Bless you for the perfect question 💜 I actually have a whole pokemon AU in my head...that I'll realistically never write because writing is hard :x But here's pokemon teams based on aesthetics + some additional headcanons on their roles in the pokemon universe for fun!

Champion 2B

2B is an aloof and charismatic trainer of widespread fame. Despite being the reigning champion of the region not much is known about her. Even colleagues in the competitive scene are left in the dark by her enigmatic nature. Her pokemon reflect her elegant goth aesthetic. Her featured pokemon is Absol. It's a pokemon known for being an ill omen and a harbinger of disaster even though it actually just shows up to help in times of crisis. It suits 2B's ominous but secretly caring personality.

Ace Trainer 9S

9S is a new and faceless trainer to the competitive scene but quickly rising ranks in tournaments. He's a grad student in an online pokemon archeology program and trains his pokemon between his studies. He runs into 2B by chance while doing on-site research of ancient ruins for his thesis. Despite 2B's intimidating disposition 9S discovers she's just extremely shy and quickly befriends her. He's partial to electric types and rotom is his featured pokemon since its perfect for our favorite hackerman. His umbreon is a match to 2B's espeon. Dedenne likes traveling with him but he swaps it out during tournaments so the poor thing won't get squashed.

Mysterious Trainer A2

A solitary trainer that wanders the wilderness. She does not compete in tournaments despite her incredibly well-trained team. Could blaze her way through the pokemon league if she wanted to but prefers to keep to herself. Her pokemon reflect her recluse and powerful nature.

Scientist Jackass

Not entirely sure what Jackass's role is, but it definitely involves explosions and chaos. She's drawn to powerful pokemon that can help with intensive experiments and also likes pokemon with mischievous personalities.

Major 2B fangirl. Would love to learn how to battle but is too busy with her job at a pokemon daycare. At least her team is cute!

Rival Adam

Rich nepo baby who stands neck-in-neck with 2B in the league rankings but always loses in the final battle. Huge ego and is generally annoying. Uses his wealth and power to collect legendary pokemon from across the globe despite the questionable wisdom of keeping them all in one place. He's drawn to flamboyant and elegant pokemon.

Okay so; my lineup probably looks like

And now I will explain why. Take into account that I don’t take any type weaknesses really into account when I make teams because usually I am headstrong enough to just boulder through any challenges.

First off my baby, my favorite starter Pokémon Serperior

That’s my guy; I’d name mine Commodus or smth like that. It’d probably have the basic ability, I’d put more stats in it being my little fast physical attacker to pack some nice little punches and then dissapear and be my baby. It’s moveset probably is uh, magical leaf, leech seed, bullet seed, and breaking swipe :3

All of these are some of my favorite Pokémon but the next one up is Obstagoon,

Specifically if I could it’d be a shiny Obstagoon, maybe named Brutus or Cassius for the funnies (if anyone can’t tell all of my main first teams in pkm games get named after Roman’s for haha funny jokes that only I find haha funny). I’d probably try and get a Obstagoon with Guts as an ability for the vibes or whatever. Movepool would probably be obstruct, throat chop, x-scissor, and close combat

Sylveon is actually my #1 favorite Pokémon of all time and is required on all of my teams,

There’s Clodius lol (please my Sylveon always ends up being my bruiser too) but I’d keep a cute charm sylveon and my moveset would be. Draining kiss, disarming voice, psyshock, and play rough.

If anyone can tell I play Pokémon in a very “offense is the best defense” way, guns a blazing and all that jazz.

Next up is toxtricity,

I’d want an amped form Toxtricity and I’d name it like. Nero lol maybe Quinctilius even (gods know that when I try to get one I’m getting to number 5 before I got one with the right nature) but I’d figure out a witty funny name for it. The move pool would probably be, overdrive, toxic spikes, sludge bomb, and discharge (P.S this would be my gigantamax Pokemon in sword and shield)

Also Gallade :3 I like Gallade, a silly little knight.

His name would be Luci (short for Lucius Junius Brutus because I had to slip in one of my favorite Roman myth guys in there) he’d be my mega pokemon and it’d be silly. I’d try to get Justified but if not a sharpness Gallade would be fire too. Its movepool would be something like, psycho cut, psybeam, aura sphere, and close combat.

Finally, we have Falinks, the boy!!

His name would be Pompey. He’d be a silly group of guys. It’d have no retreat just because I like the animation, megahorn, brick break, and rock slide

That’s it :3 honorable mentions probably go to mimikyu, dedenne, meowstick, pidove line, primarina, meowscarada, and others. This is just the team I’d probably roll with and uh. I like pokemon :3 I don’t take any of the technical aspect seriously but there’s like story in the team and stuff

– FERRIS [Fairy, but very flexible ! I like to think Ferris isn't much of a battler and only has pokemon for convenience like travel and cutting through bushes, or for cuteness <3]

Dedenne [Literally such a them pokemon there's no way around it. This thing looks almost exactly like how I see Ferris in my mind's eye and I think they know it too. It's also probably their starter back when they thought they were gonna battle for real, only to find out that Oh This Is Hard and You Don't Evolve ... Let's not do this then !]

