Ich bin so froh, ein Kind der analogen Welt zu sein. Ich habe meine ersten Fotos mit Chemikalien im dunklen Raum entwickelt und Lieder vom Fernseher auf Kassette aufgenommen. Mein Fotoapparat konnte ich nur für 36 Bilder nutzen und musste mir die Motive deswegen vorsichtiger und gezielter aussuchen. Ich bin mit Kühen und Schweinen aufgewachsen, die uns ernährt haben. Unser Garten war unser Bioladen. Wenn ich aber die Welt heute betrachte, dann sehe ich lauter Menschen, die keine Ahnung vom Leben haben. Ein Huhn kommt für sie schon eingefroren aus dem Supermarkt und ich habe so viele Hühner auf dem Gewissen, die ich als Teenager geschlachtet habe. "Mörder!" - sagen mir die hirnlosen und von Discountern verwöhnte Dummköpfe. Heute sitzen die Meisten vor der Glotze oder sehen die Welt durch die Oberfläche des Smartphones. Wenn man durch manche Städte spazieren geht, sieht man kaum Menschen draußen, weil die meisten zuhause vor den Bildschirmen festgenagelt sind. Als die Corona ausbrach, kam die böse Natur des Menschen zum Vorschein. Dummheit hat sich so stark manifestiert, wie zuletzt bei dem Verführer Hitler, der die Bücher verbrannt hat und das Volk verdummen ließ. Einer hat den anderen verraten, angeblich um andere vor Ansteckungen zu schützen. Die Lieblosigkeit und Hartherzigkeit der menschlichen Natur war so präsent, dass es mir zum Kotzen übel war. Ich hab mich nicht impfen lassen und wurde deswegen von manchen Freunden verlassen, die ihre Freizeit vor der Glotze verbracht haben. Nun, dann waren es keine echten Freunde. Mein Leben war nicht so leicht, es war immer verdammt schwer, weil ich 20 Jahre meines Lebens mit Epilepsie kämpfte, die ich 2001 besiegt habe. Das wäre nicht passiert, wenn ich die Menschen an meiner Seite nicht hätte, die mich unterstützt und ermutigt haben, dran zu bleiben und zu kämpfen. Leider sind sie nicht mehr in meinem Leben. Einige starben bereits, die anderen haben sich von mir abgewandt, weil ihnen etwas an mir nicht gepasst hat. Ich weiß, wie scheiße es ist, keinen Cent mehr übrig zu haben, weil ich nicht gut genug qualifiziert war, um mehr als tausend Euro zu verdienen. Eigentlich Grund genug, ein Arschloch zu werden oder mit diesem Leben sogar zu beenden. Doch, ich habe für mich erkannt, dass ich nur dann glücklich werden kann, wenn ich anderen Menschen Mut mache, sie liebe und sie wertschätze. Sowas bekommt man heute in der Schule gar nicht mehr beigebracht, auch wenn doch, dann vergessen es die Smartphone-Kinder, weil sie durch ihre Gadgets an Demenz leiden. Du sitzt gerade auch vor einem Bildschirm und liest diese Zeilen. Deswegen möchte ich dir sagen: "Schau dich um! Beachte die Menschen in deiner Umgebung und beginne, sie zu lieben und zu wertschätzen. Habe mehr Gemeinschaft mit echten Menschen und nicht mit den Freelancern auf TikTok. Geh mit ihnen spazieren und rede mit ihnen. So machst du diese Welt wieder menschlicher.

I see you have a Genshin Impact modern/school au on ao3… But do you have a Honkai: Star Rail modern au? If you do, I’d love to hear about it. I’m a sucker for modern aus that are so fluffy and fun it makes me forget about canon angst :’)

I do have something of a Modern AU, though it isn’t really a school au. Some characters do attend school and college, but most don’t. I haven’t really fleshed out all of the characters enough to have written anything fics for it yet, but I definitely want to once I have. The whole au is very found family-esque. I can tell you about the Astral Express crew!

Stelle and Caelus are the latest employees at the Astral Espresso, an old cafe that switched owners and was renovated a few years ago. They have complicated relationships with their family (the Stellaron Hunters) and have moved out together to start their own lives together, away from their family’s influence. Luckily, they were both able to land full-time positions at the Astral Espresso to support themselves. Stelle and Caelus have been considering starting college, though want to attend the same course and can’t seem to agree on a major.

