I don't believe iz/ch is canon bc like why would you forget abt the tragic intense sapphic romance you had and build an entire system to help that girl that died for you for some gay boy you had a crush on in hs 😭
same goes for izk. why would you forget abt the intense rival friendship with your devoted childhood friend that died (twice) for you and declared that he wanted chase after you forever and funded your power to make it happen for some gay girl you were friends with in hs
(i'm joking, obv)
Wdym you’re joking? You’re literally right.
#I genuinely don’t understand how people will talk about izcha like it’s so obvious#when tgck and bkdk are so much deeper and tgck literally has canon romantic undertones… I really should say overtones#toga was in love with Ochako and Ochako knew that and accepted it#like that’s canon that’s not some made up shit by the fandom#tgck is so blatantly queer and it’s so in your face idk how people willfully look passed it#and then bkdk - Izuku had more development with his relationship with him than he did literally any other character#and he described that development as being a ‘blessing’ and something ‘he never would’ve imagined’#he wanted their relationship to go back to normal so bad he literally loves that boy#and then there’s like four times within the last 150 chapters where Izuku is just staring at him with this love struck look#that he hasn’t given to literally anyone else#he gets the shojo leaves in the wind and sparkles and- bro loves him#not to mention that Katsuki being queer in some way is canon too. he’s at the very least on the ace spectrum#and I’m gonna die on the hill that he’s demi#ALSO KATSUKI DIED IN IZUKUS HONOR AND BLACKWHIP FORMED A HEART IN AN EXPLOSION ARE WE JUST GONNA FORGET ABOUT THAT#bnha#bakudeku#bkdk#midoriya izuku#bakugou katsuki#puff speaks#ask puff#puff answers#tgck#togachako#toga himiko#uraraka ochako

Unhinged theory
The Passion of Sanemi Shinazugawa
Sanemi has no chill.
We all been knew this. His chill is one of the things that the fandom has accepted canonically doesn't exist, like Inosuke's uniform shirt or Zenitsu's dating standards, but the reason for his lack of chill and generally aggressive behavior is still a much debated topic to this day.
I have made two posts here and here breaking down his backstory, his trauma and socio-economical circumstances that made him the man he is today but, I still wasn't satisfied. Something nagged me about this character and his personality that I couldn't put my finger on. So I pondered, for days going through each episode, rereading the manga taking note of his actions and interactions with other characters.
Then, it finally hit me.
Ladies and gentlemen, I believe I've found the answer.
Sanemi, our sweet boy, is SEXUALLY FRUSTRATED.
Let me explain.
butt first...
What is sexual frustration?
According to Medical News Today,
Sexual frustration describes a state of irritation, agitation, or stress resulting from sexual inactivity or dissatisfaction. Sexual frustration is a common, natural feeling, and it can affect anyone.
Some symptoms include:
Feeling irritable, restless, and edgy (so Sanemi's entire personality?)
Engaging in unhealthy coping skills (like wanting to brawl with another man for no reason and after having a sexually-charged training session 🤨)
Performing riskier behaviors to fulfill sexual desires (like exposing your entire chest and leaving it vulnerable just so you can show off your tits like a slut 🤨🤨).
Compulsive or hypersexual behaviors (like wanting to grab another man by the hair just so he won't go away 🤨🤨🤨)
Depression or anxiety for men (see this post)
“Seeking revenge” against targets that are the believed source of the frustration (basically Sanemi vs Giyuu)
Displaced frustration on targets with no connection to the frustration (Sanemi vs Tanjiro vs Junior Slayers)
How did this cum to be?
Okay so, I have this headcanon that the Shinazugawa men have a high sex drive. I mean, there's the seven kids from Kyogo which means he had to be laying pipe...a lot(F's in the chat for Shizu 😔) and Genya's horniness when he breathes the same air as a girl, so it's safe to say that Sanemi also has a high sex drive.
After the tragedy that struck his family (Shizu killing the kids, not Kyogo's death because fuck that guy), Sanemi lost any hope or chance of a normal life. In the light novel Sign post of the Wind, Sanemi tells Masachika that life isn't for fun, and he has expressed his distaste for 'frivolous' things.
He denies himself these things because he believes he doesn't deserve them, why should he enjoy life when he killed his mom, when he couldn't protect his siblings, when his brother rightfully hates him, when demons still exist, when families are still being ripped apart, when his colleagues and juniors are being killed and when Genya is in constant danger. The only thing he allows himself is ohagi which is a reminder of happier times.
He has no time for friends, for love and definitely not for sex, which by extension includes masturbation. He won't be able to jerk off without seeing the faces of his mom and his siblings -and yes, that sentence was just as awkward for me writing it as you reading it- so he resigned himself to a life of solitude and sexual frustration, which caused him to develop his aggressive and no-chill personality but at least he was able to manage for a while, that was until he met Giyuu.
Cum hither Giyuu
Sanemi's no-nut journey became even more unbearable when he met Giyuu. There was just something about that sappy, derpy, stupid face that stole his heart and even though Giyuu's personality should've made it easy to stay away, the power of love and horny didn't allow that to happen.
Like I mentioned before in a previous post, what followed was a series of sexually-tense situations and interactions between the two Hashiras, so every time Giyuu happened to enter Sanemi's field of vision, I guess you could say more or less he was:
Reaching out for help
In the light of their impending doom with Muzan's arrival, Sanemi has a realization; he's obviously going to die soon, that doesn't scare Sanemi, he's accepted the fact that he's going to die anyway but to die as a virgin? Now that's not good. With the failure of trying to reach out to Giyuu in the Hashira meeting and the disaster that was the attempted eye-poking incident and being shamed by a 16-year-old Sanemi decides 'fuck it' and tries to reach out to Giyuu again.
But he can't go crawling to Giyuu and be like 'please fuck me', no no no that would not do instead he has the brilliant idea to challenge Giyuu to combat under the guise of 'training' in some misguided hope that the spar would get both their temperatures up which would in turn get Giyuu horny enough to rip off his clothes and fuck him. Yay! The plan is foolproof!
I already mentioned in this post how Sanemi's suggestion for a brawl made no sense as he could have just taken the Muichiro route and suggested they use their actual katanas, but no he wanted a full body contact brawl. Like look at how excited he was at the concept of brawling with Giyuu, like no wonder Tanjiro was scared for Giyuu!
JUST LOOK AT THIS FACE!!! LOOK AT THE DESPERATION!!! OUR BOY IS SO PENT UP HE'S ON THE VERGE OF INSANITY!!!
THIS IS THE FACE OF A MAN WHO HASN'T NUTTED IN 21 YEARS! He was literally begging BEGGING Giyuu to touch him! 😭
Tanjiro(bestest boy ❤️) was rightfully afraid for his big bro, so he intercepts (read cock blocks) Sanemi! Imagine how he felt at that moment; he was THIS close to some body contact and then comes in the same child who kills his rep at every turn! Not only that, but Tanjiro clocks in Sanemi's intentions and decided to put a stop to it by hitting him where he hurts; ohagi.
Imagine your biggest social opp coming along with his innocent, stupidly sweet face when you've finally decided to open yourself up to fucking your forever crush and killing whatever and all sexual tension with his annoying innocence!
Then, as if on a mission to destroy your spirit, reveals your secret love of ohagi! A sweet typically enjoyed by children! Right in front of his future baby daddy!
Tanjiro then drives the knife even further by asking him his ohagi preferences, talking about how his grandma used to make ohagi and shit!
LIKE BOYYYYYYYY
That explains why he was so salty even hours later. If I were him, I'd be pissed too! The fuck! I love how he stopped walking on the steps just to cuss Tanjiro out, like you can tell it came from the very depths of his soul.
I mean, you can literally hear the pain and frustration in his voice. That is the cry of a man who spent three hours douching, only to have his Grindr date cancel on him.