Togepi -> Togetic [I like to think Ferris would feed stray pokemon whenever they can, and sometimes it results in them getting pokemon to stay with them even though it's not the intention. Togepi was that exact case <3 it's very lucky that it's adorable because Ferris didn't have the heart to release it anymore.]

Whimsicott [Likely the ace of their team, becuase even though Whimsicott isn't a super strong pokemon, when utilized properly in a strategy Ferris manages to make it at least feel invincible. Fluffy lil' fellow <3 fits with their aesthetic too]

– HARVEY (*better known as just KELLER) [Electric, but in the sense that he doesn't actually have pokemon just because and is forced by the company to have a team. Guy who doesn't wanna participate in your fucking gym core. All his pokemon are given to him as property of Maliwan, so at least he's not mistreating them]

Rotom [Given as an initiation mon for everyone in the company. Surprisingly affectionate with Keller despite him heing The Worst and never reciprocating it, but alas, it does not know that.]

Electrode [Much of the same idea as the first one, but even more so. Again, Keller isn't super interested in pokemon as a whole and would rather have None, but since he's being forced to, he opted for the ball with a face on it because he figured it wouldn't be too much work to care for. And it isn't !]

– Toshiro (*better known as YONNE) [Fire/Electric. Used to be a trainer before he joined the company, but then got a projectile to the knee and was forced to retire. Sad !]

Rotom [Again, initiation pokemon for company, but Yonne actually does like his. When they aren't being constantly watched by other investors and what have you, I like to think he gives his tons of pampering.]

Ninetales [His ex-ace that he no longer can use due to mostly working in an office space and it being a fire type, but that he still cherishes even if it reminds him of better days. Definetly his starter pokemon too, probably given to him by his parents.]

Elekid -> Electavire [Technically wasn't supposed to be his, because all he was supposed to do was hold onto it and train it for the company, but then it evolved and got way too attached, so now it is. Kind of scared of it because of how big it's gotten since it was a baby, but hey, it's still his baby.]

– THALIA [Ground/Electric, still a trainer in her spare time, but really mostly forced to be stationary in the company floor.]

Manetric [Her initiation pokemon and her second favorite ever. She was already an electric type enjoyer even before she joined the company, so her appreciation for them grew even further when she got it as a thank you gift from the higher ups. That's her pet dogy <3]

Mudsdale [Her actual starter, and also her actual favorite pokemon ever. Has been with her since she was a kid and is a very old thing, but nevertheless very sturdy that has always been by her side. I like to think instead of going to work in normal ways she just rides a horse there. For funsies.]

Rotom [She doesn't really feel anything towards it try as she might. It's just another tool for work. And it's very sad about as well]

Hippowdon [Has been with her since she started her journey and she adores this fucking thing even though it is insanely powerful and can crush a car like a soda can. It is no longer allowed near office for doing exactly that.]

BLEASE elaborate on lloyd's team!!! (and. huh. fairy-types are the usual counter to dragon-types, nowadays, since ice-types tend to keel over from a flamethrower. why is sora a fairy-type specialist when her mo seems to be protecting dragons at all costs?)

DUDE i’d love to elaborate on lloyd’s team!! its probably the team where i have the most thought on each individual choice LMAO so its the most interesting

- Gallade is Lloyd’s starter, and i think they’re the combo i’ve consistently drawn the most together, lmao. Ralts is a small pokemon with a green bowl cut, so i like the image of itty bitty baby lloyd running around with his ralts and causing trouble, and the two growing up and maturing with each other. also gallade is a sword pokemon, and lloyd is a sword guy. also also gallade just feels like a transmasc pokemon to me . yeah.

- Haxorus is Lloyd’s second pokemon! admittedly haxorus is here because unova is my first and favorite gen. this is a common reason why i choose pokemon actually. but haxorus is also a green dragon pokemon! and it’s shiny form is black… which is a color associated with lloyd’s dad….. my thought is that in between s2 and s3 Garmadon gives Lloyd an egg from his haxorus, and it hatches into an axew that lloyd makes part of his team

- Togekiss is the third! i have a fic outline (that will likely never get written anytime soon, or at all) about this baby, but basically. after s5, Lloyd would have trouble taking care of himself, because of s5. so he’s gifted an egg that hatches into a togepi, and he relearns how to take care of himself for this togepi! i also like the idea of togepi refusing to evolve for a long time — she only evolves into a togetic during s9, and a togekiss sometime after s10. stubborn queen <3

- Sceptile is number four! Lloyd catches him as a grovyle between s7 and s8, and he evolves a season later. ok girl. sceptile is here because he’s green and reptile like, and also because his mega evolution has a secondary dragon type! (and is also the coolest mega of the hoenn starters, who said that? anyway) also. maybe also the blade aesthetic? sceptile can know leaf blade right?

