Note
If someone is lying about their test results, I think that would have to be Aaron? Cain and Caleb have kids (and grandkids), so if they have the brca gene, others are at risk too, and lying about it wouldn't be fair to them (I assume that's the reason Chas isn't telling Nate or Nicky to get tested in the Woolpack scene, they don't have to if Cain/Caleb test negative?). If it's Aaron, that's his burden alone.
Yeah I was thinking that too. Though it would be added drama if Cain tested positive and had another existential crisis about it. but let's look at it this way
Cain tests positive so Nate, (debbie and jack in off screen land), Sarah, KYLE, and Isaac all potentially have it too. Kyle possibly having the gene when Matty and Amy finally set a date for their wedding? it's possible!
Caleb testing positive and Nicky potentially having it too - and would give Lewis Cope something to do other than playing Nicky watching his mum and his boyfriend 'flirt' with each other.
Aaron testing positive... idk... another instalment of Make Danny Miller Cry On TV. Aaron doesn't have kids, isn't in a relationship... if he tests positive the drama stays with him. They've already made him be nice to chas again because she has cancer...
So yeah Aaron will probably test positive and lie about it so chas won't worry while undergoing treatment 🙄

The Law Inside
“[To be sure] sin was in the world before ever the Law was given, but sin is not charged to men’s account where there is no law [to transgress].” Romans 5:13AMPC
Before Moses, God kept talking to people, Cain, Able, Abraham, Noah for example. Man sinned, and sinned. Sin got so bad and so ugly that God destroyed the world with a flood. People weren’t just having sexual relations with same sex, but with animals and demons. Idol worship was so prevalent that Nimrod tried to build a monumental tower to the gods, where God had to come down and confuse their languages. Murder was normal. Lying was normal with very few people speaking the truth. This is why it was so wonderful for Abraham to believe what God said.
Moses was given the Law to show people — this is what sin looks like— telling them please obey. Even health rules were given to keep people safe. Before the Law, it wasn’t that people weren’t sinning, they just didn’t know what sin was. After the Law, they knew what was expected of them until Jesus.
Then Jesus came. He said— John 10:30NIV “I and the Father are one.” — John 5:19NIV “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” — John 12:50NIV “…whatever I say is just what the Father has told Me to say.” He spent three years doing what Father God said to do— love. heal, forgive. Three years Jesus spoke the words of love, forgiveness, mercy and grace.
No longer do people need to live according to the written Law. Instead God’s people live with the Law inside of them, directing them.“But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people.” Hebrews 8:10NLT was reiterated from Jeremiah 31:33. This Law is in us from the Holy Spirit within.
From my years of walking with the LORD God, I’ve learned, Yahweh’s nature IS NOT one looking for a way to destroy us but a way to get us saved from sin, ourselves, and satan. Mercy, grace and love are the characteristics of God. This God Who never wanted to impute the charges of sin against us.
Do you see this God of love Who loves you? He never wants to charge you with sin and consequences but to set you free. Will you accept this God of love? It’s your choice. You choose.
LET’S PRAY: LORD God thank You for being the God of love, grace and mercy. Help us to trust Him more, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I cherish my sleep. I mean I REALLY REALLY value it. Me and my bed are on a first name basis.
So it's a REALLY bad idea to piss me off by interrupting it repeatedly.
But this bear has been bother Debbie and I for WEEKS now and decided that tonight was MY turn!!
First I let Sutter Cain out. usually he's enough to chase them off, but this bastard was stubborn and kept coming back to go after my garbage can.
I keep bottles of ammonia around just for this purpose. So I splashed a bunch on, in, and around my can. Not 10 minutes later, guess who comes back and makes me get out of bed.
Ok, I thought, I'll show you. I added bleach AND ammonia to the can. HAve a faceful of THAT, sucker! I thought for SURE this time I would be able to go back to bed. I had JUST closed my eyes when the dogs begin barking and I hear the BANG of my can being knocked over again.
This time after I chase it off, I grab one of my home made spears and set it by the door. Make Sutter Cain stay inside so I don't accidentally hurt him. My aim is pretty good so I threw it as the bastard was running away and tagged his flank.
Most likely it didn't penetrate, but he felt it. I tried going to bed ONE LAST TIME!!! Nope, he came back again.
At this point, I have finally had enough. I grabbed my spear, set up a chair, and I waited outside. The thing with these bears is that as long as you don't move, they will walk right past you. So I let this son of a bitch, his big ugly head would come up to my waist if I were standing up, come to within about 5 feet of me, and then I stabbed him RIGHT in the chest. I KNOW that penetrated because I felt it.
Not enough to kill the damn thing, sadly, but it's going to sting a bit.
Bear lurched back, hissed, half raised a paw, then swung around and DASHED through my son's little blue wading pool to get away form me. In the morning I'll check if there's a blood trail and deal with it if so.
It's been almost an hour now and blessed silence. Not a single warning bark, although Sutter Cain is still outside on patrol. Hopefully he finally got the hint he's not welcome around here.
You can assume I'm exaggerating, straight up lying, or simply insane, as long as you let me fucking sleep.

here we go, a little robron-ified fix-it fic to soothe my anger after this week’s episodes. there’s slight divergence in that i've had debbie and cain not leaving for scotland just yet, but other than that everything’s still canon!
AO3 link here
There was a building headache throbbing behind Robert’s eyelids and it was called Chas Dingle.
He’d been in the pub for what felt like an eternity, listening to his mother-in-law hold court behind the bar, rehashing the latest Charity-related drama in excruciating detail with the rest of the Dingles.
Apparently Aaron and Robert had missed a lot during their week-long holiday to Scotland with Seb. They’d only popped in to pick up a takeaway, but within seconds of stepping through the door they’d been roped into sitting with the group, had two pints set down in front of them and now they were well and truly stuck.
“I mean, this is a new low, even for Charity,” Chas lamented for what had to be the fifth time, shaking her head and gesturing to Paddy, who was standing close by to nod in agreement to everything she said. “We’re done with her. She’s a liability, I can’t work with her anymore. The sooner she gives up her half of the pub and lets Marlon buy her out, the better. And I won’t have her under my roof, either.”
“Well, I’d offer her my room now that I’m staying in Jacobs Fold, but Mandy would probably put up a fight,” Belle said with a shrug. “Besides, Dad says he doesn't want Charity there either.”
Robert thought it seemed a bit harsh of Zak to dictate who could or couldn’t stay in the cottage, considering he didn’t actually live there – or even in the village – anymore, but he kept that to himself. Getting involved in the debate would take more energy than he cared to use.
“Well, she’s not still living with us, that’s for sure,” Chas insisted, her mouth pursed into a thin line. “She’ll have to go.”
“I’d let her stay with me and April, but we don’t have room,” said Marlon, looking concerned. “Not with Billy and Ellis, too. And I don’t think she’ll want to, now that she knows I’m the one buying her out of the business.”
“Oh, I wasn’t hinting, Marlon, it’s fine. Frankly, I don’t give a damn where she goes.”
“Hm, she can sleep in a ditch for all I care,” Debbie sniffed, nose crinkling like there was a bad smell hovering around the bar.
“Alright Debs,” Cain grumbled quietly. “We get the picture.”
