Dennis wakes up to the sensation of your lips brushing over his forehead, your palm cupping his cheek before you kiss his mouth in that wonderful sweet way of yours. He groans, arching up to meet you and you smile before you draw away.

“I need to head into work to take care of something.” You tell him, your nose trailing  over his. “Get some rest, you had a busy night last night.”

“You should come back to bed.” He mumbles, his thumb chasing over the apple of your cheek. “I want to practise some more.”

“You don’t need to practise.” You tell him as he steals another greedy kiss. “You were perfect last night, both times.”

He’d rallied again at three in the morning, you’d woken up to his lips ghosting down your throat, his hand wandering. He’d had you from behind this time, your fingers entwining with his before you guided them down to your clit. He’d found your rhythm almost immediately, played all the right notes, all the way to the crescendo.

“Go back to sleep.” You urge him, your palm coming to rest on the space where his heart resides before you give him a gentle push. “We can play a little more tonight if you’re free.”

“Oh I’m definitely free.” He mumbles, sagging back into the pillows and burrowing down into the sheets. His eyes start to flutter closed and you smile at the sight of him, so relaxed, so care free.

It’s the change of shift for security when you get to the hospital. You know that Olsen and Ahmed like to do the handover in the canteen over a cup of coffee so the office will be empty.

You stand in front of the betting board, surveying all of those post-its about Dennis’s virginity. The suggestions, the implications, the odds. You remove them one by one, putting them into your pocket instead of the trash because you don’t want them to be able to use them to make good on those bets. Then you pick up a permanent marker, not one of the dry wipe ones that reside in the pen pot and get to work.

You came to learn about the board this morning when a friend texted you asking for details because she saw you and Dennis leaving karaoke together last night.

“You know I don’t kiss and tell.” You’d text back, to which she responded.

“Come on Lis, I’ve got $100 riding on this.”

That’s when you remember the bets about the ambulance, about Dr Robby and his younger girlfriend. You know it’s supposed to be a bit of fun, a way of venting the stress that comes with the job but this, this is just too far.

You take your time on the words, etching them in thick block capitals. You want them to stand out, make a point, you also want them as hard as hell to remove so that everytime they even think about doing something like this again, they’ll reconsider.

Do better, you write covering the majority of the board. Don’t be fucking assholes.

You don’t sign it off, you don’t want Gloria reprimanding you for defacing hospital property but the people who run those bets, they’ll know.

And they’ll know better than to cross you again.

hi! so i read your post on percy as the minister of magic and i definitely understand your point of view. i'm curious who you think would be a good minister of magic?

The honest answer, I don't think any of them is an ideal minister. At least, not anyone I could think of. If you can take the Golden Trio and make them a minister together like some Roman Trimuvirate, we have something we could work with:

Like, Harry got the charisma, the fame, he draws attention and would be brilliant at telling people to shut the fuck up in the sassiest way possible. When tough things happen, and things get stressful, Harry keeps his calm and keep them moving forward. Plus, he has great instincts.

The thing is, Harry doesn't really care about the bigger system or politics at all. He'd find Wizengamot frustrating and dull, and wouldn't want anything to do with them unless he felt responsible to put in the effort (which he would if he were put in the position). But, like, it won't be something he wants to do. He doesn't have a passion for it.

Ron is more realistic and strategic and is best at looking at the wider situation and its consequences. He is also the most connected with the Wizarding World itself and the culture there. He is the trio's insider, who knows the culture like a native. He is more concerned with the system at large than Harry. He isn't a great liar, but he is strategic and can stay calm under pressure. And Ron post-war is more charismatic than we give him credit for, I think. (And he's the most hinged, emotionally balanced member of the trio, which is very important when dealing with other important people you want to cooperate with you). And, yes, he's lazy about school work, but when he needs to research something, all three of the Golden Trio sit their asses in the library and research when they need to. Hermione just enjoys it.

And Hermione is brilliant at research and bureaucracy. She can get things done, and Ron and Harry would mitigate her idealism. Hermione is very "my way or the highway" and can cause people who agree with her to not want her in charge. While something needs to be done regarding the house elves, her approach ends up offending the house elves she is trying to help instead of getting them to support her (which I think is possible with the right approach). What I'm saying is Hermione is not that subtle or that good of a liar and would struggle navigating the less obvious sides of politics, especially if she'd need to think fast. Hermione is good when she has time to plan, not so much when she is panicking and needs to think on her feet (that's when Harry's in his element).

But, basically, Hermione would get things done, Harry would lead people, and Ron would mitigate both of them, remind them of the reality they live in, and make the whole dynamic work. So, the golden trio together, as a unit, would be a pretty good option (from the ones we have).

