KNB Headcanon: Which Ones Would Own A Cat
-Akashi. I can see him end up adopting a cat because he feels it is a similar creature of nature to him.
-Kiyoshi. I see him adopting many sorts of pets, cats included.
-Midorima. That one guy who hates cats only to get a girlfriend who owns several cats. With time, they win him over but Midorima will continue to blame the cat parasite for brainwashing him.
-Kuroko. I see him owning several dogs and a cat or two in the future.
-Riko. She clearly does have a weakness for cute animals like any other but with the busy schedule she has I don't see her owning a pet that requires a lot of time to take care of like a dog. She can manage doing a litterbox and feeding a cat however in between her things to do. Her cat always rests next to her feet when she's working on her homework.
-Koganei and his sister did adopt a cat to troll people.
-Himuro. I just see him as a cat owner for some reason. Perhaps it's the emo 'I'd own a black cat' vibe he omits.
-Takao. I see him owning several cats and a golden retriever someday.
-Mibuchi. He definitely owns some purebreed.
-Imayoshi. I think he'd love them for their intelligence and graceful movements.
-Sakurai. He just wants a cat because he thinks they're cute.
-Moriyama. Owns a very lazy fat cat. He adopted a kitten because he thought that his female classmates would be interested in pictures as they're absolutely adorable to start a conversation with them. But time went on, and now it's a lazy bum.

[source][in the hallway outside Seirin’s room] Koganei: Okay, I brought a boatload of fish bones with me! Izuki: If you feed it that many, the cat will get a stomachache and have to paws for a catnap! That’s a great one! Koganei: Urgh… Alright, I’ll just give it a few. Riko: Anyway, I wonder why people start using baby talk when they speak to dogs and cats. Koganei: Like, “Is your wittle tummy all full~?” They sure do, don’t they? Riko: Yeah, like, “Isn’t that yummy~? Who’s a good wittle kitty~?” Kuroko: Kagami-kun, are you going to talk like that, too? Kagami: Why would I?! No chance in hell!! Besides, I’ve never seen anybody actually do that before. Riko: Because it’s different when you’re not in public. People use baby talk like that when nobody’s watching. We all know you do it, too, Kagami-kun. Kagami: I told you, I don’t! [in Seirin’s room] Riko: Let’s see. Hyuuga-kun is… Oh, there he is… And the cat’s there with him. [to Hyuuga] Hey, we all came to— Hyuuga: [to the cat] Yesh, little kitty~! Is your tummy rumbling~? Go on and eat ‘til your wittle tummy’s all full~! Is it yummy? Yesh, it’s so yummy—! Oh, goodness, you’re sooo cute! Yes, you are! Meooow! Riko: ………mission abort. [back in the dining hall] Riko: Repeat after me: We were here. The whole time. We saw nothing. Kagami: “We were here. The whole time.” Kuroko: “We saw nothing.” Riko: (This is for the best… It’s better this way!) [Hyuuga returns] Hyuuga: I’m back—! Man, cats are so cute, aren’t they? It wolfed down all the fish bones I took with me. Well, it is an animal, after all. All I did was give it a little handout. Nothing more, nothing less. Riko: Ah…ahahahaha! That’s right—! You were just having a little fun—! Kuroko: …that was a close call. If Hyuuga-senpai were to find out that we saw him… …we just very narrowly avoided losing the captain of the Seirin basketball team. Kagami: So people do change behind closed doors. Cats sure are scary…
kagami's is the funniest guy in the universe. either he genuinely thinks that it's because cats are so phenomenally adorable that even the hardest, most serious people could crumble under their gaze and resort to babying them (a solid possibility), or he's JOKING, and that's HILARIOUS to me omg. kagami's version of baby talk is probably just blushing, smiling, and saying "aw, that's pretty cute......" as well, like i don't think he's CAPABLE of talking about someone's wittle tummy

Send a Symbol for your muse to give mine a specific plushie / Accepting! / @featherchan
When Taiga opened the door to his apartment, he looked left and right to see if anyone was watching then he told Kanako to get inside. He had already noticed the cat plushie in her hands but he didn't want anyone to see him receiving it.
Kanako told him that the tiger cat plushie with red eyes reminded her of him.
"Thanks, I guess this little guy does kinda look like me!"
Koganei-senpai had a lookalike cat that was named Shinji #2 and Kuroko had a lookalike dog named Tetsuya #2. "He's gonna be Taiga #2!"
#featherchan#ch: Taiga#Canon#( Thank you for the ask! XD )#( There needs to be a feline look alike of him *stat* )

⁂ Don’t Be Nervous (Yukio Kasamatsu)
Genre: Fluff, Comedy, Romance ☁
Word Count: 2,087 ☁
Pairing: Reader x Kasamatsu ☁
World: Anime, Kuroko no Basket ☁
━━━━━━༻🌧️༺━━━━━━
Your eye twitched at the hand wrapped tightly around your wrist, narrowed eyes sliding up the toned arm to the culprit. “Why do you have to involve me?”
Kagami glanced over his shoulder. “Because you’re one of the scariest people I know.”
A sweatdrop appeared on the back of your head. “I never knew you had such a way with words. I’m surprised the girls aren’t falling over themselves to hear you speak!”
He scowled at the remark but chose to keep his mouth shut.
Silence fell as you made your way to the park. For what, you had no clue.
When you finally reached the destination, your eyes landed on a few familiar faces; Kise, who looked rather chipper. Kuroko, who wore the same blank expression as always. Koganei, who looked excited and ready to go. And Kasamatsu, who looked rather nervous.
Your gaze followed Koganei’s and you raised an eyebrow at the four girls standing off to the side. They were huddled together, whispering amongst themselves and glancing at the group of boys.
You yanked your arm free of Kagami’s grasp and glared at the red-head, ready to demand an explanation when you were glomped by a blonde blur, knocking you back a few paces.
“I’m glad you could make it! Now we can go!” His grip around your body disappeared and he hurried over to the girls, ushering them along. Koga followed happily with Kuroko at his side, while Kasamatsu kept his distance.
Kagami gripped your forearm in a gentle but firm hold, leaning down so he could whisper in your ear. “Kise is trying to find Kasamatsu a girlfriend, but he’s useless when it comes to girls.”
You bit back the smart remark that begged to be released. “Okay… so what up with the group?”
“Kise needed two more guys, and when he asked Kuroko, Koganei-senpai said he would do it. He ended up having to beg Kuroko before he would agree.” He scoffed, shoving his hands into his shorts. “Kuroko threatened me with that damn dog, so I had to come along.”
“And I’m here because…?”
“They were short one girl and I wasn’t about to get set up with some chick I didn’t know.”
“Lovely. I knew I should have ignored your call.”
He sent you an annoyed glare, but you weren’t entirely sure it was meant for you. “If I have to suffer, you can too!”
“You’re such a good friend, Taiga.”
“Shut up.”
“Come now. Is that any way to speak to your elder?”
“Shut up.”
━━━━━━༻🌧️༺━━━━━━
To say that the atmosphere was awkward would be the world’s greatest understatement. The only ones talking were Koga and Kise, along with their dates. Honestly, you were fine with Kagami not talking to you but the silence was a bit killer, especially with the aura Kagami and Kasamatsu were giving off.
You rested your elbow on your crossed legs and plopped your cheek into your palm, playing with your shoelace to pass the time which only seemed to drag by. God, you wish Kise would pull the plug already. His little plan obviously wasn’t working. Even when his date said something to him, all Kasamatsu would do was nod. He wouldn’t even look at her!
Your cell phone buzzed in your pocket and you shared a glance with Kagami before fishing it out and flipping it open. Why in the world was Kise texting you when you were in the SAME room?
[Why are you sitting on the floor?]
You held in a snort. [Because I refuse to sit next to some girl I don’t know.]