Celebrating the big O
After the events of the final showdown we see a more relaxed, almost peaceful Sanemi which tells us one thing - our boy finally got laid!
But when? and with whom?
Well Giyuu, duh. I theorize that it happened sometime during the three months of recuperation before Tanjiro woke up, and they had their last Hashira meeting. I mean, look at how they're smiling at each other, you can't tell me these guys didn't fuck at least once.
Sanemi came(lol) out(lol again!) of the encounter a changed man. He's moisturized, demure, in his lane, thriving.
Look at him here; tits covered 'cuz Giyuu has made an honest man out of him, and that peaceful look? Damn, dick was so good blud had to look up to the heavens like
In Conclusion, Sanemi's character development is really inspirational because it's a story of one man's triumph over thirst and yea I don't know how to end this post, so I'll just leave you with some words of wisdom:

To add onto Anons before me I’ve noticed that whenever misogyny is brought up in the PJSK fandom the people talking about it always specifically refer to L/N, MMJ and even N25. Which.
Actually I think we should talk about Emu Nene An and Kohane more. They face SO much misogyny. Constantly. And nobody even mentions them in discussions about misogyny BECAUSE of said misogyny. Literally every single time an Emunene or Anhane song comes out people call it bad or say it should’ve gone to someone else. Every time. Without fail. It gets ignored at best outright hated at worst.
Ok so thought experiment time. Name a popular Emunene or Anhane song that’s as beloved or gets as much attention as Aun no Beats and Fixer.
If you couldn’t name one - that isn’t even because they don’t have bangers people just don’t like women unless they’re standing right next to men. Anhane alone has Imperial Girl and Odo and Pheles and Love is War and the Night Sky Patrol of Tomorrow and Butterfly on your Right Shoulder archives and you’re telling me that none of those are “good enough”????? Idk I think that’s just bias. Ruikasa and Akitoya songs have gotten popular with worse. Anhane and Emunene could drop the most jaw dropping gorgeous songs ever and not a single person would care and I firmly believe and will stand by that statement.
This isn’t even getting into how they’re treated in group covers!!!!!! Everybody ignores or hates on them!!!! If people feel like they got even slightly more lines than Ruikasa or Akitoya, even in their *own focus songs* (cough forward cough) they get so upset. And yet when Anhane and Emunene get the EXACT same treatment in Ruikasa or Akitoya songs nobody says a single thing!!!
And that’s not just speculation I KNOW that’s the case I can literally prove it. An has three total solo lines in the entirety of blender. That’s the exact same amount of solo lines as Toya gets in Ready Steady. They pretty much have the exact same amount of duet lines as well. In both songs. But Ready Steady is infamous and hated for it whereas blender nobody has even pointed this out and it’s universally beloved. It’s not even just a “blender is a focus song” thing because this happened with Forward too. It’s just misogyny.
I’ve seen people complain about Daybreak Frontline. Because and I quote “I hate it when the girls get most of the lines”. I can’t even go into any of the Nene or Emu tags without filtering every single Tsukasa and Rui tag first and even then finding any sort of content is almost impossible I think that’s a problem.
People will call Kohane “just a girl” despite the fact that she has a solid character arc and a personality and development. You can think she’s boring or not for you but????????? Don’t call her “just a girl”????? Esp not when she has social difficulties that are intentionally supposed to be relatable to the audience. A lot of people might actually relate to her character and journey even if they don’t necessarily like her. Idk leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
An has it only SLIGHTLY better because there’s a niche little fanbase for her and she’s somewhat popular (in the western fanbase. I think Kohane is more popular in Japan iirc.) but she still gets treated as an accessory to Akito and Toya just like Kohane. Also people keep trying to be weird and frame her as abusive or toxic which. Considering that possibility isn’t like a bad thing but people are just straight up reaching to try to prove stuff that either isn’t implied at any point or is outright refuted in the text just to villainize her??? Which is weird??? Especially because these people will turn around and defend Rui and Akito. Like. What did she ever do to you….. you’re willing to defend Rui who has canonically put people in mortal danger because teehee autism (I am autistic FYI I still think that’s a really stupid thing to use as justification especially if he’s aware it’s dangerous????) but An. Just existing with her fear of abandonment was too much??????
I could go ON and on and on there are so many examples….. help me……… help me anons…..
It’s not even that liking Akito and Toya or Rui and Tsukasa is inherently bad!!!!! But the favoritism as a whole is…….. something. Especially when it turns into hating the fem characters.
Also Mizuki suffers this too with Rui as another anon mentioned and it’s like. Really guys. Like first off it’s not about him it’s about Mizuki and if you’re gonna involve anyone else it should be the Nightcord girlies. Second off It’s a double whammy because people will bring up Rui but make no mention of An despite the fact that An is the one who’s canonically defended Mizuki from transphobes. Like. Why only Rui.
(I tried to word this as neutrally as possible I hope it didn’t come off as too aggressive ausuxuvhxhgxhgshg…. Anyways….. introspection and growth is good and cool actually…. Also I’m using Anhane and Emunene and Akitoya and Ruikasa for ease of use not as like a ship thing just to clarify it’s just tiring typing out each name individually)

Ep 26 Commentary
Alrightyy I've mustered up what's left of my brain for a belated ep 26 commentary post. IRL responsibilities are getting a bit away from me so I wasn't able to spend as much time on this as usual; apologies if the haste shows through! Consider this more reaction than meta.
As always, spoilers under the cut:
A carry-over comment, but I really do appreciate the Li Lun/ZYC scene in ep 25 for how it solidified ZYC's resolve and reminded him of where his heart is, what he believes in, what he chooses to defend. Such a load-bearing and pivotal conversation for both characters in opposite directions of development. It also makes ZYC's return to the Bureau triumphant in a way, despite all the preceding trauma, despair, and hopelessness. WX embraces him in relief that he's safe and in comfort for what they've all just been through, and for us, it's doubly meaningful as a sort of homecoming after a confrontation that only we have witnessed. It's also interesting, the cutaway as they hug, the things we have been made privy to and the things that are kept private from us.
Ouuughh the lines voiced over as ZYZ and ZYC meet eyes for the first time since all that transpired in Tianxiang Pavilion. It gives such a deep sense of wordless understanding and intimacy. I'm reminded of when the show did that for Ranyi and Miss Qi's final lines.
As I mentioned previously, a lot of subtext became text in this episode, which was quite exciting (and also extremely adorable the way ZYC was like "I think I've said too much" /// afterwards). I didn't expect ZYC to convey his understanding of ZYZ to him so soon, but that really goes back to something I love about ZYC: that he doesn't really waste time expressing something once he's come to an emotional conclusion. Maybe there's something to be said there about how he knows, after the loss of his family, how important it is to say the words when you have them to the people in front of you while they're still here.
If ZYC's words and his tears offered to a catatonic ZYZ in ep 23 were an expression of star-crossed and conflicted love, this parallel scene is just an utterly unrestrained confession, the stars be damned.
Also, tbh I never found ZYC's reactions to ZYZ to be unfounded or unreasonable, even when misguided in the beginning (and necessarily so, given the narrative and premise) or at times harsh (which I also found much-needed for ZYZ to hear, and delivered with obvious sympathetic anguish). He was clearly reflecting and actively revising his own preconceived notions this entire time, feeling for ZYZ the whole way through, and I do think he's demonstrated realistically and impressively the full extent of empathy perhaps as far as it can possibly stretch without personally experiencing ZYZ's life himself and while still living and feeling for his own. But to see ZYC so ready to address his previous flaws, to admit them and correct them, to go beyond them and to reach out so plainly for ZYZ in front of him now that he has that personal experience—the relationship between them has transcended the initial set-up of two opposing characters meeting in the middle. The show has gone that extra step and made their perspectives one. And given that I didn't personally find that step to be narratively necessary, so to say, (as in, even without it there's not truly a narrative obstacle because I already believed ZYC loves ZYZ despite everything and we've already seen the lengths he'll go to not to kill ZYZ), it feels like a choice in every definition of the word. Like a development motivated by love all the way down.