“It’s no less than she deserves!” Chas cried, quick to back Debbie up. Robert didn't know when it had happened, but the two of them seemed thick as thieves ever since Debbie had come back to the village.
“Oh, come on, you two,” Marlon said tiredly, rubbing his temples. “Charity’s gone through a lot these last few months, she’s been struggling ever since she lost Vanessa. Maybe we should be tryna help her instead of letting her self-destruct?”
Chas snorted, hand propped on her hip. “What, after she dropped Debbie in it with Al? And tried to sleep with him? After what she did to our Noah?”
“What, stopping him from being daft enough to join the army while hiding a life-threatening medical condition?” Robert snapped before he could stop himself, his patience hanging by the thinnest thread. “Wow, better call social services.”
He found himself on the receiving end of a very familiar glare, Chas’s nostrils flaring as she looked at him with disdain.
“I was actually referring to the slap she gave him,” she said lowly. “Were you not listening?”
“No, not really,” Robert muttered into his pint, earning himself a small snort from Aaron.
As the Dingles continued bemoaning the current situation, Robert nudged his husband and leaned over to whisper in his ear.
“Can we please get the hell out of here? I can’t take much more of this.”
Aaron sighed and scrubbed a hand over his face. “Still need the takeaway, I’ve been dyin’ for this burger.”
“Do you see Marlon going to the kitchen anytime soon?”
“Oi, Marlon!” Aaron barked, making the taller man jump. “How much longer for the food? We’re starving.”
“Oh, er, Luke’s in the kitchen, he’s sorting it.”
“Great,” Robert groaned, the pain in his head increasing. “They’ll probably be burnt to a crisp if that idiot’s the one making them.”
“Fuck it, let’s just finish these pints and go, pick up some pizzas from David’s or summat,” Aaron muttered, scowling when Paddy’s voice joined the heated discussion.
“I don’t care if she’s regrets it, she’s pushed things too far this time,” he said decisively, arms folded to match Chas’s. Robert absently wondered if he had a nice view up there on his high horse.
“I know what she did was terrible,” Lydia piped up. “And I’m not impressed with her myself. But she seems genuinely sorry, I’m sure she’d do anything to fix things.”
“Yeah, but that’s her all over, isn’t it? Act first, feel bad about it later,” Debbie drawled, swigging back her glass of white wine. “Honestly, I don’t know why any of us are surprised. She’s always been selfish, Noah deserves better.”
“Sure you’re not just sore about losing all that cash you nicked?” Robert asked, brows raised.
Debbie just narrowed her eyes at him and carried on talking. “I can’t see Noah giving her another chance, not after this.”
Chas nodded in agreement. “Even if the poor lad wanted to forgive her, I wouldn’t let him.”
“Maybe just let Noah and Charity sort things out for themselves,” Marlon tried, but that just had Chas’s finger flying up to silence him.
“No, I’m sorry, Marlon, but this is the final straw. I mean, we all know Charity’s never been a perfect mother but slapping him was a step too far. Some things are just unforgivable.”
“Bit rich coming from you.” Aaron’s quiet interjection swiftly brought the conversation to an abrupt halt.
After a brief pause, Chas’s head swivelled to look at Aaron in confusion, clearly uncertain as to whether she was the one he’d been addressing.
“Sorry, what?”
Aaron shrugged. “Just sayin’, if smacking your kid around’s an unforgivable offence, bad enough to get you kicked out the family, you probably shouldn’t be here. You and me wouldn’t even be talking right now.”
Robert held his breath and watched as Chas froze. He was aware of some of the altercations between Aaron and his mum in recent years. Aaron had told him during one of the many nights they'd spent curled up together, sharing all their memories, thoughts and secrets, about some of the things she’d said and done. Like slapping him in the face when she found out about their affair, for one.
Now, he could see some of those events playing out in her memory as she floundered, eyes darting nervously between Aaron and the rest of the family, who were all watching the pair in silence.
“Aaron, you and me, we’ve… I know we’ve had our ups and downs over the last few years, had our fair share of rows, lashed out… And I’m sorry, but that’s different, we’re both adults. Noah’s just a kid.”
“And what about when I was a kid?”
Robert stiffened at the words, and he quickly turned to look at Aaron’s hunched profile. That, he knew nothing about. Aaron’s face remained impassive, giving nothing away.
“What’s this?” Cain said, frowning.
Chas stared at him for a moment, before turning back to Aaron with a slightly bewildered laugh.
“I've got no idea. What’re you on about, love?”
“When I was, what, 11? 12? You hit me then, too.”
“No.” She shook her head quickly, before speaking over the sound of a few surprised intakes of breath from the group. “No, that can’t be right, you didn’t even live here when you were 12.”
“It was when I was visiting,” Aaron said. “Course the family weren’t there to see that one like they saw Charity and Noah. It was just the two of us, back there – ” He pointed towards the back of the pub. “ – in the kitchen. No witnesses.”
Robert saw the exact moment a flicker of recognition appeared in Chas’s eyes.
“Oh… ”
“Coming back to you now, is it?”
“Chas, is that true?” Lydia asked, looking shocked.
Chas ignored her in favour of staring at Aaron with wide eyes, caught off guard. “Oh love, that – that wasn’t – ”
“You had a go at me for not wanting to stay with you or preferring Sandra to you, I dunno. Can’t remember now. But I do remember you tellin’ me I ‘didn’t deserve a mother’ and then slapping me across the face. It left a mark.”
Robert's hands clenched on the bar as red hot anger rapidly surged through his body, and he glared furiously as Chas. She looked around helplessly, turning to Paddy for support. He just opened and closed his mouth a couple of times, looking lost and uncomfortable at the unexpected turn of events.
“Christ’s sake, Chas,” Cain grumbled from his spot next to Debbie, looking thoroughly unimpressed.
“I’m – I didn’t – ”
“I was probably being a bit of a little shit to be fair,” Aaron cut off her stammering with a rueful smile. “Mouthing off – like Noah was doing to Charity, from the sounds of it.”
“Aaron love… I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise you still – that you were still upset about that… ”
“I’m not,” said Aaron, matter-of-fact. Robert believed him, too. He knew his husband well enough to tell when he was lying or putting on a brave face to hide his hurt. This wasn’t one of those times. He wasn’t upset, he was frustrated.
“I’m not after an apology, this ain’t about me. All I’m sayin’ is, you might wanna take a look at that big glass house of yours, before you start chucking stones at Charity for doing the exact same thing you did to me more than once.”
He drained the last dregs of his pint and slid off the bar stool.
“You’re the last person who should be judging someone for making mistakes with their kids. I should know.” Aaron cast a quick glance over the group. “Same goes for the lot of you.”
Cain and Marlon had the grace to look somewhat sheepish, while Belle looked down awkwardly. Debbie just huffed and took another gulp of wine. Aaron rolled his eyes and grabbed his coat, shoving his arms in the sleeves.
“Robert, give Charity a ring, would you? Tell her we’ve got a spare room with her name on it.”
Robert pulled his phone out of his pocket. “My pleasure.”
“Er, no, hang on!” Debbie snapped, a hand flying up to halt them. “We’ve already agreed she’s not part of the family anymore, it’s decided.”
