Mutant Pokémon
The creations of the mad Doctor Splicer in the SMG Pokémon Anime Universe. The new Porygon evolutions technically aren't mutants but Splicer did program the items that cause said evolutions, so they're on the list. Also, the Porygon evos are officially in the Donanda Pokedex because those programs were written and made open source a few years ago, and so are Psyduck and Golduck because a bunch of specimens escaped into the wild at some point a long time ago and they integrated into the ecosystem well enough that they were mistaken for a newly discovered Regional Variant. The rest are only registered after the twerp squad encounter and defeat Splicer the first time (he escaped afterwards), and aren't considered native to any region.
(Note: Shinies are on the right. I'll add more drawings as I make them)

Tsareena
The Royal Spirit Pokémon Poison/Fairy Abilities: Liquid Ooze/Queenly Magesty Evolves from Mutant Steenee when leveled up while holding a Black Sludge
Ultrazard
The True Dragon Pokémon Dragon/Flying Ability: Inner Fire (The Pokémon functions as though it is a Fire-Type alongside its existing Types) Despite clearly being related to Charizard, this Pokémon is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon
Ultrazard actually isn't revealed during the initial Lab Raid, instead it's revealed during the League (which will happen after the Vacation Arc) where one of Jet's matches ends up being against Doctor Splicer in disguise, who after revealing himself traps himself and Jet on the battlefield using force fields and makes Jet battle the final evolutions of all his creations (except Gardevior, he has a Gallade who's apparently Ash's Gardevoir's brother) one after the other to try and prove that they're superior to normal Pokemon. Yes, that's a seven Pokemon team. Do you think a maniac like him gives a shit?

In BioShock 2, Jack has seemingly become a man of legend among the Splicers left in Rapture. Even Sofia Lamb looks upon him positively, seeing his lack of free will as a boon and inspiration for her to begin her Utopian Experiments. Simon Wales believes Jack to be a god, mentioning how he killed Andrew Ryan. In Siren Alley, paintings of Jack's activities in Rapture can be seen, with subjects such as the plane crash, Dr. Steinman, and Jack's wrist about to be injected with a Plasmid. In one of Frank Fontaine's Audio Diaries, set directly before the beginning of BioShock, he mentions "I've got a hell of a surprise for Andrew Ryan. Long time comin'. And right about now, I expect the prodigal son is bookin' his flight…"

you mentioned a while back making a yandere! atlas.. yes !!! i love the first 2 games so much and just watched a burial at sea atlas moments video.. hcs or oneshot, just any content with him would be so so cool! maybe the reader is similiar to jack's/elizabeth's position, someone hes supposed to guide but then gets a little too attached to
A/n: Hi anon! Thank you for the request and sorry it took so long! My life has been really hectic and all over the place recently. But I'll do my best to fulfill your request to the best of my ability! 🫡
P.S. I'm gonna try to make this as gender neutral as I can but it might lean more towards afab!reader due to some of the lines Atlas says to Elizabeth in the dlc. (It's been a minute so sorry if any of this feels rushed or incomplete)
Finders Keepers
You quickly entered the elevator, barely managing to escape the splicers and big daddies that seemed to be around every corner. Despite the predicament you were in, and how many wounds you didn't have enough medical supplies to patch up, you still made it to some kind of safety.
"I can't help Sally if I'm just like everyone else down here," you sighed, "I can't even get back to where I was.."
You leaned against the railing, exhausted to no end as you felt the elevator move to its destination. You groaned internally as you heard the crackle and scratch of the walkie on your hip awakening.
It was that bastard, Atlas.
"If you don't mind me askin', love: why you talkin' to nobody? If I had pegged you for a loon, I might've had second thoughts on our 'arrangement.'" He spoke with a tone that had you gritting your teeth.
You scoffed, "I'll hold up my end. But I better find the girl the way I left her."
"You're in no position to make demands. But I must confess, I do like a bit o' sass in a lass."
You rolled your eyes as you could hear the smirk on his face. Groaning in annoyance, you reloaded your revolver and crossbow. You have to be prepared for anything in this sick and twisted society.
You stepped out of the elevator, thinking you’d be prepared for anything until a pissed off Big Daddy came charging in your direction, not seeing much of a difference between you and some of the splicers that dwelled down here.
You began to run, trying to put as many obstacles between you and the giant creature as possible. You were successful for a while until you were trapped in an old bar, a couple buzzed up splicers clinging to the ceiling with their rusty hooks.