WX gets the least traumatic cloak-draping scenes out of the three of them, thank god.
Oh shit I forgot about fixing the Wilderness I'm so glad they didn't lmao.
Ahhh the crossroads moment at a literal (kind of) crossroads right before entering the Bingyi Clan's forbidden area. ZYC suddenly wanting to go alone or back out, stuck weighing the danger to everyone's lives, who they can and can't save depending on his choices. It makes me think of what happens when we let intense love in and it comes with intense fear, makes us freeze up. Suddenly, the stakes are in sharp relief, and the courage to move forward isn't so simple anymore.
"修好了,你也別死" ("Once it's fixed, don't die either.") Head in hands. ZYC's voice here, his expression, that desperation. Yeah I think this episode was so draining because of how all pretense is being stripped away and all that's left is ZYC's profound love for everyone, so raw and vulnerable that it hurts to watch, especially knowing he won't have it easy trying to keep everyone alive.
Kind of love how freely ZYC cries and says the vulnerable things in front of all his loved ones. Like. That's truly his family, his people, his heart.
ZYZ please. Imagine ZYC's grief without you. Please just stay.
Yay 12 seconds of angst-free bickering right before (as someone else called it) the trolley problem
Ok so, I'm not sure how common this interpretation/reading of the following scene is, but it's been rattling around in my head for a while now so I'm just gonna include it here. If y'all disagree, pls disregard! Basically, when ZYC first turned to PSJ and thanked her, I was terrified for a moment that he would ask her to stay. Because on one hand, ZYC would never, but on the other hand, imo there's a lot of (I think deliberate) ambiguity baked into the scene. In ZYC turning to PSJ right after we're told "one of your friends or all three of them," in him starting the series of goodbyes with the character he has the least onscreen development with, in the finality of what he says to her but also the lack of clarity on just who this is final for, in PSJ's expression and WX's reaction, in the dramatic turning away at the end. Like, until he turns away from her, I think there's room for interpretation on what he's decided to do, and as someone who's grown quite surprisingly invested in the ZYC-PSJ dynamic, I'm kind of morbidly interested in this reading of events.
What might be going through PSJ's head at ZYC's words, if at this moment she hasn't yet realized his self-sacrificial intent? Does she think she's going to be asked to stay? Does she assess the situation, conclude that she's the person ZYC is least close to and perhaps the one least able to contribute in whatever comes next as the only human here, and begin resigning herself to this outcome? Are the tears in her eyes the sole indication of her conflicted unwillingness to die here that makes it through because as he's talking, she's evaluated that this is the best possible scenario for them all (esp for WX) and will commit herself to his decision even if it also breaks her heart to be chosen this way?
I may be taking this and running a bit far with it, but I just think the ambiguity of this one brief moment can create such angsty implications between the lines (as if we needed more angst...) and despite their scarce onscreen interactions, I'm kind of a sucker for the "extremely noble (to the point of tragedy) knight choosing to acknowledge and follow and dedicate their silent loyalty to a leader they deeply respect" dynamic, even if it is understated with all the other relationships going on in this show. Given how reticent PSJ is, it makes a meaningful impact on me every time she displays concern for ZYC, so you know it crushed me to watch her desperately and irrationally (the most pragmatic of them all!) try to shoot at him with her arrows while knowing there's no way it'd work. The way she was the first to act, the sound of nothing but the ice and the stretch of the bowstring. I really do love their platonic bond much more than I expected to.
Oof. The freezing. I don't want to sound like a broken record but I loved TJR's acting here because I think it's so easy for this scene to look awkward as he's stuck facing forward and pretending to freeze haha. His microexpressions as he realizes ZYZ is behind him, as he tries to chase him away with his words, as he's probably burning from the inside out with all that ice. That last tear as his gaze turns hollow. A+
I also love ZYZ's lines about not believing he can't overcome ZYC's powers like yeah this is a newborn demon with no inner core and ice powers that he taught him lmao
Okay, that's a wrap for my thoughts on this ep! I was originally going to include ep 27 reactions here too, but seeing as this is getting a little long, maybe I'll roll 27 into my thoughts on ep 28? We shall see!

i can write a thesis on why prime is such an amazing show but i would like to point out three things i had issues with. this isn’t coherently written, just rambles i want to get off my chest
1. the fact that we didn’t get to see knockout mourn breakdown’s death IRKS ME. there’s barely any mention of BD after mech kidnapped and committed acts of body horror against him. even when he is mentioned, it’s always in a flippant manner. that was KO’spartner (in all ways) and we don’t see, in any way, that the death actually hurts KO.
in fact, KO should have become an autobot as a result of BD’s death/body desecration. no one gave a shit about BD, including megatron—someone KO expected to have at least a shred of worry over a loyally capable decepticon soldier. no dice—KO was demoted from prolific medic to loser lackey ( he's still fun tho! i still love him!) as the episodes go by with still no opportunity to mourn. at least with the autobots they’d have some apprehension over his defection, but OP would have understood.
imagine the miko and KO interactions if he expressed reluctant and embarrassed interest in human culture!!!!!!
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN AUTOBOT EARLIER
(by association, BD should have switched sides after he realized that his comrades, except KO, left him for dead after the initial mech experiment)
(i just wish we got to see more of them together)
2. dreadwing should have been better utilized. not sure if the writer’s didn’t know what to do with his character, but megatron literally made him 2nd in command, then he would disappear for episodes at a time. when he did appear, he failed at every mission given to him. he definitely should have switched sides, too. then again, not sure what could have been done with his character as an autobot either
3. beast hunters…lasted like four episodes. branding wise, titling season 3 like that made it out to be more than it actually was. predaking as a whole was also useless to me. his entrance was grand, but the payoff was totally not worth it in the end. compared to ultra magnus who’s entrance was lackluster, ended up being a necessary addition. i didn’t even like him in the beginning, but i grew to really enjoy his character development—especially his relationship with jackie
#written on mobile and very rushed#someone with eloquence could further elaborate if they’d like#or disagree#but these two things bug me the most about the show#i’m sure there’s others but knockout and breakdown live in my mind rent free and i need to talk about them#transformers#maccadam#transformers prime#tfp#tfp knockout#tfp breakdown#tfp dreadwing#tfp ultra magnus#🍒⚡⌚🤖🚗

Okay, So I just finished binge watching all four Despicable Mes in one day, and I gotta say that I did not care for the fourth movie.
It was disappointing… which is a shame, because Maxime Le Mal is awesome.
The concept of a cockroach villain, is epic. He had a great character design, a fun personality, and he had past conflict with Gru.
The problem with the fourth movie is that it is not plot driven enough and instead keeps splicing screen time for family fluff moments and side characters like Poppy.
Poppy, as much as I thought she was a fun presence, was NOT needed in the movie, and neither was all of that Safe House Country Club shit. Why would they go out of their way to say ‘Hey Gru? Let’s stop acting like the grumpy protagonist we love and instead behave completely out of character so you can pretend you like playing tennis.’ It was unnecessary and not what we needed from a character we have grown to find charming because of the way he can be both kind and a grumpy asshole. (Like Shrek.) Shrek does not belong at a country club, and neither does Gru.
We introduce a villain school that Gru went to only to not only completely avoid talking about him or the school in that context, but bring it up again solely for an irrelevant character who overall contributes nothing the the story at hand.
All of the other films in some way had a proactivity to them that kept the main antagonist in mind, and this film does not work because they keep shoving Maxime to the side. They should have completely scrapped all the minion fantastic four hero parody crap and stayed focused on the overall narrative and developing the new central antagonist.
