Peeta Mellark is an integral member of the four D12 victors. He is literally the sunset on the reaping! How is this not clear? I’ve never wanted to report people for bad literary analysis more and I’m only half joking. It has forced me to commit a cardinal sin: analyze in anger!
1. Him being chosen by absolute accident is the point. Not only does he represent every single other tribute who simply gets chosen because they live in a messed up country but he represents how even with some odds being in your favor (older siblings, merchant family, being white, being popular, etc.) you are still very likely to be victimized by the oppressive structure of Panem.
2. When Haymitch says, “But she was smarter than me, or luckier” - the luck is all the people around Katniss who created the circumstances for her to lead a successful revolution (her father teaching her to hunt, the arena having woods, Rue healing her with leaves, Thresh not killing her, Haymitch consistently giving her support, her mother teaching her aspects of medicine, on and on and on) and Peeta is the number one, most important part of her luck in the first book. She has someone in the games actively putting her life before his… are you kidding? There is legitimately no better luck than that.
3. Even if we take Katniss out of it, Peeta is so impactful as a victor because most of his scenes would not be cut/doctored. What’s there to edit out? Instead, the viewers get a full view of him loving a girl so selflessly, using trickery and strategy instead of violence, keeping himself alive through art, joking on literal death’s door, and sharing so much of himself with the audience it becomes harder for them not to see him as a real human boy. How rare do you think that is for the games? Haymitch and LGB are caricatures of themselves in the games, playing roles that flatten them down. Even Katniss becomes one dimensional on screen without Peeta (and Rue, of course). It is also heavily implied that he does not kill anyone during the games (in a straightforward way) and even if you count Cato or the girl from 8 or even foxface, it’s never him hunting them or seeking out a kill - again how rare do you think that is to see on screen for Games viewers?
4. I didn’t think this needed to be said but: Katniss dies without Peeta in the first games. a) she goes for the bow and dies in the bloodbath; b) she is hunted and killed by Careers; c) she is killed by game makers because there’s no love story angle to keep them from just burning her entirely; d) she dies from tracker jacker stings or Cato because Peeta doesn’t defend her or tell her to run… I could go on…
5. But even if she does win and wins alone - the victory means as much (I would argue less than) any other rebellious victor winning, certainly less than Haymitch’s win. The biggest rebellion for their games is that two of them win! This is legit the only thing that distinguishes them from any other sympathetic, kind child who would have won the games. Like if Haymitch or Finnick or Wiress winning isn’t jarring enough for the Games to end… why do you think Katniss killing Peeta and winning solo would be? It would not.
6. And finally, I cannot stress this enough: There is no peaceful end to the rebellion or the trilogy without Peeta. “Peeta’s a whiz with fires” (HG) for a reason! Collins, over and over, shows us how fire can get out of control and destroy even those who are innocent and who you love (Gale, Beete, Peeta’s family, Haymitch’s family). If everyone really burns, there’s no one to clean the ashes. The reason not everyone burns is because of people like Peeta who can coax the flames in a way that is nurturing and consistent. I mean…. “Peeta fashioned some kind of incubator” is such an obvious detail. Those goslings don’t hatch without Peeta, life does not go on in peace and joy without Peeta.
It is no coincidence that when Maysilee says Lenore Dove got the “jump on us all” (in being a rebel), she is referring to LD using orange paint to make protest art!
We must stop pushing Peeta Mellark out of the narrative! He is literally the sunset on the reaping!

Mark Grayson has always liked you.
It was the first day of school, 2nd grade homeroom. The first day of school was always nerve wracking but this time was different.
His desk was next to you per the seating chart and you were the last kid to come in.
You were wearing a black t-shirt with some white bows on it and sky blue jeans with pink flowers embroidered on the pockets. White twinkle toes with pink and purple rhinestones. Your hair was styled in 2 ponytails with cute bows on the bands.
Your eyes bright and a shy smile on your lips.
“Hi.” You bashfully said to him.
“Hi.” He said back in a daze.
His seven year old heart was fluttering and he was as red as a tomato when he realized it was you! You were the girl whose empty desk he was seated next to!
You always shared homeroom, if not, recess with him in elementary school.
Then came middle school, where you had at least 2 classes with him.
High school was a bit easier as you saw him 3-4 times a day, and that’s not including clubs or other extracurricular activities.
He spent 11 years like that. Seeing you in class, in the hallways, at lunch or after school.
Your relationship with him never wavered. Your character was still the same even after new chapters and opportunities for development.
He’s endured some insane shit, but he’s so happy the one constant in his life remained consistent.
Tumblr media
“You still have a crush on her?!”
“Shut up, William. Or do you want the whole world to know.” Mark chides.
William snorts like it’s the most obvious thing in the world (it is). “The whole world already knows, it’s just your dumbass that’s somehow oblivious.”
“Give the lover boy a break.” Amber lightly teases.
Mark sighs and rubs his face with his hands, trying to hide the redness creeping up on him without his consent.
“Is that her?” Rick points towards Mark’s dream girl.
But what he forgot to mention was the living explosion (literally) walking alongside you.
“What’s he doing here?” Eve’s surprised Rex decided to step foot on college campus willingly.
William subtly side-eyes Mark and makes a desperate attempt to hold in his laughter by squeezing Rick’s hand.
Mark slowly stands, a confused look on his face. “I’ll… go find out.” He says it like a question, like he’s unsure if that’s what he should do.
Amber and Eve share a knowing look.
“You’re funny.” You say as you catch your breath.
Rex shrugs nonchalantly and smirks. “Yeah, I get that a lot.”
You’re shaking your head and are about to say something when you see Mark in front of you.
“Mark.” Your eyes crinkle as you smile. You go in for your usual hug and Mark accepts it.
Unbeknownst to you that he’s making wide eyes among other facial expressions in a desperate attempt to make contact with the other male.
The hug lasts for a second longer and you ignore the butterflies that swarm your belly, deducing that he probably just wanted to hug you a bit longer.
No big deal you think as you’re screaming inside the longer you feel Mark’s arms around your waist.
When you meet Mark’s face, he allows himself to give you a tight-lipped smile.
“Mark, this is—”
“Rex! Heyy, how’s it going?” He chuckles nervously and rubs the back of his neck.
Your eyebrows furrow and you tilt your head a bit. “Yeah… wait, you guys know each other?”
Rex is enthusiast with his reply. “Fuck yeah! This is my best bro.”
He slaps Mark’s back with a confident grin and his “bro” laughs awkwardly.
You know, one of those ‘ha ha ha’ type laughs.
“Okay. So, um, Mark?”
“Yeah?” Aaand his voice cracks.
You politely ignore it but Mark wants to die inside.
“I was wondering if you were still down to go to the mall?”
Mark knows you’re attentive and take your friendships seriously. That isn’t old news. But he can’t help feeling special that’s you remembered a thought from a couple days prior.
“Only if you buy me boba.”
Mark never lets you buy him anything if he can help it, and that’s how it’s always been.
You insist, he denies; but that doesn’t mean his sentiment isn’t nice.
You blink and softly smile at his bargain. “Deal.”
Rex hums thoughtfully, a hand at his chin and his gaze on the sky. “Can I join? I don’t have anything going onnn~” He suggests in a sing-song manner.
“No, you can’t!” Mark suddenly yells.
You look at Mark with furrowed brows. “Mark, don’t be rude.”
“Yeah, Mark, don’t be rude.” Rex repeats with a sly expression.
Mark deeply exhales through his nose and puts on a fake smile. “Rex, can I talk to you? Alone.”
“Sure!”
He follows Mark about 15 steps away from you.
You decide to sit down on a bench nearby and watch some TikTok to pass the time.
“Hey, so, um- quick question: what the hell are you doing here?”
Rex scoffs. “What, I can’t come visit my bro?”
Mark quirks an eyebrow and crosses his arms, unimpressed.
Rex puts his hands up in surrender. “Fine, fine. I’ll be honest. I was here to talk to you about Cecil,” He looks over at you and sighs dramatically.
“But?” Mark presses when he sees Rex eyeing you.
“I see a hot girl and I can’t help myself, you know?” He smirks knowing he’ll rile Mark up and get the exact reaction he wants.
Mark immediately gets in his line of sight, making Rex back up a bit from the fast and unforgiving wind.
“Woah, man! A little warning next time before you almost blow me away?”
Mark ignores him. “Don’t call her that.”
The truth is, Rex came to campus with a purpose.
Mark never talks about you, but Eve may have let your name slip into conversation a few times.
Rex may be aloof and jerk-ish but he’ll be serious when it’s time.
He’s seen the way Mark’s face changed every time Eve mentioned you; his head would tilt slightly, he’d have a small, unnoticeable smile on his lips.
Rex suspected a crush and he was right! Of course he was, look at the way he’s being defensive of you.
There was just one problem, he didn’t know how you looked. He asked Eve and she was suspicious, but when he revealed his own suspicions, she indulged him.
So, the two of them made a plan with Amber, William and Rick; Operation: Get Mark To Man Up and Admit His Feelings Before You Slip Away.
- FLASHBACK -
“She’s wearing a PINK t-shirt with ripped blue jeans. Oh, and a black backpack.” William directs.
“Pink shirt, black backpack, ripped blue jeans. Got it.”
“PINK as in the brand, not the color.” Amber reminds.
“Wait, what? So what color is the shirt?”
“I’m pretty sure it’s dark green..? And the logo is an even darker shade. ” Eve remembers.
Rex is so unimpressed.
“So, let me get this straight; she’s wearing a shirt from the brand PINK, but it’s just dark green?”
“I’d say you’re on the right track.” Rick chimes.
“This shit is ridiculous. I mean, seriously. Why can’t you girls just wear stuff that warrant normal descriptions?”
“Shut up, Rex.” Amber and Eve say simultaneously.
- FLASH FORWARD -
“Alright, her unwanted, meddling knight in shining armor.”
Mark is about to defend himself against that true baseless allegation when William and Rick find him.
“What’re we gossiping about?” There’s a glint in William’s eyes, the kind you don’t miss if you’re paying attention to the very specific lilt in his tone.
“Oh, I was just telling Marky boy here,”
Mark side-eyes Rex at the ridiculous nickname.
“How he’s Y/n’s unwanted, meddling knight in shining armor.”
William claps his hands together. “That’s actually an accurate assessment.”
Mark’s offended. “Whose side are you on, anyway?”
Rick clears his throat as a guise to hide the very subtle laugh itching his throat.
“Sassy.” William says impressed in his best friends comeback skills.
Rex gets a phone call and excuses himself, giving William a crisp high-five and Rick a chest bump.
“Go get your Juliet, Romeo!” He cheers.
William shakes his head as he guffaws at the man.
“Dude, he's hilarious. How come you've never introduced him to us before?”
“Do I really have to answer that?”
William rolls his eyes at him. “Anyways. When are you gonna tell Y/n you love her, again?”
“William!” Mark whines.
Rick smiles and expands his thinking. “He meant to say, you should tell her soon. Before she's with someone else and leaves you to collect the pieces of your broken heart.”
“Not gonna lie, that's exactly what he needs to hear right now.”
Mark can't lie either. “Yeah. You kinda ate with that.”
William cringes and Rick winces with embarrassment.
“Hey! So, uhh, never say that again. Hope this helps.” William makes a finger heart.
“Wha- but I used the phrase correctly! Oh, come on guys, seriously?”
- MEANWHILE, WITH AMBER & EVE -
Amber and Eve thought it’d be a good idea to have a quick chat with you while you were waiting on Mark.
They casually brought up relationships and basically implied that ‘men ain’t shit’, but you disagree with that attitude.
“I dunno... Mark’s a good guy.”
“Oh yeah, for sure! Mark’s one of the good ones.”
Eve nods along to Amber’s statement.
She reminisced on her fair share with toxic relationships. She deliberately left out how it was with Rex but that’s okay, you don’t need to know that…
“Are you and Mark..?”
You feel your cheeks warm at the thought but you’d be lying if you deny your feelings for him.
“No.” You state with your head down and hands in your lap, playing with a ripped thread on your jeans.
“Huh. That’s a shame.” Eve comments.
That gets your attention.
“What do you mean?”
“It’s just that you and Mark seem…”
“Ideal.” Amber completes smoothly.
Your wide eyes and mouth agape give you away.
“You've never thought about him like that?”
You have, but how do you admit this to Mark’s coworker and friend without it getting back to him?
You think Amber and Eve are cool, they’re nice to you; but they're more Mark’s friends.
To you, they're friends of a friend.
Amber senses your hesitation and sat down next to you.
“We won’t tell anyone, if that’s what you’re wondering.”
Eve locks her lips with an imaginary key and throws it away.
That elicits a small laugh out of you, making you feel a bit more confident to share your secret.
You look over and see Mark and Rex still talking, now joined by William and Rick.
You contemplate for a moment before admitting it.
“Yeah.” You breathe out.
Eve hums in thought. “Let me guess, you don’t want to say anything in case it’ll fuck up the friendship?”
You gasp lightly at her spot-on description. “How’d you know?!”
She just shrugs nonchalantly and Amber bites her tongue to point out how obvious the entire situation is.
“I do like him, a lot... but what if he doesn’t feel the same? I would've ruined something special for something selfish and it would stay with me forever.”
You rant to the 2 girls you’re closest with and somehow, it feels right. You dismiss the thought of them turning out like the average mean girls in a teenage rom-com.
“But what if he does like you back?” Eve proposes.
“Then he’ll have to make the first move.” You shrug obviously.
“I know that’s right.”
You feel giddy from Amber’s approval.
She’s always been the type to keep it short and sweet but once you get her talking? She’ll always keep it real.
“We gotta go but we’ll see you later?”
Eve's already planning on the next hangout because she likes you enough to wanna help. She doesn’t like a lot of people so consider yourself special!
“Oh! Uh- yeah! Sure, that works with me.”
“It’s settled then.”
“See ya, Y/n.”
Coincidentally, you see the boys leave, leaving Mark to come to you.
“Shall we?”
“We shall.”
Tumblr media
“Just let me try it.” Mark whines.
You shook your head and stood your ground. “It'll be gone in under ten seconds.”
He gasps dramatically, a hand to the heart like a lady of the opera. “You don't have faith in me?! I am a superhero-”
“I'm sure that's what they say.”
Your sarcasm isn’t foreign but he grows quiet at the remark.
It just slipped out so easily, without care or regard. You immediately try to make it right.
“I’m sorry, Mark.”
“No, no. It’s okay. You didn’t mean it like that.”
Ever the sweetheart but you refuse.
“No, it isn’t.” You stop walking. “I was careless with what I said and it’s not right.”
He looks at you with appreciation and gives you a smile. “Thank you, Y/n. It feels nice to be seen as I am.”
That both warms and saddens your heart.
You know how much he’s been through and even though you’ll never truly understand, you know he can still count on you. You’ll be there for him and that’s gotta mean something.
“Of course.”
You and Mark spend the next hour chatting and idly checking out things in the stores.
You wander into the dress and gown section and are completely in awe of the collection. Every color you can think of in every style: silky, thigh cut, halter top, strapless.
Your hands run through the material and you’re reminded of the spring formal coming up soon.
Not everyone gets the chance of going but you have a friend who extended the courtesy of inviting you and a plus one.
You recall the last time you went to a dance: your senior year of high school's prom. It was memorable. You were a part of a small group that went together; consisting of your friends.
You took photos with Mark and danced with him for a bit but not like anything you wished. There's nothing romantic about screaming club anthem lyrics while getting twerked on but since it was Mark's ass, you didn’t complain.
That was the first and last time he accepted drinks from William, by the way.
You chuckle quietly to yourself in memory of that glorious night when Mark comes up behind you.
"You ready to go or do you wanna try some of them on?"
You take another look at the gorgeous dresses and think.
Mark's hoping you say yes.
He won't admit it anytime soon and despite him already thinking you're the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen, prom night solidified that for him.
You had him starstruck.
His hear stuttered, adrenaline rushed through his veins and conjured up a swarm of butterflies in his stomach.
SImply put, every feeling and action that describes a man in awe of a pretty lady was an accurate depiction of him.
“Nah, maybe some other time.” You decide.
Mark nods, looking forward to the future dress tryouts. “Okay.”
Tumblr media
Later, you have dinner with Mark, Oliver and Debbie.
Mark flew out and brought home some authentic pasta and garlic bread from Italy.
You rolled your eyes playfully and claimed he was being “extra” but reevaluated your statement when you thought about it.
If you could move that fast, you'd go to another country to have their finest food as well.
“It's so good to have you, honey.”
Debbie was always so nice to you, it made you feel happy and proud of yourself knowing someone's mom wholeheartedly accepts your presence in their kids life.
“It's good to be here.”
“Are you gonna stay the night?!” The purple little boy asked full of hope.
You didn't want to let him down but you had no choice.
“I'm sorry, Oliver, but not tonight.” You ruffle his hair and give him an apologetic smile.
You know he's bummed out when he doesn't sound that infectious laugh and tell you you're messing up his hair.
“Oh.”
You feel Mark's gaze on you and when you look up, he offers a sympathetic smile.
“I can stay until it's time for you to sleep.”
You know you've got him, it's an offer he can't refuse.
He's all smiles now and hugs you by the waist, his head laying on your chest.
You smile and hug him back, your head laying on his.
Mark cleans the table and Oliver takes out the trash while you help Debbie with the dishes.
“It doesn't matter how many times I say “no”, does it?”
You hum and shake your head. “Nope.”
You make small talk while you dry after she scrubs and rinses. About college, your plans after college, Mark.
“What about him?” You wonder.
“I mean, how has be been since...”
You see a look of helplessness on her face.
Debbie may be his mother but even she is not immune to the conflict of secrecy in her son's life.
You instantly feel bad.
Mark always tells you everything but to have his own mom ask you things about her son makes the situation complex.
You turn your head over your shoulder and see Mark playing a video game with his baby brother.
When Mark told you about Nolan, what happened to them on Thraxa and the events that unfolded afterwards, you didn't know how to respond.
As if hearing Nolan reveal his plans for Earth and call Debbie a “pet” wasn't heartbreaking enough, you were there with Debbie when Mark was brutally assaulted by his own father.
Then you hear of Nolan's second family he while the first one was still trying to keep it together and deal with the devastating aftermath of the biggest betrayal.
You almost cried when Mark broke down about Angstrom Levy hurting Debbie and Oliver.
You were out of the country on a field trip with your classmates when that happened. Devastated was an understatement for how you felt to hear both Mark and Debbie in the hospital from William.
Mark shamefully admitted to killing Angstrom, thinking that would sever the bond between you two. He expected you to be afraid of him, no matter how awful he’d feel about doing that to you.
It was the total opposite, you embraced him and let him cry on your shoulder. You let him feel everything but you also let him feel your hand in his.
You looked him in the eyes and told him that he did what he had to do and if killing Angstrom was the solution, then so be it.
“Mark told me everything. From seeing Mr. Grayson—”
You see a flash of hurt in Debbie's eyes at the mention of his name and almost forget that before he was known as Omni-Man, he was Mr. Grayson. He was Mark's dad.
“—again and about Oliver. Up until Angstrom and how the last thing he did was hurt you and Oliver.”
Debbie drys her hands and looks out of the window above the sink.
You can tell she’s disassociating. Her eyes seem so far away and crestfallen.
You don’t know if she’s getting much sleep but you also can’t imagine getting any if you were her.
You put a hand on her shoulder and she’s visibly shaken out of her thoughts.
“He’s gonna be okay, and so are you.”
She looks at you like you’ve lit up a candle at the end of a very dark tunnel.
Debbie leans in for a hug, eliciting a small sigh when you strengthen the embrace a little.
You figured she should feel taken care of for once.
“Thank you.”
You hear her sincerity and make a mental note to talk about this with Mark later on.
Oliver is tired out from having a “good playdate” with you and his older brother.
You tuck him in for the night per his request and can't help but feel the warmth from taking care of him touch your heart.
He's a growing boy but despite the many changes one goes through due to that constant stage of life, his feelings for you don't change.
Mark loves how much Oliver loves you. He loves seeing 2 of the most important people in his life get along so well, secretly admiring the way you've grown a soft spot in his mother's heart, too.
“They grow up so fast.” Mark attempts to humor.
You hum and try your best not to cry dwell on the bittersweetness of that phrase.
“Yeah.”
You're sitting on Mark's bed, looking fondly at the one of many drawings the kid made for you.
You softly exhale and bring up the conversation you had earlier with Debbie.
“Mark, I have something I want to talk to you about.”
He looks at you knowingly. “I know.”
Your eyes widen a bit at that revelation. “You do?”
He nods, a pursed smile on his face. “I have super hearing, remember?”
How did you forget that?
You close your eyes and exhale sharply, feeling silly for forgetting that power of his. “Right, duh.”
You don’t want to push the conversation if he’s not feeling it but you want to know if you did the right thing.
“I... didn’t overstep… right?”
“Oh, no. No, you didn’t.”
He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. “I… haven’t had the best time talking to her about the things I say to you.”
You nod in understanding.
“I felt bad when she asked you how I’m doing. She should be able to ask me that.”
He’s guilt-stricken and it makes you feel dejected.
“Mark.” You put a comforting hand on his shoulder. “I know it’s hard talking to your mom about your inner turmoil but you’re all she has.”
Who does Debbie go to when she wants to discuss the matters of her heart? Who’ll listen when she wants someone to talk to?
“You give her the strength to carry on so let her give you some peace of mind, hm?”
Mark’s eyes shine with a strong fondness for you, his mind wiped clean of all things difficult and heart ten times lighter.
You’ve always understood him, whether he explains himself or not. You could always just know.
Your heart and emotional intelligence are perhaps his favorite things about you.
“You okay?” You ask, worried you’ve overstepped again.
“Never been better.” He promises.
A soft smile graces his lips as he leans in to hug you.
You accept it with an equal gentle expression and when you feel his arms wrap around your middle, you feel good.
Mark is invulnerable but not when it comes to the war between his mind and heart, that’s when you step in. And when you do, there’s always a resolution found in great clarity.
You feel his heartbeat above yours and unconsciously, they sync. His breathing evens out with yours.
It feels intimate, this hug.
You’ve hugged him a million times before but none of them have felt quite like this.
A heavy weight on his shoulders has evaporated and you can feel his gratitude.
“I don’t know how to thank you.” He murmurs.
You tilt your head back a bit so he can see you. “Then don’t.” You shrug, like it’s the most obvious answer.
He chuckles lightly and blinks at you, a tight-lipped smile on his face.
You’re suddenly hyper-aware of his arms loosening around you and replacing the warmth with his hands on your hips.
You subconsciously gulp and watch his eyes flicker towards your eyes, lips then back to your eyes.
You don’t know if it’s your mind playing tricks on you, but you swear he moves his head a little closer to you; just enough to barely touch noses.
Your stomach is in a frenzy and your hands feel clammy.
Is this really happening?
But then, like a switch being flipped off; he gingerly clears his throat and backs away.
You blink, catching yourself in a daze and he gets up to put on a movie.
He acts like he wasn’t just about to kiss you, as if that chemistry was just a figment of your imagination.
You don’t have the guts to say anything, to ask the obvious. So, you also pretend that you two weren’t just about to fulfill your biggest ‘what if?’ scenario.
Tumblr media
“Oh, wow… that’s crazy.”
“I’m sorry, Y/n.”
It was nice to hear sympathies from the only people who you could afford to talk about this with. They’re also the only people who wouldn’t go and spread the telltale truth of the most embarrassing moment of your life.
“I can’t believe he fumbled this badly.” Amber facepalms herself in disbelief.
She sighs in exasperation and plops down on your bed with an arm covering her eyes.
Eve doesn’t move from her position; leaning on your wall with her arms crossed and her face in thought.
“What if he doesn’t like me like that?” You wonder aloud.
Amber peeks an eye out from under her elbow and Eve shakes her head.
“No, no, no. Trust me, that’s not it.”
“Don’t seem so sure.” You grumble as you pick at your nails to distract yourself from the heartache.
Eve sits down beside you and thinks about her words carefully. “Mark… well, I won’t defend him; he is kinda stupid.”
“Kinda?” Amber argues.
That makes you grin a bit.
“But he’s also your best friend, and you’re his. Maybe he doesn’t know how he feels but he does know that you’re not worth the risk of something he’s unsure will ever happen.”
Somehow, she put things into a perspective you’ve never thought about before.
“I never thought about it like that.”
You feel Amber sit up.
“That’s because it’s a confusing situation. Seeing both sides of the story might help you make some sense, give you consolation.”
You nod, already having potential answers to your unanswered questions. If not real answers, you’ll settle for theories. It’s still something.
“Thank you, guys.”
Amber winks at you. “Anytime.”
“Of course. We're rooting for you both.”
You shyly smile when Eve nudges your shoulder.
“So,” She claps her hands together. “What should we do to commence our very first sleepover? Omegle?”
Amber is concerned for the first time at Eve’s expense.
“Umm...” You pout your lips to the side.
“I don't find the idea of accidentally getting flashed the most... thrilling.” Ambers grimaces.
“Yeah.” You nod.
Eve has a sly look on her face, one that says her proposition comes with an entertaining twist.
“Trust me, I have an idea.”
Tumblr media
“Okay, that was pretty fun.” Amber concedes.
You laugh softly to yourself, remembering the events from the previous night.
The 3 of you decide to go out for lunch, finding the night an excellent moment for bonding.
“What was fun?”
Mark pulls a seat up at the table you're occupying.
“Mark? How'd you know we were here?” You query.
Mark looks just as confused as you but before he could answer, Eve does it for him.
“I invited him.”
“Oh. Okay.”
You don't have a problem, it's just that you thought this was gonna be “girl time” as you like to call these moments.
It would've been nice to know, at least.
Amber attempts to start up a conversation but little did you know; this conversation was a part of Eve's “idea” she mentioned the night prior.
“We went on Omegle last night.”
Mark's eyebrows raise in surprise. “Did anything happen?”
You understand the underlying message to be, “Were you victims to any unsolicited sexual advance?” and find it kind of sweet that Mark cares enough to have that be his first train of thought.
“Yeah, actually.” Eve notes as she takes a bite of her burger.
“Y/n's got herself a loverboy.”
You choke on your drink. Exploding into a fit of coughs, you hope it kills you.
Mark is quick to pat your back and try to aid in helping.
When you catch your breath, you look over at him awkwardly and thank him.
“Don't mention it.” He humbly said.
You make it a personal mission to never bring it up. Ever.
Amber continues to fuel the fire.
“Yeahhh.” She sighs. “He's Russian and was all, like, ‘Your eyes are like the ocean and I am a merman.’.” She puts on her best Russian accent and giggles when she nails it.
“Mm!” Eve makes a noise of enthusiasm, adding on to the punchline. “And then he said, ‘They are so deep, I can drown in them.’.”
“The fuck?” Mark grunts under his breath. “But mermen can swim.”
Honestly, he thought it was fucking stupid. Even if this guy was a “merman”, he'd be able to swim. Drowning is totally out of the question.
“Yeah, but it was the thought that counts.” Amber spoke before eating a fry.
“It was pretty corny.” Eve seemingly agrees with Mark.
“See?! I knew I wasn't the only one.” Mark nods to himself.
“But...”
His smile drops.
“I gotta admit, it was kind of romantic.”
Mark can't believe this.
Is romance really dead? Aren't punchlines supposed to make sense?
He knows it's only romantic because the guy's Russian. Okay, so he has an accent. So what? That should pardon his inadequacy of flirting?
“You guys only ate it up because he has an accent.”
Mark narrows his eyes as he takes a curly fry from your plate.
Amber and Eve side eye each other with mischief as they see you enter the ring.
“I thought it was kind of sweet, you know? At least he tried.” You counter.
Mark tilts his head, clearly bewildered. “You mean to say that you actually liked that?”
You don’t like his accusatory tone. “It wasn’t that bad, Mark.”
He rolls his eyes and begs to differ. “Wasn’t that bad- it made no sense! He definitely pulled that shit out of Google’s top thirty best flirty lines.” He puts air quotes around best.
“Oh, would you look at that? I actually have to go do that... thing.” Eve slowly rises from her seat.
“Yeah, me too.” Amber flashes a sweet smile.
They’re gone before you can impose.
“They really just left.” You say to no one.
Mark is still somehow going. “I just… I dunno.” He says, defeated.
“Mark, it wasn’t that deep. He liked my eyes and said some line that made me feel nice. That’s all.”
He nods like he understands but he really doesn’t.
“He’s no Mr. Darcy.” You settle as you take a sip of your milkshake.
Mark smiles at that and you’re confused.
“Why’re you smiling?”
“I knew it! I knew you couldn’t possible swoon over that ridiculous, nonsensical one-liner.”
You laugh incredulously. “Seriously, what’s your problem?”
He raises his hands in surrender. “I just knew he couldn’t be your type after that. Sure, you like them romantic but with genuine thought.”
He says that so confidently, with such attention, it makes you feel nicer than the Russian’s compliment. He makes you feel seen with that keen observation.
You nod to yourself, lowkey impressed.
“Mkay.” You simply say.
His gaze flickers towards you at the seemingly confusing, neutral response.
“What.”
“What, what?”
“You said that like you’re not convinced.”
You deeply exhale, not wanting to argue anymore. “Mkay.”
His eyes widen a bit and he snaps at you like he’s just discovered the phrase: ‘eureka!’.
“That, right there. That’s what I mean.”
You rub at your head as if you’ve got a headache but you doubt you won’t get one soon.
“Elaborate.”
You’re sticking with as little words as possible if it means to get to the point.
“Are you mad at me?” He asks with worry coating his tone.
You shake your head, unsure of what’s happening. “I just don’t know what’s gotten into you today. You’re in this strange mood to argue.”
He blinks.
You’re right.
Arguments are a rare occurrence in this relationship.
“We never argue.” He realizes regretfully.
Your eyes trail up his form and you see the uncomfortableness etched onto his outline.
“I’m sorry-”
“Sorry-”
There’s a pause, one that melts the lingering awkwardness into friendliness.
You see the hints of a smile creep up on him and instinctually, there’s one in yours.
“You first.”
Ever the gentleman.
“Sorry for making it awkward.” Your fingers interlock with each other and you give him an apologetic look.
Mark immediately shakes his head. “No, you didn’t make anything awkward… It was me. I got-”
He doesn’t speak for a few seconds, trying to find another way out of this as two thirds of his sentence has already been put out.
“You got..?”
He puts on a tight-lipped smile but it looks pained. “I just wanna say that I’m sorry for getting defensive for no reason.”
He thinks that was a good excuse for his detour but you’re smart.
“Jealous.” You say firmly.
“Huh?” He squeaks and immediately clears his throat.
“You got jealous.” You shrug your shoulders and move the whip cream in your milkshake around with the straw.
He scoffs with the intention of obscurity. “That- I- What? Pfft, jealous. Who, me?! Yeah, right.”
His stuttering erupts a snort from you, an “I told you so” fresh on the tip of your tongue.
He wanted to spout declarations of how incorrect you are but he couldn’t. The cat had his tongue.
“Whatever.” He bites with little heat.
He crosses his arms over his chest and appears to look unaffected by your ability to see through him.
“Mkay.” You hum to tease him.
Your best friend groans and you giggle at him slouching down in his seat, his hands covering his face and in turn; a sheepish grin.
Tumblr media
You’re in your home when your TV bears awful news.
“Breaking news: intruders that look like multiple Invincibles are wreaking havoc across the globe.”
As soon as you hear that, a loud boom is heard from across the city and sends shockwaves to where you are.
“We urge you to stay in your homes and hide. Do not make contact, I repeat; don’t engage with them.”
You’re scared.
How the hell are you supposed to stay hidden in your home when there’s the start of destruction visible outside?
How can they tell you to stay inside when there’s a chance you can die in there?
It’s not like the variants aren’t gonna come inside. Who’d stop them from hurling your place of residence like a football?
Despite all of those thoughts, you stay inside.
You hide in your living room. You sigh to yourself as you hide inside a spare closet, leaving a sliver of space open to breathe.
You turn your phone’s ringer off but feel the vibrations in your pocket. You look to see who it could be and feel so much relief flood your stomach when it’s Mark.
“Mark?” You say shakily.
“Y/n? Oh, thank god. Where are you?”
Your eyes water but you keep them at bay. No point in crying over spilled milk.
“I’m in the spare closet of the living room, what’s going on?”
He starts to explain when the call abruptly cuts.
So fucking cliche you think as you the see the dead battery sign.
The sound of a window opening makes you heave out a sigh of relief.
You get out and are about to hug him but the first thing you notice when you open the door is his face. Er, the lack thereof.
“Is… this a new costume?” You ask wearily.
You didn’t know Mark had a black mask installed. It covered his whole head and the lens was turquoise blue instead of white.
He just stares at you, unflinching and scarily still.
You gulp as the realization sets in your stomach.
This isn’t the Mark of your world. This isn’t the Invincible you recognize.
The masked stranger can sense your irregular heartbeat and hear the small panicked breaths that well up in your chest.
He slowly stalks towards you; like a predator to their prey, except there’s nothing dangerous about his stance. He doesn’t radiate harm or anger and he puts his hands up, as if to show you he won’t harm you.
For your own sake, you don’t believe that. You can’t believe that’s what he wants.
You’re frozen, wide eyes filled to the brim with fear and shock.
You grip your phone tight in your hands, ready to turn it into a weapon if you must.
He’s interrupted when another one shows up.
This one has a black and yellow suit with a yellow cape.
Your eyes dart to his figure and you’re sure this one’s gonna do the honors.
“You’re alive.” He says to himself.
His eyes are covered with white lenses but you know he’s looking at you.
His hands ball up into fists and he walks to you with an urgency in his stride.
You instinctually back up and hit a wall when the masked variant gets in between you both.
“She’s scared.”
The tone in his voice almost makes you think he cares. Almost.
“Get out of my way.” The bright-caped intruder basically spat his face.
“And let youuu have all the fun? I don’t think so!”
What the fuck?
You see what looks like Mark… in a mohawk.
His lips spread into a smirk, a cocky tone in his words.
Your nails press into your arm to prevent you from sputtering out a giggle.
How are you supposed to take him seriously when he’s willingly sporting a mohawk? Right.
If you knew there was going to come a time where your home is used as some sort of Invincible convention, you would’ve moved out a long time ago.
“You’re here.”
This one scares you a little.
His demeanor may be softer but his eyes, they’re wild with a fire furling around his pupils.
What makes the fear prick at your heart is the fact that he’s wearing the Viltrumite uniform.
Wherever he came from, he became his father.
That fact chills your bones and you think, how could that happen? Why did that happen?
His wild eyes are wide with surprise and there’s the ghost of a relieved smile on his face.
Very quickly have you gone from 0 to 100.
There are 2 seemingly decent Invincibles and 2 Invincibles that give off evil vibes.
What’s better news is that they all have some sort of fascination with you.
Awesome! Fantastic, even!
Your adrenaline has taken a back seat but you’re still unnerved by the destruction just outside your neighborhood.
You’ve never wished for a quicker death as this cat and mouse game is becoming all too much. The anticipation will kill you if they don’t.
“Alright,” Mohawk Mark yawns. “Enough dickin’ around.”
The 4 variants surround you, encasing you in an otherwise unbreakable square.
“You’re coming with us.” Decides the caped crusader.
He puts his hand out to grab you but is thrown through a wall by an unstoppable force.
It feels a bit blurry after that.
You feel yourself being lifted and moving at an alarming speed, your body lurching forward and side to side by the breeze taking you.
“I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” He murmurs.
He hugs you close to his chest, a hand cradling the back of your head and the other clutching your back protectively.
“M-Mark?”
You find your voice amongst the dizziness clouding your head.
He holds your head and tilts it towards him, kissing the crown and meeting your eyes.
“Yeah, it’s me. You’re okay, you’ll be fine. Just stay here.”
You hold his wrists and blink, looking around you to find yourself with Debbie and her boyfriend, Paul.
“Please.”
Mark’s desperation appeals to you. His voice cracks with an urgency for your life. One that is begging you to listen, and you do.
“Okay.” You agree.
He nods and kisses you once again, a sweet promise pressed against your forehead.
You may have had the wind knocked out of you but that doesn’t mean you’re unaware.
Oh yeah, that kiss sobers you up real quick.
Your eyes are wide and cheeks are warm; you’re flushed and hope he doesn’t detect the jump in your heart rate because of his tenderness for you.
“Be careful.” You blurt out.
Mark looks back at you with a smirk on his face.
“I will.”
He kept his promise for the most part.
Tumblr media
“Ow.”
“Maybe don’t move around a lot?”
“…Sorry.”
He winces as you treat his facial wounds.
Mark got pretty banged up; his left eye was swollen and purple from Conquests fists. He has similar shades of bruising on his face and a nasty cut on the bridge of his nose, another on the corner of his lip.
His arms and leg are almost fully healed.
It’s been a grueling 2 weeks.
Oliver helps out as much as he can.
Eve and the rest of the heroes are helping piece the cities back together but no matter how much they help rebuild, the atrocities committed won’t be forgotten.
Conquest was here on a personal mission and almost leveled the state because of it and roughed up Oliver pretty badly.
“I don’t know what to do.”
You hear him, you hear the things he wants to say and the things he doesn’t say out loud.
You feel so bad, so awful for him. He’s still a kid trying his hardest, doing his best.
Why can’t that be enough?
“It isn’t fair.” You respond.
His gaze turns to you.
“You do your best and when you think it’s over, the worst is still yet to come.”
Your fingers lightly touch the one of many bruises on his cheek, his eyes close at the contact.
“I can’t imagine how many times you’ve had pieces of you broken for us but it’s a sacrifice that unfortunately comes with the job.”
It hurt your heart, saying the second part.
Hard truths are a pill you’ll always find difficult to give.
He sharply inhales and the tears he tried so hard holding, come pouring down. Soft sobs and wails plague his throat.
His head falls atop your chest and his hands wrap around your middle, clinging to your shirt.
Your arms wrap around his shoulders and you do your best to ground him, to be his anchor.
His mental state is unimaginable, the thought of him slipping away has been a reoccurring nightmare for you but you push through. You have to.
“So many people died.”
The death toll worldwide was into the hundreds of thousands. That was the doing of the variants but Mark was inadvertently responsible, too.
It breaks your heart at how unfair this all is.
A Viltrumite’s personal vendetta against Mark resulted in such catastrophe.
Scott -also known as Powerplex- fried his only family left and somehow thinks that is also Mark’s fault.
As if the Chicago Incident wasn’t enough, there was almost a Chicago Incident Part 2 had it not been for Eve.
“You can’t blame yourself for Angstrom’s doing.” You try to reason.
Mark shakes his head and gets up.
“I thought I killed him, but I should’ve been sure. I should’ve finished the job.”
Mark palms at his wet eyes, sniffling lightly as he calms down.
You don’t know what to do, you don’t know what to say.
You don’t want him to wallow in this pain by himself but you also don’t want to say something wrong.
“You should leave.” His cold tone and neutral face really sells it.
You’re confused. “What?”
You’ve never seen him like this and are worried the wretched day you’ve been imagining is finally here.
“I’m sorry, w-was it something I said? Or did?”
“No. I just want you to go.”
You watch his fists bunch up the material of his joggers on his knees and the veins protruding from his hands.
“I…”
You want to say something, you want to stay for him but you can’t. You know it’d only make things worse.
So you just nod and whisper a meek, “Okay.”.
Mark still isn’t looking at you when you make your way to the door. His face still expressionless, calculated, distant.
Your fingers reach for the handle when you hear him.
“Y/n?”
It’s embarrassing how quick hope flashes in your eyes at the sound of him saying your name.
You try to suppress the obvious reaction as much as possible.
“Yeah?”
It still seeps through your voice but you’re human.
Your emotions are a part of you, even if they end up being a helping hand to your disappointment.
You don’t see the pool of guilt swirl around in his almost annoyed eyes but maybe it’s for the better.
He stares at you and feels bad but after everything that’s happened, is it worth keeping you in his life?
He wants to tell you so badly what’s making him push you away.
Sure, William is his best friend but you’re so much more. You’re a part of him, you’re his soulmate.
Mark wants nothing more than to see you happy but he ultimately decides that it’s nothing compared to seeing you alive.
“Can you close my door all the way?” He begrudgingly says.
The average person would blame him for pushing you away, him getting your hopes up only to crush them so inadvertently cruelly.
But you only chastise yourself.
You want him to know that despite people like Scott or Angstrom; who put the blame on wrong people for their circumstantial demise, there's people like you and Debbie.
He has a support system ready to recharge him but maybe you were overcharging him?
You go to sleep in tears, crying silently to yourself over how fucked life is.
Mark doesn't sleep the whole night, knowing he can hear your heart break.
Tumblr media
It's been a slow week.
You don't talk to anyone or do things you used to; only getting up to go to class and eat, do some occasional grocery shopping.
You make an excuse for Amber and Eve when they text you to meet up and watch their caller ID's flash across your phone before it rings all the way through.
Mark hasn't spoken to you at all. No call, no text.
Despite him quitting school, you used to see him all the time on campus. Whether it be for you or William or Rick.
Now, you don't meet with anyone.
“She doesn't wanna talk to me or Amber anymore.” Eve voiced one day.
"Nor us." Rick pointed towards him and William.
“Something’s wrong. I'm worried about her.” Amber adds as she comes across the last message you sent in the group chat with her and Eve.
hey guys, just dealing with the flu rn. i’m fine tho! no worries :)
But of course they worried. They're your friends and that's what friends do.
Which is exactly what they said when they arrived at your doorstep, so you can't afford another excuse.
Your duo sits on your bed, trying to come up with a solution to best help you out.
“He’s closed off and maybe that was expected, but it's been a week.” Amber says.
“Yeah, you'd think he'd open up by now.”
You sigh pitifully and look out your window and down the street.
You’re a 10 minute drive and he’s a 1 minute flight away, yet nobody is willing to close that distance.
“It should be him, though.” Eve says.
“Hm?” You hum absentmindedly.
“Mark should be the one to come talk to you, not the other way around.”
Eve gauges for a reaction from you, one that will oppose her idea.
“Maybe you should go.” She switches up.
You look at Eve hesitantly, like it's a flop idea.
“You tried, Y/n. You did your part and he let you know but this isn’t the way things between you should end. Should he want it to end.”
It's like Amber knew what you were thinking and tried to dismiss the thought for you.
You weren't gonna lie and say that you haven't thought about blowing up his phone, driving to his house and banging on his door to open up to you.
But would he even want to? Would he even listen?
“It's not about what he wants, it's about what he needs.”
“And what he needs right now, is you.”
- MEANWHILE, WITH WILLIAM, RICK & REX -
“Come on, man. Don't be like this.” William tries.
Rick can see how much Mark is beating himself up over everything that’s happened.
With the fight against Liu’s dragon and Powerplex. And now recently, Conquest.
Mark never complained, it was the job. But you made getting back out on the field a bit easier.
“It's not worth losing her.” Rick gently reminds.
Mark's trio of lending hands have come to his service but it's unwanted, and Mark lets them know.
“Look, I don't need this. Especially not right now.”
This makes Rex mad.
“Oh you don’t need this? Well, excuseee me! We don’t need you to be so goddamn stupid, especially not right now.”
Mark narrows his eyes, visibly agitated. “Stupid? I’m being stupid?”
Rex widens his eyes, his pitch growing higher. “Yeah! That’s what I said.”
“Okay, I think we’re elevating the situation so let’s all just calm down.” William suggests nervously.
Mark has other thoughts as he rises from the bed. “And how exactly am I being stupid?”
Rex knows he shouldn’t be egging him on, he shouldn’t be encouraging his anger; but if this was the way to make his friend see his foolishness then so be it.
“By distancing yourself from the one woman who’s nice enough to let you, instead of manning up and telling her how you really feel.”
That stung.
“You don’t get to tell me how to handle my love life.”
Rex smirks lazily, a hardball on the tip of his tongue. “You don’t even have the balls to have one.”
“Rex.” William warns.
The cheeky bastard ignores him and continues on, a bit excited to see where this would all lead.
“I think she’d want a man who sees her, who doesn’t hurt her by ignoring her entire existence.”
Rick facepalms himself and wonders where the line between bravery and stupid was drawn.
Mark’s knuckles are white from how hard his fingers are curling in on themselves, his fists ready to pound into the explosive asshole.
Rex steps closer, now toe-to-toe with Mark and ignorantly unafraid. “I wouldn’t make her wait.”
Mark punches him right in the mouth, hard.
“Mark!” The yell of his friends fall on deaf ears.
Rex grunts as he stumbles back a bit, expecting this outcome.
“You don’t know her. You don’t know what’s good for her.” Mark spits bitterly.
Rex spits some blood out, sighing heavily. “You do.”
That makes Mark soften up.
He blinks like he’s snapped out of a trance. His fist wavers and is set down beside his thigh, a deep sigh exiting his nose. He looks at his friend and witnesses the ugly truth; his jealousy won.
“What am I doing?” He whispers.
Rex coughs lightly, the cut on his lip stinging.
“Talk to her, Mark. Don’t let her live with the regret of not knowing.”
Rick puts a sympathetic hand on his shoulder, hoping this will finally tip him over the edge.
Rex comes off the wall, slapping Mark’s back with a warm pat.
“I’m sorry, Rex. I shouldn’t have-”
He dismisses him with a wave. “Nah, I was being an asshole. An asshole on purpose, but still an asshole.”
Tumblr media
Deep breath in, deep breath out.
You’re gathering the courage to mull over the most impactful relationship in your life.
Is there even a correct way to do that?
You don’t know, but what you do know is that you have to try.
You look at yourself in the mirror and feel the weight of your younger self.
She’d be devastated. you think. If she were here in the flesh to see this, you don’t think she could withstand it.
A sharp knock to your door pulls you out of your head.
You’re not expecting anyone, and you’re unsure about the one person you did want to hear from.
Regardless, you walk over and open the door and your heart drops out of your ass. Not in fear, but in surprise.
“Mark.” You breathe.
Here he is; in the flesh and without the scowl you picture. In fact, he looks guilty.
His once glee-filled eyes are now empty of it, making you reminisce the time before last week.
“Can I come in?” His voice resounding of forlorn hope.
He expects you to deny him, to make him walk away with his hands held in a helpless prayer.
Instead, you show him mercy and welcome him inside your place of refuge.
Tentatively, he makes his way inside and awkwardly stands beside your desk.
You’re quiet, still trying to process his presence after an entire week of radio silence.
You don’t know how to feel. Should you be happy? Ecstatic? If anything, frustrated and hurt are also a great couple of options.
“Y/n?”
You look up at him and see his concerned face. “Hm?”
“I asked if we can talk.”
“Now you want to talk?” It came out before you could even think about it.
Your annoyance seeps through and he shuffles the weight on his feet a bit uncomfortably.
“I know-”
“No, you don’t.”
He looks at you like you just told him to kill himself.
“Y/n, please. Just hear me out.”
Your arms are crossed over your chest in a defensive position, he clocks that. He also notices the way you make eye contact with him throughout your sentences.
You were really hurt, he gathers.
He takes your silence as a sign to continue talking.
“After I left you at Paul’s, I went back out there and fought off the rest of those… variants. While I was fighting them, they told me about you.”
Your interest is absolutely peaked now.
“What do you mean?”
“They... they said that you existed in their world but-” He cuts himself off with a vexed sigh.
“But what, Mark.”
You want, need to know what was worth hurting you for days on end.
Mark looks at you and it's the most disheartened he's looked since that night he told you to leave.
“You died, Y/n.”
It all makes sense now. You grapple with the stomach-churning epiphany of the century.
The different Invincibles that wanted to take you was simply because you ceased to exist in their worlds.
“I... I died in every single universe.”
He takes some steps in your direction, not wanting to overwhelm you.
“You either died on accident by being murdered among civilians or you killed yourself.”
“Why would I commit suicide?”
He deeply inhales. “Because you'd rather die than join the other me.”
That sounds on brand.
“I couldn't live with myself knowing I'd lose you in this world, too.” He admits raspily.
That touches your heart.
You want to hug him, to comfort him but you're still kind of confused. You needed more answers.
“I was so scared, I had never felt fear like I did when I saw them with you.” He whispers.
“Why'd you tell me to leave?” You ask gently.
“Because I love you.”
His confession is so light, said with such helplessness, that you tear up.
Mark maintains eye contact with you, tired of hiding his true self. He wants you to see him.
“So many people have died because of me, it may not be directly my fault, but it still had to do with me.”
He comes a little closer, just a couple of steps away from touching you.
“What if I was too late that day? What if they managed to take you away?” He mutters in a hushed tone.
Mark shakes his head as if to get rid of those thoughts.
“If anything happens to you, it will be because of me.”
“So, you thought it was best to create such a large gap between us, that there'd be a sinking hole inside of me. Is that it?”
Your eyes well up against your will but you can't bring yourself to care. Not when he can finally see just how much you've been suffering.
“You think I wanted to do that?” He asks defensively.
You scoff indignantly. “I think you could've told me from the jump. That's what I think.”
You know it's a little unfair given how vulnerable he's being right now but he was unfair when you were vulnerable, too.
He shakes his head, eyes closing in on themselves as his tears threaten to fall. “I can't risk your life, Y/n! Why don't you understand that?”
You messily wipe your tears, your lashes wet and nose tinged with the lightest of reds.
“All this time, you didn't have a problem with how close we were. Now that you saw how close I was to something dangerous, it got too real for you?!”
He's in your space now, his chin set down and eyes on yours.
Contrary to how mad he looks, he relays his message in an low tone. “Yeah. It did.”
Your eyes widen a bit at the length he's cut between your bodies and you're back in time. You go back to the moment he almost kissed you.
“Don't push me away, Mark.”
You beg him and you don't care if you look pathetic. You love him and don't want to lose him like this.
Mark just presses his forehead against yours and shuts his eyes, he concentrates on you. Your smell, your hushed breaths, your heartbeat.
You feel his hands slide up and down your arms, grounding you.
Even when he's opening up to you, Mark still chooses to comfort you. He still wants to calm you down, to make you feel better. He still chooses to have your best interests at heart.
“I came here to tell you the truth, that you deserve better.”
You wordlessly deny his idea, shaking your head once.
He grabs ahold of your head, making you look at him.
You see it all, you see all of his pain, grief, anger.
“I love you but you're not safe with me.”
“You don't get to make my decision for me.” You stubbornly point out.
He’s stubborn too. “Y/n—”
“I love you.” A shaky whisper snuck into the air between your lips.
His wide eyes stare back at yours in surprise.
“I've loved you for a long time and I don't wanna be in love with another.” You wrap your hands around his, feeling the warmth bloom onto your cold ones.
“Please, please don't ask me to stay away from you.” You cry.
He kisses your head and brings you close, his palm guiding your cheek to his shoulder. He curls his other arm around your waist and rests his chin atop your hair.
“Okay, alright.” He fondly agrees. Stop crying, you crybaby.”
“Fuck you.” You lightly jab.
He airily laughs and brings your face close to his, pressing an equally feathery kiss to your lips.
You timidly kiss him, shying away a little to breathe but Mark wants you to take his breath if you must. He pulls you in, hands gripping your hips and pulling you flush against him, wanting to shape a new mold from your figures.
Your fingers nervously brush his hair and he groans at the contact.
You chuckle at the sound and he pulls away leaving a soft peck.
He's in a daze and has hearts in his eyes but he ultimately decides; he wouldn't want it any other way.