For a moment, you thought you might’ve lost the big guy, until a loud groan and a hard hit to the middle of your back sent you flying into the shelves of liquor. Glass shattered against your skin as they began to sink in and the world became darker around you…
*Time skip to two weeks later*
It felt like your head was buzzing. Your brain pounding in your skull as if it was being asked to be let out. Your body felt sore, the world around you slowly fading into existence as you slowly regained consciousness.
"Folks say it's only a matter of time until Atlas's entire mob comes out waving the white flag..." The announcer on the radio in front of you said before fading out into static.
You groaned from the sharp sound, brows pinching together from the pain in your head. You went to raise your hand to hold your head only to realise you were tied down on a chair.
Once your vision became clear, you could see the shadow of a man smoking a cigarette in front of you, a Rapture building crumbling to pieces just outside the window.
"Two weeks.." said the man.
"Huh.. w-what..?" You grunted.
"You've been down two weeks, love. Feckin' doctors, better off hiring monkeys if they're gonna harm what's mine in the same way." It took a moment before you realised Atlas stood in front of you.
You groaned, glaring at the back of the man's skull, "Our deal was to get you out of prison. What did you expect? To win your little civil war for you too?"
He chuckled, throwing his cigarette onto the ground, not needing to stomp on it due to the water leaking through the cracks in the ceiling.
"No, no, no," he turned around, slowly walking into the standing light that was shining in your face the whole time, "You see, that was the plan at first. To have you find my Ace in the Hole and bring Ryan down alongside the other pricks that dwell down here."
He slowly stalked towards you, resembling a hungry lion hunting its gazelle. "However, things change and unfortunately," he slammed his hands onto the arm rests your wrists were still tied to, causing you to jump in your seat, "you ain’t got a choice in the matter."
He stood up straight, circling you with a glint in his eye that you couldn't quite make out. "So now, lass, you belong to me."
You couldn't tell if the bumps on your skin were from the cold air or his words.
"Wait, what? The hell are you talking about? We had a fucking deal, Atlas!" You grunted, shifting uncomfortably in your seat.
He placed one hand on your thigh the other on your chin, his cigarette and alcohol-laced breath fanning your face, "I need you to get something through your pretty skull of yours, love. You will listen to me, you only belong to me. And if you don’t follow those simple, little rules…”
He takes a step back, grabbing one of the lobotomy tools on the table, “…I’ll take matters into my own hands.”

This question just randomly popped up in my mind, do Ana Brays face markings mean anything? If they do, would you please tell me?
Also would you please, give some interesting facts about Ana Bray? Or any lore including the involvement of Ana Bray?
Thank you!
Nothing in particular on her face markings, as far as I'm aware. We know that she didn't have them before becoming a Guardian, which means she put them on at some point after being rezed.
Her comic (part 3) also further specifies by showing her without the markings during Twilight Gap:
But the next time we see her in the same comic, when she's hiding after faking her death, she has them:
Possibly something to help her hide her identity? She also changed her hair style in the meantime. But we don't really know if they have any additional meaning.
One of my favourite Ana Bray facts was the stuff she was doing before she became a Guardian. I love her talking about her profession:
You can lead a machine to language, but you can't make it think. Well, you can't. But I can. My name is Ana Bray. If you want to insult me, call me a neurolinguist.
Not that it isn't a fine and noble profession, but neurolinguistics is about encoding language. I'm a psycholinguist. I study how language can lead to independent thought.
People don't really see her as a scholar and I've even seen people saying she's not smart, but she is absolutely incredibly smart and educated. Her profession is what led her to teaching Rasputin everything she did, in an effort to teach him not just how to speak, but essentially how to feel and think independently by using language as a base.
These are some older lore tabs that were recently reinforced with some extra details in Season of the Seraph. It's a fascinating read into Ana's expertise and thinking and her work that I've rarely, if ever, seen people mention. I linked the first bit up there, the rest in order: 2, 3, 4 and 5. Favourite part:
Military history, he's been fed by the truckload. But then I started in with operas and symphonies. I don't want him just to think about things.
Humans don't communicate strictly through data. We also communicate through art, through expression. If Rasputin is to be the most effective communications device in the Sol system, I want him to feel things.
Ana was incredible as a scientist and once you know how smart and innovative she is, you can kinda see why she always wanted to return to that passion and learn more about her pre-Guardian life. She even says it in the same comic I linked above:
At Twilight Gap, that Fallen gave me the opening I needed to let the world believe Guardian Ana Bray was dead, so that Doctor Anastasia Bray could finally do what needed to be done.
