violently forcing myself to have better days
#everyone’s different and this isn’t true for everybody of course:#but a lot of the time we have more control over things than we can see in a difficult moment#like for example#a negative thought is inevitable and not something you can just stop. however you CAN decide from there how you let it effect you#it’s way easier said than done but you genuinely can be like hey I’m going to have a good day today#I like to set my intentions for the day and not allow my trauma nightmares to dictate how my whole day goes#but in order to do that I have to consciously decide that I deserve better and then create that for myself#does this make sense?#do things you know you enjoy/ things that make you feel better. take care of yourself. create little healthy routines to do each day#even if it’s just for 5 or 10 minutes#you have to act to make a genuine positive change in your life and circumstances#tried to say this as well as I could but I struggle w articulating exactly what I mean#like my thoughts are too complex to translate into words#anyways though I just wanted to add this- this post is not to make anybody feel bad whatsoever.#if you struggle with certain disorders and such it genuinely might be close to impossible for you to actually be able to have that control#and that’s okay. it doesn’t make you any less of a person and it is not your fault that you experience those difficulties#I just wanted to remind people that it is possible to control certain aspects of your life and it is possible to snap yourself out of it#I know I need to remember this as often as I can#that’s why I shared it#I hope this makes sense I do not know if it does lmao#(the tags)#my thoughts are so jumbled up. idk what other word to use lmao

The duality of man is when you love Hadestown so much that you hate Hadestown
#me being me#idk something something show getting generic#like it’s still a good show but a good show and 4/5 and 8/10 rating for a show such as hadestown is shameful#I do think that hadestown should hit like a life changing event that made me fall in love with it#not like some generic Broadway/WE show that you see and vaguely remember liking a year after#and like it’s kinda sad to understand that it doesn’t quite hit like this now#either because of acting choices of some folks (which tbh not fully their fault and I wrote a post about it)#either because Anaïs decides to make a lyric change which is like the most obvious downgrade#that it makes me think ‘oh the show thinks I’m stupid’#instead of idk making the one change people have been complaining for years#like even fuck it just idk leave what works working#idk I feel like seeing WE made me thinking about it more#and I did enjoy the show a lot and I had fun#but also I keep thinking how some small bits didn’t fit and the show didn’t hit as it should#which makes me feel of people who will experience ht for the first time and might not understand the show’s full impact like I did#idk just thoughts

i am so tired of female characters being inherently written as ‘terrifying’ or ‘scary’ w no respect to their characterisation.
for one, it feels so fake. i know so many women irl (i am one!!!) and there are very few, of any, that i would categorise as ‘scary as is’. heck, even if we go by tempers—the numbers just don’t match.
but somehow in fics, every single woman is a terrifying force of nature bc that’s…somehow…the only way we can think of women? idk?
and also just, it’s such a two dimensional characterisation that i only see w the female characters. all men aren’t angry and hex-happy and scary all the time. they’re affable, chill, respond to situations thoughtfully instead of always resorting to violence.
i think it also bothers me bc the anger thing flows neatly into the v gendered carefree man child/stuck up fun sponge stereotypes that so many relationships are forced into. it’s just an icky dynamic all around.
and lastly,,,i don’t think it’s even normal for a character to be latently terrifying everyone all the time??? unless it’s a specific quirk of theirs??? like women aren’t dementors bro chill tf out
#i just get. so frustrated by how women are written#and ofc this isn’t just limited to fics#all books have these gendered tropes#and i get so annoyed#the whole thing anger also#is it just feels so disingenuous#bc womanhood & anger (and performing/displaying it) is so complicated bc of socialisation n patriarchy#women are simultaneously not allowed to be angry and portrayed as screechy harpies#and so when characters are written like that it just seems to reinforce these ideas#clearly it bothers me a lot haha#u just can’t escape it ykno? that’s my issue#it makes it’s way into writing on such a subconscious level#and people think they’re writing a strong female character#when really they’ve just introduced someone with anger issues#like. it’s NOT normal to always be scared of someone and their reactions ok?#and it’s not okay for women to always be parenting the people (men) around them#constantly checking to see if something is dangerous or if they’re fucking up or do all the responsible things like#how can u not see ur reproducing gendered notions of personality 😭😭#like plssss#and it’s fiction!!!#we are writing about magic and fantasy#but it’s hard for us to conceive of an alternative perception of womanhood? be so fr bruh#like. i guess what i’m getting at. is that women are also just. I love that every wiki is like ‘You get to the red line and it’s revealed Pavel is a high ranking officer’ and I’m like I knew that. I mean I didn’t know he was a major specifically, but he definitely told me he was an officer when we were on the surface.
Which begs the question: did he forget he was pretending to be a grunt and let it slip, because he got so comfortable around Artyom.