“I didn’t agree to anythin’,” Aaron snapped right back. “You wanna fall out with Charity, that’s your business. It’s got nowt to do with us.”
“Besides,” Robert waved his phone in the air with a smirk. “I’m technically the one inviting her and since I’m not a Dingle, your weird little rules don’t apply to me. Thank god.”
“Come on, Rob, let’s go.”
“Aaron no, get back here, this needs sorting! Aaron!”
Aaron ignored Chas’s protesting shrieks and started walking towards the door. Robert began to follow him, before pausing and turning back to the group, zeroing in on Debbie.
“Correct me if I'm wrong, but it wasn’t that long ago you were tryna do her in – ” He gestured to Chas. “ – for shagging your bloke while you were still with him. Threatened her with a… shotgun, was it?”
Debbie’s mouth twisted in displeasure.
“You weren’t even here then!” Chas cried, jaw hanging open in outrage. “That is none of your – ”
“If you can get past that,” Robert spoke over her. “Then you can stop calling Charity the devil for nearly-but-not sleeping with your scumbag ex. Get over yourself.”
Aaron touched the small of his back. “Come on. If we start listing everything this lot have ever done wrong, we’ll be here all night.”
They stalked out of the pub without a backward glance. As they stepped out onto the street, Robert exhaled heavily.
“Always fun catching up with your family.”
Aaron huffed a small laugh and stuck his hands in his pockets. “Didn’t even get our food after all that.”
He made to start walking towards David’s, but stopped when Robert gently touched his arm.
“You okay?”
“Yeah, m’fine.”
Robert hesitated, fingers curling on Aaron’s sleeve.
“You… never told me about that. That she hit you when you were… ” He trailed off uncertainly, not wanting to sound accusing, like Aaron owed him an explanation.
Aaron hummed and turned to face him, their bodies naturally swaying into each other.
“Haven’t thought about it in ages, if I’m honest. Not for years.”
“I’m sorry.”
For all Aaron said he was fine, that Chas’s actions from 20 years ago didn’t bother him anymore, Robert knew from his own experience the lingering scars that kind of event could leave.
“It’s okay.” Aaron gave him a small smile and pulled him in for a soft kiss.
They stayed like that for a few moments, until Robert’s phone buzzed in his hand. He pulled away regretfully to read the words on the screen.
“It’s Diane. She says she’s with Charity, found her crying in the gazebo.”
Aaron sighed and stuck his hands in his pockets. “Come on, then. Let’s go get her.”
Robert fired a quick text to Diane, telling her they were on their way, before slinging an arm over Aaron’s shoulders as they started walking.
“We’re really gonna have Charity as a housemate again, then?” He asked with a teasing grin.
Aaron groaned and leaned into him. “Looks that way. But if she pervs on us in the shower again, she's out on her ear.”
Robert winced as that particular memory came rushing to the surface.
“God help us.”

Take a chance, make a change - Part 3 (complete)
Look, I finished it! Only 4 months late! Also, my ignoring the whole Katie business isn’t intentional but it’s happened now so let’s go with it. As this is an AU and I wasn’t killing Val, I’m afraid Ross had to be sacrificed instead. “What the hell are you doing here?” He comes to, to the sound of Chas’s voice, wincing as he lifts his head. He must’ve fallen asleep resting on Aaron’s bed. He looks at him, still sleeping. “Oi, I’m talking to you.”
“It sounded more like shouting to me.” He stands up because he knows she’s not going to let him stay. He was lucky he’d managed to stay all night, a sympathetic nurse just smiling when she came in to check on Aaron. She was nice, she’d told him he was showing good signs, they were pretty confident now he’d be alright. “I’m going, alright.”
“Back to Chrissie?” He doesn’t look but he can tell she’s sneering.
“No.” Now he looks at her. “I told her everything. I’m stopping at Vic’s until I get sorted…if he wants to see me.”
“He won’t.”
“If he does, that’s where I’ll be.” He doesn’t give her chance to answer, takes one more look at Aaron and leaves.
*****
It’s excruciating keeping away but he knows it’s pointless trying to visit when any number of Dingles will be on hand to keep him away. All he can do is hang on Vic’s every word when she comes back from the pub with news.
“Well?” He’s out of the chair the second she comes in from her shift. Nothing to do all day except wonder about the future and that only took up so much time and her shift seemed endless.
“Can I at least get my coat off before you start?”
“Vic!” He’d told her everything when he got back from the hospital, listened to her shocked questions, answered what he could until he was worn out from talking. Vic was always the best of them, took everything in her stride. “Please.”
“Chas didn’t tell me, probably knew I’d tell you, but I heard Zak and Cain talking. Sounds like Aaron’s awake.”
“Is he…I mean…” He perches on the arm of the sofa, can’t stand up any longer, the relief turning into something like fear.
“I don’t know anything else, but Chas is working, so he must be ok, right?”
“Yeah. Yeah, course, I’m just being daft.” He sighs. “Did you see Andy today?” He hasn’t seen him, but Vic had told him everything, her suggestion, knowing it would only end in disaster if the two of them talked.
“I called in to Debbie’s. It’s all a mess, she’s up at Moira’s, Pete’s nowhere to be seen. Poor Finn is stuck between his Mum and Dad arguing about arrangements for Ross. I reckon he’ll be there a few more days with the kids, at least until Debbie’s well enough to go home on her own.”
“I know he won’t want me here. I’ll find somewhere soon, Vic.”
“I told ya, you can stay here as long as you like. It’s my house.” She smiles but he knows she’s stuck in the middle, Adam barely tolerates him, and if Andy comes back he’ll be completely out of place.
“Are you going to the hospital then?” She asks when he doesn’t move.
“I don’t know what to say to him.”
“Well start by telling him you’ve left Chrissie. That’s what he wanted, right? From what you said…”
“Yeah, but…what if he’s changed his mind? What if I’ve thrown everything away for nothing?”
“If you’re just going to sit there and wallow then I’m going to get on making my tea. Go to the hospital and see Aaron. We both know you’re going to and if I were you I’d go before the rest of his lot turn up.”
“Thanks Vic.” He gets up, presses a kiss to her cheek and grabs his jacket, unable to resist one look in the hall mirror to check his appearance, Vic’s soft laugh echoing in his ears as he shuts the door behind him.
The drive to the hospital feels long even with virtually no traffic getting in his way. He doesn’t know what he’s going to find. Aaron’s awake, but does he remember anything? He’d not answered any of his texts that morning. Was that his way of telling him it was over, that he’d strung him along too long.
If he turned him away now he had no idea what he’d do. He wasn’t regretting telling Chrissie, not really, but the thought of having no one left him cold. He didn’t have many people in his life anyway, only Vic really and he hated the feeling of being alone.
He peeks through the window to Aaron’s room again when he gets there, just in case he had visitors. He was in no way ready to face Cain Dingle at any point but the room is empty, Aaron laying in the bed, the white sheets making him pale. He’s awake though, staring out of the window, plastered arm resting on a pillow, bandage covering one side of his forehead. He doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as he’d been imagining the past few days though and he plucks up the courage to open the door.
He lets out a breath when Aaron smiles. It’s gone in an instant though, replaced by suspicion and Robert can’t blame him for that.