Though, writing all the above made me think that Ron, as minister with Hermione helping him out with research and such, and Harry backing him, is slept on in this fandom. I think it could work. (Plus, he'd want it more than Harry would be happy without more attention)

I think Kingsley isn't a bad choice for a minister. I think he would do an alright job, all in all. He's realistic, cool under pressure, charismatic, and knows how to work within the limits of the ministry well. My only problem with him as minister would be that he'd stick pretty closely to the existing ministry's status quo. He does remove the dementors from Azkaban and probably improves the state of muggleborns, but, unfortunately, the wizarding world needs more than that. (Not to mention the anti-Slytherin sentiment that seems to be present in the epilogue spells another dark lord in the near future)

Amelia Bones would probably be pretty similar to Kingsley as a Minister of Magic, tbh. She'd just, realistic, cool under pressure, but probably not see the deeper problems in the very system she works in.

I think this doesn't quite capture the distinction people look for when they talk about "AI art" and the dichotomy with "human artist". If you make your own picrew and then press the random button, it might technically be generative art by this definition, but as a political issue, it clearly is in the "human artist" category (and if not, does using random.org to select which drawing you're going to draw count?).

I think the dichotomy people are more interested in is how transformative your own work is. With "AI art", the choices being made are mostly taken from other artists unwillingly as a whole, rather than individual choices. I think one could make non-"AI art" from "AI art", but that would be similar in how one would transform others art into ones own.

I think a distinction between writing a program to draw the Mandelbrot fractal in a way that you find aesthetically pleasing and typing "cute anime girl art" into DALL-E is useful. The second is effectively the same process as a google search, and I don't think it's misleading to try to distinguish between that and being an artist (whilst the first would be a piece of art, in my opinion).

It is right however that if you use an AI-generated texture instead of a free-use texture for your game that doesn't suddenly make the game "AI art". But I do think that it can be a political project to avoid this as much as you want, but yes, still art when using AI as one of the tools.

I think the dichotomy between "human artists" and "AI art" is misleading and I regret falling into those terms for convenience. If you hit the random button on someone's picrew, the resulting image isn't "made by RNG" in anything but the very most technical of senses. AI doesn't act autonomously, it was made by humans and is used by humans. I think "prodedural" or "generative" would be good replacers for the catch all term of "AI" and perhaps "deterministic" would be a more accurate term for "human"

Just what if, hypothetically, I make a Coraline AU with louie as coraline?

But like instead of having louie being alone to save his family, he has friends to help him from the small group of friends he got? But like a few of them stay outside to make sure everyone is accounted for

Like what if louie almost gets possessed by the other mother?

Victorian Fantasy AU

Crown Prince of Wa, Nakamoto Toshiro; Still struggles to make allies, even after learning Western customs and changed his way of dress... But, his western teacher, Laios, doesn't give him much room, nor time to feel like a failure. So things aren't too bad.

Zelda 2 comic sneak peek

I took out my old full-length Zelda 2 comic draft and chose a segment to make a short comic out of. It's missing context from the whole grand narrative of the entire story, but I think it gets the point across.

There were a couple potentials, and I ended up choosing the scene where Link discovers that his blood is the key to awakening Ganon. It's the most well-known plot point of the game in the LOZ fandom in general, besides the Prince of Hyrule plot. Throughout the comic, Link gets attacked by various monsters during his quest. He thought Hyrule was incredibly dangerous for merchants and travelers, but found out that it was only him encountering monsters at a high rate, thus targeted (that is not discussed in this short comic). This disturbs him a lot. And this is the scene when he discovers why he's a target. It's more than the monsters seeking revenge.

At some point in the game, the player is made to travel towards south-western Hyrule and use the Hammer on dueling peaks to enter and get a magic potion. You specifically enter the peak that is originally Level 9 in Zelda 1. I found that to be very... interesting. And suspicious. Why did the developers think "Okay lets have Link go back to the traumatizing final boss place from the first game to retrieve an item :D" It's kinda epic honestly and it gave me the idea: For the full comic, I made it that Link follows rumors and travels down there in the hopes of finding the magic book containing the revive spell, which is game-changing for the rest of his journey. Being the adventurer that he is, Link takes the risk and goes there thinking the place is long-abandoned and that Ganon probably no longer exists. Except, that isn't the case. (Okay I must add, after the revelation, Link loses his adventurous spirit and gets very serious with his quest. No longer enjoys exploring, which is all this Link is about. He starts developing Big Fears. This eventually spawns Dark Link. I wish I could make the entire comic but I know I can't T-T I should probably finish up and polish the draft and post it online for whoever is interested in a deep dive, lore-intense Zelda 2 story reimagining.)

It's the first time I do a 10 page comic, so I'm going through a learning curve right now xD It's going to be experimental, but I hope you enjoy it still. Here are some WIP shots. Still a while before it's completed.