- Whimsicott is number five! all of the ninja have a surprise pokemon added to their team for s11, and whimsicott is that surprise pokemon! i have the weakest reason for why whimsicott is here, he’s green and i like him! (and “energy” or “life” might could probably be argued as reasons for giving lloyd another grass type?) tho i like the suggestion that whimsicott’s here because he looks like a pillow mint, haha

and admittedly, a lot of my teams are chosen for pretty surface-level reasons — initially i just had one pokemon for sora, just like arin’s one pokemon, and it was Sylveon. because sylveon matches her colors really strongly, and is a catlike pokemon heavily associated with the colors of the trans flag — it just felt like they fit! dedenne i added last minute because i wanted to pull in something from her being a mechanic and to match sylveon’s typing, so it felt really good!

ur not the first person to point this out, you’re right!! i think some dragon pokemon on her team would make sense too — my thoughts for candidates would be altaria, the goomy line, or dratini/dragonair. i feel like she’d go for more cutesy pokemon, but idk, thats usually the pokes i go for too

not really species but electric mice in general annoy me to no end in battles. Once during one of marnie's rival battle i nearly got SWEPT by morpeko and got flinched THREE TIMES IN A ROW. after that battle i wanted to step on that hamster so bad.

also dedenne has been a particular annoyance to me a few times like how the npc in the dynamax adventure insisted on using entrainment on ALL of us to give us plus (which is a shit ability anyway) when i was playing a support roll as comfey and kinda needed triage for that!!

the trainer on route 6 of swsh with the metronome clefairy and clefable, the clefairy landed a rock slide on my fire type, draco meteor, double team, AND grassy terrain in ONE battle. The clefable used dragon darts and then when id almost KO'd it it used recover.

also i particularly hate delibird & jynx for existing and being ice types. ice is like one of my favorite types and the fact that i have to deal with those 2 ugly mfs being part of that angers me severely

and oh yea that one girl on like route 3 or something with the pancham that just spammed circle throw. screw u. had to use a ghost type so she'd fuckin stop yoinkin all my pokemon around.

Ken Sugimori has created 966 Pokemon cards, beginning with the very first set of Pokémon cards, 1999's Base Set.

Ken Sugimori Yuka Morii is a japanese 3d modelling pokemon card artist, she created 211 illustrations of pokemons and put them onto cards, just like a normal pokemon would be presented in 2d, however Yuka has been remaking these out of clay and nature backgrounds and impressing a lot of people. personally for me i think these creations are very cute and my favorites are Clefairy, Dedenne and of course Pachirisu

You can clearly see these pokemon have been put into the real world yet at the same time they still look so perfectcly sculpted and they almost look like theyve been made on a 3d making program, and i think thats the coolest thing ever, these minature sculptures are so carefully made they dont even look like clay ?! i also think there is some editing involved, specifically with Dedenne by blurring the background and adding some touches to the closest parts of the sculplture to make them look more like theyre meant to be put on a card but otherwise they just look perfect 🤩

After all this time, it is finally done. We have finished all three seasons of the XY anime.

Kinda surprised, but final takeaway is that was pretty good.

The first two seasons felt pretty standard to what I'd recall, where the major emphasis is placed on the interactions, be it human dynamics or the way Pokemon interact. It's cute and relatively fun but the kind of show I can put on in the background while playing something and not miss too much. XYZ was...surprisingly story-centered. I actually like what they did with Zygarde and Team Flare. That was a fun arc. Surprisingly dramatic.

As for the character rundown...

Ash is the least interesting part of his own story. My wife had a great point about it, and maybe she'll post about it herself, but she noted we never actually see Ash's internal strategy and thought in the same way as, say, Sawyer in the semifinals. He just kinda does stuff, and I'd argue it's mostly bullshit stuff half the time. The fuck do you mean X-Scissor cut through Trick Room? Fuck you. Ash just doesn't grate on me like he used to, though. Like, compared to the first season, he's less obnoxious. But the improvement is from outright contempt to like...a non-entity. Unless Greninja is involved. Then he is obnoxious again.

By contrast, Serena is the most interesting one here. Her arc with the performances is actually really good. Starting on a loss that devastates, overcoming, having another fumble later that does cost her a win but working through it successfully, and ending on a big engagement with her rival that she loses pretty handily. It's good stuff. Also I like how it all ends with Palerma offering to tutor her, and her turning it down to travel the world instead. I think Serena's arc felt more like following a proper character growth story. She feels significantly different from where she started.