It would have been fantastic if we had gotten more background on the conflict between Gru and Maxime. Apparently they had a little rivalry or just generally were jerks to each other in school as we find out that not only did Gru steal his song, Maxime pantsd him in front of the school, not to mention how they interacted in the beginning of the film, so clearly there is bad blood. This is the first villain that had conflict with Gru specifically, and it would have been an excellent central plot point to focus on his early life, or a great way to develop a villain that’s built out of personal grudge rather than inherently destructive ambition like the others.
And instead that was SQUANDERED by this absolutely directionless travesty. Maxime’s girlfriend, first of all, was useless and distracting. All the little cutaway moments and side stories were unnecessary, and overall it was incredibly disappointing to have a guy that can CONTROL COCKROACHES do absolutely nothing with them. He could be strong and invulnerable, He could have been mutating more people, controlling swarms, he could have been going after Gru more intensely and talking about how they bullied each other and that could have been very interesting.
But no. This is the only film in which the main antagonist takes such a back seat that he can effectively be cut from the film and it would hardly impact a thing. Maxime had potential and stage presence, and they did nothing with it in favor of fluff.
And Listen, LISTEN, fluff isn’t bad, I love their family- but it should not comprise 98% of the film!!! It should be wedged into little moments between plot points. Even Despicable Me 3, which had a bizarre out of left field twin plot, handled their villain with more respect and managed to tie in the two narratives in a way that culminated in a final act that was satisfying to all the characters.
Brat had charisma and was a genuine threat and was present enough in the story that he was still necessary to the story overall because he and his diamond were the reason Gru lost his job and he and his brother did the heist to retrieve it. By the end of the first half of the film we knew that Brat was a washed up star that peaked in his childhood and was trapped in his nostalgia, and he had a fully fleshed out motivation and draw to him despite being rather simple that allowed us to indulge in his quirks. His pathetic nostalgic personality CARRIES that film because it’s funny and endearing and believable because we’ve all met someone like that.
But Maxime is not such a simple character by design because his motivations are relationship focused- and in this film they spend most of the time running away from Maxime, which is counter intuitive and lets us understand absolutely nothing about the guy. Because they didn’t delve deeper, Le Mal’s motivations were weak, and thus the overall STORY was weak. We don’t even know why he has such an intense hyper fixation on cockroaches that he would literally roachify himself and make that his central theme!!!
Why didn’t Lucy and the kids go to the safe house and Gru could stay to deal with his rival? It doesn’t make sense!!! And the AVL was doing nothing about the threat at all and instead was being ridiculous by giving the minions super powers? Ineptitude to the point of absurdity. What is the point of going to a safe house if they aren’t trying to resolve the issue and then Gru does it anyway?!!!!
Brain dead. Disappointing. On every level.
They didn’t even resolve the personal conflicts the girls were having, what with Margo having trouble at school and Agnes not liking telling lies! What was the point?!
The animation may have been pretty, but the plot was weak. The character motivations were weak because they didn’t expand on them. There were thousands of directions they could have gone with this film and they chose to go NOWHERE.
The best part of the film is the end, and only because we got to see Maxime be relevant for three minutes and it implies that they’ve managed to wrap up their implied but borderline nonexistent rivalry. And we got two seconds of Brat dancing way too over sensually to ‘Rule the World’ because it’s an 80s song (the power of character consistency)
I don’t like hearing ‘ItS JuSt a KiDs FiLm’- NO. Pandering to children is not an excuse for bad writing in family media, and this franchise has been out long enough that it has an audience larger than just kids. Kids media and family media deserve better and should still have good narrative standards. Do not insult our intelligence by giving us content without purpose. It costs millions of dollars and months upon years to make a film nowadays, there is no excuse for not sitting down and coming up with a decent story direction and cohesive plan. A family film can be enjoyable for little ones and still have depth to it-
Family movies have been getting insanely messy lately with their story content because they think seeing characters we like regurgitated at us with good animation is enough to keep the company afloat and appease everyone, and it’s irritating. Dig deeper, have some respect for your craft. Keep our expectations high to keep us coming back!
I love the Despicable Me world and characters, but honestly this was such a disjointed film that it was almost hard to enjoy because I just kept waiting for something, anything to happen, and was utterly let down.
Maxime Le Mal deserved better as a villain, and this film deserved better. This franchise deserved better. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Sorry for entering your ask but can I rant how much I hate the disrespect Izuku got by the author himself. I know the shonen mangas where the main character get preferred by a much more interesting character (take gojo, or Mikey from tokrev) heck take bsd from dazai or chuuya. These characters are much more popular than main characters but you know what the author respect and care about main character. They have people who outside of these popular characters actually give two shit about the main character or worry about mc.
My favourite example is of Tokyo Revengers, a shonen jump manga. The main character Takemichi family never get revealed. Instead we got more focused on Manjiro Sano, Mikey. The author put more focus on this character and Mikey is the central focus of the story throughout but you know what Wakui still respect Takemichi. He give him character development, people who care about Takemichi as person. When he got down due to plot, people support him. Sure the goal of the main character was saving Mikey till the end to the point he run away from a day before his wedding. Mikey is doomed narration wise and Takemichi want to save Mikey. Takemichi admire and respect Mikey but it is same with Mikey. He admire and respect Takemichi very much. Wakui (author) make sure put these two characters in equal place narration wise. Mikey respect for Takemichi is very strong too. He see him as 'his hero'. Mikey nickname the main character 'Takemitchy' as a nickname. Mikey respect the main character so much it is insane.
There was several plot holes and the way story got rushed in Tokyo Revengers make you desire more but Wakui did give a happy ending for Takemichi. He marry the girl and the reason why the story started, he achieved a goal he wants and is in much better place since the story started.
I don't care about rushed endings or even bad endings. I just want endings at least make sure for main character where they at least respected or in peaceful and happy after achieving their goal after suffering throughout the story. But instead we got this with Izuku canonically and it make my heart ache. Izuku don't deserve this treatment. I don't know what is hori hating his own character so much he give the entire story to bakugou. If he love bakugou that much why not make bakugou main character. Izuku doesn't deserve all this bullshit.
My point is Horikoshi could have easily make a story if he wants to put his shining favourite characters in the centre but make sure to give the respect and care to Izuku like Wakui did with Mikey and Takemichi. But we got this with MHA!!! What the hell?
hi @circles19
First off, I didn't watch the animes you mentioned- yes, I heard about it but never saw it- have heard about their endings here and there and while animes Shonen do have a reputation of bad endings but...let's take a look into Naruto, yes, I promise this will make sense.
Naruto had a really bad ending as the fans label but if we ignore Boruto as any sane fan does and the movie Naruto the last movie...the ending of the manga does make sense. The mc does fullfil his purpose, save Sasuke. Its not ideal, I give that. But as many Naruto meta blogs forget...Naruto is also a victim in the konoha system...him being quiet about the secret of the massacre is not doing him any favours, if anything it does disfavors.
But I always wonder how it would be if Naruto told the secret about the Uchiha massacre. Would people believe? Would they care? If I have made this question a few years ago, many would say how no one would turn a blind eye to such thing....but now I think Naruto may be trying to protect the uchihas in his own way bc imagine if he had revealed everything only for ...no one give a fuck.
The ending of Naruto is not ideal. I would prefer one where Sasuke and Naruto get justice or just leave konoha. But it works for what it is.
Mha is a mean spirit story and lazy. Let me preface saying how ...many mangas in Japan does tackle bullying, and get a hold on this, THEY SHOW AS A BAD THING! So the excuse many hori fans say "Japan sees bullying different" is false. MANY MANY MANGAS SHOW HOW BULLYING IS BAD, HOW YOU SHOULD PITY THIS CHARACTER WHO IS BEING BULLIED, HOW THE BULLY IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.
Izu's origin story doesn't make sense! I'm sure you must have seen some of my posts how I do always say QUIRKLESS discrimination is not a real thing and it's really not. Izu is abused bc...yes, why not? But don't take the abuse too serious. Its just deku.
Izu being QUIRKLESS also adds nothing to the story. What's the matter if he is quirkless? He is abused even when he get a quirk.