[Participate, please? :(]
You glanced up and caught Kise’s frown. No matter how tough you liked to believe yourself to be, that look was not something you could easily look over. You sighed before getting up off the floor, only to plop onto Kagami’s lap.
He grunted at the added weight, “What the hell are you doing?!”
“Shut up.” You muttered before forcing a smile as you addressed the girls. “So! What do you gals do for fun, hmm?”
“Shopping!” They giggled in unison.
You hung your head in disbelief, the corner of your lips twitching, ‘I can’t work with this, Kise!’
“U-Umm…”
Blinking, you looked up at the girl sitting across from Kasamatsu. She was a small thing, probably Kuroko’s height, with hair as green as Midorima’s and eyes like emeralds. Thick rimmed glasses were positioned on her face, helping to hold back her bangs that had fallen from the braids’ grip. She fidgeted nervously but managed to meet my eyes with confidence in her voice.
“I-I’m on the debate team at school.”
Your eyes lit up and you leaned forward. Hope! There was hope after all! “That’s cool, right, Yukio?”
He jumped when you nudged him in the side, his face turning a bright red as his hands tightened around his slacks. “Y-Yeah…”
You twitched again. That fool had no idea what he even agreed with! Kagami sniggered, probably at your irritation, and tried to cover it up with a few coughs. A swift nudge to the ribs had him coughing for real.
“What’s taking that idiot waiter so long?” The blonde sitting across from Kise whined, crossing her legs and causing her skirt to ride up her leg. She ended up flashing Kise, but she didn’t seem to care. She wasn’t the type to care. “I’m hungry, Ryo-kun!”
“I’ll go check and see what the hold up is!” You jumped up, a little too eager, ignoring Kise’s sharp look. Seeing how miserable he looked, you figured you’d spare poor Yukio, as well. “Give me a hand?”
His blue eyes snapped up to meet yours as if to make sure you were speaking to him. You held your hand out in confirmation, figuring he might need some help un-sticking himself from between Kagami and Kuroko. He seemed to hesitate, swallowing hard before slipping his sweaty hand into your own. It proved just how nervous and uncomfortable he really was.
You pulled him up with ease, not bothering to spare the others a glance before you turned and left the room, pulling the younger boy along behind you. Only when you were a safe distance away did you release his hand.
“Sorry if you wanted to stay. Just seemed like you were pretty uncomfortable.”
“Ye-Yeah. Thank you.”
You glanced at him curiously. “You really didn’t wanna do this, did you?”
“I don’t have time for gi-girls.”
You chuckled at his response and he glared at you, unamused.
“What’s so funny about that?”
“You’re only saying that because you don’t know how to handle them. That’s why Kise was trying so hard to help you.”
He didn’t respond, instead turning his head away. Guess you pissed him off.
“Well, what do I know?” You laughed, rubbing the back of your head sheepishly. “I don’t know you well enough to say either way. I was just going by what I’ve heard from Kise.”
“It’s not my fa-fault I can’t talk to girls.” He muttered in a soft voice. You almost didn’t hear him.
“You’re talking to me, aren’t you?”
“That doesn’t count!”
“How so?” You raised a brow curiously.
“You’re different. It’s not like I’m ta-talking to a girl when I talk to you!”
Did he just call you a guy? You think he did. This kid was about as useless as Kagami… Kise wasn’t kidding!
“I-I mean…” He stumbled over his words, eyes wide and face bright red. His mouth opened and closed as he tried to form words, but none came.
You laughed again, waving him off. “Don’t worry about it. I know I’m not the girliest thing out there. I’m one of the guys, and it’s easy to forget that I’m female.”
“I’m sorry.”
“I’m not so easily hurt, so relax.” You hadn’t realized he had stopped walking until you glanced over and found the spot next to you vacant. Before you had the chance to turn around, arms wrapped around your body from behind, pinning your arms to your side. The embrace was awkward and you could feel just how tense his body was. It was actually pretty surprising, considering how good looking he is.
You tapped his arm curiously after a minute of silence. “What are you doing, Yukio?”
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like it came out. I just…”
“I said it’s fine.” You laughed, patting his arm again. You expected his grip to disappear, or at least loosen up a bit, but he tightened it instead.
“The truth is… I always get nerv-nervous around you. I never know what to say or do, and I always get jealous when I see how easy it is for Kise to ta-talk to you. I just wanna smack him!”
“You should. Holding in your anger is bad for your health, ya know.” You were dead serious, too. You love Kise, but he could get on your nerves sometimes. He needed some tough love, especially after tonight’s little escapade. “Your problem is that you think too much.”
You pried his arms off, turning around to meet his confused gaze. His cheeks were alight with red and something burned in the depths of his blue eyes, but you couldn’t make out what it was.
“You think too much about what to do and what to say, and you end up psyching yourself out. Don’t think so much. Be impulsive and just say or do whatever comes to mind. You can think about it later on.”
He looked down at the floor, seeming to think about what you told him. When he looked up again, there was a fire burning in his eyes. You didn’t move as he reached forward, grabbing your shoulders firmly and pulling you into his body. His lips crashed onto your own, his hand sliding to the back of your neck to keep you in place. Your body was thrown into shock… you couldn’t move a muscle! Was Kasamatsu Yukio really kissing you? It seemed like a dream.
After a few seconds, he pulled away enough to create a few inches between your lips. Having him so close, you realized just how good looking this boy really was. With his spiked black hair and intense blue eyes, his strong features and his well-defined brow. He was almost god-like in looks. Kind of like Kise, but more masculine and rough.
You still hadn’t moved and he took that as a bad sign because he began to pull away. It was then that you realized what needed to be done.
Your hand grabbed the back of his neck to stop him in his tracks, fingers sliding through his silky hair. His eyes widened in surprise before your lips collided again, this time with more passion and want. The grip around your waist tightened as your lips moved in perfect synch.
The kiss began to heat up as he pushed you against the wall, his muscled body making you groan in satisfaction as it molded against your own. You guess the sound snapped him out of whatever trance he had been in because he jumped away from, eyes wide like saucers and his hand covering his mouth.
You licked your lips to get another taste of him, chest heaving up and down as you attempted to slow your rapidly beating heart.
The passionate air that you had just been bathed in slowly started to fade away, making way for an air of awkwardness that you weren’t quite sure how you could break. You didn’t know how he felt, so you didn’t know what step you should take next. For all you knew, he could have been just using you for practice.
“I’m s – ”
“Don’t say it.” You scowled, rubbing the back of your head. “There’s nothing to apologize for.”
“You didn’t pull away.”
“Did you want me to?”
“No,”
Surprised by the answer, your eyes met his. The shock had faded and there was determination burning in his depths. A couple steps were all it took before he was directly in front of you, his lips hovering over your own once again.
“I still feel… nervous around you.”
You grinned, throwing your arms around his neck. “Hmm, we’ll just have to keep practicing until you’re not nervous anymore.”
“What about Kise?” He breathed out.
“Who cares. He’ll find out eventually.” You muttered, capturing his soft lips.
This time, you didn’t let him get away.

*rises from the grave with a groan* I am...alive??? for ilovetaigakun over on twitter
“Absolutely not!”
Kuroko, aside from the small wrinkle between his eyebrows, looked mostly unaffected by Kagami’s outburst.
But since this was Kuroko it meant that he was strongly affected. Probably.
“Kagami-kun is dodging responsibility. That is very disappointing.”
“I am not?” Kagami protested. “That’s your dog not mine.” He pointed out.
“Nigou is Seirin’s dog, and that means he is also your dog Kagami-kun. At least for as long as you are a member of the team. Which means,” He pauses and pressed the sponge, towel and dog shampoo in Kagami’s hands. “He is also your responsibility.”
“No he is not.” Kagami wasn’t about to lose that argument. God knew he already lost almost every one when it came to his smaller partner. He was adamant to put his foot down when it came to this.
