How I sacrificed everything to beg Russell T Davies to canonize Richard E Grant's Doctor

Several years ago, when it was announced that RTD would be returning to Doctor Who, this trend started of people commenting on his photos "Like this comment if David Tennant is coming back," "Like this comment if Donna is coming back" etc.

So I decided to comment: "Like this comment if you're going to canonize Richard E Grant's Ninth Doctor." And so, he liked my comment. And then he blocked me. And for years now, when I tell people that RTD blocked me on Instagram I have to stop and explain the whole story.

Anyways, last night this happened:

That's an image of Richard E Grant in a lineup of all the TV Doctors, including Hurt and Jo Martin. According to people who worked on the show, it's a special photo taken of Grant just for this scene.

So thank you Russell, it was worth it.

Incidentally, I just want to explain that I was a big DW fan before 2005, so I saw Scream of the Shalka at age 6 and was really dejected when Dad explained it wasn't going to continue. I've long head-canoned that the Richard E Grant Doctor is out there somewhere, with Time War shenanigans accounting for it all. Here's my custom Shalka Doctor:

I love the licensed doctor who ttrpg where the author clearly has some sort of personal disdain towards non human or campy player characters but contractually can't exclude them (on account of it's doctor who) so instead opts to passive aggressively bully people out of playing aliens and having funny names

#all rpgs should be written like this. you think you want to play a dwarf but they have strange customs and habits. humans can be short too.#also love the example bad character being followed up with 'that would be like-' before tangenting into another equally long hypothetical #another weird doctor who post. sorry !

I originally made these as a single swatch for my weeping angel sims, but I figured I might as well add some colors and share them for everyone, in case anyone else wanted to make some weeping angels.

Something about 15 having more elements of Gallifreyan culture (the writing on the sonic and on the freaking nails) in his image than any Doctor before.

Something about him flippantly stating he was abandoned instead of TOTALLY KIDNAPPED MY PARENTS WERE TOTALLY SOMEWHERE THERE IN THAT COMPLETELY EMPTY SPOT.

Something about knowing it's more important to save Ruby now than to learn of her past.

Something about parent with their own issues frame rather than an eternal child.

Something about identifying with the past you had with its good and bad sides rather than the very bad sides you can't even remember.

the thing about the terror is the same thing would happen if they were all just working at a grocery store literally anywhere ? like john franklin is the shitty general manager that is providing 0 oversight. hickey is someone who is a shit employee that is only held on to bc he's attached himself to some middle management. the stewards are cashiers bc the front end is where you know everyone, interact w bigger bosses more frequently and have a weird interpersonal dynamics that are akin to a chicken coop. the lieutenants are like supervisors for depts of the store. it hasn't been going well. they ran out of plastic bags like a month ago,,,