“Hi. How are you?” Aaron shrugs, never one for wanting to talk about himself. “I half expected you to have a queue of visitors.”
“Sent ‘em home. Mum was doing my head in. Didn’t think you’d come. Where does she think you are this time?”
“No idea. Your Mum didn’t tell you then?” He drops the car magazine that he’d picked up from the meagre selection in the hospital shop, suddenly realising he didn’t want to turn up empty handed. Now he feels foolish because that’s what a mate would bring or family. He should’ve come up with something better.
“Tell me what? Sit down then, you’re making the place look untidy.”
“I, er…after the crash, I…told Chrissie everything.” Any other time he’d laugh at the way Aaron’s eyes widen.
“What?”
“I couldn’t keep it hidden anymore.”
“But, just telling her…what did she say?”
“Not much. Threw me out. I’m stopping at Vic’s. I told your Mum that’s where I was…”
“Are you surprised? I think she almost choked when she told me you got me out. I…”
“It’s alright, you’d do the same if it were me. Wouldn’t you?” He winks and Aaron laughs, the atmosphere lifting straight away. I didn’t tell Chrissie it was you by the way. Figured I could save you that.”
“She’ll find out.”
“Yeah, but there’s no need to bring it down on us until we have to.”
“Us?”
“Well yeah. It’s what you wanted, isn’t it? Me to leave her.”
“Yeah but…you’re just in shock or something after the accident.” Has he really made Aaron feel that unwanted, that he can’t believe he’d choose him.
“No, that’s not what it is…ok maybe it did make things clearer, when I saw you lying there in the hall but this isn’t a whim or whatever. I want to be with you.”
“And everyone knowing?”
“I’m surprised they don’t already.” He shrugs, probably not convincingly but thankfully Aaron doesn’t say anything. “I’ll deal with it. Assuming that it’s still what you want? Me and you?”
*****
In the end he moves back into the pub, Diane overruling Chas’s loud objections. It’s too crowded at Vic’s anyway and when Andy gets back the tension is unbearable, the jibes too much and unfair on Vic so he leaves. The pub isn’t much better, Chas glaring at him at every opportunity leave him spending more time in his room than anywhere else.
He’s taking advantage of her shopping trip to spend some time in the backroom alone, trying to figure out what he’s going to do with himself now. He’s heard nothing but he’s sure he won’t be going back to work for White’s.
“So this is where you’re hiding?” He turns to find Chrissie in the doorway, sneering at him in that way of hers.
“I’m not hiding. It’s my stepmum’s pub, it’s not exactly a shock that I’d be here.”
“I thought you’d be shacked up with your girlfriend by now.”
“Well you thought wrong. What do you want because I’m not in the mood for a shouting match.”
“I want to know who she is.”
“Why does it matter?” He finds himself hoping Chas or someone would come through to the back, anything to stop this. “It won’t change anything.”
“It will for me. I want to know. I think I deserve that, don’t you?”
“None of this is their fault. I’m the one you’re mad at.”
“I’ll decide who I’m mad at thank you! We were happy until they came along and stole you away!”
“Were we? Really? Living with your Dad, him making me feel like an inconvenience. Not everything was rosy Chrissie, surely you can see that.” She’s staring at him open mouthed. “It’s not the first time.”
“What?”
“There’ve been others. I didn’t want to tell you because there’s no point.”
“I…you married me. You stood there and made vows, when all the time you’ve been…you really are a bastard aren’t you?”
“It’s…I did love you, I never lied about that.”
“And that’s supposed to mean something to me, is it?”
“No. No I suppose not.” He sighs, getting to his feet, wanting her to leave because there’s no good way any conversation ends. “All I can say is sorry.”
“I still want to know who she is.”
“No. I told you, it won’t do any good.” He doesn’t know why he’s stalling, as soon as Aaron comes home, then everyone will know. “What difference does it make who it was?”
“I’ll find out and then I’ll make your life a living hell.” He doesn’t bother answering it won’t do any good. “Here, have this back. I’m sure she’ll like it.” He doesn’t even see her take off her rings, just them flying past him as she throws them across the room, just as the door opens and Chas stands there, mouth open.
“Am I interrupting?”
“I was just going. I hope you realise what kind a man you’ve got living under your roof.”
“Not my choice love, but if you don’t mind I’m gasping for a cuppa.” He stands there stunned as Chas doesn’t join the sniping as he thought she would.
“You haven’t heard the end of this!” Chrissie yells at him as she goes. Then it’s just him and Chas.
“Thanks.”
“I didn’t do it for you. I’d rather my home wasn’t the setting for your domestics, that’s all.” She’s banging round the kitchen, making tea. One cup. Not that he expected anything different. “Are you staying long?”
“I don’t know. Look, I know you don’t want me here but Diane said it was alright and Aaron…”
“What about Aaron?” The mug lands on the counter, tea spilling over the sides.
“Well…did he not tell you?”
“Clearly not. So you enlighten me.”
“We’re together.” They’d talked for hours that day in the hospital, both of them smiling stupidly at each other like a pair of teenagers. They wanted to keep it quiet, just for a while, because of Chrissie, because the village was grieving, because being just the two of them for a while sounded nice. He’d assumed that Aaron would tell Chas though, and now he’d put his foot in it.
“You work fast I’ll grant you that.”
“It’s what we want. Both of us. I know you don’t like me, but Aaron does. All I want is to be with him.”
“See I don’t…I don’t know what your game is. What about the money, the fancy house?”
“I don’t care about ay of that. I could’ve carried on the affair, had it all but I didn’t.”
“The Robert Sugden I know would’ve.”
“Maybe you don’t know me at all. Ever think that?”
“Not a chance. You’ll always be the same money grabbing chance who cheats on everyone. Aaron will see that soon enough.”
“If that’s what you want to believe…but until he tells me to I’m not going anywhere.” He picks up his jacket. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to pick him up.”
“He’s coming home?”
“Rang while you were out. Asked me to go.” He can’t help the little flicker of triumph in his voice at the look on her face.
*****
“Your Mum hates me.” He says when Aaron’s settled in the car. Hadn’t that been fun, going up to Home Farm to get the car and his things the day after he’d left. Thankfully Lawrence was away but Lachlan had been there just staring at him in that way of his.
“That’s not news.”
“I thought leaving my wife for her son might’ve thawed the cold shoulder a little.”
“No chance mate.” He shifts uncomfortably as Robert takes a corner too sharp. “How bad has she been?”
“Nothing I can’t handle. She’s not too keen on me being at the pub mind.”
“So I shouldn’t suggest you move into my room then?”
“I don’t know, you’re injured. She might take pity on you!”
*****
“Are you sure about this?” Aaron’s only in a towel and pulling the homemade waterproofing round his cast when he walks into the bedroom, back from collecting his black tie from Vic’s. He still needed to get round to bringing all his stuff over. “Going together I mean?”
“Don’t you want to?” It had been Aaron’s suggestion, late one night when the initial fuss had of him and Chrissie splitting up had all died down. He was getting used to being talked about in the pub, the dirty looks from the Dingles and Brenda not so subtly probing for gossip every time he wanted an Americano. So far no one but family knew about him and Aaron, neither of them particularly wanting the surefire confrontation with Chrissie until they had to.
