The fact that canonically the end of origins and act one of da2 are only a year apart is so funny to me. From what I could find, both take place in 9:31 dragon. So this means Awakening took place in maybe like. Four five months. So Anders leaves Amaranthine, trying to escape warden life, and then immediately falls in with ANOTHER weirdo with a hero complex. And then the guy can drag him BACK to the deeproads which he hates and thought he wouldn't have to do any for a long long time. No wonder Anders and Justice struggle so much they didn't even have a whole year after merging before they went to the Worst Place Possible. Like for all the places for a possessed apostate to go, Kirkwall is probably THE worst choice possible

depression is really weird actually wdym i spent 2.5 years of my life in bed

#and wdym that lifestyle changed so quickly into being out and about and an active member of the world??#very proud of myself #and i mean it wasn't that quick of a change #it was like 1.5 years primarily depression bedrotting with occasional school -> primarily depression bedrotting ->#primarily depression bedrotting with 3-9 hours of work weekly -> straight into 31+ hours school+9-12 hours work weekly #so there was somewhat of a gradual progression #but still #also wowza i wake up 7-7:30am every morning now. 1pm was an early wake up for a not so insignificant amount of time #i mean of all fundamental growth years to miss out on the ages like what 12/13-15 aren't too bad? they would suck in a different way if i #had been socially involved #anyway it's just. yea i'm proud of myself but it is a crazy lifestyle change #and even when i was deeply depressed in a horrible routine i feel like i learned a lot. how to regulate my emotions and cope well and find #the joy in everything. bc if i stayed in bed all day then i would at least be happy about the sun or whatever #and for the while of being not at school at all i WANTED to be at school i just could not find one bc our school system is so cute like tha #(basically every school is at capacity and the local school that has a guaranteed place for me would have been an all boys or girls 😭)#but i miraculously found and got into this school and miraculously made it work so well for me socially and now academically #it's also a good time to get back into school for my education bc any later and it woulda been pretty bad for all my certifications and uni #ive missed out on so much maths that its not worth it to me to try and catch up but my teacher knows that #but ive always hated maths regardless i only ever understood it for the first half of yr 7 then my attendance dropped #and after my recent exam i decided to try harder at school. but i still got an A on the exam i didn't study for!! academic weapon fr #i'm just idk thinking back to myself in the past few years #and how hopeless it all felt. but i got out of it!! i beat the depression and social anxiety and found a good place and made the most of it #and during the peak of my depression i remember i went out someplace near my old school and panicked so so badly about seeing #kids from my old school. and the friends at the time didnt really check on me when i went to shake and cry in a side street lmao #i kept the best of that friendgroup and have better friends now. but anyway now i take a bus each morning with some kids from my old school #and you see these hands? they look like they're shaking to you?#anyway yeah it's just cool i got to this point :) i really had no hope for so long but now i have a life i'm living and a future i'm build #--ing towards #which is funny i just decided some random day last november after watching some better call saul 'huh actually lawyer would b pretty cool'#and will i get there? we'll see but i do have hope now

fairly unsurprising answer but: ice: when he came to see Carole to apologize for killing goose in ch 2 of wwgattai (sets the tone of their relationship)

mav: something very benign like mav doing magic tricks for him as a little little kid. you know how your earliest memories are always a little fuzzy and always afternoon sunshine? imagine a desaturated maverick sitting crosslegged in the grass in pale afternoon southern california sunshine showing Bradley how he can detach his thumb from his hand and then put it back again. no blood, no bone, no pain, and he’s got this daredevil grin like he’s enjoying separating his thumb from his hand. can’t see his eyes behind his aviators. the best magicians are the ones who can make even their pain disappear. or, playing “got your nose,” holding Bradley’s nose up so he can see it right in front of his very eyes, NO PAIN!, and then making it disappear. “where’d your nose go, Gosling? oh, my gosh, I lost your nose!! how’re you gonna smell? i bet you’re gonna smell bad. get it? get it? —here it is, i found it, don’t worry, it’s all good!” and putting his nose back so everything’s ok. that’s Bradley’s earliest memory of mav.