Another interesting and peculiar less known fact is that Ana was very likely a member of the Future War Cult. I kept seeing that being said, but couldn't figure out where it came from so I went to do a little research. Now for start, Future War Cult wasn't all just bad stuff we remember from Splicer; they were founded by Maya Sundaresh herself and have long lasting ties to Golden Age science and experiments. It might be that Ana joined or cooperated with FWC with that connection to the Golden Age in mind; Ana always knew who she used to be and always wanted to learn more about it. FWC could've been an early attempt to find out.
Back in Destiny 1, there was a mission that had Lakshmi sending you to Twilight Gap as part of the quest to get the exotic No Time To Explain. The quest involved a lot of different missions and included artifacts from Praedyth and Pujari, but also Ana Bray; they were artifacts manipulated by the Vex and time, with links to death. The artifact found at Twilight Gap was Ana's bracelet:
Upon returning to Lakshmi with it, she says:
Interesting! She is not only familiar with this, but she also says that the FWC inner circle will be grateful that the artifact has been "returned," sort of implying that it has been there before, with Ana. I wouldn't say it conclusively proves that Ana was a member, as the FWC may have been interested in the artifact purely for research purposes; the quest itself delves into researching artifacts that were pulled from time; Ana's bracelet may have been pulled because of the connection to No Time To Explain and Elsie. It's an interesting quest, if anyone wants to see it in its entirety, link to the only full playlist I could find is here.
Either way, it's a neat little tidbit from the past. I can definitely see Ana exploring FWC for potential links to not just her personal past, but also for the Golden Age in general.

Fandom: BioShock (infinite I guess? Idk some time during Atlas was around)
Character: Atlas, Irish twat
Pairing: Romantic for Atlas, altho darling would theoretically not like them.
Type of Fic: a short. Plot being, darling tries to escape Atlas again (who wouldn't the dude is nuts) and he cements his craziness by giving her a lobotomy (like in the game) as punishment. Whether he finishes the surgery or not is up to you, all I know is that you can theoretically survive a lobotomy. Or not, idk I ain't a doctor
I'd love to! I watched the cutscenes with Atlas in them for Infinite and I'd love to write something similar to that!
I had to do lobotomy research for this fic-
Change In Mindset
Yandere! Atlas Short
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Female Darling, Manipulation, Failed escape attempt, Kidnapping, Lobotomy attempt/Punishment, Forced relationship, Sadism, Violence, Torture mention, Murder, Sexism if you squint ig, Blood, I kept the Lobotomy scene vague and not detailed because I hate the idea of it and I was cringing the entire time, Put the image under the read more as it could be a triggering gif.
Traversing Rapture alone was a dangerous feat. Splicers roamed everywhere and actively hunted each other down. Rapture was a collapsing city consumed with conflict.
To you, the idea of hiding from Splicers like some street rat in a sunken city was better than going back to Atlas.
Ah, Atlas... a revolutionary leader against Andrew Ryan's tyranny. In reality, the two weren't all that different. If anything you found Atlas a bit more sadistic and cruel than Ryan.
Atlas was also your lover. You wish you could say he wasn't... but he was never too keen on the idea of letting you go. You had become an item with him on a whim, he's charismatic and has such a way with convincing people.
When you got closer to him you realized the truth of who Atlas was. He wasn't a charming leader, it was an act. He's cruel, manipulative, and willing to kill and torture to get what he wants.
That very same Atlas tried to be sickeningly sweet with you. He called you his girl, his doll, his lovely lady.... The very same mouth that hurled insults and threats towards others... kissed you with passion and complimented you.
He's a charming monster. One who metaphorically chained you to him to keep you as his. You had no doubts he killed and tortured for you... just so he can keep his claws in your flesh.
There was a certain point you couldn't handle being beside him anymore. His kisses and hold were always too rough. He made you do what he wanted, regardless on how you felt.
That look in his eyes screamed possessive. He always looked at you with hunger as he held you. He scared you... sometimes you feared he'd kill you.
You escaped... you ran the moment you sensed danger within the man who claimed to love you. The Splicers were not much better but with some stealth you could probably survive, right? In all honesty... you had no idea where you were going to go after this.
Escaping Atlas was simply a dream. Ever since his whole crew had been sunk by Ryan, you have been stuck here. It's like you were in a cage, really.
He'd find you at some point... there was no doubt he was looking for you now. You knew he'd never let you go willingly. In fact, many of his thugs swarmed this area.
You felt like everyone was your enemy. Think of your situation, a young women lost in a city that's falling apart. Her lover being a cruel tyrant for "the people"....
Being caught was inevitable. You could only run for so long. As much as you wanted to ignore the truth, the truth would slam back into your face.