“Of course I do, it’s just…it’s Ross’s funeral. I don’t want to cause a scene.”
“I still don’t understand why we’re going in the first place. Neither of us could stand him!”
“Because it’s what you do isn’t it? Besides, Pete asked, and he’s alright. Him and Finn can’t be blamed for having a git for a brother.” He sighs, rummaging through the few clothes he has here, the sight of Aaron lazing on the bed in a towel too distracting.
“So, you go and I’ll stay here. Pete didn’t ask me.” He hated funerals, everyone standing around not knowing what to say, people who hated the person suddenly coming out with platitudes they didn’t mean.
“So I can face all the gossip alone? No thanks.” While they hadn’t exactly made anything public, there were enough rumours flying round about why his marriage had ended and why he was living in the pub when it was well known Chas couldn’t stand him.
“You’re the one who was questioning it, not me. I didn’t go over to Vic’s for a tie for nothing you know. I could’ve joined you in the shower if you only said this half an hour ago.”
“Oi, still recuperating here you know.” He comes over to him, pulling him into a hug. “I’m serious though, it feels like rubbing her nose in it. Chrissie I mean.”
“Probably. Got to happen at some point because unfortunately none of them look like they’re going anywhere, and we’re certainly not so she’ll have to deal with it some day. Besides, I doubt she’ll be there.”
“You’re insufferable do you know that.”
“Yeah and you love it. Now if we’re going to this thing, get dressed before your mother comes up here and blames me for making you late. She’s already blamed me for the lack of milk and the bread being stale.”
“She’ll come round.”
“I’m not holding my breath. So, we’re doing this?” He couldn’t help notice the way his hand shook slightly as he fumbled with his tie, hoping Aaron didn’t see. He knew, deep down that Aaron wanted everyone to know, wanted to put the story straight, whereas he wanted nothing more than to hide away and ignore the gossips.
“What’s wrong? You’ve never been bothered about being a source of gossip as far as I know.” Aaron sits down on the bed with a sigh. “Do you…is it me? Do you not want to go with me?”
“No. It’s…I’ve never done this Aaron, everyone here thinks they know me. They’re used to me with a girl on my arm. Oh this isn’t coming out right. It’s not you, it’s…did you, the first time you were in the pub with Jackson, was it…did you feel different?”
“Yeah. To be fair though the time before that I’d punched him in the face. Not planning on doing that are ya?” He leans in and kisses him, all sort and sweet and he relishes it, still new enough to be a novelty. “Yeah, everyone’s going to be looking and talking about us, but that’s not going to go away until we go out there and let them.”
“I know you’re right, it’s just…” He wants to tell him, tell him about his Dad, how he made him feel, but now isn’t the time. One day though, one day he’ll tell him because he trusts him completely and he’s never felt that before about anyone. “Never mind, let’s go.”
“Robert…I can go on my own, if you really want me to.”
“No. Like you say, we can’t hide away up here forever.” It’s an appealing thought though, just him and Aaron, no one to bother them. Maybe when his arm was healed they could go away somewhere, anywhere but this village where everyone was watching.
“You can tell me, whatever it is that’s bothering you.”
“I know. Not today though, eh?”
It’s cold out, the end of summer hitting full force as they join the procession of people towards the church. The village always did like a good funeral, turning out in their droves all dressed in black. He and Aaron walk side by side, Chas just ahead with Diane. He’s gotten practised at ignoring her glares and Diane’s disappointed looks. Like water off a ducks back he’d have anyone believe, but deep down that disappointment cut through him as if it were his Dad himself passing opinion.
No one really notices, at least he thinks they don’t and it’s not like he and Aaron are acting any differently, but he can’t help but look around every few minutes in the church, feeling on edge like he hasn’t for ages. Aaron keeps looking over at him, and he knows he’s worried. In the end he squeezes his hand to let him know he’s alright.
After the service they follow to the grave, neither really bothered but they go all the same. The words are about Ross but you wouldn’t recognise him from them. He wonders idly what people would say about him, nothing good most likely.
“Come with me.” He whispers when everyone’s heading for the pub, Aaron following along silently as if he knows it’s important. He leads him over to his Mum’s grave, tidy as always thanks to Vic. He should visit more often, can’t remember the last time he did, probably that day when they were all here and Lawrence ruined it.
“Hi Mum. Sorry it’s been so long.” He doesn’t look over at Aaron, doesn’t want to see the look in his eyes if he thinks he’s daft. “Everyone’s going to find out soon, about me and Aaron, and it’s stupid, but…I wanted to tell you before because I know what people are going to say, but you wouldn’t. You’d be on my side and I know you’d love him. The two of you would most likely end up ganging up on me.” He falls silent doesn’t know what else to say.
“Are you alright?” He nods, sniffs a little but stands up next to Aaron.
“My Dad…he caught me one day on the farm, with this lad.” He feels Aaron’s hand in his, holding on tight. “Ever since then I’ve hidden it, pretended, lied, anything but accept the truth. I don’t want to do that anymore.”
“You don’t have to. I know it bothers you, what people will say, but they don’t matter. Not my Mum, not Diane or Andy.”
“Yeah.”
“We don’t have to go back to the pub you know. We can get in the car and get away from here if you like.”
It’s tempting, to drive and never stop, but he’s done running away. This is his home, he shouldn’t have to hide. He’s not the first person to have an affair, and he doubts he’ll be the last.
“No. We have to face it sometime. Might as well be when everyone is there. More efficient, wouldn’t you say?” Aaron laughs, shaking his head at him, and everything instantly feels better.
“Idiot. Come on then.”
The walk back is slow, they both might agree to get it over with but it seemed neither of them wanted to hurry. Vic’s on the step waiting for them when they reach the pub and his heart sinks.
“Chrissie’s inside.”
“How’s that car ride sound about now?” He asks Aaron.
“She can’t do anything. Come on.”
The place goes quiet the minute they walk in the door, Chrissie by the bar, eyes blazing. Everyone’s looking and he wants to run, would have if Aaron hadn’t had a death grip on his hand.
“Oh look, here he is. My husband everyone. You know everyone warned me. He’s only after your money, he’ll cheat on you the moment your back’s turned, but I wouldn’t listen. You always do like to meet expectations don’t you Robert?”
“I really don’t think now is the time pet.”
“Oh I think it is. I think everyone deserves to know exactly what he’s like. I’m only surprised that he’s still here and he hasn’t gone running to his bit on the side. What did she have that I didn’t? Hmm? More money?”
“Chrissie…”
“It’s pathetic.” It’s slow motion, the minute she realises, that split second she sees his and Aaron’s hands joined together and the penny drops and all he can do is stand there. “Oh. Oh I see now. It wasn’t more money…something a little rougher perhaps?” He grabs hold of Aaron as he steps forward. “You really had me fooled didn’t you. Let me carry on thinking you’d had your head turned by someone younger and prettier when all the time it was him!”
“It wasn’t like that.”
“Get a kick out of it do you? Running after someone’s husband, stealing them away?”
“Not sure it’s stealing really, considering he left you.” He can’t help but wince when Aaron speaks because he knows Chrissie and she won’t back down.
“Oh and what do you call seven months of sneaking around behind my back?”
“Fun.”
