22,222 men came - How do you write this number in Arabic?
Tumblr media
Numbers in Arabic are like solving mathematical puzzles. If you like logical games, this is perfect for you. In the end it just comes down to two major steps.

i had a vague idea last night on chiss space-traveling system. it's really just an idea and maybe it breaks the existing lore so. if there's any chiss expert here PLEASE tell me if it's something that could exist because i wanna know if i can put it to use in my story
i know they use force sensitives with that third sight power, but like. idk. i understand that they are trained and sometimes they fail but like that's SO complex. you're traveling faster than light - you can have jedi like reflexes and shit but that's still hard af.
so i was imagining (because lately I've been trying to better understand chiss lore, which i LOVEEE) wouldn't it be easier if there were like some stations in between planets, especially important colonies, to allow the force sensitives to have to navigate between smaller points, and not completely in the dark?
idk if any of you know sky: children of the light's trial of fire, so here's the link (skip the intro part). now imagine that instead of the checkpoints with rocks and candles you have little artifical moons/planets/asteroids (depending on how important that station is), and force sensitives are supposed to reach that and then re orientate etc.
BUT to make it cooler and most importantly, easier to sense for the force sensitives, imagine that those artificial ecosystem are made to be inhabited by different creatures that can't stay on their planet of origin (like. maybe because the environment changed and they are endangered, or they're too dangerous so they like. put them there). so they're full of life. they'd be like lit candles in the dark, literally.
THIS CAME TO ME BECAUSE TWO WEEKS AGO I SAW SUCH A COOL VIDEO (a 12 hour analysis of the phantom menace that's like. so fucking well-researched??? considering its length it's impressive really, so here's the link) that spoke (at 1:19:22) about that Boss Nass's phrase about going through Naboo's planet core. But to synthetize: basically in the lore, Naboo is supposed to lack a molten core, and at the center of the planet, plasma is being emitted, and it creates infinite tunnels that can connect even theed and otho gunga. but besides other worldbuilding problems that this rather absurd idea would create - that i won't recap here - in the video, there are some ideas on how to make it make sense (like. "going through the planet core" is simply a figure of speech and not what actually happened), BUT between those, there is one in particular that struck me: at 1:30:40, he proposed Naboo could be a constructed planet - like a planet-aquarium.
then, the video explains why it can't be the case for naboo but. GUYS!! if there's a species that could pull off something like that it's the chiss, with their sense of order, their need for knowledge, and organization abilities.
the maintenance of these stations with particular ecosystems could then be left at the nearest colony of csilla (kinda like the romans delegated the maintenance of their streets to each town it crossed and benefitted off of it), and be used as a "lighthouse" for new sky-walkers to train their third sight. researchers would benefit from keeping these animals alive + they could be kept in various different scenarios depending on how the specific station is made. if it's big enough, those creatures wouldn't be even captive, in a certain sense. especially since these stations need to be big enough (and full of life) to be perceived by the force sensitives, they'd just become replicas of the planet, where researchers, even in the creation of such stations, can really have a boost on their understanding of those ecosystems, through the feedbacks and experiments on the stations.
i have made a few sketches to visualize the idea
Tumblr media
(ugly quality and poor rendition ops. in my defense it was late)
i know i wrote A LOT and prob not many will read this BUT if you've come this far, what do you think?

Is there a place or specific post where I can start learning sannena'iši?
Unfortunately the only place is in all of my documentation. I've never intended it to be learned, at least not until it is finished to my standards, which considering how I think about it and work on it will be never. In my fantasy where I am motivated and hard working I would write a fantasy novel set in the world of the people, and I've always conceived of it as told from an explorer from another continent's perspective, so the reader learns of the world along side the narrator. And they would learn the language beside them too. So, the ideal would be a book that slowly replaces words as you learn them until at the end the narrator's journal is entirely in the new language by the end.

Hero would be the kinda guy who sees a stray in the street and simply cannot resist bringing them home.
And Contra, being the chaos and fun-loving gremlin that he is, would be like “sounds good to me!!” and enable any and all animal-gathering behavior.
Then their house is suddenly filled with Too Many Pets, way too many for the both of them to properly take care of, and they’re like, “Oh No. The consequences of our actions. Oh no, I’LL have to be the responsible one about this, aren’t I? Oh noooooooooo.”
it’s a STRUGGLE and against everything they stand for to look Hero in the eye and tell him they should probably send some of these animals to a shelter, where they can find someone that’ll take good care of them, but if something happen to any of these animals because they were too overwhelmed to keep up with all of them Hero will be DESTROYED so they need to go through it.

day 1 of @deadboystims' 300 followers event: make a stimboard based off of your queer identities! so here's one of them: autiagender! i love this term because (for me) it is a very useful shorthand to explain how autism makes me feel disconnected from gender

