Perception Is Divination
Since what we experience as reality is a subjective assemblage combining predictive hallucinations and post hoc mathematical reconstructions compiled from a set of limited sensory impressions, how can we state that anything that we experience is, in fact, real?
And if all we have regarding comprehension is limited to our subjective experience and interpretation  of data received and processed in this way, can we even begin to say what reality is?
Reality is inferred, but never clearly perceived through the warped window of our senses. Science supplements our senses and makes postulations, philosophy argues its meaning and meaninglessness, and religion shackles the mind to a raft of holy assertions, yet none of them comes any closer to the truth.
Some say there is no truth, that there is no fixed reality, and that paradox is proof that truth is unstable at best and non existent at worst. This is not to say that science doesn’t work or that philosophy is without value, or that religion, or constructs like it, are without practical importance regarding social cohesion and indoctrination. But we have learned that our perceptions are predictive hallucinations showing us only what they predict should be there based on causal conditioning.
It’s all a projection and time and space have little meaning outside of our experience of it.
The interface theory of perception tells us that spacetime, and everything that we see in it, including ourselves, is a projection of our brains, like the desktop interface of an unfathomable computer.
Are then our brains, as we can see and experience them, projections of something else? Is not then all that we can experience thus? Perception’s purpose, we know, is to drive behavior according to fitness based imperatives and truth has nothing to do with it.
These projections that we experience as reality do not show us truth, nor are they meant to. They are only purposeful hallucinations. Useful mirages meant to drive optimal fitness behaviors that were developed by evolutionary pressures in the ancestral environment.
Our perceptions do not show us truth. Nor are they meant to because, in biological terms, truth isn’t useful. And studies using powerful supercomputers have demonstrated that organisms that see truth vs. organisms that perceive according to fitness behaviors have stunningly short life spans. And so all of reality as we can know it is an illusion and some think it may even be a simulation. An idea not far from gnostic cosmological conceptions if you consider this simulation a matrix-style prison of shared hallucinations and individual dreams.
We know brains only show us a prediction of a moment that has already passed. And what we see is only a post hoc reconstruction of a 3D cross section of 4D matter enfolded in approximately 7 more dimensions.
What this tells us is that perception is identical to divination and that things like Runes, Tarot, and I Ching augment our brains' predictive capabilities. In fact, many non-standard methods can be devised that behave in similar ways. They do so because our brains are hot, wet quantum computers that operate through entanglement and probability, seizing on the resonance of patterns and constantly seeking meaning in the noise of existence.
Our brains create patterns where there are none and reality behaves as if they are there. It is the basis of all magic in a sense, and it is how quantum states of superposition collapse as if the subatomic particles involved somehow know that we are going to observe them before we actually do.
It would seem that consciousness predicts the Universe while the Universe predicts us. Mind and matter are the same stuff. Soul and substance are the same thing and reality is the divination of yourself.

Slow down for a moment. Allow your heart to guide you, to tell you if there is really a message here for you and in which pile it hides... And whatever the answer is, feel free to listen to it or to let go. Remembering that whenever you will be ready or will have the need, your true message will find its way to you.♡

When they see you, when they look at you... They see the strength of someone who keeps trying, even when every part of them is so tired and consumed. They see the eyes of someone who got through it all, but that still tries to calm down that resentful voice that can't but highlight the worst now in this world... They see someone that tries its best to remain the same gentle and loving soul. While feeling the shift in each part of you that tries to face it all, by becoming rigid and unfazed by all the challenges that you are forced to endure. They see someone who is worthy of that love, affection, and serenity that slowly but finally is flowing in your life again...But they see also someone that can't win completely against their hurt and tortured heart that keeps seeing the danger in disguise in every moment... And they truly would like to help that precious and poor soul of yours. Help you to remember that there is more, that there isn't only darkness, loneliness and cold. And that you deserve a chance to live and feel it. You deserve much much more.

