Great and well researched article! Well done
I am someone who worships Elen and had dreams about her before I knew of Wise. But as soon as I learned of her origin within visions I have become so annoyed with the whole "she must be ancient" and especially the horrible amounts of appropriation that are pointed out in the article.
My pantheon consist of more constructed and/or unrecorded deities. We can work with these deities without needing to steal and lie and tie them to cultures they have no place in. Modern mythology and shared personal gnosis can be just that. Not everything needa to be "ancient" to be of worth. Not everythong needs to be fucking stolen to be of worth.
Sorry if this is a hot button topic, but also… I don’t really care. I’m tired of seeing her appear in my tags that have nothing to do with her. Believe what you want, I won’t stop you. Just don’t call her something that she isn’t.