What good is a leader who can’t empathise with the lives of the people he was supposed to be leading?
This thought has plagued Sunday ever since he exiled himself from Penacony, since he joined the Astral Express in a journey of self-discovery and reflection, embracing the Nameless lifestyle so he can broaden the horizons that Penacony had restricted. There, he was so detached from the reality of the people he was trying to help, so trapped in a whirlwind of his own ideals to experience humanity, too buried in official duties to rejoice in the many wonders of the universe, the simple pleasures and the grandiose ones.
Since boarding, the former head of the Oak Family has experienced humiliation, desperation, and many close calls with death. It seems he underestimated how easily trouble found the Trailblazers, and the diary he carries with him has been updated with multiple entries, filled with exasperated recounts that ended with him being grateful that he is still well and unscathed.
Sunday has also experienced laughter, connection, and the bond of humankind- something he did not have before. When he controlled the Oak Family, had everyone under or at his fingertips, the only person he could depend on was himself. When Robin left to travel the cosmos, what was he to do than learn the bitter truth of independence and self-sufficiency?
Yet, he sits on the couches of the Astral Express and there is bound to be another by him, trying to converse with him like an old friend. He is mentioned in the conversations like an individual who they keep around because they want to, not because he is crafty, not because of what he can offer. No, he can’t offer anything right now, and the crew still wants him to stay.
He learns more about humanity with each passing day.
However, perhaps one of the more puzzling feelings Sunday has had to confront was… infatuation.
It’s a tricky feeling. It sends his heart into overdrive and his limbs to become jelly, and at the epicentre of this hurricane of uncharted territory, is you.
“Sunday?” Your voice comes through muffled from the other side of the door. He almost jumps off his mattress at the sound.
“Door is open,” he responds as calmly as possible, heart thrumming alive at the sound of your voice, beating in time with the rapid succession of your knocks.
The door slides open slowly to reveal you on the other side. “Pom Pom just wanted to let everyone know that we will be jumping soon.”
“I see, thank you for letting me know.”
“No problem,” your gaze then flickers to the angels that flock around him and he watches as your eyes gleam with fascination.
Then, without any hesitation or reluctance, you enter his room and approach him, the door sliding closed without your weight to hold it open. You stop before him without a bow, without a formal greeting of ‘Mr. Sunday’- no, you stop before him like an equal, which you most certainly are. In fact, he would even think of himself below you, but Sunday needs to unlearn this assumption of hierarchy, needs to not let it define the relationships he forms, even if he looks up to you and finds you reverent.
“Hey, I’ve never seen these little guys before!” You exclaim, sticking out a hand to act like a perch for the angel-like summons. One of them flits up to you and stays on your outstretched finger. “Well, not this close, at least.”
It keens at your praise. Like owner like summon, Sunday supposes.
“I don’t tend to bring them out. They are for combat purposes,” he explains.
Your eyes widen slightly. “Are you trying to pick a fight with me right now?”
“What? No! That’s not it-”
“-I’m kidding, Sunday,” you snicker. “We’re friends, I wouldn’t want to fight you.”
“Right,” he exhales, “I wouldn’t want to fight you either.”
“Besides, we already did once.”
He freezes at the memory, remembers when he got hit with the exact train he is currently boarding.
You, however, are unphased by the recollection, and even continue to rub salt in the wound. “I remember fighting against these little summons too, your owner was a real meanie, do you guys know that?”
They flock around you, spinning and fluttering like little fireflies.  Instinctively, Sunday covers his flustered expression with his wings, and he doesn’t budge, even when he hears your laugh, the sound almost enough for him to melt into a puddle by your feet.
“Hey, hey, I was kidding, sorry if I took the joke too far.”
He uncovers himself with an embarrassed sigh, not meeting your eyes. “It’s okay, I think the memory is just… humiliating, more than anything.”
“There are no more hard feelings. Everyone has accepted you on board and none of us think of you to be the same person you were when we first met, I promise.”
Your words are completely earnest, Sunday knows it, can feel it in the way you tell him so unabashedly. So who is he to deny it?
“Thank you,” he says, finally looking up at you, “it means a lot to hear that.”
“I’ll say it as much as you need. Well, I’ll get out of your hair now, just prepare for the jump-”
Your sentence is interrupted by a shriek when you lose your footing, and Sunday feels it too, the force so strong that even he, while sitting, feels as if is being stretched and pulled into a miniscule hole. What he also feels is your body colliding on top of his, and his hands come to your waist to catch you in an attempt to prevent you from slipping, but it’s not enough and he’s falling with you onto the expanse of his made bed.
The Express is warping to some expanse of the universe, and his stomach drops at the sensation, spreading to the ends of his nerves before disappearing, just replaced by the extremely odd feeling of being pulled through the stars. He just hopes you’re comfortable, standing up whilst warping is tough, he heard the stories of when Stelle first tried to do it and how she fell flat on her face.
When the feeling of normality returns and Sunday doesn’t feel like he has been stretched out, he opens his eyes and tries to take in the sight before him.
You. Your face. Centimetres away from his.
He’s always thought you were pretty, but seeing you this close… perhaps just pretty is an understatement. His gaze unwillingly flicks to your lips and he wished he hadn’t because suddenly the urge to sit up and lick into your mouth is raging; a fire that can’t be contained.
Sunday wants you to push him down by the shoulders, with no gentleness or mercy, and just… devour him whole. His hands want to find you by the hips and pull you into him more than humanly possible, he wants you to indent yourself onto him so he can remember your taste forever, so that, in a way, you couldn’t ever leave him.
Alternatively, he would happily flip around and pin you against the mattress. He would pry you open, explore the cavern of your mouth with his tongue and suck your sacred essence out of you so that it can stay and settle in his bones instead, replacing where marrow should be. He wants to lay you vulnerable so his hands can explore places only you want him to touch, wants to take you so that you stay forever, wants to feel your tongue against his, wants to hold your face and feel how you react when he takes his time cherishing you, revering you.
This feeling is too much, these thoughts are overpowering, yet nothing has ever been more clear. Sunday wants you, lusts for you, even, and he’s never felt so intensely for someone before.
How would the symphonies sound when they learn of the atrocities he wants to perform?
Temptation holds him close and infects him with a desire so strong, he’s practically frozen in place as you recover from the shock, holding yourself up with your arms that were on either side of his head.
“Ow, I’m sorry!” You immediately exclaim, before realising exactly what position you are in, your chests are pressed together, and you’re mortified to think about how close you were before you picked yourself off him, and- his… his hips… are pressed against yours- okay, you needed to leave as soon as possible.
You scramble off him like he had burnt you, frantically shouting apologies whilst doing so, the words clumsy and rushed, but neither of you can deny how you miss the warmth that was suddenly ripped away.
(If he wanted to, you could have stayed in that position with him.)
Then, before you could get anymore thoughts, you turn and practically bolt out of his room without another word, leaving a hot and bothered Sunday behind.

