BIG JIM BEGINS SPOILERS!!
Petey is probably younger than Dog Man, Big Jim, Chief, and Nurse Lady, and I have proof (I’m not happy about this discovery.)
I will be using this messy timeline above to refer to events here.
Ok so Big Jim and Grampa sorta cross paths, so there’s a starting point to base evidence off of in this timeline.
This theory is assuming that Petey wasn’t born before Grampa proposed to Grace (which I think is a reasonable assumption.)
Logically, after he’s proposed, Petey probably wouldn’t be born for at least another year (because like, it takes a while after proposing and getting married to have a kid) and when Big Jim goes on a little play date with dog man and chief, he hasn’t aged a bit.
So clearly the play date happened sometime in the near future after the alien incident, and petey would probably not have been born yet.
Another piece of evidence is Big Jim’s appearance in scarlet shedder, where he seems to be a few years older than petey.

So considering the evidence, I am compelled to ask how old Petey is, and furthermore, how is Dog Man not dead yet?
Btw I’m joking I know it’s just a kids book but still, how old is Petey and how much older/younger do you guys think Dog Man is than petey? Or did I miss something that makes this whole theory false?
Ok that’s all I’m out bye bye.
#dog man#petey the cat#big jim#dog man theories#fan theory#big jim begins#dogman#please help me with this I’m going insane about this stupid theory

Ok dumb overthinking time

What the hell does Chief mean by Catman??
Is science too much of a smart thing for cats to be into? Is Petey's intelligence just human like, and i know we COULD say yes but that means that other cats are not human-like because they're dumb???
Is he implying that Petey is like some sort of human hybrid??
i guess it not better time than ever to play this clip
but really in the end of the day, these lines were probably not canon approved and was just a throwaway line to connect Dogman with Petey just being two sides of the same coin.
but if not then im gonna go crazy
#overthinking a throwaway line again#but hey you can join me in the comments with ur ideas#it's just a theory#a game theory#dogman#dog man#dog man petey#petey the cat#roblox

based on what fukuchi said regarding the one order, fyodor can't use it. the one order has already been configured to fukuzawa. it's not clear that fyodor knows this (although it's explicit that fukuchi didn't trust fyodor).
it's also telling that fukuchi comments that fyodor wouldn't be able to interfere. he doesn't clarify with what fyodor wouldn't be able to interfere. (such as, for example, fukuchi reconfiguring the one order against fyodor's conception of the plan.) it's also relevant that fukuchi says "no one else could have thought it up," indicating he understands, to some degree, fyodor's genre of strategic reasoning. surely, then, he's picked up on fyodor's overt blind spots regarding others' capacity for trust and subversion based on trust.
that fyodor can't command the one order renders fyodor's threat moot, although nevertheless informative.
because if the one order coordinates all of the users' subordinates, then anyone subordinate to fukuzawa could be commanded by fukuzawa. bram, shortly before fyodor took him, pledged himself as a knight to aya, even forsaking his prior title to subordinate himself to her.
his subordination to aya is so deeply ingrained that fyodor even still calls her princess and affirms that the vow remains.
in other words, all aya has to do to give fukuzawa control over the vampires. is subordinate herself to fukuzawa. vow with her whole, fierce heart that she is his to command. or, fukuzawa can reconfigure the one order to respond to her voice; if fukuchi was able to transition the authority he was granted to use it to fukuzawa, then fukuzawa should similarly be able to do the same.
tl:dr, the one order is useless in fyodor's hands, and, together, fukuchi's love for and trust in fukuzawa and bram's love for and trust in aya are a chekov's gun.
#bsd#bungou stray dogs#bsd 115#bsd theories#bsd bram#bsd aya#also like i know fyodor is holding the one order but kunikida and junichiro are loose and have had time to recover#this is nothing a wire gun and illusion cant fix#among many other options#fyodor worked SO hard to get bram's body and idiot doesnt even know what love and trust do to a man

DOGMAN
The Dogman is a cryptid that has been reported primarily in the United States, particularly in Michigan, Wisconsin, and other parts of the Midwest. It is described as a bipedal, wolf-like creature with the body of a man and the head of a dog or wolf. Here are some detailed points about the Dogman:
Origins and History: The legend of the Dogman dates back to Native American folklore, but it gained widespread attention in the late 20th century. One of the earliest modern reports came from Michigan in 1887. The story was popularized by a song called "The Legend" by Steve Cook, which aired on a Michigan radio station in 1987.
Physical Description: Witnesses describe the Dogman as standing around 6 to 7 feet tall, with a muscular build and covered in fur. Its eyes are often reported to glow, and it has sharp teeth and claws. The creature is said to walk on two legs, though it can also run on all fours.
Behavior and Sightings: Sightings of the Dogman often describe it as a nocturnal creature that is elusive and shy, yet potentially aggressive if provoked. Many encounters occur in rural or forested areas. Witnesses have reported seeing the Dogman crossing roads, lurking near homes, or even peering into windows.
Explanations and Theories: There are several theories about what the Dogman could be. Some believe it is a misidentified animal, such as a large dog or wolf. Others think it could be a hoax or an urban legend fueled by mass hysteria. Cryptozoologists suggest it might be an undiscovered species or a relic population of prehistoric creatures.
Cultural Impact: The Dogman has become a part of local folklore and has been featured in various media, including books, documentaries, and television shows. It has a dedicated following among cryptid enthusiasts and paranormal investigators. The Dogman remains one of the more mysterious and intriguing cryptids, with ongoing reports and investigations keeping the legend alive.