He has no friends. No family. No mentor. Nothing.
We don't get Izuku. His abuser? We get why he wants to be a hero. Izu? Shrugs.
Its SMTH I always harpy here. Izu IS the perpetual odd duck. He is not allowed to shine, not allowed to outshine BK. His quirk hurts him (I hate when people call Izu a Gary stu bc "he can use 45% of ofa? Booo" I hate when people say "don't want to make Izu op" like you can't write good stories with a kid who was abused and now has a strong quirk?) and no one in UA cares. No one does anything.
Aizawa is a shitty and malicious teacher.
Am is a shitty and incompetent teacher.
Its like so tiring...Izu is mistreated left and right in the narrative. (I hate ochako. You have no idea she and the rest of A1) and the fandom follow along:
Cucko jokes
Macdonald jokes (he is a teacher in a country where being a teacher is a honour. Leave to hori to do that!)
Im tired. In my fics, I go against fanon and make my own thing. Izu is a woman(bc holy shit izu and women are mistreated fr plus the plotlines I can come up with Izumi is wow) who is allowed to be angry at what she endured.
Fuck ua
Fuck A1.
#hori is a bad writer#a really bad one#izuku deserves better#mha critical#bnha critical#anti bakugou#horiko suck as a writer#i didnt see any of those animes but god mha is such waste#its was never about Izu. it was about bk and abusers#endy's storyline has some merits as but it was abysmal how the domestic abuse was handled

About act 2
So this could be just yapping, the experience is still very fresh and I have to rewatch it to catch everything but. I feel a bit underwhelmed. The show up to this point did a great job of managing the different storylines and the causality but in this act it began to fall apart. I felt like some happenings were left unhandled or were resolved underwhelmingly. With that said this show is still an amazing piece of art, I absolutely love it, and some of the things I will say could very possible be resolved in act III. For example, at the end of act I we saw Caitlyn appointed commander, but in this act she didn't really do anything with it. There was a chance for character development through this yet all we saw were enforcers still being violent, Ambessa pulling the strings as it was expected, Maddie being a rebound for her I guess..? But the act didn't show how power could've changed her, what policies she would bring or what decisions she made. It's especially frustrating because they did it so well with Jayce last season. Not to mention she didn't really show how she felt after leaving Vi.
Ambessa showed her teeth in this act, a little more than she should've. She got a lot of screentime which she used to assert dominance so to say. I think it was a bit too much of her, she didn't really change that much, other character's could've used this time better. Time is the weakness of this season for me so far, they want to show so much, they only have 3 more episodes and yet they don't use it wisely. The Black Rose and Mel being an actualy magic user(which I speculated for 3 years btw its amazing) could've been shown in 2 scenes and still would've the same meaning and depth. This is also true for Singed to a decree, tho not that much, I enjoyed his scenes, and the reveal with his daughter. With more characters back in the final act I'm a bit worried about this.
For Vi's depressive period I would've expected more than the montage we already saw in the trailer, but I guess that's okay. They did a great job with the sisters finding out Warwick is Vander, finding his old hideout, expressing their emotions, I really liked that part. She and Jinx came to terms very quickly after hating eachother and fighting so much but I can accept that it was overshadowed by Vander being alive, given that was the cause of them braking apart in the begining. I didnt really get why she went into Ambessas camp, and why that being captured act was necessary, I know they mentioned a diversion but it was a bit weird for me. This is on Caitlyn more, I dont think her flipping sides was justified enough, we didn't see her frustrated with Ambessa or Singed.
Jinx's story took a 180 turn with her not caring anymore. I loved to see her relationship with Isha develop, how emotions, positive emotions came back to her. She even got in touch with Vi for Vander and from her perspective it made more sense, cause I think she let go of her hate in act I already. I loved how they stopped fighting when Vi hurt Isha, that moment empathizes that they never wanted to hurt innocents and children, but through their story it happened again and again. I can't wait to see her lose her shit again in act III because of the traume she yet again experienced.
Viktor's story didn't go the way I thought it would but with this ending it kind of makes sense. I don't think he's actually dead, he still has a role to play. With he's community ruined he'll choose another path which I'm excited to see. This community didn't really seem that great with everyone connected him like a hive mind, and also we've seen with Salo that anyone he healed went through personality changes which is really shady. I can't wait to get to know the difference between him and Jayce.
And Jayce my boy the hate you're about to recive, you're in for a rough time. I actually liked how his character made everything more complicated in the last episode, and that he killed Viktor without a word is just Wild. Cant wait to see.
Warwick has been teased for so long and it was worth the wait. He carried this act for me, the sheer distruction in the prison was enough. And they gave him emotion with Vander still being inside, but I think with Viktor's "passing" that's over. He's gonna become the monster we waited for.
What do you guys think?
They did my girl Sevika dirty, losing an arm again?! Poor woman fr

@minamishimada835
That might be the intent, but it's not the text.
First off, Aqua concluded his revenge in chapter 155, literally saying "My revenge...is over now." Then a few chapters later, he discovered a motive to kill Kamiki that have very little to do with Ai. Aqua killed Kamiki because Kamiki was gonna kill Ruby, and he was going to do that because of reasons that eventually tie back to Ai, but those reasons don't matter to Aqua. He's just murder-suiciding to save his sister.
Second (and more importantly for this post), Ruby et al living the best they can in the wake of Aqua's death is very nearly not depicted. We see Akane and Kana and Miyako and Ruby sad, and then we get a fast-forward montage of them being sad some more, and at some point they stop being sad. If the point of this last arc was Aqua's loved ones moving on from his death, it needed to show the part where they actually moved on, not just a "before" and "after". (And boy howdy did Akasaka linger on the "before" to milk maximum feels out of sad teenagers!)
Ruby gets the worst of this. On one hand, we barely see her initial grief. We see her wordlessly crying in a room alone, and alone wordlessly crying in a room, and wordlessly crying alone in a room some more. As a beat to convey sadness, it works, but it doesn't do much except convey the idea of Sad without support.
Contrast that with Kana's slappy meltdown. That's not just dramatic, it's extremely specific. It conveys exactly what cocktail of grief-ey emotions Kana is feeling; she's angry, she feels betrayed, she almost certainly bottled her grief up until she did something stupid. And while Akasaka should have shown Kana recovering from that grief, we see that it's sustained by white-hot anger; we understand that those emotions can die down on their own, so not showing the recovery is less of a crippling omission.
What does Ruby crying tells us? Well, it's default shorthand for misery, especially with the dark color palette. And that's about it. We needed at least one scene of another character talking to her, trying to help her feel better, to try and wring some actual blood out of the stone. Also...maybe this is just me having more experience with the "crying alone in dark room" kind of sadness than the "yell at a corpse" kind, but I have trouble imagining that kind of grief going away on its own.
Contrast that with (I swear this is relevant) Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury, episode 22. Miorine is sad, but Suletta talking through the door at her not only developed her character but let Miorine clarify her feelings in a way that no blanket burrito could dream of. Also, it shows how Miorine recovered! I think we're supposed to assume MEM-Cho and Kana did the same for Ruby (minus the fiancee thing), but we don't see that happen.
I'm gonna paraphrase a bit from Claire Aihoshiino: Ruby could’ve had a chance to confront her own depression and her unhealthy codependency that hurt her brother so badly. Instead, we get an endpoint in lieu of any real work necessary to get there without any indication that she has learned anything meaningful from this arc or that her relationship with her family has changed at all.
I paraphrased that bit because this has been a recurring problem with Ruby (one I'm pretty sure Claire described better elsewhere but Tumblr's search function sucks). Ruby has the skeleton of a character arc, but we never see any meat. The obstacles and struggles which make a story better than an outline are all handled offscreen if they're mentioned at all. Ruby just kinda glides through the narrative and entertainment industry alike, unfettered by things that might bother Akane or Kana or Ai.
