My little sister is married! Onyinye married her college sweetheart Joseph Anyadike in a beautiful ceremony in Kelechi’s church.

She invited all of our siblings and our parents, which is a move I definitely wasn’t expecting from her, but I’m glad she did. Life is too short to cut off family for petty reasons. I did hear Dad mutter about her dress not being modest and her stretched ears not looking feminine but Mom hushed him. I think she’s just happy Onyinye actually got married and seems to have a heart for children. Onyinye will still be working as a marine biologist and moved to Tartosa with Joey, who works in tech.

Shortly after the wedding, Lotanna proposed to his girlfriend Tori. Everyone was extremely shocked, including Onyinye. I hope Lotanna let her know he was going to propose but something tells me no. I wish nothing but the best for both couples.

I saw a long post about this on the c!wilbur community and they brought up some good points about c!fundy and c!wilbur so I wanna talk about the issues I have with c!fundy revolving c!wilbur (not his character overall)

c!Fundy neg ahead

One point i’ll make clear immediately is that c!fundy abandoned c!wilbur first. c!wilbur did not “abandon” c!fundy until his suicide. That’s just the truth and i’m tired of certain people spinning it in a different way.

c!fundy chose to join manburg and stand on that stage and publicly declare that his ONLY relations with L’manburg was just being born there. Nothing else. I don’t care about his motives, he chose to do that infront of every and this hurt c!wilbur whether this fandom wants to admit it or not

Now yes, c!wilbur wasn’t the best father by any means. Canonically he babied c!fundy pretty hard and there is probably a reason for it and that reason isn’t malicious at all in my opinion! I’m not stating a reason simply because we never got one in canon but I doubt that c!wilbur was being intentionally malicious towards c!fundy, I genuinely think he was just trying to protect him like everyone else and he went about it the wrong way. Not that any reason justifies it since it hurt c!fundy, but still i’m making a point here that not everything c!wilbur does is malicious

What c!fundy did was way too far and not justifiable. He ran against his own father then sided with c!schlatt and got up on stage and said that shit. Then he proceeded to burn down the flag with c!wilbur watching who might I remind you was also exiled brutally killed by the side c!fundy just joined! I’m pretty sure he was also up on stage when c!wilbur was killed so he just watched him get murdered!

Moving fowards, suddenly after c!wilbur death we see c!fundy being all sad and claiming he was abandoned (JUST LIKE C!NIKI) I understand being hurt and upset your own father died, but to completely turn around and paint this narrative that you were intentionally abandoned is not only ableist but also it’s not going to make c!fundy feel any better. This is just bad writing imo and it only serves to demonize c!wilbur further

Also didn’t he try to get adopted by c!eret? Cleary, to me atleast c!fundy doesn’t care that much about c!wilbur anymore since he wanted so badly to be adopted but the person who KILLED c!wilbur and his family and then never fucking apologized correctly for it!

Now moving onto revival, c!wilbur has every right not to seek out c!fundy. To him, c!fundy set a clear boundary and why would he go out of his way to try and get c!fundy back when the last time he remembers c!fundy made it clear he didn’t want that? This fandom would’ve demonized him anyways if he sought out c!fundy trying to re build their relationship so he literally cannot win in any scenario

Now onto the stream. I think that stream wasn’t good at all. I appreciated their good moments sure but I have a few specific issues with it

One is the end of the stream where c!fundy JUMPS INTO THE LMANHOLE to “get away” from c!wilbur

talk about overreaction. I’m sorry I just think that moment was only added to give them more angst. c!fundy could’ve easily just walked past/away from him or waited for c!wilbur to leave before leaving himself, would’ve had much more of an impact I think.

and to be fair, c!wilbur was arguably pretty far away from c!fundy when he jumped, he only stopped to look back at HIS SON one more time before leaving LIKE HE WAS ASKED TO. I’m not even going into how this affected c!wilbur much because I genuinely just think that was shitty writing and didn’t need to happen, it was only there for useless angst.

Now moving on next part I have a problem with is the ���why did you die?” line from fundy. Can I just say right off the bat the way it was said was so fucking rude of c!fundy. It wasn’t somber or out of genuine concern, he sounded angry at c!wilbur for *checks notes* KILLING HIMSELF!!!!!