age-appropriate beauty activities🧼🐤🛁
Tumblr media
hi guyssss this is basically a post of some cute activities to do while you're regressed, but are health/beauty/hygiene related. sometimes when we're little, doing things like applying makeup isn't a good idea, because it could go in our mouths, or we could poke ourselves, etc.! this post is a list of things you can do to still fill that need while being safe. these activities can also help you regress 🫧🧼🐤🛁🌟🧽🐳🐠✨🪮
!! will be editing post as i think of more stuff !! small tw for EDs at the bottom
THIS POST IS NOT FOR YOU IF YOU ARE A NSFW OR K!NK ACCOUNT
ages 2-5 🫧🧼🐤 🫧brushing/combing hair, your own or a doll's 🫧styling hair your own or a doll's 🫧hair clips, bows, headbands 🫧chapstick 🫧lip gloss  🫧lotion  🫧bubble bath  🫧body glitter 🫧bath bombs  🫧fun scented body wash, shampoo, and conditioner  🫧nail polish 🫧 fun shaped loofahs 🫧 fun towels 🫧 play dress-up! 🫧pretend makeup (plastic eyeshadow, plastic lipstick, plastic blush, etc) 🫧pretend hair tools (straightener, curler) 🫧video games where you can style hair, paint nails, or apply makeup 🫧draw/print a picture and add hair, nail polish, or makeup to it

what is NEVER okay, no matter your big or little age⛔🚫👎 🚫starving yourself 🚫 engaging with diet culture in general 🚫comparing yourself and your eyes, hair, makeup, face, beauty, etc. to others 🚫 hurting yourself to look more beautiful 🚫not taking proper safety precautions (for example if you are clumsy without a cg, then make sure you have one around when handling hot tools!) 💗 your body, your face, your lack of hygiene, does not make you less of a regressor or less of a person. we all struggle and we are all beautiful in our own ways. i hope by taking care of yourself like this you can appreciate and show yourself some love!
→ where can i buy some of these things? ✨ you can get a lot of cheap makeup, hair accessories, and hairbrushes at the dollar store, toy stores, or claire's! ✨ i would NOT recommend putting dollar store makeup on your face if you have sensitive skin, but it's okay for giant barbie head. she has special skin that doesn't get irritated and is happy to model it for you!! ✨ toy makeup you can obviously get at toy stores or online, and it's pretty easy to DIY some ✨you can get fun scented soaps and lotions at the dollar store (sometimes), department stores such as walmart or target, claire's and bath and body works. ✨ bath bombs can be found at lush and department stores ✨ face masks/skincare for kids: department stores, claire's, toy stores (maybe? haven't checked) ✨ sticker earrings, rhinestones, temporary tattoos: claire's, online, toy stores
→ help! i used a new soap/lotion/etc. and now my skin is irritated! oh, no, i'm so sorry!!! you should let your cg know, if you have one. then also check the bottle for instructions on what to do. it will probably say wash the area with mild, non irritating soap and warm water. discontinue use of the product as well! you will most likely be okay after removing it from your skin. and remember to never drink or consume any cosmetic item, no matter how yummy it smells or looks or even TASTES :0 i hope this was fun to read and you get to do fun stuff !!! say safe everyone, i love u, and i'm taking suggestions as well for stuff to add!! lots of love 💗🪽

Tumblr media
“I swear, Mom, I’m not getting married anytime soon,” you had said for what felt like the hundredth time. Your mother, however, didn't seem to hear you anymore, her eyes fixed on the wedding photo album you had been trying to avoid.
“You’re almost twenty-eight! Your cousin got married last month, and your aunt is already planning your other cousin’s wedding!” She sighed, flipping to yet another photo of the happy couple. “When will it be your turn?”
You pressed your lips together, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. She didn't get it. How could she? After the five-year relationship that ended in disaster, you hadn't exactly been eager to dive back into another serious relationship. And so, you said what you always said, a little more exasperated each time: “I’m seeing someone, Mom. We’re just waiting for the right time. It’s complicated right now.”
Tumblr media
She narrowed her eyes, unimpressed as always, knowing you're just lying. “Oh? And who is this mysterious boyfriend of yours? Where is he, huh? Why can’t we meet him?”
“I told you, it’s complicated.”
You could see your mom’s gears turning, and you knew exactly where this was heading. “Well, if you’re really serious about him, maybe it's time you finally introduce us. You know, to make sure he’s a good man.”
Crap. You hadn't thought this through.
Your dad, who had been uncharacteristically quiet, chimed in from his chair, not looking up from his newspaper. “Is he from a good family? Are you sure he has the right intentions?”
"Yes, of course!" you said, possibly too cheerfully. Your eyes did a quick tour of the room as if they were looking for a fire alarm to pull. Naturally, your mom leaned in closer.
“Tell us his name, and we’ll go visit him. We can meet him at his work if that's more convenient.”
Tumblr media
It was one thing to talk about a boyfriend they hadn't met, and it’s another for them to demand to meet him. Panicked, you blurted out the first name that came to your mind, “Jeonghan. His name is Jeonghan. He works at Mirage Café down the street.” You winced internally at the sound of the name. Jeonghan? Really? That’s what I said? I needed to come up with a name and that’s what my brain goes with? Not something easy, not some basic, common name, but Jeonghan?!
There was a beat of silence and you could practically hear the wheels in your mom’s head moving, and then she smiled, probably thinking she had won. “We’ll go there tomorrow. Let’s see this Jeonghan, then.”
Before you could even think of a way to backpedal, your dad nodded in approval. “Sounds good. We’ll go visit.”
You tried not to make eye contact with your mom as she smiled to herself. “Perfect. We’ll take a trip tomorrow. You’ll be happy that you let us meet him, sweetheart.”
-
The next day had arrived way too fast. You could barely eat breakfast without your stomach churning. Your nerves were through the roof, and the thought of meeting your family at Mirage Café made you want to crawl into a hole and hide forever.
When you and your family arrived, you stood awkwardly at the entrance, mentally kicking yourself for getting into this mess in the first place. Your mom marched ahead, searching for the barista. “Let’s call him, darling. He’s probably busy, right?”
“Right,” you said through a tense smile, not sounding as confident as you’d like.
She waved down a waiter. “Excuse me! Do you know any Jeonghan? He works here, right?”
Your eyes darted across the café as if you were being hunted down. You looked up at the ceiling, pleading with the universe to give you a damn break. Please, please don’t let them see through this lie. You cleared your throat, desperate to steer the conversation in another direction. “Oh, you know... he’s probably not working today. Maybe we should come back another time?” You offered weakly, trying to nudge the waiter into agreeing.
The waiter gave you a confused look. “I’m not sure... but I’ll check.”
Before you could stop him, a voice called out from behind. “Excuse me? Did someone ask for me?”
You turned around to see a tall, impossibly handsome man with an angelic smile walking towards you three. The very same man who had handed you your coffee that morning, you realized. You blinked in shock as his name tag gleamed in the light. Yoon Jeonghan? Oh no. You hadn't paid much attention when he'd taken your order, but your subconscious must have, since his name had been the first you'd thought of. Before anyone could say a word, you did something incredibly stupid. In an instant, you stood up, feeling your face flush hot with panic. You wrapped your arm around his arm, desperately trying to make this look like it had been all planned. “Oh, you're here! Mom, Dad, meet Jeonghan,” you said enthusiastically. “We’ve been together for... two years now.”
Jeonghan’s eyes widened for a split second as he looked at you in confusion, but then, slowly, his lips curled into a smile that was way too charming for your own sanity—far too practiced for how stiff his shoulders had gone. Your mom’s eyes were practically sparkling with excitement, and you could already tell this was going to spiral out of control.
“I didn’t realize you’d be here,” Jeonghan’s voice slid like velvet, but there was a slight corner of confusion below. He shifted his weight, then smiled at your family. “It’s nice to finally meet you all.”
Your mother, bless her heart, was practically glowing. She didn’t even ask what your relationship had been like, or anything that might have made sense, instead, she immediately started making plans. “You two must be so in love!” she gushed. “How did you meet? Tell us everything! Where are you from? What’s your family like?”
You could feel your face burning and really regretted saying two years. Jeonghan, to his credit, didn't seem fazed by her interrogation, though. He just smiled that perfect smile, and before you could say a word, he launched into the most believable, well-thought-out story about how you had met through mutual friends, weaving in little details like how we both loved hiking [which you didn't] and how we once spent an entire rainy weekend binge-watching a series together [you'd never seen it]. Your mom ate it up, of course, nodding approvingly, and you just wanted to die on the spot.
Then, Jeonghan glanced at you with a low-key teasing look, and you could see the corners of his mouth twitching. Is he laughing at me? You couldn't even tell, but just when you thought you might spontaneously combust from the pressure, your dad who had been silently observing, suddenly spoke up. “So, when’s the wedding?”
You blinked, your mind went blank. “Dad!” you blurted out before you could stop yourself. Your voice was a bit too loud, and you caught the eyes of several other patrons in the café who were now all very clearly watching you. Jeonghan took this as his cue to add, “I think we’re still figuring things out,” Jeonghan said smoothly, “but I’ve been thinking next year might be a good time to propose,” and that made you choke on your own saliva.
“Next year?” Your mom’s eyes widened. “Oh, we have to start planning then! I have so many ideas—Y/N, you’ll want a nice, big wedding, won’t you?”
“Uh, I—” you tried to protest and reply with something, but your voice was lost under her excitement.
Once the initial shock of the meeting wore off, and after a painfully long conversation with your family, you eventually managed to escape the café.
You rushed out of the café, heart still pounding from the whirlwind you had just dragged yourself and a complete stranger into. He was standing by the side entrance now, sleeves rolled up, a hand running through his soft, brown hair as he stared off into the street.
You hesitated for a second before calling out, “Hey… um, Jeonghan?” He turned, eyes found yours instantly and then, a faint smile curved at the corners of his lips. “I’m so sorry,” you began, words tumbling out before you could even take a breath. “That was—that was a disaster, and you were just caught in the middle of it. I didn’t even know someone named Jeonghan actually worked here. I just made it up. I didn’t think—I never thought—”
He laughed, a warm sound that made your apology trail off. “I figured,” he said, tilting his head slightly. “Kind of hard to miss how wide your eyes got when I said my name.”
You winced, hands fidgeting in front of you. “Yeah, that’s… that’s fair.”
There was a pause before he nodded toward the café with a shrug. “It was entertaining. Not every day I got introduced as someone’s long-term boyfriend out of nowhere.”
You flushed. “Seriously, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to drag you into this. I just… panicked. My family had been asking about this imaginary boyfriend for ages, and then today, they decided to show up.” You let out a shaky laugh. “And now they think you are him, but I'm really sorry and I won't let it bother you and this was and will be a one time thing. I'll handle them.”
Jeonghan chuckled again but softly. “Well, if you’re really sorry,” he said, brushing imaginary dust from his apron, “you owe me a coffee sometime.”
“Huh?...”
He nodded. “One with my name on it, preferably. Since, you know… it is mine.”
You frowned in confusion. “Your name…?”
He gestured back toward the café. “Café Mirage. It’s mine. The whole chain.”
And you found your eyes going wide again. “Wait, you’re the owner? But you were taking orders like the other staff?”
He smiled as if he was used to that kind of reaction. “I like helping out. Keep things grounded, and it’s nice to be part of the buzz when I’m not buried in paperwork.”
You didn't know what to say to that. Turned out, your imaginary boyfriend was actually a charming, successful café chain owner who somehow hadn't reported you to security yet.
He pulled his phone out of his apron pocket and handed it to you. “Number?”
You blinked again. “You’re serious?”
He smirked. “You owe me, remember?”
You reluctantly typed in your number, thumb hovering over the final digit for a moment before committing to it. As you handed his phone back, he leaned in slightly, just close enough that his breath brushed against your cheek.
“Well,” he murmured teasingly, “that was interesting.”
You winced, glancing over your shoulder where your family was still chatting excitedly inside the café. “They get… a little overenthusiastic.”
Jeonghan straightened, grinning because he found the whole thing more amusing than inconvenient. “Yeah,” he said, pocketing his phone, “I can see that.”
You were about to apologize again, but he just waved you off and started heading back inside, leaving you standing there completely dazed.
You shrugged and headed back inside, trying to school your expression. Your dad was reaching for something in his pocket—which you assumed to be his wallet—you hurried over to him. “Dad, did you already pay? If not, I can—”
Before you could finish, your mother cut in with a pleased smile. “No need, darling. It was on the house.”
Your stomach twisted slightly. On the house? You glanced toward the counter, politely excusing yourself from your parents. “I’ll just go… thank someone real quick.”
You made your way to the front, where a woman in a black apron stood, busy typing something into the POS system. You cleared your throat, and she looked up with a kind smile.
“Hi,” you said, “um… is Jeonghan still around?”
“Yes, ma'am,” she said with a nod. “One moment, I’ll call Mr. Yoon.”
You stepped aside, waiting near a shelf of pastries, your fingers fidgeting with the strap of your bag. A few seconds later, you heard footsteps behind you.
“Back so soon?”
You turned to face him, lowering your voice as you took a small step to the side, away from the counter. “Yeah. Just… I wanted to thank you again, and also to say… about the bill… you really didn’t have to do that. I can pay, honestly. I want to pay.”
He raised an eyebrow, arms folding loosely across his chest. “So you’re saying you want to pay after pretending I was your boyfriend?” You opened your mouth to protest, but he grinned and held up a hand. “Look,” he said, kindly, “it’s on the house. Just consider it my treat—call it payment for the entertainment. All you need to do is show up the day you decide to buy me that coffee.”
You bit your lip, half-smiling despite yourself. “Are you always this stubborn?”
Jeonghan shrugged playfully. “Only when I want something.”
“Okay, thank you. Seriously.” You nodded, finally giving in.
“Anytime.”
You glanced over your shoulder and saw your family was already getting up, chattering excitedly near the door. “I should go,” you said. “They’re probably already planning our wedding.”
Jeonghan laughed at that. “I look forward to hearing all about it.”
You chuckled, stepping back. “I’ll see you soon then. For the coffee.”
“I’ll be waiting,” he said, voice sounding calm and warm.
-
You slumped onto your bed, the towel still wrapped loosely around your shoulders, your hair damp and sticking to the back of your neck. It had been three days since that café incident. Three whole days and not a single text. Why had he taken your number if he wasn’t going to use it?
You sighed and rolled onto your side, staring at the soft glow of your phone screen. Was he just being nice? Had he thought your lie was pathetic and this was his way of backing out gracefully? You groaned and buried your face into the pillow. You owed him a coffee anyway, and maybe it was time to just go to the café tomorrow, buy him the damn drink, apologize again, and vanish from his life forever like the myth you accidentally became.
Just as you were scripting your own disappearance, there was a soft knock at your door.
“Come in,” you mumbled, voice muffled in pillow fluff.
The door creaked open and your mom stepped in, holding a tall glass of milk filled all the way to the brim. She made her way to your bedside table, carefully placing the glass down. “Your hair’s still wet,” she scolded lightly, tsking as she brushed a few strands back. “You’ll catch a cold like this.”
You only just hummed in response to her. Despite your age, despite the adult life you lived outside these walls, your parents still treated you like their little girl. You were only living with them again because your workplace was closer to their house than your apartment, and… because they had missed their only child. You had missed them too.
Your mom sat on the edge of the bed for a second, smoothing the blanket over your legs like she used to when you were small. You glanced at her, at the lines time had etched onto her face, and that stirred a fragile kind of love and bittersweet warmth in your chest. Your parents hadn't had the easiest childhoods. They didn't talk about it much, but you knew. Maybe that was why they tried so hard to give you the life they hadn't gotten, and they did it really well. Your dad, especially, was the reason your standards were sky high. He treated both you and your mom like queens. Not princesses, Queens. He never made either of you feel small, and even when there wasn’t much money, there had always been love and that love felt like a warm blanket fresh out of the dryer.
That was why it had hurt so much when you didn’t listen to them about your ex. They knew he wasn’t right for you, they had seen the signs which you hadn't. You were too in love—or what you thought had been love. Even after it all had come crashing down, your parents didn’t say, I told you so. They didn’t shut you out, instead they pulled you in closer and protected you. They never brought him up again, and just silently patched you up with love, like they always did. You still remembered the way your dad’s jaw had clenched when he had seen you cry, and the way your mom had stroked your hair and pretended not to be crying with you.
You blinked back the sudden sting in your eyes. Your mom patted your thigh, smiling at you like she already knew you had been spiraling before she came in. “Dry your hair properly, okay? And drink the milk.”
You nodded slowly, “Thanks, Mom.”
She got up and walked to the door, pausing before she left. “You’ll be okay, you know. Whatever’s bothering you... it’ll pass.”
You nodded again, because she was always right.
The door clicked shut behind her. You sat up, reached for the milk, and took a sip. You were still annoyed that Jeonghan hadn't texted yet, but maybe tomorrow, you would go see him just to return the gesture.
You were halfway through your milk and mindlessly scrolling Instagram when a text from an unknown number suddenly lit up your screen.

You walked into the café wearing something casual and comfortable which was feminine but not too much, something that still felt put together without trying too hard. You glanced around, your eyes instinctively landing on the floor-to-ceiling windows. The natural light poured in like a warm hug, and you chose a table by the glass, giving you a perfect view of the area outside.
Barely two minutes passed before you spotted him. He was walking toward you, but no apron this time, just a simple outfit that still made him look unfairly good. His hair was slightly tousled, a few strands falling perfectly over his forehead, and there was that ridiculously sweet and disarming smile gracing his lips. He definitely knew the effect he had on people and didn't even try to hide it.
He stopped in front of you. “I’ve got a better spot for us,” he says softly, nodding for you to follow him.
You stood and trailed behind him as he led you deeper into the café, away from the area you had been in a few seconds ago and into a semi-private space tucked to the side. The vibe was warm soft beige and creamy whites, cozy lighting, and a calm atmosphere that immediately made you feel at home.
Once seated, Jeonghan flashed another smile. “What do you want to order? My treat.”
“But I’m here to treat you, remember?” You said.
“Exactly,” he grinned. “You’re already getting the coffee. Let me at least cover the dessert.”
You started to argue, but he gave you that playfully persuasive look, and insisted until you finally gave in and settled on tiramisu.
The conversation flowed easily after that. You talked about your work, your absurd deadlines, your coworkers’ obsession with bubble tea. He told you stories about running the café chain, how he sometimes snuck into different branches just to work as a barista because he missed the human side of it. There was both laughter and comfortable silences rising between you, and before you knew it, he had completely disarmed you.
Then, as you were taking a sip of your latte, he leaned forward just a bit and said it; softly but with no hesitation. “I think I fell in love with you the first time I saw you.”
You nearly choked on your latte. “W-What?”
He chuckled but didn't take it back. “I’m serious. You were pretty and nervous, trying to save face in front of your family... but there was something about you that just stuck to me.”
Your heart stirred, but not enough to change where it was currently locked away. You set your cup down gently. “Jeonghan, you seem like a good man… and you’re,” you gestured vaguely at him, “well, unfairly handsome, if I'm being honest, but… I’ve closed off that part of my heart for a while, and I’m not ready to open it yet.”
He didn't ask why or pry, he just smiled that same soft understanding smile. “I figured you’d say that. So how about a deal?”
You tilted your head. “A deal?”
“I’ll keep playing the part of your boyfriend anytime your family needs to see me.” He paused, letting the silence stretch. “But you give me 100 days.”
“One hundred days for what?”
“For me to woo you,” he said, eyes gleaming in a way that shook you a little more than you’d like to admit. “No pressure and definitely no expectations, just let me try. That’s all.”
You hesitated, looking down at your hands. “I’m not promising anything, Jeonghan. Like I said, my heart is… closed.” You took a breath, thinking it over; it was too much of a good deal to completely turn down. After a pause, you looked up again. “But I’m not completely closed-minded. If you want to try, you can. Just know I might not change.”
He leaned back with a satisfied smile. “I can work with that.”
You exhaled a soft laugh and nodded. “Alright then. Deal.”
The countdown began.