Monkey Man's cinematography is gorgeous and uses just about every color in every way possible, except for green. as i recall, green is only used in three places: the flashbacks of Bobby's unindustrialized village (and only ever when his mother was alive), the temporary sanctuary of the hijra temple, but also the blueish green dress Sita wears. the movie never shows us if Sita ends up okay after everything because it doesn't have to

Catzai is canon because he meowed with a straight face and no one stopped him
particularly he meowed after Fyodor mentioned the city being filled with rats
therefore Catzai confirmed. Catzai is the real hero we need to stop Fyorat from running through the sewers 🐀 their human manifestations are just mirages and the real battle to the death will be a Tom & Jerry skit

Makima, devils and self-fulfillment

Dumping some Makima and CSM thoughts after a part 1 binge bc I think about her forever and ever. I’m sure I’m forgetting some devil lore, feel free to correct what i get wrong/what’s been confirmed. On the table of contents there’s why & how Makima got fixated on Chainsaw, her revealing liking for the country mouse and discussion of her nature & emotions & desires. Was the scorpion doomed to be a scorpion?
The most of this post was thought of during a conversation with @saccharineomens and I don’t think it makes sense to jump into the spiral it sent me on without first laying down the interesting groundwork theorizing she did:
"Thinking about how makima herself wants to be deified. I wonder whether she recognizes the difference between Love As Worship and the love that Aki, Power, and Denji had. She says she wants to help humanity by having Chainsawman eat the “bad” devils, but why does she want to help humans? Because she was ordered to by the Prime Minister? No, her drive seems much more personal than that, it seems like she teamed up with the PM for contractual reasons. (In the most recent chapters we see governmental members wanting certain devils to be eaten, too. What was Makima’s relationship with them? She’s too independent to just follow THEIR orders, she’s Control.)
So is she wanting to better humanity for the accolades, or out of the goodness of her heart? She sees the big picture. She sees any small sacrifice as worth it for the end result, and she’s ruthless. Perhaps she thinks that a more sedate human race would be easier to control? But Makima doesn’t loathe humanity. She never acts like she sees all humans as lesser. She loves humanity’s creations, like good food and movies. She just wants Good Things all the time
She says she prefers the country mouse BUT adds a story where she helps exterminate country mice like vermin. She likes the simplicity yet rejects the idea of being simple. Makima the complex individual you are"
~
The story itself seems to prefr the country mouse. Well- it strikes a balance, shows that a risk to live good & fully can be very worth it, but still that stability over ambition is preferable, proning having a simple happy life over fame, a simple job instead of a dangerous one, etc etc. And I do find Makima’s answer on this so so interesting, she prefers the country mouse, but this preference isn’t out of affection or sympathy but because of how relaxing it feels to exterminate them when they cause problems.
Order satisfies her. Her order satisfies her. She likes the action of rooting out disorder. Maybe this is the devil part, like how Power especially wants blood and drinking it, I feel there’s an itch to every devil, and for Makima it’s a very rigid world view/morality/standards & making things follow her rules and submit to her order.
And maybe this is why she’s attached to humans too, why she felt it was worth it to stick with the government- because devils are chaotic by nature (it’s a whole plot point that hell is essentially a free-for-all battleground for example), meanwhile humans are the species that universally rule Earth with systems they invented and instilled. They made then enforced rules, complex and intricate webs of them. She feels alienated amongst devils but she understands the humans’ need for an orderly organised society, and now she wants to be part of it. Control and conquest require social dynamics after all, requires civilizations or groups. War is chaotic while peace is, well, peaceful— Makima resents her sisters for being death, famine and war, things that throw the world in such chaos. She wants a world of perfect order, no matter how much collateral damage there will be if the end result is control.
This is even more interesting if you consider that yes, Makima is untouchable of her own design, she deifies herself with her omnipresent amount of control and the sway over others that she seeks and encourages— There is this urge to dehumanize her for it, that yes, she is the devil of control and that means she was never going to be any different, have any more feeling be any less uncanny. And I love part 2 so much for this, because it shows us the war devil and the famine devil and we see how frankly uncharismatic with poor self-discipline they are, Nayuta too, and it helps us realize just how much Makima’s success was self-made.
She admires Chainsaw Devil, the Hero of Hell, because he had his own code and his own rules and he made Hell, the chaos pit, submit to them unfailingly. Wherever he goes he decides what he does and what happens to the people he encounters but does so consistently, he has his mechanism and his rules that he always obeys, and he fulfills them every time. It’s still a mystery the why of Chainsaw Devil’s behavior back then and how it works exactly, maybe Pochita left hell because he was tired of these rules he lived by like chains, but still, he was a servant to his code. Makima would have been glad being killed and eaten by Chainsaw Devil because it’d have been becoming part of his design, his conquest, his domination, she’d have been part of that —his— order. Through her death she would be shaping his world and be part of a conqueror’s making history. Like how she appreciates the country mice that die for the sake of order. Like how sacrifices must be made to herself, like listing the name of every person whose life was lost to the Gun Devil— All for the ~greater good~, for her vision for the world. Conquest always thinks its reasons are justified.