Clemont and Bonnie are good, too. Clemont grew on me in ways I didn't expect, and Bonnie started really clicking with the Squishy arc. Though man, Bonnie cannot catch a break. Every Pokemon she befriends aside from Dedenne leaves.

Alain is fine. Similar to Ash, he's not all that interesting, but I give him a little more credit than Ash. Barely, though. "I have to be strong" is still very standard anime protagonist man. Marron is just a nice grounding tool for that. I am nothing if not a sucker for that trope. Though Sawyer wound up being the preferred side character. I actually love that kid. Someone who battles with clear strategy and like...adapts and learns and grows in real time? He was in like ten episodes and I feel like there was more substance in his regional travel than the gang's.

The gym leaders getting a bit of spotlight is always nice for personality. My wife and I are now Viola/Grant shippers as it turns out. Korrina's arc was really solid. I love that they let Valerie speak in Pokemon, something about that rules. Olympia is hella extra and I adore her double Meowstic thing, hers was my favorite gym battle. Wulfric actually wound up being kinda fun in the rematch, too.

Of the team's Pokemon, we wound up really liking Hawlucha, Bunnelby, and Eevee/Sylveon. Hawlucha, or Pawlucha, is great. Showboating luchador bird who is now Noibat's father. Bunnelby is consistently MVP, and the decision to have Bunnelby seem constantly exhausted because of Chespin and Pancham, but the only one Eevee feels completely comfortable with, is golden. Eevee itself is adorable, shy baby with its own great arc. I think they said "She" in reference to Eevee, but I'm just saying, the tail pattern is male.

I think the biggest complaint I have is that...none of this feels like it will have an impact on anything. We started Sun and Moon, so we know none of Ash's team remains, despite not all of them getting a proper sendoff. We know none of the travel companions stick around. We know that despite all these experiences and battles, Pikachu will go on to struggle against a Grubbin. There were like 16 seasons before this, and yet still Ash is learning basic lessons like how to deal with Gust. And I am just...so strongly put in the mind of "This would be more interesting with a different protagonist."

Actually that's only the second biggest. The biggest is Greninja. I hate that thing. They bring up an entire thing in the Bond Phenomenon, then go out of their way to say no, it's not just a strong bond, this Greninja is actually just that special. No one else ever can do that. And despite ending with the implied mega evolution energy in other parts of the world, mega evolution goes on to be dropped entirely, with nothing more to be discovered. It ties into that sense of "none of this matters." I imagine it's all like this, with each season being fairly standalone, but that just makes anything interesting as an open-ended question fade away to nothing, and any growth and development for Ash, which is little enough to begin with, amount to nothing. I'm choosing to interpret this as him receiving a TBI between each season, negating all progress. Pikachu gets one too.

There isn't a ton else I want to talk about, really. It was fairly fun. I'm keeping up with Sun and Moon, because I gotta develop an opinion on Anime Lusamine. We'll see how it goes.

💤 SLEEPING SIGN — is your oc a light sleeper or a heavy sleeper? how are their sleeping habits?

Hmm Fate’s a pretty deep sleeper I say? She was blessed with the ability to fall asleep easily too. She falls into bed and is instantly out like a light. She can be a bit difficult to wake up too, especially if she’s having a dream but if you shake her really roughly or scream in her face she’ll wake up.

However her habits? Not really the best. She had okay habits pre-aevium, because Calamity was very adamant she take care of herself. But coming to Aevium? Yeah everything that’s been happening kinda fucked her sleep schedule. Also, when she began to get nightmares too she tried to avoid sleeping when she could because she didn’t like having them.

Lucifer is a very very light sleeper. He grew up in a abusive household and that affected how he slept. He’s very alert of his surroundings, even in his sleep. He struggles to fall asleep too, and he absolutely refuses to unless he feels safe. He only really feels safe enough to fall asleep around his dragons or Nancy before she died.

When Nancy and King where kidnapped by Team Xen, Lucifer would often pass out from pure exhaustion because of everything that was happening. At least he began to sleep somewhat when he got King back…

Fate’s main team include her Incineroar Andie, Flotzel Captain, Meowstic (F) Marianette, Decideueye Fern, Nancy’s old Sylveon Carnation and a Mimikyu named Pandora!

She also has an Altaria named Cloudy, Elygem named Peaches and a Dedenne named Cheddar in the box. I haven’t really thought of other pokemon to give her (probably more fairies tho lol). I do plan on giving her a steel type eventually because of gay character development. I’m thinking a Togedemaru? Maybe she’ll get a poison type one day.. though I really only plan on her overcoming her fear of steel types lol.

Lucifer is a dragon trainer! Because along with being a renegade run he’s also a mono dragon challenge cuz… why not. So he has all available dragon types and will have any future available ones. I need a Duraludon you don’t understand, a steel type will be so helpful for Luci GIVE ME THE FUNNY BUILDING DRAGON JAN PLZ.