Day 5 of 100
Your pencil glided across your sketchpad as you worked on a draft for the new balcony design of a hotel lounge. The afternoon light spilled in through the office windows, hitting your page just right as you adjusted the lines of the railing. You were lost in thought, debating whether to go for a rustic wood finish or a sleek glass border when a paper bag was dropped onto your desk with a soft thud.
“Delivery for you,” a coworker said. “From your boyfriend, apparently.”
Before you could even process, Celeste, your best friend and your cousin, launched up from her seat like she had been electrocuted. She didn't even give you a chance to reach for the bag. “Boyfriend?! Excuse me—the fuck do you mean boyfriend?” she exclaimed, already halfway through tearing open the top of the paper bag. “When the hell did you get a boyfriend? I thought you were done with love! You said you were done with love!”
You exhaled sharply, snatching the bag from her hand before she could dig in further. “Cel, can you not violate my lunch?”
“So it is lunch! And it’s from him!” she paused then looked at you accusingly, “who even is him? And why do I not know about this?”
You glanced down, eyebrows raising when you saw a folded note tucked inside, the handwriting a neat scrawl: Don’t skip meals today. — Jeonghan
You honestly weren’t expecting to hear from him after that coffee—maybe in a week or so. So when a paper bag landed on your desk today, the very next day, your brain had to short-circuit. You swallowed, the corners of your lips twitching, and pulled out the lunch box. Inside was a beautifully packed meal—teriyaki chicken with seasoned rice, grilled veggies, and a small matcha cookie tucked in on the side. Your stomach growled on cue.
Celeste was practically bouncing behind you, peering over your shoulder. “You better start talking before I call your mom.”
You rolled your eyes and gestured to her seat. “Sit the fuck down.”
She obeyed, sliding animatedly into her chair, arms crossed. “I’m listening.”
You sighed, rubbing your temples. “Okay, so… remember how my family’s been bugging me to get married for like… two years?”
“Yeah. They’ve been on your ass because it’s their full-time job.”
“Well,” you started, picking up your chopsticks and stabbing a piece of broccoli, “I kind of told them I already had a boyfriend of two years.”
Her eyes widened. “You lied?!”
“I didn’t mean to lie-lie. I just… said a random name, and said he worked at a café.”
“And?”
“And then my parents dragged me to that café.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“Oh my God—”
“And there actually was a Jeonghan working there.”
She slapped a hand over her mouth. “NO.”
“YES.”
She wheezed.
“And before I could do anything, he walked over, introduced himself to my parents, and I panicked and told them he was my boyfriend.”
Celeste fell sideways in her chair, clutching her chest like it was too much for her weak heart to handle. “This is insane! Keep going.”
You shoved a bite of chicken into your mouth. “Later, I went to apologize to him for the scene and it turns out… he’s the owner of the café chain.”
“What the actual—?!”
“So I took him up on a coffee treat a few days later, and while we were there, he told me he fell in love with me at first sight and made me a deal.” You said and calmly took another bite as Celeste shrieked. “He’ll fake-date me in front of my family whenever I need — in exchange for 100 days to woo me.” Now all you heard is silence, and so you glanced at Celeste, who was staring at you like she just witnessed a plot twist in a K-drama in real life. “…You okay?”
She nodded slowly. “I have never been more emotionally fed in my life.”
You snort. “Well, now get physically fed before I steal your lunch.”
-
Juggling your sketchpad under one arm and your nearly dead phone in your other hand, you found the front door was locked, which was weird because your parents were always home this time of day. Frowning, you unlocked it and pushed the door open.
The first thing you saw was a note, stuck right on the shoe rack in your dad’s familiar handwriting: Buy a bouquet of flowers on your way to your aunt’s. Don’t stay home—come straight there.
Your brows furrowed as you stepped in and dropped your bag. You instinctively reached for your phone to call your mom but of course it had finally died. You stared at it for a few seconds before groaning. With a reluctant sigh, you grabbed your charger for later, locked the door again, and left for your aunt’s.
-
You had expected a cozy dinner with maybe a few people. Instead, you were hit with the sound of dozens of voices the moment you stepped into the front gate. Laughter, chatter, shoes—a mountain of them—outside the door. You walked in and it was everyone. Uncles. Aunts. Cousins you hadn't seen in months. Your second cousin from abroad was there too. It was a family gathering, you realised. You blinked, recovered quickly and offered a polite smile and greeting to anyone who turned toward you. You bowed your head, murmuring ‘Hellos,’ as you shuffled through the familiar hallway, doing your best to keep your confusion hidden.
You finally found your mom in the kitchen, pulling roasted chicken from the oven. She turned around and let out a tiny yelp when she saw you. “Oh— you scared me!”
You immediately reached forward and steadied the pan in her hand. “Sorry! That could’ve burned you.”
She exhaled in relief, then smiled wide. “Everyone’s been waiting for you. Go change and plate the dishes, okay?”
You didn't move. “Wait. What is going on? Why is everyone here? Why didn’t you tell me we were coming here today?”
She looked at you, confused. “I did tell you. I sent you a text this afternoon. I told you we were all coming to celebrate your cousin’s graduation. Everyone’s in town.”
You stared at her, stunned for a moment, then groaned. “Oh my God—I didn’t see it. My phone’s been flooded with client messages and drafts and edits and now it’s dead and—ugh.”
As you were about to turn around and change, your mom gasped, her eyes going wide. “Don’t tell me Jeonghan’s not with you!”
You froze mid-step. “...What?”
“I told the family your boyfriend would be coming too. I wrote it in the text. You didn’t see that either?”
You facepalmed so hard it echoed. “Obviously I didn’t. Why would you tell them he’s coming?!”
“I thought he was! It would be so cute for everyone to meet him tonight.”
Your heart lurched. This is bad, this is very bad. “I’ll fix it,” you muttered and spun on your heel, practically running through the hallway. You darted into a spare room and locked the door behind you and slumped against it for a second. You plugged your phone in and the screen flickered to life. 1% and you didn't wait, your fingers were already flying across the screen as you found Jeonghan’s number and pressed ‘Call.’
“Hey,” his voice came through, warm and a little sleepy.
You didn't let him finish. “Jeonghan, I’m so, so sorry to bother you at this hour—seriously, I wouldn't call unless it was important. Are you busy? Or like… home and maybe willing to go on a sudden field trip?”
He chuckled. “Hey, breathe. What happened?”
You exhaled shakily. “So apparently—my cousin graduated and the entire extended family is at my aunt’s place. My mom had texted me about it but I hadn't seen it because my phone was dying and drowning in work notifications. And now I’m here, and so is everyone.”
“Okaaay…”
“And my mom—bless her—told the whole family you were coming… as my boyfriend.”
There was a beat of silence and you cringed. “So… you want me to come over and save you?”
“YES, Jeonghan. Everyone’s here. My uncles, aunts, their kids, and my mom just dropped, ‘Don’t tell me Jeonghan’s not here with you!’ I’m two seconds away from faking a stomach ache and crawling out the window.” You heard him laugh lightly as you blabbered on. “I’m seriously sorry,” you apologized again, your voice small. “Can you—would you maybe come over? You don’t have to stay long, just… show face, say some sweet things about me, eat a cookie, and then disappear. Please?”
Jeonghan hummed thoughtfully. “Hmm...”
“I’m begging you, Jeonghan. I swear I owe you so much after this. You can blacklist me from your café if you want, I’ll go willingly.”
He laughed again, soft and amused. “You don’t need to beg. I got you. Send me the address.”
“Really?”
“Of course,” he said easily. “I told you I’d play the boyfriend whenever you needed me. I’m on my way.”
“You’re the best. Like actually the best. I owe you dinner, bubble tea, and a kidney.”
“I’ll take the bubble tea. Keep your kidney.”
You were already typing the address with trembling fingers. “On it. Thank you. I mean it.”
“I know,” he teased. “Now hurry up before your aunt tries to set you up with your cousin’s dentist or something.”
You groaned. “Don’t even joke about that.”
He just laughed again, and the call ended. Now, all you had to do was survive the next twenty minutes of nosy relatives until your fake boyfriend-slash-lifeline walked through that door.
So, what was the next best distraction? Your little cousins, of course.
You made your way to the living room where a couple of them were sprawled on the floor playing some weird version of Uno that definitely didn't follow official rules. You crouched beside them and instantly snatched a card from the youngest, who gasped and tried to get it back while shouting, “Unfair! You’re not even playing!”
“That’s because I’m a wildcard,” you smirked, holding the card high above your head while the others laughed. You spent the next few minutes stirring up chaos like, peeking at their cards, mixing up the draw pile, and accusing them of cheating just to mess around. They were yelling at you, but laughing too hard to mean it. It was the perfect distraction from your own nerves for the night.
That was, until you heard footsteps and a familiar voice that made you groan. “Well, well, well... I hear someone’s boyfriend will be here soon.”
You whipped your head around to see Celeste strolling into the room, a smug little smirk curling her lips as she sauntered up to you. She bumped your hip lightly with hers and raised her brows in exaggerated curiosity. You cussed her under your breath through a clenched smile, already bracing yourself. Unfortunately, your aunts were quicker than your panic.
“Oh, he's coming tonight, right?” one piped up from the couch.
“We’ve been dying to meet him!” another added cheerfully, leaning forward.
You internally screamed but plastered on a polite smile. “Yes, he’s… on his way.” Before the interrogation could go any further, you grabbed Celeste's wrist and muttered, “Excuse us,” before dragging her away from the living room crowd, down the hallway and toward a corner near the bathroom. “You’re actually insane,” you hissed once you were alone. “Why would you bring him up?! They were quiet, Celeste. They were probably forgetting!”
Celeste just giggled, “I’m sorry, I had to. You know I’ve been dying to meet the guy who managed to sneak past your titanium heart.”
You groaned and rubbed your forehead. “First of all, you already know it’s not like that. Second of all—okay, listen—this is what happened.” You exhaled and spilled the entire story from start to finish: how your phone had died, how you hadn't read your mom’s text about tonight’s gathering, how she’d apparently told everyone that Jeonghan would be joining, and how you had called him to come save your ass.
Celeste listened wide-eyed and gasped at all the right moments, nodding along. “So he’s at least coming, right?!”
“Yes,” you sighed. “And please don’t make it worse. Don’t act like this is some grand romance. He’s doing me a favor, okay?”
“Mhm,” she hummed with a sarcastic grin. “Of course, of course.”
Before you could smack her with a dish towel, Joshua, her long-term boyfriend, showed up with his usual sweet smile. “Hey, sorry to interrupt the secret meeting,” he said, wrapping an arm around Celeste's waist. “But I’m gonna steal her for a sec. Your mom’s calling you, by the way.”
You nodded and smiled politely at him. “She probably wants to scold me again.”
Joshua chuckled and led Celeste away as you headed back to find your mom. As expected, she was standing by the kitchen counter, hands on her hips. “Did you have to rile up the kids like that?” she asked, though her tone is more bemused than angry.
You rolled your eyes playfully. “They started it.”
“Go plate the dishes,” she said, trying to hide her smile at your childish behaviour. “And behave.”
You grabbed the fried rice and sides, neatly plating them and arranging them on the dining table. The smell was warm and rich and comforting, but it still didn't calm your nerves.
Ding dong.
You nearly launched yourself down the hallway to the front door, ignoring everyone’s curious glances behind you. There was only one person you were hoping to see on the other side, so you reached for the handle and opened it and—thank god—there he was. Jeonghan; your lifeline for the night. Your heart might have been closed... but damn, it still knew how to skip.
Jeonghan stood tall and effortlessly charming in a beige cardigan over a white shirt, sleeves rolled to his elbows. A silver chain peeked just slightly from under his collar. He was holding a bouquet: roses and baby’s breath, just like your mom's type, and was wearing a calm smile like he hadn't just agreed to join a family gathering at the last minute.
“You’re… kinda late,” you muttered, your hand still on the doorknob, but your heart was doing somersaults from relief.
He leaned slightly forward, the smile growing. “I brought flowers. That buys me five minutes of forgiveness, right?”
You snorted under your breath and grabbed his wrist, pulling him inside quickly before anyone else saw him and turned this into a press conference, but you knew it was too late when you heard a chorus of gasps and not-so-quiet whispers rise like a wave from the living room.
“Oh, he’s so handsome,” someone whispered.
“Is that him?!”
Your aunt gasped. “He looks just like a celebrity—”
“Is that the Jeonghan?” one of your cousins said in awe.
Jeonghan’s eyes swept over the room politely which happened to be straight ahead from the main door before turning to you with a smug little glint in his eye. “You didn’t tell me it was going to be a fan meeting.”
“Oh come on,” you murmured under your breath, forcing a smile so strained you swore your cheeks might just snap as your relatives descended like hawks circling prey.
He slipped off his shoes, and just as he was about to step onto the wooden floor in his socks, one of your aunts rushed to the door. Her eyes practically sparkled as she beamed at her niece’s so-called ‘secret boyfriend.’ You, the niece who apparently had hidden him away for two years. Without hesitation, she bent down and placed a pair of white guest slippers in front of him. Jeonghan gave her a smile so sweet it could rot teeth, and you realized he'd never be one to falter in charm. You’d admit it, no matter how many times you saw it, he really did have a beautiful smile.
As you both stepped inside, the small herd of kids and elders who had been in the living room just a minute ago, started trailing behind you. You started feeling a little self-conscious. It had been two years since you last dated anyone, and suddenly you couldn't remember how you used to act with Minho, your now ex boyfriend. If you thought about it, two years was a long time; long enough to forget the feel of someone’s hand in yours, or how you used to laugh back then when they were around. But memory had a cruel sense of loyalty, because it never forgot the pain.
How had you even fallen for someone like Minho? Someone who had pursued you first, only to break you later. If you could go back, you’d beg yourself not to say anything that night, to stay strangers.
As you poured Jeonghan a glass of water, your thoughts still swirling, you barely noticed him watching you. He smoothly tugged at the hem of your sleeve, Are you okay? his eyes asked.
You glanced at him and smiled, the smallest shake of your head telling him you were fine, even if you weren't entirely sure it was true.
Just then, your mom appeared in the living room, eyes wide and lit up with relief and happiness when she spotted Jeonghan sitting on the couch. “Oh lord!” she exclaimed, rushing over to you both. “I went to the bathroom for one second—one second, and missed the chance to greet you properly!” Her hands fluttered as she talked, clearly flustered. She was genuinely upset, as though it was absurd that she actually left the moment before Jeonghan rang the bell. The timing was almost too poetic, but that was your mom for you.
She clapped her hands then and ushered everyone to the dining room. “It’s so late now, come on, come on—everyone to the table. Dinner’s ready!”
You and Jeonghan followed her, along with the rest of your extended family. The dining table, of course, wasn't nearly big enough for this many people, so the kids were more than happy to scatter to the living room where the TV held more importance than proper seating.
It was funny how easily you were getting along with Jeonghan. He didn’t seem intimidating when you first met him, but still, you didn’t expect to feel this comfortable around him so soon. This was only the third time you had seen him in person, and yet it felt like you had known him longer. Too long maybe, and too close too fast. You had learned your lesson the hard way. You try not to get attached to people anymore, or at least not easily or carelessly like you did before. And yet... here you were, telling yourself he was just a friend. A good one, sure—genuine, polite, naturally teasing in a way that didn't sting. Like just now, when he handled your relatives’ questions with ease. It made you wonder if he had rehearsed all this in front of a mirror.
They were asking him how you two had met, or, to rephrase it correctly—how he had met the love of his life, as one particularly nosy aunt put it. He was smooth with his answers though, like he had been back at the café when he first met your parents. His voice was calm, a smile curved so sincere, and in some way, every word he said sounded real like it actually had happened. You blinked, trying to hold onto the moment, because truth be told, nothing like what he was saying ever had happened with Minho; not even close. That boy never even tried, and still, despite all the pain he had left you with, despite the way he did you dirty and walked away without a shred of guilt, he still lived rent-free in the back of your mind.
You glanced back at Jeonghan, now answering what he did for a living and why he never had appeared by your side before. His words were golden, the kind that had your relatives gushing and giggling. Words that belonged in fairy tales. But he was no prince, and those stories didn't exist in real life.
You sighed, picking at the little pile of broccoli on the edge of your plate. You hated broccoli. No matter how it was cooked, it tasted so bitter, bitter like betrayal. But you ate it anyway because your mom would scold you if you didn't. So you pushed through, chewing your fourth and final piece like a true soldier that you were. What you did love, however, was carrots. Carrots were divine. And apparently, Jeonghan had taken notice of that.
Just as you were about to take another bite, two sets of chopsticks appeared over your rice bowl at the exact same time, both holding out perfectly cooked carrot slices. You paused, blinking, your eyes following the utensils back to their owners. Your dad. And Jeonghan.
Smiling, you glanced at your father first, but he wasn't looking at you. He was looking at Jeonghan—with a raised brow and that intimidating dad stares only fathers like yours could master. You shifted your eyes to Jeonghan next. He met your gaze, smiled still gently as ever, and dropped the carrot into your bowl before lowering his chopsticks. He didn't even flinch under your dad’s stare. Your father held his gaze for another second, then, wordlessly, added his carrot to your bowl too.
Shy and oddly happy, you pulled your rice bowl closer to your face, half hiding behind it, trying to focus on eating so no one saw your flustered expression. The table erupted into hushed chuckles including your mom, because she couldn't help herself but to throw marriage blessings your way. People nodded and laughed, and soon everyone shifted focus back to their food, making sure neither you nor Jeonghan felt awkward.
But in the middle of it all, there was one thing no one noticed.
The small, soft smile curved at the corner of your father’s lips. Because no matter how much of a threat Jeonghan might have seemed in this little game of hearts, to your father—you had always been his little queen.
-
After dinner, everyone began clearing the table, piling dishes into the sink. Thankfully, dishwashing duties didn't fall under your job description in this house. You were technically a guest too, at least that was the excuse you clung to as you quietly tiptoed away from the mess.
You glanced at the clock. It was well past midnight.
That was when it hit you, you hadn't seen Jeonghan in a while, and worse, you hadn't even offered to walk him out yet. The man probably had sacrificed his peaceful night’s sleep just to show up at your family gathering and play pretend boyfriend. The least you could do was make sure he got home safe and as early as possible… or at least wasn't cornered by another round of interrogation.
You wandered through the halls, gently pushing open doors until you found him sitting cross-legged on the floor of the guest room, now completely claimed by your little cousins and their stuffed animals. You blinked, quietly leaning against the doorframe. He looked oddly at peace there, in a room filled with cartoon blankets and sticky fingers.
One of your younger cousins was enthusiastically chatting with him. “So my birthday is next month!” the little boy said, eyes bright. “You have to come, okay?”
Seriously, how does he do that? Kids, moms… even aunties? God. It’s actually scary how easy it is to like him, you wondered. Jeonghan gave him a soft smile, but you could read the hesitation on his face. He was trying to be polite, trying to find a way to decline without crushing tiny dreams. “That sounds fun,” he said slowly, “but I might need to check with—”
Before he could finish, your cousin cut in with an easy solution. “You can just come with Y/N! You’re her boyfriend, duh. You have to come!”
Jeonghan chuckled softly, but before he could respond, you stepped in from the door and cleared your throat. “Alright, birthday boss,” you said with a playful smile. “Jeonghan’s going to be super busy that day, okay? You’ll have to deal with just me.”
Your cousin looked disappointed for a beat before shrugging with a sigh, “Fine… but please at least don't annoy me that day ”
“Deal,” you said, laughing, as you gestured for Jeonghan to follow you out.
He rose, and followed you through the hallway. You led him around the corner of the house, to the narrow balcony space near the laundry room, just private enough without being suspicious.
He quirked an eyebrow at you that resulted in you giving him a dry look. “What?”
“You really won’t let me come to his birthday?” he queried, lips tilting with amused defiance. “I’ll clear my schedule for the kiddo if that’s what it takes to make my pretend girlfriend’s family happy.”
“You looked uncomfortable. I thought you’d want an easy out.”
“I was uncomfortable because I didn’t know if you were okay with me going,” he said honestly, voice softer. “But if you are, I want to come. It’s not a bother.”
Caught slightly off guard, you tried to blink it away, “I’ll… think about it,” you murmured
“Fair,” he said, leaning against the wall. “So, what’d you really pull me aside for?”
“Oh, I was just gonna tell you to head out before someone tried to chain you to the dining table with dessert.” He snorted, and you glanced at him again, your voice dropping more to the soft range. “Thanks for coming, though. I’m sorry I called last minute and dragged you into this. You were probably asleep, weren’t you?”
“About to be,” he admitted with a laugh. “But it’s okay. I told you, didn’t I? If you ever need saving, just say the word.”
You didn't respond right away, instead you just smiled before whispering, “Let me walk you out.”
He nodded, and turned to walk toward the front door, but just as he was about to reach for the handle, he paused and glanced back. “Where are your parents?” he asked, almost like he just realized he should say goodbye properly.
You tilted your head, scanning the hallway. “They’re probably… somewhere.”
He didn't take your vague answer, though, so he disappeared back down the hall, and a minute later, you heard familiar voices of your mom’s tone and your dad’s low chuckle and then, Jeonghan’s goodbye. Your aunt insisted he stay the night, even offering him an extra toothbrush and spare pajama set, but Jeonghan politely declined, because of course, he knew what was appropriate and what was not.
Still, your mom told him to come by their house sometime, which also happened to be your living space too. He promised he would, and then finally, walked back to the front door where you were waiting for him.
You caught his eyes one last time and bid, “Goodnight, Jeonghan.”
He gave you a little salute as he walked out of the door. “Goodnight.”
You watched as he stepped outside into the quiet of the night, and then you closed the door behind him with a soft click.

Three
Day 8 of 100
You had hoped this would be your winning year. You had landed the job you had always dreamed of, and now, there was a business trip to Italy; something you had kept on your vision board for years. It felt like everything was aligning at last, but luck never played fair. You had misunderstood the timeline because you had thought the trip would be next month. Turns out, it was this week—right on your mother's 45th birthday.
The company was sponsoring everything—flights, accommodations, even the visa. In return, you and your team would be working on a high-level project that could redefine your career portfolio. It was an opportunity you’ve only dreamed of, and yet, here you were, sitting in front of your laptop with the screen glowing in your dim room, torn between the offer and a woman who meant the world to you. You had been planning her birthday for so long. You had wanted this year to be extravagant, joyful, and different. She had always put everyone else first, and this time, you had wanted her to feel like the star of the world.
Your heart ached. Of course, your mother’s happiness was more important than any job title, any overseas project. You were already drafting a polite email to decline the offer when a soft knock tapped on your door.
She entered, holding a glass of milk, wearing that same smile that always reached you before her words did. "I got the mail from your company earlier," she said, sitting on the edge of your bed. "I opened it by mistake, but... I know it's about your trip to Italy." You stayed quiet, already knowing where this was headed. “I know you’re worried about my birthday,” she continued, offering the glass to you. “But listen to me. This trip is important. You’ve worked so hard for this moment, so don’t let it go just because you want to buy me a cake and hang some balloons.”
“Mom, it’s not just a cake and balloons. I wanted to do something big this year. You deserve that,” you whispered.
“Sweetheart, I don’t need big. I just need to know you’re happy and that you’re doing what you love. That’s enough of a gift for me.” You lowered your gaze, hands wrapped around the warm glass. “Go to Italy,” she said firmly. “Prioritize your future. You can celebrate with me next year, or the year after. But right now, it’s your time.”
You nodded, giving up. “Okay… I’ll go.”
She kissed your forehead, a gesture that still made you feel like a child wrapped in safety. And as she left, you sat back, gulping the milk, your heart swelling.
You would always count your stars that she had chosen to be yours, that she was the one you got to call, Mom. Your life had been stitched with love since the moment you were born, her heartbeat syncing with yours. Everything you were, and everything you would become, was because of her, and because of them; your parents. For their love, their sacrifices, their endless belief in your dreams. You were you… because of them.
Just as you were lost in that warm pool of gratitude, your mother broke the silence again. “So… is Celeste going with you?”
You shook your head slightly, “no, she’s not. She’s already involved in another project. It’ll probably just be me and a few others from the team.”
Your mother hummed, nodding. “And… does Jeonghan know?”
You let out a light exhale. “Not yet. I’ll tell him once it’s finalized.”
There was a moment of pause before she spoke again. “You know,” she began with a familiar lilt, “Jeonghan… I really like him. He’s the best boyfriend you’ve had so far. It’s a mother’s instinct.” She chuckled at her own words like she always did when she said something she believed was completely obvious.
You blinked, looking at her, lips parting with a small smile. There was a wave of relief washing over you, because who knew the random name you nervously muttered would actually turn out to be attached to someone like Jeonghan who was decent, polite, respectful. Not a creep. “Yeah,” you muttered, glancing down. “He’s… nice.”
You knew your mother was right, because every boyfriend you had, you ended up walking away from for one reason or another. But when it came to Minho, your parents were obsessively against the relationship, and still, you didn’t care. You didn’t listen. You were too blinded by a love that you now knew was never truly mutual.
Minho was the only man you genuinely, wholeheartedly fell in love with. You dared admit—no one else ever came close. You loved him in a way that scared you, you loved him in a way that consumed you, and yet… he made you so sad.
He was a fucking terrible person, and yet, you loved him more than anyone deserved to be loved if they were going to treat someone the way he treated you. You remembered the nights he left your messages on read, the way he made you feel like your needs were too much, like your softness was some kind of burden he had to bear. You remembered holding your breath during phone calls, hoping today he wouldn’t be in one of his moods, laced with that mockery he always passed off as jokes.
He didn’t scream or break things, but he broke you in pieces so small you didn’t even notice at first. Little digs at your work, guilt-tripping you for being emotional, never showing up when it actually mattered—when you were sick, when your dad was hospitalized, when you cried and said I really need you right now. And he didn’t come. You were fucking dying inside and he didn’t show up. You still remembered how small you felt clutching your phone, praying he would text, but he didn’t. And when he finally did, it was something so simple like, Did you eat? Like he hadn’t gone missing for days, like he didn’t just leave you all alone to drown in pain that he had promised to be there for.
You knew you deserved better, but you didn’t want better. You wanted him to be better. And that was your downfall, because you held onto hope, onto potential, onto memories from the beginning, when he was kind and sweet and said things like I’ve never met anyone like you. But all of that turned to dust the moment you looked closely. He won you over with his words, but it was his actions that made you walk away.
Your parents begged you to let go. Your friends tried to shake some sense into you, but love didn't always listen to reason, and you… you were stupid in love. And now, looking back, the part that hurt most was how long you stayed naive, how long you let him stay in your life, how long you made excuses for him when he didn’t deserve a single one. You hated him, but you hated yourself more for loving him.
Snapping you back, your mother took the empty glass from your hands as she stood up. “Get some sleep, okay?”
You nodded, offering a ‘Goodnight’ before she walked out and closed the door behind her.
Without even glancing back at your laptop or your skincare shelf, you pushed yourself off the bed, trudged into the bathroom, brushed your teeth half-asleep, and threw yourself onto the mattress as soon as you were done.
Your manager in charge was a certified piece of shit. There was no other way to put it. He had been dumping a mountain of unnecessary workload on you for the last three days, which was an obvious attempt to wear you down before the Italy project even began. You know his type; a man who thought women were only good for pretty presentations and coffee runs. It was disgusting. It got under your skin in ways you couldn't even articulate without gritting your teeth.
Right then, he was yelling, loud and pointless. Screaming at you for things that weren't even part of your damn job description—the audacity. Beside you stood Celeste and Seungkwan, both fuming in silence. Their fists were clenched so tightly, you were convinced their fingernails were permanently embedded into their palms. From the corner of your eye, you could see them both with their heads lowered, trying not to explode, but you knew them. If it weren’t for their upcoming promotions hanging in the balance, Seungkwan would’ve already flattened that pitiful nose into something even more pathetic, and Celeste would've kicked him where the sun didn't shine. God bless their restraint. If what they had worked so hard for wasn't hanging by a thread, they would've already thrown hands right there, right then, in front of HR, God, and everyone, and they wouldn’t even have regretted it. They would've walked to the police station whistling.
Just when you thought the day couldn't get any more heated, the CEO walked in. Mrs. Kim. Your boss’s boss. The actual authority in the building; a woman. The very species your manager seemed to despise with his whole shriveled heart, and maybe that was why he was divorced and hadn't gotten laid since forever.
She walked in, looked at the three of you, then her eyes moved to the manager. “What’s going on here?”
Before any of you could speak, he jumped in, sugarcoating everything, and hearing his version of events, how he was ‘just trying to guide his team to success’ made all three of you visibly nauseous.
Seungkwan was the first to speak, voice sweet as syrup but sharp as a knife. “Oh, yes, we're definitely being guided.”
That statement with that tone, made the CEO raise a brow. Celeste didn't wait, she stepped in calmly and confidently. “We understand deadlines, but lately the amount of off-task work being pushed onto us has started affecting the actual projects we’re assigned to. It’s just becoming difficult to prioritize what’s actually important.” She didn't whine or plead, she simply spoke facts with clarity and class.
Mrs. Kim turned to the manager, “why are they doing extra work that doesn’t align with their primary responsibilities? These three are handling a high-level project—one that has international visibility. I expect their full energy to be focused on that.” The manager sputtered, trying to defend himself, but Mrs. Kim shut it down gracefully, yet firmly. “Respect your team. Don’t misuse their time because you misunderstand their value. Let this be the last conversation we have about this.”
A girl’s girl, through and through. A CEO who got it, and as she walked away, Seungkwan muttered under his breath, “I’d die for her.” You didn't even have the strength to laugh, because you were too busy mentally high-fiving her in your head.
Your manager in charge still didn't look remotely ashamed, just let out an ignorant sigh and shooed the three of you away like he was the victim, but whatever, you were too tired to deal with male mediocrity right then, so you just complied.
On the way back to your desks, Seungkwan leaned closer and threw a “Lunch date?” your way. It was actually pretty normal and nothing new. Platonic lunch dates were kind of your and Seungkwan's thing—matching eye rolls and stealing each other’s fries. Celeste might have been your closest cousin, and your ride-or-die since childhood, but Seungkwan was your bestie, your lunch break soulmate, the lawless good to your tired neutral. Who said you needed only one close person when life handed you more than one decent human being?
You nodded at his offer and plopped back into your seat, immediately drawn to the growing pile of papers on your desk, the ones about the Italy trip and your high-profile project. You uncapped your signature green pen [because black and blue are for amateurs] and started scribbling notes. Mid-marking, your phone buzzed, and without thinking, you assumed it was your mom because who else would it have been at that hour aside from Celeste or Seungkwan—and they were right there, but no, it wasn't your mom. It was Jeonghan.
He was asking if you were free for lunch. You glanced at Seungkwan, who was already halfway through planning his order in his head, you texted back.
Tumblr media
You smiled. Sipped the lukewarm coffee from your desk, and went back to highlighting your to-do list.
-
Seungkwan scanned the menu and orders a burger that was apparently ‘new and calling his name’. He recommended the same one to you, so you checked the picture on the menu and yeah, you weren't not gonna lie, it did look scrumptious.
He immediately started ranting about how he was on a diet and how Vernon didn't diet with him, and how that clearly meant Vernon didn't love him enough.
You laughed right in his face. “Vernon doesn’t need to starve himself to prove he loves you, babe.”
Seungkwan glared but sulked in silence, grumbling about how he was probably just in ‘male menstruation mode.’
You took a bite of your burger—he wasn’t wrong, it was divine. But before you could get too far, Seungkwan nearly spat out his iced americano as something suddenly went through his head, “Okay, so Celeste told me you have a boyfriend now? Since WHEN? You literally said, and I quote, ‘I’m done with love.’ Like, girl, what?!”
You gave him a look and shrugged. “You should know better than to believe Celeste with her three and a half brain cells.”
But the truth was, you did say that. Two years ago, drunk off your ass, crying over an asshole, bawling into Celeste’s shoulder, snot and all, swearing off love because it was a contagious disease, and you meant every single thing back then. Part of you still did, you didn't believe love was for you.
You sighed and finally explained what really happened; how Jeonghan became your boyfriend. Fake boyfriend to be, and how Jeonghan, saint that he was, actually agreed to play along.
Seungkwan stared at you for a solid five seconds, then: “Girl… I want to judge you, but I’m weirdly impressed.”
You just groaned and plopped back in your chair, sipping the last of your watered-down coffee.
He then asked if you were going to the team building party that week. “Obviously,” you said, “you think I’d miss out on free food and gossip?” He snorted, satisfied with your, you kinda answer, and the two of you finished up lunch before heading back to the office.
You buried yourself in paperwork, prepping everything for the Italy trip. Your green pen glided across the documents—marking the hotel addresses, underlining budget breakdowns, drawing tiny stars next to notes. You were so into the zone that you didn't notice when your work chat pinged. It was from the front desk. The CEO wanted to see you.
You low-key froze because that was a big deal. It wasn't not everyday the CEO called you up, and while she wasn't the biting-heads-off type, it was still nerve-wracking.
You climbed the stairs—the elevators were reserved for upper management at that time of the day. Classism at its finest. You rolled your eyes, like, please, how much money was the company really saving by keeping one elevator out of use? It was giving ‘penny-pinching villain arc’.
Finally, you reached her office, knocked politely, and heard a warm, come in.
You entered, instantly wrapped in that elegant aura Mrs. Kim always carried. She was poised, sharp, and always smelled like fresh roses and justice; a woman you wanted to write poems about. She smiled. “Have a seat.” You did—respectfully, obediently. She was the boss for a reason.
You’d always admired her, but not just for her presence, but for how she consistently sided with the employees whenever an overzealous senior acted out of line, e.g. like that morning. She knew you by face, name, and the quality of your work, though your interactions had mostly been limited to the occasional office circus or passing greetings in the hallway.
She started, “I know you’ve been reviewing the design documentation for the Italy project,” and you nodded. You updated her on what you’d done so far: layout revisions, material specs, budget adjustments—everything. She nodded along, then sighed lightly. “I’m sorry to throw this at you, but I wanted to speak to you directly. There’s a new assignment,” she paused before continuing again. “I know it’s not what you signed up for right now,” she said, “but a very important client specifically requested you for a new project. He saw your portfolio and won’t take no for an answer.” She continued, “It’s a bar. Both interior and exterior design. He wants it done by you, and only you.”
Men and their obsession with being picky, you muttered in your head.
“But,” she added, “you won’t have to start until after the Italy trip. The schedule is flexible, the budget is very accommodating… and he’s paying double your usual fee.”
Now that caught your attention. “Okay,” you said slowly, “I’ll happily consider it once I check the brief and make sure I’m actually capable of delivering what he wants. I’ll speak to my manager—”
She stopped you there. “Actually, no. You won’t need to discuss it with him. It’s already been approved. The details will be sent once you return from Italy.”
Huh? You nodded, but your brain was half-screaming. This sounded a little too good to be true; great pay, great flexibility, total creative freedom—but no option to say no, and no brief until you’re back? Yeah. Red flag. He might have been rich, but he was still giving mild bastard energy. Still, you nodded again. “Understood.”
You thanked her, left the room, and walked back to your desk. At least the pay was great, all was well for now.
Day 10 of 100
You were wearing a silk ivory blouse with a subtle sweetheart neckline, tucked into high-waisted slate-grey tailored trousers that hugged your waist just right. Over that, a light beige trench coat draped you, the sleeves slightly pushed up to show off your simple silver bracelet. You had paired the outfit with pointed-toe nude heels, pearl stud earrings, and your hair was done in a half-up loose twist, soft waves cascading down your back. You were so glad you had worn something put together that day. After successfully convincing Seungkwan to switch your lunch date with Celeste instead, with the promise of paying for dessert next time, you headed out of the office with a slight skip in your step. You strolled down the pavement, one hand in your coat pocket, the other holding your phone with Jeonghan’s pinned location glowing on the screen. You finally arrived, stopped and gaped.
The restaurant in front of you was stunning. Soft cream stonework, vines grew over the edges of a wooden pergola, delicate white drapes danced with the wind. There was outdoor seating bathed in golden sunlight; the whole vibe screamed expensive, and summer-soft.
You were too caught up in soaking in the place to notice footsteps approaching, until a voice leaned over your right shoulder. “You like it?”
You jolted and instinctively, you stepped back and pivoted to your left, hand brushed against the edge of your coat as you turned to face the source of the surprise. “Jesus, you scared me!” you half-laughed, pressing a hand to your chest as you exhaled.
Jeonghan, in a light blue linen shirt tucked into beige trousers, grinned down at you. “Sorry,” he chuckled, “wasn’t trying to scare you.”
The sunlight kissed your cheekbones as you smiled, a little breathless from the jump scare. But Jeonghan, he went completely still. His smile faded, but not in a bad way, but in a speechless kind of awe. His gaze softened, eyes lingering on you, trying to memorize every detail: your earrings catching light, how your blouse moved with the breeze, the way you’re smiling not even knowing what you were doing to him.
You waved your hand in front of his face. “Hello? Earth to Jeonghan? Are you good?”
He cleared his throat, finally snapping out of whatever trance he had been in. “Right—yeah. Sorry. You just…” He scratched the back of his neck, then held out a bouquet wrapped in rustic white paper—pale pink roses and sprigs of baby’s breath peeking out. “…You look beautiful.”
You took the flowers, smiled, but not bashful or not giddy, just unfazed; you refused to let any man, no matter how sweet or charming or kind-eyed, have that kind of effect on you again. You had spent too long rebuilding yourself, too long sealing every crack Minho had left behind, and you were not about to let someone slip through them again just because he smelled good and brought you flowers. So you didn't blush anymore, there was no blush creeping up your cheeks but your ears betrayed you. The tips of your ears were red as fuck.
Jeonghan led you to one of the umbrella-covered tables nestled beneath the sunlight, which filtered just enough to feel warm, not harsh. The breeze was soft, carrying the scent of fresh herbs and baked bread. It felt really like a European afternoon even though it was just noon here, but you let yourself enjoy it.
He pulled your chair out like a proper gentleman, and for a second, your breath caught but because of the wrong reason; your ex used to do that too. But you shook the thought off. This wasn't Minho, not everything needed to circle back to him. This is just a nice gesture, you told yourself. A decent man doing a decent thing.
You settled in. Jeonghan smiled and gestured toward the menu. “Order what you want,” he said, resting his chin on his hand, watching you with the smile he always seemed to carry.
When the waiter came, you ordered with a small smile, “Can I get the smoked salmon sandwich with scrambled eggs, and a vanilla iced latte?”
The waiter nodded and Jeonghan chimed in, “Same for me. And can you add a basket of your warm mini scones too? Thanks.”
Your gaze shifted to him, taking him in again. He was dressed well. It wasn't a suit, but it was still effortlessly stylish. Still, you couldn't help but chuckle internally—he ran a café chain, you had expected suits and ties like a K-drama CEO 24/7 but everytime you saw him, his aura was of a human, of a nice man.
The silence settled in as the waiter walked away, and it was kinda awkward. Not bad, just not easy either. You fidgeted slightly with your napkin and broke the silence, “By the way, I forgot to thank you the other day at my aunt’s place… thanks for sending lunch to my office. That was really sweet.”
Jeonghan tilted his head, brushing it off with a soft chuckle. “It’s no big deal. Like I said… I’m wooing you, remember? That means I’ll do things like that. You’re my love interest now.” He said it with a teasing smile, but the sincerity didn't go unnoticed.
You bit the inside of your cheek, unsure how to respond for a second. “I mean… you can do whatever you want,” you murmured, eyes going to the complimentary glass of water. “It’s just—like I said before, my heart’s kinda… closed. I’m not really looking for anything, so… I don’t want you to be disappointed if I don’t change my mind.”
He nodded. “I get that. But I said I’d try. We made a deal, and I still have… what, 90 days?” he grinned. “Just let me do what I want. No pressure.”
You nodded again, this time shyer. “Okay…”
Another short silence followed, but Jeonghan filled it with a question. “So how’s work been?”
“Oh, I’m heading to Italy for a project. It’s sort of a business trip but I’m hoping I can sneak in some vacation time.”
His eyebrows raised slightly, impressed. “ Italy? Fancy.”
You nodded, stirring your straw. “Yeah. I’m excited but… I was supposed to celebrate my mom’s birthday this week with her. And now I won’t be here, which sucks.” You looked at him hesitantly. “Would you mind… joining a video call with her? Just to wish her a happy birthday with me. She really likes you and it’d make her smile.”
Jeonghan didn't even hesitate for a second. “Of course, and you don’t need to ask if I’d like to do something for you,” resting his elbows on the table, he leaned slightly forward. “The answer will always be yes. So don’t think twice. Just tell me.”
That might have been the nicest thing anyone’s said to you in a while. The waiter returned with your food, placing the plates in front of you. The sandwiches were golden and buttery, eggs perfectly soft. The smell alone made you sigh.
Jeonghan clasped his hands. “Let’s dig in, shall we?”
After brunch, Jeonghan insisted on giving you a ride back to the office. His car, already parked earlier before he stepped into the restaurant, sat sleek and waiting. You remembered how he'd found you standing there, mouth parted in awe at the view of the restaurant—now it made sense, he’d arrived early whereas you walked there. He drove a black Audi A8 L, and everything about it, from the glossy sheen to the whisper-quiet engine, spoke of understated luxury. Being the owner of chains, you always assumed he was very well-off, but after sitting in his leather-wrapped cabin, there was no doubt—he was rich rich. Not just wealthy, but smelled polished and wealthy too.
The ride was quiet, but not uncomfortably so. He talked to you about small things, light things. He mentioned how he wanted to do more for you, soon, once a little more time had passed.
You were a woman of few words, and he respected that. You didn't say much, but you were already... comfortable. Being around him felt like sunlight through a window, warm and golden; wrapped in a blanket still carrying the warmth and scent of the sun on a winter morning.
Back at the office, time passed like pages fluttering in a breeze, and soon, it was almost time to leave for the evening’s team building party. You had missed the last one because of a fever, but that night, you were ready. Those nights, especially with Celeste and Seungkwan by your side, always promised laughter and fun. They were the most fun people to be around at parties.
-
Your body reacted before your mind caught up, and you moved back, a step, maybe two. The closer this man came, the more your instincts coiled tightly within. A breath's space became half a step, then a full one. Your fingers curled tightly around your purse strap, your throat drying with each beat of the music thudding like a war drum in your chest. You were disgusted to say the least.
Celeste had vanished into the crowd, tipsy and gleeful, her laughter now a memory swallowed by bass and bodies. Seungkwan was in the restroom, and you whispered silent prayers into the air. Please come back. Now. Please. But instead, he came closer.
His breath reeked of alcohol and something sourer; bitterness, maybe. The look in his eyes was familiar, kind of that once stripped you of peace. "You look good," he sneered, lips twisted, voice drenched in mockery.
You felt it then: rage, disgust, and fear rising from the pit of your stomach. "Shut the fuck up," you stepped back again. "Don’t touch me."
He ignored it like he always did. His feet shuffled closer, lazily. Your back brushed against a counter. You were running out of space. “I’ve been thinking about us,” he slurred. “We can fix this. You know we can.”
You almost laughed, but your voice trembled like a blade. “You broke everything. You ruined me. You fucking hollowed me out and smiled about it.” Still no tears spilled, they hung in your eyes.
He tilted his head mockingly. “Still dramatic, I see.”
“I was miserable with you.” Each of your words was a stone hurled. “You gaslit me, degraded me, manipulated every breath I took and still had the gall to call it love.” Your voice rose the more you speak. “You were a fucking asshole. Are a fucking asshole.”
That was when his expression shifted, something flashed in his eyes; violence barely contained, he moved faster. With a growl, he swooped in, his arm slamming against yours, pinning it down to the counter behind you. The marble was cold beneath your skin. His hand caged your wrist. You're leaned back, your spine arching slightly, nowhere to run. His body hovered far too close, and that was when the tears began to spill.
He leaned in until his breath warmed your cheek. “Those words… they don’t suit your pretty little mouth,” he whispered with a sneer. Then, his fingers gripped your face, cruelly and crudely, pressing your cheeks together, forcing your lips into a shape you didn't own. “Who is it, huh?” His voice was poison dipped in curiosity. “Who are you fucking now, since it’s not me?”
Your limbs shook but your spine stayed straight. Somewhere in the haze of lights and laughter, his friends—if you could call them that—stood at a distance, watching, and laughing. Your pain was once again, another kind of entertainment.
All you were hoping now was for someone in this sea of people, to be decent enough. Just one man with a spine, a conscience, something resembling a soul.
Or, God, let Celeste or Seungkwan find you. Because if they saw this… If they saw your trembling form pinned, tears running down your cheeks, your lips being forced into a shape not your own; hell wouldn’t just break loose, it would bleed.
Celeste would have turned into a beast, rage that ripped through bone and skin with heels sharp enough to slice throats and a fury only a woman can wield after watching her sister break. She’d scream murder, tear at his face like it was paper, her nails dragging blood down his cheek, down his pride. She’d laugh while doing it, vengeful and beautiful.
And Seungkwan—he’d see red, nothing but red. He wouldn’t stop until someone dragged him off, until every punch left a mark, until the bastard begged on his knees with his face bloated and black. He’d spit down on him.You touch her again, and I’ll break every single one of your fingers until you forget how to be a man.
But they weren't here.
Just as he was about to forcefully kiss you while your head was twisting away but his hand trying to clamp your jaw still, trying to oppress you to submit; he’s suddenly gone.
Pushed hard, a weight crashed against the floor with a hollow thud. Your breath caught, chest was rising and falling in erratic jolts. You barely registered what had happened, but then, your eyes met his. That face etched in concern, eyes gentle for a moment until they flicked down to the filth on the floor. Then they shifted to rage again; controlled.
The man on the ground groaned, his ego bruised deeper than his spine, tried to get up, but he crouched beside him with chilling ease. Fingers reached out and plucked the name tag pinned to the bastard’s chest. “Park Minho,” he murmured like a curse.
Minho snarled. “Who the fuck are you to mess with me?” His fist launched but his hand moved faster, catching it mid-air, holding it steady, not violently but commandingly.
“Jeonghan. Her boyfriend.”
Minho lunged again, but this time, Jeonghan didn't flinch. He just moved, twisting enough to let the man’s weight tip himself off balance, and that’s when the owner rushed in. The music cut off, lights flashed red and blue outside the sheer window. Police.
“Mr. Yoon, I’m so sorry,” the bar owner panted, glancing between Jeonghan and the wreck on the floor. “I had no idea he would—he’s fired. He’s done. He’ll never work here again.” Two officers grabbed Minho by the arms, he thrashed, cursed, but it was over.
You didn't even realize your legs had given out earlier, until Jeonghan was kneeling before you. You were on the floor, knees scraped, mascara streaked, eyes wide and blank. He said nothing at first, just held your arms gently. He picked you up, but your head fell on his shoulder. Then you started shaking. Sobs erupted, no longer contained. You clutched at his shirt, trembling, your soul was trying to crawl out of your body.
Jeonghan pulled you closer, one hand on the back of your head, the other around your back. He rocked you gently, a murmur at your ear. “It’s okay. You’re safe. I’ve got you.” His voice was low, raw, not above a whisper. “I’ll always protect you. No one will ever lay a finger on you again.” He kissed the side of your head, his breath trembling along yours, too. “If anyone dares touch you again—if anyone dares hurt you—I’ll bury them myself. I don’t care if my hands get bloody. I will end them for you.”
You didn't answer, not because you couldn't, but because words felt too fragile to carry the weight of what just happened and what he said. The lights spun like distant planets and the crowd hummed around you, oblivious and indifferent. He was achingly kind, his shoulder was there, warm, a borrowed sanctuary in the aftermath. You were grateful, but you didn't want to be seen by anyone like this right now. Your voice was small, trembling only at the edges. “I want to be alone… I don’t want to see you right now. But… thank you.” You didn't meet his eyes.
Everything had happened in the span of ten minutes, but to you, it felt like ten years; slow, stretched, jagged. Time warped cruelly in the dark, by then the din had drawn others. You heard them before you saw them—your coworkers murmuring, shifting, clustering like confused birds after a storm, and then, Celeste appeared.
Disheveled, tipsy, and horrified, she rushed forward and dropped to the ground beside you, wrapping you in the scent of vanilla and liquor and the desperate ache of guilt. Her arms pulled you away from him and into the safety of her embrace. “I’m sorry,” she whispered over and over, stroking your hair like you were a breakable glass. “I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have left. I shouldn’t have disappeared.”
Jeonghan, who was silent and observant, took a step back. He didn't fight your decision. He just watched from a respectful distance, assessing the new guardian that had taken his place. Her eyes were glassy, and even in her inebriated haze, she was more present than most sober men here ever were. “Is there someone I can trust,” Jeonghan asked the crowd, scanning, “to take both of them home?”
A voice rose from the group, mostly from her coworkers that had been present at the party. “Seungkwan. He didn’t drink, so he’s probably the best to—”
Jeonghan was already walking toward the assumed coworker. “Who is Seungkwan?” he asked, tone neutral but outlined with the protectiveness of a man who didn't want to hand over what he’d just protected, to a stranger. And as if conjured by name, he arrived.
His knees hit the ground the moment he saw you slumped against Celeste. His hands trembled as he reached out, stopping himself just before touching you, as if your pain might be contagious. He looked at you, then at Celeste, then at the space around, putting the pieces together without a single word being spoken. His expression hardened into pure fury concealed beneath tight control. “What the fuck happened here?!” His voice cracked through the air. “Tell me who the hell did this. Tell me, and I swear on every grave beneath this city—I will tear him apart with my own hands.” His fists curled. “I’ll fucking gut that bastard and bury what’s left. You think I won’t? You think I can’t? I’ll make it look like an accident and sleep just fine at night.”
Celeste flinched but reached out a hand to him, still cradling you. “Kwan… please. Just wait.”
But Jeonghan had seen enough of this, so he stepped forward in careful assessment. He laid a hand on Seungkwan’s shoulder. Seungkwan’s gaze dropped to the hand as if it was an insult. He didn't look up for three full seconds. He was waiting for a response from Jeonghan, and Jeonghan spoke before that moment died. “Do you have a girlfriend? Or do you like either of them?”
The question felt abrupt, even intrusive, but Jeonghan knew better than to let two emotionally unstable women be left in the care of someone who might have had complicated feelings for them. It wasn't a call to be made lightly, and certainly not one a level-headed man like him would ignore.
Seungkwan’s eyes flashed from the implication, his jaw locked, blood rising to his eyes, but before the storm erupted—“This is Jeonghan,” Celeste cut in hoarsely. “And Seungkwan has a boyfriend.”
There was a pause, then a shared oh between the two men; mutual clarity, and just like that, Jeonghan stepped away, surrendering you both into the care of someone he now deemed safe.
Celeste informed, “I called Joshua. He’s on his way to pick us up.”
Jeonghan nodded once, eyes on you. You still hadn't looked at him since, and he doesn't press for more. You had asked not to see him, and he honoured it, and walked away for now.