And she does mention with the country mice thing that she goes out to a friend’s farm every year! She has a human friend?? That she visits yearly and she genuinely likes it?? Ultimately she lives a busy city life because of her goal and drive and her urge & satisfaction with overseeing shaping the world herself, but part of her, like so many characters including Angel and Aki and Reze, wishes she could live a slow peaceful country life. Moviegoing and dogs and mice in a farm- Wouldn’t it be so much simpler if Makima could find fulfillment and happiness in being a farmer, in keeping control of her own farm, getting satisfaction from exterminating vermin and expertly getting everything right, the right crops grown at the right time on the right soil? Here, too, in a way it’s trying to have full control of an ecosystem, but her goals would be easier to achieve and better, without ceaseless sacrifice or much pressure. But Makima wants grandiosity and her goal does matter to her on a fundamental and moral level, she does think she knows what’s best for the world, and with the power to change it why wouldn’t she strive to? Visiting the farm is just a break, just something she does in fall to help out and just in time to see the vermin extermination. It calms her, then it’s back to actual work.
In capitalism, even the one at the very top of the ladder is ultimately alienated from others and often unsatisfied by their lifestyle, always wanting more and more power because surely that’s the extra edge they must be missing to be content— like how Makima thinks she wants to dominate Chainsaw Devil instead of being his equal. And she says it herself too, she likes humans the way humans like dogs…….. And she keeps so many dogs :( Makima prefers the country mice because they’re calming to root out, maybe because she usually mainly deals with city mice. It’s very easy to equate humans to the mice in this allegory because it’s pretty direct and she’s already likened humans to lesser animals compared to her. She’s self-isolating by design for her design but she still craves relationships and contentment, and the dogs are the embodiment or her want for bonds and occasional simplicity because there is no possible ulterior motive, no way they tie back into her wider plan. They’re her personal life— something that feels so alien when speaking about Makima. Personality and individuality and likes and preferences and friends they visit every year. She likes how easily she can train a dog and how they become putty in her hands, at her beck and call, how much they love her and how much she enjoys their love. How simple and straightforward and easy it is. She keeps them because she likes being loved by them and loving them, and she’s gotten and raised so many. A conqueror always wants more and more and more, is never satisfied.
Devils and agency