Kuroko opened his mouth to protest but Kagami was faster.
“You carry him around in your bag, you feed him, buy him toys.” He counted. “For Christ’s sake he lived at your house!”
Kuroko frown deepened. He was losing his footing, Kagami noted with satisfaction.
“He’s the team’s mascot.” Kuroko pressed. “The whole team volunteers to take care of him on the weekends. Koganei-senpai named him and we have a jar in the club room for spare change to buy him toys.” Kuroko recited calmly.
And then his frown cleared and a small smirk bloomed on his face.
“And he has a dog bed at your apartment. With a very cute print.”
Kagami made a face, his cheeks coloring slightly.
“I only got it 'cuz you wouldn’t stop bitching about Nigou not having a bed and he kept stealing my couch cushions. Kagami blistered while Kuroko rolled his eyes.
“Hey don’t give me that! Do you know what a bitch it is to clean them from dog fur?”
Kuroko sighed. He was silent for a while before he nodded to himself.
“Very well.”
“What?”
“Nigou!” Kuroko called softly and the small dog barked from somewhere where he was playing behind the school before trotted obediently to his master.
“Let’s go give you a bath.” He bent down to give his pet a scratch behind the ear.
Kuroko retreated with the Seirin mascot, all while effectively ignoring Kagami.
Taiga watched after them for maybe a few minutes before he cursed under his breath and with a few strides of his long legs caught up with both of them right when Kuroko was telling Nigou to sit down and he was opening the garden hose.
“Give me that.” Kagami grumbled and snatched the hose from Kuroko’s hands.
The boy didn’t protest, nor did he say anything, but Kagami saw a sliver of a smile which was smug and self satisfied.
Kagami contemplated opening the hose on Kuroko and wiping it off of his face but he wasn’t really in the mood for his retaliation so he crouched and opened the water to gently spray on Nigou while Kuroko massaged the shampoo into his fur.
It didn’t matter much since ten minutes later he was dripping wet anyway.
Apparently even if Kuroko ‘forgave’ him for whatever Nigou still needed to enforce his own punishment.
This time he didn’t hesitate to open the hose on Kuroko when he, very poorly, tried to conceal his laughter.
Needless to say his surprised yelp at the cold water was very satisfying indeed.

Hello! I'm from Hong Kong, honored to be acquainted with you and I am very fond of CCS and Clamp. You too? I keep track of your Tumblr and your posts are great?I also enjoyed the CCS Seiyuu! And I'm also very curious about Kumai-san and Tange-san, would you tell me about them? Thank you for ask! :3
Hello, I’m the one honored for you keeping track of my tumblr blog!! ^_^ I LOVE CCS and CLAMP , as it’s pretty easy to understand from my never-ending babbling hahaha!
Well, what can I say about Kumai-san and Tange-san, let me see…
Sakura Tange was born in the prefecture of Aichi in 1973, her birthday is on March 24th! She’s a pretty popular voice actress and of course her most prominent role was (and still is) the one of Sakura Kinomoto in Cardcaptor Sakura.Going by director Morio Asaka’s words, Sakura Tange was chosen for the “addictive quality” to her voice, something that made Sakura Kinomoto’s voice unique and loved even today, and Sakura Tange herself said that she paid a lot of attention to not high-pitch her voice too much even if she was voicing such a young child.Sakura Tange is currently reading the Clear Card manga when the volumes come out (She doesn’t buy the Nakayoshi magazine, a thing Minori Suzuki -Akiho’s VA- is actually doing instead).Sakura Tange voiced also other popular anime characters, such as Suzu Sakuma in Marmelade Boy, MAICO in Android Ana Maico 2010, Lulu Takigawa in Duel Masters, and maybe the role that is giving her the most popularity alongside that of Sakura, that is Saber in Fate/Extra Last Encore. She took a period of hiatus from the voice acting world almost immediately after leaving the CCS world in 2000 to focus on the singing career, and went back to be a voice actress in late 2009!Tange-san lives with a pretty dog named Suzu-chan and hosts a digital radio show on A&G+ every Sunday!
Motoko Kumai, born on September 8th 1970 in Tokyo, is another popular voice actress. Her roles include mainly male characters, usually very young (younger than teenagers) and for this reason is often commented as being “a cute lady with the heart of a boy”. Her most popular character is without any doubt Syaoran Li from Cardcaptor Sakura, but she also voiced other popular characters such as Takao Kinomiya from Beyblade, Goro Honda from Major, Sumomo from Chobits, Gon from Gon, Kaoru Koganei from Flame of Recca, Nataku from X and lately is the voice of Kocchi in Koneko no Chi and Gelatoni, a cute cat character from Tokyo DisneySea!Motoko Kumai is usually surprised when she’s told that she and Syaoran are very much alike, personality-wise, but she’s actually very attached to him. She understands his psychology perfectly, and she always puts a lot of effort in trying to portray that. Her tweets on her Twitter account are always a blessing for the fandom! Her hobbies include motorcycles (she LOVES them), she’s got a degree that allows her to teach English in high school (hence her perfect English in Clear Card anime) and she can play the piano!

Since it's national dog day (8/27) can you PLEASE do a scenario where the Seirin members celebrate the day by throwing a huge party for Nigou
(Sorry this is so late -.-’ but let’s be honest…everyday is dog and cat day.)
From the day they found the pup, all the members of Seirin considered Nigou a part of the family. Even Kagami secretly enjoyed the small dogs presence, after a few months of adjustment. So, when the day to celebrate all dogs arrived, the team unanimously decided to throw a fun party for their team mascot.
The jobs were sectioned off fairly to ensure everyone had a hand in the preparations. Furihata, Kawahara, and Fukuda are in charge of buying the supplies. Mitobe and Kagami are in charge of making the food. Koganei, Tsuchida, Izuki, and Hyuga are tasked with decorating the gym. Which left Kuroko and Kiyoshi to distract the small dog. Not that hard, but the two want to make today the best day ever. Riko compiled a short list of dog friendly activities for the two which she gave the iron heart for safe keeping. “First place first, the dog park, I wonder if people will be out today?”
“Probably,” Kuroko walks with the puppy on his head, the small dog shaking his tail with delight. The park isn’t far from the street-ball courts, making the sight of a familiar aho an expected one. “Aomine-kun, good morning.” The tan player misses his shot at the sudden voice.
“Tetsu? What are you doing here?” Nigou squirms until number one puts him on the ground. The pup going straight to the basketball to play with it.
“Dog park, it’s national dog day.”
“That’s a thing?” Aomine picks the dog up with a small grin.
“Yep, after the park we are going to the pet store, then back to the school for some fun.” Kiyoshi smiles his signature, bright, smile at the rival school ace.
“Would you like to join us?” Kuroko takes his pupper back, Aomine seriously considering the invitation.
“Eh, why not? Gets me out of shopping with Satsuki.” He grabs the stray ball and throws it into his bag. The three entering the busy dog park to find dozens of dogs running around.
“Have fun Nigou, be back in an hour.” With a cute bark, the small pup runs to mingle with the other dogs. While Kuroko monitors his dog and Aomine relaxes on the grass, Teppei rings up Riko for an update on the party.
“The preparations are going pretty smooth, Kagami put the cakes in the oven, and the first years just came back with all the decorations. We are about to start on the gym.” She is extra chipper as she watches the others hang up streamers.
“Good, we picked up another guest for the party, is that fine?” She purses her lips in thought before asking the cheery guy.
“Who?”
“Aomine.” She nearly breaks her pencil, of all people, they invite a rival?
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, he didn’t have anything to do and Nigou likes him.” The coach sighs in defeat.
