Day 6 of DCA Promptober - hues plus bonus animation of Sun imitating the Mac's wait cursor aka the Spinning Beach Ball of Doom

And it's only... 51 days late. It's fine it's fine #Thanks to everybody in the dfpu chat who helped me come up with stuff to doodle for the border. It was a big help and a lot of fun!#we really did recreate what is going on in the drawing!#also thanks to snails muffin and terror for the animation pointers & terminology #Smear frames were def the way to go! Not whatever I was trying to do before asking for help #I guess this counts as my first *real* animation so hooray!#I *might* use some of the remaining prompts for future drawings but at this point I have other things I want to work on #even though I was only able to finish a few of these I felt like I still learned a lot #it definitely got me into the habit of drawing every day #and I'm still doing that so this event was a big win in my book!#and no joke I really did color pick from the load cursor just so I could do the silly spinning thing

#dc comics #dc #damian wayne #stephanie brown #tim drake #been drawing more self indulgent doodles lately which is nice #these r sort of a part of that lol #i drew the tim and damian one back when that stort actually came out it's. definitely interesting #if only for portraying Tim and Damian as equally flawed individuals (contrasted to the zdarsky batman for example)#AND unintentionally highlighted how low-key embarrassing it is that Tim is still robin. it's got a part two coming out sometime this month #and the Steph doodle was inspired by me rereading her batgirl run since the trade came out! and remembering how hard Lee Garbetts art slayed #but yeah while i figure out what to post and how- have this #the tim and damian one got like 3 likes on the bird app meanwhile the Steph one is at 1.3k w 93 bookmarks #say what you will about the bird app but when you get the right ppls attention that place does NOT have to be batboy centric #(or soley batboy centric. i like them a lot (damian mainly) but the variety is nice compared to here)

I think theres definitely a better design to be had here but I did my best #ldshadowlady fanart #Impulse ofc mostly inspired from that one skin where he has a beard #seeing people do fan designs for lifers is the only thing that gave me the urge to draw this #I wanted to see how much the colors could be played around with without making the ponies unrecognizable #and also like. pleasant to the eye. Most of my art actually.#and then I took a break and redid the colors with sort of a red-yellow-blue forced focus which helped a lot #and also I decided that if you Believe in your silliness then it can be Meaningful Intertextuality.#the journey of creamthing. the journey of montjoy. creamthing as a pelican in its piety.#spent a Lot of time on heraldry wikipedia and then ancient archival scans of heraldry encyclopedias to try and get the description right #heraldic language is Hard and I still definitely didn't get it right but I Tried. and I like how it turned out :)
