dionysus cabin headcanons

children of dionysus

• HUGE theater kids.

• being highly emotional, wine children make great actors.

• they throw the best parties.

• they have extra beds in their cabin for people who pass out and can't handle their liquor.

• when one of them is upset, others around them get upset too, due to dionysus having influence on the mind.

• they hate the indoors and prefer open spaces.

• even when sober, they can't pass a breathalyzer test because they naturally have the scent of wine on them.

• they are all great cooks and know which wine to pair with each meal.

• they are all very good at directions and are rarely lost (a blessing from their stepmother).

• gender fluidity is common with dionysus kids.

• they all have thick, curly hair and strange color eyes.

• they are prone to depression and anger and are often bipolar.

• daughters of dionysus are rare so they are as powerful as big three kids (canon in the myths).

• they are harder to charmspeak due to their connection with the states of mind.

• arguments last for months because anger runs in their blood and the wine influence makes it worse.

• when they’re sad, they can make vines wilt by just looking at them.

• on very rare occasions, wine children can be born with the ability to affect another's mental state temporarily.

• this ability makes them feared by many, because they can cause hysteria and hallucinations, but they are also sought out by some suffering from depression or anxiety to help relax them.

• they get really thirsty really easily. they always have a bottle of water on hand.

• they are able to recognize all kinds of alcohol with just a sniff, but they all hate wine-tasting.

• they can automatically tell if a beverage has been tampered with, laced with something unwanted or if the ingredients used to make said alcohol are not safe for consumption.

cabin exterior

• the cabin is draped in grapevines and ivy, with the plants growing in a seemingly chaotic yet aesthetically pleasing manner.

• the exterior features vibrant and rich colors like deep purples, greens, and golds. they are reminiscent of a vineyard in full bloom.

• their cabin has a rustic, almost ancient greek villa vibe, with wooden beams, stone walls, and terracotta roof tiles.

• strings of fairy lights, lanterns, and other festive decorations hang around the cabin, creating a lively, celebratory atmosphere even when there's no party.

• comfortable outdoor furniture like hammocks, cushioned chairs, and wooden benches are scattered around for lounging and socializing.

• the doors in their cabin occasionally change colors and vines tend to move on their own.

cabin interior

• their cabin is almost entirely purple on the inside, which makes everything a little bit dark and dramatic. it's also usually very cool and damp inside- the perfect climate for storing wine.

• plush, comfortable furniture in rich fabrics and colors create a cozy yet opulent atmosphere. think velvet couches, silk cushions, and ornate rugs.

• they have a central bar area with stools and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks (and a secret stash of wine). nearby, they have a lounge area with low tables, bean bags, and cozy chairs for socializing and relaxing.

• soft, warm lighting from chandeliers, lanterns, and fairy lights create a magical, inviting ambiance. there are also be candles and fireflies in glass jars scattered around.

• the interior also features plenty of natural elements, like potted plants, hanging vines, and flowers. some walls might even have living plants growing on them.

• decorations include garlands, streamers, and masks hanging from the walls and the ceiling, giving the cabin a perpetual party vibe.

• the walls are adorned with art pieces, ranging from classical paintings to more whimsical, modern interpretations of dionysian myths. sculptures of satyrs, nymphs, and other mythological creatures are scattered around the cabin.

cabin traditions

• when a child of dionysus falls in love, it's a cabin tradition that they give their partner a hideous leopard print shirt.

• they put on regular plays, improv sessions, or storytelling nights, often featuring greek and roman myths and tales related to their father.

• new wine children undergo a playful initiation rite, involving a series of fun challenges and games, ending with a toast (with grape juice) welcoming them into the cabin.

• inspired by traditional wine-making, they hold an annual grape-crushing competition, with teams competing to crush the most grapes by stomping on them, followed by a big party to celebrate.

i like to think that the Dionysus kids at camp are treated like camp wide counselors bc of their relation to Mr. D. kids will come up to one of them and ask them questions, complain about activity scheduling, crying bc they miss their mortal parent, etc etc. and the Mr. D kids are like, i just live here? why are you coming to me with this? i’m not qualified to deal with tears and infighting within cabins?

what they don’t know is that Mr. D encourages it so that he has less bratty kids to deal with.

The cabin with the closest siblings in my opinion

I feel like Mr. D would only have 2-4 demigods at a time

So that leads to them being super close

They all tend to have the same features of curly hair and purple eyes

A dead giveaway to who is their parent

They would all tend to be on the bigger side

Not that they are not strong, they are 

But they would not have the typical Greek god look

Their beauty would be intoxicating though

Like the type of beauty where it’s obvious god is real because it’s not fair

Best hair in camp tbh

Also, Mr. D claiming them would be totally different from his usual trick with demigods and trying to get wine

Just straight up points at them and announces that they are his spawn 

Some are the typical party-lover extroverts who can make friends with anyone and everyone

Then there are the theatre lovers introverts who have a close group of friends but when it comes time for the play of the summer they give the best performance that the camp would ever see

Mr. D def makes the camp do plays

He is the god of wine and theatre and can’t have wine

Would force the campers to do theatre to make them just as unhappy as he is

Big English teacher making students read Shakespeare vibes from him

Not Drama teacher vibes

But no matter what kind of kid they are, they would totally memorize Hamilton to spit the Hermes cabin

Because Hermes is Lin-Manuel Miranda 

They are rolling with the LGBT+

Whether queer themselves or the biggest ally ever

They are also the campers who give the best advice and the type of friends who are always the go-to shoulder to cry on

They are the Camp therapists. Let's be real

I feel like they would get along best with the Demeter, Apollo, and Aphrodite cabins

They have the best relationship with their godly parent

Because no one can convince me that Dionysus doesn’t love his children 

I feel like they would either have a horrible sense of direction or the best because of Ariadne

Addiction gene goes hard

Might not be to a substance, but they all definitely have that one thing they can’t live without

Especially have one drink that they love

I like to think that they all have a thirst that can’t be quenched unless it’s with that one drink

Also, they have the best or worst palates ever

Like that one person who only eats chicken nuggets and fries or the one who will eat everything and be a snob about it

They are cat people, not dog

Would definitely be responsible for the export of Strawberries 

Bec even if the Demeter cabins help, when a Dionysus kid grows the strawberries it is hard to stop eating them

The most unserious counsellors in camp

Would definitely take a bribe not to report something 

Because their dad ain't going to do shit in punishing them

Chiron might tho

Also, the worst people to play cards with

They def cheat and win 

But if they are not winning they become the biggest sore losers 

Uno is banned in the cabin for sure

Dionysus demigods are the best for the reason of not having daddy issues in a camp where everyone has daddy issues in some way

They can’t shit-talk their dad

I also think most of them get to camp at a young age and are probably not year around campers

But the ones who are year around make sure that camp, during the off-season, is hospitable 

Would probably team up with the Hermes cabin to sneak in movies and mortal world media 

They plan the best parties for the campers

They are the type to join a cult and end up becoming the leader

Dionysus campers are often overlooked but I just feel like they would be the backbone of camp

Guys I do badly want Billy and Bernard to interact it’s not even funny.

You cannot tell me that Billy, The God’s Champion, Batson and Bernard, nearly became a human vessel for Dionysus, Dowd, wouldn’t feel a kinship with one another over their weird relationships with the Greek Pantheon

Also also also also, I really want Bernard and Freddie to share theories they used to believe in about superhero’s. Tim could also join in with his past stalkerish tendencies, it would be like family bonding, but for autistic boys with troubled home lives.

Honestly I just want any fic where either Bernard or Billy interact with either eachother or other DC characters with relations to Gods or Cults