Tumblr media
Felix likes to try new hairstyles ever since he let grow his hair, he feels very confident with it and likes the way you randomly stroke it every time you’re together.
Your idea of fun is one of those very rare free afternoons for him since he’s all the time busy at work; it’s when you’re just chilling together at your place because you feel too lazy to go out but very comfortable with each other’s company.
Your days are simple, and your hours with him are very limited but he always makes sure to enjoy being with him; so you try to do everything at once, watch a movie, talk, lay on his chest while he’s playing games on his cell phone… and suddenly, just playing around, with you sitting on his lap in front of him, giggling while playing with his hair.
“Fuck, your hair is so fried” you tease him with a smile, looking at your fingers entangling with his straight hair.
He pouts, “Stop, then don’t touch it…” he responds also joking, just watching you with heart and sparkling eyes.
Felix rests his hands on your tights and caresses them softly. You down your gaze to meet his, he’s suddenly looking at you so sweetly that makes your cheeks get a little warm.
“Can I play with it?” you asked joyfully.
“With what?”
“Your hair” you replied in an obvious tone, “I can do pigtails, braids, middle part, side part” you continue to say, laughing while playing with his hair.
Felix chuckles softly, completely in love, closing his eyes sometimes, then looking up at your arms.
“Wait here” you speak again, standing up from his lap and going to get a comb, hair ties, bobby pins and some random hair clips to take pictures of him just for fun.
“You can also do my make-up if you want” he comments, raising his thick voice so you can hear him.
You sit back down on his lap.
“Oh no, you wear makeup almost every day, let your face rest today” you answer, kissing him tenderly on the bridge of his nose, hiding a little bit the fact that you love seeing your boyfriend’s bare face, straight black eyelashes, big dark eyes, full lips, cheeks and nose with freckles all over.
You laugh at doing whatever you want with his hair, taking silly pictures every time you find him adorable, just giggling saying your favorite inside jokes, then ending with a bow on his hair.
“You can really use me, huh” Felix says, giving you a funny but adorable look with his eyes wide open.
Felix starts caressing your back, with more consistent and intense caresses and he suddenly realizes how you haven’t kissed each other on the lips the whole time, so he moves closer to you and you without hesitation receive his kiss, following a tender and slow rhythm at first, pressing your lips together in a delicate lip rubbing, but you’re a bit desperate when it comes to each other, so your boyfriend catches his breath between kisses and looks himself at the work of being more glued and pouncing on you, with his touches all over your body, from your thighs to your back, slipping his hands under your blouse to feel your bare skin.
Your make out starts to heat up precipitously that you can feel the growing erection in his shorts, so, with your hands wrapped around his neck, you begin to move over his cock, pressing it to your core and stimulating you both. At this point, your pussy is throbbing and you feel slightly heated. You’re always impressed by how incredibly fast you want and desire him. You both moan softly at the friction. As you pull apart you smile slightly mischievously at him and for some reason you start kissing his neck, which Felix loves so, causing him to give you a huge tender smile showing his teeth, clutching his grip on your hips tighter.
You pull away once more to meet the wide grin on his face, which gently turns into a slightly strained expression as you continue to move your body against his erection, Felix gasps, his lips forming a soft expression of satisfaction this time with his submissive facing enjoying the naughty act of crushing his cock with your center, with your clothes on.
“Fuck, baby, it feels so good” Felix sighs, biting his slightly swollen, full lips, lowering his gaze to your pussy being trapped in him, moving his erection back and forth, guiding your hips for better movement.
You smile satisfactorily at him in response, each time feeling the heat of your body and pussy brush against your panties, wetting them all over, just playing more with your arousal. You see him, he looks so fucking cute and yet so hot with the last few hairstyles you gave him, two little high ponytails with bows leaving the rest of his hair loose, he looked silly cute, but serious manly moans coming out of him contrasts somehow so perfectly.
Felix sighs again sonorously, his legs shaking a little, he doesn’t think he can take it long enough without cumming if you keep moving so dedicatedly on him so he speaks again:
“Mmm, c’mon baby, take off your clothes, or do you want me to take you to bed.”
A pleasant shock goes through your body as you hear him a little more needy, you’re not thinking straight and you don’t want to pull away from him so you just reply a simple, “It’s okay like this, Lix.”
With your heart beating fast you grab his shorts, indicating you want to pull them down, Felix helps you right away, releasing his pink, needy, throbbing cock, you look down at his member and then at the same time you join gazes, Felix looks at you so needy and innocent, his big eyes begging you to touch him, you can’t help but melt every time he does that and in a needy sigh, with your cheeks a little red, you stand up, embarrassed, pulling down your comfy cloth shorts along with your panties, climbing back onto his lap, catching your boyfriend licking his lips at the sight of your cute bare mons venus.
Felix smiles, so excited at the thought of feeling you on him again, now with the sensation of your warm wet center in him, he gets more excited at the thought that you were finally going to settle on him ready to fuck, however, you start pumping his entire erect length, making him gasp loudly as he throws his head back, marking his bulging Adam's apple in his throat. Felix returns to his posture, looking straight into you with desire, biting his lip as you with a smile, touch all over his cock, stroking his tip gently with your fingers, feeling his stiffness and the slight sticky precum sliding down your hand as you jerk him off.
You’re so wet, and Felix is getting over the edge, so you finally accommodate your body, squeezing your pussy tighter on his cock, grinding on it a little before you put his cock inside you, encouraging in him more arousal if that was possible, teasing him and you at the sensation of his dick rub between your labia, until you feel his throbbing member so foreplayed, and until you see your boyfriend’s sweet expression as he can’t resist anymore and, finally you insert his rigid manhood completely in you. The temperature of both your bodies rises, it feels so fucking good to be filled by him, every move you make comes out of pure bliss, panting, sliding on his cock in a rhythm that makes him shudder and moan; Felix feels every part of his body beat intensely, enjoying every thrust into him.
“Oh, fuck, l-ove, ke-keep going please, I’m gonna cum, fuuck” he whimpers, desperate in a high-pitched tone, closing his eyes.
Felix thinks about the idea of cumming all of him inside you, of filling you up, brings him to a better ecstasy and in a thick sigh of relief and satisfaction, he manages to cum, relaxing a bit all the tension built in his body, making his thighs restless in soft tingling and trembling. You rest your hands on his shoulders and hide your face on the side of his neck, moaning close to his ear and with your face brushing against his soft hair, gently overwhelming you with his sweet scent, you bite your lip at the sensation of his hot semen shooting inside you and you also sense you’re so close to your climax that, despite being slightly tired, you intensify and increase each movement, sliding a little more slippery as you are filled with his cum. You hug him without thinking, your walls squeeze his sensitive cock still stuck in your core, you’re climaxing so intensely that you open your mouth almost in an inaudible squeal, your vision blurs for a few seconds and you let yourself release completely onto your boyfriend.
You feel the joining of agitated chests and breaths, Felix hug you warmly wrapping your back, once again your body melts at the slightest touch of his, but you can’t help but feel him so close to you, acting tenderly. Felix doesn’t even have to say it, but you know he loves you, you feel it too, so you relax your body on top of him, stroke his hair and he gives you a soft kiss on your shoulder as he caresses your back and keeps you in such a vulnerable position with both sexes together, with you on top of him until you decide to move.

-> Kid Gojo running away from home, meets kid F!Reader. <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was weird, the scorching sun of Kyoto was humiliating her very body. Gasping, panting, heavy breathing, she had just run from a few bullies who wanted to take her limited edition water bottle away. For a child who was so doted on, overbearingly so, but somehow it all being a facade, Satoru couldn’t understand his own life, part of him thought it’s fun & he gets to have whatever he wants. Part of him craved what normalcy means, and how he could possibly achieve it in a stigma of innate power & pedastal he’s crowned with. His birthday recently passed, so many gifts & yet gift giving could lack warmth that much & include agendas? Unbearable. This world was unbearable.
His eyes were powerful, he had been practising with his own given the strict routine of Jujutsu being taught in his clan… Gojo clan, Zen’in clan, Kamo clan… how do normal people behave? Ignorance is bliss indeed, or that is something Satoru swears by for the non-sorcerer community.
Ignorance is utterly blissful, why else was she running towards him without a fear of her life? His eyes widened, school uniform, tattered & bruised knees, beautiful hair that are utter opposite to his, eyes gleaming, happy— kind— before Satoru could say anything, both her hands clasped his arm, using him as a leverage, she hid behind him.
Now, Satoru can handle all the trouble in the world. Small kid with small hands knew his worth, knew his birth shook the sorcerer community & he is god-like. Still, this normalcy felt endearing. The fact that she didn’t ask him, or bow in front of him to be allowed to touch Satoru was, new.
He turned his head to look at her, what was she running from. His gorgeous blue eyes met hers, thick lashes batting in curiosity, “Ano- what are you running from?” He asked, a slight snobbish arrogance lacing his sentence. He just isn’t used to any other way. Could it be that she was being haunted by a curse? What was tormenting this beautiful girl?
“How old are you?” Satoru continued, asking another question.
“I’m eight, turning nine soon. My name is Y/N. I am running from a few people in my school, they want my water bottle & they get anythin’ they want from anyone…” she pouted big, showing Satoru her water bottle. It looked cute, he’d give it that, but for someone who always has whatever he wants, the idea of people bothering someone else for materialistic things seemed unfit.
“Pretty bottle.” He said, taking it from her & examining it further. Maybe he’s missing something? There has to be something valuable about it… he even tried using six eyes to understand, nope… nothing. Just an ordinary bottle in the hands of an ordinary girl.
“They won’t bother you, I am here. I’m really strong.” He grins, so far he’s always been told he’s really strong but this time he has used this to forge his own identity. “Yeah?” She raised a brow, slightly skeptical.
“Yeah- I am already ten years old. Senpai.” Satoru smirked again, what a tiny lady being bothered by a tiny bottle.
“Well, if you really can protect me from those bullies, I can take you home and make you meet my mom. She makes amazing cookies, & she is making a cake today, Fridays are baking days.” This time, the girl grinned back, just as chirpy and excited. Happily accepting herself to be under Satoru’s wing.
The strongest sorcerer in the world, was still a kid. Needed to be loved like a kid. “I could get any cookies I want.” He shrugged.
“Yeah, not my mum’s cookies.” She resisted, pouting & yanking the bottle away.
What was about her mom’s cookies which could be that special? Satoru raised his brows, he has promised to protect someone & what kinda man would he be if he doesn’t keep his promise?
“Okay, I’ll go home with you.” He nods, besides, there is a special naughty joy that erupts in his childish psyche to imagine his butlers being scolded.
Satoru Gojo didn’t have a normal life, yet. This was a good start, maybe a frequent spot to visit when he escapes his gruesome trainings & his role to save the world.

Hand That Feeds|| Stack x Mary x Black!Reader Sample Chapter
Summary: All you have ever wanted was to do was sing and a contest at a blues bar is your last chance. When you catch the attention of two vampires, everything you know about the living and the dead, fame and fortune, transforms.
This is a sample chapter and 18+ for some mentions of violence, use your discretion. Enjoy!
Edit: No idea why I thought the post credit took place in nyc but I fixed it!
“Take your time,baby!”
It was all too loud, your church shoes somehow squeaking on the carpeted floor, feedback from the microphone threatening to break through at any second, the light snores of a deacon somewhere behind you.
Why didn't they just let you do a recitation instead?
It was all too itchy, the dress, the stockings, the burn in your kitchen from where your least favorite aunt volunteered to do your hair and everybody else was too busy to say no.
Look at me.
Somehow you heard your mama without her saying a word, locked eyes with her,and focused on the one word she was mouthing.
Breathe.
You took as big a breath as a fourth grader in her big sister’s Easter turned Christmas dress could muster and just like that the world went quiet.
The song itself didn’t matter, the church faded away behind your closed eyes and a new world revealed itself to you, whispered to you, bowed to you. A cool breeze from a land you never stepped foot in, the laugh of a grandmother you never met.
Joy, uninterrupted and unbridled joy.
Until applause ripped you from your quiet little empire, your mother picking you up with one arm like she used to when you were much smaller, peppering kisses all over your face.
“That’s my baby, she’s gonna be a star y’all!”
She didn’t know about the phantom breeze or the laughter of the dead, and she never would.
For there are things little black girls are not supposed to be nor do: loud, fresh, and lifting the veil between this world and the next.
You did not know it then but something, two somethings to be precise, those who existed between the living and the dead, heard you.
And they were hungry and waiting.
FIFTEEN YEARS LATER - 1995
“I’m sorry but we’ve decided to go in a less urban direction, you understand right?”
You understood exactly what the Biltmore twins in matching blowouts and Guess jeans meant. You should have known an ad looking for “girls with attitude” was trouble to begin with but you couldn’t help it, this was going to be it, your big break.
Two months in, you made the mistake of truly singing one good time instead of just backing up two rich girls a wrong note loved to see coming.
You felt that wind and your big sister who didn’t make it to her senior prom’s hand in yours the very moment your voice soared in a vocal booth over drums no one else could hear, and for sixty seconds before Daddy Biltmore turned your mic down, you were free.
“I understand completely and I’d like my songbook and sheet music back that you took when I came in, please.”
“I think you know why we can’t do that, it’s in your contract.”
There it is; your voice, their mouths, your music, their faces and just like that, the urban wasn’t so urban anymore.
This was confirmed when you were thrown into the rain city streets with nothing. Fifteen years of music, gone.
“Hi sweetie, it’s Mama. I haven’t heard from you in a few days, I know you’ve been working but this isn’t like you. You’re grown, I’m not gonna drag you home, but please call me.”
The answering machine clicked off and you reached for the cordless only to chicken out and put the phone back on the receiver and continue to groan face down into your pillow.
What could you say to her that wouldn’t put her and Daddy on the first flight to Chicago?
“Come on down to the Sammie Moore Heritage Showcase at Pearline’s! Honor the late great Sammie Moore and perform for a chance at $5,000!”
You perked up at that, scrambling to write down the address and check the clock.
It started five minutes ago.
95 expletives and two taxis later, you faced down a bouncer, soaking wet.
“Come on,I gotta get in there, what’s it gonna take?”
“We’re at capacity, no can do.” The bouncer said while letting a large group of people in with a completely straight face.
The sun went down as you formed an argument in preparation to be manhandled by a bouncer but with one hand outstretched to yank you out of line, the bouncer froze.
September in Chicago could get cold but it was if winter reached up to tap you on the shoulder, a sharp and yearning cold settled behind you.
“We knew the owner, if you’d be so kind as to let us in.” A soft voice with a purring drawl that made your mouth water spoke first.
“I’d have to check the list.” The bouncer said in a sleepy tone he certainly didn’t have while talking to you minutes ago.
“We’re family, go on now.”
A second voice chimed in, honey deep and audacious, and you couldn’t help it, you turned around.
You turned around and received a benediction of curved lips and smooth skin, bamboo earrings, and golden teeth behind a far too serrated smile.
Sunglasses hide their eyes from your gawking and the thirty second exchange ended with the bouncer letting them in and you somehow managed to sneak in behind them while the bouncer rubbed his eyes. You could hear his shouts but they faded as you melted into the crowd and raced to find the sign up sheet for performers.
As fate or something else entirely would have it, there was one spot left.
One spot left and all of your music had been ripped away from you.
By the time the MC called you to the stage you were more than a few drinks in, searching for a song with every step you took towards the piano. Awkward whispers and hecklers as you stuttered out a greeting only made your heart pick up the pace.
Look at me.
In the deep recesses of your mind there was a tiny command to gaze beyond the spotlight and into the crowd, fingers hovering over the keys.
A sea of shadowy faces were there, some more annoyed than others that you hadn’t played a single note yet, others waiting patiently.
At the very back of the room, two pairs of glowing eyes caught yours.
Breathe.
With that, you sing out for the first time in months and allow this world to step to the side and enter another.
Across the room, the vampires known as Elias “ Stack” and Mary Moore begin to cry and drool.
In between the notes you hit, Mary hears her mother’s voice close to her ear and Smoke asks his brother for a cigarette.
You were the one they were looking for.
Some time later you would go home with $5,000 in your pocket.
Across town some time after that, a maid discovers the bodies of the Biltmore family.
Your songbook and sheet music were nowhere to be found as Stack and Mary found it rude to show up empty handed and uninvited.
That’s all I got! As this is a sample chapter, if you’d like to see chapter two, please interact with this post so this doesn’t get buried in the tags. I hope you liked it, I’m not too sure about it.

