A little concept sketch of my Gravity Falls self insert! And as you can see, she's a werewolf! 0u0

She's normally in her first form when she's out and about, and when it's getting close to the full moon she looks like her second form before going full wolf! During that time period she starts getting a powerful craving for raw meat and she gets really itchy as her fur starts coming in, then the ears and tail follow! (At first glance I'm sure most of the townsfolk would just think she was a furry 😂)

In general she's very cheery, and she exhibits a lot of dog-like behavior (getting excited when the doorbell rings, noticing and perking up when she sees squirrels, shaking her whole body when she gets wet) and she has a somewhat irrational fear of rabies so she's not a very good hunter and actually tends to AVOID wild animals in the forest and stray dogs/cats. When she moves to Gravity Falls she opens a curios and oddities shop with her partner in crime, which a certain conman sees as competition, leading him and the mystery twins to go check it out 👀❓️

Slowly, gently, snow had been falling for three days and three nights, turning Linkon City into a winter wonderland. As if the world had slowed down, finding peace in this rare moment, you found yourself snowed in. There were few wanderer sightings and many tasks had been regulated to a work-from-home situation. There were things to do, but time seemed so endless these last few days, you would rather lounge around and waste away instead.

Of course, wasting away by yourself felt rather lonesome, but that was an easy fix. You knew the perfect person who would always be willing and ready to do nothing with you.

In your comfiest lounge clothes, you slipped on a pair of bunny slippers, tucked your laptop under your arm, and you left your apartment, making your way to the floor above.

Knock-knock.

You waited, smiling.

Knock-knock.

You waited, your smile faltering.

Knock-knock.

You frowned.

Knock—

“Coming, coming—” you heard a groggy voice, and then the door swung open and you met Xavier’s sleepy face. Still dressed in only pajamas bottoms and a white hoodie, he yawned as he rubbed his eyes, seemingly still under the influence of sleep. He blinked in surprise, apparently not expecting to see you at his door. “What are you—”

“Xavier,” you said, a hint of exasperation in your voice, “It’s ten in the morning.”

He blinked again, opening the door wider to let you inside. He glanced at the laptop under your arm, a bit confused, but he did not question it. “But it’s not like we have work to do—”

You made yourself comfy on Xavier’s couch, already setting up your little work area. “Have you finished writing all of your reports?”

“They’re not due yet—”

“So no, huh…” you mumbled and shook your head in disappointment. You tensed up when Xavier sat down next to you and leaned his head on your shoulder, his eyes closing again.

“Did you come here to scold me?” his soft voice asked, and you felt your heartbeat skipped for a second.

“O-of course not,” you said, your cheeks suddenly feeling a little warmer than usual. You continued, “I thought we could keep each other company and work together, partner.”

He laughed softly. “I like the keeping each other company part,” he said, adding teasingly, “‘partner’.”

“And work?”

“Isn’t it a snow day…”

You laughed. “Okay, okay,” you agreed, “What do you want to do on a snow day?”

You peeked at him, seeing Xavier’s eyes were still closed from your peripheral vision.

“We could… watch a movie,” he suggested, with his eyes still closed. Lazily, he continued, “…play video games, eat—”

“So what we normally do on our days off?”

He opened his eyes and smiled. “Is that a bad thing?”

“No, it sounds like the perfect day,” you answered, your own head tilting against his. You giggled when Xavier suddenly pulled away, his posture straightening as you found your head landing on his lap and staring up into his beautiful blue eyes.

“I have an idea,” you said suddenly. Xavier blinked at you in confusion when you abruptly ordered him to move his coffee table to the side. He did as you demanded without question, and once satisfied, you quipped really quickly, “I’ll be right back.”

About twenty minutes later, you and Xavier had built a little pillow nest in the space between the couch and the TV. You had gathered as many comforters as you could find at both your place and Xavier’s to form a comfy base. Plushies and pillows lined either side, creating a border that separated the nest from the rest of the living room.

Xavier plopped down in the center, and grabbed your wrist to pull you to lay on top of him. You giggled and looked up, your chin lightly resting on his chest. “Is it comfy?”

“The comfiest,” he agreed with a gentle smile. “Is this what we’re going to be doing all day then? Just lay in our nest?”

“Well, we have movies to watch… video games to play… and food to eat…” you reminded him.

“A perfect day,” he echoed your earlier words back to you.

“Ramen?”

“Check.”

“Canned meat?”

“Check.”

“Dumplings?”

“Check.”

“Xavier—did we go overboard?”

“What do you mean?”

You and Xavier leaned over the stove and stared at the large simmering pot filled with two servings of instant ramen, sliced canned meat from an entire container, eight large frozen dumplings, shredded imitation crabmeat, and two soft-boiled eggs.