Like Power the blood devil wanting blood and having a fixation on drinking it like with Denji’s, or how it was shocking that the violence devil was pretty tame and nice and how he himself theorized it was because he was a fiend and possessing a human body… There’s something to be said about nature vs nurture with the devils. The way they reincarnate and always embody their fear makes it seem categorically like nature, that they always always end up fulfilling the role they were named after and born to fill… Outside influence they’re helpless but to conform with. Like the humans accepting their spot in the social ladder and the shittiness of their living conditions and job under capitalism. Makima craved being equals with someone despite being the control/conquest devil, Angel Devil despite claiming to be a devil who likes to see humans dying was haunted by their deaths and wanted to avoid ones like Aki’s. The Ghost Devil being ironically haunted by Himeno, seemingly helping Aki in her memory out of… Lasting affection? Or maybe it was less about being haunted itself and more about it recognizing how Himeno haunted Aki, and acknowledging that, with the memento, paying her respect to the ghost of her. It’s Angel Devil’s devil nature that makes him like human suffering, so then is it his angel nature too to still care about their deaths? Is there truth to this or is that just personality, just our confirmation bias haunting every part of their identity like it might in their own view of themselves too? We do know different reincarnations of devils do have different personalities after all.
Yoru, war devil, is the most interesting one when talking about the nature vs nurture debate with devils. There is how through her we see the perhaps the most the consequences of a devil stopping being feared— we see a horseman for a concept as universal and horrifying as war be reduced to some bird who needs a contract with a human to have any power even just on the situation when meeting Asa. And through the story we get to know her better, and it becomes clear that her goal is fueled in good part by simply wanting to be remembered and respected through fear. Liked, validated, seen a powerful. But what is more isolating than war? Or control? We also see Nayuta accepting others’ house rules. If part 1 shows perhaps the futility of running away from the truth, with Denji’s memory, with escapist coping mechanisms, with passivity and denial under a corrupt system and with abusive relationships- running away from your own feelings and from the reality of things and from all that you are, more complex than simply human or devil or both or neither— part 2 builds upon the theme of cult of personalities, the chainsaw church, etc. The apocalypse is coming, but this celebrity superhero might save us all, or doom us all uh, dunno. The hero of hell reliving the cycle of pressure from responsibilities and expectations, maybe the part will end with Denji running away like Pochita did~
But yes, on the reverse, I think Famine is a very interesting example of how a devil’s namesake may be more innate than coerced by circumstances. One would think that a famine devil would only like inflicting famine upon others, not being famished itself, but Famine has a bottomless stomach that can never, ever be satisfied, sated. I struggle to find a psychological explanation for this, except that maybe instead of her being hungry it’s her feeling empty when she’s not eating, tasting and having that high sensory experience that releases serotonin in humans, sort of like drugs? But I do take this as a step towards the compulsion theory overall, feels like a reach in the consistency otherwise. And compulsion does not mean it’s something that they like nor that it’s something that they fight against, pretty neutral, just a nature that nudges you towards one path. Maybe it’s even just their go-to for entertainment. Maybe it’s the only thing that makes them feel right and whole. But still the debate remains, what is it, a compulsion or an urge or an itch or an active desire or a conscious chosen want? Does it change anything in practice?
And because of all of this earlier, devils being self-fulfilling prophecies with their role is not in unsignificant part nurture, because doing their atrocities is how they stay remembered— feared, powerful, known— hell and devils are a very isolating place and breed after all, and we do see devils can want companionship. Existentially, it’s their purpose and how they justify their place in the world, in the terrifyingly vast and unknowable cosmos.
We still know so little of what makes Chainsaw Devil so special, why his carnage is so self-controlled. Despite a chainsaw maybe being possibly one of the most "nature" thing you can be— a tool to cut things, a human tool that can be helpful for many things, something to be wielding by another at their judgement on what they decide, but mainly something to cut, a tool suited for carnage, to hurt and to destroy. A blade with a toothed chain, spinning around and around and around endlessly on the same road at the same pace. Such a…. Innately circular concept. And yet the Chainsaw Devil is his own, not driven by an urge or by chaos but his very own brand of order, his own unique assigned purpose, a "if you call i’ll come running to help" policy equalizing everyone. He chooses to withhold his destruction and interference otherwise, and then he chooses to be used. If it’s a choice, of course.
Maybe this is what inspired Makima so much, that Chainsaw Devil could decide what to make of himself despite expectations or innate role. Because even Hell he decided & managed to subjugate under his will and whim, with a precise vision and process. When Chainsaw Devil acts like Denji or is defeated, Makima clicks her tongue and loses her admiration and respect. Makima admired and liked Chainsaw Devil, but only as long as he matched her great image of him in her mind, as long as he followed he rules for what she thinks he should be like. She admired him for his unrivaled self-made success, but once he stepped out of that to truly embody self-fulfillment and agency, disappearing from hell to live on his own road at the beat of his own drum… Well. Surely that was a mistake she has to correct. However their second battle ends, the better conqueror will have prevailed and she’s happy about that, all in the spirit of domination and subjugation.
Imo Makima’s biggest tool, similarly capitalism’s most helpful effect for its own purposes, is complacency. Resignation and passivity helps uphold the system and go along the flow of the will of the people in power. Aki and Reze go along with orders even when knowing their job is trash, etc. In Angel Devil especially we see him go along with the flow uncaring about anyhing, and we discover it was in part due to Makima taking away memories that motivated him. If every devil decides this is just how things are and how things should be that’s what they’ll continue to be and do mindlessly, not pursuing a better life like Chainsaw Devil and Denj and not seeking to change the world like Makima. I think even Makima veils herself to a lot of things, she doesn’t like to think deeply about some things, like her desire for connection, or how making bad movies disappear is strenuous and unsustainable and requiring sacrifices at best— how her judgement is as subjective as anyone else. How liking the country mouse and her friend back at the farm and her dogs could be not devoid of sentimality. Wanting bad movies erased is her one biggest show of selfishness, of pettiness and individuality, it’s about her tastes, simple as. About how she can have tastes, and cry seeing a scene of people hug, and want things that aren’t logical, her ideology and mind twisted into a pretzel to avoid acknowledging that she doesn’t live and breathe purely for the mission she’s made a single-minded robot out of herself to accomplish. Nayuta is assertive and selfish and loud, Makima is manipulative and strategically both for her goals and for coping hollow.

Everything in her plans and goals she says is for the greater good, necessary evil, manufactured happiness the way she’ll have decided for people— and that’s the thing isn’t it, like with War, it’s the crack that shows it was all truly about herself after all. Her self-made deification still had the flaw that a self made it. Makima is not omniscient, and it’s not Chainsaw Devil the not-so-fellow-kindred-soul conqueror who gets the best of her, but a city mouse, a dog, someone she would have never thought to respect, Denji.