Anyway… Lucifer does have a few main pokemon aka the pokemon I’ve often featured in rp lol. His ‘starter’ is a Zwellious named King. He’s often out of his ball and around Lucifer. Emotional support dragon. He’s got a Garchomp named Queen and a Drampa named Councilor. A while not available yet, I do plan on his main legendary pokemon being Kyurem. I mean Calamity has Zekrom and I decided to give Fate a Reshiram because of that…might as well complete the Tao Trio.

Also, it’s not a dragon type but Charziard and Sceptilie too because they mega evolve into dragon types. Also due to rp purgatory shenanigans Lucifer kinda uhm… ended up hatching a fucking Nihilego? Yeah. Axel had a very fun time with that. Dw it’s very nice and it’s name is Fallen :)

Dream trip: I really want to visit the giant sequoias in California. (I have always been fascinated by trees and those are the tallest trees in the world, and so beautiful...! Sometime in the next few years I'll make it happen.

Anything I want right now: money, in the sense that either i will find another part time job either teaching/tutoring CS or actually doing front end dev or i'll be able to take on enough additional teaching/grading/etc hours at [Current Employer] that it won't be much of an issue any more. or i'll sell a bunch more fursuits! fun fact, i am a fursuit maker i did like 60 commissioned head bases last year :D (not on tumblr of course, this is a personal account.) also like, mental health but don't we all (specifically i want to be better at dealing with certain triggers without being frozen in the intensity of unwanted memories and having to just stand there like a moron... this takes time and practice, but i feel that improvement in this area is achievable too, in the long term.)

Your Perfect/Favorite Team:

okay so my perfect team is a mix of being well rounded AND my all time favs

• Heracross! I always like to imagine i wouldve been a weird kid who hung out with the bug types in the backyard and since its my all time fav, a heracross would end up being my starter

• Swampert! Hoenn is my FAV region and mudkip is my all time fav starter so it’s a no brainer that a swampert would be on my team ;)

• Alolan Raichu or Dedenne! i love them both so so SO much and i dont think i would have them both on the same team, so it would depend on my needs!

• Tropius! another one of my all time favs!! it may not have the best stats, but thats okay. battling was never my main focus anyway :3

• Aurorus! my fav of all the fossil pokemon, and a BEAUTY to boot!

• Chandelure! this last slot i debated on for a bit, but i would really like my role in a pokemon world to be more about being a breeder or professor and egg hatching is very important to both those roles! thus, my favorite flame bodied pokemon!!!

Zappity Zap Zap

Now then! Still keeping Aconite in the PC, I bring out a yellow plumed Oricorio and a Smoochum and get

Okay, I can work with these- welcome Buttercup the Buneary and Larkspur the Skarmory~!

I train them up (and gave Buttercup a Soothe Bell :3), and while training with them, Rue evolved!

Look at this cute baby bug!! Look at her!!

After that, I head onward to Ula'ula Island's Malie City to meet with Kukui. And while training through the Malie Garden, Buttercup evolved!

Handsome bunny lad~! After meeting up with the Professor, I meet up with Lillie at the library, and then take up the Kantonian Gym challenge, Cattail being an awesome CHAMP~... until he got knocked out by the Gym Leader's Machoke D: aw... I send him off back home to mom, be a good boy, Cattail!

I send out a Sableye, and get

Oh! A Zorua~! Welcome to the team Witch-Hazel the Zorua~ Moving onward, I then head to Route 10, where Larkspur got sniped out of the air in battle by a Fireman's Octillary (living up to the name, eh?). So I journey back to the Pokemon Center in Malie City to do a quick trade after sending Larkspur over to mom (Be good you steelie birb). Sending out a Mudbray and what do I get?

AAAAA~ My favorite Water Starter~ (one of them) Welcome to the team Lithops the Mudkip~ (Coming all the way from Germany~!)

So I return to Route 10, where Lithops’d quickly evolved

-sniff- They grow up so fast~ And during training, Rue learned Dig! This should be helpful, considering the coming Trial's Electric type involved! But before that, I make sure to get Lithops to strong enough to stand up against the local Pokemon, and now we're ready! Now then, let's get this started. Rue was MVP for the Electric Trial, easily knocking out both the Elekid and Electabuzz with her digging (hope they don't mind some foundation damage, eheheh...)- then came the biggest Togedemaru I've ever seen came down from the ceiling and stopped disaster, before turning on me. Rue was awesome, easily doing damage... then the Dedenne was called on and I swapped out Rue with Lithops, and he proceeded to soak them down with mud!

After all of that, Witch-Hazel evolved!

And we managed to pass the Electric Trial

Woohoo! But this episode doesn't end there, I keep through Route 11 and Lithops evolved

Then, keeping onward to Route 12, upon meeting with Hapu and getting Mudsdale registered to the Ride Pager, I make my way towards the Powerplant at Blush Mountain, and after using Rare Candies on Rue and Gladiolus, they evolved~!