Dan Heng is a part-time employee at the Astral Espresso, and part-time History major in college. Originally Dan Feng, he unfortunately got into a severe workplace accident and suffers from memory loss. As time passes, his memories gradually come back in fragments. Regardless, he has gone by Dan Heng ever since and sees himself as a different person altogether, determined to live his own life regardless of who he used to be. He is the somewhat reluctant legal guardian (and biological parent, though he’s in denial) of Bailu and took up work at the Astral Espresso to provide for them both in his college years.

March 7th is yet another employee of the Astral Espresso. She works full-time at the cafe, though dreams of becoming a professional photographer. In the mean time, has become something of a social media influencer in her free time, even collaborating with the likes of Guinaifen and Sushang. Much like Dan Heng, she too suffers from memory loss and seeks to make the most of her life. However unlike him, her memories have not returned at all. She has no clue why she lost her memories or who she was before she did, neither do her doctors.

Himeko is the new owner of the Astral Espresso. She is an ambitious woman who renovated the entire store to return it to its former glory, whilst also modernising it to appeal to all varieties of customers. Himeko was good friends with the cafe’s previous owner, Akavili, though admittedly knew very little about them. When they suddenly disappeared, the cafe was left in Himeko’s name. Himeko is determined to continue her friend’s legacy and also forge a legacy of her own.

Welt is a part-time animator, and part-time worker at the Astral Espresso. A close friend of Himeko’s, he was one of the first employees to be hired alongside a certain blonde companion after she took over the cafe. Coincidentally, Welt came to adopt a young child affectionately known as Pom-Pom around the time of Akavili’s disappearance. He frequently brings Pom-Pom with him when working at the Astral Espresso, though the child is too young to work themself.

That’s pretty much the basics on the Astral Express Crew. If you’re curious about any other characters or want to know more about these characters, feel free to send in an ask. I have lots of ideas and not much to do with them yet.

GallaWelt has become a comfort ship of mine. Here’s a snippet of a fic I’m writing about them:

The best part of the job? Whenever he’s asked that question, Gallagher’s answer isn’t quick. He smiles, scratches his chin and hums softly. Sometimes he says it’s the mixology; making different drinks all night, customizing each one to suit the tastes of the patrons. Sometimes he says it’s the atmosphere; warm lighting, music from his teenage years on the speakers, customers laughing and talking to each other. But if he’s feeling honest, he’ll say it’s the regulars. He loves connecting with people, loves it when they keep coming back, surprised when he remembers their orders.

If he’s feeling really honest though, (he never is) he’ll admit that it’s one regular in particular. The art professor that sits in the same corner table every Friday night with his sketchbook. He orders a single scotch, neat, with a side of ice water and slowly nurses it until he’s satisfied with whatever he’s drawing.

Gallagher is used to regulars, he’s been running this bar for 15 years, and he’s been a bartender for far longer. Usually he gets to know his regulars through conversation as he makes their drinks night after night. However, he knows next to nothing about Professor Yang, the man with the sketchbook. He learned his last name and profession from another one of his regulars: a student of Professor Yang’s. The man doesn’t make conversation when he orders, very awkward whenever Gallagher tries to learn anything about him. He doesn’t get him, doesn’t understand why he keeps coming back. He’s sure as hell not complaining though.

Jing Nyan

Yukong feels so lonely after her daughter left the house for college, she wants a company and someone to take care of.

She is happy to feed you, a stray one, and you officially become hers when she managed to put on a collar on you.

However, she is ill-informed about taking a stray as a pet and never crossed her mind to spay you.

Resulting her kitty to be missing for days, only to come back with filled belly.

On the other side of the neighborhood, Fu Xuan has this healthy fat cat, she foolishly thought her cat is so lazy as long as he is inside, it will be okay.

Oh how wrong she is that Jing Nyan is determined enough to meet up with the stray cat walking outside their house.

Imagine the surprise on Fu Xuan's face when she sees the status from her neighbor about the oh-so-familiar looking kittens.

The meeting started with both women apologizing for not spaying their cats, and ended up with Fu Xuan roasting the hell out her own cat.

Stellaron Stray

In a small studio house, the Express Family got an indoor cat, you, a very curious yet timid kitty.

The neighborhood got many stray cats but one of the most famous one are the so called Stellaron strays.

March was quite upset, she has a male cat in mind to mate with her purebred cat. Only for you to just have kittens with the neighborhood gang cats. And how the hell you got a female cat to impregnate you

However, the Express didn't expect the strays to keep visiting, and even leaving animals that they hunt for you!

The Express decided to keep your babies too instead of giving them away.

Now Himeko is followed by kittens who always beg food to her.

And Dan Heng being haunted by the kittens who just....stare at him for some reason.

The Express also realizing these kittens are escaping artist, no matter how tight the door and windows are locked, the cats always find a way to get everywhere.