Just like the wrench that collided with the back of your head.
...
By the time you're able to regain your bearings, you're strapped to a chair in a familiar room. The lights blind you and your head throbs painfully like a rhythmic drum
This looks a lot like... the room you and Atlas would frequently stay in? You can't think much without the back of your head ringing in pain. You shake in your restraints, trying to pull them off.
Only to stop when the shape of a hand grips your chin.
"Don't move, doll, it'll only make it all hurt a lot worse."
The tyrant rears his deceptively charming head.
"Atlas...."
"Now where were you running off to, little lady? Needed some fresh air? You know it's dangerous without me around...."
You stay silent, what were you thinking....
"It hurts, really. To think you'd run away from the one I thought you held so dear. Luckily I had one of my men carry you in..." Atlas then leans forward, grinning. "Of course, he hit you rather hard, so I had to correct that by slitting his throat. You aren't getting off easy either, love."
"You really are going to kill me, aren't you-"
"Kill you? I could never. I love you too much for that..." Atlas leans forward to kiss your lips teasingly before pulling away. "I would never kill my doll... however, a man has to correct his lady's behavior, right?"
Your heart drops to you stomach when Atlas turns away only to come back with two tools. A metal spike, and a mallet. Your eyes shakily trail from the tools to his disappointed face.
"I thought you'd be a good girl and listen to me. I guess not... which is where these come in. Normally a doctor would do this but I'd rather do it on you myself, my love."
He pushes your head back and aims the pointed tool near your eye socket. You shake and tell him 'no'. He doesn't listen.
"This is a lobotomy, my dear." Atlas hums, pushing the tool closer.
"You could say it will correct your behavior. I always felt you've been a bit too rebellious for my liking."
You feel the tool starting to prod its way into your skull. Atlas grabs the mallet and grins while blood flows down from your eye.
"How about we change your mindset, love? I promise to be gentle...."
You scream for him to stop... he ignores you and taps the mallet on the tool lodged in your skull.
----
You felt like you lost a part of yourself after Atlas took you in. In fact, you literally did. Atlas had removed a part of your brain. Some memories from your past were replaced with what felt like blank holes.
Your emotions... were nearly non-existent. Apathy was all you ever felt. Actually... you felt quite hollow.
Atlas didn't seem too upset about it. In fact, he felt it was deserved. Running away deserved punishment... now you wouldn't run away. Now you had to stay by him.
Atlas still kissed you and said he loved you. Even though he mutilated your mind beyond repair, he simply used it to his advantage. Now you were just like he had wanted you.
You were like a doll that listened to his every word. You never showed much emotion afterwards. That only allowed Atlas more control, which kept him happy.
"It's such a shame I had to change you like this, doll...." Atlas murmurs, kissing you once again while holding your cheek. "But if I'm being honest... I like that you no longer fight me with anything now."
He pulls you closer, combing his hands down your back.
"Now you won't run... you won't even rebel..."
Atlas holds your chin upwards and meets your distant gaze.
"You can just be my girl... with none of the added fuss, right, love?"
He kisses you once again, but you don't react.

Bioshock Splicer Starters (Part 2)
Assortment of dialogue taken from the a from two types of Splicers in the first Bioshock game; Dr. Grossman and Lady Smith
Other Bioshock Splicer starters: [Baby Jane & Breadwinner] TBA [Pigskin & Rosebud] [Toasty & Waders]
Dr. Grossman
"No handouts!"
"No, it ENDS WITH YOU!"
"Look at you! Filthy!"
"You keep away from my patients!"
"STOP. FOLLOWING ME!"
"You're crawling with disease!"
"You question my judgement?!"
"I'm the goddamn doctor!"
"Diseased! You're diseased!"
"You're crawling! You're sick!"
"You die here and now, parasite!"
"This is our place. Ours!"
"I'm a doctor."
"Answer the door!"
"Well, he won't get any better that way."
"Fine! I'll just let 'im bleed."
"I'm- I'm covered in his filth! DISGUSTING!"
"Nurse, clean this place up. Let's call it a day. I'm disgusted."
"I've got patients to see, no time for distractions!"
"Not now!"
"That's good genes for you!"
"Amazing… He's dead… And, yet, no girls."
"Well, well, well. This is quite incredible."
"Looks… familiar."
"Oh, god damn it! Someone get the nurse!"
"Well, this could be a little more hygienic."
"I- I try to help, but- sometimes I- I make mistakes… I try to help! But sometimes I- I make mistakes."
"Oh, I like it here. None of that regulation stuff. Always slows things down."