“Ok, that’s enough. Chrissie, I’ve apologised over and over so I don’t know what you want from me. Let’s at least try and be civil if we’re living in the same place, yeah?” He doesn’t see the glass of wine in her hand until she’s thrown it all over him.
“Drop dead!”
There’s a moment of complete hush and then the pub explodes into noise and he finds he can’t do anything, trying to wipe the wine from his face, Vic fussing and Aaron already turned to argue with his Mum. He just lets Vic lead him into the backroom and then it’s just them, Aaron closing the door behind him, probably in Chas’s face but he can’t be sure.
“Well that went well. Vic it’s fine.” He takes the towel from her, wiping his face dry. “Did you have to wind her up?” Aaron just shrugs. “Vic, pack it in, I’m fine!”
“Alright, mardy! I’ll leave you to it then shall I?” He nods, he loves her but he can’t deal with anyone right now. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to snap.”
“She’ll get over it.”
“Yeah. God what a mess.” He puts his head in his hands, feels Aaron sit down beside him, hand rubbing his back. “I didn’t want any of this you know. Not that…I don’t mean I regret…”
“I know. You know the offer of that car ride still stands. I mean, you’ll have to drive but…”
“That sounds good.” He kisses him, just savouring him a moment. “I better shower then. Don’t want to get pulled over smelling of wine do I.”
“Everything will be alright, Robert, in the end.”
“Yeah.” He gets up, then stops, fingers going to his left hand. “Time I left this behind don’t you think?” Aaron’s smile as he drops his wedding ring on the table makes everything worth it.

it’s a bit hilarious how cain is out there, giving ultimatums to robert, when just a few months ago it was him who was lying to debbie about joe and even after that came out he still went behind her back about her inheritance

Before Robert can safely leave the village the cops come looking for him, so he is
Hidden under the kitchen table by Chas with the table cloth pulled really far down (even though his feet are sticking out)
Locked in the beer cellar by Charity (let's be honest, she would have done that anyway just because)
Squashed in the kitchen cupboard under the sink by Vic during her shift
Under a mattress in one of the rooms at the B&B
Introduced by Debbie to his niece and nephew for the first time
Locked in the pirate ship by Gabby and Arthur
In Liv's wardrobe (where he's marking her coursework while he still can 😭)
In a large cage at the vets
Is declared Marlon's new apprentice, complete with fake moustache, white uniform, and a chef's hat rammed far down on his head, ("because hiding in plain sight is best." Apparently. )
Getting a free spray tan in Bernice and Kerry's tanning booth ("because it has to be authentic, doesn't it!")
Examined in private by Dr C and therefore the doctor "really can't leave his patient to speak to the police right now, can you come back later? After dinner and a Downton Abbey rerun, perhaps?"
Ducked down low in a tractor
Lying low with the pigs
Having a nap on top of the haystacks
Playing Candy Crush behind a herd of sheep
In the stables at Home Farm
Behind the curtains at Eric's
Packing sweets in the factory with a wig on
In a wheelbarrow being rolled down a lane by Sam and Lydia
Locked in a safe by Priya
Babysitting all the village kids
Hanging upside down from a tree
Taken on a shopping trip by Leyla and Tracy
Being bored to death by Bob and offended by Brenda
Stuffed in a freezer behind the pizzas at David's
Hidden behind a large cactus by Doug
At the scrapyard under a desk and being constantly kicked by Nicola ("Oops, sorry, forgot you were there. Just how much room do you need exactly?!")
Visited by Jimmy in the back of one of their trucks. He even brings beer. And tissues to sob into
Being folded into a broken washing machine by Ellis
About to have a rest in Cain's boot ("You sure you don't want me to tie you up for old time's sake?" "Only Aaron's allowed to do that." "Shut up and get in!")
Binging Netflix in one of the confessionals
Faking his own death (then setting Ross up for it)
Sending a text to one of Seb's burner phones for their meeting point. ("... Oh & Dad, bring my fave sippy cup, a shovel for Ross, & a pic of Soft Dad and Liv. No out of focus ones.")
And then it just ends with Aaron lying on top of his husband, saying to PC Swirls "Nope, haven't seen him."

What you didnt like about coiras reunion? They werent new. They were a well established couple with a huge family. A lot of ppl involved to reunite them. They had a child together. And with the Joe stuff they got what basically a lot fans want from robron, angst fights crime and make up scenes.
Hmm...let’s see.
1. First off, I do not pay nearly as much attention to Coira as I do Robron. I don’t have their entire scene catalogue stored in my head so I will be fuzzy on some details because I don’t rewatch their stuff.
2. I still don’t really know why they broke up. I’m gonna compair them to robron a lot here mostly because it’s what I’m most familiar with and they both reunited around the same time. In any case, Robron’s break up was pretty clear cut. With Coira, from what I remember, you had Charity hanging around and wanting Cain but he never actually cheated but he wasn’t as there for Moira. And then you had Holly and Moira was upset that Cain wasn’t supporting Holly with her. And Cain was mad that she was doing reckless things like confronting drug dealers for Holly who he sort of saw as a lost cause or not their problem. And there was miscommunication and they just sort of deteriorated. I guess? I suppose with robron there were just clearer things to fix before a reunion than there were with Coira for me.
3. I think the first part of the break up post the terribleness that was a return to Cain and Charity was actually okay. By that I mean, I think him trying to be there for her after Holly died and then them sort of reconciling at Christmas and sleeping together seemed like a natural course of events. But then because they wanted to keep the pregnancy a secret, they just had her push him away again and then they shoved her off screen for months while Cain seemed perfectly content to date Harriet and have a full blown relationship with her. There just wasn’t a whole lot of pining until after Isaac was finally born and that was kind of too big of a gap.
4. I just never liked that they made Moira the one who killed Emma. I just don’t personally feel like it works for her character. That whole situation felt really contrived to me just to get her and Cain talking again and him helping her, which they didn’t totally need because they had Isaac for that. And it was also just so they could have Adam take the fall and go on the run, which Cain helped with, which put another silly roadblock in for Coira. And then on top of all of that, immediately after they got back together, all of that just was suddenly fine. Moira got over her post partum depression and was fine with Isaac then and Ross and Pete forgave her instantly. Just a weird choice for me that I don’t think her character will ever quite recover from.
5. With the reunion itself, it all just felt kind of lackluster to me. It was like okay, we dealt with all that Emma stuff so now we’ll put them back together I guess. I mean there was some good stuff with Cain deciding to be a dad to Isaac even if it meant he and Moira might not be together. But I just sort of feel like there were moments before the actual reunion where it would have felt more natural for them to get back together. They did sleep together again before then right? And then she pushed him away again. And yes it was nice to have other people playing a part in their reunion, Charity and Debbie and such but they spent what, an entire double episode having Charity convince Moira to get back together with Cain? I mean obviously she wouldn’t have if she didn’t want to deep down but if I compare to robron again...Aaron just couldn’t not be with his husband anymore and that felt better to me. And then they just met on a bridge and didn’t talk about any of their issues and just kissed.