Xavier rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “It’s not a lot—”

Ding!

“That’s the frozen chicken nuggets,” you reminded him with a frown. “We went overboard.”

“Don’t worry, we can finish them all.”

“Should we really be this gluttonous?” You questioned as you removed the pot from the stove, placing it on the counter over a wooden trivet. Xavier handed you a smaller bowl and a pair of chopsticks. You helped yourself to a serving as Xavier also dug in himself. You slurped up some noodles, smiling in delight at the guilty pleasure of the high sodium and heavily-processed meal, but just as quickly, you mumbled, feeling a hint of shame, “…we haven’t been very active these last few days…”

“It’s okay,” he reassured you as he ate from his own bowl. He helped himself to another serving of meat. “We need the extra weight for warmth.”

You laughed at his reasoning. Your mouth opened wide in shock as Xavier started placing dumplings and a halved egg into your bowl. “I can’t eat this much—”

“Yes, you can,” he said, “It’s okay to be a little gluttonous and lazy every now and then.”

“Is that what you tell yourself to feel better?”

He smiled, unbothered by your teasing. “Think of this like a vacation,” he said, “We’re allowed to let go and enjoy ourselves.”

“Aren’t you worried about running out of food before the snowstorm calms down?”

“We still have food at your place, right?”

You gaped at his implied suggestion, laughing. “I don’t think I have enough food to feed you…”

“I don’t eat that much—why are you looking at me like that?"

You giggled at his pout, and then you reached into the pot, picking up a dumpling. You held it out to Xavier. “Eat up—we’re on vacation.”

He smiled and opened his mouth. “Best vacation ever,” he said, chewing his food, his eyes brightening as he watched you enjoyed the simple, indulgent meal you and he had cooked together.

It was barely midday and the sky had already begun to darken, and yet the snow had not ceased, showing no sign of ending any time soon. Within the warmth of Xavier’s apartment, you both sat by the balcony with you nestled comfortably in his lap, his chin lightly resting atop your head. You both watched Linkon City continued to be blanketed in white powder, no words exchanged, but none were needed.

The peaceful silence passed, and before you knew it, the lights of Linkon City lit up one by one under the snowy sky.

“It’s getting late,” Xavier said suddenly, breaking the silence, “Should we get ready for dinner or something—”

“I don’t feel like moving,” you told him, making yourself extra comfortable in his lap to his amusement. You continued in a bright tone, “I had a good lunch, I had spent the day lazing around, and now I don’t feel like I want to move anymore.”

“Okay,” he said thoughtfully, a hint of mischievousness in his tone completely missed by you until it was too late. Suddenly, you felt Xavier’s arms sweeping underneath your legs and back, and you were quickly and easily lifted up.

“Ah—!”

You clung to Xavier tightly when he had easily swooped you up into his arms without warning. He carried you back to the nest, and within seconds, you were giggling when suddenly your back met the soft, plush comforter, and he collapsed on top of you, his face nuzzled against your stomach. Your fingers treaded through his hair, feeling the soft, silky strands. He hummed happily, his lips kissing your stomach.

“That—that tickles,” you said, blushing.

“Really?” he asked with a hidden teasing smile. He kissed your stomach again, his hands gripping your hips a little tighter.

Your fingers light massaged his scalp, a gasp escaping with every kiss. “Xavier—”

He chuckled and looked up, his eyes softening at your coy expression. “I’m glad you’re here,” he whispered.

“Me, too…” you answered back in the same soft tone, your eyes meeting his.

As the last remnants of daylight disappeared, the living room darkened, but before you could say anything, it lit up unexpectedly. Like fireflies, the warm lights Xavier summoned with his Evol flitted and fluttered around the room, bathing the place in a dreamy glow.

“So… pretty…” you murmured unconsciously, and Xavier blinked, a little embarrassed.

He recomposed himself, his gentle smile returning. He leaned down closer to you, his lips just barely touching yours. “Very pretty,” he agreed, though you sensed he was not referring to the lights.

It felt like your heart was trembling with anticipation, eagerly awaiting of what to come. Instinctively, your eyes closed, the weight of him on top of you felt heavier, his lips pressed against you so sweetly, so familiar and welcomed.

“…Mm …Xavier…”

He gazed into your eyes, as if in awe at seeing the whole universe staring back at him, gifting him with the secret message of a distant star echoed across time and space that had been waiting to reach him.

“Don’t… move…” he said, and before you could even question him, the world tumbled suddenly and you found your position switched. Xavier’s hand rested behind your head, keeping you pressed close to his chest. You peered up, confused, but your expression softened when your eyes locked with his, seeing eternity staring back at you. You rested your head on his chest again, feeling the gentle rise and fall as he breathed. His warmth cradled you, carrying you away from this winter wonderland to a place only the stars would know.