“Fine, but you are in charge if Bakagami gets into a fight with him.” She hangs up to help the others. Time flies by until Riko gives the signal for the trio to come back. Nigou wearing himself out a bit from the park, a squeaky toy basketball in his mouth as he chills on Aomine’s head. He perks up the closer they get to the gym. The doors opening to reveal the rest of the team as they yell surprise. His tail wags a mile a minute as his paws hit the floor. He dashes straight for the food bowl full of dog friendly food. Everyone partaking in the feast prepared by their teammates. Everyone pitched in for the small stack of gifts, most are toys and little shirts for him to wear around the gym. The look on Nigou’s face as he runs around their feet an absolute joy to everyone. The party goes on for hours, everyone enjoying the jovial atmosphere and the day off from training. By the end of the party, Nigou is passed out in Kuroko’s lap.
“I would like to dub this party as a success!” Riko announces, everyone clapping at their job well done. “Now, for the part nobody likes…clean up.” The room goes silent, the doors to leave opening as Aomine tries to slip away. Riko grabs him by the ear and drags him back into the room.
“Ahomine and Teppei you’re on clean up crew!” The two groan, unable to get out of this one. Kuroko smiling softly at the fluffy pup in his lap. “Kuroko help too!”
“Eh?”

Last Game Novel English Translation (Ch 1 Part 1-Invasion)
As requested I began translating the Last Game novel! Things to keep in mind are this follows the movie storyline (not the manga, it is indeed a bit different), and there are INDEED SPOILERS. So only proceed if you want to be spoiled. I’m planning to split each chapter into two parts (8 chapters=16 parts total)
Prologue Translation
The five unparalleled geniuses, the “Generation of Miracles.” And the one the five of them acknowledged, the “Phantom Sixth Man.” And then he appeared before them, as if it was fate that they were all gathered in the same generation. Kagami Taiga. The one that was the same as the Generation of Miracles, but didn’t become one of the Generation of Miracles. He held the same gift as the geniuses and the last one to awaken-“The Miracle that didn’t become a Miracle.” He met his fated Shadow, and became a true light. The Light fought his rivals and increased his brightness, and finally led his team to win the Winter Cup and become the number one team in Japan.
And now,
The Light and Shadow arrive at a new stage.
Click the ‘read more’ to continue to the first half of Chapter 1!
* I revised some of the sentences a bit to give a better visual to match the scenes in the movie.
Ch 1-Invasion
Kagami Taiga returned to Japan during summer of his second year in middle school.
“I’m Kagami Taiga. I came from America. I played basketball over there! My dream in the future is to be an NBA player! Nice to meet you everyone!” Kagami greeted loudly to his classmates on his first day of his transfer.
“When you make friends, appeal is important. Such as what you like and what you’re good at. You gotta let people know you’re this kind of person.”
That was the inviolable rule his first friend in America, Himuro Tatsuya, taught him. Kagami looked up to him like a brother, and thanks to his advice he became completely absorbed in basketball, and at the same time he made more friends. That’s why even if he’s in a new environment, he said his introduction that way hoping that he can make friends in the same way.
However, his classmates’ reactions were not what he was expecting.
His self-introduction only caused a stir among his classmates, and he didn’t feel the distance between them grow closer at all. Instead, for some reason he could feel them giving him strange looks. In his head Kagami was trying to figure out why, but he thought that the beginning was something like this so he let it go.
But soon after, Kagami would understand the meaning behind those strange looks.
After transferring, Kagami of course joined the basketball club, and participated in practice.During the mini-game, Kagami showed off his amazing skills. He easily got past the defense standing in his way and finished it with a one-handed dunk.
“Who is that?! He did a dunk!”
“He’s the guy who came back from America.”
The play that was beyond middle school level had caused a commotion among his clubmates as Kagami let go of the hoop ring and landed on the floor letting out a light huff.
“Sorry, you okay?” He extended his hand to a student who had fallen on his butt. When Kagami dunked, the student who was defending him lost and got knocked down with his momentum.
The student looked at Kagami’s extended hand, and gave him a sharp glare in return.
Kagami thought to himself that it wasn’t the first time he saw that look given to him. Faintly recalling his memories, he finally remembered the guy as “one of the students in my class.”
“Ahh….this is really demotivating,” said the student.
“Eh…..?” Kagami’s eyes widened. He couldn’t comprehend what the guy was saying so suddenly. Ignoring the shocked Kagami, the student stood up on his own and was indeed scowling at him.
“ Your face just now totally looked like you were thinking ‘Compared to American basketball, basketball here is super boring…’ right?” Kagami hastily shook his head, “N-no I wasn’t thinking that…”
The student interrupted him. “It’s fine. There’s no way you wouldn’t be thinking that,” he coldly replied.
As if rejecting Kagami, the student ran off ahead. Looking at the student’s back as he left, Kagami finally understood. He also understood the meaning behind the “strange” looks in class. The reason why he recognized his clubmate’s glare at him, was because it was the same glare given to him in class. Actually now that he thought about it, the looks he received were all cold and rejecting, as if he was an annoyance. Even if he made a play with someone with a different opinion, it wasn’t fun. That much was clear.
“What the heck is that….” Kagami felt the gloominess inside him grew.
This “gloominess” continued to grow with each passing day.The exclusion from the basketball club spread to the classroom until he was completely isolated, and the swelling inside him grew even more.
With no one to talk to, let alone anyone to play basketball with, Kagami’s heart hardened. Alone in his middle school life. His mumblings to himself was bitter as always.
“It’s super boring…..someone do something about it please…”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Three years has passed since then.
Kagami was now a second year in high school, walking and swaying in the heat waves on his way to school.
“Haaaaaaaa, it’s soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot. What’s with this heat.....” he groans annoyingly. “………also……why are you walking behind me?!” Kagami swiftly turned around and standing right behind him was Kuroko Tetsuya who as always nonchalantly replied.
“Good morning, Kagami-kun. More importantly…”
“?”
“It’s hot so please stand up properly.”
“Don’t use people as shade!!”
As if responding to Kagami’s pressing complaints, a pair of pointed black ears popped out of the bag slung on Kuroko’s shoulder.
“Arf!”
“Wah!! Nigou was here too?!”
Kagami quickly backed up. In front of him with its face sticking out of the bag was a puppy with round and cute eyes. It was Seirin High School Basketball Club’s dog mascot, Tetsuya Nigou.
“It’s my turn to look after him this week,” Kuroko explained immediately to Kagami who looked like he was about to ask, “Why is he here?!” Then he gave Nigou a rub on the head who let out a cute whine.Kagami pouted back at him. Even now he still doesn’t see Nigou as “cute.”
At that moment, Kagmai’s smartphone suddenly rang.
“Oh?” Kagami took his phone out of his pocket and looked at the screen with his eyebrows raised. The caller displayed was his basketball mentor who was currently in America.
“It’s Alex…… Hello?” Kagami switched to talk on the phone, but before long, his face color changed. “Eh?.....America?”
Kagami stopped and stood on the sidewalk anxiously, as Kuroko stared and watched next to him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The one named Alex, whose full name is Alexandra Garcia, hung up her phone and smiled at the man sitting in front of her.
“I told him your request, but I’m not sure what he’ll say.” “I see…..” the man sighed, mixed with anticipation and dejection. Then he stood up and walked around the room. The meeting room was usually used for briefings or scouting and filled with people, but right now it was just Alex and the man.
“Before I saw the video, I was half in doubt….But I was surprised, that a player like that was in Japan,” the man said with excitement in his voice as he still remembered the video Alex showed him of the matches in Japan.
Alex let out a small smile, but it wasn’t because she was happy at his response. His reaction was just as she had expected. Even for her old self, she once thought that Japanese matches were mere child’s play.
However, the moment she saw her favorite pupil’s match in person, her mentality made a 180 degree turn. That ability alone is what made young players in Japan so fascinating. Even a scout man who’s seen players win the all-American tournament couldn’t ignore it. There was no way. Alex had confidence in that.