I don’t care that he was hurt. You don’t say that to your father who killed himself. You don’t say that to any suicidal person actually. He was clearly uninterested in c!wilburs life yet he wants to act like this?? c!fundy painted it (intentionally or not) as a malicious calculated plan to abandon him instead of c!wilbur being at his breaking point. He couldn’t take it anymore so he killed himself yet c!fundy never acknowledged that

That stream, like a lot of the others imo just feels redundant because c!fundy never apologized or admitted he was in the wrong. They never talked about c!fundy abandoning c!wilbur for seemingly no reason or even the pogtopia buttons!! Which he did!! Their conversation wasn’t mutual. Even if it was and in the end c!fundy still wanted no contact, it would’ve atleast been satisfying to the viewers that they atleast talked with each other and acknowledged when they hurt each other

Think that’s where i’ll shut up now. I still have a few more things to say

I understand that i’m very biased right now. I am a c!wilbur apologist and I understand that my bias could possibly be affecting my view point.

I can still sympathize with c!fundy. He was hurt and he was hurt by c!wilbur. That’s just fact and c!wilbur did need to apologize to him and i’m glad that it was called out in the beginning by c!fundy that c!wilbur tried to walk away. Obviously I don’t think it was right of c!eret to trick c!wilbur into seeing c!fundy when im assuming he wasn’t prepared to talk to him if at all but im glad they atleast talked and had some good moments together.

Now just some light myth clearing from me

That’s just an obvious lie. He cared about his son and he cared a lot whether he admitted it or not. You all forget sometimes that c!wilbur lies and he lies a lot to avoid being vunerable. He literally stood up for his son when c!schlatt said some transphobic ass shit to c!fundy even though their relationship was ruined. It was alluded that he fainted when c!fundy jumped to get away from him, why would that happen if he didn’t care?

So we're all sick of antis using asexuality as an excuse to censor sexual art and expression. But I'm also getting sick of everyone going "but lots of aces enjoy and/or write porn!" in response. We all know this is true, and it's important to not send a message to those aces types that they're doing ace wrong.

But at the same tim, we can do better for the aces who don't like smutty fanfic. Instead of telling the antis that plenty of aces don't fit their narrative, straight up tell them to stop weaponizing asexuality.

Aces who are squicked out by E rated fic exist and deserve support and respect as asexuals. When we see idiots going "this identity exists, therefore stop making art" the reasonable response is "stop being a dick" not to erase and ignore the very identity they're coopting.

We cannot allow trolls, bigots, and fundies to appropriate one queer identity in order to silence other queer identities. We cannot let them split the queer community yet again over something as dumb as the fact that some people don't like horny fanfic.

The antis who go "think of the aces!" are infantilizing and removing agency from responsible adults who filter their fandom experience to their preferences. The correct response is not to go "anyone who is squicked by sex scenes is a meany, real aces write kinky fic" but to go "stop infantilizing our fellow queers, we all know how to use an exclude filter".

Anyone who is squicked out by E rated fic on AO3 can just filter it out, no matter the reason for their squick. Every single ace I've met who doesn't want to read horny fanfic simply filters it out without making a big concern trolling stink about how it shouldn't exist. These people should be respected, not erased, when some jackass tries to pretend that you have to write less gay sex fic in order to "protect" someone who already filtered it out.

It's the same exact thing as when they go "think of survivors!" when they tell you not to write certain ships or dynamics. Yes, many survivors are the ones writing that ship in the first place, but many others are uncomfortable with the ship and just filter it out.

Note that in nine times out of ten, the anti pitching the temper trantum is neither asexual nor a trauma survivor, they're just using a convenient demographic to shame people out of making art.

Con AU: AU where Dream gets teleported into a convention in the real world and a cosplayer finds him and thinks hes an amazing c!Dream cosplayer so they hang out in the convention for the weekend while he hides the fact that he is the actual character and from Sam and Quackity.

DnD Con AU: A variant of my Con AU! Cala helps Dream escape the prison without having knowledge who he is and dnd shenanigans ensue within the Five Kingdoms of the Esempi. However her, Dream, Fundy and her wife Spooky make the most chaotic group and just try to figure out what to do.

Digitial Friend AU: Modern day AU where XD and Callahan used to make old style desktop buddies in the early 2000s that were the dsmp characters, but deleted most of their existence of it abruptly. Decades later a very tired and reclused Cala finds a downloader of them after going down a rabbit hole and one by one interacts with them and realizes these aren't just some old programs someone made. Also she's apartment neighbors with XD and Callahan :) This is horror centric so be warned

TMA DSMP AU: The magnus archives but dsmp! A lot of fear entity stuff involving the characters and cala; Dream is an 'archvist' but when he mysteriously disappears and after Cala suffers an accident everyone keeps telling her he doesnt exist. She just wants to find her friend. This is very horror centric and unsettling so be warned

Call of Cthulhu AU: After Quackity and Sam get into an argument with the two prisoners (Cala and Dream), the four of them realize they are trapped inside the prison and are forced to work together. This is EXTREMELY horror based and will have unsettling content, and it is based off the call of cthulhu system -- basically the antithesis of the dnd con au

Noir AU: After Cala is witness to a murder, they go to a detective named Techno and convince to protect them as well as to help them figure out what is happening within the city. Just very classic detective/noir style vibes.