6. And then after that, they were just fine? But they also disappeared. Or they had separate stories. The Matty stuff was good, sure. And Cain had definitely learned something after the Holly stuff about supporting Moira with her kids and that was good growth. And yes, they had Isaac, who was a much more instantly palatable baby compared to Seb, because he came from both of them and brought them together rather than acting as a catalyst to split them up. (Yes I know they got there with Seb in the end). But still, they just didn’t have a lot to do together. I still don’t even know if they had gotten officially divorced or not. Did they? They just got back together but other than the Matty thing, didn’t really grow as a couple. They just went back to old patterns of miscommunication and there was that weird domestic violence incident that was never addressed.
7. And the Joe mess did no favors to anyone who was involved. About the only thing I enjoyed out of that was that time that Cain let himself get beat up. That was an interesting direction. But this was where Moira killing Emma once again did not work for me because instead of just being there for Cain, she was all ‘I know what being a murderer is like...it’s fine. Just get over it.’ It was just weird for me. And then the whole Kim thing was bizarre and terrible.
8. And now they’re back to miscommunication and lying to each other and probably heading into an affair with nothing Nate and it’s like...what have they had since like the Christmas Isaac was conceived that should really make me root for them other than the fact that I used to really like them and Jeff and Natalie still have great chemistry together.
I don’t know. The writing for them just makes me sort of sad and I wish it was better.

Full offense but if it turns out it actually was debbie who called the police it's the literally fuckin absurd that the poorly done relationship with joe is what finally fractured cain x debbie when shes always been close to him.
They're acting like Joe has been the love of her life for half her life. He barely fuckin mattered and half the time she knew him he was lying to her and making her children homless. Literally made her a prostitute per his own words and her hate for him led to Ross being permanently scarred.
This is a fucking joke and a bad one at that.

I’ll tell you one thing. No LAD is ever gonna look at you as long as you have her along with ya. (Part 2)
Robert gives Sarah a teddy bear since he is her uncle (something that is literally almost completely ignored during Ryan!Robert’s tenure). Robert calling Debbie his girlfriend (just stop already) but she wonders if it’s solely because of Sarah. He persuades her otherwise with kisses 🫣. Debbie continues to lie to Cain where she was when back at Wishing Well but he’s certain she’s seeing a lad. Well, she ain’t gonna have fun for the next ten years Cain tells her. Back at the footbridge area, Robert makes assurances to Debbie and that Andy made a mistake dumping her.

Why what happened in that era?
robron had like two scenes together in august 2017 though lol
that’s just blatantly untrue haha!
ok i loved it because i was personally relieved that they’d finally broken up (and still having scenes) but also bc it was nice and summery, the boys looked great, they were freshly separated and really bad at it. 🌸 It just gave us great content tbh!! we had:
the infamous “i’ve seen his eye.. i don’t like it”
robert asking aaron about the festival tickets and aaron being like ‘eh why not!’ like the two insane ex-husbands they were
also robert’s impressionist talent “how do we like our eggs in the morning?.. fertilised?”
aaron stealing robert’s watch
their awkward scenes at the scrapyard and that time robert was scheming to poison lawrence and trying to act innocent but aaron got offended because robert wasn’t paying attention to him the way he usually did
aaron worried about robert and going to talk to him to talk about his mental health, telling victoria to look out for him
robert’s “i don’t usually get dumped by the man i love” and aaron’s subsequent face (like yeah robert was lying about the pills there but that part was genuine)
robert stopping aaron provoking jason at the gym
“i’m never gonna stop caring about you” + aaron melting at the words despite his facade
robert scared shitless and going to jason to stop the fight
aaron and robert arriving at the boxing gym like a power couple
robert being a proud husband about aaron not going through with fighting jason
robert inviting aaron for a pint, aaron’s teasy “sure you can afford it?” and robert’s most adorable smile + sigh !!!
them drinking a pint at the pub + the ex-husband EYE-FUCK !!
robert’s gutted face when aaron left because rebecca walked in and was talking with robert and it got awkward for him
robert going to the Mill to apologise and spend some more time with bae (and totally checking out his ass when he walks in!) but aaron acting like ‘u up to something but it ain’t my problem anymore u do u’ and robert leaving feeling rejected af but both of them looking heartbroken about it!!
plus, the cain taking aaron paintballing with debbie and sarah to take his mind off things and help with his mental health
I CAN’T BELIEVE YALL ARE SLEEPING ON ALL OF THIS SMH

Thoughts on tonight’s episode: (this is me venting and most of it isn’t positive so avoid if that’s not your thing)
-The Robron stuff-
So first thing upon getting up after they decide to get married officially the first thing Robron decide to talk about is Rebecca. 🙄 Seriously?
I have to say I agree with an anon I saw around on tumblr that said something about how they think one of the main reasons Rob proposed was because he’s wants Aaron to adopt Seb. While I don’t think that’s the only reason it definitely feels like the one the show is focusing on especially since they never really told us why Rob or Aaron wanted to propose all of sudden.
Not only was Rob calling Rebecca in the scene we saw, him and Aaron were talking about her, then we had Lachlan talking about Rob calling about Rebecca. I mean wtf?!
I don’t care how much fandom thinks I’m just being negative. Robron deserves better. The show thinks they can just throw us a special episode here and there and that’s enough. And you know what it’s not. I mean as much as I love every single kiss they ever have look at their kisses compared to the straight couples. Look how their scenes and how most of their physical interactions are compared to the straight couples. You can tell that the show tries to keep it super tame with Robron.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know that the UK has the watershed but if the straight couples get to be more affectionate and even sexual sometimes Robron should be able to as well. I mean when was the last time Robron had a sex scene? When have they ever even had a scene where they woke up in bed together? The only time they’ve been together in the bed in the mill was for the reveal episode and the only reason that happened was so Rob could tell Aaron.
I know most of fandom doesn’t want to hear about this and I know most of you are just happy with whatever bone the show wants to throw you with Robron but I’m not. The show has a serious double standard for how they treat the straight couples vs the gay ones and even Vanity gets treated better than Robron (to an extent) because they’re two women and not seen as nearly risque. In society two women together are often seen as being more palatable especially by people who aren’t comfortable with lgbtq representation, they view them as just experimenting or whatever. While seeing two men together doing something as simple as kissing has always been seen as more sexual and even threatening to close minded people when it’s just not.
It’s obvious The show tries not to push the boundaries with Robron because they don’t want to alienate their conservative viewers and they worry about censorship problems. But they’ve shown a lot of things that push the boundaries of what should really be acceptable at 7pm with the straight couples showing nudity even at times.
Robron aren’t an old married couple they’re a young couple who the show is painting as so in love they want to get married twice. Yet instead of being super into to each other and excited about the wedding and talking about that they sit and talk about Seb and Rebecca. They didn’t seem excited about the fact that they’re getting remarried. Remember the kiss we got back in Oct of 2016 where Rob was so in love with Aaron he practically dragged him into the pub bathrooms and kissed his face off. Like where is their passion?
---
While it was nice to hear some of Aaron’s pov on Seb and what he wants I still think he has reservations given that look he gave Rob. I’m NOT saying he doesn’t love Sebo or that he doesn’t want to be a dad. It just seems insane to me to think that a person who had the kind of childhood he did wouldn’t have any fears or insecurities about the idea of being a dad. I think it makes sense if he still had some mixed feelings on things given his history and how Seb came to be all. Plus this all feels super rushed to me and it feels like Aaron and Rob should have been having convos about how he feels regarding Seb a while ago but the show is just throwing this is now for whatever is coming next.