Finally the man stopped and turned to look at her. “Can I look forward to a positive response?” he asked her.
Alex only lightly shrugged her shoulders. Even she herself wasn’t sure. The one to decide was him after all. However, there was one thing she did know. She says with a kind face resembling that of a mother’s, “I can assure you that he loves basketball more than anything.”
(T/N The translation for the conversation between Alex and the scout is pretty much what they said in English during the movie. Though for the scout his Engrish was a bit hard to understand but this is what he was pretty much saying.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After school, Kagami and Kuroko finally arrive at the audiovisual room where the Seirin basketball members were already sitting and lined up.
“You’re late Kagami!” Izuki Shun frowned and scolded him much like a vice-captain should.
“You’re the one who said you wanted to watch this!....” Koganei Shinji also looked like he was sick of waiting and urged him to hurry.
“I’m sorry…..deeply!” Kagami quickly bowed his head. (T/N Apparently they didn’t notice Kuroko was with him…or they just only scolded Kagami. Also Kagami was using his awkward polite-talk here)
“It’s okay just hurry up and sit down,” said Tsuchida Satoshi in a kind voice.
“Okay!” Kagami answered obediently, and he and Kuroko sat in two open chairs.
As if it was waiting for Kagami and Kuroko to sit down, cheers started playing on the TV installed on the teacher’s desk.
“Oh, it’s starting,” said Izuki. All of the team members shifted their focus to the TV.
In order to watch THIS today, they stopped practice and gathered in the audiovisual room instead. What was on the TV was an outdoor street basketball court. A female announcer smiled and started talking with the court seen behind her filled to the brim with spectators.
“It’ll finally begin now. The street basketball super exhibition match! Please take a look. The audience is overflowing with excitement! It’s no wonder because team playing today is that super team! America’s…no, the world’s most overwhelming street basketball team, Jabberwocks!
The screen switched to show the recording of them arriving at the airport. Tons of reporters surrounded the robust men as they came out of the arrival gates. Jabberwock’s five members, including their leader, were not only young around the age of 18, but also possessed superb strength that could bewitch the audience and on par with NBA players. They walked through the aisle of continuous camera flashes, showing off their overpowering presence.
Displaying their ferocious and muscular bodies and their stares looking down at the reporters, their absolute confidence was enough to reach those watching on the television screen.
Finally, the cameras showed the last man to come out of the gate. A complete change from the other four who walked in front of him, he had somewhat of a vibe of a gentleman. He was Jabberwock’s leader.
After showing his slight mysterious face, the screen reverted back to the current livestream of the street basketball court. The cheering still continued as they waited impatiently for the arrival of Jabberwocks.
“Everyone! Sorry to keep you waiting!” yelled the MC into the microphone he held in one hand as if he was waiting for his moment to come. “The amazing basketball team Jabberwocks exhibition match will soon start!”
The venue excitement reached its climax that it even reached to Kuroko and the others watching on television.
“Being able to watch authentic street basketball is pretty exciting isn’t it?” Kuroko commented to Kagami next to him.
“Yeah!” Kagami responded excitedly without tearing his eyes away from the TV.
Also looking at the TV screen, Izuki let out a chuckle. “I wonder if things are going well for those two….”
“I wonder,” smiled Tsuchida.
“Those two” was referring to Aida Riko and Hyuuga Junpei. Riko’s father, Aida Kagetora, who was Jabberwocks’ interpreter and guide, managed to get two viewing tickets which were supposedly hard to obtain. It was thanks to him that those two were at the venue right now. When Riko got the tickets, she asked the team who wanted to go with her. But, everyone decided to help a certain fellow out (they already couldn’t stand his incompetence anyway) and as a result it was decided that Hyuuga and Riko would go.
“Go for it, Hyuuga….Clutch Shoot her heart!” Koganei enthusiastically sent his thoughts towards the TV even though Hyuuga wasn’t on it.
“ACHOO!!”
Whether or not Koganei’s message reached him, Hyuuga let out a huge sneeze.
“Woah are you okay?” Riko asked Hyuuga as he rubbed his nose.
“Y-yeah…”
At that moment the MC’s voice resounded throughout the venue.
“To start us off, introducing Japan’s special team! Team STRKY!!”
Joined along with loud cheers, 5 young men appeared at the edge of the court.
“Oh, here they come. But to really think that those guys would form up together….” Hyuuga remarked. The players that Hyuuga and Riko looked down upon, were faces they knew too well.
Number 4, Imayoshi Shouichi (from Touou Gakuen High School)
Number 5, Higuchi Shouta (from Rakuzan High School)
Number 6, Miyaji Kiyoshi (from Shuutoku High School)
Number 7, Kasamatsu Yukio (from Kaijo High School)
Number 8, Okamura Kenichi (from Yosen High School)
They were all players from the power house schools they once fought against.
To be continued…

I would like to request a match-up for haikyuu, attack on titan and Kuroko no basket. I am a short female (5"3 to be exact) I have brown hair with blonde tips. I have hazel eyes and blue framed glasses (not the best eye-sight). I can be hotheaded at times, but very sweet and calm. I love dogs and enjoy their company. I love to read, and I love to write. I love to watch anime and enjoy sometime relaxing with my friends. I also enjoy playing volleyball and basket ball. Thank you!!☺️
Thanks for the request! I hope you’ll like your matches C:
Your matches are…:
Both the boys and girls’ volleyball teams interact frequently, so you know most of the boys by their names. Ennoshita doesn’t stand out to you at all in the beginning because of his mediocrity and inability to be vocal, but he’s there every practice and he greets you every time he sees you. There isn’t much you know about him, other than the fact Daichi is planning on making him the next captain, and he never does anything worth noting. Your presence, on the other hand, is what draws him to you.
It isn’t a secret that he uses anyone he knows for his mini film projects. He asks you to be the main protagonist for one of his films one day, and upon him asking, you ask him for the script. His writing is slightly better than mediocre, but the plot is still something generic, and you help him write a new one without changing the entire premise. He’s grateful for the revisions and he asks you to help him edit his other works in progress. This takes up a lot of time, but it’s time worth spending.
When either of you aren’t practicing volleyball or working on movie scripts, you’re often inside watching films or anime. Ennoshita is a critic and he often has something to say about every show you watch. He isn’t overly harsh so that it’d ruin the whole experience, but it does help put things in a different light. Whenever your hotheadedness becomes the reason why you want to do something stupid, Ennoshita goes along with the ride, only interfering when it becomes something you’d regret. Most days, the two of you are inside chilling, just taking a rest day from life.
Ennoshita isn’t subtle with his emotions and he’s frank when it comes to serious things like love. He’s first to confess and ask you if you’d be interested in becoming something more than friends. Whatever your answer may be, he will wait for you until the day you are ready to accept him.
Shingeki no Kyojin - Armin Arlert
Being a hothead doesn’t matter much to Armin since he’s always surrounded by reckless and irrational people. His warnings often go unheard of but you’re with him most of the time, and you back him up whenever needed. Sometimes, you’re with the other reckless and irrational people and Armin has no other choice but to hang his head and hope no one gets hurt. You are often together as you compliment one another - you keep him calm under times of stress and you often encourage him to take risks with his tactics. He can be too kind at times, thus making him the greatest gentleman out of the bunch.
You’re often recommending him books and vice versa. The two of you often get into debates over the plots of some of your recommended novels and a lot of his suggestions are strategy texts or philosophy. Armin is always free to edit anything you write, so long you’re willing to share them with him. Whenever you two have time to yourselves, he’s always at your place to watch anime, either just the two of you, or the entire squad. There’s also never a day when you don’t play a game of basketball or volleyball with them. Armin often sits out since he’s terrible at sports, but when he does choose to play, he often makes strategies that always lead to victory. After a while, he got banned from playing to keep everything fair.