What's the point of putting Ruby through all that if we hardly see any of it? Why make Ruby fight if we don't get to see her win?
The more I think about it, the more baffling Ruby's treatment in the last chapter of Oshi no Ko is.
The last few chapters didn't do much to establish Ruby's reaction to Aqua's stupid plan death beyond general details like "she cried a lot," so I assumed the last chapter was going to focus on that. And I guess it kinda did?
But it fast-forwarded through all the details so we could get to her Dome Concert halfway through the chapter and focus on that. Don't focus on Aqua's death, focus on Ruby's life and what she accomplishes.
As advice for Ruby, that's fine. But as a way to write Ruby, it means we don't feel the weight of Ruby losing Aqua/Goro-sensei. We're told that she cried a lot and stayed in her room a while, but only for a moment. We get a panel in chapter 165, two pages in 166, and then the entire rest of the chapter is Ruby standing up and Getting Over It.
What was the point?
I could ask that about many things in the last arc or two of OnK, but right now I'm asking it about Ruby in chapter 166. What's the point of showing us that Ruby overcame her grief if her grief was never presented as a real obstacle? Why should I care that she got to live the life Ai and Aqua wanted her to if there's no real struggle?
(Why should I care that Ruby's lighting up her fans' world the way Ai did? In the end, what did that do for her? Aren't we back to square 1?)
There's a lot that OnK had yet to properly resolve, and it spent its last chapter telling us about Ruby's awesome idol career. And that's it. And that's disappointing.

OC Asks:
Character Design Edition
Thank you for the tag @mrsmungus!!
You made me realize I did not have a piccrew for Faith, and I had to search one out to remedy this. So that said, here is a cartoon rep of the main protagonist of my original story, Faith Lochren.
Hot mess of a woman...
That said, I had picked a face claim of Jennifer Carpenter, specifically in a Debra Morgan capacity, for reference sake. Very... Eloquent with her words, and always said with such tact. And by that, I mean, she does neither of those things.
Full questions and answers below for length sake.
No pressure tagging: @cxttlefishcxller @thebejeweledwatercat @darknightfrombeyond and OPEN TAG for anybody who would want to jump in!!
Gance: At first glance, what stands out most about your OC's appearance? What's their distinguishing feature?
In general, the overall disheveled state of her would most likely draw attention first. She has no fucks left to give. Pair that with her recent tendency to live life in a drunken stupor, and you get a mess of unkempt hair falling wherever it wants, buttons that don't quite match up with their intended button holes, and whatever loose socks are closest to the bed, matching be damned...
Face: Describe your OC's face. What's their smile like? Are their orbs cerulean? What would someone notice first when looking at them?
Smiles are beautiful, but tainted by the fact that it's almost guaranteed to be accompanied by a fair amount of shit. Hazel eyes that can change based on their surroundings are now dulled and dark, usually hidden by heavy lids. While there are some people that can be said to bring a light to the room; Faith brings a storm.
Stature: What's your OC's body type? How tall are they? Do they wear clothing to accentuate their look or do they try to mask it?
With a slender build and average height, Faith would have no problem turning heads if she put her mind to it. And, she did put more effort into it once upon a time. But now the clothes hang where the fall, and she isn't bothering to make any attempts.
Motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?
Faith was active once. Fairly swift, decently coordinated. But now with about three shots in her bloodstream at any given time, she's lost a good deal of that. Clothing is just another obstacle to work around.
Stillness: How does your OC act while still? Are they fidgety? Do they have any common gestures or tics? Does their clothing affect how they hold themselves while at rest?
In her past, Faith did have issues with anxiety. Self consciousness that would eat at her. But now, it's just a dull voice in the back of her head. A voice that takes a back seat to the cynicism, and is drowned out with drinks. Smoking numbs the urge to fight, and swirling the booze around the glass fills any lingering urge. Clothing still hangs where it falls.
Canvas: Does your OC have any scars, piercings, tattoos, or other markings? Do they display or cover them up at all?
There's nothing that truly separates her in this respect. When she was a kid, her ears were pierced, but she hates the weight of wearing anything. By the end of the day after wearing earrings, her ears hurt, and why the fuck would she want to keep doing that.
Night: What does your OC wear to sleep? Do they have a favorite pair of PJs, or are they more the birthday suit type?
Preference used to be underwear only. Sometimes and oversized T-shirt to go with. Now, it's whatever she finds herself in when she's tired. Sometimes sleep calls before the desire to strip down hits, and she's face down passed out in bed with a button down and jeans. She usually manages to ditch the coat and shoes beforehand. Usually.
Day: What does your OC wear on a normal day? Why do they default to those clothes? Do they wear similar things, or do they change it up?
Faith doesn't have a shortage of button down shirts and cozy sweaters. Jeans are preferred, although she has held a few jobs that require dress pants. Shirts would also be acceptable, but fuck that noise. Pants or bust. She'll throw on a blazer to dress it up as well, although anymore, it's haphazard at best.
Formal: What's your OC's formal look? Do they like dressing up? Do they have different looks for different occasions?
Dressing up is not one of Faith's strong points. Put her in high heels, and you might as well be looking at a baby deer staggering about. Good chance that ends with an ace bandage and crutches. Blazers about as good as your getting, and she'd be more apt to throw on a tie than a dress. If she needs to, she'll through on a dress here or there, but flat shoes only.
Informal: What's your OC's lazy-day look? How do they like to dress when they're winding down?
Jeans are a staple. She could throw on some sweatpants or fuzzy PJ bottoms if they're there, but it doesn't really feel any different. T- shirt. Sweaters. Whatever is clean and easy is the best for her. Lazy day and all; that means no work in thinking about what she's wearing.
Outerwear: What's your OC's outerwear situation? Jacket, sweater, cloak? What sort of weather do they deal with most and how do they protect themselves?
Faith is definitely in an area that will encompass all four seasons. Sometimes within the same week. Hoodies, blazers, or jackets for spring/fall days or summer nights. Heavier pea coats and puffy winter jackets for the colder days. Sweaters for all times, cause sometimes, you're just cold. And fingerless gloves are just about perfect anytime.
Footwear: What does your OC wear on their feet?
Never heels. Never. Platforms are Shakey at best. Sneakers, boots, sandles, perfectly fine, but she is not twisting another ankle, thank you very much.
Road: What does your OC wear while traveling? Do they have high-quality equipment, or are they making do? What does their gear look like?
Faith was never really prepared for outdoors. She loves it, but it was never a big thing until Paul came into her life. The most she has is what could easily be seen from a magazine image as staple items. Hiking boots and flannel, that's what people wear, right? So that's what she has. Thankfully, the hiking boots and button ups are nice enough to fit into everyday rotation. Not that she's really concerned with acceptable in the first place.
Armor: What kind of armor does your OC wear? Is it well kept? Bonus: where does it come from? Is there a story behind it?
No armor for Faith, unless you count the emotional kind. And that shit has some sizable splits that need attention.
Arms: Does your OC have any weapons? What weapons do they carry, and how do they wear them when they're not fighting?
Faith doesn't really carry weapons. She has mace, but also has a bad habit of forgetting to take it anywhere. It lives in the end table drawer for the most part. She can wield a fine frying pan when push comes to shove. Baseball bats can do some damage too. She's resourceful.
Roots: Is your OC's look inspired by any specific style of clothing or fashion trend? What are the roots and/or inspiration for their look?
She's a bit of a chaotic blend of grunge and noir. On put together days, she could pull a stylish detective vibe, but anymore, it's leaning way more grunge with the lack of maintenance and care.
Texture: Does your OC favor any specific kinds of cloth or textures? Is there anything they can't wear or don't like? What sort of fabrics do they prefer?
There's not much of a no-go for Faith unless it's scratchy. Nobody should have to put up with scratchy fabric, and she sure as shit won't be dealing with it. Soft fabrics are welcome, especially in sweater form. She's been known to frequent thrift shops back in the day, and loves a good broken in feel that sometimes comes with those finds.