Penpal AU: After noticing an ominous app on her phone, Wren couldn't help but to be wary of where it came from. That is until her power went out and she ended up seeing a message from a complete stranger. Little does she know what she dragged herself into, and how terrifying the circumstances are when she had replied. AKA an au where Dream talks to someone from another dimension and ends up going there. And it doesnt go great. This AU has some very unsettling topics and graphic details that involve bugs and death and also unhealthy relationships, please be careful when reading.

Ghost AU: AU where Dream died in prison! Dre is a ghost who gets summoned by Cala and he basically haunts her while she's trying to focus on real life stuff. This AU does have horror and just very heavy bug themed so be warned

Assassin's Creed AU: AU where in the past Dream's ancestor is an infamous assassin and Cala's ancestor ran an apothecary. They both form an unlikely friendship and unrequited love but it ends tragically. Fast Forward to the present Cala and Dream are coworkers and they meet after the elevator breaks down, and later when a mutual friend lets them introduce each other. A lot of hidden secrets and some conspiracy between friends with this au (this is a very new au so i am roughing out the kinks)

For a long time I've been of the opinion that "bi lesbians" are inherently lesbophobic. When I first heard the term I was like "wtf does that mean? A bisexual homoromantic woman?" I lurked some tags and that didn't seem to be the case. It appeared to be bi girls with a preference for women. The febfems, but they don't use that term because febfem is a pretty terfy term from what I've seen.

I consulted my old lesbian friend about her take on the issue. She described that it is lesbophobic because it pushes the idea that lesbians have the capacity to be attracted to men. I lurked some lesbian blogs and saw very similar arguments.

So I was like okay, yeah, I get that. Spreading the idea that a lesbian can be willing to fuck or date a man is pretty shitty. It emboldens those fuck-ass dudes who harass lesbians, saying she just hasn't had the right dick yet. It gives ammo to religious fundies who argue that lesbians should just suck it up and pair with a man and learn to like it. It spreads the harmful idea that lesbianism is a phase, or the result of a woman being too ugly or whatever to get a man so she gets with women out of necessity. Or the idea that lesbians are only gay because they're man-hating neurotic feminazis.

So yeah that's bad. And as such I rejected bi lesbians as lesbophobic bi women who are co-opting the lesbian experience when they have no right to do so.

Recently though, while I was digging around in the mogai tag because I couldn't remember the term "radinclus" and I was trying to correct someone who thought radinclus and radqueer were the same thing. I saw a couple posts about bi lesbians saying that lesbians who reject them are ignorant to lesbian history and that this was a normal thing in the 70s. Half of me said "huh maybe something important got lost to time," and the other half said "political lesbians were also technically in the lesbian community in the 70s and they suck, they were rejected for a reason."

Does anyone have any links to articles or documentaries or video essays going into this specific situation? I don't like to walk around confidently stating an opinion based on ignorance so I'm interested in researching the issue so I can form a more educated opinion.

Advice for Ex-Conservatives

I was raised in a hardline GOP/Southern Baptist household. During my later teens, I deconstructed the beliefs I was taught, and I've spent my adult life as a bleeding-heart socialist.

I want to tell you the truth: you never stop learning.

I want to tell you the truth: you never stop deconstructing.

I was on Twitter back then. I followed every left-of-center person I could find. I was soaking up ideas like a sponge. I took every tweet as gospel, which turned out to be VERY unsustainable.

You see, progressives disagree with each other. A lot. About pretty much everything.

It's not possible to reconcile every idea. You can't please everybody. That's the biggest mistake I made when I was fresh out of the conservative bubble. It took me by surprise how much people who agreed on 95% of issues could turn on each other with such incredible venom. It's something you will have to accept.

You can't just sponge up everyone else's ideas. You have to take everything you read with a grain of salt. It's really okay to apply the same critical thinking you applied to your reactionary political and/or religious beliefs and apply that to what other progressives say. Test everything. Question everything. It really is okay.

On the other hand, you also want to avoid being an argumentative dick. People you agree with most of the time will sometimes express ideas you don't agree with.

If the ideas are genuinely odious (some form of bigotry) then just block them and move on. It's VERY rare to change somebody's mind online. For your own mental health, it's best not to engage unless you are doing so for the sake of others.

Yet what if the idea isn't absolutely odious? What if it's just a reasonable disagreement? In most cases, I'd still recommend not engaging. Instead, study what the other person is saying. See if it makes sense, or if you can at least learn from their perspective.

You can actually learn something from a bad idea. And you don't have to be 100% in alignment with someone to treat them with respect or learn from them.