They see in you the version of them that they already lost. The reflection of what they once so ardently desired to be, to appear in this world. That strength and courage in learning, from others, from your own self, in seeing not only the hurt and bad in this world, but also all the other beautiful things that can grow from those. Transforming a wound, remains of a destroyed love or dream, in a new beginning, in gained knowledge, in the strength to live for more. They look at you and they are mesmerized, overwhelmed with admiration for you but also regret and judgment for themselves. For the moment they stopped to look around for more convinced that everything that there is - is not worthy anymore. It might not look like it... But every moment with you, every word you speak... It's gentle but still a hard to swallow pill for them about how there was indeed a different way of coming out of all those challenges and nightmares. That there was, there is, still something to live and fight for.

just thinking out loud here but i feel like a lot of popular perception of kon esp in online fandom spaces is colored by his joie de vivre and all the times he's silly and goofy. which i do of course adore!! i love when he's silly and goofy. but comparing that perception to, that of like, clark or kara, i feel like kon gets shunted into the box of "dumb comic relief character" a lot more easily. lots of factors probably contribute to that (sb94 having a bad rep, while no other kon comic really goes into a lot of his tragedy; conflation with the side of the fandom that doesn't read comics; the fact that comparatively postcrisis kara doesn't have a team the way kon has yj and clark is seen as a more capable adult, so other characters in the jl get the "dumb comic relief" short end of the stick more often; etc) ...
... but what really gets me about him is that he does embody a lot of the same traits as the rest of the kryptonian superfam. he's so extremely kind. he's got that same noble heart as the rest of them; he cares about everyone and he wants to protect everyone. and he's so, so lonely. he struggles between cultures and worlds where he feels like he doesn't belong to either. he is so strong and capable and holds so much power that it scares him.
cradles him gently in my hands. he contains multitudes... come closer don't you want to love him 🥺

What rose and iris and carnation so intensely signified was nothing more, and nothing less, than what they were — a transience that was yet eternal life, a perpetual perishing that was at the same time pure Being, a bundle of minute, unique particulars in which, by some unspeakable and yet self-evident paradox, was to be seen the divine source of all existence.

really been thinkin of fuli and aha's like... relationship in the divinity au. and very pumped to write the fuli's pseudo-shakespearean type a dialogue.
cuz im like. i have Thoughts. of fuli and aha not liking each other and having beef w like fuli very clearly lookin down on aha's recklessness and lack of forsight and aha thinking of fuli as stiff and boring. but also im drawing parallels between em heavily in that both their paths are heavily centered around mortal beings. w elations being like. Moreso. but fuli is deeply imbedded in mortals too due to their memories and shit.
like idk i like the idea of em being opposites due to their similarities. and also having beef.

This golden light that dances upon the leaves..

YES, I know, this is nothing but thy love, O beloved of my heart-this golden light that dances upon the leaves, these idle clouds sailing across the sky, this passing breeze leaving its coolness upon my forehead.
The morning light has flooded my eyes-this is thy message to my heart. Thy face is bent from above, thy eyes look down on my eyes, and my heart has touched thy feet.

“The Self is really a collection of several distinct neural networks, all existing simultaneously within the landscape of your brain. So if there are different versions of yourself, floating around inside your skull, which one is the real you?”
The thing is, all of them are you. But beneath it all, the real self is the one who puts on the various masks and costumes, while remaining whole and perfect beyond your perception. The task becomes to integrate all the parts of yourself, by accepting and embracing that all of them are versions of you — even the ones that contradict themselves.
Reality really is what you perceive it to be, your subjective worldview is intricately influenced by the objective reality, which in turn is how you continue to create your own. You are the world within the world. And you are here to fully embody all that you are, be shamelessly authentic in order to align your reality to the one you truly desire — the reality that only you, with all your unique traits and experiences could create.
Authenticity is accepting your multidimensional self — that who you are cannot be labelled and fit into distinct categories.. When you are a microcosm of the whole universe in this tiny human form.
You get to choose who you choose to show up as. This time around, choose to show up as your whole divinely magnificent Self.