Wardrobe: How big is your character's wardrobe? Do they wear things threadbare, or can they afford new clothes often? Are they any good at mending and repairing their own clothing?
Threadbare. Adds character. She has attempted to sew a few of the larger holes, but has a tendency to just use whatever thread is around, regardless of the fabric color. If you see sandy thread holding together a black sweater, no the fuck you didn't. She tried.
Bling: What jewelry does your OC wear? Does it have any meaning?
She has a simple rose gold engagement ring that Paul gave her. She will not be taking it off. Ever. And if you try, you better pray she's dead. And you better be prepared to be haunted for the trouble, if that's the case.
Hair: How does your OC wear their hair? Does it have some kind of meaning?
Even before her life fell apart, Faith didn't put much effort into her hair. One cut every other year. Let it ride until it gets too long and then it gets hacked away. She's donated it a few times. There's not much meaning to it; she just really doesn't care that much. It's only gotten worse now, and is known to be a tangled unkempt mess.
Makeup: Does your OC wear makeup? How often? What kind? Why do they wear makeup, and do they like it?
On special occasions, she would, but not frequently. Just another pain in the ass thing to deal with. And scrubbing off the scary eyes after the eyeliner and mascara run in the shower is the fucking worst.
Favorite: Does your OC have a favorite article of clothing or accessory? What is it? What's the meaning behind it? Do they wear it all the time or do they wear it sparingly to keep it safe?
The "bling" item is just about it. Everything else is a matter of convenience.
Change: Has your OC ever drastically changed their appearance? Significant haircuts, big tattoos, complete wardrobe swap, etc? Why? How do they feel about the change?
Hair really is her biggest swing. She's tried color as well as length changes, but it's just more upkeep that she hates commiting to. She's not a big fan of change. At all. And with the threadbare mentality for clothing, she's just been tacking on items here and there for rotation for years.
Alternate: What would your OC's alternate universe look be? If they're a fantasy character, what's their modern look? If they're sci-fi, what's their fantasy look? What AU would you want to see your OC in, and how would they dress themself? Bonus: Prompt an AU!
Well, I've been playing a shit ton of Diablo lately, so I guess I could see her as a rogue or sorcerer. She's quick and resourceful. And I'm sure she would love to throw some flames at quite a few people. Please fuck with her now. Try it. But she'd also get herself into trouble fast.
#this was way longer than I expected#but still very fun#and helpful to get in the mindset#did I mention I love character development?#cause I love character development#mouse is back on her nonsense#close to the vale#oc: faith lochren

thank you for addressing the Alhaitham and aranara thing!!! loved your critique and explanations! personally I feel overwhelmed with game lore since there's just too much and I think many people like me just tend to forget stuff and then hype over new bits of info?? nice to know that there are people like you who actually remember and understand the lore to analyze and explain these things. it makes me happy
Yeah, I think it's totally fair to be excited about new possibilities and jump on them as inspiration to create new things like fanart and fics!
I just think the Hoyoverse fandoms in particular have a major issue with not being able to distinguish between "This is now my headcanon based on an exciting new hint" and "This is absolutely canon now, and if you think otherwise, you're mischaracterizing."
The moment a lot of people in Hoyo fandoms see a new interpretation on social media or a new tidbit in a Hoyo promotion pop up, they completely rearrange their understanding of the games and characters to suit the new information, usually without checking whether it actually matches canon or not.
And personally I think it's completely cool for people to have headcanons, even really wild and out there headcanons! Even headcanons that contradict canon in the first place! Go for it!!
But I'm just begging people to remember that they can't enforce their headcanons like they're indisputable canon material. Until there is evidence in the game, confirmed word from the developers, or at least some explicit confirmation that the promotional material is fully canon, then whatever takes the fans develop are just fanon and should be treated as such, and people should really be careful not to frame their personal interpretations as canon without at least having some form of evidence from the game itself.
It's like... don't write an essay for school without sources! Don't claim Alhaitham can see aranara without doing your research on aranara!! 😂
#genshin impact#alhaitham#fandom dynamics#in general I think this is a problem in a lot of fandoms#people see a take that they love and just run with it#which is great!!!#...so long as people can remember the difference between headcanon and actual canon#like I personally don't mind the idea of Alhaitham being able to see aranara#I kinda don't think it's true#since he's literally never mentioned seeing one#and it's never come up even one time in-game#but hey#I wouldn't mind if they did make it canon!#I just really think the whole#“I completely changed my views on Alhaitham”#“and now think he's full of inner-child charm”#“because I read one tweet on twitter”#is like... maybe not the most accurate way to build your interpretations of characters#and I am not looking forward to the sudden aggression#the fandom will develop for anyone who DOESN'T think Alhaitham#is a kid at heart

jake oettinger via fanatics view — 2024 nhl all-star media day — 02.01.24
[you and wedgewood are tight. i just wonder, what makes a good backup in the NHL these days? you know, it’s a bit of a changing dynamic, workload, and, you know, some teams have three goalies. like, what works between you two, what makes scott good as that number two.] yeah, i think, first and foremost, like, we just root for each other really hard, i think that’s, like — you can say that, you know, but not everyone really means it and you know, i know when i’m in there he means … he wants me to do my best, and he knows that when he’s in there i’m pulling for him. and we push each other a ton and … he’s just a great guy to have around, like, even — you know, if he was a — not a goalie, if he was just a guy on the team, we’d be good friends too, so, he’s just a great dude and i’m lucky to share the crease with him and we push each other a lot, we both wanna, you know, be the number one guy, so, um. you know, i know if i, you know, take my foot off the gas, that he’s gonna take over, so. [i know you’ve been, like — say, at the program, you were there with woll, you guys probably shared, but like — you guys were younger, were you at times, like, i’ve gotta check myself and be a little bit more positive?] yeah, for sure, i think that’s a — i mean, that’s the thing, like, about being a goalie. there’s only one net, right? so it’s … it’s a hard position, um … and for me, obviously, i want to play as much as i can and, you know — someone else doing poor doesn’t, uh, — like, help me in any way, you know what i mean? like, i know if i play my best then i’m gonna be the number one, so that’s kind of the only thing i focus on. i’ve had great relationships with every goalie i’ve played with and, um … i’m looking to do that the rest of my career.
uh, one piece of sports memorabilia you wish you could own?
well, for my whole career i was dying to get a henrik lundqvist signed stick and i just got one, like, two weeks ago, so it was, like, the best gift i’ve ever gotten in my life, so.
how’d you finally get it?
uh, my guy at bauer hooked me up. he, like, had a case? a bauer thing, and i thought it was gonna be an all-star stick. and he was like, open it up, and i opened it up, and it was one of his used sticks signed and it was … coolest thing i own.
how would you change NHL overtime rules?
i think i would do … ten minute overtime.
three on three still?
three on three still. and then maybe … try that for a bit, and if it didn’t work, maybe do no, uh — ‘cause, like, it’s such a big … everyone wants to keep possession, maybe do a no over-and-back rule.
finally – i know i’m asking a goalie this question – on a scale from one to ten, how superstitious are you?
i’m gonna go, like … four, five.
yeah?
pretty low, yeah. you can ask my fiancée, my teammates, my friends. it’s nothing too crazy, just go out there and have fun.
i’m doing a story on PWHL minnesota team. i just think that minnesota fans are amazing, because they watch those women from all the way out here. for someone who’s from minnesota, can you tell me what that environment is like?
yeah, it’s so special, i think, like, boys and girls high school hockey there is just, like, so important, uh … it’s kinda like football in texas, that’s what i compare it to, and, uh — i played in the state tournament, um, my freshman year in high school and that was, like, one of my favorite hockey memories of my whole career, um, so — it’s just so special, and i think, i mean … when i saw that they had 13,000 or whatever at the x it didn’t surprise me one bit, i mean, it’s the state of hockey for a reason, and, uh, just happy to see that league getting the support they deserve and the ladies getting the recognition they deserve.
are there any minnesota female hockey players who really stand out for you?
um, well, one i was gonna say is, i played with — when i was at BU i played with, uh, abby cook and jesse compher and they’re both in the PWHL now, and, i mean, we got to go watch them win the beanpot, and, i mean, the hockey’s great, you know — these women are so talented and, uh, deserve to have a place where they can play and, you know, get paid just like we do and, um, you know, i think minnesota’s such a good spot for it.