Rob saying Seb has his genes really seems like a red flag to me about the paternity along with other things that’s been going on. Like with Ross being sort of brought back into the storyline for Rebecca, the random all of a sudden adoption talk, and then all the Rebecca Lachlan stuff. Plus I keep getting the feeling the show is hinting at Rob finding something first when he was looking around in Rebecca’s things and then when he was looking through her book. Plus there’s the Christmas episode with all the foreshadowing that feels like it’s all pretty much come true. Which Rob had been the focus of that and in the episode they said something happens with Seb and that’s like the last part that hasn’t played out yet.
I know some think there's no chance for a paternity twist but there has always been one. If ED wanted to shut down any doubt about Seb’s paternity they could have done it after he was born like the did with Isaac and Cain and they never did. It’s highly possible that Robron gets to a point where they think everything is great, they get remarried, then try to adopt Seb only to find out he’s not Rob’s. This means the adoption talk was brought up so that it could lead them down the road of adopting their own kid. Not saying it has to happen but the possibility is definitely there.
---
The engagement party at the mill is yet another foreshadowing of the Christmas stuff (when Rob walked into the mill and saw everyone around the table). And as much as I love that the family came to support them it still felt like the rest of all of this proposal stuff rushed and just shoved in because they need it for further storylines that are coming up.
The party didn’t really feel like it was about Robron it felt like it was about everything else and the majority it felt like it was about Rebecca and I’m sorry but that is just utter bullshit. You have two men who are going to get married and the only thing that they talk about at their engagement party is the woman who did her damnedest to try and come between them. I’m tired of being told to just get over this. I’m tired of being told I’m just being negative. Rebecca being shoved in Robron’s lives this much is homophobic and unnecessary. Robron’s engagement should be about them promising to spend their lives together forever. Robron should look like a loved up couple excited about their future together especially after what they went through last year. They should be talking about what they’re going to do for the wedding instead it was all about Rebecca. Most of the people who should have been there weren’t even there. Like why have Vic of all people working the pub when she’s Rob’s brother? They only had one scene at the end where the wedding was even talked about so it’s like all those people showed up but not one scene where people were going up to Robron saying congratulations to the happy couple.
I still don’t understand this attitude change of Chas either. I can understand Chas supporting Robron but she should have some skepticism after what happened last year I just don’t like the way they’ve written her this year. I want her and Rob to be on good terms but I don’t want a Chas who walks around like she has amnesia or feels like a different person.
So Rob is so in love and so excited about getting remarried he leaves his engagement party to go browse through Rebecca’s memory book. He couldn’t have possibly done that later??? >_<
Lachlan: Rebecca caused the crash because you Rob took Seb. So really it's Rob's fault. As usual Rebecca is blameless.
Yes Lachlan is lying to Rob but the show is still painting Rob like the bad guy for the day he took Seb. Like if he hadn’t taken Seb none of this would have happened. Never mind the fact that Rebecca was about to take Seb and leave the country that day so that’s still okay.
Rob would never just believe everything Lachlan says this is sooo stupid.
So has Liv really given up on all the stuff with Lachlan cause it kind of seems like it and if so that is also stupid.
Liv got more of a proposal from Aaron for her to be “best person” at the wedding than Rob got from Aaron to be his husband. Still bitter that the proposal went down the way it did.
Nice to know Robron are finally getting a stag do. Let’s hope it actually happens on screen and involves a ton less Rebecca.
-Sam/Lydia/Samson-
Look at the Sam and Lydia scenes yesterday and today. Look at how Lyda is able to be physical when comforting Sam. Hugging him and kissing him. This is What I'm talking about is missing with Robron. 99% of the time we only get physical affection on special episodes like we got yesterday and today. And while I loved it Robron deserves more. We deserve more as a fandom.
I know Samson was upset about his mom but it doesn't make sense that knowing the kind of caring kid he is he would just stand there and not be worried after pushing Lydia down the stairs.
-Graham and Joe-
I feel like this flashback episode with Graham should have happened a while ago. Like after he told Debbie about his history. Because it kind of feels like it came out of nowhere now. Like ED have had a lot of time to develop Joe and Graham more and they’ve just let them stagnate. They’re treating Joe like he’s this new and improved redeemed guy but he’s never atoned for all that he did when he got there and the motivations behind why he was doing what he did were never resolved either. All that stuff about him and his dad and his issues with Charity were just kind thrown away because he’s oh so in love with Debbie now.
Meanwhile with Graham I like the actor and the character but I’ve wanted to see more natural development like they had him tell Debbie his story but this whole flashback would have worked better I feel like if it came from him talking about it with Megan. Instead we just saw him crashing around the village like a drunken idiot. And we’re supposed to feel for him and what he’s been through but it all just kind of fell flat for me especially the big show down with him and Joe. Like that should have been really emotional only it just felt like two guys screaming in each others faces. The show wasn’t allowing us to see any of how Graham was really feeling other than he was feeling guilty over his wife but not how he feels towards Joe. He didn’t seem to care he just beat the shit out of him and left. I thought he saw Joe as like a son but I don’t think the show has done enough to build up that relationship before dropping an episode like this on us.

Post Ep Ponderings Weekly Round-Up October 15-19
I keep wrestling with myself over what I think about Vic trying to find Adam. On one hand, I get it. I’d be angry too. It would definitely suck knowing that one of your best friends and your in-laws were lying to you about something so serious. On the other hand, I’d like to think I’d stop and consider things when everyone else involved was (relatively) okay with the way things went down. It would hurt like mad losing your husband, but in the end, Adam chose to go down for Moira and he agreed to go on the run. Still, it’s not like I don’t feel for her and finding out he found someone new was the real rotten cherry on top. That’s the real twist of the knife there though she clearly needed to be told so she would stop looking.
I must admit though I don’t know that it’ll turn into anything big, that I’m looking forward to her and Ellis having a bit of a fling though.
Of course Sarah finally gets a heart while Debbie is in jail. As I write this I realize that I don’t really have anything else to say here except that Faith and Charity make a very entertaining duo.
I like the idea of Graham now watching out for Noah the way he did for Joe. I like him getting a second chance and lord knows Noah needs some help. It could also make for some interesting drama when Kim is back.
I get why he didn’t, but I really think Cain should’ve told Moira what was up. I know this is more in character and this has clearly messed Cain up, but I honestly believe she’s the one person who would understand and possibly even be able to help. You know, I’ve always been a Coira fan, but they’ve been even better to me lately. I’m excited for this part to play out if only because their chemistry has been through the roof lately.
I only have one thing to say about the stuff with David and Maya because this story is doing nothing for me. I feel like they’re going to play this creepy between Maya and Jacob and that maybe Leeanna is right about Maya. I just don’t really want any of this. If they were characters I cared about then maybe, but not this.
So what are we thinking? April is bullying Leo or is she trying to protect him from bullies? I’m hoping the latter because I really like April.
Finally, major kudos to Diane in her dealings with Bernice this week. I loved it all!

Moira: I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you both for lying to my face and not telling me what's been going on this entire time.
Debbie & Cain: You're welcome.