You drift in and out of a restless mockery of sleep the next day, dreams pulling you under in ragged fragments. In some, you’re a child again—perhaps the closest you’ve ever come to feeling human.
Sometimes, you used to pretend you were one of them. But the hunger always ruined it in the end.
Hunger.
Your oldest companion…your only companion.
It’s the thing that defines you, that sets you apart. The reminder that no matter how well you mimic them, you don’t belong. Not to the world of the living, nor the dead. You exist somewhere in between—drifting, untethered.
But there are two absolutes in your reality, two anchors in the dark.
Hunger.
And Sukuna.
The man who was your enemy before you even knew his name. The man whose purpose was to end you—but instead, became bound to you, inexplicably and irrevocably. The man who, despite everything, has become just as much a part of you as the hunger itself.
Hunger and Sukuna.
The two things you can never escape.
And now, they’ve become one and the same.
You should have run, should have fed elsewhere, done anything.
But instead, you lay tangled in fever-damp sheets that still smell like him, every nerve fraying, every breath dry with wanting.
You wake with a jolt—head heavy, limbs trembling. His blood still burns through your veins like venom, sweet and spoiled.
You're not just hungry—you're sick.
The room is quiet in the evening that has settled like a bruise.
He hasn’t killed you. Maybe he’s waiting—for you to crawl, beg, break.
You move slowly, swallowing your weakness and forcing your steps to be deliberate.
His scent draws you to the living room… and there he is. Sprawled out on the couch like a predator at rest. Shirt open, glass of liquor dangling between his fingers, looking completely at ease.
Like he’s not the reason you’ve been wrecked for the last twenty-four hours.
The wound on his neck is closed now, but the bruising’s deepened—an angry, violent purple. Evidence of your teeth.
Your throat still burns, your stomach’s a churning knot, but it's deeper than hunger.
It’s worse.
You feel like you're rotting without more of him—yet at the same time, your body is rejecting it.
“What the hell did you put in your blood?”
Your voice comes out hoarse, but steady.
Sukuna doesn't blink. Just tilts his glass, gaze lazily dragging down your body—your flushed skin, the faint tremble in your fingers.
“I didn’t take anything,” he says evenly.
You stare at him, trying to read the lie. But there isn’t one, and unfortunately you believe him. You tasted it last night. There was nothing foreign, just him.
How perfect, then. That the blood that’s rivaled yours for generations would be the one that makes you sick.
And the one you crave more than anything else you've ever tasted.
The irony would be almost funny if it didn’t feel like it was killing you.
But then, another thought pierces through the haze.
“…Not even antivenom?”
You fed from him enough that his mind should be bowing to your will. The average man would become obsessed with you from a single bite, and while Sukuna isn't the average man it's odd that there was no reaction at all.
He snorts. “Don’t need it for a sucker as weak as you. Wouldn’t do shit to me anyway.”
You grind your teeth but force yourself to stay neutral, prowling toward him with slow steps.
“I’m hungry.”
Sukuna exhales sharply through his nose, more amused than anything, and lifts his glass for another slow sip.
“That so?”
You swallow your irritation, keeping your voice level.
“Yes.”
Finally, he looks at you fully—his eyes glinting with something sharp, yet cruelly playful.
“And what, exactly, do you think I’m going to do about that?”
Your jaw tightens.
He knows. Of course he does. He always does.
Sees right through you—down to the marrow, to the way your body hums with sickness and longing, wound tight with want.
“I need more.”
You don’t beg, don’t bother to soften it, just lay it bare.
His lips curl.
“Need?”
He leans forward slightly, the lazy shift of weight somehow predatory. “Didn’t take long for you to turn into a little addict, huh?”
Heat flashes under your skin as your fingers twitch.
You hate the way he says it, like this was always going to happen, like it was his plan all along.
“And?” You step closer. “Are you going to give it to me, or just sit there running your mouth?”
His brows rise, mock-surprised. “Oh? You want me to?”
You bite your tongue as hunger claws at you, tight and wild beneath your ribs. Your throat is dry, pulsing, the remnants of his blood still lingering on your tongue—something divine turned rotten by denial.
Sukuna leans back, head tilting as he studies you.
“Tell me, little leech,” he murmurs, voice smooth and dark. “Which ache are you really asking me to fix?”
Your stomach drops, a shiver crawling up your spine, slow as poison.
Because you don’t know. Not really. Lust, desire, hunger—they’ve twisted into something indistinguishable.
It’s all the same in the end. All a craving for him.
But you won’t flinch, won’t give him that.
Instead you sneer at him. “Why don’t you give me what I want and find out?”
His smirk deepens.
“Oh, I already know.” His voice dips, twisting with something cold.
“Bet you couldn’t even sleep, could you? All squirming, all wound up—” He leans in, voice low and cutting, “—fingers weren’t enough, were they?”
Your body moves before your mind catches up.
One moment, he’s lounging there, glass dangling from his fingers like a dare, smirking like he owns you.
The next, you lunge.
Hunger rips through you, primal and brutal as instinct blots out reason. You’re on him in a blink—fangs bared, claws digging for his jaw, desperate to rip it sideways, to expose the throb of his artery.
But Sukuna is faster.
He pivots—just enough to throw you off balance. Then his palm slams squarely into your sternum and he throws you.
Your spine hits the floor with a crack that leaves the walls shuddering, as pain detonates up your back.
You snarl, writhing, legs lashing out to knock him off and he just laughs.
“Poor little thing,” he sneers, voice honey-thick with mockery. “Left to take care of yourself like some neglected pet. And still—”
His knee drives up between your thighs, cruel and deliberate in the way it grinds into that one aching spot. You gasp—body reacting against your will as heat throbs through your core.
“—you came crawling back.”
You twist, head spinning, teeth snapping toward his throat. They clack as they close around nothing when he jerks back just enough to stay out of range.
“Tch.”
His hand clamps your jaw, forcing your mouth open, fingers digging into your cheeks until your breath shudders.
“What now?” he murmurs, low and cruel. “Acting like some wild animal? No pride left?”
You growl, chest heaving.
You despise how your body responds to his weight, how his scent drowns your thoughts, how his pulse sings in your ears like a curse.
You spit his own words back at him, poison-laced. “And you love it.”
His grin splits wider, something dark flickering behind his eye.
“Maybe I do.”
His lips brush your ear—just breath and heat.
“Did you cry for me last night?” he whispers. “Touch yourself to the thought of me?”
One moment of hesitation—just long enough for him to see it.
His grin sharpens, wicked.
“Ohhh… You did, didn’t you?”
Rage detonates.
You snap again, harder, fangs out, strength flaring wild as you thrust your torso upwards.
Impact.
Your back slams into the floor again with a crack loud enough to splinter the wood.
In your stomach, something lurches, your brain pounding with that toxic blood coursing through it.
Still, even in your feverish, sickened state, you can't stop.
You twist like a rabid thing, clawing and bucking, fingers slashing until he catches your arm mid-swing and twists.
The crack of your bone is sharp and awful, pain lancing up your arm like lightning.
You scream—but not from fear.
From fury.
He slams your wrist down, pinning it to the floor. His other hand wraps around your throat and squeezes, cutting off your air.
“Pathetic,” he breathes.
You manage a snarl through clenched teeth. “Fuck you.”
He laughs. Horribly delighted.
“You can’t even touch me,” he mocks. “What, all that hunger, and this is the best you’ve got?”
You lash out again, thrashing as much as you can with any free part of your body.
His hand tightens on your throat.
His voice drops lower, like he's talking in pity to some fucking stray. “You’re so hungry, aren’t you?”
You snap, flailing around again, this time with mild success when your long nails catch his cheek deep enough to draw blood.
There's just a flicker of satisfaction in you before his laughter deepens.
He licks the blood from his lip, eyes glowing with some kind of thrill. “Good,” he growls. “That’s more like it.”
Suddenly he lets go, and that's when you feel it—the pain in your arm, the bone he cracked—it's knitting itself back together.
You feel the muscle realigning, sinew fusing. The sound is low, wet, wrong, and then it’s done. You don't have to look to know bruises are already fading from other parts of your skin, scrapes sealing themselves over.
His eyes flick to your arm, watching the contorted limb revert back to its original state, and something in his expression changes.
Not surprise or fear. More like...intrigue.
Dark, vicious intrigue
You try to spring up again, feral instinct overriding thought, and that's exactly what he wanted.
He catches you mid-motion, spins you, and slams you down, face-first this time. The breath is knocked clean from your lungs.
Before you can recover, he’s on you again, weight crushing your back, knee digging into your spine. One hand knots in your hair, yanking your head back, the other twists your arm behind you—just shy of breaking it again.
You thrash, scream, curse.
He just chuckles.
“I should break you. You’re too stupid to quit.”
Your vision swims red. Maybe because he's partially right.
His knee presses harder into your back, then something cold brushes your neck.
Metal.
Click.
A collar.
You freeze; not from fear, but recognition.
The pressure on your arm eases slightly, just enough for your fingers to reach your throat as you claw at the cool metal. It won't budge.
Beep.
Your pulse spikes.
Sukuna leans close as he clicks his tongue in disapproval. "Try to take it off,” he whispers, “and I might just test it on you.”
You go still, but your eyes blaze.
He trails a slow finger along the edge of the collar. “There,” he murmurs. “That’s better.”
His hand tightens just enough to make you swallow, to make you feel it.
Something inside you snaps in panic, like a wild animal realizing it's been caged in and exploding. Against your better judgement, you try to go for him again.
Another mistake.
The moment your arm swings up, there's pain.
White-hot, searing, blinding pain.
The collar pulses with raw electric current, slamming through your body. You scream as your muscles seize, legs collapsing till your knees hit the floor with a sickening crack.
Your back arches and every nerve burns.
And through the agony, you hear his laughter.
Finally the waves stop and he crouches beside you, watching the way your body twitches from the aftershocks.
“You’re not very bright, are you?” he purrs.
You shake, but you don’t cry. There's a cloyingly sweet smell, and you realize with disgust it's the smell of your flesh cooking.
Your teeth bare as you glare up at him, every breath a battle though your body is already regenerating.
“Oh?” he taunts. “Still got fight left?”
You snarl, body trembling, fangs glinting.
Click.
The second shock hits harder, the healing process interrupted as your whole body jerks, bones slamming against the floor. Your scream rips free, raw and ragged.
Light blooms behind your eyes, fracturing your vision.
“Look at you,” he murmurs. “Shaking already?”
He watches your fingers spasm, watches the flicker of humiliation in your eyes.
Then, he caresses your cheek.
“Did you really think you could take from me?” he whispers.
You twitch under his touch—still burning, still raging.
But bound and helpless.
Suddenly, beneath the sharp, acrid sting of singed skin, you smell it. That same scent from last night — alkaline and musky.
Your stomach twists as your gaze drops slowly, unwillingly, and there it is — a bulge, obvious and undeniable.
Your breath catches, not from fear, but revulsion as you shudder.
He’s hard.
Your stomach roils. You want to claw his other eye out, rip his throat open, scream.
God, you hate him.
“You get what I decide to give you." His smirk turns into something heinous. "And tonight? You get nothing."
Then, just to drive it home, he pats your cheek and stands, leaving you there—collared, quivering, burning with humiliation, hunger, hatred.
Tumblr media
You wake up seething.
Your body aches, your pride is in shreds, and worst of all, the collar is still there. A cruel weight around your throat, snug against delicate skin, mocking you with its presence.
You fumble with it for a few minute, to absolutely no avail as the lock holds, unmoving. No matter how hard you tug, no matter how raw your skin burns, it doesn’t budge.
Fucking bastard.
The door creaks. Footsteps.
You don’t need to look up; Sukuna’s presence is suffocating.
“Morning, pet.”
Your hands ball into fists, nails digging into your palms.
His voice is too amused, too self-satisfied, and it takes everything in you not to lunge at him on sight.
He crouches, tilting his head as if examining you.
“Oh? No snarling today? No pathetic little threats?” He grins, eyes dancing with delight. “You’re not pouting, are you?”
You whip your head up, glaring daggers.
He laughs. Loud, open, unbothered.
“Ahhh. There it is.” His fingers flick under your chin, forcing your head up higher. “That pissed-off little glare. Always so mad.”
Your lip curls. “I’m going to rip your fucking throat out.”
Sukuna just clicks his tongue.
“Tch. More empty threats? Haven’t we been through this?”
Click.
Pain explodes through your body.
A sharp current crackles through your nerves, muscles locking, lungs seizing as you choke on a strangled gasp. Your vision whites out for a second, fingers digging into the floor you haven't even realized you've collapsed onto.
“You never learn, do you?”
The moment the current stops, your body collapses, gasping, shaking from the aftershocks. Every nerve is burning, but the rage—the rage is blinding.
“Fuck—you,” you snarl, voice ragged, barely above a growl.
Sukuna’s smirk deepens.
"See?" he breathes, trailing lazy fingers along the collar. "That’s why you need training."
Your body tenses.
“You—”
His hand clamps onto your jaw, cutting you off instantly.
"Shhhh." His grip tightens until your teeth grind together, his mocking amusement never faltering. "Did I ask you to speak?"
Fury churns in your chest, a wild, blistering rage—you lash out, but Sukuna’s already waiting for it. The moment you move, his other hand presses the remote.
Click.
Electricity rips through you once again. Your whole body convulses—a ragged scream ripped from your throat as the pain tears through your nerves.
It lasts longer this time. When it finally stops, you double over, chest heaving, limbs trembling uncontrollably.
You snarl, teeth bared, but your body still shakes from the shocks.
"You want me?" he purrs. "Then earn it."
His fingers toy with the collar again, voice dripping with amusement as you pant, catching your breath, feeling your cells renew.
“You do as I say. You behave. And maybe...maybe I’ll reward you.”
Sukuna pulls back, grinning.
“But if you don’t?” His thumb hovers over the remote.
His eyes are bright, thrilled, drinking in your rage, your helplessness.
“Then we keep doing this.” He chuckles. “Again. And again. And again.”
Tumblr media
The next day is humiliating.
The collar is tight, an ever-present reminder against your throat. The remote is always in his grip, always a threat, and Sukuna?
Sukuna is having the time of his life.
“Go on.” He gestures toward the floor with a flick of his fingers, voice mocking. “Crawl.”
Your teeth grind.
You stay frozen, muscles coiled, every nerve in your body screaming at you to refuse. To tear him apart, to fight, to kill him.
His smirk widens.
“Oh?” he purrs. “You think you still have a choice?"
Click.
It lasts just long enough to remind you. Sukuna tilts his head, watching you pant through clenched teeth.
“Don’t make me say it twice,” he breathes.
Your breath shudders, hands clenching into fists. Your pride screams at you not to, but the threat lingers, hot and buzzing under your skin.
Slowly, your fingers uncurl and your arms lower as you sink down to your hands and knees.
Sukuna grins, victorious.
“Awww,” he croons, eyes gleaming with delight. “See? That wasn’t so hard.”
Vitriol burns deep, scalding inside you like a toxin. Your hands shake against the floor, your body tense, humiliated, but you can’t react, not if you want to avoid the next shock.
Sukuna leans back against his chair, watching you like something he managed to capture.
“You know,” he muses, “I think I like you like this.”
Your head snaps up, glaring up at him.
His eye flashes, anticipating your outburst, enough to make you bite your tongue as your body tenses, practically able to feel phantom shocks running through it.
“Ohhh,” he breathes, thrilled. “You almost did it, didn’t you? Almost told me to go fuck myself.”
Your teeth grind harder, muscles locking.
Sukuna snickers. “You’re learning.”
Then, he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a black cloth, dangling it from two fingers.
“Put this on.”
You blink. “What—?”
“The blindfold,” he says, voice syrupy and cruel. “Now.”
You hesitate.
He doesn’t even speak this time—just taps the remote with one nail, the silent threat making your gut churn.
With shaking hands, you take the cloth and tie it over your eyes.
Darkness swallows everything, amplifying every other sense. The sound of his breath. The hum of the lights. The subtle movement of air as he shifts nearby. The faint smell of his bodywash.
You're blind now. Vulnerable and open.
You flinch as you hear him move—closer, closer, until the heat of him is almost brushing your skin.
“Good girl,” he whispers beside your ear.
A hand slides along your cheek, then down—and then you hear footsteps, the noise of him sitting back on the couch.
Silence stretches.
You sit there, blindfolded, the floor cold beneath your knees, every inch of your skin crawling with unease.
A soft rustle, like he’s shifting.
“I should invite someone over,” he says idly, like he’s thinking aloud. “Let them see how obedient you are. How pretty you look when you’re quiet.”
He laughs softly at the way you stiffen.
“Relax,” he drawls. “Not today. But maybe someday.”
You hear the clink of glass and ice. A drink being poured.
“Spread your knees.”
Your breath catches, but you don’t move.
Click.
A jolt of pain zips across your spine—sharp, fast, enough to make you flinch and gasp.
“Don’t make me ask again,” he murmurs.
You force your muscles to obey, sliding your knees apart against the floor.
There’s a long, deliberate pause.
You hear him take a sip of his drink, the clink of ice again.
“Hands behind your back.”
Another pause, but you obey.
Your breathing is loud now, uneven, as you sit there, nerves wracked in anxious anticipation.
Sukuna hums in approval as you sit, rage rolling off you in waves as you’re forced to kneel before him like some kind of god.
“Good. Just stay like that, alright?” he purrs, followed by the sound of a zipper being undone.
Your eyes widen beneath the mask of black, like they’re straining to see through the fabric.
“What the fuck—” You pause, reluctantly correcting yourself. “What are you doing?”
Another rustling and then the scent of his pre-spend hits your nostrils, stirring something in you, between your thighs.
“Mm. Wouldn’t you like to know?”
The soft sound of skin being stroked.
You swallow, heart in your throat as you pick up gentle shucking sounds, followed by the sharp hiss of a breath sucked in between teeth.
When he speaks again, his voice is lower, a little rougher.
“But pets don’t get to ask questions. They just need to sit there and look pretty.”
You keep silent, unsure how to feel right now.
You’re still entirely clothed — he could’ve made you undress, touch yourself, do anything at all to get off to. And instead he’s jerking off just at the sight of you helpless and compliant.
Bowed in submission.
“Tell me how much you hate me.”
You blink, straining to pick up any deception in his voice. Some kind of trap, surely.
“I don’t know what you mean…” you mutter unsurely.
A throaty breath escapes him as you hear his pace picking up slightly.
“Exactly what I said. I know you’ve got some nasty little things you’re just dying to spit out.”
You hesitate.
“Or—” The sharp click of his nails tapping on the remote.
Your breath stutters.
“I hate you,” you blurt, chest rising and falling too fast. “I hate everything about you.”
He hums, pleased, the slick sound of him pumping his cock becoming louder, more intense. “Keep going.”
Your throat tightens. “You’re cruel. Sadistic. You don’t care about anyone but yourself.”
He says nothing.
You push forward, heart pounding, the smell of his pre cum flooding your keen senses, making you salivate even as you spit the venom you hold for him.
“You enjoy watching people suffer. You enjoy watching me suffer.”
A deep groan cuts through the air—low, filthy, pleased. It makes your stomach twist and your skin burn in humiliation.
You know he’s getting off on this, but you can’t help yourself, not when he’s finally given the chance for you to speak your mind.
Your jaw locks. “Ironic they call me a monster,” you snarl, “when a sick fuck like you gets to walk around free.”
“More,” he rasps. The sound of it is hungry, breathless. “Say it like you mean it.”
Your nails dig into your palms.
“I wish you were dead,” you whisper, each word trembling with rage. “I wish you’d choke on your own blood, feel every bone in your body snap, scream until your voice gives out.”
His breathing deepens.
“I want to be the one who ends you,” you hiss. “I want to watch you die slow. I want to see the panic crawl across your face when you realize no one’s coming to save you. I want to be the last thing you see before everything goes dark, before you go burn in whatever hell you’re going to.”
There’s a pause. A long one. Filled only with the sound of him jerking his dick, slower right now.
You hear the couch shift as he leans forward, breath brushing the shell of your ear.
“There she is,” he purrs. “My little monster.”
You flinch.
His hand slides along your jaw—gentle, almost affectionate.
“You hate me,” he murmurs, “but you’re still here. Still kneeling. Still obeying.”
His fingers trace the edge of your blindfold.
“Tell me why.”
You stay silent, jaw clenched, blood roaring in your ears.
He tilts your chin up—his grip firmer now. “Tell me.”
“Because you’ll hurt me if I don’t.”
“Exactly.”
The word comes out as a growl, and there a second of stroking and low pants before you feel something splatter against your cheek, taking you by surprise.
Warm. Salty. Bitter.
His cum spills all over your face, some catching across your nose and lips, dripping down. It feels like bugs crawling on your skin, and you have to fight the urge to wipe off the virile fluid now painting you.
It smells like his precum, but stronger. Hotter. Alive.
Finally you feel no fresh spurts landing on you as the sound of his movement slows, replaced only by his breathing, heavy and satisfied.
You don’t realize your lips are slightly parted until some of the cum trickling down your face tickles the curve of your upper lip.
“I should really take a picture of you like this. What do you think, leech?”
You bite your cheek, jaw clenched so hard it hurts. “I think there’s something really fucking wrong with you.”
Sukuna snickers—no shame, no guilt, just cruel amusement. You hear the rustle of fabric, the zip of his fly. The sound makes your gut twist with something shameful. Your thighs press together instinctively, helpless against the dull, throbbing ache between your legs.
It’s sick. You feel sick.
He’s doing this on purpose.
You know he is.
“…Can I take this off?” you ask quietly, voice frayed at the edges. The blindfold itches, clings.
You want to be alone, want to fall into your sheets and do something—anything—to bleed the heat out of you.
He lets out a breath, bored now. You hear him lean back, the lazy clink of ice against glass.
“Mm. Sure. Whatever.”
A sip.
You fumble at the knot behind your head, fingers shaky. The fabric peels away with a damp, dragging sound, and the sudden light—however dim—makes you squint. Your eyes take a second to adjust.
And then you see him.
Sitting in that chair like a king—loose shirt, legs sprawled, drink in one hand. Still watching you with that unreadable, heavy-lidded gaze. Nothing about him says danger, and yet every part of you feels wired to flee.
Instead, you sit there, skin prickling, shame still thick on your tongue.
You expect him to say something cruel. Another jab, another reminder of who holds the leash.
But he doesn’t.
Instead, his gaze lowers to your mouth.
“You’ve been good,” he murmurs, almost to himself. “Didn’t beg. Didn’t bite.”
His eyes flash with something darker, something considering.
“You want a reward?”
“What?”
He doesn’t repeat himself, just sets his drink down, rolls up his sleeve and turns his wrist over, exposing the unscarred skin of his other forearm.
The knife appears like magic, you didn’t even see him grab it.
There's a clean slice, and a ribbon of red swells instantly.
He holds it out to you.
You freeze, contemplating, mind reeling.
“Don’t make me change my mind,” Sukuna says, voice low but sharp now.
You hate him.
You hate him for knowing exactly what this will do to you. For how fast your fangs descend, for the way your pulse howls at the scent.
But most of all, you hate yourself—because your body’s already moving.
You crawl to him.
Every step feels like it costs something, like pride scraped off your ribs, dignity leaking out your eyes. Your knees burn on the floor as you inch forward, closer and closer to where he sits, arm outstretched like an offering from a throne.
He doesn’t move, doesn’t even blink.
You pause at his feet, breath shallow. The scent is dizzying—copper and warmth and him. Your fingers tremble as they curl around his wrist, guiding it down. His blood drips slow, thick, a thread of red down his arm. Your mouth opens.
And when your lips finally touch his skin, something breaks.
The taste floods you instantly—hot and heady and so much more than it should be. Not just nourishment. Not just survival. It’s him, and it’s power, and it’s control, and you hate it. You hate that you moan softly, that your tongue presses hungrily into the wound, that your hands slide up his arm like you’re holding onto something holy.
And worst of all, he lets you.
You feel his fingers in your hair, slow and steady, as he watches.
“That’s it,” he murmurs. “Good girl.”
Your body shudders at the praise. You want to spit it out. You want to tear your mouth away. But your hunger is deeper than your shame, and right now you're starving.
You drink like he’s the only thing keeping your body from unraveling into ash and dust, knowing full well how ill you'll feel later.
The blood is hot, thicker than it should be, each swallow burning its way down your throat, and your limbs tremble as strength seeps back in—strength that comes from him.
But that’s not what breaks you; it's the sound he makes.
A soft exhale almost a sigh—and his grip in your hair tightens, not to stop you, but to keep you there. Like he’s savoring this just as much, the sight of you on your knees, mouth to his skin.
And something inside you twists.
Not with rage, not with grief, but something worse. Something wet and hungry and needy.
You’re not just feeding anymore.
You’re worshipping. The act changes without you realizing it. It’s not frantic or desperate anymore, the way it was before. The hunger is still there, but it’s become more—soothing, almost tender in its own dark way. Your lips are gentle against his skin, your tongue tracing the wound with a kind of reverence. The movement is soft, almost hypnotic, and it feels like a surrender, a quiet admission that you’ve already given in to him more than you care to acknowledge.
Because you’re already there—somewhere past the threshold of shame, in that liminal space where pain and power collapse into pleasure. Where your body has stopped belonging to your will, and now belongs to.
And finally you pull away, almost against your own will, as the blood continues to course in your veins, heightening every nerve, every sensation. But something about the intensity, the closeness, makes it too much.
The hunger in you, the desperation—it’s suffocating.
You let his wrist go, slowly, and your hands fall to your sides, trembling from the pull of everything you’ve just given away.
Sukuna’s presence hovers over you, almost tangible, his eyes never leaving you. It’s as though he’s waiting for something more—waiting for you to crack open completely. But you can’t. Not like this. Not yet.
You don’t look at him.
Instead, you focus on your breath, on the way your body seems to react to the smallest movements. Heat simmers under your skin, traveling elsewhere, somewhere it shouldn't.
Something urgent, that will need to be taken care of soon.
The room feels too small now, stifling, the air thick with tension and unspoken words. His smirk hasn’t faded, but there’s something cold in his eyes now, something that wasn’t there before.
“You’re weak,” he says quietly, but the words lack their usual bite... they sound almost measured, as though he’s seeing something new in you.
Or perhaps, you’ve shown him too much.
You don’t answer. You can’t bear to hear him anymore.
Tumblr media
It’s not even two more days, yet time passes slower when every second feels like torture.
Every waking minute with that fucking collar around your neck, with him making you do whatever humiliating trick that he fancies at the moment.
There’s something uniquely horrifying about being a supernatural being with healing capabilities, yet the capacity to feel pain like any other living creature.
And there’s something unique about the pain of being electrified.
It isn’t like stabbing or burning, no, it’s an invasive type of pain that hijacks the entire neurological system, fires every pain receptor at once, inside and outside.
Put the two together and you get a body that can never adapt—because each time the nerve damage from the shocks is repaired perfectly.
Calluses, scars, numbness— these are adaptive responses. Things you don’t get.
So every click of that remote, every electrocution feels like the first.
No dulling, no immunity. The pain never gets easier—of having every muscle in your body seize, of feeling like your nerves are on fire, smelling your skin sizzle.
And though your body may reset, your brain doesn’t.
The end result is feeling powerless in a uniquely feral way, because the one thing you can’t regenerate is control.
So you bow your head, do what he wants. Endure the humiliation rituals. The demeaning words. You hate them, but you learn that to ignore them is self-preservation.
But then he pushes too far. Sukuna's always been good at finding what really makes you tick.
“God, you’re so weak it’s pathetic.”
And as usual, you don’t reply, keeping your gaze lowered. But it’s his next words, that spark something bitter in you.
“Probably runs in the blood. Mm, what happened to your parents again?” He scoffs as you stiffen. “Killed off by some amateur fucking hunters. Now that’s humiliating.”
There's a shift in you, but you push it down and just stare blankly, at the floor, the wall—anywhere but him.
Anywhere safe.
And yet it festers—that sound in his voice, that smirk you can feel even without seeing it. It grows like pressure behind your eyeballs, a dizzying sensation in your brain.
Because you’ve taken everything—every insult, every jolt, every order barked with that false, velvet calm.
But this is different. He doesn’t just want you obedient; he wants you small.
And for the first time in days, you feel it—a flicker of something wild, a heat that doesn’t come from the shocks.
At first it’s a twitching in your jaw, but then your fingers curl just slightly as it builds like a pressure throbbing in your skull.
You wish you could control it—keep pushing it down, stay smart, stay quiet—but it’s done. The dam breaks.
There's no warning when you abruptly pounce towards him.
He doesn’t expect it, but instinctively the button on the remote is pressed, and that now familiar pain overtakes your system.
This time however, by some streak of luck, you continue to swipe at him with your flailing limbs, aiming loosely for the remote held midair.
It falls to the ground, and in an instant the shocks stop, your body already putting itself back together.
There’s a single second, one of those few moments where genuine surprise flashes across his face.
A hint of worry even, maybe.
Too late.
Your heel stomps onto it, the material giving way with a brittle crack, and something inside you unhinges with it.
Silence. A flicker of eye contact, and a wicked grin unfurling across your lips.
Then you move, but Sukuna’s already calibrated then, adapted to the new circumstances.
The fight explodes—fast, brutal, feral.
No strategy, no restraint, just raw nerve and muscle and memory. The blur of bodies crashing against walls, teeth flashing, claws slashing. Your claws rake across his side, catching skin along with the cloth and peeling it back with a wet sound that makes your stomach knot, but you don’t stop. He blocks, counters, but you’re not the same thing you were moments ago, not when your blood sings with rage, your limbs moving faster than thought, all sharp instincts and hunger.
He underestimates how long you've been waiting for this, how long you've needed this, how much of your rage you've been collecting.
Your shoulder takes the brunt of a punch that sends you sprawling against the wall. Plaster explodes in a white puff around you, and a rib gives with a sickening crack. Pain lances through your spine like lightning—but you're already up again, fangs bared. Blood clings to your lip, not all yours. Some of it you can taste—copper and heat, familiar now.
Addictive.
No more snarky comments, no more clicks or shocks erupting from the metal around your neck, only the sound of fists hitting flesh, of bone cracking under pressure.
You drive him back, but he’s laughing. He’s grinning—if the borderline maniacal expression on his face can even be called that, something so exhilarated that it makes your own skin buzz, fueling you more.
You feel your body burning, every nerve awake, every injury healing almost as fast as it happens, but not fast enough to avoid pain. No, you feel everything.
But this time, the pain feels almost like catharsis.
You spit blood, swipe your hand across your mouth, and launch again.
You don't know how long you fight, but it must have been long, with the way your strikes start to lose precision. His too. Sloppier now, desperate.
Everything that could’ve been a weapon has been—shattered chairs, broken lamps, jagged pieces of the coffee table now scattered like shrapnel across the floor.
Half the room’s destroyed, maybe more.
Sukuna is a ruin—his body a map of fresh wounds and older ones split open. Bruises bloom along his ribs, one arm hangs slightly looser in its socket, his lip is split, nose flattened, and even the scarred hollow where his eye used to be is bleeding.
You don’t wear your wounds the same way. You heal, yes, but even that comes with a price. Your body screams with fatigue, not just from the blows but from the endless, greedy churn of regeneration.
It’s slower now. Faltering. Some of your skin still glistens with that pale, translucent sheen of half-healed flesh—sticky, pink, leaking the thin serum that comes before blood. Other gashes are raw and red, torn back open mid-repair by the next hit, or the one after.
You're dripping, and trembling, but not from fear.
Every time you think you've hit your limit, your body finds one more burst of energy. And so does he. You’re both running on fumes and fury now, nothing left but nerve and instinct and the memory of pain.
You don’t see it coming.
One second you’re lunging, the next—he catches your momentum, turns it against you. Your back slams into the edge of a wooden table with a sickening crack. Pain explodes through your body, but you barely register it; you're already twisting, half instinct, half calculation—until he’s there again.
His chest crashes into yours, and the next moment, you're pinned. His body drives forward, shoving you hard against the table, the shock collar biting into your throat.
Your breath stutters.
The position feels wrong, and yet, it feels like everything you want, have been wanting—his weight on top of you, something dangerous in his eyes, something hungry.
“Still fighting?” he growls, rolling his hips into yours, slow and heavy, a taunt made of friction. You hate the gasp it forces from your lips.
You bare your teeth. “Fuck you.”
He smirks, all teeth. “Not yet.”
You thrash, but his grip just tightens—like he’s daring you to break.
“You hate this,” he whispers against your ear, his breath electric. “But you’re shaking. Not just from anger, either.”
Your nails carve red into his chest. He doesn’t even flinch. Just grins wider.
“I should kill you,” you hiss.
“You’ve tried.” His hand drags down neck, till your chest, giving one of your heaving breasts a testing squeeze.
“Fuck—Get off me,” you growl, breathless.
“Make me.” The challenge hangs there, hot and sharp, as he deliberately presses the hardness in his pants against you.
You snarl and buck, fury boiling up—but his voice drops lower, more dangerous.
“Mm, keep fighting. It just gets me harder."
A jolt of white-hot shame and arousal flashes through you. The shock collar burns your throat with every movement, but it’s nothing compared to the heat pooling between your legs, desire flaring despite every instinct telling you to resist.
“You’re pathetic,” you whisper, tears burning at the corners of your eyes as he leans in close, split lips ghosting over the corner of yours.
“Makes two of us then, I guess,” he murmurs with a dark laugh.
His lips capture yours in a hard, almost bruising kiss, and you try to resist, but the taste of him is overwhelming, the tip of your tongue automatically darting out to lick the blood seeping from the cut. It's sweeter here.
Your body reacts before you can stop it, your legs wrapping around his waist in spite of yourself, pulling him closer.
And Sukuna relishes it.
Every struggle, every breathless gasp, every moment of broken resistance only makes him more satisfied, more hungry for the fight, for the chaos, for the way you’re teetering on the edge of everything.
“Such a good little pet,” he whispers, his voice low and mocking as he grinds against you one last time.
“Su—kuna, please—” you choke out, unbearable heat burning you all over, more and more slick pooling into your panties as his bulge rubs into you. You hear him exhale when you tightens your legs around his waist further to match his movements with your own undulating hips, grinding your clothed cunt onto his erection.
“Please what?” He breathes, though you can tell he’s barely holding on himself, holding onto every last bit of his self control.
“Please fuck me.”
With those three words his hands are on the waist of your pants, ripping them off, sliding them down along with your panties in a borderline feral urgency. There’s almost a kind of relief when you finally get them off, falling to the ground, feeling your dripping cunt finally freed from the confines of clothing.
His gaze is ravenous—almost mirroring your own hunger—as he pushes you further onto the table, yanking your legs apart to forcefully spread them so he can see the sticky mess between your thighs.
You pant softly as he looks your pussy up and down, eye darkening as it roves over your puffy folds, your leaking hole clenching over nothing, his lip curling into a smirk.
“Aww all this for me?” he coos, before abruptly spanking your swollen clit with one hand. The impact makes you jolt, involuntarily letting out a small whine. “Does my pet need her needy little hole filled?”
You just sob in desperation — that burning, horrible ache only worsening with how close you are. “Y-Yes…”
“Finally honest for once, are we?” he hums, before pushing your legs up all the way to your chest and taking one of your hands to hook it behind your knee. “Here. Keep yourself held open like a good slut. Think you can do that?”
Anger pricks at you again, but you bite your lip and nod quietly, following his instructions to hold both your legs folded into you, exposing your holes to him completely.
Perhaps, if your head wasn’t spinning and so utterly lost in the need right now, you’d have some shame.
You watch with eagerly as he frees his cock, eyes widening and then dropping further in lust at the sight of it.
A trail of dark pink hair leads down to the tattooed base of his girthy length, though what really catches your eye is the glint of metal on the underside of his shaft.
Your mouth falls open a bit in surprise and he drinks in your reaction, smirking at you from over the bridge of his nose as he continues to pump his leaking cock at a relaxed pace. “Drooling just at the sight of my cock like a pathetic mutt, huh?”
Your lip curls back slightly as he provokes you again, clearly intent on not letting you live any of this down. But once again, you resist the urge to say anything back, knowing that if you open your mouth nothing good will come out.
The slightly alkaline smell of his precum hits your nostrils again, flaring up your hunger and the ache in your cunt all at once as you wet your lips, watching him with dark eyes.
Sukuna slaps his hard cock on your cunt once, then twice, humming in satisfaction at the soft gasps leaving your lips with each lewd wet smack.
With all your senses on edge, you become even more aware of the uncomfortable metal still wrapped around your neck.
It annoys you.
“Can you remove this thing?” You shift to show him the collar, slightly out of breath already.
He glances at it, unconcerned as he drags his cock through your slick folds, torturing you with the way his piercing catches on your clit. “Mmm, I don’t know. Seeing it on you turns me on.”
Sukuna flashes you a sleazy grin as the tip of his cock, oozing with pearlescent pre, smacks again on your clit. “So quit complaining…you wouldn’t want me to get that remote again, would you?”
Your mouth goes a bit dry, the threat snapping you back to reality just a bit as you obediently shake your head.
“Please.” You swallow. “I just need you in me, Sukuna…” You hold your legs apart a bit wider as you look up at him with pleading eyes, showing him that you’re willing to behave.
“Hm. Guess all that training did pay off,” he muses, flashing you a wicked grin as you feel something prod against the tight rim of your asshole.
Your jaw clenches as you flinch, trying to shrink away. “Fuck, n-not that hole—”
He leans over you, one hand planted firmly by your head as the other holds the tip of his cock, teasingly pushing a bit into your entrance.
“Oh? But didn’t you know?” he coos, breaching the rim just enough to make you squeak in pain. “Dirty sluts like you take it in the ass.”
Sukuna, who was probably expecting you to put up a fight or something, is evidently amused when all you do is pout in the most miserable, helpless way.
“I’ve beaten you up, cut you, drugged you, poisoned you, electrocuted you, and this is what you’re scared of? Anal?” he snickers.
“I can’t… I’ve never done it before, you’ll tear me apart…”
“Huh.” He grins deviously, rubbing his sticky tip into your rim, smearing it with precum. “I've seen how well you can heal yourself, though...”
Your eyes shoot open as you once again flinch, recoiling from the touch. “Sukuna!”
“Mm, fine,” he sighs, and you breathe out in relief when you feel the pressure lift away as he pulls his cock up to your other hole. “But misbehave and that’s where you’ll be taking it next…”
You frown at his dark promise but it’s soon forgotten when he begins to push into your weeping cunt.
Both of you inhale sharply as he breaches your entrance, pushing into the warmth of your plush walls, inch by inch. Even as aroused and wet as you are, you can still feel the stretch of your cunt around his thickness, a dizzying fullness that leaves you breathless when he finally bottoms out.
You’re given approximately one second to adjust to him inside you.
And then, the last of the restraints are ripped apart.
With a growl, Sukuna’s hips begin thrusting violently, making you squeal at the brutal pace he’s abruptly set, cock hitting you deep inside where you’ve been needing him, craving him.
Pleasure blanks your mind completely, eyes rolling back and pulling the most filthy moans from you as his cock rams against the sensitive wall of your cervix, over and over again, heavy balls slapping against your cunt.
“Oh shit, your cunt was made to be my cocksleeve,” he grunts as he ruts into you like a feral animal. “Good little pet, keep squeezing like that. Show me all that you’re—hah—good for—”
“Sh-Shut up!” you hiss between your own whines and the obscene noises of skin slapping against skin, his cock plowing into you like he’s trying to kill you with it. “I’m going to fucking murder y—”
Smack.
Sukuna slaps you for your insolent words, scoffing when you accidentally moan, and your cunt clamps down on him even harder. “Pathetic thing -fuck- you fucking love when I’m mean to you—”
He grips the back of your knees on top of your own hands in the crooks from where droplets of sweat trickle down, pushing down on your thighs to fold you further till your ankles are practically by your ears and it almost hurts. “—When I hurt you—”
“Y-yes, harder Sukuna!” you cry out, tears streaming down your cheeks, not even trying to deny his words.
What’s the point? Sukuna knows you better than anyone else on this planet.
“Filthy mutt!” he snarls, leaning down till his hot breath trails across your lips, cock hitting a tender spot in your silken flesh that makes you buck in ecstasy. “I hope that whole wretched bloodline of yours is watching me defile you!”
You bare your fangs, combined hatred, need, and every other twisted emotion culminating into just this, him buried inside you, dragging along your inflamed walls. And then the chain tucked into his shirt escapes. At the end of it, your broken fang, the one he kept, swinging against your face, suddenly feeling less like a taunt and something much more intimate.
You need him carnally.
With him fucking into you, your tits bouncing with each thrust, you lift your head, bared teeth attempting to latch onto his skin.
Sukuna notices what you’re trying to do and his hips halt suddenly, making you freeze mid bite too.
“I-I’m sorry…I can’t help myself…” you whisper.
The most puzzling part is you genuinely feel bad — which makes no sense. He’s hatefucking you, spitting vile words even when he’s balls deep inside you, and what should really seal in his sadistic nature — that damn necklace — it didn’t. Instead, for a split second you got a different glimpse of him, you, the complex nature of your entanglement with each other.
Maybe you mean as much to him as he does to you.
You wait, looking up at his unreadable expression, waiting for him to shatter the delusion, tell you how goddamn pathetic you are.
Sukuna stares at you, something flickering in his eyes—something unreadable, something dark yet intrigued. His hips are still buried inside you, his body taut with tension, but for once, there’s no mocking words, no sneer on his lips. Just silence.
Then, slowly, his grip on your chin tightens—not cruel, just firm enough to make you look at him, to hold you there beneath his gaze.
"Didn’t mean to?" he echoes, cock still buried inside you. His eyes burn into yours, unreadable. "Since when do you apologize for wanting something?"
You shake your head slightly, breathless, your chest rising and falling against his.
"I—" you swallow thickly, ashamed, confused. "I don’t know. I just—"
Your eyes dart to his neck, his pulse thrumming beneath his skin, calling to you like a drug you can’t resist. Your body betrays you, a soft whimper slipping past your lips as you force yourself to tear your gaze away.
For a long moment, he just watches you. Studies you.
Then, to your shock, his lips curve. Not into his usual cruel smirk, but something slower, something almost… amused.
"You’re pathetic," he murmurs, but it lacks the usual venom. Instead, there’s something almost indulgent in his tone, like he’s pleased.
He shifts suddenly, pressing his chest against yours, his voice a low, taunting whisper against your ear.
"You really do need me, don’t you?"
Heat rushes through you, shame and hunger tangling together into something unbearable. You squeeze your eyes shut, shaking your head no, but he only chuckles.
"Liar."
Then, to your shock, he tilts his head back, just enough to bare his throat.
Your breath catches.
Your fingers curl into his skin, your entire body aching, trembling with restraint.
"Go on," he murmurs, almost mockingly. "Take what you want."
He’s toying with you, you know that. But for a moment, just a split second, it feels like something else.
Like he’s giving you permission.
Your lips part—your fangs ache—
Then, just before you break, his hand yanks back on your hair, forcing you to meet his gaze again.
His expression is unreadable.
"But if you do," he murmurs, eyes gleaming darkly, "then you admit it. That you belong to me."
You give him a long look, fangs aching, mouth dry, cunt leaking as the pulse under his skin taunts you, the promise of his taste underneath.
You want to believe you don’t belong to anyone. That you existed always as your own.
And still with an exhale you let go of your legs to hold his neck gently as you wrap them around his waist, pulling him deeper to where his cock is still in you.
Your fangs pierce his skin, and the moment his blood touches your tongue, your whole body shudders. It’s too much—rich, intoxicating, him. You whimper before you can stop yourself, burying your face against his neck, drinking deep, desperate.
He gasps ever so slightly, even stiffens a bit, but you swear you can feel his dick twitch in excitement. A low, broken laugh escapes him as his hips begin moving again, working in shorter but harder thrusts. "Fuck—look at you.”
Your hands tremble against his back, nails caressing the surface of his skin, letting out a moan of pleasure, drinking deeper, dizzy with need. And then you feel it, the slight hitch in his breath, the way his hand clenches at your waist, fingers digging in too hard, as if to ground himself through the sharp bloom of pain.
This isn’t the first time you’ve fed from him.
But perhaps all the fighting, all the blood he’s already lost, even the physical toll of fucking you is finally getting to him.
Still, you sink deeper, trying to ignore it, his blood coursing down your throat, and his body shifts against yours, a ragged thrust that pushes deeper, rougher.
But even as you feed, you notice the tightness in his jaw, his breath quickening, a barely perceptible shudder running through his body. His control is slipping, but his pride won’t let him break.
You can’t ignore it.
So you pause.
You draw back just enough to meet his gaze, eyes flicking over his clenched features, the tension in his body a stark contrast to the hunger thrumming between you.
“You’re in pain,” you whisper, your voice barely audible, but the accusation is clear.
You wonder how much if for the first time, the cracks in his armor are showing, if ever so slightly.
His lips curl into a smirk, but there’s something softer, something reluctant beneath the bravado.
“Does it make you feel powerful?” he asks, but his voice cracks, betraying the effort it takes to remain in control.
You want to say yes, more than anything, but it would feel like a lie.
So, instead, you tell yourself that this hesitation, this sudden pull back, is simply the guilt of taking advantage of his weakness. This isn't about dominance. There’s nothing satisfying about an unfair fight. Or… well, whatever this twisted dance is.
But even as the thought crosses your mind, his fingers slide up the back of your neck, possessive, pulling you back into the crook of his neck.
“Take it,” he murmurs, voice roughened now. “If it means you’re mine, I’ll bleed for you.”
He must be delirious from blood loss. You can feel it—the faint tremor in his hands, the exhaustion creeping into his voice. But what’s your excuse? Why does your chest flutter in response, why does your heart race even as your body aches with hunger?
The sharp edge of his words has dulled, the venom slipping away as the heat between you grows. There's a rawness now, something unfamiliar even to you. Something that makes you want to take from him, just as much as you want to bury your face in his neck and stay there forever.
You hesitate, but only for a breath.
And then, with a flick of your fangs, you’re sinking back in, deeper this time, drinking greedily from the source, tasting his blood like a poison you can’t resist.
His body goes still, and for a split second, you think you’ve gone too far. But then his grip tightens, his body jerking against yours, his hips snapping forward in a desperate push.
A muffles sound escapes you as you suck harder, the potent taste of him going straight down to your swollen cunt like an aphrodisiac, your combined juices dripping lewdly from where his cock fucks into you, down the curve of your ass and collecting on the table.
“You don’t stop, do you?” he breathes it out like a curse, but it’s coated with something darker than frustration—something deeper. Something that feels like acceptance. “Just takes it like its yours.”
You suck in a shaky breath as he pinches your hard nipple, sending another jolt through you down to your cunt, lips slick against the wound on his skin.
“It—It is…” you gasp as he keeps moving inside you, each thrust tighter, more deliberate, like he's forcing himself through the ache. Blood drips from his throat, warm on your tongue, and still he keeps his head tilted back like an offering. “It’s always been, hasn’t it?”
Your whole body burns, his blood already beginning to rot inside your veins and you can only cling to him harder, shaking, gasping. Sweat slicked bodies stick to each other as your tongue slithers out as you drink, laving over the swelling skin, and all that exists here and now is him, him inside you, on your tongue, in your nostrils—
He growls softly, almost tender, almost cruel. His fingers tighten in your hair and he yanks your head back, tearing your mouth from his throat.
“Look at you,” he hisses.
You glance up at him, barely. Lips slick with blood, eyes hazy with lust and shame and something unbearably tender underneath. He stares at you like he’s about to devour you whole.
“You’re mine,” he says, voice ragged with possession. “No matter how hard you fight it or how much you hate it. You are mine.”
His hips speed up again, sloppily battering against your cunt, your garbled cries swallowed when he crushes his mouth to yours, tongue prying your lips open to taste his own blood on your tongue. It’s brutal, a bloody mess, sticky crimson fluid staining his lips as well, the scent of metal combining with the musk of sex permeating the air.
Him. His.
All his.
With a garbled cry and tears on your cheeks you cum as you tangle tongues, saliva mixing as warm liquid rushes from your hole. His own movements lose their rhythm, becoming erratic before with a final twitch of his dick he cums deep inside your cunt, the sticky white fluid almost as warm as his blood. It floods you till it starts seeping out as you pant into each others’ mouths, he keeps going, making sure to fuck his cum back into your spasming pussy.
Then, silence.
You lie there, tangled in the aftermath, sweat-slicked bodies cooling against each other, your breath still brushing against his punctured throat. His hand is knotted in your hair like he’s not ready to let go—no words, just the soft, steady rhythm of his breathing.
Neither of you speaks.
The room is heavy with the scent of sweat, blood, and the feral musk of sex. A healed wound on your ribs still seeps, and his lip is split, but the damage feels irrelevant compared to what’s left unsaid.
But then he untangles himself slowly, deliberately, stepping back. His brows scrunch slightly in pain, his shoulders stiff, his gaze avoiding yours.
You frown, confused. “What—”
“Get dressed,” he says, flatly, his voice an unreadable monotone.
“What?”
He stands, fastening his pants with a lack of care, not sparing you a single glance. “I’m letting you go.”
The words land like a slap.
You sit up, the sudden shock of his statement rattling you, the words caught in your throat. “You said—”
“I changed my mind.” And just like that, he turns back toward you, leans in close. You instinctively recoil, heart thudding as his hand moves toward your throat.
“Relax,” he mutters, his gaze never leaving the exposed skin of your neck. His fingers tilt your chin upward with a quiet precision, the other hand brushing over the metal collar locked around your throat.
Your pulse quickens. “The remote—”
“There’s a trick to it,” he says, his voice almost bored, like he’s speaking to a child. “You just never bothered to learn.”
His thumb presses beneath your jaw with firm pressure—a click, and a small hiss as the lock releases. The collar falls from your neck with a metallic weight, the finality of it making the air feel impossibly thick.
The gesture is disconcertingly tender almost, but a part of you stays still for some reason, still half-naked and leaking, blood drying in flakes around your lips.
“You have until dawn.”
Something twists in your chest. “Why?”
No answer.
You study his back, the rigid line of his spine, the bruises blooming under his skin, the flicker in his jaw. There’s no fear, only confusion—and something too terrifyingly close to hurt.
He doesn’t say it but you can see it now, in the way his hands shake slightly as he buttons his shirt. In the way he won’t meet your eyes.
He wants you gone because killing you would be too easy.
Because this chase is all he has left.
So you dress slowly, defiantly, watching him the whole time, waiting for him to change his mind again.
But he doesn't.
And when you finally reach the door, you pause. “This doesn’t change anything.”
“Good,” he says, finally meeting your gaze.
You nod once.
Then you’re gone, into the dark, not looking back.
The forest is damp from earlier rain, the small unpaved road muddy and glistening with small puddles under the dappled moonlight, the sound of an owl hooting somewhere nearby. Blood stains your skin, hair clinging to your damp temples, yet you don’t stop to fix it.
The empty peacefulness of the forest at night feels too big.
You tell yourself it doesn’t matter—that you’re free. That he let you go and that’s all that matters.
But something gnaws at you, a restlessness curling in your stomach like hunger.
You vaguely note you’ll be feeling unwell soon with his blood in you.
You could disappear. Vanish into the cities, into the forests, into the dark corners where even he wouldn’t follow.
But you won’t.
Instead you continue on, the only thought in your mind is a silent promise to take his other eye.
Tumblr media
Time passes.
Not in peace—no, never that.
But in violence and whispers and blood-slick headlines and cold case files that gather dust.
You move through the world like smoke—harder, leaner, hungrier. A myth haunting cities that chew people up and forget their names. Everytime, you leave your mark with surgical precision—corpses with their right eyes missing.
Not just a signature, but an invitation. And he answers—sometimes in shadows, sometimes in person.
You’ve fought him more times than you can count.
Each time, it ends the same—broken glass, broken bones, someone limping away before the killing blow can land. Sometimes it's you, sometimes it’s him.
Sometimes the line blurs.
The one constant, however, is that it never feels quite finished.
Once, you kissed him just to buy time to stab him. Another time he held your bleeding body and whispered something you refused to hear.
Neither of you ever stays down.
Among vampires, your name becomes cursed—not because you’re feared but because wherever you go, Ryomen Sukuna follows and no one survives him.
Among hunters, it’s quieter. They understand something the others don’t, that no one chases what he’s claimed.
Still, you chase him and he chases you, like wolves in circles, like hunger gnawing at itself.
Until, one day, the pattern breaks.
The next body you find isn’t a vampire, but a young hunter. Sloppy. Killed quick. And this time, it’s not the right eye that’s gone—it’s the left.
It’s the first time he’s answered with something of his own.
And somehow, that's how you know that it’s time.
Tumblr media
You straddle his torso, blade pressing into his cheek, panting. Even his own chest rises and falls in an uneven rhythm.
Both of you are smeared with grime, sweat, blood—your hair tangled, his disheveled.
It’s the dead of night, but the old train station feels like its own world, frozen in time. This place, like the two of you, feels forgotten by the rest of history.
You’ve been waiting for this day for years.
Sukuna’s face is torn up, more than a few of his ribs are broken, one of his legs is bent at an odd angle.
And yet, as broken as he is, he still watches you with that one remaining eye—unsettlingly lucid, like a window into the abyss of whatever terrible, beautiful thing lives at the core of him.
The eye you promised to take years ago. A promise handed down by blood. By centuries of hate and duty.
Your hand shakes as you raise the crimson-stained blade, your pulse pounding in your throat.
And he smiles. That maddening, blood-slick smile.
“Go on then,” he rasps. “Even score. You’ve always wanted it.”
You stare, intense with something unnamable as the blade hovers, ready to plunge in and leave him in a world of pure darkness.
This moment has been imagined, fantasized over. All the ways you’d carve it out, what you’d do with it. Once you even thought about pickling it.
But life never goes as planned, does it?
Revenge tastes sweet in theory, perhaps. Not in practice. Not now.
His eye, the last one, is fixed on you, unwavering. Like he wants to see everything—all of you—even as you hover at the edge of his death.
And in this moment, you realize you don’t want to destroy it.
Not out of mercy. Not out of weakness.
But because it’s the only part of him, maybe the only thing in the entire world, that ever really saw you.
And it’s hauntingly beautiful.
Feral. Fever-bright crimson, even as he stares down his death. Achingly human in a way neither of you were allowed to be.
“I—” your voice cracks. “I don’t want to. I want you to see me,” you whisper.
He exhales a shaky, rattling laugh, surprised. Then nods.
“Fine,” he says softly. “You’ll be the last thing I ever see.”
This day would have always come. Because however bright they may burn, humans only exist fleetingly. And one way or another, he would die long before you—the only difference would be that it wouldn’t be at your hands.
Something mundane, even. A miscalculated move, the slightest mistake.
You can’t bear to even think about him going out like that.
So it has to be you, and it has to be now. The only ending he deserves.
With trembling hands and stinging eyes you drag the blade down, touching it to his neck. Not deep, just enough for him to feel it.
And then he says your name.
The first time he’s ever said your name.
You pause.
“I’m glad it was you,” he whispers.
Something in you shatters unrepairably. Something that can never be put together no matter how many centuries you live.
Your throat tightens, silent tears streaming down your cheeks, and before you can think twice, you push the blade in. Slow and clean, but still he jerks slightly, though not with the strength he once had.
Blood spurts, spraying across your face before it begins to pour, running down his flesh like rivers of red. It smells as rich and alive as ever.
Instinctively his hands come up—you don’t know whether to stop or hold you. Either way, they falter halfway, dropping back down.
It’s too late now.
You can tell from the way he tries to breathe, but all that comes out is a wet, choking sound that might be your name as a gurgle rises in his throat, blood bubbling at his lips.
Sukuna was, perhaps, the strongest man you’ve ever known. But death humbles all things. And in the end, he’s no different—just another body reaching blindly for breath, caught in that last, trembling moment of naked, undeniable fear
The realization that this is it. That you don’t know what comes after this.
What hurts most is that moment—his lungs struggling, clawing for air that isn't there.
Then his gaze snaps to yours.
And in it, a glimpse of the impossible—a life that might’ve been yours together, if the world had given you a different story.
Like he promised, he watches you till the very end. One single bright eye that stays locked on you, even when the light fades out like a dying star. Till it goes dull and glassy, still staring at you till it isn’t.
He goes still.
And suddenly it hits you—sharp and certain, like a stake through the heart, why your venom never worked on him.
Because he was always in love with you. Or something close enough to it that the body couldn’t tell the difference.
You feel hollow. Like when he died, a part of you went out with him.
Hunger and—
Just hunger.
That’s all the rest of your existence will be now. Wandering, empty, purposeless.
Time slows and thickens, like air turned to water. Your ears are ringing, but there’s no sound. No wind, no breath, no heartbeat.
You’re not sure who you are without Sukuna.
And now you know what you have to do, something implicit in your bones that knows, that’s already pulling the blade out of his neck.
You stare at the blade in your hand, wet with his blood. Still warm.
It glints in the dim light like it wants you to follow.
You don’t cry; there’s nothing left for that.
Just silence.
Just the ache of his absence pressing down on your ribs like a weight too heavy to breathe through.
Slowly, you lower yourself beside him, curling into the warmth that’s already leaving his body. Your forehead brushes his jaw, lips pressing against the blood-slick edge of his throat like a kiss goodbye.
“Don’t wait for me,” you whisper, though you don’t know if you mean it. You hope you do.
Then you take the blade and guide it up, not hesitating now. There’s no drama or fanfare, just inevitability.
The metal bites in just beneath your sternum, and it’s almost a relief. The pain blooms sharp, then dull, then distant.
Your body slumps forward into his, cheek resting against his chest as you wonder what will happen next.
And in those final seconds, heart slowing, vision blurring, you swear you hear it—a heartbeat.
Not yours.
His.
Or maybe… just the echo of it. A phantom memory to carry you into the dark.
Tumblr media
Days later, only Sukuna’s body is found. Next to him, a mysterious pile of ash.
Together at last.