I see some Lando/Mclaren fans upset that RB used Daniel to get fastest lap. While I understand the frustration this is just proof to me that RB are not at all confident in their ability to keep the gap in the WDC. Yes RB has upgrades coming but so do Mclaren. Keep in mind how upgrades have gone this year for RB… and how much have they actually been able to dedicate their resources to these upgrades in comparison to Mclaren
also it’s strange to me that if someone outside the top 10 can even go for fastest lap (yes I am aware they don’t get the bonus point)… cause they’re just pitting onto a soft tyre from/to last place and just driving a quali sim lap. It’s not really impressive cause it holds no weight in there race. Whereas let’s say if p1 builds a big enough gap to pit and gets fastest lap it’s genuinely impressive and a show of complete dominance over the field. Or a driver fighting in the points putting in a killer lap while risking the points they are due to gain. It’s spectacular and exciting to see. I personally don’t think it should take the point away from the driver running in the top 10 who has the actual fastest RACING lap. But I add this to the list of rules I find is strange (like if you cause a red flag in quali you get to keep your lap time????)

Not gonna lie I do think tv peaked with stargate sg1
#nobody apples and oranges me on this#but like watching it now there is so much that tv shows have forgotten in the last 10 (+) years that I want to be remembered#like. modern tv it’s like everyone wants high concept 10 hour movies in chunks. and now companies are falling short on even those#expectations#and then there’s sg-1. and it’s corny#it’s high concept but it doesn’t showcase it’s narrative as its centerpiece (which really works in its favor) while also having some#semblance of continuity throughout the episodes. it has characters that while consistent aren’t immovable or incapable of being wrong#and ultimately serving the episodic narrative point. it’s universe is rich and expansive but also keeps it close to home#and watching the clipshow episodes feels like such a non diagetic time capsule being a method of a bygone era#not to mention how much the main cast has and continues to do such incredible work???? and it shows how much they know came from this show#(specifically looking at christopher judge and amanda tapping- absolute legends both)#idk man I’m just… this show is so fucking good like what would I ever do without her#also like it can be deep but also like. it’s fun??? it’s just fun. we don’t just have fun with tv anymore#(only exception I know of might be foundation tbh. they have a vibe that comes very close to that

Was soooooo happy with this phase 1 which is what made it so much funnier that I was immediately clapped by his phase 2 😂
#romina is still my fave boss but messmer is a solid second#almost every other boss I would describe as “would’ve been good if their damage wasn’t so overtuned”#my stance if that if I’m consistently losing to a boss with 10/14 flasks left the damage is overtuned#vs me losing to sword saint isshin with no gourds or pellets left bc he was tough enough to whittle me down#fromsoft bros will say get good but think high numbers is big difficulty#an actually difficult boss doesn’t need big damage output if the mechanics are the challenge#I don’t actually mind how relentless the bosses are in ER but I mind how HARD they hit on top of that#dodging a 12 hit uninterruptible combo where each move does like 1/10th of your health? that’s fine.#if I properly time 3 of those dodges I can still make it and it’s honestly my bad if I’m getting killed by that#dodging a 12 hit uninterruptible combo where each hit takes out 1/2 of ur health bar & has a 50% chance for an additional retaliation combo?#I *can* do it but Jesus Christ what a waste of my time lmao#how am I supposed to learn a boss when I can’t get into a flow state bc a single mistake can end a run smh#I just beat gaius and I didn’t even feel accomplished I was just like ugh finally#I feel like 95% of his moves are fine once you work out the delays and positioning#but I kept getting clipped by his charge attack like I would dodge out of the way but once the i frames were finished I’d still get hit#bc I guess I wasn’t dodging a perfect 90 degrees to him and the hitbox for that attack is long as hell#which would be whatever if that move didn’t take out like 2/3 of my health and come out nigh instantly#I don’t even really know the tell for the move bc I beat him before I learned it bc I lucked out on a run where he didn’t charge me a lot#luckily the game is absolute DELIGHT to look at and explore that I can forgive the absolute bullshittery of the bosses#like I just got to the summit of dragon peak and I’m blown away by the design of that mountain#if we’re talking verisimilitude in games how about that whole shebang#no obvious well worn path up to the top of the mountain bc it’s just for dragons who’s gonna be walking up there?#having the player follow a trail of increasingly dense dragon corpses is SUCH a great tone setter#which means I’m probably going to hate bayle but whatever I’m already invested let’s gooooo#tsuchi plays games

I finally finished the end of the last season of Teen Wolf this week, and I almost wish I didn’t because I think the Season 6A plot would’ve been a better ending
#teen wolf#stiles stilinski#scott mccall#like stiles and Scott’s friendship is so CORE to the show#and they barely even talk in the final episode#stiles is back which is so exciting but he doesn’t serve a PURPOSE in thr ep#he like gets jealous of Jackson and cries pathetically in a flashback#stiles deserved better#he deserved waaaay better for a final arc conclusion#also like the ONLY relationship that was active and didn’t get air time was stiles and Lydia#alsk the ONLY one that is still existing that was present in episode one#it’s just rude and an INJUSTICE to their character relationships in all regards#also like I did not get the idea of fear affecting the town and making people turn on the pack#and tamora Monroe’s backstory made NO SENSE#ugh the whole thing was AGGRAVATING and episode 10 would have been a MUCH better ending#lydia martin#stydia#Tamora Monroe#teen wolf salt#teen wolf season 6#teen wolf series finale#riders on the storm#the wolves of war#also ALSO! bringing Gerard back again was annoying#and you know who I wanted to see again#ISSAC!#I cared WAY more about Issac getting an ending than Jackson and Ethan wtf#sorry I’m just feeling my feelings I do like the show in general but I had put off watching season 6B for so long and it was disappointing#dylan o'brien
