i think if i were going to do a no-powers-au of young justice i would make m'gann black but like really reallyyyyyyy lightskin so we can keep at least a little of the whole "white martians being discriminated against" lore because yeah she can "pass" (maybe shes mixed or smt here idk) but she is still a black woman and if people know that she might be discriminated against so she hides it then she has her whole thing about accepting who she is like in the show. also she has like 4c hair texture that she mangles with a hair straightener and frys it with red hair dye anytime she sees her roots and instead of showing her white martian form she shows her natural hair. and also conner and her are still in love and he trys to learn how to braid hair for her but right when he almost has it down she goes bald because her hair was super damaged and she needs to start fresh but she does like the look so its cool. but like. idk i feel like it was such a heavy plot for her talking about the racism she faced on mars and how she hid stuff about herself because of it that you cant just erase it in a no powers au without taking alot of depth from her and her relationships with other characters (specifically conner) so this is an obvious stand in

i know you've already confirmed doing minor what ifs, but have you ever planned or thought of doing a longer one for a happy ending?

(im sorry for asking but these two make me mentally ill in the best way posible. )

The what ifs will be pretty well sized so hopefully they'll scratch the itch for y'all. My goal with the ending is also to make it kind of optimistic to empower other folks who want to write fanfic to give it a shot and make their own content too. I just love the idea of being able to make a positive impact with this story and to embolden others to let their own creativity run free. Plus I'd be cheering if there was a list of "works inspired by" that could sit at the end of the story when it's finished. That way the story (that a lot of people seem to really dig) can live on in everyone's interpretations of it!

Honestly, you don't even need DVDs at this stage in the digital age: there are plenty of places to watch movies, shows and more for free these days.

YouTube is one of those that are subscription optional; as is Rakuten Viki for those of us who watch live action from other countries/cultures (viki is an interesting if ancient site for language learning and more that started out as a fan-subbing community; and became popular enough that in recent years it was picked up by Rakuten.) Add in other sites like it including 9anime and more? We are not going to run out of options anytime soon lol.

hello!!! top five movies/shows? <3

hello okay so i watch far too much tv and movies so this was hard to narrow down, and definitely an ever changing list so atm in no particular order:

tv shows:

leverage & leverage: redemption - the shows of all time!! basically thieves stealing and terrorizing the rich for justice, highly recommend

the boys - its a dark gory satirical take on superheroes; really intense and messy and complex and i love it so much (i also really enjoyed the spin off (gen v))

the umbrella academy - i started rewatching recently (hence why i even wrote that au). anyways another superhero show, very chaotic and angsty but fun and such a good show!

a league of their own (2022) - i just think women. basically. thats all. im filing complaints with amazon as we speak because this deserved more seasons 😭

bob's burgers - this is easily one of my comfort shows, ive lost count of how often i watch it

movies, these are all ones ive watched within this year more or less:

spider-verse 1 & 2 - beautiful animation, great story, great characters!!! it truly has it all

everything everywhere all at once - its just SO good and overall so visually stunning!!! i may have cried each time i watch it but its fine

the saw franchise - im a huge horror fan but this was the one franchise ive always avoided, but i finally watched the movies for the first time and wow??? its such a great series, definitely a new fave but will not be rewatching that often because it did make me squeamish

abigail - one of my most recent watches and i personally really enjoyed it, some people got mad that the trailer spoiled the twist but said twist happens quite early on and theres more going on after so lol

bottoms - honestly this one was just so ???? idk its absurd and hilarious and a good time 10/10 would recommend

Ayo my mom's already asking me what I want for my birthday and I wasn't considering getting anything cuz my original plan was to get a name change for my birthday (but that's not gonna work out) and since I probably won't be home for my birthday, I feel like I should ask for something, but I don't really know what. So like, does anyone know any good DS/3DS or Switch games I could ask for, since if I will be out of state I can only bring those systems with me. I prefer jrpgs over pretty much everything if that helps.

Interesting to see USAmericans reacting to a (good) Spanish movie in its original version with subtitles, and say the characters were "so believable". In too many US productions, the characters are written around stereotypical traits so the audience can relate to one or another. But if you want good characters, you write people, not traits. Unless one trait is the entire character's personality of course. But even that should be less common than what you find in US productions.