I'm begging dragonage fans to do a tiny bit of research about arm amputees before loudly shouting their opinions on the inquisitor returning in the next game Please lol.
Apparently, it was confirmed that the inquisitor, your chatacter from the last game (who looses their arm in the final cutscene of the DLC), will return in Veilguard as a customisable character, similar to Hawke, and they will play an active roll in the story. This has caused a lot of people to start speculating on how they'll handle the inquisitor's missing hand, with most people agreeing they'll have to have a prosthetic to be an active part of the story. Which, while I do think this is the rought bioware will take, isn't true, and a part of me really hopes they leave the inquisitor without a prosthetic arm like in the end of Tresspasser
Partially because we already have a companion with a prosthetic (neve) and it would be nice to see some diversity in how amputation is depicted in such a mainstream game, but also because you dont need a prosthetic to fight as any of the main 3 classes from inquisition.
Mage:
mages just need a staff, the game shows them as 2 handed weapons but it's totally beleiveable that it would be usable 1-handed (Neve also uses a dagger-like weapon in the trailer, you can make a "staff" in inquisition that functions more like an energy sword, and the Mage in the chargers uses a staff resembling a bow, so I think it's more that they just need a focus, the shape doesn't matter as much). A knight enchanter may struggle more 1 handed, but I wouldn't write it off as an option with some modifications made to their main staff.
Warrior:
the easiest to justify, because there are several cases of arm amputees fighting with a sword and sheild in history, and while many did have prosthetics, most weren't functional (meaning they were mainly for aesthetic purposes and didn't actually aid the fighter in any way. There were exceptions, like Götz of the iron hand, who's prosthetic was functional, but most were not). The inquisitor looses their arm just above the wrist*, so they still have most of their forearm. Most sheilds strap to the forearm, so it wouldn't take much adjustment to make that work, and you can use the other hand for the weapon. Obviously, two-handed weapons will probably be off the table, though, lol.
*edit to say, as several people pointed out, i got that wrong, my bad 😅. The inquisitors arm is actually amputated through the elbow, the screenshots i was looking at just weren't very clear and it has been a while since i got to trespasser lol. It would still entirely possible to strap a shield to the upper arm though, with some pretty minor adjustments to the existing straps on standard (as in, those used by non-disabled warriors) tall shields, so the point still stands.
Rogue
this is the one people tend to be the loudest about and the one I understand the most. Obviously duel-weilding daggers won't work (unless you give them something like the hidden blades in assassin's creed on their stump side, I guess) but using a single dagger still would, and is a perfectly reasonable approach, given that's how most irl people used daggers. Archery, though, absolutely can work without a prosthetic, despite what people think. Dragonage has crossbows, not something like Bianca (rip) but a small, single-handed crossbow is an option. Even ignoring that though, amputee archery is a thing irl, and not every arm amputee uses prosthetics for it. The bows are modified to be held in one hand and drawn with the mouth using a kind of pully-system built into the bow that I could very easily see being modified into some dwarven-style contraption in game (some double arm amputees use their feet to draw regular bows, but I don't think that would be pheasable in combat).
Like I said, I think bioware will probably go with a prosthetic, but i hope that they don't. Or at the very least, show them with it sometimes and without it other times (the same goes for Neve, no one wears their prosthetic 24/7, I'd love to see them both take them off around the home base, even just occasionally). A lot of arm amputees in particular prefer to go without one, and arm prosthetics in media are some of the worst offenders of the "perfect prosthetic"/"miracle cure prosthetic" tropes. It doesn't count as "diversity" or disability representation if it doesn't actually change anything other than the look of the chatacter, and im really, really desperate for some actually decent amputee representation in games.

