This was pretty much my first thought when Amy showed up. I know it probably won't happen but wow it sure is convenient that the game Amy debuted in was the one with the magic rocks that control spacetime...

(I also just like the idea that Stone is significantly more effective than Robotnik and when sufficiently motivated to work against Sonic and gang, he just... wins. Good thing for them then that he wasn't particularly interested in those time powers beyond using them for a Resurreggtion)

My thought process here was that this was only possible because Stone had the exact time and position of Eggman's death down to the millisecond thanks to the livestream, and he wouldn't have been able to do this without that information. So no bringing back Maria, sorry Shadow 😔

Does anyone remember that ONE Captain Underpants book where George and Harold messed with fucking time travel and met their future selves who were married with kids and had successful careers as comic book creators or was that a fever dream?

I like to imagine that in the canon universe the new Dog Man movie was initially drafted and submitted by George and Harold as a concept, thinking it wouldn’t be accepted but wanting to give it a shot anyways.

⬇️ This was the wildest thing ever to my 11 year old brain btw. So wild that I didn’t even register that Harold is canonically gay.

OK correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the main 'yin/yang' parallel with Atsushi and Akutagawa is not something like 'this one is bad but secretly has a good side and this one is good but secretly has a bad side'.

I feel like it's more about 'who they are at their core vs who they choose to be'.

At his core Akutagawa is kind and at his core Atsushi is not. But despite this Atsushi tries every day to make the kinder choices and I love him so much for it. He has to work so hard to be good.

He wants to be a bitch SO bad I know he does but he tries his best to help people and be nice (sometimes he fails but that's OK <3)

Atsushi doesn't always WANT to help people, a lot of the time he's selfish and scared, but he does help people anyway. He keeps helping people over and over again. There's still some selfish motivation to it, and his initial motivation for helping people was because the headmaster told him that's all he was worth, but overall he does care about the people he helps and it weighs on him if he fails to save them. And of course, as the series goes on he starts helping people more because he can rather than because he feels like he needs to.

In Akutagawa's case, he's still capable of being kind but his environment led him into being someone who chooses to hurt people. But he's always been a protector at heart. In the start he was bad compared to Atsushi because he was choosing to hurt people and keep the cycle of abuse going. Just like how Atsushi developed in why he saved people, Akutagawa starts to get redeemed when he chooses to not just act on his rage. Not only does he start to spare people, but he speaks more kindly to them (apologising to Higuchi and telling Kyouka he's proud of her). It all culminates into the moment he chooses to help Atsushi and sacrifice himself for him, going back to his core value of being a protector. Even when he's finally revived, he keeps this role in his new position as Aya's Knight.

I kind of see the streaks of white in Akutagawa and the streaks of black in Atsushi not as their 'hidden sides' but as their fundamental selfs. That's who they are at their core, and their main colours (black for Akutagawa and white for Atsushi) are how they're presented to everyone else and how they try to have people see them as.

i think what dog has against him is that he’s neither plot critical nor constantly present.

every character that gets talked about to hell and back is highly critical, G-Man js the effective driving force, Alyx is half of the reason you end up on the paths you do, Eli is steering things from where he can alongside Kliner, Barney is leading the resistance by the end and is helping you around through other means.

Likewise enemies like houndeyes from HL1 are just a constant presence, they’re always around, you become very familiar with them. same with every generic scientist, there’s a ton of them and they’re pretty memorable.

unfortunately Dog is none of these things, he’s basically just a minor helper who shows up sometimes that could easily be replaced by any other character with no issue. i think this is the reason you don’t hear about him, there’s just not much to say, which sucks cause he’s pretty good

i never hear anything about this dude. i played through Half-Life 2 for the first time earlier this year and that's the first i've ever heard of him; most of the other characters i'd absorbed over the years through internet culture osmosis - but this one? practically absent from any mainstream memes or SFM vids. absolutely blackholed. 19 years to seep into the collective consciousness the way Gordon et al did and nothing! i understand he's not very quotable but that's hard to consider as a factor when i've seen multiple HL1 houndeye memes. clearly a lot of work went into designing and rigging Dog; his movement is expressive and fluid, likely requiring a good amount of bespoke coding just for him; the folks at Valve probably patted each other on the back about it. he shows up in both episodes too. they probably truly believed in him. maybe they went: oh people are gonna love this guy, he's perfect as a mascot. yet two decades later, what is his legacy? is there any to speak of? does he even show up a single time throughout the entirety of skibidi toilet? i haven't watched those so i wouldn't know
