I'm kinda freaking out because apparently a medical bill of mine got sent to a debt collector-- I didn't even know I had to pay this because my parents usually pay my bills and when I asked them they said not to worry about it. (I was 20 then, and I'm still on their insurance so they usually take care of it all). Is this going to ruin my credit? I don't even have any loans or credit so far so this is the only thing that's happened to it. I would have paid if I even knew but they never sent me a letter or an email until the one letting me know about the debt collection. It says I have until the 18th to dispute the debt. I don't really know what to do. Would calling to clear this up and paying right away do anything or am I just screwed?

Call them and pay it. You can and will recover from this! Your credit is going to be fine.

Also... make sure you tell your parents they screwed up. You don't have to be confrontational, just say something like "Hey, did you know about this bill? Because it's in collections now. I've paid it, but in the future, please notify me if you receive any bills for my medical treatment so I can handle it properly without it damaging my credit."

In general, if you can't pay the full amount of a bill, it's best to contact them and pay something. Here's more advice:

I got to go to a Jhariah concert recently and it was super fun! Honestly, I really appreciate the bits of advice that came through on my other post about food and now I have an even bigger question for tumblr: what do I do when I have no job or money, but have debt collectors clawing at me from all sides? I apparently owe an emergency room $700 (should’ve been charged to insurance, instead it got sent to me, can’t charge insurance anymore either), but my last paycheck from any job wasn’t even that, and I had used part of it to pay it at that time already ($50, all I could even spare (and the only other job I’ve had since 2022 provided mostly in cash with tips so can’t pay a debt with that)) and now that debt collector is literally taking money directly from my checking account and I was fired (for no reason) from that job. I haven’t been able to even find work for more than a month at a time since before 2023 and I literally have cents in my checking account that they’re taking putting me in the negative. Any ideas? I have not even a dollar to my name anymore and I can’t because if I put it in my checking account it’ll be taken, so I can’t pay for gas, food for myself- anything. It really fucking sucks and I don’t know how to stay sane anymore.

Yooo I’m back with another Music Rant, and I’m featuring Jhariah!

Discovered him yesterday through a post he made on insta, referencing what else, Fall Out Boy. Realized the background song slapped and decided to find it on Spotify.

Y’all all of these are absolute bops, they’re all so high energy, exploding into the scene with a bang. I love the big band influences and musical touch of Catch Me If You Can and Flight Of The Crows. I adore the vocaloid influences of RISK, RISK, RISK! and DEBT COLLECTOR, and maybe it’s a little weird to compare the two, but come on! Listen to these two and then listen to Mane Mane Psychotropic or Headphone Actor! Maybe it wasn’t directly influenced, but my mind immediately jumped to vocaloid.

Idk whether to laugh or cry over this. I got a bill from a debt collector that we actually owe on and this is what it said.

Lmao I broke my promise (idk I never promised them anything lol). I think they’re mad at me for being poor and I can’t pay them almost a grand. Oh well. XD

But it sucks I could pay them when I get taxes back next year but I doubt they’ll take that waiting period well. Sigh. I hate being low income. I got my masters degree why can’t I get a decent job! Ugh.
