I don't know why it is, but every time I catch an episode of Poirot on TV, it tends to be the same episodes, most of the time Third Girl. Not one of Agatha Christie's best--her later work is not as strong, as you may know--but I like watching this adaptation bc Poirot and Ariadne Oliver buddying up is such a delight. Ariadne does a lot of her own sleuthing and even ends up knocked on her head (a usual occurrence for Agatha's heroines). Poirot reassuring a nurse and a police officer, who are in the room when she regains consciousness that "this is just how she is" when they think she's lost her mind is priceless. They're the ultimate besties!

I love Hastings's moment of brilliance in The Cornish Mystery episode.
Also Japp shaking his fist at Poirot after finding out (from a police constable) the murderer made a confession to him. All in all a fun episode.

Sir David Suchet on which detective he would play other than Poirot → January 12 2024
"People always ask me what is it about my Poirot that is so endurable and memorable. It's nothing to do with me, actually. I lifted the character from Agatha Christie's books and, hopefully, got it right, for Agatha Christie and her millions of fans worldwide. But, for the viewers, I think, he's also a great moral compass. So, when you're watching him, you feel safe, you feel secure, and everything is gonna be alright. And, I think that's a lovely feeling."