Look at these beauties! Now then, with all that out of the way, time to keep going, to the Ghost Trial >:0!

Mistakes Were Made

A series of disconnected oneshots that poke fun at the fandom hivemind, canon, and past!me. I’m taking things that I’ve either observed or done myself and reframing them in parody where hopefully we can just all have some low stakes fun and, at best, maybe learn something about our favorite characters and writing.

Chapter Three- Walking Pokemon

It was a standard day in Johto. Maybe Kanto. Must have been spring or summer, because the trees were green and Misty was dressed like she had no concern for the weather or UV rays, and our trio found themselves walking…somewhere. Probably a town, probably for a badge, because rarely did anything else happen in Johto.

"Hey, where's Pikachu?" Misty suddenly asked.

"Gah! I left him in the last chapter!" Ash cried, scrambling as he began to run back the way he'd come. "I gotta go get him!"

"Were it if you could," Brock said. "But you actually had him last two chapters ago and last chapter without him is already posted. So it's too late to just run back and get him."

"No!" Ash whined. "No one will notice if I just grab him and put him on my shoulder again, will they?"

"Probably not?" Misty offered, though the idea was weak with confidence. "I mean, you didn't notice you'd left him behind."

"Hey!" Ash steamed. "It wasn't me! It was the author!"

"Doesn't matter, Ash," Brock said. "Now we're stuck without him until the author slips him back in. Let's just hope we don't need him in the meanti—"

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

Ash's eyes widened with worry. "Brock, you jinxed us!"

"Actually, this can't be that bad, right?" Misty said. "If Pikachu's not here, then Team Rocket can't steal him."

"Stop interrupting us!"

The shout came from Jessie, and while Ash, Misty, and Brock most definitely heard it, they continued to ignore the old motto.

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"I'm not sure, Misty," Brock mused. "They've dropped in on us before when we've been missing Pikachu and they still manage to bother us."

"Hey!" Misty shouted, her voice shrill enough that Ash bothered to cover his ears. "We don't have Pikachu, so why don't you guys scram!"

"No Pikachu?" James asked. "Why not? Is this a no-Pokémon AU?"

"But I'm here, Jimmy," Meowth piped up, popping out from where he'd been waiting for his part of the motto. It now seemed as though that part wasn't coming, so why bother hiding?

"The author forgot about him," Ash answered dejectedly.

"Tch, typical," Jessie said. "They never manage to remember to write how beautiful I am."

"I guess some things go without saying, Jess," James commented.

"Hey! It looks like Togepi isn't here eitha!" Meowth exclaimed.

Misty suddenly stared at her arms as though she'd just lost something she'd been holding. What had she been doing with her arms up until that moment? She had no idea.

"Maybe this story takes place before we got Togepi?" Brock offered.

"There wasn't ever a specified setting," James agreed.

"But then how do we know about Togepi, Brock?" Ash asked.

"Third person omniscient?" Misty suggested.

"This is a mess," Jessie groaned, walking away from the twerps. "I refuse to take part in a story that's so poorly crafted. It's a waste of my talents."

"But you took part in dat terrible school play in Alola, Jess!"

"Wow, Alola?" Brock exclaimed. "That's way in the future."

"Your love life is way in the future," Jessie grumbled. "C'mon, let's go find the moral."

"…Where's the moral?" Ash asked, watching as all three of his foes retreated.

In unison, they answered: "Where Pikachu is."

Moral: Okay, so this is the thing I'm probably most guilty of out of everything I'm going to write about because I do it all the darn time. Pikachu is the worst, because any story with Ash (99% of my stories) inevitably have Pikachu. He's always there but often not doing anything, but you have to write him in just to show that he's there. Togepi is less active and therefore even clumsier to include, same for Dedenne, while Axew is easier to hide and Piplup and Squishy have more personality. But this is a toughie. Godspeed to any Pokémon writer trying to manage this. I feel your pain.

Exception: Obviously non-Pokémon AUs. If there's another solution besides that, please let me know, because someone needs to save me from myself.

