Dicono che tutti i giorni dobbiamo mangiare una mela per il ferro e una banana per il potassio. Anche un'arancia per la vitamina C e una tazza di Tè verde senza zucchero, per prevenire il diabete.
Tutti i giorni dobbiamo bere due litri d'acqua anche se poi espellerli richiede il doppio del tempo che hai messo per berli.
Tutti i giorni bisogna bere un Actimel o mangiare uno yogurt per avere i "L. Cassei Defensis", che nessuno sa bene che cosa cavolo siano, però sembra che se non ti ingoi per lo meno un milione e mezzo di questi bacilli tutti i giorni, inizi a vedere sfocato.
Ogni giorno un'aspirina, per prevenire l'ictus, e un bicchiere di vino rosso, per prevenire contro l'infarto. E un altro di bianco, per il sistema nervoso. E uno di birra, che già non mi ricordo a che cosa serva. Se li bevi tutti insieme, ti può provocare un'emorragia cerebrale, ma non ti preoccupare perché non te ne renderai neppure conto...
Tutti i giorni bisogna mangiare fibra. Molta, moltissima fibra, finché riesci a evacuare un maglione.
Si devono fare tra i 4 e 6 pasti quotidiani, leggeri, senza dimenticare di masticare 100 volte ogni boccone. Facendo i calcoli, solo per mangiare se ne vanno 5 ore. Ah, e dopo ogni pranzo bisogna lavarsi i denti, ossia che dopo l'Actimel e la fibra lavati i denti, dopo la mela i denti, dopo la banana i denti... e così via finché ti rimangono tre denti in bocca, senza dimenticarti di usare il filo interdentale, massaggiare le gengive, il risciacquo col colluttorio... Meglio ampliare il bagno e metterci il lettore di CD, perché tra l'acqua, le fibre e i denti, ci passerai varie ore.
Bisogna dormire otto ore e lavorare altre otto, più le 5 necessarie per mangiare, 21. Te ne rimangono 3, sempre che non ci sia traffico. Secondo le statistiche, vediamo la televisione per tre ore al giorno. Ma no! Non si può, perché tutti i giorni bisogna camminare almeno mezz'ora.
Bisogna mantenere le amicizie perché sono come le piante: bisogna innaffiarle tutti i giorni per mantenerle in vita.
Inoltre, bisogna tenersi informati, e leggere per lo meno due giornali e un paio di articoli di rivista, per una lettura critica.
Ah!, si deve fare sesso tutti i giorni, però senza cadere nella routine: bisogna essere innovatori, creativi, e rinnovare la seduzione.
Tutto questo ha bisogno di tempo. E senza parlare del sesso tantrico.
Bisogna anche avere il tempo di scopare per terra, spolverare, lavare i piatti, i panni, stirare e non parliamo se hai dei figli o un cane.
Insomma, per farla breve, i conti danno 29 ore al giorno. Non c’è niente da fare: devi fare varie cose insieme. Si chiama multitasking, non c’è altra soluzione! Per esempio, ti fai la doccia con acqua fredda e con la bocca aperta, così almeno ti bevi i due litri canonici. Mentre esci dal bagno con lo spazzolino in bocca e fai l’amore (tantrico) con il compagno/a che nel frattempo guarda la TV e ti racconta, mentre tu lavi il pavimento. Ti rimane una mano libera? Chiama i genitori o qualche amico. Dopo aver chiamato i genitori, avrai senz’altro bisogno di un goccio di vino per tirarti su. Il Bio Puritas con la mela te lo può dare il partner, mentre si mangia la banana con l’Actimel, e domani fate il cambio.
Mi è venuta la confusione mentale.
Adesso ti lascio, perché tra lo yogurt, la mela, la birra, il primo litro d’acqua e il terzo pasto con fibra della giornata, già non so più cosa sto facendo. So che devo andare urgentemente in bagno. E ne approfitto per lavarmi i denti. Però, se ti rimangono due minuti liberi, invia una copia ai tuoi amici, che devono essere annaffiati come una pianta.

Oggi io e lui si ragionava via audio wathsapp sulla cancerogenicità delle carni rosse e, soprattutto, di quelle 'lavorate' ("L'hamburger è lavorato? Sì ma non in quel senso. L'insaccato è lavorato. Ma allora esiste una gamma di lavorazione e di cancerogenicità? Tipo da 'hamburger fresco senza altri ingredienti' a 'salame invecchiato da carne affumicata in salamoia di solfiti'? Chiediamolo a Firewalker, allora!") e quindi poi il discorso è traslato su quanto vive:
un lupo in natura
un lupo domesticato (agli albori) aggregato all'uomo, che mangia gli avanzi della caccia a cui ha partecipato
un cane da caccia (secoli dopo) che mangia gli avanzi di cucina (cibo lavorato)
un cane 'odierno' che mangia solo crocchette o scatolette (cibo super-lavorato)
Premesso che i miei cani Otto e Cthulhu avranno una vita media di 70 anni silenzio non vi ascolto e non vi sto sentendo 70 anni lalalalalala SETTANTA HO DETTO! dicevo, a scanso di equivoci io ogni santo giorno cucino per loro:
riso o polenta o patate
verdure (carote, verze etc)
fegato o cuore di maiale oppure magoncini/fegatini di pollo oppure macinato di cavallo (scarti di pulitura del caval pìst, molto consumato a Parma)
(naturalmente tutti prodotti economici, in offerta o di 'scarto' perché non belli o visivamente perfetti)
Ci chiediamo se molte delle patologie di cui soffrono i cani (diabete e tumori vari) in realtà non siano frutto di un'alimentazione 'da scatoletta' cioè con quel cibo lavorato e super-lavorato che anche nell'umano crea un sacco di problemi metabolici e oncologici.
Sarebbe interessante fare una comparazione tra quello che tu conosci e puoi sintetizzare e ciò che poi cercheremmo noi... sono sicuro che anche Tata sarebbe contenta! 🐶😆