Not gonna lie, there was some SCATHING secondhand embarrassment bsd 119 but I think there was a lot of substance to it. This chapter, it felt like we saw an expression from Fyodor that we really haven’t seen before and I think that this particular look on his face reveals so much about him. We’ve definitely seen him angry before, but this was something different.
It’s not just anger, it’s contempt, disappointment, disgust, and discomfort all rolled into one look. I think that seeing Atsushi fold immediately and watching him pleading on the ground was just too much for him, I think it made him really uncomfortable to see such a display of vulnerability. Especially since that raw emotion and vulnerability came from a place of profound love for other people and it seems like Fyodor couldn’t imagine debasing himself for such a cause. Atsushi let him down and didn’t live up to his expectation of a majestic creature and that made Fyodor openly show his contempt for him.
#Others have mentioned it but this situation is so much like Makima’s feelings towards Denji#She wanted a certain idea of chainsaw man that Denji was too human to embody and we’re seeing similar thing with Atsushi and Fyodor#Makes me wonder if Fyodor was once like Atsushi (like maybe he used to care about someone so much that he would sacrifice anything for them)#and Atsushi’s reaction reminds him of that past vulnerability#bsd 119#atsushi nakajima#bsd atsushi#fyodor dostoyevsky bsd#bsd fyodor#bungou stray dogs#bsd manga#bsd theory

i was thinking abt the new chapter and yes its a little worrying that fyodor is very possibly alive (icanttakethisanymore) but its also kind of funny to see dazai genuinely panic a bit for once and chuuya's just. there. he could literally not give a rat's ass. dazai's leg is broken and he's choosing to sit there and do nothing as dazai tries to drag out a dead body from under a wreckage. i literally cant help but love him
#i like that dazai speaks aloud about what hes thinking#for my thoughts to make any sense i usually have to do that too :3#also i figured fyodor wouldn't be dead YET because it just felt like there was no way??#i got no theories its vibes only man#bsd#bungo stray dogs#bungou gay dogs#bsd chapter 114#bungou stray dogs#bsd dazai#fyodor bsd#chuuya bsd

Theory time on the whole "ADA member transfers to PM" deal and why I genuinely think this was part of Dazai's plan (loooong post):
Based on what we have, I actually think we can assume that Fukuzawa, Ranpo, Dazai, all of the higher ups in the PM, and the govt. are aware of the deal and that Dazai will go back. Here's why:
Prior to Fyodor's arrest, Dazai had been maintaining an essentially crimeless record (and if he does do something morally questionable, he either had government backing from Ango, or was done in a way that can't be pointed back to him).
However, before anything could progress in S4, Dazai purposely put himself out in public to get arrested. I'd even argue that he had Ango purposely release some of his old crimes rather than it being written on the ripped page of the book (and if it was actually written in the book, then Dazai must have anticipated it in the first place because he knows Fyodor would do that).
This idea is further cemented by the fact that Ango, Mori, and Chuuya are actually aware of what Dazai is doing (more than the ADA even). Dazai had contacts in and out of Mersault ready before his arrest.
To make these plans in the first place, Dazai had to have talked to (at least) Mori and Ango. This would have to be roughly around the same time as when Mori and Fukuzawa made a deal. What if all of this was just one meeting?
Because let's face it. Fukuzawa only saying "except Yosano" was such a red flag moment. If there was anyone Mori would have wanted back in his control, it would either be his angel of death or his demon prodigy. The conversation must not have ended there...
Also, why was this deal even created in the first place? I feel like there could have been a different agreement, and this just looks like an excuse to get Dazai to go back. Fukuzawa agreeing with this deal is weird because he knows what the PM is like. Why would he subject his employees to possibly experience working there?
Dazai may have actually purposely put himself up for the taking in preparation to a future enemy that needed him back in the PM- back in his hometurf with all the manpower he could command and to give soukoku the free reign they had once again (without the limitations of the law on Dazai).
So anyway, now we have Dazai with his crimes leaked, which would have been fine alone because it could be played off as part of what was written on the page, but then he kills some guards in Mersault and commits jailbreak, along with several other crimes in just 30 minutes. In addition, he is clearly shown to be working with Chuuya, a well-known criminal, who has also committed several crimes while there.
Say what you will about Mersault security (which is actually good but just couldn't keep the demons on hold lmao), but they would 100% have records of what Dazai had done there. Even if he could be considered crimeless before, he can no longer be called crimeless again now. His actions here are beyond the manipulations of the book. To have these crimes (in France) erased would require the government to have an agreement with another country and to have Dazai go into hiding for some time again (doable, but troublesome).
That leaves us to the fact that Dazai is back to willingly committing crimes and partnering up with Chuuya as Soukoku for an extended period of time. All of these acts are known to Mori and Ango.
This implies that the choice had been made prior to S4, and this is why Dazai could do all these crazy schemes.
This also clears up why Ranpo and Fukuzawa no longer consider Dazai in the ADA roster recently. Not because they don't care for him, but because he is secretly no longer part of the ADA in the first place, and Dazai's safety is now under the concern of the PM.
Scarily enough, this could also possibly set up Dazai as the next boss of the PM in preparation for the next big enemy. One thing some people in the fandom noticed was that Mori had mentioned before that Dazai would become the boss when he turns 23. This fits in the timeline well because Dazai is several months (or maybe even weeks) closer to his 23rd birthday (or he may already be 23 right now). All of this may have been pre-planned for longer than we think.
Also, as a personal opinion on the other possible transfer candidates, they actually have better hold on the ADA and would not function well in the PM.
The PM would clash with Kunikida's ideals (though it would be interesting to have the future leader of the ADA be put in the PM the same way the future leader of the PM was employed in the ADA)
Tanizaki would be a great candidate, especially for his skills (and it would be interesting to have another redhead in the PM hahaha), but I highly doubt Naomi would take his transfer sitting down (Naomi would probably even attempt to join the PM) and, in turn, Junichiro would hate to bring his sister in the PM as well. Tanizaki's entire shtick involves his care for his sister, and taking that away brings him back to having no motivation to go crazy.
Atsushi is actually my 2nd option. Moving Atsushi to the PM would make him learn more about how the PM functions, and this allows SSKK to spend more time building their relationship. Chuuya could watch over the two of them as an aide to Dazai's mentoring, and this could lead to more character growth for Atsushi. Unfortunately, this voids Atsushi's plans to learn how to fight under Kunikida's tutelage, and the "no killing" deal with Akutagawa slightly lessens its impact because they would now be in the criminal organization rather than the opposing one (I'd rather have Akutagawa join the ADA tbh. This would further cement the "no killing" idea that Atsushi demands of him and build the SSKK partnership.)
Kenji is also a good bet, but the PM already has Chuuya, which makes having Kenji redundant. Kyoka would not return without an all out brawl and would actually waste all the efforts from S2. Ranpo would be insufferable lmao, and he is not made for Mafia types of strategy (he's smart! But he is not here for the manipulation and long chess matches. He doesn't have the patience for that when he can get straight to the point), and I'm not sure who in the PM he would have synergy with yet...he works best as a detective.
NOW, I may be wrong, because who knows what Asagiri will pull on us, and all of this is based on what is shown (I'm not sure if we could trust it lol), but this is the theory I came up with based on my understanding of events. Dazai planned to go back, and the tripartite knows of it.
Before anyone says this is a waste of Dazai's character development, I'd argue that there may be a misconception as to what Dazai is actually here to learn.
Odasaku knows that good and evil does not matter to Dazai. Dazai choosing to save people is not Dazai's character growth because he has ALWAYS been capable of that despite his unconventional means. The real character growth that Dazai needed was that there was a world beyond the darkness that he insists on putting himself in, and that he is capable humanity. Mori realized this too by proving the humanity in Dazai by chasing him out with Odasaku's death. Dazai has also realized this, and is now ready to return to his hellhole as a new man touched by the light. He is ready to be a leader, not the tyrant that he would have been without this lesson. Mori just prevented another insane mafia boss from taking the throne.
In addition, the PM has repeatedly been defined as the organization that protects the city in the dark. Being in the PM does not hinder Dazai from saving people (again, they've done so before while there). This might actually give him more power to move around and defend Yokohama more efficiently.
I guess this is it for now. I may have missed some things, but these are my main arguments for now hehe
#bungou stray dogs#bsd theory#firm believer of Dazai going back to PM because he is the only one meeting the plot reqts lol#bsd dazai#dazai osamu#bro said its his turn to play with the xbox#dazai having full command of the PM and being amicable to the entire tripartite is probably important for the future!#also wow this is long...i keep yapping#im a pro yapper. this is my 2nd blog where i keep yappinh#dazai would not be surprised by the deal too. he can read mori as if the man were a toddler book lmao.#edit: i made some minor grammatical corrections and made the title bigger