Armin is terrible at conveying his feelings, but he isn’t afraid to confront them. He never leaves a question unanswered so he’ll ask you upfront about your feelings for him. No matter what the answer, he’ll be willing to be whatever you consider him in order to stay with you for however long possible.
KoganeiShinji (Kuroko no Basuke): A rather chill and fun loving guy, Koganeihas no trouble with making new friends and given how he can also be quitetalkative, awkward silence isn’t exactly a worry. Upon meeting you for thefirst time, he’ll happily introduce himself, especially if you’re a friend or acquaintanceof someone he’s friends with, and start chatting with you, mainly asking youabout your classes and what you think about random things. Whenever he sees youaround, he’ll be quick to call out a greeting to you and if neither of you arein a hurry to get somewhere or busy with something, he’ll stop to talk with youabout anything and everything. Before too long, he’ll come to think of you as areally good friend.
It’s no secret to his teammates that Koganei thinks you’recute, though he’s a bit shyer when it comes to telling you that directly. Theremight be some times where he slips up though, and lets you know that he findsyou looking quite adorable with your glasses. The first few times, he’ll get embarrassedand try to elaborate if you merely stare at him but after a few of theseinstances happening, he’ll just smile at you and laugh after complimenting you, though it’s clear if you look at him that he’ll be blushing. Koganei certainlylikes the fact that you’re shorter than him and will look forward to anyopportunity that arises where he can utilize his own height to help you out.
Koganei has tried many different sports before stickingwith basketball so he’ll be more than happy to play sports with you, especiallybasketball and he’s certainly willing to give volleyball a try too though you’llhave to teach him how to play that first since that’s a sport he hadn’t dabbledin before. He just wants to hang out with you so most of the time, he’ll befine with doing whatever you want. Anime might not have been something hewatches much of but he wouldn’t mind watching a few episodes with you. Relaxingwith you is always a good time for him. Koganei isnt a big fan of sittingstill so reading is not something he’s fond of but if you’d rather read a bookor do some writing then he’ll leave you alone to do so, at least for a whilebefore he gets bored and wants your company. This might get annoying for you, especially if you’re at a really good part in your book, and you’ll have totalk to him to get him to give you some time to yourself. Your hotheadednessmight catch Koganei off guard at first since it might not be a side of you hesees often, but considering the range of personalities of his teammates, it won’tbe something he won’t be able to adapt to and learn to deal with. Eventually,he’ll learn to adore you overall.

Title: A Different Setting Fandom: Shokugeki no Soma Category: Genderswap, AU Ship (if any): Doujima Gin x Saiba Jouichiro Summary: Having two fathers was nothing to fifteen year-old Yukihira Soma. For one thing, it seems that she was at an advantage for it. Her biological father, Yukihira Joichiro, runs a diner with her as his assistant, and her other father, Dojima Gin, is a chef at a resort, so it only goes to show that the girl of fifteen would be so dedicated to cooking, that she would make a living out of it.
Main Idea: While I was in the middle of writing Fem Soma Oneshots in ff.net, I got this inspiration and imagined Soma being raised by both Jouichiro and Gin as their own, with Soma taking up the last name of Yukihira. She still remains oblivious of what their reputations are at this point.
“I have to say, Soma-chan is pretty skilled at cooking. I’ve been hearing from Kurase-san that no one could beat her in Home Economics classes,” Tomita commented at the counter table where Joichiro was working.
The man laughed delighted at the compliments towards his daughter, “Yeah, if only she’d be more ladylike, then I could rest easy. But that’s not the case.” He mused. “She’s a bit brazen, but a good kid, nonetheless. Gin and I will never let her get married unless the boy can match up to us,”
Tomita laughed, “That’s a tall order, Yukihira-san,” Tomita said, “The boy will have to prepare himself for the sake of your approvals,”
Joichiro sniggered, “Well, Soma’s own standards will prevent her from choosing a wimp anyways, and I’d like a challenge other than her and her other father once in a while,”
As the two talked a bit more while he was cooking, Soma came rushing down to the restaurant from their house door with a gleeful smile. “Dad! Father’s on the phone~!” she said while holding up a cute stuffed polar bear with a diamond studded bracelet on its wrist, with a tag that says, ‘For Soma-chan, From Kuma-san~’
“Where did you get that?” Joichiro wondered.
“Just now. The delivery guy brought it through the back entrance. I just opened the package after Father called. He wants to talk to you,”
With a sigh, Joichiro nodded. “Alright. Place the polar bear somewhere and take over for me for a while,” he ordered as he went to the back of the shop where the door to the second floor stairs, which is their house, was at.
With a nod, Soma placed the polar bear back in the box where she got it and went on to take over for her father for a few minutes while he talks to her other father.
Tomite smiled, “Soma-chan, your other father is rarely home, isn’t he?”
Soma nodded. “He’s home a few days a month, but he never forgets to send a letter and a gift in every occasion where he can’t make it. On our birthdays, he makes it a point to come home right away. He’s quite dutiful when it comes to traditional occasions too~” she said with a smile. “He works at a resort as a cook, so he can only take days off during lean season of the resort he works at, but still, he’s the best,” she praised.
“That’s right, the yukata that you wore at the last festival was from him, wasn’t it?” Tomite asked, remembering the expensive yukata that was sent to his place by mistake, and had sent it to the Yukihira residence soon after. “You have good parents, Soma-chan,”
Soma nodded. “Yup! I couldn’t be any luckier~!”
“Seriously, a stuffed polar bear with a diamond studded bracelet attached to it for her? You spoil Soma too much, Gin,” Joichiro chided. Despite the brazen attitude of his daughter, she still has a girly side, namely, adoring cute things. “This defeats the purpose of raising her normally.”
Dojima Gin chuckled at the other line, “You’re one to talk. I don’t think having four hundred and eighty-eight cooking matches and concocting ridiculous and gross experimental dishes are considered normal,”
“Four hundred and eighty-nine.” Joichiro corrected. “We just had another one this afternoon.”
“It would be stupid to ask who won.” Gin mused. “By the way, there’s a reason I called at this hour,”
“I hope there is. You usually call home on Fridays. What is it?”
“Has Soma voiced out to you what she plans to do after middle school?”
Joichiro went silent for a moment. “No, not yet. But she seems to be indulged in cooking nowadays…”
“Joichiro, I’ve treated Soma like my own for three years now, and know that I want the best for her too. Isn’t it time for her to go to Totsuki?” he asked. “She has already missed middle school there.”
The other man sighed as he contemplated it. “You know I can’t make that decision for her, but I don’t want her to go there unprepared. Totsuki serves as a rude awakening for ordinary students.”
“But Soma is not ordinary, is she?” Gin countered. “You and I both know that she has limitless potential, just like you have. Just ask her, and I will prepare the necessary procedures if that’s what you’re worried about.”
“Hey Gin, no coattails.” Joichiro warned. “The last thing we want her to think is that she only got in because of you.”
“As if Senzaemon-san would allow it. No, I will just have to let her take the schedule of Erina’s test,”
“Hey, pitting my daughter against God’s Tongue is a bit evil.”
“Not against. Erina is tasked to oversee examinations, not compete with the examinees,” Gin corrected. “She’ll be well taken care of. Someone is offering you to travel again, and maybe it’s time for you to do so while Soma is away,”
“Assuming she passes, then let’s talk,” he negotiated. “I don’t have to leave three days after the examination, but if she fails, I’ll send her to a normal school afterwards.” He bargained.
“It’s a deal then.”
“No. It’s a bet.”
“Fine.” Gin agreed.
But Jouichiro was not done yet. “But you’re going home and you will help me tell her.”
That caught Gin’s curiosity, “Why?”
The other man had to roll his eyes. “This is Soma’s future we are talking about, and you kind of promised that we would drop bombs with her with the two of us present. Don’t escape from this, Mr. Loyal Dog.”