Pokemon x nintendogs

You see that ^ Yeah that up there THAT Is what I want to see from nintendo. (also no beta we die like men) I mean sure let’s go pikachu/eevee was... g8. But. I need more. I want MORE than just sword and shield feather toy.  I want a pokemon game for those who are stuck in their npc houses BEcause that’s the energy I have.  I want. Cozy. I want. CUTE. I want to actually play with my pokemon.  And here is my idea.  YOu know how nintendogs had the version exclusive editions like chihuhua and golden retriever? Yeah that’s nice for dogs and everything. But VERSONS FOR POKEMON IS . EVERYTHING.  Pokemon daycare. I wanna pet my pokemon. and not just like stand still pokemon I want them to roll over onto their tummies and be like scratch my neck.  I want to have bathroom shinanigans. I want bathing your pokemon to be a game of either They get clean OR YOU’RE THE ONE GETTING CLEAN.  Due to personality/(it’s nature) types not every pokemon will lie down for cleaning time. Some will be like that dog who stole the hose and is now running at you with water getting you wet. and the screen is now watery.  It’s time for food. prevent your pokemon from eatting everything in the bowl.  Is your pokemon the lax nature? is your pokemon laying in their water bowl after drinking? well time to get your towel before they run across the floor and make all your furnature wet.  Meet with me!: you have a friend with the same game or different version Link your (switches/ds’s ) together to trade items, have one of your pokemons meet your friends pokemon and have friendship or rivalry occur! watch them play or fight over your toys!  You have a electric stone and want your pikapi to stay the same? Give it to your friend with a eevee so they can have the jolteon of your dreams.  Watch wild interactions between the games.  You can choose between your favorite pokemon and unlock more friends too.  Or you can find special eggs or wild poke which have secret pokefriends.  Encounter amazing ledgendarys on your walk. (because ledgendary they’re unavailable for care)  Take wonderful walks around the beach, forests, mountains, towns, and other fun locations. Encounter other trainers with witty diolog and gym leaders.  Shop for furnature, toys, food, snacks, fruit, furnature, and even redecorate your home.  Electric version:  Unlocked immedietly :  Pichu, pikachu, Raichu, (alola raichu) , plusle, minun, emolga, pachirisu , shinx, dedenne, togedemaru, yamper, morpeko, Secret poke: Jolteon, mareep, elekid, electrike, blistle, joltik,  Helioptile Ledgendary encounters: Zapdos, Raikou, zurkitree, zeraora Flavortext time: Pichu: This good baby you just hatched from a egg is ready for love. Inexperienced and clumsy but ready for what life has in store. Careful for spark showers! Pikachu: Ready for adventures and to spend time with you. A world favorite. \ Raichu: This pal might be a bit older than the rest but knows it’s way about. If this pokemon glows in the dark... it’s best to figure out what has them riled up. If you choose them it’s good to be in contact with your local power plant. Alolan Raichu: Goodness Perhaps pancakes are the key to flight? This soft friend has many more things to learn about!  Plusle: Good vibes from this poke. Relaxing for those a little on the downside. it’s electric shocks are thereputic. A good pokemon for lifes little victories! Minun: Careful for tangles on this poke! it’s going to give you a relaxing time if you are a busy person. Has easing energies... and electricity! Or it will surely energize you with spark showers.  Emolga: this little one likes flying in freedom. Even stormy days are a adventure with this one. They like there food all to themselves. Make sure to watch them around bugs...  Pachirisu: Sharing is caring! this pokemon is good at getting along with others and playing. Pachirisu are a bit of horders... so make sure to know where their hiding places are for potentially forgotton food and hair balls. watch the hairballs... Shinx: this cutie pattootie is a bit of a runner! It likes energy and often stores it’s electricity in it’s legs. If it gets upset it get’s  a bit... blinding.  Luxio: no matter what it tells you with that pouty face it gets lonley easy. It might be good to have a few pokemon for it to feel at home... Watch those claws! Luxray: takes it’s family very serious but loves unconditionally. Try not to worry them it can see through anything so... well. Just try not to think about that in the restroom... Dedenne: This little one likes to talk to it’s friends whereever they are... through electricity. They can often sip electricity out of your wall outlets if they don’t have enough.... might want to invest in a raichu for it’s electrical needs...  Togedemaru: this lovely one is a good friend. If you can handle it. invest in bandages and rubber gloves for this friend. I’m sure they will love you just the same.  ... No loud sounds for this pokemon... Morkpeko: this soft friend has a bit of a temper when hungry. It’s naughty in nature. So keep it fed or don’t... but feel the wrath of hangryness... we have all been there... It loves seeds so keep a few around. maybe blinker seeds in case that side comes out...  Yamper: A very food motivated friend. Honestly we all know someone like this. Very loving friend either way. besides who can resist that cute face and tail wag? Boltund: After growing up a bit this good poke can run real fast. like... REal fast. might need to invest in some armor for walks now... incase this one is distracted and takes you on a bit of a drag instead of a walk.  --- Jolteon: Wow your pokemon found a friend! It seems to be weak... would you like to take care of this new pokemon? This friend is very emotional... but now that it has you it’s very thankful and greatful for everything. Even if it accidently shocks you. You know they don’t mean it.  Joltik: Yamper has found a little friend sticking to him. will you keep this new friend? (or: you have found a soft silky egg... with a nice buzzing sensation... will you care for the egg?: ((no: Let’s leave this at a pokemon center... they know what to do.)) ) This little pal is soft and fuzzy and often makes a nice static feeling. Often a good pair for raichus!  Galvantula: Our little pal has grown up big and strong. Often makes wonderful silky doilies and nets. You can sell them because often time they can make them everyday. after you de-electrify them.  Mareep: You found a little lost mareep! upon checking with any near by farms no one seems to own it. And It keeps following you... will you keep it?  This soft friend has wonderful wool that you can sell when it sheds it... The spots that missing wool is a sign it’s going to evolve soon...  Flaaffy: this cute friend makes a lovely night light. Although do you ever think it looks in the mirror and gets self concious about it losing it’s wool....? Probably not. Ampharos: enjoys watching TV with you. Often loves superhero shows. Has big dreams of being a hero. It’s favorite places to walk is in the forest and the beach.  Electrike: This poor pokemon can’t run as fast as the other electrike... Because of this it’s been abandoned... will you care for him...? Even though it’s not the fastest electrike... you have still decided you need to wear body armor during walks... to weigh it down... so you don’t go flying!  Manctric: your kind friend often needs trips to the power plant. It doesn’t mind. Sometimes the sneeky poke runs off to the powerplant without you... What they don’t know is that you don’t mind as long as the house doesn’t burn down...  ect...