Update on my Whumptober thoughts: Not all the prompts will be posted, I have all 31 planned out but I found out that you don't have to post all 31. If a fic is finished, I'll post it but there's some big beasts that I want to write properly instead of rush. Also, I might not even write all 31. I want the completionist title but I don't have the time nor energy to force myself to write all the prompts and I did it last year and it wasn't like life-changing. I like Whumptober because the prompts help my creativity, spark some inspiration (talking about my Delancey Brothers Fic) but the perfectionist in me just beats myself up about not getting enough fics done before October or not writing enough each day to get them finished and then writing fics that all sound the same or the ideas being kind of shitty because I'm forcing them. I want to do my ideas justice rather than mass produce shit I don't like because I feel I need to, it's a constant line I walk between "I want to write something well and that I'm proud of so might be inactive for a while on AO3" and "I want to get this idea out there so need to post a bunch of stuff now"

#also i don't know why i feel i have to update people #i genuinely think that people will give me flack about not posting 31 prompts but calling myself a completionist #or saying i've got loads of fics coming up for the bear because of whumptober then not posting anything #i've made good progress with some things #the ed fic #but others are complete and not how i want them to be #there's a few fics exploring richie's birth family and him reconnecting that i want to do better #or him quitting the bear and becoming a nurse that i want to do justice #or just the fact that all i'm thinking of is my mikey lives au but it doesn't fit whumptober so i'm not writing it #and to top it off #my way of writing is changing from plan a lot and then write each scene in order and do that every day #to not being able to flesh out ideas so just writing down scenes until i get the vibe #it feels less dedicated to me personally #just because it's different and i'm a perfectionist who's too thorough sometimes #also half the time i plan a fic in detail then cba because it's too daunting #so i'm taking a leaf out of scenedenial's book and giving myself more freedom and trying not to beat myself up #that i've got 10 fics on the go and they're all slow going #because that's what i can manage #september is and will continue to be a stressful month for me #got my 2nd attempt at my driving test on 24th september and i'm an anxious wreck #also work on top of that and trying to have a life and let myself chill and say watch footie with my dad or grey's anatomy with my mum #rather than sit at a computer not writing all day #you've got to do stuff to be motivated #also exercise #i'm trying to exercise regularly and there's only so much time in the day when you work 9 hours a week #when did this become a vent post?#personal #kinda

Honestly why am I fucking Like This

#speculation nation #im still overcompensating i know #i got the everliving shit scared outta me and had one of the most humiliating days of my life #and ive been working so hard on being Useful that i have been. putting in a Lot of extra hours...#i didnt Have to do all of this today. i stayed late to do it. 1.5 hours of active lifting the Entire Time #plus some work with counting and general managerial stuff #so that i stayed 2 hours and 20 mins over my 5 hour shift #and im just like. in the moment i was just so bothered by how disorganized everything was #i couldnt find where the Fucking lids were. ended up they were buried under a bunch of other stuff.#so i dug them out. reorganized. did a Ton of lifting.#like... uhmmm. 9 large boxes 7 regular boxes 4 straws 10 sippy lids and 31 dome lids #boxes. all boxes.#oh yeah and 8 paper bag boxes. plus general rearranging.#none of the lids were in one place and all the cups boxes were on top of the other boxes #so i had to pull them out to dig things out then put them back in #the good news is the lids boxes were pretty light. cup boxes not so much.#but thats still. kind of an insane number when i think about it.#i didnt NEED to do this. but i did anyways. because im a neurotic prey animal working desperately to keep the anger away from me #wahoooooo #it's... fine. it feels good to be productive. im just feeling... a bit fed up with myself.#my hip has already been bothering me today bc there always has to be Something wrong with my body #and then i went and did This. who knows what fucking unpleasant side effects this is gonna have on me.#sore muscles probably. maybe bruises. and MAYBE ill fuck my back or ankles up again. or make my hip worse. or #whatever.#it's fine. i'll be fine. im gonna go home and eat dinner and... chill. im gonna chill.#just. ugh.#but im clocked out at least. and i have tomorrow off. i'll make sure it's a good one.

Last leg of my amazing 150 days abroad. Sitting in Rome's Fiumicino airport waiting to catch a flight back to Frankfurt. My flight was delayed 35mins when I was checking in my bag. By the time I got through security they added an extra 1.5 hours to the delay.

I haven't slept in 24 hours. My eyes are so dry they feel like sandpaper. My phone is at 40% and it's still snowing in Frankfurt so Im really hoping I get back to Germany today.

Pray for me.

I just wanna check into my hotel and fucking sleep.

31 Days of Horror Movies (?/31)

I WANT TO DEDICATE WAY TOO MUCH TIME TO HORROR, FUCK YOUR MOVIES, LET'S TALK TV

Okay, I know I said horror movies, but media would have been over-reaching (I'm not talking about video games or books, though do check out the Shining, it's amazing). And I'm not sure if there's any word that encompasses both movie and tv. (Watch, one of you assholes (affectionate) will tell me within 5 mins of me posting this.) But, I'm going to list some tv anyway, because it's my list and you can't stop me.

Inside No. 9: An anthology series in which each episode is a self-contained story and the genres range from drama to comedy to dark comedy to horror to black comedy. ... As with any other anthology that exists, there are going to be episodes you love, episodes you hate, and episodes that fall everywhere in-between. Most of the eps, for me, fall at least into the "like" category which is how it made this list. With only 6 eps per season and 2 specials, with each ep running 30 mins, for a tv show it's not a huge time commitment.

