The overall philosophy of yoga is about connecting the mind, body, and spirit. A regular yoga practice promotes inner strength, calmness, flexibility and well-being. There are six branches of yoga. Each branch represents a different focus and set of characteristics: • Hatha yoga: This is the physical and mental branch that aims to prime the body and mind. • Raja yoga: This branch involves meditation and strict adherence to a series of disciplinary steps known as the eight limbs of yoga. • Karma yoga: This is a path of service that aims to create a future free from negativity and selfishness. • Bhakti yoga: This aims to establish the path of devotion, a positive way to channel emotions and cultivate acceptance and tolerance. • Jnana yoga: This branch of yoga is about wisdom, the path of the scholar, and developing the intellect through study. • Tantra yoga: This is the pathway of ritual, ceremony, or consummation of a relationship. From these main branches many and various yoga styles do arise. Fascia Yoga places its focus on conscious deep stretching movements. This style of yoga targets deep tissues, ligaments, joints, bones, and a mind connection with the entire myofascial receptive system. My priority as a Fascia Coach is to help my clients to create a healthy and holistic lifestyle, release musculoskeletal tension, allow greater range of motion and work on a wide spreading of knowledge about the fascial system and its virtues. Functionality in the body is always related to movement on some level. The exchange of ions that generate nerve signals, muscle contraction and relaxation, fluid regulation, blood and lymph circulation, the processes of digestion and so on, are all movement. The Fascia layers keep the actual movement activity and function of everything working together in a healthy human person. Fascia allows the natural movement of our life processes and that's why we can see the healthy functioning of a person through their postures and movements. When the Fascia is stiff or blocked, that means that our cells, biochemistry, or organs are not functioning properly, with chronic pain, fatigue, injuries, disease and illness coming up. My work as a Fascia Coach, is to detect the anomalies and design the appropriate movement postures that will restore mobility and flexibility to finally bring the body alignment students and practitioners are looking for. Together we detect and explore the main sources of the body and mind disalignment, the hidden tensions and blockages, followed by the appropriate stretches to release all tension.