“Alright, Mr. Stray Cat.” Gin replied teasingly.
“High school choices?” Soma asked Kurase during their Home Ec class.
Kurase nodded. “Have you thought of a school to go to, Yukihira-chan?”
Soma hummed as she thought of her future. What did she want to do the most? High school was going to be another academic drawl for three years, but after that, what would she do? She inwardly sighed and smiled. “I’m going to inherit the restaurant of course!” she said gleefully. Of course, that’s what she’s always been talking about ever since she turned three and had inherited her father’s interest in cooking. Now that she was a teenager…she wasn’t really sure about that right now.
“Must be nice, having two dads who are good at cooking like yours,” Koganei sighed. “You’ll be great for sure!”
Soma simply smiled at that, but inside her, she felt different. Sure she loves her dads to bits, but she feels like she doesn’t stand a chance against her parents. She was afraid to admit it, but she was insecure about her cooking skills. With the two of them who could beat her in cooking without breaking a sweat, she was not sure that she could achieve beating them with just being a normal student.
“Then why not try the entrance exams at Totsuki?” another one of Soma’s classmates suggested.
That caught Soma’s attention. “What’s that?”
Her classmate rolled her eyes at her cluelessness. It was no secret that a lot of girls harbored a kind of jealousy towards Soma because of her cooking skills, but they quickly dissipated the moment they got to know the girl who had no interest of using her skills to seduce boys. There was even one time when a playboy had tried to hit on her, and Soma had used him as a guinea pig for her gross food experiments to drive him away. Add to that, her kind but blunt personality had endeared her to younger students and her classmates simply because she was an open book and had no ulterior motives (if it does not involve her experiments).
“Totsuki is the best culinary school in Japan! Getting into that school is pretty hard, but if it’s you, Yukihira-san, you would definitely pass.” She commented.
Soma contemplated the choice. She could go, but then she would be leaving her dad behind at home. Her dad was alone as it is with her father not being present most of the time because of his job at the resort he works at. Then again, he did overhear his parents talking about how her dad was in-demand overseas, had it not been for her whom he was raising at the moment. Maybe trying to go to a boarding school would ease him up on the workload he has to deal with raising her. Maybe.
Looking back at her classmate, she immediately asked, “Where do I go for an application?”
A few days later, Soma was livid as she cleaned the restaurant sign from the white paint that had been thrown at it merely a few hours before and after kicking out the realtor bitch who dared tarnish the restaurant that Soma and her parents had run for years. She hopes the woman would stay away from her before she has the mind to chop and serve her body to cannibals—‘Whoa! Wait! Too much!’ Soma thought as she caught herself with her thoughts. She should have some respect to cannibals.
Sighing, she didn’t hear her parents arrive at the house.
“Had some trouble?”
Soma’s head turned at the voice of her father and saw that indeed, her father was home, though uncharacteristically so. She also noticed that on her parents’ hands were grocery bags, which meant that Gin was more than eager to cook dinner tonight. “Father! Dad, hey.” She said the last part in a normal tone which ticked Jouichiro off at her teasing. She then remembered that she had a paint thinner and a cloth on her hands and a very white restaurant sign. “It was just a little trouble. I set them straight though. Don’t worry, I cleaned up the restaurant while you were gone.” She added, not really inclined to tell them that the restaurant’s interior was trashed under her watch.
Gin chucked at her tirade. “Take a break. Your dad and I want to tell you something.” He said.
“Oh, good. I have something to tell you guys as well.” Soma said as she carefully went down the ladder. “I want to leave.”
It took the two men to process what she said before they reacted. “WHAT?!”
Soma just looked at them as if they were going nuts. “No need to shout. I’m just leaving.” She said as she proceeded to go inside, not really noticing the fact that a lot of ideas were going on inside the heads of her parents.
In their panic, Gin and Jouichiro started to follow her in the house. “What do you mean you want to leave the house?” Jouichiro demanded.
“Exactly my point.” she said as she reached for her bag and rummaged to grab an envelope from it.
“You…you’re not eloping are you?!” Gin asked. The thought of Soma leaving with a guy sent an overprotective streak about him.
“Eloping?! Who’s the boy Soma? I’ll kill him!” Jouichiro said with a growl, having half the mind to kill whoever made Soma decide on leaving.
Soma stared at her parents as if they had grown two heads. “What? No! To begin with, I have no interest of being in a relationship right now! Stop thinking too far!” she chided and handed them the envelope. “This is why I want to leave the house.”
The two were taken aback by her answer, and Gin took the envelope from her and opened it with Jouichiro looming beside him. When he took out the papers inside, the two were surprised to read the content: Totsuki Culinary Academy Entrance Exams Application Form.
“An application form to Totsuki?” the two of them said in unison.
“Yes.” Soma said and grumbled, “Geez, what is going on with you two? Eloping? I fear the things that run in your heads when I’m concerned.” She muttered.
“You took us by surprise!” Jouichiro argued. “Not once had you said anything about wanting to leave the house before.”
Soma inwardly rolled her eyes at her dad and sat down on the nearby stool by the counter. “Well, now I am.”
Gin, ignoring his husband’s tirade, sighed and placed the papers back in the envelope. “Well, this makes things much easier then.”
This earned him a raised brow from the red-head. “Makes things easier how?”
“Your father was considering going back to working overseas for at least three years. We were contemplating for months whether to send you to a boarding school and closing up the restaurant for the time being. It’s surprising you chose the school where we intended to send you.”
Soma was at a shock about this. So her dad was contemplating on going back overseas travelling and working. “Huh? So you two have been planning on how to get me to leave the restaurant these past few months?”
Jouichiro sighed. “Look at it this way, Soma, we’re not trying to get rid of you.” He said gently. “We figured if I was going to go back overseas, you will at least have a place to stay where you can improve your cooking. Besides, if you attend Totsuki, you will have a good chance in beating one of us or both of us in the future.”
Soma seemed to consider the possibility, just to humor her parents. She had already decided on going there to beat the two of them anyway. “Well…if you put it that way, it makes sense…”
“What made you choose Totsuki in the first place, Soma?” Jouichiro wondered. He could have sworn that he had hidden all traces of him ever going to that school until she was old enough, and Gin knew when to shut his mouth, so where did she hear about the school?
“From a classmate of mine. She said that it’s the best cooking school in the country, so, why not. The only problem is the tuition. It’s three times more expensive than public school.” She said with a troubled sigh. “I was going to talk to the two of you to discuss the fees, but now that you two are clearly on board, I don’t have to take a part-time job.”
Sometimes, Soma’s temporary ‘independent mentality’ showing amazes the two men, despite not knowing at first on how to raise a girl when the two of them were men, and this was one of those times. “You thought ahead that much?” Gin asked, quite proud that at least, Soma was not completely impulsive.
“Of course. How else am I going to pay for it?” Soma replied.
“You know that money is no object to us, Soma,” Gin said as he ruffled her hair, something that Soma both loved and disliked at the same time. “I’ll cover for everything that you will need when you pass.” Soma noticed that her father used when and not if which made her believe that the two of them has enough confidence that she would pass the exams.
Jouichiro scoffed, “Maybe because you actually have no idea how to spend it other than your designer suits…” he muttered.
“Hey, that’s an insult to my tailor.” Gin replied playfully.
“You mean the tailor that kept hitting on you every time you meet?” Soma asked and then turned to her dad, “Insult away Dad,”
“You two…” Gin shook his head with a small smile on his face. “Well then, since we’ve established that you will be preparing for the entrance exams at Totsuki, why don’t I get started on dinner now? Jouichiro, you help me out here.”
“Yes~” Jouichiro replied lazily.
Sighing, Soma stood from her seat and made her way outside. “I’ll continue cleaning up the sign then and get cleaned up after,” she said as she ran towards the door with her parents watching.
