Am Donnerstag, dem 1. Februar 2024 beendete ich meinen (fast) trockenen Januar mit einer Weinprobe im Jacques’ Wein-Depot von Herford. Hierbei kam das Gespräch auf abartige alkoholische Getränke früherer Tage. Damals, als Männer noch Männer waren und keine ferngesteuerten Schlafanzüge, wie es schon damals hieß… So zum Beispiel den Pillkaller, ein Drink aus dem ostpreußischen Ort Pillkallen. Hier…

Seine Reise ist gegprägt von Lügen, Diebstahl und Mord. Immer wieder begegnet er Personen, die ihm erstaunlich ähnlich sind. Der Sandmann - E.T.A HOFFMANN: the most well-known hoffmann work (apart from the literal nutcracker - yes that was him) and that’s because it’s amazing!!! creepy, full of metaphors and symbolism, it made me come up with my theory of taeyong being an automaton that’s actually a reflection of our own ideals sdjlkf it’s also quite short so it’s easy to read!! if you like horror stories like this, check out the rest of his Nachtstücke

Les Liaisons Dangereuses - LACLOS: the best epistolary novel (written in letters) of all time believe me i’ve had to read a fair amount of those. amazing characters, unreliable narrators (they’re letters - duh), and an amazingly-constructed narrative structure. i think it was adapted into an american film like a kind of modern version thing so it may even sound familiar!!

Die Elixiere des Teufels - E.T.A HOFFMANN: a monk that has a crazy doppelgänger lmao. i honest to god loved this book so much even though i wasn’t even expecting to. it’s a bit long but it’s so action-packed, kinda crazy and a bit creepy