Some thoughts and theories I'd like to share about DGM (Spoilers!)
JUST A FAIR WARNING: THERE ARE TONS OF SPOILERS HERE!!
So I just got into contact with my friend who was busy and aboard and we talked about dgm, about the recent chapter (253) and a few other theories that are floating around in the fandom and, after a few exchange we both conjured up some questions, thoughts and theories:
Is Allen the Dog's name a coincidence? Was Mana even aware of Allen Sr.'s existence? What was Katerina's relationship with Adam? Was it friendship or something more? And who TF is Cyrus exactly? When exactly did Nea met Allen Sr.? Was it before or after his betrayal? How exactly did Lavi Sr. and Allen Sr. met? Were they introduced to each other by Nea?
All these questions, we tried to figure some of them out, one by one! So, let's start with Allen the Dog and the name.
So originally, some of us figured that Lavi Sr. (previously known as Past Allen... 😅) to have met and was even friends with Mana, and that in his confusion and grief, Mana named the dog (his only companion before our Allen) Allen! It made sense, but then 252 and 253 released and we had to go back to serval chapters before. My friend and I thought that, perhaps, Nea might have told Mana of his host being named Allen but then it doesn't make sense for Mana to name the dog Allen. My friend thought that with Mana's personality and deteriorating sanity, might've have been touched... in some way or another that Allen Sr. is willing to become his brother's host and disappear! So, in honor of this unknown man, Mana named the dog Allen. It made sense, but who knows?
Now, to the Campbells! We know that Katerina met Adam, and became close enough with him to mourn and cry when Adam dies/splits and even took in the twins that is essentially, his sons. Katerina is portrayed to be a very loving mother who nursed Mana back to health. Katerina's name means "purity" while her middle name Eve...is already a hint itself to her possible relationship with Adam.
Now let's go to Cyrus whose face we don't even know and is only mentioned like once. Let's first start with his name, because I found it interesting. Now Cyrus is a fairly popular given name and the name of several Persian kings, particularly Cyrus the Great (c. 600–530 BC), but also Cyrus I of Anshan (c. 650 BC), King of Persia and the grandfather of Cyrus the Great, and Cyrus the Younger (died 401 BC), brother to the Persian king Artaxerxes II of Persia. Cyrus, as a word in English, is the Latinized form of the Greek Κῦρος, Kȳros, from Old Persian 𐎤𐎢𐎽𐎢𐏁 Kūruš. Now the meaning of the name Cyrus has been and continues to be a topic of discussion amongst historians, linguists, and Iranologist. The Old Persian name "kuruš" has been interpreted in various forms such as "the Sun", "like Sun", "young", "hero," and "humiliator of the enemy in verbal contest" and the Elamite "kuraš" has been translated as one "who bestows care". Interesting right?
So, the thing is me and my friend came up with one, fairly ridiculous but likely plausible theory: Cyrus could be Cross' father. Idk why, but it's what we came up with, now, we do have the theory somewhere that Cyrus = Cross but it's rather unlikely. @allen-fanfan theorized that Cyrus may be the elderly people mentioned in ch. 137, which is, again a highly plausible theory than anything proposed (so far at least). We do know that Cyrus is apparently a very weird and eccentric individual, but I am curious about the fact that Nea mentions how Cyrus is "where the strangely colored smoke". But this is all I have sooo 🤷
Now, let's get into our next topic. Which is Nea, Allen Sr. and Lavi Sr.! Now, I'll have to say that this is somewhat connected to the Allen the Dog theory I mentioned above, but I'll first explain me and my friend's thoughts about these three central figures: Now, Nea and Allen Sr first met when Allen Sr was dying after his entire squad all died, the first question was how exactly did they die? And which military did Allen Sr came from? What war were they fighting? Timeline is important but considering how we were given no dates and only an approx. timeline, ehh... My friend very quickly abandoned the entire "what war?" question. I don't blame her tbh, since the question is somewhat unimportant since we get an indirect confirmation that Allen Sr is likely an ordinary soldier. Anyways, regarding Nea and Allen Sr's meeting, I did post a question whether Allen's wish was to die by his own terms, since, he is...a soldier and all that.
But, the most important question that I do wanna ask is when exactly did our Noah and dearest Allen met? Was it before the betrayal or after? If before, there's this possibility of Nea telling Mana of his willing host, thus the entire theory above this section. But if it's after the betrayal then, well, it would explain why Nea and Allen Sr didn't seem to know each other well despite Nea's apparent attachment but then again according to Lavi Sr, Nea is the kind of person who has trouble admitting he is friends with someone, but still cares for them deeply. So, who knows, he could've gotten attached despite their short-lived time spent together.
Here's my final question asked; when and how exactly did Lavi Sr and Allen Sr met? When is important, because timeline, again is important, timeline would help us better understand the story and it would give us some context on how long our dear characters have known/spent time together. As for the how, it could be a possibility that Nea might have introduced them to each other or Nea might have told Lavi Sr, but then again, how would Lavi Sr know where/who Allen is? If Nea and Allen Sr. ever separated that is, but it wouldn't make sense since it'd be like "hey so you'll carry my memories so that I can reincarnate and erase your existence once I wake up goodbye!" like. That would be so weird and awkward, so me and my friend went to an assumption that Nea likely spent some time with Allen Sr. although it was very brief until Lavi Sr and Allen Sr met. But who knows, idk me and my friend were just bullshitting and speculating about all these things sooo 🤷
Welp, this is all we had, so uh, comment/ask or reblog if you guys have something to add, correct or ask since me and my friend kinda of gave our all about this theories.