"A doctor has to touch so many filthy things. It's… disgusting!"
"Can't somebody clean this place up? Scrub it down! It's crawling, crawling!"
"I hate the babies, the most. They come out covered in death."
"I push when I should pull. A- a man's entitled to a few mistakes."
"The patients ask so many questions. Sometimes, I like to make up the answers."
"The men all complain about their virility. Well, I can make them soft and sometimes I do.
"Sometimes I forget which pills are which, I go by color."
"The nurses don't like me… they're judgmental."
"There's semen on everything! 'EVERYTHING!"
"It's unsanitary in here, filthy! Come, let me take care of you."
"Don't worry… I'm a professional."
"I won't hurt you. I just want to see what's inside."
"I swore an oath to do no harm, and I… mostly meant it."
"I don't want to hurt you, but sometimes I have to."
"Goddamnit, I needed them to be alive for just a while longer."
"Typical behavior for someone with your condition!"
"It's a standard procedure!"
"I am trying to think here!"
"Oh friend, you've tangled with the wrong people."
Lady Smith
"Go away, I'm tired."
"Darling, is that you?"
"Nothing… just some vandals, I suppose."
"Darling! Come and fix this, it's stuck!"
"My dear elite, no, distinguished friends. I've finally found the answer we've all been looking for!"
"Too introverted for anyone to notice."
"I suppose I could use this. I-I-I might need it, one day, I-"
"Oh, he'll love this. Just adore it!"
"Darling, we need more of these for the show."
"The finest? [Snort] The finest, hardly! Hardly at all."
"We've got to have standards, even in troubled times."
"They always arrive with out-stretched hands. They're a tuneful people, I'll grant you, but so lazy."
"Go on, then! Take your whore and go! But I'm keeping everything, EVERYTHING!"
"Bring a picnic lunch and we'll make a day of it. I just adore the summer time."
"You call that tenderloin? If you serve that in any respectable hotel in New York, they'd laugh you out of town."
"They talk talk talk, but in the end they've got nothing to offer society. Just more mouths to feed."
"She didn't fit in, anyway. I don't care where she's gone."
"Give- me- my- stuff!"
"Don't you disrespect me!"
"You're worthless! You're nothing!"
"How dare you touch me!"
"Watch where you're going, moron!"
"I'll teach you your place!"
"We have rules here!"
"You won't be making any more trouble!"
"Mind your blasted manners!"
"Give those back to me you horrid person!"
"I know what your type is looking for, and you won't get it!"
"You think you can just take what you want? This isn't the jungle!"
"There's proper folk, here. You don't fit in."
"Your kind isn't welcome here."
"I'll send the boy out to give you a good thrashing."
"You'll regret coming here… mark my words."
"It's always the same with you parasites, looking for a hand out."
"Darling, the medicine! I need it now!"
"I'm bleeding! BLEEDING!"
"See what you did to me?! See what you did!"
"I can taste you, and it's disgusting…"

Notes for Submas in Rapture so I can empty my brain
Ingo and Emmet with their passion for trains went down to Rapture with their employer Prentice Mill. They both helped blueprint, engineer, and manage the Atlantic Express trains and railways.
When the Express was sold off, the twins went with it, and despite their attempts at contacting their now former employer to convince him otherwise, they never hear from Mill again.
Around the same time Johnny Topside was hoppin around Rapture, the twins, namely Ingo are put under some scrutiny and allegations, I don't really know what but something bad enough that Ingo got sent to Persephone. Because someone's gotta suffer, right.
Anyway, in his brother's absence, Emmet does his damndest to keep the Atlantic Express running in spite of all the splicers and the literal Civil War going on. But eventually he's chased away
Maybe he joins Atlas's revolution bc hey, what does he have to lose at this point, but eh, it doesn't sit right with me. Then again, that could be how Emmet feels about it too. It just generally doesn't settle well with him, but if there's a way to stick it to Andrew Ryam he'll take it.
Back to Ingo, I imagine he meets a similar fate to Topside, Plasmid Test Dummy turned Alpha Series and bonded to a single Little Sister
And that Little Sister is Akari in my mind. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am a sucker for Pokemon Legends Arceus. And also a sucker for Uncle/Papa Ingo dynamics
I have this scene in my mind where Ingo and Akari are out harvesting ADAM when Emmet sees them and watches them for a bit before realizing this Big Daddy has his brother's mannerisms. It even sounds like a train instead of a whale like the rest (which is also 'cause Ingo's too loud for the BD voicebox so he fucked that up).