When they were sure that Soma was no longer within hearing range, both men heaved a sigh of relief.
“I thought for sure she was going to go ballistic. I’m surprised she applied on her own.” Jouichiro muttered as the two of them headed to the kitchen.
Gin nodded in agreement. “Though it is good that she’s now beginning to consider what she wants to do in the future. Her applying on her own accord is a sign of that.”
“We raised her well, didn’t we?” Jouichiro stated.
“We did our best with her.” Gin agreed. “I just hope she would make it through.”
“She’s our daughter, what’s the worry?”
“You may be right.” Gin said as he went upstairs to get changed into his normal clothes to get started on dinner.
END
Final Comments: At this point, I blanked out. I imagined her forming a somewhat friendship with Erina, albeit riling her up and Hisako being all protective and stuff! I guess for a love interest for Soma, I can see her with some characters like Isshiki, Tsukasa or Akira.

who you should fight: Seirin edition
which KnB characters are you going to fight? [GoM]
so you’re itching for a fight and you’ve decided that you want to rumble with some high school athletes. well, the Seirin basketball team is as good a place to start as any. here’s who you should and shouldn’t be trying to tussle with:
Kagami Taiga who wins: Kagami (unless you are a werewolf) Kagami’s known weaknesses are dogs, food, and tough kanji. aside from those things, he’s pretty much invincible. also, he’s always ready to fight. he would be squaring up with you before you had time to finish rolling up your sleeves. the only people to put a dent in Kagami in the entire series are Kuroko, Riko, and Kagami himself. that’s a formidable trio, and it’s worth noting that Kagami never stays down for long. he’s back on his feet and ready to go again in no time at all. do not fight Kagami Taiga unless you are a Japanese teacher who is also a werewolf, and can therefore defeat him with both complex kanji and being a literal dog.
Kuroko Tetsuya who wins: you, but at what cost? Kuroko’s mostly weak, but be careful, if he lands a hit he could seriously damage you. have you seen him punch the basketball across the court and call it a pass? goddamn, you could get seriously injured if he tried that out on your squishy bits. also, and this is important, do you have the moral high ground in this fight? make sure you do beforehand, because if not, you’ve just gained yourself a nemesis. he’s a fucking stubborn little bugger and he won’t let the injustice of your victory continue. this is the boy who took down the GoM just to prove a point. he’s patient. he will wait. only choose to fight Kuroko if you don’t fear retribution.
Hyuuga Junpei who wins: does it matter we both know you’re going to go ahead and fight Hyuuga anyways, so we might as well give up on speculating over who’s going to win this thing. have you seen the guy? he’s dying for some way to relieve all of the pressure of being captain of a team as ridiculously reckless as Seirin. he needs this fight just as much as you do, it’ll be cathartic. please take one for the team (ha) and fight Hyuuga. it’ll do you both some good, you battle-crazed maniac. hell, you might even part on good terms.
Kiyoshi Teppei who wins: what are you doing? why?? are you trying to fight Kiyoshi???? is your name Hanamiya Makoto? because if it’s not, I’m not sure why you’re even reading this. Kiyoshi Teppei has done nothing wrong and there is no situation in which you should be trying to fight him. stop this nonsense at once. go home, take a nap, or call Hyuuga instead. honestly, what the fuck. even ignoring the fact that there’s no reason for you to be fighting him, you should be afraid of him. he has no sense of self-preservation and his hands are very strong. he could probably do that thing where he puts his hand on your head and holds you away from himself, leaving your fists swinging through empty air and you looking like a fool. do not fight Kiyoshi.
Aida Riko who wins: Riko you’re gonna fucking lose this one. Aida Riko does not fear death and she certainly does not fear you. prepare to be annihilated, you poor bastard.
Izuki Shun who wins: you Izuki is long overdue for a good smackdown, and you’re the perfect person to give it to him. all those puns at inappropriate times??? how has this been allowed to continue for so long??? well, no longer, because today is the day that someone puts a stop to them. you have to fight Izuki. he probably even deserves it. his eagle eye isn’t going to do shit for him when you’re right there up in his face and swinging, so don’t worry about it. just take him down. you can win this one, I believe in you.
Koganei Shinji and Mitobe Rinnosuke who wins: they do okay, so they have a two to one advantage on you, but if you really want to you can give it a shot. I mean, it’s impossible to fight them separately, so you’ll just have to do your best. oh, who am I kidding, Koganei would trip you while you were preoccupied with Mitobe and then they’d probably take you out for ice cream. the actual fighting will be totally unsatisfying. none of you will have any fun, so don’t fight Koganei and Mitobe, just skip right to the inevitable friendship instead.
Tsuchida Satoshi who wins: Tsuchida Tsuchida Satoshi is an enigma, a non-entity, some may even say he’s sort of like a cryptid. Kuroko Tetsuya who? Tsuchida is where the REAL mystery is at. what do we know about him? not much, which makes him incredibly unpredictable and dangerous. one of the few truths we know about Seirin’s legendary back-up power forward is that he’s the only KnB character with a girlfriend - clearly he knows something none of the other characters do. Physically, he’s fairly average - the only true weapons he has in his arsenal are his natural aura of side character mystery and the power of love, but they should be more than enough to take you down. fight Tsuchida, I dare you. we’ll see who’s just a side character after he’s through with you.
Furihata Kouki who wins: you go ahead and fight Furihata, you’re definitely going to win the first round. he’s not especially strong and if you challenge him confidently enough he’ll definitely think you know what you’re doing, so you already have an advantage over him. it’s important to note, however, that (like Kuroko) he’s a tenacious little bastard and he’ll definitely pick himself right back up and prepare for round two. you can win and keep winning, but no matter how scared he is and despite his naturally cautious nature, he can’t seem to turn down a challenge, so over time he’s definitely going to improve until one day he’ll be the one inviting you to meet him behind the gym to throw down because you’ve created a monster and he won’t stop until he’s proven himself to you. fight Furihata and you’ll have a regular sparring partner for the rest of the year.
Kawahara Kouichi who wins: you, but why are you doing this he’s a good kid, you really shouldn’t be fighting him in the first place. shit, dude, his motto is “purely and honestly”, is that really the kind of guy you think deserves to be fought? is Kawahara Kouichi, a simple oden and jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, the kind of person you want to meet in an abandoned parking lot at midnight? no, you’re not allowed to fight him, pick someone else off the list to duel with.
Fukuda Hiroshi who wins: probably Fukuda it’s my personal belief that Fukuda is the character from Seirin most likely to be a vigilante in his spare time, so, when you get your ass kicked, don’t come crying to me about it. I’m warning you right now: he has two older brothers, so he already knows every dirty trick in the book AND he’s got a lot of passion for helping out those in need, so I’d bet anything that he’s been in a scrap or two before. it might be close, he’s not really that much stronger than Furihata, but he’s the biggest and heaviest out of the normal first year trio and he’ll definitely be the most challenging to defeat. only fight him if you’ve fought Furihata and Kawahara first, and please know that I’m only saying this because how cool would it be to complete the set? (so cool)
Nigou who wins: me I’ll kick your fucking ass if you try to fight this dog. I’ll fight Kuroko for the right to kick your ass, I don’t give a fuck. if you even think about touching this dog with the intention of doing anything other than petting him, be prepared for me to physically manifest in your house and start kicking your ass. do not fight Nigou under any circumstances.
bonus: Aida Kagetora who wins: you there’s no ifs, ands, or buts about this: you HAVE to win this one. sure, he may be an adult and all that, but this man needs to be fought and you’re the one who needs to do it. lose the first round? get right back in there, champ, this ain’t over till it’s over. if you decide you want to fight him, you’re not allowed to stop until you’ve come out on top. I recommend doing this is a pro wrestling-style venue so you can climb up onto the ropes and take him down from above. just imagine how satisfying that would be. fight Aida Kagetora - you gotta.
