hand witch or the girl from college who worked in the aquarium with the legwarmers lmao) because they don't know him!!! So how dare they!!! Lmao, falling for Bill's mind first since it didn't really matter that he was a shape or a muse or whatever, the rest would work itself out, feeling seen and only crushing initially because it seemed like his mind was being appreciated first and foremost, and treating their sex life like an experiment/engaging with the kinks/power plays inherent rather than just going through the motions (because kink makes more sense sometimes than just some undefined biological urge that you're supposed to have but no one can explain it to you, yet it's perfectly understandable to go 'oh they like feeling powerless as a powerful being I understand that perfectly, now how can I get creative with it'.)

I definitely think he wanted romantic attention from Bill, and wanted to be valued romantically (hence going on a date with Susan and Cathy Crenshaw) but the idea of getting romantic attention from a stranger is unappealing (hence why he was so reluctant to go on the date with Susan) and wanted the sort of holistic acceptance that comes with ideas of romance (because then his polydactylism will be accepted along with his unique mind) but the traditional trappings of romantic relationships aren't that appealing (was worried that he would have to engage in gay culture/grow a moustache and have a makeover to be in this relationship ECT). Bill was great for him BC he accepted and actively sought out all of Ford's weirdness and the dark bits you're ashamed to show, and then got freaky with them lmao. And there's no way to cement a bond quicker than to show someone your most vulnerable parts and have them accept those things unconditionally. Turning shame into dependence right there. That truly is the no one knows you like I do trap, and that shit feels inescapable.

Because of my own experience I know that you can be demisexual and still have a preference for gender or looks, hence why he built the "flattering vessel" for Bill to not only be flattering by beauty standards in general but also subconsciously to be exactly what Ford found attractive. The kicker is that personality means more than good looks, so when Bill inhabited the body in a different way than Stanford expected but he still found his personality all the more fascinating because of it, that was probably what cinched his feelings BC he got to know more about Bill's weirdness and see how it matched his own.

I am giving you a big virtual hug anon BC no head canon is ever wasted, how you engage with a story you like is important and you deserve to feel seen and heard when you engage in content you like. If I can go some way towards making the fandom of this fic a safe welcoming place it's my privilege to do so as a writer!

Thinking about Price introducing his husband to the team and when he first mentions you they can’t help but imagine a cardboard copy of Price, basically an old army dude or something else in that vein

But when you show up you look the complete opposite to what they had expected covered in tattoos and decked out in piercings. Soap and Gaz have to do their best to cover up their surprised faces while Ghost is just thankful he’s wearing a mask.

When all of you sit down and get to talking 141 end up getting some intel on the life Price had lived before he met them, finding out the man had his fair share of tattoos under all that clothing and piercings holes that had closed up before he’d met any of them.

You’d been his tattoo artist back in the day, had met him when he stumbled into your shop drunk off his ass. At first you had rejected his wish of getting a tattoo, telling him to prove he’s not drunk by spelling out his name to you which had only resulted in you calling him a taxi to drive him back home while uttering the words “goodbye Jan”

He had woken up the next morning with a number written on the palm of his hand and the words “not a tattoo but call me if you actually want one” scribbled on his wrist.

He hadn’t thought of calling you at first, the embarrassment was too much to stomach but faith had other plans and he ends up meeting you again in some dimly bar close to base. He hadn’t recognized you when he first asked you on a date but you had happily accepted to see “Jan” again and joked that this might also be his chance to get the tattoo he wanted.

Years later and you two are sitting on the couch on base talking with 141, while wearing matching wedding bands and you couldn’t be any happier than you are right now.

Although Price has mellowed down a lot since his younger years he’ll never give up the pleasure of blowing his husband while you’re behind the wheel.

I love your interpretations of Jayce and Viktor, so in your expert opinion, which is the best way that they first get together?

A- they're adults about it and one asks the other out for supper (yeah right)

B- after months/years of pining, one breaks spectacularly and kisses the other without warning

C- the sexual tension gets so palpable they both break at the same time and throw themselves at each other like horny wild animals

D- one has a function brain cell and decides to blantantky seduce the other, results vary

When I started my Our Hextech Dream series, I had Jayce make the first move. And while I love how I wrote it, with Jayce unable to keep his hands off of Viktor, if I had to go back and write it again, I think I might change things up. I think Jayce would be head over heels infatuated, but terrified to make a move. He’s unsure, he thinks maybe he’s misinterpreting Viktor’s signals (when in reality a bomb would be more subtle than Viktor’s ‘signals.’) He values what they have, their camaraderie and working relationship; they flow so well together, it’s like their minds are connected. They finish each other’s sandwiches sentences, they move around each other in the lab like a practiced waltz. And Jayce doesn’t want to ruin that, doesn’t want to risk the beautiful synergy they already have.

Meanwhile Viktor is very aware of Jayce’s attraction, can see him staring out the corner of his eye, can note the way Jayce’s breath catches when Viktor softly speaks his name. He’s noticed the lingering touches, the lingering gazes, and on more than one occasion, Jayce biting his lip when Viktor speaks in his mother tongue. He knows, but he’s unsure as well—why hasn’t Jayce acted? Yes, such a thing could complicate their work on Hextech, but clearly Jayce’s feelings are getting in the way of that anyway; he’s making more errors, fumbling more calculations, and all because he’s so busy gazing at Viktor like he hung the stars.

So Viktor decides to lay it on thick—throwing everything he’s got at Jayce in an attempt to make him break, make him finally admit. He initiates an assault of playful physical touches, starts using endearments in their conversations. And he gets a sickly sweet satisfaction from watching as these things slowly drive Jayce mad with want…

Yet still he doesn’t break. So Viktor starts getting frustrated too, takes it as a personal challenge. And one day it all comes to a head. Jayce is already frazzled, as Viktor had called him darling when he’d brought over two steaming mugs of coffee. And when he’d reached out to offer Viktor one of the mugs, Viktor paused to cup his hand, soothing his thumb back and forth over Jayce’s knuckles in a gesture of gratitude and offering up what he knows to be one of his most devilishly coy smiles. Jayce loses his breath like he’s been shot, but instead of saying anything, he just turns for the chalkboard and begins hurriedly erasing their work from the previous day. He mumbles about whatever project they’re working on, but clearly he’s distracted and anxious—he keeps losing his train of thought and his hands tremble so badly that he ends up breaking the stick of chalk in half in his fervor.

And that’s it, that’s all Viktor can take.

He grumbles a painfully fond “you idiot,” and storms over, hardly slowing the momentum of his body before crashing against Jayce and slamming their lips together.

Jayce lets out a squeak of surprise into Viktor’s mouth, but instantly gives in—that shock turning to wanton, pitiful need that rumbles as a low whimper in his throat. Viktor isn’t sure how long they stay like this, lips claiming lips and tongues claiming tongues, but by the time they separate he’s breathless and dizzy. And Jayce appears equally affected—a dopey grin on his face and a wobble in his knees.

“You are impossible,” Viktor barks, shaking his head in disbelief. “I’ve been trying to get you to do that for months.”

Ugghhh what a fun ask. Would love to hear how everyone else thinks it would go down!