ok hear me out, 'The Black Dog' is wolfstar coded and not just because of the literal connection with Sirius Black and his animagus but in general. The Dog is very obviously Sirius and the way she goes on building the first verse of long lost friendship and relationship- "I am someone who until recent events shared your secrets with" and that's easy to tell Sirius and Remus were one half of the Marauders and they were friends, lovers and obviously shared everything with each other. The location is the Marauder's Map and it could possibly be a memory that Sirius can't get out of his head while being in Azkaban that relates closely with Remus who is having the same flashback but at a bar or in a deep emotional capacity when he sees a black dog that reminds him of Siri. "She's too young to know this song" is Tonks (no offence to her but ye) the age gap is there, she was there when Sirius was alive and it was a visual representation of Remus choosing her above him. When Remus steals glances at Sirius when he thinks no one is seeing for 'old habits die screaming' and now he doesn't know what to do with this for he feels Sirius is too lost in despair. Post Azkaban Sirius is "moving through the world heartbroken" and with desires of having a friend in Remus if not a lover. "And it kills me, I don't understand"— is very clearly the chaotic mess inside Siri's head as he takes over his life after 13 years of imprisonment. "Now I wanna sell my house, and set fire to all my clothes," is perhaps the disdain with Grimmauld Palace and his past that he tried so hard to escape haunting him like a full circle. "This tail between your legs, you're leaving" is again his untimely death, too soon and a life too short with great regrets and glorious moments.
You can't tell me this song isn't about Sirius Black

