I think one of my favorite aspects of Longlegs was Lee's voice. Obviously a large part of it is Maika Monroe's natural voice and all, but the way she performed it made Lee's voice sound almost. Childish at times? If that makes sense. Like the inflection she used and the way she delivered her lines and the emotions behind them all had this vulnerable youth to them.

And I just think it goes really well with both the themes of the movie and Lee as a character, as a way to show that this awful thing that happened to her as a child (that she doesn't even remember!!) has permanently and irreparably stagnated her as a person.

thinking about the first time i watched the scene where nat rests her head on lottie’s lap and lottie sees the shadow of the antlers and i thought that it was nat bringing back lottie’s memories of the wilderness and being antler queen but now we know nat was antler queen its SO MUCH BETTER because nat was at her most vulnerable in the wilderness, so whenever lottie sees nat being vulnerable she can’t help but see her as the version of herself she was out there

Thinking about how Mimzy and Alastor's friendship tells so much about Al. The way she comes to him for safety because she knows he will deal with a problem she has but can't take care of, and indeed he does (and the way she approaches him later on implies this has happened before, and he was okay with that; same with what Husk said about Mimzy). He enjoys her friendship (he might not fancy people a lot, but I think he is rather picky and actually enjoys company; Mimzy isn't the only example either). But when it comes to putting the Hotel into danger, he warns her. And it surprises Mimzy. It proves that he likes having company, but when it comes to his own plans or anything similar, he is not afraid to draw a line or even hurt them.

they're all like that actually! but raph would be more hesitant about it

ronin tends to dote more on raph tho!, 1) because donnie was autistic and he knows how to deal with autism which really helps raph's childhood (splinter is learning thanks to ronin) and 2) his big brother was strong til the very end he wants this version of his big brother to not have to be strong for everyone and basically helping raph in all the ways he wished he could for his brother!

i think its just as dangerous to overestimate someone as it is to underestimate them.

people thinking that quinn was too easily caught have forgotten how long its taken. its taken 2 years just to track him down. someone was killed during his arrest and others were injured, and he has had countless victims. i don't think it was too easy, i think that quinn got cocky. i think that quinn overestimated his own power and hold. i think that if quinn thought he got caught, he could get out of it one way or another. and when he realized that he wasn't getting out of it so easily (which, for all we know, his maker could still pull some strings and get him just a slap on the wrist) he decided to take the opportunity to continue being an abusive prick. quinn is grasping at straws, i don't think he would have done what he did if he thought he was getting out of this. quinn isn't stupid, but he is arrogant and i think that was his downfall

the most she could get into is like, random stuff that's stuffed in the van. I think it probably took a short amount of time, it's a very "mime had to leave for school + work and shifty isn't a responsible father" moment, leaving her to literally go wherever and do whatever

Once I was camping with a friend and we got into an argument on how “Maurice” was pronounced (specifically for the book/movie). She pronounced it the typical “Mor-reece” way and doubted me when I told her it was pronounced “Morris”. Luckily I had a bunch of Maurice clips saved on my phone and I was able to prove her wrong.

norwegian dialects r crazy cuz when i say "has not" i abbreviate the words together and technically say "chop" and when i say "chopping" i say "chop"

har ikke (has not) → hakke

han hakker (he is chopping) → han hakke
