Honestly, you don't even need DVDs at this stage in the digital age: there are plenty of places to watch movies, shows and more for free these days.
YouTube is one of those that are subscription optional; as is Rakuten Viki for those of us who watch live action from other countries/cultures (viki is an interesting if ancient site for language learning and more that started out as a fan-subbing community; and became popular enough that in recent years it was picked up by Rakuten.) Add in other sites like it including 9anime and more? We are not going to run out of options anytime soon lol.
Also tags, cause there's more to youtube in particular in that regard than meets the eye..
#wga strike#yeah.. between fanfiction; libraries; and the fact there are host sites like the above?#not gonna be an issue#you can watch a lot of movies for free on youtube tho#the sub only removes ads if I recall#which; eh kinda worth it#plus you can rent movies for fairly cheap there#OR buy them outright on YT so you have permanent access which: a lot of people forget you can do#I did that with a lot of hiddleston's shows and movies actually#Night Manager#only lovers left alive#and every MCU film up to endgame#along with quite a few others#doesn't have to be something brand new to watch#if it's new to you well..#there's a lot of that around; in every country really#and almost all of it is available on the web somewhere these days#I've been watching a lot of korean; japanese and chinese dramas lately#and anime lol#like In/Spectre; Doctor Stone S2; and a handful of others#if anyone wants any recs outside of YT feel free to send me an ask or @ me in comments btw