#hockey#stars#dallas stars#jake oettinger#scott & joseph woll are also mentioned but i'm not tagging them. this is character development. almost.#also there's some more stuff from this interview under the cut#some genuinely fun stuff re: the pwhl & how he'd change overtime & hockey memorabilia & his level of superstition!!#but the audio in this video was SO bad that i'm electing not to make myself listen to it ever again. as a kindness.#he did an interview w an official nhl podcast where he ALSO talked at length about wedge + the lundqvist stick. he's got a brand!#that brand is goalie4goalie#he's a goalie's goalie#though i will say on that note ...... saying he'd still be scott's friend even if he wasn't a goalie ......... that's True Love babyyyy#z:edit

Hello Rassilon. Apologies for the deception but I rather wanted to make sure you started reading, so I thought it best not to announce myself. I'm assuming you're alone; you always did prefer to read your Asks in private. I wouldn't try too hard to stop reading, there's every likelihood you'll just hurt yourself. So just listen.
Anon ask of Omega (Your Ex) regarding Rassilon's current partners. Ask begins.
I hope you'll forgive me the self-indulgence, but I have worked so very hard for this moment, a culmination of two centuries of work. It's rare that you get the chance to monologue through another, and you can't tell me you're not curious.
Why does an ex seek to talk about their former partner's lovers?
It's a simple enough answer: for satisfying one's curiosity. Uninspired, perhaps, but my god. The discovery, not simply of the variety of partners you take interest in, but that you would quite willingly date the teacher of one of Gallifrey's most infamous children.
It's a strange thing to know about an ex, but the fascination, Rassilon, the fascination of it all. I have dedicated my afterlife to handing myself knowledge of these partners, and I feel nothing but satisfaction in this choice.
I believe there are far more people in this world that would catch your eye than you would ever guess. And I have preceeded all of them.
Of course, their desires did not manifest overnight. When Tumblr first gathered your romantic intereste – Borusa, Banthony, and the rest – to discuss and hypothesize on the nature of their love for you, I felt what I believe we all felt: jealousy, and anger.
But as attention on Tumblr increased in number and discussion on the greatest partner for you emerged, I began to develop a very specific concern. Banthony was so obsessed with his ideas on you and his marriage, even as our fellows began to flirt and confess our love to you ourselves.
I began to worry that if Banthony successfully attempted to catch your gaze, then I would be as much a victim as any, trapped in the nightmare landscape of a twisted world without your love.
At first, I attempted prevention, but the cause seemed hopeless. The only way to ensure I did not suffer the tribulations of what I believed to be an inevitable confession of love was to stop my own feelings of love. So what began as an experiment soon became a race. I would make you fall in love with Banthony before professing your love to anyone else, therefore eliminating what myself or Borusa's feelings may be.
And there, I think, we are brought just about up to date. I have enjoyed our little trip down memory lane, but past here lies only a happy future for you and Banthony.
Goodbye, Rassilon
- Omega xoxo
I- I don't know what to say.
Omega, if this is really you, if you somehow, by every twist and turn of fate imaginable, survived this long in some form... My love for you has always been the greatest of any I have felt. Never have I loved another in the way I loved you.
But that is in the past. I have to stop letting you hold me back. I made my decision that fateful day; I did what I had to do to reach the top, to shape this society- our society, our dream- in the way that it must be shaped. Gallifrey could never have had two rulers. You knew this going in. And, best of all, dearest love, you knew that I would not be able to stand a threat to my power and my control. So, as much as I loved you, Omega, my sweet Ohm, my darling Peylix, I had to let you go. For us, for our home, for our people, for our dream. For Gallifrey. We would both be dead and gone by now if I had not, but now, you live on in your beautous creations, and in our shared society. Look at our children. At what we have created. This must be enough.
Oh, but my darling, you never could be so easily satisfied.
That is why I loved you. And that is why I had to let you go.
If this really were you, I would say, dearest Ohm, that I am glad you are able to let me go. I know that must be exceedingly difficult. But, I am happy with Borusa, and I do not love Banthony. If I did not have Borusa to think of, perhaps things would be different, and I would honour your wishes. Perhaps, then, you may finally find peace.
I am truly sorry that I must leave you trapped in your death, but you will never be in a world without my love. My love for you transcends the grave- and yes, I know, it must be your grave, my darling, for you cannot have survived beyond. I know, in my hearts, that you are gone and that this cannot be from you, not really, for you are lost to all but my memory.
Goodbye, my love. For whatever isn't left of you, for whatever could have been- my love for you persists even now, across regenerations and across death and across time.
#sorry it took me so long to get here#this is truly the most incredible ask I have ever received#ask#omega#of rassilon#answer#banthony#borusa#also. a little obsessed with the idea of a once-enraged ex lover returning to being obsessed with the guy who LITERALLY MURDERED HIM only t#end up wanting the best for him and trying to match make him. And instead of choosing to encourage the love of a fellow obsessive sub who#is clearly in an unhealthy relationship with Rassy (Borusa)#ergo mirroring his own lost relaitonship#he chooses to encourage the love of a FICTIONAL CHARACTER who was basically a MEME brought to life only to annoy Rassy#idk what you call it... character development?? BUt this is certainly wonderful and intriguing and hilarious#seriously. you are brilliant#also I think it's important to mention that the mian reason this took me so long to get to was because the first time I read it I opened it#at school and burst out laughing in front of everyone#and I haven't been able to answer this without laughing uproariously for so so long#and then I took the break and then I left town for a bit#but I'm back and I'm still laughing so so much and yet here we are#I did it!!!#also I hope Borusa sees this and gets mad and finally leaves this bitch (rassy)#he deserves better#find later#omega omega omega

while im looking thru my old unfinished art, happy pride month to my two gay kitties from the warriors oc fanfic i was writing back in 2017-2018. featuring skystar's boyfriend who would show up later in the fic which i never got to write far enough to feature him. lol
#art is also from 2018 .#main reason i didnt finish it is. as you can probably see. the background was a huge massive landscape thing#which i. did not have the patience nor skill for#and i guess instead of scaling it back i just . like. gave up on it LOL#brot posts#wips#sometimes i still fantasize about picking that story back up and finishing it..................#also whenever i rarely mention this guy i always have to preface it. i made this oc back in middle school like a year before#dawn of the clans even started publishing at all#and so i named him skystar all on his own i did not know of any skystar in canon#i mean logically i should have known if theres a skyclan and all clan founders were [clan-prefix]star then like.#logically there would be a skystar#but i was using fanclans and i loved the name sky- as a prefix and i also was a stickler for name rules#which included not ever ever using a clan name as a prefix#so i had fanclans and skyclan was not one of them THEREFORE sky as a prefix was free fucking reign baby#and then. as one does. i made him leader#his warrior name was skystorm though which i still think is baller#anyway and his boyfriend (on the left) is named Bluebell#former kittypet who keeps his kittypet name#largely also bc i have a pet peeve where i hate two-syllable prefixes#but as i was trying to write the fic in 2018 years after when i first made these characters in middle school#i think i was trying to workshop bluebell's name cuz i wasnt entirely thrilled with it#bluebell as a whole is not very developed bc i really havent touched him much at all since middle school#since. yknow. i never got to the point in the story where he first appears during my 2018 fic.............. lol#hell where i left off in that fic skystar is still just skypaw