At the bus stop one time there was a gaggle of preschoolers waiting to catch the bus for a field trip day, and someone walked past with a couple of friendly little dogs, to great general delight.
But after a little bit, the dogs were getting overwhelmed, and the preschoolers were gently coaxed to back off so the person with the dogs could continue on. Specifically, one of the preschool teachers said, "Sometimes, when you're small, being surrounded by big people can be a bit scary and overwhelming. Even if they are friendly."
This was recieved as great wisdom: after all, the preschoolers were also small, and understood how scary and overwhelming big people could be! And the dogs were indeed even smaller than the preschoolers, so it made sense.
What was funny and charming was that, upon absorbing and reflecting on this wisdom, they all felt the need to tell it to one another. In tones of great insight, they turned to one another and said, "Did you know? Sometimes when you are small, being surrounded by big people can be scary and overwhelming! Even if they are friendly!" Back and forth, without any particular concern that they were all saying the same thing. Have reached comprehension of an insight, it must be shared!
I must say that this behavior is less charming in tumblr users than in preschoolers. Not least because tumblr users, having gained a little analytical skill to misuse, insist on Summarizing and Generalizing and Unifying the insights they repeat, quickly turning any interesting new information into formulaic dogmatic mush.
#i made the mistake of looking in the notes of the beach sand post i reblogged to see if anyone else had interesting comments#And the rate at which it went from like#1) person states with moderate confidence an opinion based on their personal observations#2) multiple people reply with “wow thats so insightful!” (aka it aligns with my preconceived notions of how things work)#3) someone else adds additional personal observations which are not really relevant but which can be absorbed into the narrative#4) people start outright stating the underlying belief on which this bias is constructed as if it were a fresh insight#5) general derisive attitude towards people who haven't seen the Obviously Correct solution to this complex real world problem yet#It's very.......#It's not like it's a high stakes post but it's such a microcosm of the whole dogmatic phenomenon#Also this js a more specific gripe to My Field or w/e#But the degree to which people react to the problems caused by the whole “Control of Nature” era of engineering#with this equally reductive “Nature will Fix Everything” type of attitude#Is sooooo frustrating.#Yes a great many of our current problems could have been avoided if we had not made massive changes to ecosystem processes on the assumptio#That they were simple and we understood them. And that they would respond in predictable ways.#the simplicity in retrospect of “wow we Should Not have done that” does not mean that they are simple to undo!#You can't go back in time. You can't turn back the clock on chaotic processes#Which is. Almost every process ever.#Restoration is hard! Returning to previous regimes of sediment or flooding or fire is tricky and full of foibles!#Moving towards a future which doesn't suck as much even if the past cant be recreated is also uncertain and difficult!#It's frustrating to see people act all high and mighty about how they Respect Nature unlike whoever is making all these decisions#When their understanding of the natural processes in question is AS simplistic as the people who caused the whole mess back in 1910 or w/e#Like I'm not saying there's not bad interests standing in the way of functional restoration on all levels#That's very much a fight to be fought.#But looking at that fight-in-process and saying “wow none of you Respect Nature like me uwu let nature fix it”#Is.#Ugh.

People interpret Alastor as WAY more benevolent in the finale than I think he is so here it is
my ALSASTOR IS SHADY AS FUCK AND I LOVE THAT FOR HIM rant
Tumblr media
In his scene with Nifty in the finale he does seem more genuine, they do seem to have a closer relationship than i previously thought. But he still describes watching the residents of the hotel finding connection with each other as a "surprising thrill". He calls them an "enjoyable collective one can grow accustomed to". It could be from a level of care, but that's not who Alastor is.
Alastor wants to be entertained. There are surely deeper motivations as to why he got involved with the hotel (likely related to his deal) but it's still true. He doesn't care for Charlie and the others as people, he values them for the entertainment their anticks bring him.
He calls them his friends in the finale, but that's not his truth, it's his narrative. The line: "Great Alastor, altruist, died for his friends" to me sounds like a news headline. It even has quotation marks both in the spotify version AND the closed captions on prime. (Weirdly on prime the sentence is written differently: "Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends" implying his last name is Altruist. The difference is odd, i genuinely cant decide which one i think is the true version)
I have also seen people saying that in Hell's Greatest Dad Alastor's part comes out of nowhere, or that he genuinely cares for Charlie, neither i think is true.
Lucifer is a threat to him. Alastor is less powerful than the king of hell, so if Charlie can get help from her dad instead of him she will no longer be dependent on him. Charlie has established daddy issues, so if he can fill that role while undermining Lucifer, or at least put himself in that paternal role, she is more likely to rely on him. That's why he insists on showing off the hotel with Charle, it's so she and her dad arent alone. The only moments Lucifer and Charle are alone (minus Vaggie) are when Husk stops Alastor to talk to him and when Alastor is killing the loansharks. And that's then when the progress happens.
Alastor was on Lucifer the moment he stepped through the door. He does not want him in the hotel, and i don't think he wants his help. 'Helping' is Alastor's job, and he can't let himself be replaced. Not from any care for the cause, but because the hotel him an excuse to stick around and win over Charlie.
She is "filled with potential that [he] could guide". She is nonviolent but powerful. And most importantly to Alastor, naive and trusting. He already convinced her to a deal, he can get basically anything from her as long as it isn't hurting others.
He wants her power. Not clear for what, but it's, again, probably deal-related.
Alastor is"hungry for freedom". And Charlie, with the right manipulation guidance could be the thing that sets him free.
Considering that there's a fair bit of evidence suggesting Lilith is the one holding his leash, that would be a nice conflict.
On the flip side, Lilith could be making him help the hotel. Just a fun thought.
tldr: i think Alastor is trying to get closer to Charlie so she can set him free of his deal