Anyways, Emmet immediately makes an assumption and tries to go to Ingo. However, he's still a Big Daddy, one bonded to this little girl.
In my mind, Akari is a special case as a Little Sis, as she's full of curiousity which in the ADAM tainted state of mind means she doesn't see a threat until it hits her and Ingo doesn't hurt anything unless Akari tells him to. Neither of them like it when people get too close though, even if they don't see it as a threat
That is to say Emmet gets pretty damn close before he's pulled away by some of his braver allies. All the while begging for his brother.
Neither Akari or Ingo really hear him, not in their states of mind. But they can see his emotion.
"Who was that, Papa?" Ingo lets out a low whistle. "He looked lonely." Another, higher whistle in agreement. "Maybe the next time we see him, we should say hi! I think he'd like that!" He sighs so softly.
I'd like that too
Back to the storyline, I like to think that Ingo and Akari find Jack after he fell through the vents in an escape from Fontaine, helping Tenenbaum and the other little girls bring him to the Sanctuary
Ingo, seeing all the little girls just being little girls has a moment of clarity, some light through the fog of his mind.
He doesn't want Akari to spend the rest of her life in Rapture.
So he leaves her with Tenenbaum and leaves, both the cure and separation causing him to go into a coma.
The last thing he gives Akari is a hat they had found on their travels that she had him try on. It's a bit big on her head, but she'll grow into it.
Then his little girl is cured and rescued.
Until more little girls go missing around the world and Tenenbaum goes back down to rapture.
Over the eight years of surface life, Akari has been raised by her Uncle Jack and Aunt Brigid, always remembering her dear Papa. She shows interest in the scientific field, so when she's old enough she begins working as an apprentice under her Aunt, learning everything the good doctor does and doesn't teach her
Thanks to her "pursuit of science" mindset she can handle large amounts of grotesque scenery and gore. She has even thought about specializing in Forensic Sciences when she gets the chance
Back to the return, although Tenenbaum insists Akari stays behind, the young girl manages to sneak onto the submersible and didn't get caught until they both had to flee from Splicers
After some reprimanding, Akari stayed with Tenenbaum and their rescued little sisters until Eleanor and Delta come along
Watching her Aunt bring an Alpha Series back to life, it gave the girl hope for her dad
So through more mischief and stubborness, she ends up tagging along with Delta and Sinclair (she calls him Gus, much to his disdain) to head to Persephone. Or in her case, simply to Fontaine Futuristics. If there's anywhere a comatose Alpha Series could be, it's there
At some point, they find Emmet, tug him along, ya know. 'Course, Akari hasn't told him who she is, but she doesn't think that's the best thing to share at the moment
Soon enough they get abducted by Lamb, escape, rescue Ingo and Gus, get outta Rapture via lifeboat and dozens of children, and all live happy on the surface
#submas#bioshock#opening my skull and dumping all of these out from it#i also have another idea where Emmet just really wants to see if you can splice a spider or tarantula#eels and crabs too#but mainly various arachnids#'Emmet I don't thing there are needles small enough to safely administer ADAM into a spider'#'I am Emmet! They should get to working on that then!'#anyways that's nighty night for me#gnight

relationship hcs ; julie langford
requested by ; anonymous (20/05/23)
fandom(s) ; bioshock
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; julie langford
outline ; “Thank you for adding Bioshock to your fandoms!! Could I please request relationship hcs for Julie Langford with an assistant!reader (if you could include details from both before and after the fall of Rapture that would be amazing!). And also general smut hcs please? (I'm over 18). I love her so much 🥹”
note ; haven’t written for this fandom so this might have some shaky characterisation
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
you first met when you were referred to her as an assistant due to your skills in botany and clear passion for the sciences — all of which made you a very appealing candidate for rapture, even if your economic background didn’t immediately match with most of the doctor’s peers
initially she just had you doing odd jobs around arcadia and her lab — moving and organising paperwork, setting up meetings, ordering raw materials for delivery, and fetching equipment for her between stations — but eventually, as the two of you spent more and more time together, you started to actually bond
started to talk about more than just work and science, joking around and making sure each other are safe, ranting about the limitations put on you, and even briefly mentioning things about your past before you came to rapture
beginning to actually like each other as people and, as a result, starting to work together much better as a team and produce better results for ryan — which was a double edged sword as those results ended up leading to arcadia and the oxygen produced becoming privatised
and you were the only person she could honestly complain about it to without the fear of repercussions or punishment, which led to you becoming even closer