American Horror Story: Asylum: The second season of AHS follows the stories of "patients" and staff at an asylum in 1964. ... I made myself go with only one season of AHS and it was a no brainer that it'd be this one. The writers had really hit their stride with this one but weren't yet bogged down by all that had come before it (which was only one season). The characters are some of the best characters that have ever been written or acted in the series and the stories are some if its tightest. It's worth noting, though, that AHS is infamous for, as I put it, throwing everything including the kitchen sink into a story and this season is no exception.

The Haunting of Hill House: A fractured family confronts haunting memories of their old home and the terrifying events that drove them from it. ... If there's one show that you decide to give a try, this is the show you should watch. Some of the tightest writing I've ever experienced, amazingly acted, absolutely gorgeous character work, and the sixth episode, Two Storms, to this day takes my breath away. Definitely top 5 best tv shows I've ever watched. There is also another series from the same writer, The Haunting of Bly Manor, which is nowhere near as good but as some really amazing moments.

The Last of Us: A man must help a young teen girl get across a fungal-zombie filled United States. ... Man, if you'd told me that there'd be a zombie tv series on this list before I watched this series, I would have raised a very skeptical eyebrow at you. I tend to find zombies somewhat boring, all the survivors are always depressingly horrible to each other, and a tv show is long form which means that these two things are usually drawn out awfully long. But this show does it all right. The writing is amazingly tight, the character and relationships are great, the emotions are there and feel real and meaningful, and my only major complaint is a grudging one because this show is literally so well-written there's no way to change it without ruining the tightness of the script. So, insert "I guess" meme here.

#geeky talks #yeah i know that i put both dark comedy and black comedy when describing inside no 9 #they are related but very different types of comedy #like the very first ep of the show is something that i would definitely call black comedy not dark comedy #if you're interested in other seasons of ahs #i'd recommend murder house (the first season)#and if you like found footage then raonoke (sxith season)#i wish i could recommend tales from the crypt #but besides the amazing practical effects #there's not really much to recommend from the show #the fact that the last of us is so good and is also based on a video game #which let's face it are notorious for putting out bad adaptations #is just cherry on top of the already damn delicious cake #31 days of horror recs

this year, i'm doing things a little differently. Urgent: Help Mahmoud's 17 Family Members Escape from Frequent Bombings!

Hi everyone. Mahmoud (@mahmoudfamily1) is trying to raise fund to evacuate 17 members of his family (including no fewer than 5 children!), and he has asked me to share his story.

Mahmoud found out the bombing of her sister Tasnim’s husband’s house, the house his entire family was staying at, on the news. He could not contact his family for 3 days after that. He knew that several people had died and several more injured, but he did not know whom among his family survived, and who didn’t.

When he finally managed to reach them, he found out that a close relative, named Alaa, had been killed, along with her children: Ahmed and baby Iman who was not even one month old yet. Alaa was a beloved member of their family. She was optimistic and tried hard to cheer everyone else up. For the longest time, Alaa believed that the world would not turn away from their suffering and the war would end soon. But an airstrike took her and her children’s lives, the bombing continued, and the world remains indifferent.

Mahmoud’s sister Tasnim, was severely injured in the bombing. The attack happened while the family was sleeping, and Tasnim woke up to find her body injured and broken, bleeding heavily with bones sticking out of her leg. She found her 6-month-old daughter under the rubble, severely injured, but thankfully still alive. Tasnim's leg was fractured in multiple places, so severely injured that they all thought it had to be amputated. Tasnim’s husband and her 6-month-old daughter, her father-in-law, her brothers-in-law and Alaa’s husband were all severely injured by the bombing.

A few days later, Mahmoud’s family narrowly survived a second bombing on the street, as the people behind them, too slow to escape from the attack, were killed. They hid in their car, watching the plane flying above dropping bombs, praying that it would not target their car.

Given Tasnim and her 6-month-old daughter’s severe injuries, the family used a lot of money and exhausted all means to get them out of Gaza to receive the essential medical treatment they require. While Tasnim and her youngest daughter managed to evacuate, the rest of Mahmoud’s 17 family members, including Tasnim’s 2-year-old daughter who sustained first degree burns from the bombing, are still trapped in Gaza.

Mahmoud’s 17 family members (including no fewer than 5 children!) risk being killed and injured from the frequent airstrikes every day. They have narrowly escaped death no fewer than 5 times. On 31 August, the IOF dropped bombs on the tent next to theirs, killing 9 young men and women, and Mahmoud’s family woke up to their broken bodies.

Look at the photos Mahmoud sent me. These children, they are all trapped in Gaza where bombs may fall on them anytime. Please do not look away. Please help Mahmoud’s 17 family members reach safety!!