valentine (aka sunshine reader and in love jason)
civil!reader x jason todd
prompt: valentine's day wasn't exactly jason's favorite holiday, he didn't really care about it, that's until his very excited girlfriend decided to surprise him.
a/n: okay, that's my second imagine, and i think it looks better, i was giggling and kicking while writing because these two are just soo cute, and the detail about the candle being syntactic is from a hc that jason just doesn't deal well with fire because of the explosion. english is not my first language, hope you guys like it ❤️
Tumblr media
It had been at least two weeks since you started leaving little hints about the big day that was coming, Valentine's Day. A cute romcom about the holiday, some cute couple videos, anything to try to get your boyfriend in the mood for the day, but he simply didn't seem to care about it.
You figured it was because he never really had the chance to properly celebrate, or anyone to spend the day with, before you, his only focus was the whole vigilante thing, he never would have dreamed that on a saturday night he would be curled up on the couch, eating ice cream and watching 'How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days', but he was, and with a pretty girl resting her head comfortably on his shoulder.
"Jay? Do you have patrol next friday? I thought we could go out for dinner or something?" the girl asks, lifting her head from his shoulder to look at him with her bright eyes and a little pout on her face.
"I think Steph can cover for me, it's just routine patrol, why? some special occasion?" he asks with a naughty smile on his face as he pulls her close to him again, leaving a kiss on her forehead.
"Nothing really special, I just miss you," she says and his laugh immediately fills the room, leaving that comfortable energy in the air. "Baby, you're literally wrapped around me, like, right now." He hears her snort and shove him playfully. "Doesn't stop me from missing you." The silly smile on his face took over as he stroked her hair. "You're just one of a kind, aren't you?"
Turns out that missing him was only half true, not that you didn't miss him, but coincidentally, next friday was also, Valentine's Day, and the closer the day got, the more anxious she looked like.
When friday finally came, she already had everything planned out to the last detail, she convinced him to finally go out with Tim (who had been trying to go out with him for weeks by now), and put her plan in action, she had all the classic stuff, flowers, chocolates, a beautiful dress, a set table on the roof, and the best part, a limited edition of Pride and Prejudice packaged methodically with a red bow, matching her dress.
You managed to convince Tim to join you on the plan, stalling Jason until 7 pm, when he came back to the apartment, just to find everything in complete darkness except for a trail of synthetic candles leading to the window.
"Honey? Are you ready yet?" No answer, the only option was to follow the candles to the window, where he found a table set on the roof, with a bouquet of red roses, synthetic candles lighting everything up, and his favorite girl with a smile from head to toe in a long red dress.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Jay," she says as she tries to strike a sensual pose, leaning on the table, but she's so excited she can't hold it in for long, running towards him and stealing a kiss. "So? Did you like it? I know you're not the biggest fan of Valentine's Day, but I just wanted you to be able to experience it and it's okay if you think it's too much, we can just go back inside and order pizza or something-" her nervous speech is interrupted by an anxious and completely passionate kiss.
"I loved it, sweetheart, I really did, how did you manage to do all this without me noticing?" she smiles playfully, shrugging her shoulders and pulling away from him slightly. "I may have had some bats helping me, and wait, there's more," she says excited, her smile as bright as the candles as she runs to the table, grabbing a package, her heels making a clicking sound along the way.
"I remember you told me you really wanted it and I just couldn't help it, I hope you like it" she hands him the book, wrapped with a big red bow that matched her dress, and the happiness on his face made all the effort she put on it worth it. "You're so fucking perfect, how did I end up with you, huh?" he asks, showering her with kisses, while the smile never leaves her face.
"I guess it was fate."

Mark of an Archon ft. Venti / Zhongli / Ei / Focalors / Nahida / Neuvillette + gn!reader
cw/tags: Mostly suggestive but nsfw in some parts (mostly Zhongli, Neuvillette) marking, kissing.
notes: Alright so... this is different from anything I've written before but I got inspired by the concept of the elemental symbols used as marks by the Archons to denote those important to them. Just short fluffy little dabbles I guess, first time writing everyone except the dragon men heh. I tried REALLY HARD to keep this gender neutral and be inclusive in descriptions but regardless, reader bottoms lmao. Hope y'all like it. (Y'all will NEVER guess where did I get the inspiration for all the marks' placements hehe) Edit: Y'all I have never played obey me WHEEZE the marks placement actually comes from a very old magical girl anime I loved as a kid XDDDD (except geo, it was on the belly button but-//hit)
Tumblr media
It is said that the Archons place a mark on the body of their loved ones. A symbol of protection, perhaps of “ownership”, imbued with their elemental energy. Legends has it that they remain mostly invisible to the naked eye, glowing brightly only when the Archon in question touches it, but leaving behind a distinctive trace able to be identified with elemental sight.
However, none of this has been proven at all, and remains mostly as a fantastic tale, just a rumor…
Or is it?
-Barbatos
Venti’s mark rests between your shoulder blades, the small Anemo sigil emulating tiny wings in the most appropriate of places. It makes him fond of calling you his “angel”, though, you know it cannot compare to his own real wings... it makes your heart flutter nonetheless.
It remains mostly covered, and yet without fail, Venti’s hand would always gently rest on it before his hand slides over to your shoulder or waist. At this point the touch soothes you and you’ve come to expect it every time you enter Angel’s share and bright Aqua eyes land on you.
In the dark of night, those precious moments of closeness and passion among the bedsheets, Venti’s nimble fingers, calloused by the Lyre and the bow alike, trail along your spine and stop at the mark, before he leans in and places a kiss on it.
For the God of Freedom to brand someone like this… it would seem as a contradiction, but you know it to be his blessing, his vow to you and your love. As his lips go up to your shoulder and his hands slide down to your waist, sneaking between your legs, he closes his eyes and hums a soft tune.
-Morax
The Geo mark is found on a rather unusual place, and to tell the truth, it even embarrassed you a little at first. The golden diamond placed just below your navel, partially hidden by the line of your underwear. When asked about it, Zhongli simply murmured something about dragon mating, fertility or virility… his cheeks dusted red.
You admit though, that once you get used to it, you do find yourself idly tracing it from time to time. Sometimes it seems to glow softly, or feel warm, perhaps responding to the Archon when he thumbs gently at it, contrasting and comparing with his own blackened arms, etched with veins of gold. Amber eyes staring up at you with love and desire as he places a kiss on it making you shiver.
Zhongli constantly wants to mark you more, in all sorts of ways. Drape you in silks and cover you in gemstones and gold. Leave bite marks along your skin. Douse you in his scent. It appeases his draconic instincts. But nothing compares to that little geo sigil, a personal indisputable claim, tattooed on your skin.
In a way, the mark could be taken as the God of Contracts’ signature and an unbreakable oath to you, his mate. It makes the dragon purr as he rolls his hips into yours, sinking deep inside you and making you whine as his palm presses against it.
-Beelzebul
Right at the center of your collarbone, like a pendant held by an invisible necklace, that is where the Electro mark was placed by Ei. Sometimes it’s a real shame it can’t be seen normally by humans, it would make for a pretty nice tattoo…
It’s not like the Electro sigil is rare to see anyway, quite the contrary, a rather popular choice and common sight all over Inazuma with deep cultural and religious meanings alike honoring Her Excellency. But one look from a youkai or one of the mikos at Narukami shrine and you know this is different.
Ei could act aloof and have a hard time expressing or understanding feelings, but the way she looks at you as she straddles you… dark violet hair cascading down her back and sides, hands roaming your chest and settling at your shoulders. She pins you there under her intense purple gaze and then bends forward to kiss at the sigil before moving to your lips.
The Goddess of Eternity considers her choices deeply and rarely ever goes back on her word or breaks a promise, and that is what she bestows upon you with her mark, a promise. Of love, of respect, of loyalty. Who would’ve thought the Electro Archon could be so… passionate?
-Focalors
You couldn’t believe just where Lady Furina had placed a pretty, blue, Hydro symbol on your skin. When asked about it she’d just giggled and said everything had a reason when it came to divine marks such as these… then proceeded to not explain at all. But seriously, your inner thigh?!
You could only sigh but smile softly at her antics as she laid across the couch, head rested in your lap, taking a nap by using your thighs as pillow, or demanding to be fed more sweets and sputtering indignantly when you poke at her nose or cheek instead, blushing.
She often drives you insane, paying special attention to the hydro marking with kisses and nibbles when you need her lips to go just a little more to the side… but oh, how she enjoyed teasing and riling you up. Mismatched blue eyes blinking coyly under thick eyelashes.
This is Lady Furina’s pledge to you, her word of honor as the Goddess of Justice, to love and cherish you no matter what. For despite her innocent act, she is guilty of having fallen for you.
-Bonus: Buer (Platonic)
Many people underestimate and doubt Nahida. A grave sin, in your opinion. When she places her mark of Dendro softly in your forehead, you feel nothing but pride, willing to follow and defend her and her teachings, for it is an honor to be her acolyte.
You see her wisdom in her actions, in the contemplating looks at her beloved city and people, in the way she always tries to solve problems and learn from difficulties, in her kindness, gentleness and little smiles. You see her love in the way she helps the elderly and soothes the children, in the candied ajilenakh nuts she shares with everyone, in the sparkle of her unique green eyes.
Like any other Archon, her nation and all its inhabitants are like her children. Despite her preferred appearance, the way she holds your hand as she guides you along and brushes at your hair gently with comforting words and praise feel more akin to a mother.
Just as you trust her, she trusts you, that is the covenant her sigil represents. And in the eyes of the Goddess of Wisdom, one day you’ll reach the sky and stars above.
-Bonus II: Hydro Dragon Sovereign
You stare at the sigil in the palm of your hand. An ancient symbol of power, no doubt, but with a meaning long since lost to time and shrouded in mystery. Yet, its significance is crystal clear to you: “I am yours as you are mine.”
The way the Iudex would always, without fail, hold your hand gently and kiss your palm instead of the back of it as it was traditional would no doubt confuse some people, but it makes your heart skip a beat. This special connection, the knowing look from those gorgeous lavender eyes and the hidden smile pressed against your skin…
Your back arches with a moan as Neuvillette ruts softly into you, slow and reverent, peppering kisses and nuzzling at your neck. His hand takes a hold of yours, fingers intertwining and you shiver as the marking in your palm seems to react. Your grip his hand tighter, canting your hips as well and surrounding him with your legs, asking for more, more, more-
It’s unknown if one day his kind will return to power, just as it’s impossible to predict the flow of the elements and the energy in leylines or just what the future will bring. But for Neuvillette, having you by his side feels like the most refreshing spring water and makes life that much sweeter.

No matter how long you spend with Sylus in the N109 Zone, your sleep schedule remains persistent. Sure, you stay up as late as you can to spend the night with him while he’s up and about, but the darkness, warm ambiance, and your body’s own internal clock turn against you sooner or later.
Sylus does the same for you, too. He grumbles about it, but he does enjoy spending the morning with you when you’re extra cuddly, searching for the last vestiges of your sleep before you have to get up. He’s better at staying awake, but you catch him dozing a lot, head tilted back and eyes closed as he lounges in a chair near you. It’s adorable. You love the effort you both put into trying to maximize your time together.
But today, Sylus is conked out. He was gone for most of the night and came back worn and weary. He didn’t have any visible injuries, but when you cupped his cheek and used your Evol, you could feel how drained his own was. He nearly fell asleep right there, eyes closing dangerously as he leaned into your touch and the soothing warmth of your ability. You dragged him to his bedroom, kissed his forehead, and told him to sleep. He mumbled vague threats about you waking him up, but they fell into silence before he finished any of them.
With the mansion to yourself for the day, you have to find ways to occupy yourself.
The twins and you play Kitty Cards for a bit, but they cheat so horrendously and tease you for losing, so that’s out until Sylus can sit behind you and glare at them any time their fingers try to slip more than one card from the draw pile.
You go through his books. A few are interesting; texts about Protocores and Evols stealing your attention for a time. But they have you yawning and wanting to crawl into bed with Sylus.
You even go to his dedicated exercise space, but without a partner to spar with, you don’t even work up a sweat before leaving.
Normally, you aren’t so restless. Any other time you had to spend the day with yourself, you were able to settle on something for long stretches of time, even into the night if you weren’t careful. Now, you can’t sit still for 30 minutes.
You check the time. 9:56. It’s not even 10 yet and you’re already struggling to come up with things to do. You fall into a couch in one of the lounge rooms with a humph, pulling out your phone and preparing to fall into a doomscroll through old Moments posts.
Fortunately, one of the first few posts is the perfect motivator not to: a recipe promising to be the number 1 rated chocolate chip recipe. You click on the article and scroll through until you reach the comments.
These are the best cookies I’ve ever had!!!
mmmnn wanna eat the dough raw its sooo gooooood
Tossing my store-bought cookies out rn I will only be making these from now on
It seems promising enough… You look at all the ingredients you need. It also seems simple enough for you to manage without burning the place down. You’d be surprised if the kitchen wasn’t already stocked with everything listed. But just in case…
You head down to the kitchen where the chef is coming up with meal suggestions for dinner. He’s jovial, always red in the cheeks and bright eyed. You wonder how he got hired on. You ask for help gathering the ingredients you need, and he’s happy to bounce from cabinet to fridge getting everything. Once they’re all laid out on the counter, you thank him and ask if you can have the kitchen to yourself. He bows and tells you to have fun, going over his list of notes as he leaves.
You turn the oven on, setting it to the correct temperature and letting it preheat. You forgot to ask the chef about bowls and measuring cups, but you find them easily and set them on the counter with the ingredients. Once you have music playing (quietly) on your phone, it’s easy to lose yourself in the process.
The world hones in on each step. You measure out the flour and sugars, mixing them together with a whisk. Without any preplanning, you have to soften the butter in the microwave before you can add it. Eggs are cracked against the countertop, calcium-rich shells scraping quietly as you set them aside to throw away later. A dash of vanilla, and a generous amount of chocolate chips, and the dough is ready.
You find a couple baking sheets and line them with parchment paper. As you roll small amounts of dough in your hands, you bounce on your feet, excited to taste your sweet treats in just 15 short minutes. You pinch off a little extra from one dough-ball and pop it into your mouth. If this was a preview for the finished product… You hurry to get them into the oven and set a timer.
To distract yourself from constantly checking the time, you clean up your mess. You put away what you remember the designated locations of, and set the rest aside for somebody else to deal with.
Hm, you should probably leave some for the chef, as a thank you for letting you borrow the space. And save a few for Luke and Kieran, or else they’d bug you for “forgetting” them for the rest of your days.
You open up cabinets until you find plates. There’s a set, the perfect size to divide the batch of cookies between three parties. You reach for it, stretching to be on your tip-toes. You gasp as a hand comes into your vision. When you try to back up, you hit a wall of muscle. A clingy wall of muscle, if the way his arm wraps around your waist and holds you there is any indicator. He grabs a plate from the stack.
“Ah, I need three,” you quickly tell him. He sighs, but does as you say, bringing down three plates and setting them on the counter. As soon as his hand is free, you’re being fully embraced by Sylus, both arms holding you close to him as he presses his face into your neck. You reach up to run your fingers through his hair. “Did I wake you up?”
It doesn’t seem like he’ll answer for a moment, until he breathes in deeply and presses a soft kiss along your shoulder. “No. I could smell whatever you’re making through the whole mansion.” His voice is quiet and rough, affected by his slumber.
You smile and turn your head to kiss his forehead. “I’m making cookies,” you say. “They’ll be done soon. I was gonna leave some for the chef and the twins. But most of them will be just for us.”
You glance at the timer, anxious to know how much time is left, but you still have several minutes before you need to worry about it. You tap his arms and he reluctantly loosens his hold, enough for you to turn around and hug him back. His arms tighten once more.
“You’re clingy when you’re tired, you know that?”
He huffs a laugh against your skin. “As if you haven’t insisted on having me carry you around everywhere before because you were, quote, ‘too tired to walk anymore.’”
You tug playfully at his hair. He groans and bites your neck. It’s not harsh, but it does sting. You’re sure it’ll leave a mark regardless.
“Now you’re just being mean,” he growls.
You laugh and kiss his cheek. “Only a little. I think it’s cute.”
He doesn’t answer. His teeth nibble lightly along an invisible path, interspersed with light kisses. One of your hands combs through his soft hair, scratching his scalp lightly as you pet him. The other trails slowly along his back, side, and around to his stomach, searching for injuries hidden beneath his clothes. He notices, but he says nothing.
“Are you okay?” you whisper to him.
He pulls his mouth from your skin, finally lifting his head to look down at you with half-lidded eyes. The striking red of his irises seem softer right now, like the delicate plumage of a cardinal. “I’m alright.”
You study his face, as if you’d know if he was lying to you. But you believe him. So you nod and press a feather-light kiss to his lips. He sighs at the contact, like he’d never been touched so sweetly for hundreds of years. It’s such a beautiful sound.
The oven’s alarm startles you out of the moment. Sylus groans with a frown, letting you go and stepping away until his back hits the kitchen island. Your hand squeezes his side apologetically before you pull away.
You don a couple of oven mitts and open the oven door. The cookies are all aligned on the baking sheets, golden brown and slightly oozy from the overkill of chocolate you added. You excitedly pull each pan out and set them on the stovetop, before turning off the oven.
The recipe says to let them cool for five minutes… but you don’t have the patience for that today. You grab one of the plates from the counter and a spatula from a drawer, and carefully deposit some cookies onto the plate. You’re positively beaming when you bring them over to Sylus, holding the plate up to him.
“Want one?”
He hums. “Yes, but…” He takes the plate from you and sets it behind him. “You’ll burn your mouth if you eat one now.”
You half-heartedly glare up at him. “C’mon, Sy, I’ll be careful. I worked hard on these!”
“And you can stand to wait a few more minutes to taste the fruits of your labor, sweetie.”
“You just want more cuddles, don’t you?”
“Of course.” He grins. “Is there any better way to pass the time?”
You sigh, long and dramatic. But you wrap your arms around him, resting your head on his chest, right over his erratic heartbeat. He tangles a hand in your hair this time, cupping the back of your neck to hold you in place.
He feels the exact moment you go to reach for the plate and snatches your hand away from it, holding it captive by intertwining your fingers together. “Sneaky, but I’m not tired enough to pull that trick, kitten.”
You chuckle and press your nose against his septum. “It was worth a shot.”

gdragon with a bubbly!reader who's always so entertaining and energetic. reader is a solo artist from YG company along with bigbang and 2NE1. when the company held a YG family concert, we could see gdragon basically just playing around with reader and fans take notice of this, some even makes an edit of them from the concert.
YG’S WEIRDOS
Tumblr media
At the YG Family Concert, G-Dragon couldn’t stop teasing you, from playful banter to dragging you into an unexpected dance break. Fans quickly took notice, and by the next day, viral clips had everyone convinced—he definitely had a soft spot for you.
hiii tysm for requesting❤️❤️❤️ i hope you like this!reposts and comments are appreciated!
The YG Family Concert was always a highlight of the year, bringing together all the artists in one massive, unforgettable event. As expected, you were your usual high-energy, chaotic self, always moving, always hyping up the crowd, and making sure everyone was having fun.
It didn’t take long for fans to notice that G-Dragon seemed especially entertained by you.
From the very beginning, he gravitated toward you, whether it was standing beside you during introductions or laughing at your antics from across the stage. It wasn’t unusual for Jiyong to be playful, but tonight, it felt like he had made it his personal mission to mess with you.
When it was your turn to introduce yourself, you stepped forward with an exaggerated bow, extending your arms dramatically. “Good evening, everyone! I am Y/N, the greatest performer to ever exist—”
Jiyong let out a loud laugh beside you, shaking his head as he took the mic. “I didn’t realize we were doing theatrical introductions tonight.”
Without missing a beat, you turned to him. “Oh? You wanna do one too? Go ahead, make it dramatic.”
Raising an eyebrow, he smirked and gave an overly elegant bow. “G-Dragon. Fashion icon. Genius. Your favorite artist’s favorite artist.”
You clapped, pretending to wipe away a tear. “Beautiful. That was inspiring.”
The playful exchange earned laughter from the crowd, and it was only the beginning.
Later in the night, during BIGBANG’s performance, you were standing at the side of the stage, dancing along like a proper hype person. Jiyong caught sight of you from the middle of the stage, and before you could react, he ran over and grabbed your wrist, pulling you forward.
“Y/N, dance break!” he announced into his mic, giving you absolutely no time to prepare.
The beat dropped, and instinct took over. You committed fully, breaking into the most absurd dance moves imaginable—over-the-top body waves, uncoordinated moonwalks, and random high kicks that made no sense while 2NE1’s CL and Daesung cheered you on.The audience erupted with laughter, and Jiyong was laughing so hard he nearly missed his next line.
When the music finally moved on, you doubled over, catching your breath. He nudged your shoulder, grinning. “I didn’t think you’d actually go for it.”
You crossed your arms and raised your eyebrow dramatically. “Embarrassing myself is my superpower.”
By the next morning, the internet was flooded with clips of your interactions.
One video of Jiyong laughing at your dance break had already hit over two million views. Another edit compiled every moment the two of you shared on stage—him nudging you, laughing at your antics, and literally dragging you into the spotlight. The title? “GD can’t hide his soft spot for Y/N.”
Even your fellow YG artists had started teasing.
“Jiyong, why do you always mess with Y/N?” Taeyang asked during an interview the next day.
Jiyong shrugged, barely holding back a smile. “They’re just… hard to ignore.”
Your phone buzzed not long after.
Jiyong: We’re going viral, troublemaker.
You: I take full responsibility. You’re welcome.
Jiyong: You’re gonna pay for this.
You: Oh? What are you gonna do? Challenge me to another dance battle?
Jiyong: …Don’t tempt me.
If this concert was anything to go by, the next one was going to be even more chaotic.

౨ৎ — jungwon dating idol you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
idol!jungwon x fem. reader | things he do when he’s dating you as an idol
genre: fluff, est. relationship | wc. 0.4k ♡ a/n: this has been sitting in my drafts for AGES. not my best work, but i still wanted to post it ^^
jungwon would be trying so hard not to look your way at any ceremonies and award shows to prevent any rumours or scandals. when he bows because your group passes by, he will be staring at his shoes and refusing to meet any of your eyes. — more under cut!
he definitely gets shy when you show up on the big screen, and he’s lowkey vibing to your songs as he watches you dance. probably melts on the spot when you smile at the audience. (he likes telling himself that it’s for him and him only.)
jungwon wouldn’t be showing it, but he probably gets so excited when you and his promotion schedules and activities clash, because what do you mean that he gets to see you for five seconds as you pass by him for your performance in music bank?
jungwon is most definitely asking the staff if he can please please please have a dance challenge with you for his/your latest comeback.
jungwon would definitely collect your photocards, probably trades and buys from your fandom under an anonymous name and makes you sign every one of them.
he also collects your albums and has them in a little drawer and flips through them when he’s bored. (he may or may not have tabs on your pages)
jungwon has a whole playlist with every single one of your group’s songs and has your parts perfectly memorised. he will not hesitate to sing along when the song comes to your part when he’s in the car or in his room.
jungwon is an avid viewer of your fan cams and he leaves comments complimenting you.
jungwon probably watches ship edits of you and him on tiktok whilst giggling and blushing. he’s down bad for your fr.
jungwon is always getting into online fights with your haters, he can be a menace if he wants to be.
jungwon constantly tiring his members out by talking about you nonstop in the dorms. y/n this and y/n that. the members have had enough.
he also gets really sad when he sees you flirting with your fans.
he would just randomly crash at your dorm or practice room without notice in the middle of the night.
jungwon just loves you sm <3