closer and closer until you’re more than just friends but neither of you care to put a label on what you are beyond that — conveying your feelings through shared looks and late nights spent dancing through arcadia and quiet conversations and early mornings spent laughing and working and being that ‘something more’ together
she even makes a point to plant your favourite flowers around the arcadia gardens so that you always feel at home — able to name each and every flower off by heart without any prompting from you (even if she passes it off as common knowledge when you ask — when both of you know that’s not true)
but you don’t ever say the words — not when she kisses you on the cheek when you leave the lab for the night, not when you’re alone in the gardens and you can’t help but notice how beautiful she looks when she smiles, not when you’re laying in bed together after a night of passion and you’re carefully taking her glasses off and placing them on her nightstand, and not even when rapture starts to fall
neither of you ever say ‘i love you’ but you both show it — you’re both protective, both honest, both open, both reassuring
and after rapture finally falls, you show it even more distinctly and fiercely than before
you help her travel back to her office near arcadia and help her procure adam for her lazarus project — sharing in her passion and enthusiasm throughout it all
she protects you from splicers and actively destroys or trades samples of adam to keep you safe if she feels you’re being hunted by saturnine
she touches you much more gently every time she leaves your sight, kissing your forehead and promising that this time she’ll make the final breakthrough and then you can go back to the life you’d managed to scrape together as a ‘not-quite-couple’ couple
and when she’s finally killed by ryan, suffocated on toxic gas, she makes sure that the people that found her are able to pass on letter to you that she’d kept in her safe for all of those years — a way out of rapture, enough money to keep you floating once you’re free, and those three words that she’d never said and never needed to say along with something else
‘live for me’

ANOTHER AU.
Welcome to the Spliced AU!! This time this one is not derivative of DTDF (shocker). I still will not be using “canon” Fuse for this though. This time we get a glimpse at good ol’ Dr. Orion, but not the one who did the heinous crimes in his past.
Hold on actually let me explain/lay out all of the Fuse’s
DTDF Fuse! Aka Fuchsia Orion. A classic. Your lovely murderous god-fused doctor!
Dr. Orion! DTDF Fuse but he stopped being the shittiest person alive and is constantly haunted by what he’s done. If he could do anything to reverse what he’s done, he would.
Swap!Fuse! Dr. Fuse, but his personality is swapped with Moro aka Ice Type Mikey. Was heavily abused/tortured by old colleagues for the sake of research. Has some mismatched limbs :)
Splintered Fuse! DTDF Fuse in hell forever and ever <333333
“Canon” Fuse. Dead.
In the Spliced AU, we see a Dr. Orion who is genuinely just trying to research Pokémon fusions in a healthy way and not trying to kill anyone/hasn’t killed anyone in his life. His personality is a mixture of the original Dr. Orion and Swap!Fuse. ANYWAYS!!!!
The AU!!!! Dr. Orion gets a little too curious about experimenting on himself, and wonders what would happen if he used a DNA splicer on himself despite him never experimenting with humans before. Lo and behold, this splits him into two different people, with two different physical bodies. One is a more manic, peppy Orion, the other is a more mellow, yet brooding Orion. I think he could be spliced into more people, but for now I want to keep it at 2.
This was very much inspired by the UT fansong Dr. Gaster a teehee :3c
Not sure what/how much I’ll do with this AU but I just wanted to throw the idea out there :)

Did something I haven’t done in a hot minute and re-read the first draft of the goddamn BioShock fanfic.
Guys, it wasn’t that bad. The first chapter was merely okay because 2010 was right where I began figuring out How Not to Purple. The rest of it was fucking great--sans the Sinclair bit, where I got his voice so wrong I started crying a little. When I ended the fanfic, it was with my hands out going Why Did U End There? How dare you not finish, you piece of shit. I want to finish this. Come back here you fucking coward.
It’s interesting what I gained and lost as I wrote. The Gains: more technical prowess, more brainstorming, more complex society, better Plasmid use in the background, improved character voices for everyone, better understanding of history and certain technological and environmental constraints. The Losses: I became a little less creative and a little more rote (fewer neat callbacks, visual gags, use of environmental limitations); the tone got more and more miserable. As to the tone, I think this was a problem of Life in General, which at the time was kicking my face in. (As opposed to now, when life is merely curb-stomping me, but I’m used to it now. When you’re a human pudding it stops hurting.) My Johnny Topside is the cutest sweetest nicest guy--EVEN WHEN HE’S BEING FUCKING TORTURED, a thing I didn’t expect to click, but totally did. Good job past me, good fucking job, let’s see if I can reclaim that shit.