Set aglow, it felt like the two of you had slipped away to another world, to a dream where you and he played and waltzed among the stars, his hand firmly grasping yours, a silent promise that he would always hold onto you even when all of the stars burned out.

For the au ask game!

OKAY I wanted specifically to get to the pokemon au from the ask you sent, it's been cooking a bit so it's time to see what comes out of the oven, so... @azol-otl ty for the ask!

Crossover au's are all about the fused worldbuilding for me and speculating on how characters from universe A would fit into universe B heehee hoohoo - and for Batfam especially it's fun to think about the equivalent of their roles as vigilantes! What kind of people have the same level of celebrity, the same sideways seeking of justice?

Naturally this leads you to the gym leaders because a) it's the most fun and b) they are like. Quasi-law enforcement/educators/professional athletes depending on how you try to translate the innate child's perspective on the pokemon universe into something that makes sense as an adult lol ilu pokemon. [insert 'compels me though' gif here]

SO with this in mind, here's 5 fun facts (that are mostly backstory lmao) from a jaytim pokemon au I would write

I'm deeply ill about pokemon so this one goes under the cut lol:

Jason Todd used to be the Champion. He won the role after Dick Grayson quit a year or two before (Dick had been getting older and chafing under the League rules - meaning he'd been chafing under how Bruce ran the League) and was a fierce competitor who didn't believe in going easy on anyone. His Houndoom was a force to be reckoned with, and despite running a mostly Dark-type team, his Honchkrow cleaned up anyone thinking their Fighting-types could sweep. He looked after the League and Gotham with a cocky, self-assured attitude and the win record to back it up. .

Jason disappeared suddenly at the age of 15. Many assumed him dead, after a Rocket (Or whatever Gotham themed gang name we want to go with lol could be Team Joker) bombing in the area he'd last been seen, but he's officially declared missing. Bruce Wayne took back the duties of interim Champion as he once did for Dick Grayson, but he's not quite the mentor he once was. It's obvious he's grieving, and that he doesn't want to mentor any more twelve year olds. Dick signed up to be a Gym Leader shortly after this, returning from his trip about a year early to help out in the chaos following Jason's disappearance. .

Enter Tim Drake. Tim's gym challenge wasn't all that interesting in the circuit at first; he had a rocky start and had to retake a few gym challenges. He wasn't exactly sweeping on his first try every time like Jason had done. He didn't have the meteoric rise that caught the Champion's attention early, didn't get one-on-one mentorship or face-to-face meetings, cautionary advice and congratulations all rolled into one from Bruce Wayne himself - but Tim had patience and grit, and he paid attention. He was gunning for the Championship, and it wasn't just so he could prove himself. Team Rocket/Joker was still out there, and Bruce needed all the help he could get. He was always better for Gotham when he had a Robin. .

Dick had been nicknamed Robin for his all-Flying-type team and especially his Natu-then-Xatu; Jason followed up with his Murkrow-then-Honchkrow; Tim's Rookidee was one among many (Robin-esque pokemon were popularized by Dick and the trend remains through Tim's day) so he wasn't considered a possible Robin successor until it was a Corvisquire and he was about to face Dick Grayson himself, a badge away from Victory Road. By then, Tim and his team were a well-oiled machine (he runs mostly Steel-types lol but also Normal-types for the unexpected adaptability and the 'underestimate my rattata i dare you it's in the top peRCENTAGE--' of it all. FEAR.), and his loss-record had all but frozen while his win-record ticked higher and higher. .

Shit finally goes down about three years after Tim has become Champion and all but bullied Bruce into mentoring him (he basically said 'if you don't watch me, i'll go find Team Rocket/Joker on my own' and triggers all of Bruce's child endangerment traumas simultaneously) and the mysterious Rocket/Joker leader Red Hood shows up, bringing the gang out of the shadows in pursuit of a hidden agenda. Identity shenanigans and "wait is that a Houndoom? But he's only been using Ghost-types, it CAN'T be..." and heel-face turns abound. .

(BONUS FACT: Something something, Jason went into deep cover with Looker or whoever he is, that Interpol guy from X & Y (WAIT. LOOKER MIGHT ACTUALLY BE TALIA AL GHUL IN THIS AU HOHOHO), infiltrating the Rocket/Joker gang and going public as Red Hood is the first step in the last phase of the sting. Cue a million tense Jaytim interactions in which Tim is legitimately trying to take Red Hood down and Jason desperately tries to shake him so that he doesn't do anything that forces Jason to blow his cover. There is at least one 'tugged into a tight space to hide them both from the actual bad guys, "wait, did you just HELP me...?" "Think whatever you want, babybird"' interaction because I am a slut for the first sprinkles of a redemption arc that is rife with UST fufufu)
