Man, the way he actually had a really awful day the first time round, and just wanted to not have fucked up everything, but now he's not willing to accept any life that isn't absolutely perfect, is Such Complicated Emotions! I wonder how long he can pretend he's actually happy like this, in his serene world where he knows exactly what will make everyone around him stop bothering him and only have emotions he's comfortable with

And the way the first time round ended makes so much sense of why this specific interaction with his wife is the one he *needs* to be perfect on, feels terrified of messing up, feels so scared of ever leaving the loop and experiencing a difficult conversation with her where he doesn't know exactly what to say.

Also, I skimmed a spoilery ask about this story before reading it, thankfully didn't get the full spoiler because I looked away, but - the ask was about the car crash and somehow caused me to believe this was gonna be an absurdist story where a guy is in a timeloop because of constant car crashes happening on this day, and he has to somehow prevent them all to survive. This was a very funny misconception to come into the story with

SDdhjhjsdhjsd, story of a guy incidentally aligned to be the subject of 274 car crashes in one day and each loop he has to learn how to avoid the next car crash.

Instead it is just a fun Prison Of Your Own Construction story 🤗🤗🤗. I was just really compelled with the idea of the kind of person who would be their own warden for as long as they have access to these powers. No one can stop him but him, and the idea of stopping is far too scary now.