Allora... premetto che non sono un nutrizionista animale ma umano, e ci sono colleghi estremamente più preparati di me sulla questione.
Preciso inoltre che qualsiasi educatore/trice io becchi online dice che il cane con le crocchette e basta vive male, ma per quello che so non ne capisco la ragione.
Le mie conoscenze derivano dalla lettura (non studio, semplice lettura) di due testi:

In forza di questi due testi posseduti e letti (ribadisco, non studiati), posso dire che, come per tutti gli animali al mondo, l'alimentazione è fondamentale per assicurare una buona salute al proprio pet.
Sono venuto poi a conoscenza delle linee guida per l'alimentazione industriale dei cani e dei gatti (che scopro ora, con questo ask, che sono state aggiornate nel luglio 2024, ottimo, io avevo quelle del 2018)
Consultando tutti questi testi scopro che:
i cani e i gatti (che nello specifico di questo post ci interessano meno, ma si parla in genere anche di loro) hanno bisogno di cose diverse, in particolare i gatti sono più delicati, più esclusivi
esistono condizioni specifiche per le quali certi alimenti sono tollerati da alcune razze e non tollerati da altre (ad esempio, non date del pane a un CLC, datelo al Chihuahua e non farà una piega - se non è l'unico alimento che gli date, ovviamente)
la quota del fabbisogno di fibre e carboidrati per i cani è decisamente minore di quanto siamo abituati con gli esseri umani (ma non zero)
come al solito, non importa da dove arrivino i nutrienti, l'importante è che arrivino (anche un gatto tollera la dieta vegana, se è fatta da un nutrizionista e se è seguita maniacalmente, con tutti gli integratori del caso, senza sgarrare - maniacalmente significa che il nutrizionista animale sei tu, oppure il tuo partner)
ovviamente, per patologie e condizioni fisiologiche particolari come gravidanza, allattamento e crescita, i fabbisogni cambiano
Detto questo, rispondo alla domanda:
Ci chiediamo se molte delle patologie di cui soffrono i cani (diabete e tumori vari) in realtà non siano frutto di un'alimentazione 'da scatoletta'
Ni. L'alimentazione con crocchette e scatolette è sicuramente a favore del padrone, che si deve sbattere poco per dar da mangiare al proprio pet. Detto questo, però, proprio per questo motivo diventa anche facile farlo ingrassare o non pensare al fatto che non sempre quell'alimento è completo.
Ad esempio, oltre a stuzzichini, masticativi e pezzi di roba che viene direttamente dalla nostra tavola, a Tata qui noi diamo crocchette e scatolette, con l'ottica che le scatolette diano la quota di macronutrienti più necessaria (proteine e grassi, con pochi carboidrati), mentre le crocchette funzionano da integratori di vitamine e minerali, perché sono schifezze in cui è pompato qualsiasi nutriente per compensare il fatto che sono alimenti ultra-processati, quindi impoveriti delle caratteristiche originarie. Ma il fatto che in etichetta io possa vedere la quantità di magnesio o di omega-3 (aggiunti) mi fa comodo, perché questo non c'è scritto sulle scatolette, quindi non posso essere sicuro di dargliene a sufficienza solo con esse.
Certo, cucinare anche per Tata sarebbe l'ideale, ma sarebbe anche molto più impegnativo e, col mestiere che faccio, non vedrei alternative al cercare unə collega per gli animali e seguire le sue direttive, cosa che aumenterebbe non solo l'impegno quotidiano, ma anche la spesa.
Dal mio punto di vista, demonizzare i pasti pronti per gli animali è sbagliato, solo bisogna essere consapevoli che un'alimentazione casalinga è probabilmente migliore.
Fanno male? Non lo so, non credo. Fanno male se, vista la comodità, si esagera e il pet ingrassa, sicuramente in quel caso fanno male (e coi labrador è un attimo). Non credo che i cani soffrano dello stesso problema che abbiamo noi per quanto riguarda il consumo di carne e la sua cancerogenicità, di certo possono avere il diabete perché obesi, come pure tutte le problematiche legate all'obesità.

The production of ROS normally occurs in general metabolic processes, especially in cells that could react with oxygen, as a source of fuel for producing energy. High levels of ROS damage cellular structures, proteins, lipids, and DNA, which accelerates the aging process and susceptibility to disease in a human being.
Chronic inflammation will, therefore, turn destructive. Continuously produced free radicals enhance the oxidative stress during continuous inflammation coupled with oxidative damage. This process of inflammation plus oxidative damage characterizes most diseases that are termed chronic. Since diet components modulate oxidative stress, anti-inflammatory diets control such stress.