I'm so peeved that literally every aspect of the Gerudo in BOTW/TOTK serves to make me mad bc I love the Gerudo desert and I think that some of the most interesting NPCs to speak to are Gerudo.........alas
#august.chr#trying my damndest to piece together a BOTW/TOTK timeline bc I dont believe for an instant that the divine beasts are 10k years old#and i'm scraping my brain trying to think if any cutscenes from pre-calamity mention the ban on voe in the city#bc i'm trying to justify an in-universe reason why the gerudo would implement such a policy#given you know. they're a trading city. and banning men. means banning half of all possible trade partners.#my best guess is that the gerudo were always somewhat isolationist but were much more lenient#until the calamity hit and the gerudo faced serious damages from ganon's destruction and vah naboris causing sandstorms for a while#in the turmoil the gerudo banned visitation but after enough years it became obvious that this was destroying the city's economy#so they opened the gates back up but only to women. because the gerudos' need to find men to sustain their population in combination with#the new Inaccessability of gerudo women invited a rather predatory type of crowd. so this discriminatory gate system was an attempt to cull#this behavior. but it only made it worse because it just cemented gerudo women in the cultural perception as hard to get and Foreign#<-(aka Interesting skeevy edition)#so to the gerudo opening the gates means the not unlikely possibility of inviting harassment from scummy guys but not opening the gate will#never allow this terrible dynamic to heal. and instead of trying to forge a healthier relationship with dating for gerudo women#the gerudo have leaned into this gender seperationist ideal. as seen with mattison and the whole culture of removing young gerudo girls from#their fathers and the kingdom of hyrule at large in favor of staying in gerudo town#anyways sorry i hate the gerudo's worldbuilding but i actively hate the fan approaches to make it Woke Gender Essentialism more#it's literally not better if you go 'well the gerudo would let trans women into town if they just claimed to be women' like.#no they wouldn't. they let link into town in the gerudo vai fit because he passes as a woman in the outfit. if he changes clothes in town he#stops passing and they kick him out.#gerudo town is literally TERF city it's a city where a society of women have isolated themselves and banned men from interacting and will#only allow women they subjectively deem to be Womanly Enough to enter their gates#and teach young gerudo girls that men are dangerous and that they have to grow up in gerudo town until they come of age. like it's literally#a law that gerudo diaspora have to move to gerudo town before puberty#anyways sorry this is like the third time in the past 2 years i've drafted a post about how i think the gerudo's worldbuilding#is both illogical and abusive to the gerudo growing up in it. but illogical and abusive does not make for unrealistic worldbuilding either#so i want to find a way to work within its confines while also complaining loudly about it the entire time

Following Boehme and William Law, we may say that, by unregenerate souls, the divine Light at its full blaze can be apprehended only as a burning, purgatorial fire. An almost identical doctrine is to be found in The Tibetan Book of the Dead, where the departed soul is described as shrinking in agony from the Pure Light of the Void, and even from the lesser, tempered Lights, in order to rush headlong into the comforting darkness of selfhood as a reborn human being, or even as a beast, an unhappy ghost, a denizen of hell. Anything rather than the burning brightness of unmitigated Reality — anything!

Change is a pain, isn't it?
I find it funny that everything in existence is inseparable from change, yet we resist it. I'm not speaking from a high horse here; I struggle to deal with change just as much as everyone else.
A family or friend passes away, and we wish we could have them back; you break up with your SO, and you wish you could go back to the way things used to be; you crash your car and break your leg to the point that you'll never walk the same and hate yourself for making that choice. All of these situations suck ass. They're horrible, and the pain you feel from being stuck in a situation is the worst. But the truth is that it's no different than taking a step forward after standing still. The only factor that makes it different is how we approach those situations.
I wrote a post about a weird near-death experience I had, which started something for me. I realized that the answer to change is simply acceptance. When I accepted life every moment, nothing became totally unbearable anymore. When my dog passed, I was broken and cried non-stop for days. But in my heart, I accepted it was just how it was, and I could heal quickly. I was broken, but I didn't want to go back. I didn't want to possess a moment, a person, or an animal but simply appreciate its existence and my participation in it. Thanks to learning immediate acceptance, I felt like I always healed faster than others. It feels like a shortcut to the grieving cycle.
I still struggle to accept change sometimes, but I always return to the same thought: If I can accept it, it will be fine.