Also, bonus points for my Grace Holloway, who I had COMPLETELY forgotten I had written. She is *chef’s kiss*. I’m definitely reusing some of that scene in the future. Which one? This one.
Delta swung Holloway’s door into the doorframe. He had nearly broken it in half. It was with consternation that he watched the door slowly slide through the frame and fall on its face in the hallway. One of the last slinking Splicers jumped and skittered down the stairs.
“Leave it,” said Holloway. “I’ll fix it somehow.”
“Haoooo?” Delta asked, pointing down the hallway.
“Sofia Lamb told them to listen to me,” she said. “And Doctor Lamb controls the ADAM. They do what she says–so they do what I say. And I say they can’t come into my house.”
#storysnob#bioshock#now I have to finish it#I have to finish Saya too but holy shit#the good thing about working on this is that there's no way I won't be able to finish Saya afterward#getting obsessed with another piece of writing inevitably clears the cache for other writings#I'm also going to finish Morrowind properly and finish Mud-on-Her-Face#I'll do it on stream so that I have records of my adventures for later

We have so many planned that we haven’t even started writing yet lol but “plots please!” For any of the ships/dynamics we have going on across all my blogs.
OMG YES. I have to respond to a few but man, I'm eager to start introducing OCs to the dynamic.
The hulked-out Frankenstein's monster Freak, the cyber asshole Creep, the fine feathered Spinosaurus Geotrix, the psycho Dr. Splicer and possibly soon a new Plague Doctor OC who loves Carnevale and the legend of Poveglia Island in Italy.
And definitely more with Ichabod. And I'm having ideas for a villain OC loosely inspired by Springtrap but he'd be a cat instead. Maybe someone Alice in Wonderland themed (yeah I know toooootally original. X3)

Loving the reblog thoughts, always a hoot to see Blastweave ideas on stuff! The splicer thing specifically always tickles me cos I think the idea is that it took till Beyond to have it like, halfway commercially viable and predictable formulae after decades of any significantly skilled and power mad zoologist deciding to seize the power of anthro. If I ever get around to a fic for Batman or something I want to have a Man-bat/Orca feud academically where both are criticising the other's method of splicing. (Both aren't fans of the werewolf lad or the werecat mad doctor from BTAS but only cos of their research methods)
Also I know its wrong company but I love that there's a Marvel heroine whose backstory is she were in a wheelchair and decided to intern for Dr Curt "Oh No I Turned Myself into a Lizard again..." Connors just so she could nick his notes.
Now one thing I find really stylistically interesting about Batman Beyond, is that a lot of the mechanisms by which the supervillians do their thing come part-and-parcel with the cyberpunk setting, rather than being an aberration resulting purely from the superheroic genre elements. This is the future of a quote-unquote "present-day" DCU, meaning that they've superficially addressed the question of why all the cutting-edge supertech used in the cape scene never seems to see mass adoption by the civilian sector- forty years later, it has. This means that It's never hard to grok where any given villain is getting the resources necessary to execute their gimmick; these people are flashy by our standards, but they live in a world where everyone has access to flying cars and antigravity drones. Half these people are doing the cyberpunk equivalent of going killdozer with repurposed industrial equipment, or kludging together something with off-the-shelf stuff from radio shack, or mounting a machine gun on a technical truck, and literally in the middle of typing this sentence I started the episode where there's mass-market off-the-shelf animal gene-splicing that would have been a whole-ass individualized origin story in the time of Batman: The Animated Series. Even one-off mutants like Inque and Blight are well-understood within the context of the setting, to the extent of Inque being able to make a knockoff of herself on the go.
This is dystopic. Beyond the genre-typical surface-level megacorp domination of society it's dystopic. On the meta-level it's the same dynamic as Superman: The Animated Series, where the reason there's a sudden uptick in weird costumed crime concurrent with the protagonist's debut is purely Doylistic- the hero needs punching bags. But within the logic of the setting, there's nothing special about Willy Watt's decision to go full Carrie using a hijacked construction robot besides the fact that he had somewhat easier access to the thing than the average school-shooter. Spellbinder being able to put together functional illusion-and-mind-control tech on a high-school counselor's salary- when his entire complaint is that he isn't being paid enough- implies that the main barrier to anyone else pulling the same brainwashing stunt is that nobody else thought to. Shriek's sound suit might be more a more roundabout demolition tool than dynamite, but it's still powerful enough to bring down buildings and he created it as a fly-by-night contractor. The consumer tech base is evolved to the point that regardless of when Batman shows up, shit like this should literally never not be happening- they're past an inflection point. I remember Syndrome from The Incredibles having some kind of line about this