So does this mean GOLB is a Catalyst Comet Reincarnation? Or does he create them?
We know the catalyst comets appear every 1000 years to "shake things up a bit" as Finn puts it in Hot Diggity Doom.
Which can be interpreted as a form of Chaos, they exist to avoid stagnation and embody certain aspects of the universe, like Finn embodies good while the Lich embodies evil, and presumably Jake embodies creativity.
We know The Lich is the "Last scholar of GOLB" which implies he's somehow related to GOLB. This last episode's ending only reinforces this conexion.

But... What would it mean for the catalyst comets to be created by GOLB?
Well, firstly, it would mean that our understanding of GOLB...
Has been wrong this whole time.
Before, we used to think GOLB was this monster/demon that existed just to bring Chaos, or a fundamental entity that brings Chaos and devour worlds for a greater purpose of balance. But it seems like his influence, if this theory is right, is even greater than we thought.
We have almost no knowledge on the catalyst comets or GOLB, but it's interesting that they decided to mix the comet's staple appereance with GOLB's, implying a connection.
Golb as a reincarnation of a catalyst comet has some evidence, as well
GOLB seems to have a big connection to Mars without having been created there, as his first Era of Chaos is referred to as "The First Coming of GOLB."
You might say "But it's Earth where the comets land, not Mars," but I raise you the fact that Earth is really close by and the first place GOLB would be able to cause Chaos in besides Earth is Mars.
It seems like they don't have any proof that he's coming back, so it's strange that he even came at all in the first place. So it's probable that Earth and Mars were the first places where GOLB caused Chaos and destruction.
Mars and Earth in general are really connected, with Mars sending food to Earth, Abraham Lincoln was the former King of Mars, and Moe was heavily involved with constructing the Domes of Mars and the technology.
In any case, most of this is probably wrong, and we will find out a lot more about GOLB next week anyway, but I wanted to share my deliriums still.

I'm sincere when I say I don't know how y'all have the energy to scrutinize Mori treating his successors like they're competent when the Port Mafia's skill users have been culled thrice over within seven years by men who can't act right (Rimbaud, Verlaine, Shibusawa, Gides, Fyodor), and the longevity of the tripartite framework relies on Mori not patronizing who's left.
Especially considering, like, there are foreign military police in modern Japan, British Somaliland appears to still exist, and Ango has seemingly kept Taneda in a medically induced coma for an irreversible amount of time so that he can unilaterally leverage Taneda's fictional authority within a very-historically-real cabinet in the Japanese government that hasn't existed irl since the Meiji constitution.
Like, I'm not asking anyone to engage with media in any other way than the way they enjoy most. It's just. Has anyone else noticed bsd!Russia appears to have annexed bsd!Abkhazia and bsd!South Ossetia.
All of this to say: you don't really have to beat the same dead horses if you don't want to. If you do, then by all means, lay into Equus with your whole chest. But, also. There's a lot in bsd the fandom scarcely, if at all, touches, and the incongruity between the work's layers and worldbuilding and even niche fandom engagement with the material is stark.
#bsd#bungou stray dogs#this isnt a value judgment#i just feel like a conspiracy theorist sometimes#because i have reread and rewatched and rehashed this work over and over and over again#and each time there's a whole college major's worth of new things to lose my mind over#and then i open tumblr and there are fan weeks that wouldnt permit much of the canon and source material#and like. discourse about mori's parenting when that man's womb is barren in bsd.#why do you think he's like this. mori ogai was meant to spoil children and kafka asagiri put him in an existentially threatened mafia.#that's a girl dad without any girls. instead he just has dazai and chuuya.#and verlaine's undernourished inner child#and like q who is the personification of avant garde freudian psychoanalytical theory from the 1930s#like. we know what's wrong with mori. now someone explain to me how the united nations is structured without ww2 creating the p5.

Ok ok ramble theory time
Okay so what if Fyodor comes back and Dazai is like fuck I can’t do this I can’t beat him again because Dazai is actually so human and Fyodor literally isn’t
So he has to break himself to beat him. Disregard his morals. Become corrupt. No longer human.
BUT bc of the skk fighting dynamic in that Dazai is there for Chuuya when Chuuya is “corrupt”, THIS TIME Chuuya is there for Dazai who has to become corrupt in order to defeat Fyodor once and for all.
idkidkidk it just came to me lmfaooooo anyway (and creds to @starlightshadowsworld for sparking this theory)
#this is literally just me blurting a random thought into a post for funsies I don’t actually think it’ll happen#it’d be cool if it did though#OOOH OOH OR AS A FIC#fuck man I would read the fuck outta it if it were a fic#rambles#bsd theories#skk#soukoku#bsd#bungou stray dogs#dazai osamu#bsd dazai#bsd chuuya#chuuya nakahara#fyodor dostoevsky#bsd fyodor