Events:  Power up: head over to your local powerplant and get that excess electricity out! recieve poke(money) as payment!  Fruit picking: pick fruit off of trees for poke! Warning some fruit are amazing electrified. but some arn’t!  Contest time: Show how obedient your pokemon is in style and in the care you’ve given them!  Your home!: regular old house with many rubber surfaces, powerplant, fluffy clouds, futuristic neon house.  --- And other fun versions that I just don’t have the brain power to think of.  like  Eevee/normal type Fire friends water palace one iwth the forest edition spooky ghost fairy babies Fuck it master version with just ledgendarys and mythicals.  and you know the rest.  like fire types you have to stop them from.... laying in lava pockets in the mountains, regular house, fake volcano, cuddle crator, funky fake fire house.  water types: jumping contest!, race of the fastest, contest time,. House types: a house with a kiddy pool, a fake beach, under the ocean, a river, a lake, a pool, or a giant bathroom.  Bug contests: polination station, ect, ghost contests: creepy pasta~, halloween festival!, contest time! I hope you see what I’m trying to put down here. But will nintendo respond to this one single post? Probably not.WHY? I DoN’T KNOW. (probably because they’ll have to answer if pokemon poob or pee. I don’t know if they want to tackle that.)  This is my hot take.

Just because my brain is all over the place today, I was thinking of what my Pokemon team would be if Pokemon existed in our world like regular animals. In that case, people wouldn't necessarily get starter Pokemon and their team would have to be derived from what's available from where they actually live. Like, for example, I live in Minnesota and am not gonna come across a Tropeus anytime soon.

So I did some thinking and I think I came up with my team:

1. Trubbish- I just started my career in waste management and have always been passionate about recycling, so I would have an interest in befriending one of these little buddies early on in my life

2. Pidgeotto- My favorite animal that I see in my day-to-day life are sparrows. They just make me so happy and I want to cup a little round one in my hands and feel how soft he is. I know if they were Pokemon I wouldn't think twice at putting a little dude on my team.

3. Magnemite- I just moved to the city three years ago and I can't get enough of it!! I love the city and the industrial and busy and steel feeling of it all!! If Pokemon were real, I'm sure I would've caught a Magnemite in the downtown area a couple of months after I started exploring the urban area.

4. Togekiss- Ok, bear with me here, it's kind of a rare Pokemon but I have a reason for it. When I was really little, I bought a life size Togepi plush from a city-wide garage sale and I LOVED it! I held it in my arms like Misty from the TV show, and I also had a really big facination with eggs growing up. So I think a togekiss would be an appropriate addition to the team!

5. Butterfree (not for fighting)- Another thing I loved as a child was butterflies! At the State Fair every year, my favorite part was going into the monarch house and buying 2-3 caterpillars to raise at home. When the caterpillars would become crystallises, I would tape them to my bedroom walls so that they had enough space to hatch and my mom even bought me butterfly decorations to hang around my room. Seeing wild butterflies still puts a smile on my face.

6. Tanglegrowth- Finally, I need a Pokemon that I would've gotten on a hike! I absolutely love hiking and do it a lot (almost every weekend in the summer). Therefore, I don't think it would be out of the question to say that I would catch a Pokemon sometime when I was out in a state park. Along with this, I'm an environmental science major and love being outside, so a grass type on my team is a must!

7. Dedenne- One of my favorite experiences growing up was raining three Syrian hamsters, and I still love hamsters today! I gave a lot of love and attention to each of the little dudes, and I had a really close connection with one of them. I remember reading books and articles and going to websites about pocket pets took up a lot of my time when I was in middle school, and dedenne would have been absolutely up my alley.
